Comparison with Other Spa Facilities on Disney Cruise Line

While the Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line is a standout spa facility, it’s important to note that there are other spa options available onboard the ships. Let’s explore how the Rainforest Room compares to other spa facilities on Disney Cruise Line:

Senses Spa & Salon: The Rainforest Room is a section within the larger Senses Spa & Salon, which offers a comprehensive range of spa treatments and services. While the Rainforest Room focuses on hydrotherapy experiences and relaxation, the Senses Spa & Salon offers a wider variety of treatments, including massages, facials, body wraps, and salon services. If you’re seeking a more extensive menu of spa services, the Senses Spa & Salon may be the ideal choice.

Quiet Cove Pool Area: While not a traditional spa facility, the Quiet Cove Pool Area is an adult-only oasis where guests can relax and soak up the sun. It features loungers, jacuzzis, and a bar, providing a more laid-back atmosphere for those seeking to unwind without the full spa experience. The Rainforest Room, on the other hand, offers a tranquil spa retreat with additional amenities like heated loungers and hydrotherapy experiences.

Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay: Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Castaway Cay, features an adult-only beach called Serenity Bay. This secluded area offers a peaceful escape where guests can relax, swim, and enjoy the beach. While Serenity Bay provides a serene setting, it does not offer spa-specific amenities or treatments like the Rainforest Room does aboard the ship.

Remy Spa and Senses Spa Villas: Available exclusively on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy ships, the Remy Spa and Senses Spa Villas offer a luxurious and private spa experience. These intimate spaces feature treatment rooms, private plunge pools, and dedicated relaxation areas. The Rainforest Room, while more accessible and available on all Disney Cruise Line ships, provides similar relaxation amenities but on a larger scale and with shared spaces.

When comparing the Rainforest Room to other spa facilities on Disney Cruise Line, it’s important to consider your preferences and the type of experience you’re seeking. If you are looking for a comprehensive menu of treatments, the Senses Spa & Salon may be more suitable. If you prefer a quieter, beachside setting, Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay could be a perfect choice.

However, if you desire a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience within the ship, the Rainforest Room offers an excellent balance of amenities and tranquility. Its hydrotherapy experiences, heated loungers, serene ambiance, and exclusive adult-only access make it a popular choice for guests seeking a dedicated spa retreat.

Ultimately, the choice between the Rainforest Room and other spa facilities on Disney Cruise Line depends on your personal preferences and the type of spa experience you desire. No matter which option you choose, Disney Cruise Line ensures that guests can enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that enhances their overall vacation.

The Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line is undoubtedly a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation. Nestled within the spa facilities onboard, this tranquil oasis offers a range of luxurious amenities and invigorating experiences that promote well-being and indulgence. As you step into the Rainforest Room, you are transported into a world of serenity and natural beauty, where the healing powers of hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, and soothing ambiance combine to create a truly unforgettable retreat.

From the calming atmosphere to the variety of hydrotherapy experiences, the Rainforest Room offers an escape from the daily hustle and bustle of cruising. Guests can unwind in saunas, steam rooms, and aromatherapy showers, or simply relax on heated loungers in peaceful surroundings. The benefits of the Rainforest Room extend beyond physical relaxation, promoting mental well-being and providing an opportunity for quality self-care.

While access to the Rainforest Room comes with an additional cost, it is considered a worthwhile investment for those seeking ultimate relaxation and a moment of bliss. The positive reviews and feedback from guests highlight the exceptional service, serene ambiance, and rejuvenating experiences that make the Rainforest Room a favorite among Disney Cruise Line guests.

It’s important to note that the Rainforest Room is just one of the many fantastic spa offerings on Disney Cruise Line. Guests can also explore other spa facilities, such as the Senses Spa & Salon or enjoy serene areas like the Quiet Cove Pool or Serenity Bay. Each option provides a unique spa experience to cater to different preferences and desires.

In conclusion, the Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line is a true haven of relaxation and wellness. It offers guests a chance to escape, indulge, and reconnect with themselves in a serene and luxurious environment. A Review of the Rainforest Room

Are you thinking about getting a pass to the Rainforest Room on your next Disney Cruise? The Rainforest Room is part of the Senses Spa & Salon on each Disney Cruise ship, which adults can visit at an extra fee.

Disney Fantasy Rainforest Room entrance

Recently I was able to experience the Rainforest Room by purchasing a pass for the length of the cruise on the Disney Fantasy. This is the first time I was able to experience the Rainforest Room so I can only speak to the set-up on the Disney Fantasy and its sister, the Disney Dream. There are various experiences and amenities included in the Rainforest Room including:

4 types of aromatherapy showers

3 types of saunas

10 heated loungers

You are provided with lockers, water, robes, and towels every time you visit the Rainforest Room. Normal attire would be a cover-up and a bathing suit.

When you get on board, head to the Senses Spa & Salon to find out pricing and availability. They sell a limited amount of both day passes and for the length of the cruise each sailing so be sure to prioritize visiting the spa once on board to secure your pass. These sell out quickly, so this was one of the first things I did once on board. An 18% gratuity will be automatically added to the Rainforest Room passes.

Rainforest Room green silicon wristband

Before entering the Rainforest room, have your Key to the World card out and ready to exchange at the front desk for the green wristband that lets you in and out of the Rainforest area. This is an adjustable silicon bracelet so it is waterproof and can also be worn in the steam rooms. Reception will also ask if you would like a robe as well and plus-sized robes are sometimes available upon request. Likewise, if you prefer to bring your own robe or cover-up, that is an option as well.

Rainforest Room Steam Rooms

There are three different types of steam rooms available in the Rainforest Room: Caldarium, Hamam, and Laconium.

Outside each room are hooks to hang your towel or robe before entering. I suggest bringing in a towel with you to sit on. This is for both etiquette and comfort while in the rooms. Nobody wants to sit on somebody else's sweat! Personally, I left my flip-flops outside, wearing them only in the showers and while walking around the area, but that is up to you. Each sauna had the spa music piped in so there was no uncomfortable silence. Remember when entering/exiting the sauna to close the door quickly to maintain the sauna environment.

