Boston Jolly Jaunt

On Saturday, December 2nd, runners and walkers gathered on the Boston Common to take part in the 13th annual Boston Jolly Jaunt. This professionally timed flat 5k course through Boston’s Back Bay not only had a fun holiday theme with prizes for best costume and jingle bells for each participant, but also a goal to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts!

Thanks to all who donated and all of our Johnny’s Angels team members. Together, we were able to raise over $23,000 for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Cheetah Medical, King & Bishop, Finish Line Staffing Services, Flagship Harbor Advisors, CTA Construction Managers, Whitridge, Aviva Labs, Brightcove, Feeney Bros. Excavation and Avanti Insurance and Tax Service.

Special Olympics Massachusetts would be nowhere without the generous support of our community. The most impactful way to make a difference is through one of our many fundraising events. Not only will you raise critical funds for the organization, you will also help spread awareness and inclusion through conversations with your donors.

People on the snow training

Show your friends, family and network how inclusion changes lives

The role of fundraiser is so important to the work that Special Olympics Massachusetts does across the commonwealth. It aligns perfectly with our goal of bringing inclusion to every community. As a fundraiser, you will support the organization with financial resources, that are so important to our mission of providing inclusive sports at no cost to the athletes or their families. But, and perhaps more importantly, you will be playing the role of ambassador, introducing and welcoming new people to the world of Special Olympics. Through conversations with potential donors, you will share your Special Olympics story – why you are involved and helping bring the joy or sport to the disability community. Every year we see new donors turn into volunteers, or even fundraisers themselves. As one of the people sharing the mission of Special Olympics, you will be rewarded with top quality fundraising events and opportunities like the Polar Plunge, 5K races on some of the oldest streets in America, playing cornhole alongside the athletes you are supporting, running the Boston or TCS New York City Marathon or the Asics Falmouth Road Race.

Ways To Fundraise

boston jolly jaunt 5k

Polar Plunge

Brrrave the cold and take the Plunge to support more than 14,000 athletes of all abilities in sports training and competitions offered year-round by Special Olympics Massachusetts. Everyone is invited to participate in the Plunge and it’s one of the most inclusive fundraisers we put on with athletes, coaches, unified partners along with friends, family, schools, colleagues, and community members all rallying to support inclusion.

boston jolly jaunt 5k

Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) program is one of the most important year-round fundraising initiatives supporting Special Olympics Massachusetts. Each year torch run officers host fundraisers across Massachusetts including: tip-a-cops, Polar Plunges, truck pulls, dodgeball tournaments, and 5Ks.  Since it’s inception in 1981, the Law Enforcement Torch Run program has raised over $900,000,000 globally. In 2022, Massachusetts LETR raised over $558,341!

Help to create a community where opportunities are not limited by disabilities while striving to attain your personal best by joining the Xtra Mile. Your fundraising will help to provide year-round inclusive sports opportunities throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, while you discover new levels of strength, endurance, and performance. The Xtra Mile has access to some of the biggest endurance fundraising events including the Boston Marathon, B.A.A. 5K, Falmouth Road Race, and the TCS New York City Marathon.

There are limitless ways you can offer support

Over the Edge

For almost 20 years, the Bio-Ball community has shared a commitment to inclusion, sport, and fun while supporting a great organization. Teams made up of life sciences professionals (sponsored by their companies) and Special Olympics basketball teams compete in a March-Madness-style basketball tournament while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for inclusive sports programming in Massachusetts.

Business and industry fundraising events

Companies large and small have shown their support for the athletes of Special Olympics through in-house fundraisers or tapping their networks to host large industry-wide events that build community and financially.

DIY Fundraising

Special Olympics Massachusetts is honored to have many dedicated community members who take it upon themselves to raise money for the organization, a local team or family member. There are a ton of ways to fundraise and increase community awareness including your favorite 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, birthday fundraisers, or creative challenges that speak to your interests or goals. Let us know what you are thinking, and we can help you get started.
