Grecos on Crete

Recreation in Crete is in the catalog of this travel agency from the very beginning. At the moment, the vast majority of the 44 hotels offered are concentrated around the four main cities located in the northern coast area: Chania, Heraklion (east coast towards Malia and Hersonissos), Rethymno and Agios Nikolaos. Unfortunately, Grecos's offer is relatively poorly represented in the southern part of Crete. With the exception of a few hotels in the vicinity of Ierapetra, the coast of Crete from the Libyan Sea is virtually absent from the offer of this tour operator.

Over the past few years Grecos Holiday has focused strongly on the development of new new Greek destinations such as Lefkada, Lesbos and Kefalonia. Unfortunately, this did not mean a dynamic change of the leisure offer in Crete, which has been relatively stable for several years and mainly based on a range of previously checked hotels.

One of the interesting elements that appeared in the Grecos Holiday offer was the offer of a combined holiday under the name (7 + 7), in which a two-week holiday in Crete was divided between two hotels located within two different regions of the island. It was a perfect proposition for people who did not want to spend their whole holiday in one place. Unfortunately, this form of rest at the moment is no longer offered by Grecosa.

Outlets to Crete

In 2015, outflows are carried out from nine Polish cities: Bydgoszcz (only Heraklion), Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Poznań, Rzeszów (only Heraklion), Warsaw, Wrocław, Szczecin (only Heraklion). Flights usually take place once a week and are served by popular charter airlines Enter Air and Small Planet.

The length of the booking covers only the most popular weekly and two-week stays. Quite a small flexibility of terms is the result of a relatively limited network of connections.

Grecos in numbers

Unfortunately, Grecos Holiday was not willing to disclose his last year's statistics to us. Therefore, we had to use the data for 2013, which were the only ones available on the internet (ranking of travel agencies Rzeczpospolita). The number of tourists who used Grecos Holiday services during that period was over 90,000. However, based on the dynamics of revenue growth, it can be expected that last year the number of clients using the services of this office certainly exceeded 100,000 people. Of course, only some of these people were tourists spending their holidays in Crete.

The insurance guarantee provided for the period from September 2014 to September 2015 is PLN 45 million and is 5 million more than in the previous year.

Wiem, w tym roku planuje wrócić na Kretę, już po raz trzeci. Co prawda jestem zwolenniczką organizowania wypraw do Grecji we własnym zakresie - i podróżuję po Grecji w ten sposób. W tym roku zorganizowałam na przełomie kwietnia i maja objazdówkę po Grecji - na własną rękę - piękna i trochę męcząca trasa i - wrzesień to czas na odpoczynek i czas na Kretę - tam wracam jak do domu. Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Już od 6 lat wakacje spędzam z Grecosem co roku na innej wyspie. Jednak Kreta jest najpiękniejsza i tam wracam w tym roku. Poprzednim razem była Kreta wschodnia a teraz będzie zachodnia.

Byłem z Grecosem na Krecie pod koniec maja 2015. Bardzo sobie chwalę organizacje jak i rezydenta (Michał). Wszystko sprawnie załatwiane, fajne wycieczki objazdowe (Balos i Samaria).

Hotel Platanias Village, który na 2015 był odnowiony. Perfekcyjne warunki (standard pokoi, wyżywienie), barmani, który z nami do 12 w nocy rakije pili :)

W hotelu w tym czasie Skandynawowie i Polacy średnia wieku 50 lat, do tego cztery pary z Polski w wieku ok 30, bardzo sympatycznie spokojnie, cicho. 

Pod koniec była mała miła/niemiła niespodzianka, otóż zostaliśmy poinformowani, że wylot przełożony został o 24h, z jakich powodów nie wiem. Na początku nie było nic wiadomo o przedłużeniu doby hotelowej, ale po telefonach do Grecosa ustalone zostało, że bedą dodatkowe pokoje na ten jeden dzieńza które zapłaci organizator, także biuro prawidłowo się zachowało.

Grecos-Kreta

Ja w lipcu wybieram się z Grecosem (pierwszy raz z tym biurem) na Kretę wschodnią. to już drugi pobyt na Krecie. Generalnie uwielbiam Grecję, szczególnie wyspiarską. Wcześniej byłem po stronie Krety zachodniej w miejscowości Geranii (super miejsce dla osób szukających raczej spokoju) Hotel Silver Beach mogę z czystym sumieniem polecić biura Rainbow tours, przeglądałem ofertę Krety pod kątem południa gdyby ktoś napotkał taką ofertę proszę o podpowiedź :-).