By far the Laconium was my favorite and I spent the most time in there. The Laconium is a dry sweat room, so the air feels less suffocating while still getting your sweat on. If you're new to saunas, this one would be a great introduction to get accumulated. The combination of natural wood, tile work, and natural lighting creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Unlike the other two rooms which are fully enclosed, the Laconium has a floor-to-ceiling window that looks out to the starboard side of the ship. During sea days, you can get a nice

semi-panoramic views of the ocean so I encourage you to go during non-peak times to snag a spot next to the window.

The Caldarium is very similar to a steam room and is, or feels like, the hottest out of the three. The entire room is ceramic tile and there is little to no light. The air humidity is high, almost 100%, so it can be difficult to feel comfortable in this room as the air is suffocating. This was my least favorite but did get me the sweatiest. Pairing the Caldarium with

the Cool Mist Experience in the showers is my recommendation.

The Hamam is also a steam room that embodies the characteristics of a wet sauna. A Middle Eastern variant of the traditional sauna, I found the seating arrangement in this room to be the most comfortable. The room was spacious, and you had the option to sit upright or lie down. The Hamam was dimly light to maintain a serene feel. In each corner of the room, there were sinks accompanied by wooden ladles and buckets to cool yourself down with water while there. I also found this one relaxing and wished I had spent more time in there.

Rainforest Room Showers

There are four different types of showers in the Rainforest Room: Rainforest, Water Fun, Tropical Thunder, and Cool Mist Experience.

Disney Fantasy Rainforest Room aromatherapy showers

Each of these showers has two or three different settings which vary in pressure, temperature, and lighting effects. There is optimal space to move around in the showers and two of them include a small bench.

The Rainforest option had two distinct shower heads that provided a unique experience in comparison to the other showers. In addition to the traditional rain shower head, there was also a shower head coming out of the wall rather than above your head which mimicked the flow of a waterfall.

Water Fun was just like it sounded, fun. This shower offered three distinct options that leveraged the water pressure and spouts above you.

Tropical Thunder

Tropical Thunder was by far my favorite and one that I kept coming back to again and again. These options replicated the feelings of being in a rainstorm. I highly suggest the Caribbean Storm option as it instantly brought a smile to my face. For 45 - 60 seconds, the shower switched on and off between a dumping of warm pouring rain and a cold mist. Who knew a southern storm could be so peaceful?

Cool Mist Experience

Disney Fantasy Rainforest Room Cool Mist Experience shower

If you ever want to know how Anna felt when she fell in the river in Frozen then this shower is definitely a good start. There are two options to choose from: Cold Mist and Siberian Night. Both shower an artic mist onto you while projecting a cool blue light scheme. These are a perfect option to cool down after stepping out of the saunas. Be warned, this shower is extremely cold, colder than a normal cold shower.

There are two hot tubs located in the Rainforest Room that sit in an open-air room with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides. The hot tubs are spacious but can handle two people max before it gets awkward. The hot tubs have built-in loungers that I personally found uncomfortable to lay in as the proportions were inconsistent with how I wanted to lay. Most of the time I sat up, lying over the edge while looking at the water.

Heated Loungers

By far, the best, most relaxing aspect to take advantage of in the Rainforest Room is the heated loungers, 10 total, which look onto the open-air room that houses the hot tubs. Did I accidentally take the best nap I have ever taken in my entire life on these loungers? Yes, yes, I did. These ergonomic seats are curved to the shape of your body and lined with tiles that provide a warming feeling to soothe your back and muscles. They come equipped with a head pillow and a personal reading light with plenty of space in between individual loungers to sit down and get up without disturbing your neighbor. Personally, I found the heated loungers the best feature of the Rainforest Room.

The Nitty Gritty

Aside from those main features, you will also have access to the locker room located in the Senses Spa area. This locker room is equipped with complimentary lockers to store any valuables you do not want to bring into the Rainforest Room. These lockers open and close via an electronic code so you do not have to lug around an extra key. In addition to the lockers, there are also bathrooms, sinks, hairdryers, mirrors, and showers for your use. The showers are well stocked with Elemis products including shampoo and conditioner. There are also more towels available here if you forgot to grab one from the receptionist.

Disney Fantasy Rainforest Room water counter

Inside the Rainforest Room, you will be greeted with a beautiful running water feature and palm tree mosaic that sets the tone for relaxation. In addition to the towels in the locker room, there is a wall of clean towels inside the Rainforest Room in case you want a fresh, dry one after using the sauna or shower. There is also a bin for dirty towels, so the space is always tidy. On a counter, they offer complimentary ice water and lemon water with paper cups to stay hydrated. If you want to bring in your own water bottle, that is also an option.

Disney Fantasy Rainforest Room promotional announcement

Keep an eye out for any special deals they might have for Rainforest guests! During one of my visits to the Rainforest room, I noticed a special for a complimentary scalp massage and pro-collagen treatment OR a 20% discount on any hair or facial treatment. After my experience, I visited the front desk to check the availability for the scalp massage and they were able to book me for an appointment immediately. The treatment lasted about 15 minutes and although it was complimentary, I did leave a small tip for the service.

What times are the busiest for the Rainforest Room?

Although they sell a limited number of passes to the Rainforest Room there were still times when the space was busy with moments where you might have to wait for a heated lounger or a spot in one of the saunas. Regardless, the Rainforest Room can still be relaxing if you want to purchase a day pass on one of the more popular days. By far I found the busiest times to be on sea days and between the hours of late morning and late afternoon.

women lounging on heated ceramic lounger

However, there were also times when it felt like I was the only one there and had the entire space to myself! There were many instances where I had the Laconium all to myself or there was one other person in a heated lounger. I found the best times to visit were early morning right as the spa opened, port days, and dinnertime. If you are not interested in seeing a particular show or want a quick sauna before bed, the Rainforest Room was open until 10 p.m.

