Seal trips with Bishop’s Boats.

See the seals in their natural environment, basking on blakeney point or swimming freely around the boat..

Seal on Blakeney Point

The best way to see the wildlife on Blakeney Point is to enjoy a seal trip , with Bishop’s Boats. Blakeney Point has one of the largest Grey seal colony’s in England, and thousands of breeding Sandwich terns that migrate there every March until late August. Common seals spend a lot of time hauled out on the sandbank where they have their pups from June until the end of August. Our boats spend plenty of time getting close to the seals which will either be basking on Blakeney Point or popping up around the boat. This is closest you will ever get to see seals in their natural habitat.

Our friendly and knowledgeable crew will guide you throughout your trip on the beautiful North Norfolk water.

Well behaved dogs are welcome (at our discretion). For passenger comfort, Bishop’s Boats operate a non-smoking policy on-board

For all bookings to see the seals, please be aware that we are operating at a reduced capacity for passenger safety and comfort. Please have a quick look at our FAQ’s and news page for the latest information.

“ Superb trip – informative, relaxing and fun   Myself and my two sons aged 10 and 12 took an 8.30 trip in late August on Bishop’s Boats. The whole experience was 10/10…”
“ A Fabulous Experience.   Although we have been to this area on holiday several times, we have never taken a boat trip to see the seals. …”
“ Lots of seals   We had the choice of several boat trips, really glad we chose this company.”…

  • Tern Colonies

Having collected your tickets, we will direct you down to catch our red and white boats, either The Four Sisters, or Morston Ferry.

The boats will take you out to Blakeney Harbour, with the fully qualified crew on board able to share their local knowledge with you. The seals, both Common and Grey will normally be basking on the end of Blakeney Point.

We have mostly common seals in the summer months, who have arrived at Blakeney Point in order to have their pups. The pups start arriving about June, and will continue through until the end of August.

The Grey seals have their pups in the months of November and December, so Christmas is a good time for viewing if you wrap up warm!

They are very inquisitive animals, so will often swim around the boat. This is a perfect time for photographs, so don’t forget your camera! The views are stunning, and what better chance to breathe in the fresh air of the North Norfolk coast.

The trip is a unique experience for all ages – a rare opportunity to visit wildlife in its natural surroundings.

On the way home we also take the chance to land you on Blakeney Point when the tide allows, which is a chance for a leg stretch on a beautiful strip of beach.

You will have time to walk to the old Lifeboat house which is now an information centre owned by the National Trust.
