How to reach Dubai cruise terminal

Where do msc cruises’ ships dock in dubai.

MSC Cruises’ ships dock at Port Rashid , also known as Mina Rashid , when stopping in Dubai. The address is: Hamdan Bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal 3, P.O. Box 6769, Port Rashid, Dubai, UAE .

The cruise terminal is located around nine kilometres from the Old City of Dubai , where you can find a number of historical souks, the Dubai Museum , and traditional dhow cruises along Dubai Creek . It is also located within 20 kilometres of Jumeirah Beach and downtown Dubai, where you’ll find the majority of Dubai’s most famous attractions, such as the Burj Khalifa tower and Dubai Mall .

How do I get from Dubai Airport to the cruise port?

Dubai International Airport is located around 16 kilometres to the east of the cruise port. The easiest way to reach the cruise terminal from Dubai Airport is to request an MSC transfer service via the MSC call centre.

Taxis are also abundant at Dubai Airport and should take around half an hour to reach the cruise port, no matter which terminal you fly into. A taxi from the airport to the cruise terminal should cost around £30. There are also two metro stations at Dubai Airport (Airport Terminal 1 and Airport Terminal 2) which you can use to get to Al Ghubaiba (Change at Union), the closest station to the cruise terminal. The metro costs around £3.

How do I get to the Dubai cruise port by train?

While there is no overground train service in Dubai, there is a metro that you can use to get to the Dubai cruise port – it’s seen as being one of the cleanest and most reliable metro systems in the world. The closest metro station to the Dubai cruise port is Al Ghubaiba , located around a 30-minute walk or a short taxi ride away from the cruise terminal. Al Ghubaiba station is on the Green Line , although most of the tourist attractions in Dubai – as well as the airport – are located near stops on the Red Line . If coming from the airport, change to the Green Line at Union station, or if coming from Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall or Dubai Marina, change at Burjuman Metro Station.

What can I do in Dubai in one day?

Dubai is positively bursting with first-rate sights and attractions to enthral visitors. You could easily spend a few days exploring, although you can also tick off some fantastic sights and activities in just one day. If you have just one day in Dubai, you could head downtown to go to the top of the Burj Khalifa , the world’s tallest skyscraper, which offers panoramic views of the city amongst the backdrop of the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Desert . You can then explore nearby Dubai Mall , which has an array of shops, but also houses an indoor theme park, an aquarium and underwater zoo, and an ice rink. After stopping for lunch, head to Burj Al Arab , an iconic hotel shaped like a sail, sitting on a beach. After grabbing photos and taking a quick dip in the warm waters, head over to the Old City of Dubai , which has a more traditional feel. Here, you can browse various historical souks and markets, and stop for dinner in one of the many restaurants along Dubai Creek before heading off for an evening cruise on a dhow, a traditional masted ship used by merchants of the region for centuries.

What is the weather like in Dubai?

Sitting on the coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula, Dubai has a hot and arid desert climate . The hottest months are typically in summer , with average daily high temperatures of between 40-41°C from June to August. Meanwhile, the coolest months of the year, from December to February , would be considered hot in many other parts of the world, with average daily highs of between 24-26°C. And as you’d expect from a desert city, it rarely rains in Dubai, with the wettest months – December through to March – averaging just one day of rainfall per month. With low humidity, Dubai’s hot climate often feels more pleasant than many tropical destinations, while the city is full of air-conditioned shopping malls and museums, so you can comfortably escape the heat whenever needed.

Is Dubai expensive?

While Dubai is known as being typically more expensive than most tourist destinations across the globe, it is possible to experience this fascinating city on a small budget. There are many free things to explore, including the city’s most popular bathing spot – Jumeirah Public Beach – and a number of parks, including Zabeel Park , home to the famous Dubai Frame .

You can also spend hours walking around the souks of the old town, taking in the sights and scents, or strolling along Dubai Creek .

Is there a beach in Dubai?

Dubai sits on the Persian Gulf and has a wide range of beaches to choose from. One of the most popular is Jumeirah Public Beach (also known as Nessnass Beach ), which has become a firm favourite with families. Sunset Beach is also a fine option for those wanting an early evening dip (a chance not to be passed up), while Kite Beach is the go-to for kite-surfers and other adventurous types.