How does the Dream Class differ from the Classics and the Wish?

One thing to point out is the Rainforest Rooms on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy differ in layout and offerings compared to the other ships such as the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, and the Wish. Although newly re-imagined, The Classics are completely indoors without any open-air sections like the Fantasy and do not have hot tubs.

Check out this link to learn more about the offerings on the Disney Wish and how it is configured differently!

The Million Dollar Question: Is it Worth It?

For me, purchasing a pass for Rainforest Room for the length of my cruise was completely worth it. This particular cruise was an 8-Night Cruise with several days at sea. I am also an early riser while on vacation, so it was nice to have a space to go to in the mornings whilst the ship was just waking up. However, unless I am on a relatively long cruise that is not port-heavy again, I do not think I will be purchasing a pass for the Rainforest Room, at least for the duration of the cruise. The question of whether it is worth it depends on how much you think you will be using it which can be influenced by the overall length of the cruise, how many sea days you have, and what activities you want to prioritize. For example, as a repeat cruiser, I have seen the nighttime show Aladdin several times, so I decided to head to the Rainforest Room instead to relax before dinnertime. That said if you are looking for a space to relax and plan on maximizing your time here, the Rainforest Room is definitely worth the upcharge.

Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line

Rainforest-Room on Disney Cruise Line

As you might know by now, Disney Cruise Line is our absolute favorite way to vacation. While it’s a perfect family vacation for kids, there’s so much to do on board for adults, too! Whether it’s an adults-only trip or you’re taking some time for yourself while the kids are in the Oceaneer’s Lab, be sure to take some time to enjoy the adult-exclusive areas and activities. One of our favorite adult-only experiences is the Rainforest Room. In this post, we’ll be talking all about the Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line, including the features on each ship and why we love it!

Disney Magic and Disney Wonder

Disney Cruise Porthole

The Rainforest Room on the classic ships (Disney Magic and Disney Wonders) are different than the Rainforest Room on the Dream class (Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy). The Rainforest Room on the classic ships is a small, private, relaxing area inside Senses Spa & Salon. The area is accessible only to guests who have purchased a pass. The area consists of 2 steam rooms, including an aromatherapy option and 3 showers which have rainforest settings. Lastly, there are warm ceramic loungers which surround a relaxing fountain. These are the perfect spot to rest or enjoy a book (there is even a reading light on each lounger!).

Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy

The Disney Dream

On the two newer ships, the Rainforest Room is a bigger space. The Rainforest Room on the classic ships are completely indoors, but here the location allows for windows with beautiful views. The Rainforest Room here has 3 steam rooms, including one with a panoramic window. There are 4 showers which feature the various rainforest settings. Additionally, the Dream and Fantasy also have 2 hot tubs with open-air windows. This is the biggest difference from the Magic and Wonder. The hot tubs are fairly small and an odd design that makes them suitable for 2 guests, but not as comfortable if you try to fit additional people. The view makes up for it though! Plus, the ceramic loungers are near the hot tubs so you can also enjoy the ocean view from there.

While the space is bigger, the Dream and Fantasy do have more guests on board so the crowd levels should be about the same. However, we do feel the layout is better and the features are nicer on the newer ships. Plus, the Dream and Fantasy have the hot tubs and ocean views that are not available on the classic ships. For these reasons, we personally find that the Rainforest Room is more worthwhile on the Dream and Fantasy.

How to Purchase Passes for the Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line

Passes for the Rainforest are available as a day pass or for the entire cruise. You can purchase a day pass in advance by calling (800) 601-8455 (US Guests) or (407) 566-7000 (international Guests). The length of cruise pass cannot be purchased in advance. If you want the length of cruise option, you should visit the spa on embarkation day. Be aware that an 18% gratuity will be added to all spa services, including the Rainforest Room passes.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Accessing the Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line

A limited number of passes are available for the Rainforest Room on each cruise. In order to keep access to the Rainforest Room private, guests are given a wristband/bracelet that allows them access. You just tap the bracelet to open the door to the Rainforest Room. Each time you arrive at the spa, you will exchange your room key for a bracelet. They will keep your room key at the front desk until you depart the spa and exchange back. This prevents people from being able to take their wristband with them or share with other guests who haven’t paid. If you haven’t purchased a pass for the Rainforest Room but would like to see it, you can visit on embarkation day for a tour!

Rainforest-Room on Disney Cruise Line

Overall, we are big fans of the Rainforest Room! The area is very relaxing and we love to take advantage of the steam rooms, showers, loungers and hot tubs. While we definitely prefer the Rainforest Room on the Disney Dream and Fantasy, even on the Magic and Wonder the Rainforest Room has a lot to offer. If you are looking to include some relaxation in your cruise vacation, this is definitely something you’ll want to consider! Have you visited the Rainforest Room?

Rainforest Room Passes: multiple single day vs length of cruise (Dream & Fantasy)

Earning My Ears

You are correct that the math doesn't make sense. There was a huge jump in the price of the length of cruise pass from my 7-day Dec 2012 cruise at $99 to my Sept 2015 7-day cruise at $144 - single pass. My understanding is the length of cruise pass now includes body scrubs. That's it. I'm with you for my love of the title loungers. I used them alot on my first cruise. This past cruise I pre purchased four one day passes. After my first day, I turned the remaining passes in for a treatment. I still loved the loungers but it was not a peaceful place like my first cruise. People were talking loudly, I think enjoying cocktails on the chairs. While in the steamroom (my second favorite) I had to listen to a couple using the showers, yelling back and forth to eachother their comments about each shower. Again, not peaceful. No staff was there to reinforce the quiet area. I used the rainforest room the day of my treatment with similar experiences. I guess I should have brought my headphones and own spa music. But that wouldn't help me in the showers or steamroom. My advice is to go with the day passes. I hope you enjoy the loungers without the distractions of others!

Mouseketeer.

