We have implemented safety precautions for the safety of everyone that steps on the boat. Hand sanitizer will be available by us. Masks are optional and the choice of each guest. The boat and fishing gear will be sanitized before and after each trip.

What to bring.

YOU WILL NEED A VALID TEXAS FISHING LICENSE FOR ALL PERSONS OVER 17 YEARS OF AGE.

There is a cooler provided on the boat - but you are welcome to bring another small one if you like. You can also bring snacks. Alcohol is allowed, just no glass bottles. NO BANANAS! You may want to pack some sunblock and lip balm.

All deposits are non-refundable. If the trip is canceled due to weather conditions, we will do whatever possible to reschedule at the most convenient time for you and us. If not at all possible, we will then send a full refund.

In-shore Fish Species

The two types of flounder species are summer flounder and southern flounder. Both these species require a lot of patience when fishing. They love slightly warm temperatures. When it is too cold or too hot, the flounders hide. They feed on the shallow waters at night and hide into the deep waters when the sun comes up. The summer flounder is very aggressive as compared to the southern flounder and fishing it needs more patience.

The speckled trout is one of the best fish species in the world. It is not only a favorite delicacy fish for many but also a great trophy fish especially for fish anglers. It is dark gray with some few blue reflections and spots scattered on the back and sides. On its upper jaw, it has two canine teeth and other small teeth in its mouth. The dorsal fins are different with the larger ones having around ten spines and the smaller ones with one spine.

Redfish fishing is one of the most common fishing activities by anglers in the United States. The large variety of redfish schools give anglers greater chances of finding the bulls they want. The large red bulls are a challenge to catch to the anglers. They are a unique species and like almost all redfish species, they have different defensive weapons to free themselves once they caught. My family had a blast on our jetty fishing trip! Captain Jerry has a great heart and quick wit and was a pleasure spending a few hours with on the boat. We caught plenty of fish in all the species we were hoping for. The Captain’s expertise and friendly connections made sure we found the ‘hot spots’ to keep on catching! The highlight of our trip was hooking into a large Jack Crevalle and orchestrating a team effort to land it after a good fight. We also enjoyed catching plenty of speckled trout, sheepshead, redfish, and catfish. As catch and release fishermen, we appreciated the extra care spent in making sure all our catches were handled correctly and released quickly in order to not disrupt their health. A unique part of this charter was the included “first mate”, who was fantastic at helping us keep our lines in the water with fresh live bait, and netting our catches. The boat itself is very comfortable and large, with shade to retreat to if needed and a proper toilet, which was a huge selling point for my mother. Our experience with this charter was amazing, and we would absolutely book them time and time again if we find ourselves back on the island. Thanks y’all for the memories! Erin McG (Photos below)

Stretching out over five miles long and separating Bolivar island from Galveston Island, the jetties provide a safe harbor for ships coming into port. During your trip at the jetties, your Captain will focus on various wrecks and structures where large fish populate.

Meet Captain Paul

Paul Fischer is a dedicated, licensed captain with the United States Coast Guard. He holds a one-hundred-ton master’s license and has been fishing the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay complex for the past seventeen years.

One of his favorite things to do is share this passion for fishing with others. He has gained an impressive amount of knowledge and expertise by working on a wide variety of commercial and charter fishing boats. His knowledge of fish and their habitats gives him the ability to adapt to different conditions out on the water and give his customers the best experience out on the water.

Captain Paul’s enthusiasm makes it a good time for everyone onboard.

Geaux Fisch Charters operates a 36-foot Contender which is one of the smoothest boats on the water. The Geaux Fisch has been completely updated in 2022-2023. Upgrades include brand new triple 300 Yamaha outboard motors, a walk-in bathroom (head), extra-large fuel tanks for our long-range trips,  and an impressive electronics system which features top of the line fish finding and navigation equipment.  

The boat also has top of the line safety gear required for an offshore charter boat including EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicator Radio Beacon), VMS (Vessel Monitoring System) Life Raft, In-reach satellite texting device, and VHF Radio. The features of this boat guarantees everyone aboard will have not only a safe trip, but an unforgettable experience out on the water.