To the north is Al Mamzar Beach Park , a large complex with several beaches alongside swimming pools, making it ideal for families with young children. Those are just a few of the options on the table – you won't be short of choice when it comes to brochure-worthy beaches.

See what it'll be like living on this 4-month cruise sailing around the world in 2026 with one of the world's largest cruise lines

  • MSC Cruises opened bookings for its four-month 2026 world cruise set to sail to 32 countries.
  • Cabins range from $15,800 to $38,210 per person.
  • Several startups have failed to deliver residential cruise ships that would circumnavigate the world.

Insider Today

Several residential cruise ship startups have been postponing or failing to deliver on their promise of a never-ending global cruise. But that doesn't mean travelers who have bought into these aspirations have no other opportunities to spend extended time at sea aboard a ship.

A handful of recognizable companies operate annual world cruises . While they aren't exactly floating condominiums, these ships still sail for several months, allowing travelers to visit dozens of countries without boarding a single flight.

This includes MSC Cruises, which opened bookings for its 2026 world cruise aboard the MSC Magnifica on Wednesday.

msc cruises dubai photos

Unlike any concept residential vessel , a cabin won't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Instead, the price to sail ranges between $15,800 to $38,210 per person for an interior cabin and Aureau suite respectively, an MSC spokesperson told Business Insider.

Unlike most world cruises, MSC’s itinerary has four roundtrip embarkation options from January 4, 2026, through January 7, 2026.

msc cruises dubai photos

But don't expect to board in Florida — MSC is a primary player in the European cruise market. Because of this, travelers will have to embark in either Civitavecchia and Genoa, Italy; Marseille, France; or Barcelona, Spain.

From there, the MSC Magnifica would spend the next four months sailing to 47 ports in 32 countries.

msc cruises dubai photos

Its itinerary also includes seven overnight stays in destinations like Honolulu, Hawaii, and Manila, Philippines.

Throughout the 36,000-nautical-mile journey, MSC says the Magnifica and its up to 3,223 globetrotting travelers will cross the Equator twice.

msc cruises dubai photos

After everyone has boarded, the ship is scheduled to sail across the Atlantic Ocean to Caribbean and Central and South American destinations like Willemstad, Curaçao, and Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.

The ship would then journey up the Pacific Ocean to US cities like San Francisco and San Diego, California.

msc cruises dubai photos

Following a few days in the US, MSC says the ship will head into its next transoceanic crossing for the Australasia leg of the vacation. There, travelers would relax in warm weather destinations like Apia, Samoa, and Sydney, Australia.

The itinerary then shows the Magnifica sailing north to spend three weeks in Asia.

msc cruises dubai photos

Travelers are scheduled to explore East and Southeast Asian countries like Japan, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

Following this, MSC says the globetrotting travelers will be off to Middle East destinations like Muscat, Oman, and Aqaba, Jordan.

And after a two-day journey through the Suez Canal, the ship's final unique destination is set for the Greek island of Crete.

msc cruises dubai photos

After over 100 days at sea, the ship would finally head back to the same ports travelers embarked on almost four months ago, concluding this around-the-world journey.

There are over 60 scheduled sea days with no stops.

msc cruises dubai photos

If it's not obvious yet, this itinerary was not designed for the casual cruise goer.

People who can't stomach four months on a ship can instead book segments of this itinerary ranging from 32 to 47 days long.

During these extended sailing days, guests can explore the 964-foot-long ship's activities.

msc cruises dubai photos

Imagine spending afternoons at the bowling alley, putting at the mini-golf course, or lounging around the indoor pool with a retractable roof.

The cruise ship also has the expected five restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, and a 1,200-person theater.

No need to pack 119 days of clothes. Guests can pay for laundry services.

msc cruises dubai photos

At least food and drinks will be included in the fare. Hope you enjoy cruise ship buffets and wines — liquors and speciality restaurants aren't included.