Your math is correct. It is less expensive to buy single day passes than length of cruise passes for the most part. The cost difference is due to the scrubs included on a length of cruise pass. Interestingly enough, I saw a sign on a recent Dream cruise that offered two types of length of cruise passes - one was a "deluxe" that offered the passes with scrubs. The other was a pass only that was price comparable to single day passes. FWIW, it is much quieter in the Rainforest Room on the classic ships than the Dream class ships.

Wait... Do you mean the "scrubs" are not a spa treatment but just a jar of goop they hand you? Thanks for the tip! I was planning on purchasing the length-of-cruise pass for myself and my adult daughter. Now I'll just buy a collection of day-passes. I had a spa treatment once where you got deliciously scrubbed with a coarse full body masque then baked in a sauna for a while. After the treatment dried, they rubbed it off with moist towels and moisturized you. It was kind of like a facial for your whole body. I guess I thought the price difference for the Rainforest passes was a bargain because it included a spa treatment "scrub" something like that. Thank you, WanderLit

We sailed back to back cruises on the Dream Dec 11-14 and Dec 14-18 2015. I took a picture of the Rainforest Room length of cruise passes sign in the spa on the first day of each cruise. Here is the info from the signs (first part on both signs is the same; only difference are the pricing lines): Rainforest Tropic Showers, Warm Ceramic Loungers, Steam Hamam, Warm Sauna, & Traditional Steam Room 3 Day Singles Cruise Pass - $42 3 Day Singles Deluxe Pass - $69 3 Day Couples Cruise Pass - $75 3 Day Couples Deluxe Pass - $102 ==== 4 Day Singles Cruise Pass - $56 4 Day Singles Deluxe Pass - $101 4 Day Couples Cruise Pass - $99 4 Day Couples Deluxe Pass - $144 ===== The Deluxe passes include scrubs, the other passes do not. There is an additional 18% automatic gratuity added to the above costs. After calling to order multiple day passes in advance, the CM we spoke to convinced me to buy a pass and day passes on board. I am glad we waited until we were on board -- my sister in the end decided she did not want any rainforest room, so we only bought the cruise pass for me; and it is cheaper than 3 and 4 day passes (see math in previous post). Am I the only one who feels like I'm going back in time wrt this order process?! Call or fax?? Why not just have this set up like the excursions are, where we can just book online?? Eesh.

Starwind said: Although in the end I decided to go with purchasing a length of cruise pass on board ship, I did call the # and speak with a CM, originally intending to purchase multiple day passes by phone. After my conversation with the CM, I decided the length of cruise pass was a better and cheaper option for me. However, while on the phone I did purchase two holiday stockings. I told them what I wanted, gave my credit card info (it was charged right away) and the stockings were in our stateroom when we arrived at it. I know multiple people and have read many many posts by people who have bought the rainforest day passes by phone and been very happy [well, aside that they had to call and could not do it online]. To the other poster asking about the 18% gratuity, yes it is charged on one day passes and on the length of cruise passes. SW Click to expand...

hardis5

One thing to remember on doing the math for a three or four night cruise is unless using a day pass after dinner (once all the open houses finish) your first night at sea, you should always buy one day less (assuming you'll use each day).

Changes have been made the operation of the spa to keep Disney Cruise Line in line with the latest health and safety guidelines.

For those unfamiliar, the Rainforest Room features a steam room, sauna, aromatherapy showers and more!  Guests visiting the Room are provided with fruit-infused water, body scrubs and a relaxing environment perfect for washing all your cares away.

For sailings on the Disney Magic which is currently sailing in the UK, the Rainforest Room is only available for one travel party at a time.  The room can accommodate up to five guests for a 45-minute session.  Reservations can be made once you board the ship.

Hurricane Dorian

For sailings on the Disney Dream in the United States, the Rainforest Room follows a similar strategy.  It will only be open for one part at a time but can accommodate up to 10 guests for each 1 hour and 45 minute session.  Again, reservations can be made while you board.

Guests should note that physical distancing guidelines will be enforced at the SPA.

The Disney Wish Rainforest Room

Rainforest Room Disney Wish

By:   Becky Brandle , a Marvelous Mouse Travels agent

When considering a cruise, your first step is usually too narrow it down to a specific cruise line. Everyone wants an experience that best suits their needs and caters to their interests, and many lines are known for a certain “vibe”. When considering the ultimate in luxury and availability of adults only spaces, does Disney Cruise Line come to mind? If not, you’d be so very wrong! Most people equate family with Disney, and that is absolutely true. But the newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet makes adults who appreciate clean design, luxurious details, and kid-free relaxation a TOP priority.

Disney’s Wish made her maiden voyage in July of 2022 and everyone can agree, this incredible ship meets the same high expectations her sisters are known for. No one does customer service, attention to detail, and entertainment quite like Disney Cruise Line, and the Wish is no exception. When a group of excited Marvelous Mouse Travel agents set sail in February, I had the opportunity to go along. Of course I was excited for the food (Donald’s Cantina anyone?!), the shows, and our amazing Ports of Call, above all else, however, I could not wait to check out the adult only spaces!  I’m a mom of four and no matter how much fun we have together traveling as a family, this trip was about experiencing the ship first hand in order to better serve my clients, learning from the other amazing agents on the MMT team, and discovering all that the Wish had to offer adults who wanted a BREAK.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

The Wish was absolutely designed to give adults the opportunity to take their taste buds on a journey (at Palo Steakhouse or Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, the adults only dining experiences), soak up the sun in peace (at Quiet Cove adults only pool), and grab an incredibly beautiful cocktail (at one of the 8 beautifully themed lounges/bars on board). But what I was most anticipating was Senses Spa and the Rainforest Room. Today’s post will focus on these incredible spaces and how they could literally transform your cruise experience.

