PHOEBE BRIDGERS Announces Dates for 2022 ‘Reunion Tour’

Phoebe Bridgers has announced more live shows as part of her Reunion Tour. The acclaimed singer/songwriter had a busy 2021, with 4 GRAMMY nominations, multiple late night TV performances – including a smashing debut on Saturday Night Live  – a sold out Fall tour, multiple festival appearances, two songs for charity (“ That Funny Feeling ” and “ Day After Tomorrow ”) and collaborations with Taylor Swift, The Killers, Paul McCartney, Metallica and more. Most recently, she received Billboard’s 2022 Women in Music Trailblazer Award and revealed plans for her own monthly radio show, Saddest Factory Radio, on Sirius XMU. Now, she’s getting ready to go back on the road, this time, taking her critically acclaimed Punisher album to audiences across the United States and Canada, as well as to the UK and Europe for the very first time.

Phoebe Bridgers 2022 Reunion Tour

Praise for Phoebe Bridgers’ Reunion Tour 2021:

“The casualness with which Bridgers regarded certain aspects of the proceedings belied a tight, expert 80-minute set that delivered on all key counts, most especially purely musical ones…It did get loud. But if you’re somebody who hungers for acoustically based music but finds most of it too milquetoast, Bridgers is the cure for that. Like Aimee Mann before her, she can do finger-picking songs barbed enough to draw blood.” – Variety

“The baseline of Bridgers’ success, though, is her bottomless well of spectral, trembling ballads about depression and yearning and alienation, many of them collected on Punisher, the 2020 album that elevated her to celebrity status and crystallized her as a key influence and archetype in modern music. As a headliner for a festival of Pitchfork’s focus and scope, there could hardly be a more obvious choice.” – Stereogum

“Bridgers is easily slotting into a tradition of indie greats that came before her, that moved to big rooms with comfort. The sturdiness of her songwriting is holding up to the new challenges.” – Uproxx

“Bridgers brought her A-game, impressively making the 7,000-seat, open-air venue feel like an intimate bedroom.” – American Songwriter

“With these first up-tempo tracks, we see Bridgers has grown comfortable with the tour’s setlist (this was their penultimate show), but also the ease in playing her hometown, at a venue at which she saw shows growing up, just miles away from the Rose Bowl. A deep nostalgia and pride characterize the show atop her already wistful discography.” – Music Connection

Like Aimee Mann before her, she can do finger-picking songs barbed enough to draw blood.” - Variety

“The baseline of Bridgers’ success, though, is her bottomless well of spectral, trembling ballads about depression and yearning and alienation, many of them collected on Punisher, the 2020 album that elevated her to celebrity status and crystallized her as a key influence and archetype in modern music. As a headliner for a festival of Pitchfork’s focus and scope, there could hardly be a more obvious choice.” - Stereogum

“Bridgers is easily slotting into a tradition of indie greats that came before her, that moved to big rooms with comfort. The sturdiness of her songwriting is holding up to the new challenges.” - Uproxx

“Bridgers brought her A-game, impressively making the 7,000-seat, open-air venue feel like an intimate bedroom.” - American Songwriter

“With these first up-tempo tracks, we see Bridgers has grown comfortable with the tour’s setlist (this was their penultimate show), but also the ease in playing her hometown, at a venue at which she saw shows growing up, just miles away from the Rose Bowl. A deep nostalgia and pride characterize the show atop her already wistful discography.” - Music Connection

Phoebe Bridgers Kicks Off 2022 “Reunion Tour” in Phoenix: Recap, Photos + Setlist

Our 2020 Artist of the Year kicks off her long-awaited North American tour with an off-the-cuff yet highly polished performance

Phoebe Bridgers Kicks Off 2022 “Reunion Tour” in Phoenix: Recap, Photos + Setlist

Black and orange were the dominant colors inside Arizona Federal Theatre — the perfect palette for Phoebe Bridgers , a singer who dresses like a skeleton and sings “Halloween.” Projections of orange and purple crescent moons covered the sides of the dark theatre, while a crimson set of drapes bordered the stage’s ceiling like red icing on top of a dark chocolate cake. The vibe was moody, almost funereal; the show itself was anything but.