If sailing around the world is on your bucket list, you’re not alone.

msc cruises dubai photos

MSC's global itineraries have historically been a hit with travelers: Its upcoming 2024 world cruise is now sold out, according to the cruise line's spokesperson.

Dubai early disembarkation question

By compman9 , December 13, 2022 in MSC Cruises

Cool Cruiser

Appreciate some help with this, not getting anywhere with MSC.

Our cruise ends with two days in Dubai, and our airline's ticketing options only have availability on a half past ten at night flight. This would mean a full day with suitcases after disembarkation.

Can we leave the day before at around 7pm?

With MSC not in the US you can stay longer on the ship. Sometimes we stay until 5 pm on the ship and disembark at 5.30 pm. You have to look with quest service/YC Concierge what's possible on your ship.

The UAE cruises have some different T&C's applied to them. You can disembark from the time the ship docks till next day way up on the day, or way early if your flight demands. You'll need to empty your cabin but you'll be given plenty of time to leave the ship. Either way the Dubai authorities don't want people wandering inside either way port buildings or the airport. Please contact guest services during the cruise and they'll guide you. They'll have a pretty much permanent buffet set up from the time the ship docks to next sailing's sail away time.

This year we had Fri/Sat on the ship in Dubai before flying back with Emirates.  On the Friday we were able to check in our baggage at the cruise terminal.

It's entirely possible to leave the ship earlier than your scheduled time. You need to complete paperwork onboard to do so and ensure your account is fully paid.

Have you considered luggage storage options. We've been to a couple of cities with similar a similar scenario and have placed our luggage in a storage space for the day. Lots of hotels etc offer the service. Store my bag dot com or something like that.

Thank you for the advice.

The problem is, I cannot leave this until I get on the ship. If they refuse my request to leave on arrival day, I won't be able to change flights to accommodate this.

I have spoken to MSC, and they have said in a very hard to understand accent, "it might be possible."

Ah, on arrival day? I was thinking you're talking the 2nd day, excuse me! As I said; you can exit from the time the ship docks. My group had a 9:00AM flight on the last day that meant we needed to go out of the ship by 5:00AM. We asked our cabin steward to not open the 3rd bed in cabin nor service the cabin by the evening once we had that moment to rest a little bit before the long night; went to the buffet at 4:00AM, then out of ship on our bus to the airport as appropriate. Exit at 3:00PM for a 7:00PM flight, no worries. They do it pretty much everyday on those sailings; you just need to inform GS of your needs!

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard seizes Israeli-linked container ship near Strait of Hormuz

Commandos from Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard rappelled down from a helicopter onto an Israeli-affiliated container ship near the Strait of Hormuz and seized the vessel Saturday, the latest in a series of attacks between the two countries.

The Middle East had braced for potential Iranian retaliation over a suspected Israeli strike earlier this month on an Iranian consular building in Syria that killed 12 people, including a senior Guard general who once commanded its expeditionary Quds Force there.

The Israeli war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip meanwhile is now 6 months old and is inflaming decades-old tensions across the whole region. With Iranian-backed forces like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Yemen’s Houthi rebels also involved in the fighting, any new attack in the Mideast threatens to escalate that conflict into a wider regional war.

Iran’s state-run IRNA said a special forces unit of the Guard’s navy carried out the attack on the vessel, the Portuguese-flagged MSC Aries, a container ship associated with London-based Zodiac Maritime.

Zodiac Maritime is part of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group. Zodiac declined to comment and referred questions to MSC. Geneva-based MSC later acknowledged the seizure and said 25 crew had been aboard the vessel. IRNA said the Guard would take the vessel into Iranian territorial waters.

U.S. bracing for potential Iranian response to attack attributed to Israel

U.S. officials say Iran appears to be lining up a series of potential retaliations against Israel.

April 12, 2024

Earlier, a Middle East defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, shared a video of the attack with the Associated Press. In it, the Iranian commandos are seen rappelling onto a stack of containers on the deck of the vessel.

A crew member on the ship can be heard saying: “Don’t come out.” He then tells his colleagues to go to the ship’s bridge as more commandos come down on the deck. One commando can be seen kneeling above the others to provide them potential covering fire.