All Disney Cruise Line ships have a Senses Spa and they are all incredibly worthy of the time and space in the onboard activity budget. But the Wish version has some unique offerings that set it apart from the rest.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Let’s start with the spa. Senses Spa offers high end services and treatments including your typical treatments like mani/pedis, facials and massages. But if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous (treat yo self!) you could check out the Ionithermie Cellulite Reduction Program, Zero Gravity Suite, or even waxing (if you’ve got the time and money, you could leave the ship completely hair-free. No judgments here.) Every possible way you can imagine to be pampered, you can schedule it during your Wish voyage and expect the ultimate in professionalism from staff and technicians, immaculate and stunning treatment rooms, and the Disney difference. A full list of services and pricing can be viewed on Disney Cruise Line’s website, or on the app during your sailing.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

If you want to take your relaxation to a whole other level, you’re going to want to discover Disney Cruise Line’s best kept secret in adults-only luxury: the Rainforest Room experience. Every ship has a limited access area attached to Senses Spa. The Disney Wonder and Magic Rainforest Rooms have recently been re-imagined and are very similar in their layout and size. The Fantasy and Dream have much larger spaces, but then again, there are larger ships. Limited day passes ($79) or cruise passes (pricing available on board) are sold each sailing, so no matter the size of the Rainforest Room you’re enjoying, crowding is a non-issue. What sets the Disney Wish Rainforest Room apart is the first ever OUTDOOR extension with hot tubs, swings, and loungers. It truly does feel like a hidden open air oasis to escape absolutely everything in.

Rainforest Room Ice Room

The inside space of the Rainforest Room features a steam and dry sauna, as well as an ice room, aromatherapy showers, heated loungers with privacy curtains and reading lights, and swings above a calming pool.

Rainforest Room Disney Wish

Typically passes are sold by the day or for the entirety of your sailing, however when I purchased mine on the first day of the cruise, I was told only full cruise passes were currently being sold. It’s my guess that this is based on how full the ship is and expectation of sellout, but there doesn’t seem to be a specific policy covering this. Just be prepared to budget for full cruise access, especially if sailing during off season and this experience is a must-do for you (it totally should be!).

Every adults only space onboard the Wish is impressively dedicated to the chosen theme, meticulously detailed in ways you’ll keep discovering, and created to remind adult cruisers that not only is it okay to enjoy yourself on a family vacation, you DESERVE to. Feel zero guilt as you let your children enjoy the amazing programs designed just for them, and make sure to explore ALL the things this beautiful ship has to offer!

Experience the Rainforest on Your Disney Cruise

8/10/2021   |   Cruises , Reviews

When cruising, I recommend treating yourself to the Rainforest Deluxe Cruise pass.  This fantastic spa package is available on all sailings and includes unlimited access to the scented showers, aroma steam, sauna rooms, and private jacuzzis.  Depending on your Disney Cruise ship, you can also enjoy the warm loungers that overlook the ocean (Disney Dream and Fantasy cruise ships) or relax and unwind with the tranquil sounds of water in an exclusive relaxation room (Disney Magic and Wonder cruise ships).  This package also includes scented body scrubs of your choice to use to exfoliate while enjoying the Rainforest showers and saunas.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

No appointments are necessary for you to use your Rainforest Spa package.  Simply check-in with your stateroom key at the front desk.  Your attendant will give you your scented body scrubs and loofa, as well as your Spa bracelet that allows you access to the Rainforest.  Next, you will head to the locker room where you will change into your swimwear and find cotton robes and waterproof sandals (if you didn't bring your own).  Lockers are available free of charge so you can secure your personal belongings while you enjoy the Rainforest.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

On the Disney Dream and Fantasy, the Rainforest Room has the Laconium (a dry sauna), the Caladium (a hot steam room) and the Hammam (a large, tiled steam room that is not as hot than the regular steam room), four scented showers with multiple “rain” programs, numerous heated loungers with views of the sea and two hot tubs on a private deck overlooking the water.

In the Rainforest Room on the Magic and Wonder, there are three tiled saunas, each having a different temperature.  You will find open showers with different scented “rain” programs.  Those amazing, tiled heated loungers are also available to relax, unwind and read a book if you desire.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Rainforest packages are limited and can be purchased for individuals or couples. Pricing varies based on the length of your cruise and passes can be purchased for a single day or for the length of your cruise.   You must be at least 18 years of age to utilize the spa services.

A Disney cruise is the perfect way to relax and unwind.  A trip to the Rainforest at the Senses Spa is another dash of "pixie dust" on a memorable Disney vacation.

Rainforest Room on Disney Fantasy

Modified: Jul 18, 2019 by Stefanie Fauquet · This post may contain affiliate links · 13 Comments

The Rainforest Room on Disney Cruise Line is the best spa bargain at sea!

There's no doubt that Disney Cruise Line's Senses Spa is the most relaxing spot on the Disney Fantasy.

Once my daughter was secured at Oceaneer Club (having a blast, mind you), I had a block of time to myself and made an appointment for the Rainforest Room -- a heat, steam and hydrotherapy circuit that was guaranteed to relax my mind and body. The cost for this experience? A mere $16.

Rainforest Room Senses Spa

Rainforest Room

My jaw dropped when I heard the price. "Really?", I asked. This was a first for me. I don't think I've ever been so shocked about how inexpensive a day pass to the spa was.

For an extra $11, I was offered a DIY scrub in my choice of Vanilla Orange, Chocolate Peppermint, Lavender Herbal or Tangerine to enhance my experience.

Since we were still only talking $27, I selected the Lavender Herbal Salt Scrub (which also came with a loofah for application) and I was on my way to a relaxing afternoon.

After a brief tour of the facility, I was guided to the women's locker room and handed a robe and sandals for use in the spa. Since the Rainforest Room is co-ed, all guests must wear a swimsuit.

I decided to go by the recommendation of one of the spa staff members and spent 10-15 minutes in each of the saunas, with a visit to a different shower between each session.

I started with the "Rainforest" shower (the warmest of the four showers) and then spent 10 minutes in the Laconium (dry sauna). I followed this with the "Water Fun" shower (my favorite -- has a great mix of warm/cool water and aromatherapy with three different pressure settings) and then 15 minutes in the Caldarium (steam room).

rainforest room showers

Next up for the showers was the "Tropical Storm", which I also enjoyed. There are two settings in this shower which mimic a "Southern Storm" and a "Caribbean Storm" -- Each shower experience is enhanced with the use of lights, scents and sounds and was incredibly invigorating!