Bridgers opened her “Reunion Tour” ( grab tickets here ) on Wednesday, April 13th in downtown Phoenix in front of a packed crowd. The night started with a brief opening set by her pal Christian Lee Hutson ; backed by a rhythm section, he delivered an excellent performance. The songs were mellow and pleasing to the ear, but rarely shifted past first gear — no real highs or lows, just a sustained singer-songwriter vibe to nod along to.

At the end of Hutson’s set, he mentioned that Bridgers had produced his albums , then invited her onstage to sing backing vocals on his song “Rubberneckers.” It was a neat surprise, and you could feel the energy in the room percolate from Bridgers’ drive-by singing.

Bridgers and her band then walked onstage to the smooth, dulcet hooting of Disturbed’s “Down With The Sickness.” Her bandmates wore the signature skeleton suits, while Bridgers wore a dark dress covered in so many sparkles it must have been a Lisa Frank sticker in a past life. They launched into “Motion Sickness” as rope lights hung overhead and a projection of a starry sky filled the darkness behind them. It was a beautiful opening, but would soon be eclipsed by the one-two punch of “Garden Song” and “Kyoto.”

Phoebe Bridgers Concert Review

“Garden Song” introduced the tour’s most arresting visual motif: a giant floating pop-up book that would appear for most of the songs, opening up to reveal a new Punisher -inspired landscape with each tune. It’s one of those ideas that is so immediately appealing and simple and clever that it begs the question: how the hell has this not been done a hundred times already?

Meanwhile, things ran just as smoothly on the A side of A/V. The band was tight, Bridgers’ voice was in fine form, and the set was blessedly free from any sound gremlins wrecking havoc with the mix.

Bridgers had an easy rapport with both the audience and her bandmates, riffing between songs and responding gracefully to people’s shouted requests and I-love-yous. “I straight up don’t know that song — I don’t know her,” she said to one fervent request.

Phoebe Bridgers Concert Review

Teeing up the live premiere of a new song called “Sidelines,” Bridgers teased one of her bandmates: “Are you nervous? It’s not like anybody’s filming this. It’s not like it’s going to be on the internet forever.” Naturally, as she said this, the number of glowing phone screens aimed at the stage exponentially increased.

Other visuals accentuated her performance: a trio of stained glass windows descended for “Funeral” while ghostly images of dirt-bike riders and bull-riders flickered behind the band during “Sidelines,” and Bridgers and her band put on crowns to play “Punisher.” The visuals helped enliven some of the slower, more somber numbers in the setlist. Bridgers is a gifted songwriter with a deeply affecting voice, but some of her songs just aren’t much fun to listen to in public. Having a large pop-up book that looked like a lost level from Katamari Damacy hovering over the band helped keep things light.

Bridgers ended on a high note, with a three-song encore that included a song by Boygenius (the power trio of Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus). All in all, the “Reunion Tour” managed to somehow feel both off-the-cuff and highly polished, a tricky balancing act that she and her bandmates pulled off with ease. All things considered, this show was far and away the least awkward reunion this writer has ever been to.

Bridgers is next headed to  Coachella , then will resume her headlining tour with a show in Las Vegas, NV at The Amp at Craig Ranch on May 13th. Tickets for that gig, and for the rest of the tour, are available via Ticketmaster .

In late June, Bridgers tour crosses the Atlantic, where she’ll play shows in Ireland, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, France, and the UK in addition to her previously announced Glastonbury appearance.

The tour heads back over to North America in August, with visits to Washington, British Columbia, Oregon and California, wrapping with This Ain’t No Picnic Festival.

After a busy 2021—4 Grammy nominations, a debut appearance on SNL, a sold-out Fall tour, collaborations with Taylor Swift and The Killers, and more—Phoebe Bridgers isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The 27-year-old singer/songwriter has announced dates for her upcoming Reunion Tour that will take her across the United States and Canada, as well as to the UK and Europe for the very first time.

The spring tour will kick off on April 13 in Phoenix, Arizona, making stops in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Houston, Tampa, Washington DC, and New York, before heading overseas to Dublin, Madrid and Paris, and London. Bridgers will wrap the tour back in the states on August 28 in Los Angeles, California.

One dollar of every headline show ticket sold will be donated to The Mariposa Fund, fiscally sponsored by The West Fund, which helps pay for undocumented people trying to obtain reproductive health services, including abortion.

Verified Fan Presale begins Thursday, March 10th at 12pm local time.