Południe Krety

Niestety oferty biur podróży na południe Krety są naprawdę dosyć skąpe. Z tego co pamiętam i wiem to w latach ubiegłych Itaka miała i w dalszym ciągu ma kilka hoteli w okolicach Plakias. Grecos natomiast miał jakąś niewielką ofertę wyjazdów w rejon Ierapetry. I w zasadzie to byłoby chyba na tyle. Gdyby ktoś znał inną ofertę to my również poprosimy o informacje.

Ogólnie jeśli chodzi o tę część Krety to naszym zdaniem najlepszym rozwiązaniem jest samodzielne organizowanie wyjazdu. Będziesz mógł wybrać dokładnie ten rejon i dokładnie ten hotel, który będzie Ci najbardziej odpowiadać. Oczywiście taki sposób wyjazdu ma też swoje minusy ... z własnego doświadczenia wiem, że nie jest tanio.

No bez przesady, na południu jest mnóstwo apartamentów, nawet w lipcu i sierpniu da się znaleźć dwójkę za 35 - 40 euro za noc, jak pójdziesz do tawerny na kolacje to my nie jesteśmy zjeść za więcej niż 30-35 euro, na pożegnanie dostaniesz deser i spiją cie raki, jak chcesz śniadanie to za kilka euro zjesz naprawdę dużo - to tak drogo? To zupełnie inna bajka niż hotel - prowadzący Asteras Apartaments w Xerocampos prawie codziennie przynosiła nam upieczone w domu ciasto do spróbowania, wino własnej roboty - choć oczywiście prowadzą tylko noclegi. My nie oszczędzamy a w die osoby mieścimy się w 1000 euro - wydanym na miejscu + przelot i samochód. Pewnie w jakiejś wyprzedaży da się taniej - ale czy tylko o taniość chodzi??

Piotr o jakości nie dyskutuję. Samodzielnie skomponowane wakacje a wyjazd wykupiony z biura to zupełnie inna bajka. Nawet sam odbiór Kreteńczyków jest zupełnie inny. Gościnność jest dużo większa a uśmiech na twarzy dużo bardziej szczery.

Jeśli jednak chodzi o koszta wyjazdu (tylko patrząc przez pryzmat kieszeni) to w pewnych sytuacjach wyjazd z biura może być tańszy i po prostu wygodniejszy. Głównie chodzi tu o przypadki biernego wyjazdu, kiedy nie nastawiasz się na jakieś wielkie zwiedzanie. Jadąc z BP nie interesuje Cię transfer z i do lotniska. Samochód możesz wypożyczyć na 5-6 dni, albo i wcale. To w pewien sposób redukuje Twoje koszty wyjazdu. Za 3-4 tysiące od osoby + drobne wydatki na miejscu możesz mieć kompleksowe wakacje. I choćby właśnie z tych względów rozumiem, że ludzie wybierają Touroperatorów. A czy będą tak fantastyczne jak własny wyjazd ... to zależy od ludzi i ich potrzeb (dla mnie to byłby koszmar :D).

Dużym problemem pozostaje znalezienie naprawdę dobrego hotelu który w ofercie biura podróży nie ma jakiejś bandyckiej ceny. Zapewniam Cię jednak że da się to zrobić i przy wczesnej rezerwacji można złapać coś fajnego w dobrej cenie. Pisze przy wczesnej rezerwacji bo o lastach w okresie lipca i sierpnia w ostatnich sezonach możesz zapomnieć.

Inna sprawa, że od kilku lat widzę wyraźne kurczenie się oferty solidnych hoteli ze śniadaniami lub tylko obiadokolacjami. dwa hotele w których byłem kilka lat temu wypadły z oferty. W zasadzie tylko z przyzwyczajenia przeglądam katalogi i strony BP oraz śledzę ceny wyjazdów. To chyba takie moje osobiste hobby. Praktycznie prawie wszystko co jest w biurach to coraz szersza wypoczynku typu AI w coraz wyższych cenach. Mi się to zupełnie nie podoba, nie należę do grona takich odbiorców i nigdy tego typu wyjazd nie wydaje mi się kuszący. Dlatego w tym roku znów wybiorę samodzielne wakacje, ale na razie jednak nie nastawiam się na konkretne miejsce.