My final treatment room was the Hamam (steam bath), which is where I was instructed to apply my lavender scrub and to let it sink into my skin.

After 15 minutes, I rinsed off the scrub (my skin glowing, by the way) and showered in the "Cool Mist Experience".

The showers go from warmest to coolest, with the Cool Mist "Siberian Night" setting being downright chilling -- I should have known by the name!

Part of the experience of the Rainforest room is allowing your body to adjust to the warmer saunas and colder showers, so that is becomes revitalized.

I say, mission accomplished!

Once you've had your fill of the showers & saunas, the next area is one of pure tranquility. Overlooking the ocean, a row of heated tile beds and two spa jacuzzi await you in a separate area that can only be described as "blissfully calm".

I took a 10-minute dip in one of the whirlpool tubs, followed by a 30 minutes nap on a mosaic tile lounger. I could of sleep here for hours!

This is how I like to cruise.

rainforest room hot tub

In total, I spent around 2 hours in the Rainforest room at the Senses Spa and consider it to be a bargain at $16 (or $27 with the optional scrub).

If you buy your pass in the morning, you can come back as much as you'd like throughout the day with complimentary use of the spa amenities, including the locker rooms and showers with beauty products -- great perk after a day at the pool or a few runs on the AquaDuck!

I didn't have time to book a treatment, but the spa menu was extensive with choices for everything from massages and facials to mani/pedis, and even acupuncture. The prices were on par with other cruise lines, if not a little better. For example: a 45-minute fire and ice manicure was only $50 ... I don't think that's bad at all!

I enjoyed my experience at the Rainforest so much, I will be booking a multi-day pass on my next Disney Cruise. The Rainforest room is available on both the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream.

Rainforest Room Update

Since writing this article, it seems the only way to get a single spa day pass for $16 (plus gratuity) is to pre-purchase by CALLING 800-601-8455 before your cruise once you have your booking. I was told that you can purchase as many single day passes as you'd like to guarantee availability versus waiting to book the length of cruise passes on board.

You do not have to select a day when pre-purchasing 1-day Rain Forest room passes, you simply exchange the voucher at the spa on the day you want to use it.

Once onboard, length of cruise passes are available for the following rates, plus 18% gratuity (prices subject to change):

Single Rainforest Room Pass:

  • 3-Day Singles Rainforest Pass – $69 + gratuity
  • 4-Day Singles Rainforest Pass – $101 + gratuity
  • 7-Day Singles Rainforest Pass – $ 144 + gratuity

Couples Rainforest Room Pass:

  • 3-Day Couples Rainforest Pass – $102 + gratuity
  • 4-Day Couples Rainforest Pass – $144 + gratuity
  • 7-Day Couples Rainforest Pass – $ 193 + gratuity

Which Disney Cruises Have the Rainforest Room

Though this post features the Rainforest Room on the Disney Fantasy, the Rainforest Room is a part of Senses Spa on all of the Disney ships, which include Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

On Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream, there are hot tubs with views outside the ship.

Sounds down right AHHHHmazing! Gotta keep this in mind for whenever my family decides to go on our first Disney Cruise!

Sounds wonderful and I agree a very good price . wow!

That looks heavenly...can't believe how cheap it is! I remember wanting to do a spa treatment for our honeymoon on another cruise line and it was SO much!

Looks like my kind of place!

I can see that the Wonder RainForest room is very nice. I tried this on the Disney Magic, and was disappointed. Their attendents were not helpful in explaining how you might enjoy the showers - hot and cold. There is no hot tub. There are only 4 heated loungers, so you really can't stay there with a good book, as others will come in wanting to relax. I didnt like the steam room and the medium sauna was very hot and the mild sauna not hot enough.

Been to the Senses Spa Rainforest my past 2 times on the Disney Dream. First time it was right after I turned 18 and I went on the cruise for my senior trip and last time me & my husband went on our honeymoon. Most relaxing part of the cruise! My first time in the spa I won the iniothermie(I think that's what it's called) wrap. Lost 2 inches around my waist, it would've costed me atleast $200. It was alright and good that I got it for free, but personally if you want it, just save your money. Not worth paying that much for it! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the full pass to the Rainforest so you can go everyday, whenever you want to. I can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep in those stone chairs! I'm going on the Fantasy 7 Night cruise for the first time this coming up August with my whole family and I'm looking forward to the spa! The only problem is that I can't find the price for the full-week Rainforest pass...on the Dream it was $100 for couples and I think $70 for single, but it was 4 nights. Still worth it though!

A lot has changed and scrubs are no longer included! 🙁

It's been awhile since I was on a Disney Cruise - Do you have any other info on what has changed in the Rainforest Room or spa?

August 24, 2019 at 11:06 pm

I recently pre purchased a single day rainforest pass for $34.22!

Hi Jessica,

You're the first person to mention the price increase 🙁

Rainforest Room Disney Wish – Is It Worth the Cost?

Sharing is caring!

Looking for the ultimate in relaxation on Disney Wish? You can certainly find it in the Rainforest Room.

All of the Disney ships have a Rainforest Room but the one on Disney Wish is by far the largest and most luxurious.

An Overview of the Rainforest Room on Disney Wish

The Rainforest Room on Disney Wish is located on Deck 5 in Senses Spa.

It is the only Rainforest on any Disney ship that has both an inside and an outdoor area.

Although the Rainforest on both Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy does have a section that is open to the outside as part of the area with the hot tubs is not screened in, it is only on Disney Wish that you will find a truly open area.

You can book online ahead of time, or go straight to the Spa as soon as you board and ask about availability

First, you check in at the reception desk at the Senses Spa. They will take your Key to the World and give you a wristband that will access the Rainforest.

They have robes behind the desk – if they don’t offer you one then just ask.