The video corresponded with known details of the MSC Aries. The helicopter used also appeared to be a Soviet-era Mil Mi-17 helicopter, which both the Guard and the Houthis of Yemen have used in the past to conduct commando raids on ships.

Israeli airstrike demolishes Iranian Consulate in Syria, kills two Iranian generals

Syrian media say an Israeli airstrike destroyed the Iranian Consulate, an apparent escalation against military officials from Iran, which provides support to Hamas.

April 1, 2024

The British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations described the vessel as being “seized by regional authorities” in the Gulf of Oman off the Emirati port city of Fujairah, without elaborating.

The MSC Aries had been last located off Dubai heading toward the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. The ship had turned off its tracking data, which has been common for Israeli-affiliated ships moving through the region.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz called on nations to list the Guard as a terrorist organization.

Iran “is a criminal regime that supports Hamas’ crimes and is now conducting a pirate operation in violation of international law,” Katz said.

For days, Iranian officials including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have been threatening to “slap” Israel for the Syria strike .

Israel has been preparing for the possibility of a direct attack from Iran and is ready “for any scenario,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday.

“Whoever strikes us, we will strike them. We will defend ourselves against every threat and we will do this calmly and with determination,” he said.

The U.S., Israel’s main backer, has stood by the country despite growing concerns over Israel’s war on Gaza killing more than 33,600 Palestinians and wounding more than 76,200 others. Israel’s war began after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people and saw some 250 others taken hostage.

The Pentagon said Saturday that Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin IIIs poke with his Israeli counterpart “and made clear that Israel could count on full U.S. support to defend Israel against any attacks by Iran and its regional proxies.”

Iran since 2019 has engaged in a series of ship seizures and attacks on vessels have been attributed to it amid ongoing tensions with the West over its rapidly advancing nuclear program.

Since November, Iran had dialed back its ship attacks as the Houthis targeted ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. Houthi attacks have slowed in recent weeks as the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan ended and the rebels have faced months of U.S.-led airstrikes targeting them.

April 11, 2024

In previous seizures, Iran has offered initial explanations about their operations to make it seem like the attacks had nothing to do with the wider geopolitical tensions — though later acknowledging as much. In Saturday’s attack, however, Iran offered no explanation for the seizure other than to say the MSC Aries had links to Israel.

However, Iran in the past largely has avoided directly attacking Israel, despite it carrying out the targeted killing of nuclear scientists and multiple sabotage campaigns against Iran’s atomic sites. Iran has however targeted Israeli or Jewish-linked sites through proxy forces over the decades.

Earlier this week, Guard Gen. Ali Reza Tangsiri, who oversees Iran’s naval forces, criticized the presence of Israelis in the region and in the United Arab Emirates. The UAE reached a diplomatic recognition deal with Israel in 2020, something that long has enraged Tehran.

“We know that bringing Zionists in this point is not merely for economic work,” Tangsiri reportedly said. “Now, they are carrying out security and military jobs, indeed. This is a threat, and this should not happen.”

Iran vows to ‘punish Zionist regime’ for strike on its embassy attributed to Israel

The commander of Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard warns ‘our brave men will punish the Zionist regime’ after an attack on the Iranian Embassy in Syria.

The Gulf of Oman is near the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf through which a fifth of all globally traded oil passes. Fujairah, on the United Arab Emirates’ eastern coast, is a main port in the region for ships to take on new oil cargo, pick up supplies or trade out crew.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa Group said on Saturday it had extended the suspension of its flights between Frankfurt and Tehran through Thursday and said its planes would avoid Iranian airspace in that period. The German carrier also said that, until at least Tuesday, flights to and from Amman will be operated as “day flights” so crews can return to Frankfurt without spending a night in the Jordanian capital .

Dutch airline KLM said in a statement Saturday that it will no longer fly over Iran or Israel, but will continue flights to and from Tel Aviv.

Gambrell writes for the Associated Press. AP writers Nasser Karimi in Tehran, Stephen Graham in Berlin and Thomas Adamson in Paris contributed to this report.