No właśnie pisałem że my wydajemy na dwa tygodnie te 6 - 7 tyś na dwie osoby - przelot 1200-1400zł, samochód ok 1200zł plus na miejscu 700-800 euro - tak nam wyszło w zeszłym roku. Więc nie jest drożej niż te 3-4 tyś /osobę w BP.Oczywiście część ludzi musi mieć wszystko zaplanowane z góry - i wtedy wyjazd zorganizowany ma przewagę.  Ale jak ktoś wykazuje minimum zdolności organizacyjnych to nie ma problemu - przyjeżdżasz do miejscowości, idziesz na sałatkę do knajpy z Wi-Fi, otwierasz Booking.com i już wiesz gdzie iść spytać o nocleg - i jeszcze możesz dostać bonus - w Lasithi Eco Park np dostaliśmy w tym roku w cenie z oferty dodatkowo śniadania. A nie jesteś ograniczony ofertą która np na południu jest wyjątkowo uboga - Plakias, Aghia Galini i Irapetra. W takim Lentas, Sugii, Lutro czy Tsoutsouras nie ma nawet hoteli - tylko kwatery i tawerny. A prowadzący kwatery naprawdę traktują przyjezdnych jak coś pośredniego pomiędzy klientem a gościem.

Greece Looking to Increase Tourist Flow from Poland

Ways of increasing the tourist flow from Poland to Greece will be explored by Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and Polish Deputy Economy and Development Minister, responsible for tourism issues, Andrzej Gut-Mostowy .

Theoharis left for Poland on Thursday prior to the official opening of Greek tourism on May 14. He is expected to meet with Minister Gut-Mostowy on Friday.

While in Poland, Theoharis will also speak to major Polish media and meet with representatives of leading tourism organizations including Beniamin Vafidis , Marketing and MICE Director of Mouzenidis ; Pawel Niewiadomski , President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism and the European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Association (ECTAA) ; Marcin Dymnicki , CEO of TUI Poland; Adam Banczerowski, Director of Business Development at Itaka; Maciej Nykiel , CEO of Nekera; Wojciech Skoczyński, CEO of Grecos Holidays, and Michal Fijot , Chief Commercial Officer of LOT Airlines .

According to the Tourism Ministry’s data, Poland is Greece’s fifth tourism source market as more than 1 million Polish travelers visit the country every year.

It is reminded that Greece is  officially opening to tourists on May 14  with no quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers or those with a negative PCR test.

Strongsville Rotary members prepare for trip to Poland to help Ukrainian refugees

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Aid from Northeast Ohio will soon be on its way to help Ukrainian refugees. On Saturday, Pat Greco and Brian Krusz will travel to Poland to hand deliver donations and provide support in whatever capacity they can.

Both men belong to the Strongsville Rotary Club, which began collecting donations for Ukraine after its invasion by Russian forces. Greco, a retired Strongsville firefighter and paramedic, has been on a number of international humanitarian trips in the past 24 years.

“When this started happening, I felt the need to go. There was a lot of second thought because of the emergent nature of it, but then I said, ‘No I’m going to go,’” Greco said of the crisis in Ukraine.

When he told his friend about his intention to travel to Poland, Krusz quickly volunteered to join the mission.

“Absolutely, I’m going to step up and do what I can and try to set the best example I can for my two boys,” said Krusz, a Strongsville business owner and former Marine. “Marines are the first in and the last out. And what we’ve been trained for is to do that and help.”

The men plan to begin their 10-day journey in Warsaw, before traveling to Krakow and then on to more rural areas near the Ukrainian border. They’ve been coordinating their efforts with Polish Rotary clubs and other Northeast Ohio connections already on the ground, and recognize their plans are fluid.

“We are actually lining up a day of help with a doctor from Cleveland. And we’re going to be working in a medical clinic, somewhat close to the border,” Greco said.

Krusz added, “Whether it’s passing out hugs or helping in a soup kitchen or passing out supplies or organizing any way that we can.”

According to the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, Poland has taken in more than 2.5 million displaced Ukrainians as of April 6. An additional 6.5 million people are displaced from their homes, but still inside Ukraine. Near the country’s border, trains have been packed and traffic backed up with fleeing families.

“It’s definitely unsettling. The whole genesis, at least for my decision, is that I was inspired by what I saw, by the Ukrainian president, by the Ukrainian government, by the people of Ukraine,” Krusz said. “One day they’re happy and healthy and the next day it’s: leave, get out of here. And they’re kind of fleeing for their lives.”

Between the Rotary Club Foundation, business and individual donations, more than $50,000 will arrive in Poland with Greco and Krusz. The pair is also bringing four checked suitcases full of medical supplies and other gear to distribute.

“Something needs to be done,” Greco said. “While I can’t fight, I can bring humanitarian relief, whether it’s financial or medical supplies, and pitch in and help.”