There are changing rooms available with showers, a sauna, and lockers.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

There is also a small waiting room where you can sit if you have booked a spa treatment.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Like many things on Disney Wish you access the Rainforest Room down a long corridor!

Fortunately, unlike the other Rainforest Rooms, there are bathrooms inside – otherwise it’s quite a long walk back down that corridor!

disney magic cruise rainforest room

What Will You Find in the Rainforest?

disneywishrainforestpicture

There are a total of eight hot stone chairs. They are all separated by a privacy curtain.

The chairs are particularly nice as they have their own individual attached pillow and reading light.

Sometimes it is difficult to actually get comfortable on hot stone chairs as the angle they force your neck to be in means having an elaborate system of rolled-up towels to support you! However, the pillow really made a difference to comfort levels.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Another interesting feature in the Wish Rainforest Room was these two large swinging chairs.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

They were on a raised platform and the floor had shallow, warm water that you could dip your feet in.

Well at least think that was the point! Whilst these chairs looked inviting in reality I didn’t find them very comfortable and others didn’t seem to either. I never saw anyone spending any time on them.

Although they looked good I think they were probably a bit of a waste of a large space.

There were three rooms off the main inside area.

The most intriguing one was the cold room. I had been looking forward to this as the one I had experienced when sailing on Norwegian Bliss was a really good contrast to the sauna.

However, this room just really wasn’t particularly cold! It was just a bit like having the air conditioning on a bit too high.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

The Sauna and Steam Room were both a good size and kept at a good temperature.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

Another nice feature of the Disney Wish Rainforest is that the indoor area has natural light.

There are windows near the hot stone chairs where you can see to the outside.

disneywishrainforestfeatures

Disney Wish Rainforest Outdoor Area

Probably the best feature of the Disney Wish Rainforest is the huge outdoor space.

There are two hot tubs, two showers, and lots of seating.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

I know that some guests have thought that it was a strange choice to have the area open to above so that people can look down on you when you are using this area in the Rainforest.

However, it really didn’t bother me at all as I rarely saw anyone actually looking down. There really isn’t much foot traffic around that area on Deck 6.

disney magic cruise rainforest room

There are good amounts of shade available, including in the hot tubs.

They are of a really good size and do not have the strange design that they are on Fantasy and Dream in the Rainforest.

It was great to alternate between the indoor and outdoor areas of the Rainforest on Disney Wish.

disneycruiserainforest

What is the Rainforest Like on the Other Disney Ships?

How Much Does It Cost?

For a 4-Day Length of Cruise Pass, the price for the Rainforest is $190 per person. There is an 18% tip added automatically which takes the price up to $224 per person for 4 nights.

Sometimes there are Day Passes available and these cost $79 per person. With the automatic gratuity, the cost is $93.

There is no discount for couples as there used to be on the other Disney Ships.

You can also purchase a scrub for $15. I have never felt this was worth it as the price is very high for such a small amount of scrub. Try and remember to bring your own on board!

Is the Rainforest on Disney Wish Worth The Price?

This is a difficult one as this is not an inexpensive option. I usually treat myself to The Rainforest although I have stopped doing this on Disney Magic and Wonder as I just think that the price is too high for the limited facilities that you get.

The Rainforest on Disney Wish is pricey. And the maximum number of nights you have on the cruise is 4 (unless you are doing a back-to-back).

There is a lot to do on Disney Wish and it can be difficult to find enough time to enjoy the Rainforest enough to give you a sense that you are getting anywhere near your money’s worth.

However, it is a wonderful place to relax. But you will need to balance the cost against how much you are really going to use the space.

Comparing the Disney Cruise Ships

D isney cruises are popular for many reasons – for their family-friendly amenities, attention to detail, and commitment to providing family magic.

If you are a regular reader here, you know that I’m an avid cruiser on the Disney Cruise Line. After three sailings on the Disney Fantasy , one on the Disney Wonder , seven on the Disney Dream , and one on the Disney Magic , I’ve had the chance to experience Disney’s newest ship – the Disney Wish , twice. If you are considering a trip on the Disney Cruise Line, you may be wondering what is the best Disney Cruise Line ship for your family vacation.

It’s difficult to answer that without looking at the various itineraries as well as comparing the sizes, restaurants, amenities, and more on the Disney Cruise ships. Here are our comparisons.

Disclosure: I’ve been on one complimentary media preview cruise as well as two cruises as part of Disney Social Media Moms. The rest of my cruises were at my own cost. All opinions are my own.

Check prices of Disney Cruise Line Sailings here .

Itineraries on the Disney Cruise Ships

Before deciding which ship to sail on, you’ll definitely want to look at the various itineraries offered. After all, a Mediterranean cruise is much, much different than an Alaskan cruise. Itinerary and ports of call really should be your first consideration when deciding which ship on the Disney Cruise Line fleet you’ll want to sail on.

The Disney Fantasy always leaves from the Port Canaveral cruise port and sails on seven-day itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Ports include Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, the US Virgin Islands, and of course, Castaway Cay .

The Fantasy’s sister ship, the Disney Dream, used to leave from Port Canaveral but now departs from Miami for part of the year. The Dream also has sailings from Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, New York, and Europe.

The other two ships, the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic have typically traveled around a bit more. Itineraries (especially in the winter) change year by year, but the Wonder typically goes to Alaska, while the Magic has itineraries departing from San Diego, Miami, Galveston, New Orleans, and San Juan.

Miami cruise port to Castaway Cay and Key West . That itinerary was so much fun, and the four-day trip was the perfect amount of time for our girls’ trip.

Once you look at the itineraries, you’ll definitely have a good idea of which Disney Cruise Line ship you’ll want to be on, especially if you plan to travel on an itinerary that only one ship offers.

Size of the Disney Cruise Ships

There are currently three different classes of Disney Cruise Ships. The original ships, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are called the Magic class and are smaller. These ships accommodate a maximum of 2,700 passengers.

The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are the Dream class ships, which accommodate a maximum of 4,000 passengers. The new Triton Class ships (the Disney Wish) also accommodate 4,000 but are a bit bigger in Gross Tonnage.

The smaller ships definitely do feel more intimate but don’t have as many amenities.

Restaurants on the Disney Cruise Ships

While all of the dining rooms on the Disney Cruise Line are fun and offer lots of delicious food options, they do vary by ship. Animator’s Palate, as well as the premium, adult-only Palo, are offered on all original four ships.

Each of the original four ships has a French-themed restaurant, although the names and themes are different. There are also three incredibly fun-themed restaurants – Tiana’s Place on the Disney Wonder , Arendelle on the Disney Wish, and Rapunzel’s Royal Table on the Disney Magic. In addition to dinner, you’ll also be entertained while eating at these three restaurants.

Each of the ships offers free ice cream, as well as a premium coffee bar. They all have various snack options available throughout the day, including pizza, sandwiches, and salads. The Disney Dream also offers a premium ice cream/dessert spot, called Vanellope’s. Everything in Vanellope’s is offered at an additional fee.

In addition to Palo, there are other adult-only restaurants on some of the ships. The Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream offer Remy, while the Disney Wish has Enchante.

For breakfast and lunch, each of the four original ships has the Cabanas buffet, with both indoor and outdoor seating. On the Wish, there’s Marceline Market, which is similar to a buffet but with servers plating the food.

Bars and Lounges on the Disney Cruise Ships

While most people travel with kids on the Disney Cruise Line, there are still bars and lounges that adults can enjoy. Since many kids will likely spend much of their time in the phenomenal kids’ clubs on board, adults will have lots of opportunities to visit the adult-only areas.

The Disney Fantasy offers a whole area of the ship called Europa, filled with European-themed bars and lounges. Ooh La La, a champagne bar, is my personal favorite.

The Disney Dream ship features the District, which is similar to Europa. It’s located in the same area of the ship, and has similar bars. Instead of Ooh La La, their champagne bar is called Pink. My favorite bar of all the ships is the Meridian Lounge, which is located between Palo and Remy on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

The Disney Wonder and Disney Magic also have bars and lounges. The Wonder has the After Hours adult area with several lounges. In most cases, the bars and lounges are open to kids during the day, but are adult only in the evenings.

On the Wish, two of my favorite bars are the Bayou, and Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge. These two themed, unique lounges are great for a drink before or after dinner.

Programming at these bars, including games and entertainment, is sometimes offered – check your Disney Cruise Line app for details.

Staterooms on the Disney Cruise Ships

While there are some differences between the staterooms on the ships, for the most part, they are very much alike. They offer similar features, and while they are small, they are also comfortable.

My family of four regularly stays in a Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah, and we find it to be enough room. We don’t spend too much time in the room because there’s so much to do on the ship.

The Disney Wish, Disney’s newest ship, offers even more concierge rooms than any of the other Disney cruise ships.

Amenities on the Disney Cruise Ships

All of the ships offer a number of amenities that families will love. These ships were clearly built with families in mind.

Each ship offers a pool deck with splash areas and the Funnel Vision signature television screen showing Disney movies throughout the day. On the Disney Fantasy and Dream, you’ll also be able to go on the Aquaduck water coaster. It’s so much fun, and you’ll want to go more than once.

While the Disney Magic and Wonder don’t have the AquaDuck, the Disney Magic does have the AquaDunk, a high-speed water slide tube. The Disney Wish has a new coaster, called the AquaMouse.

There are also sports decks with various amenities, depending on the ship. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have sports simulators, but you’ll need to make reservations for that in advance.

The ships also all have kids’ clubs, Senses spas , hot tubs, shops, and much more. I also recommend walking around the ship when you first arrive so you can learn about everything that is available to you.

Activities on the Disney Cruise Ships

Each of the ships offers lots of activities, including first-run Disney movies in the movie theater (the Wish has two theaters) and Broadway-style stage live shows in the Walt Disney Theater. The shows do vary by ship, but I’ve seen all of them and everyone is fantastic.

My favorite show is currently Frozen, which plays on the Wonder.  A close runner-up to that is a new Beauty and the Beast show that runs on the Disney Dream. Other newer shows are Aladdin on the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Wish, the Little Mermaid on the Disney Wish, and Tangled on the Disney Magic.

Other activities include family and adult game shows, beverage-tasting seminars, Bingo, and animation classes. There are also Disney character greetings on every ship. Check the Navigatornapp to see the full schedule of events.

Ships typically have a pirate night during one night of the cruise. It’s so much fun – definitely go to the fireworks if there’s a pirate night during your cruise.

On the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream, kids will love the Midship Detective Agency. This free game lets you become a detective while finding clues throughout the midship section of the boat. When my kids were younger, we’d accompany them on their quest. Once they were a bit older, they loved the freedom of doing it on their own.

The Disney Wish has a new augmented reality experience, called Disney Uncharted Adventure. It works with the app, and ends with a live event.

So, what is the best Disney Cruise Line ship?

My personal favorite is the Disney Fantasy, the second-newest ship in the fleet (for now). However, that was the first Disney ship that I traveled on, so I’m not sure if that’s why it’s my favorite.

Others really love the Magic. As a smaller ship, it’s definitely more quaint and it’s easier to walk around. I do love the shows on the Magic, as well as the restaurants.

It’s really hard to say which is the best Disney cruise ship because they are all great!

What is your favorite Disney Cruise ship?

Frequently Asked Questions

All of the ships have teen clubs and other great amenities. My teens loved the Disney Wish, which also has the Hero Zone which is where you can play basketball, ping pong, and other sports indoors. But when choosing a ship for teens, I’d focus on the itinerary first.

As someone who sometimes cruises without my kids, I appreciate the adult-only sections. My favorite adult-only area is Satellite Falls, an outdoor sun deck area that is on the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream.

I also really love the Rainforest Room in the Senses Spa on the Disney Wish. While all of the ships have Rainforest Rooms (for an additional fee), the one on the Wish is the largest and has a great outdoor area.
