Journey Church Orlando has become my home away from home, and I can't sing its praises enough. From the get-go, the messages have been an absolute game-changer. They're not just well-taught but also delivered with a refreshing transparency that makes you feel connected. Love, care, and support are woven into every word, and the absence of negative undertones sets the tone for a genuinely uplifting experience. Let's talk about Pastor Jj - this guy is truly God sent. His teachings resonate, and you can feel the passion behind every word. It's evident he genuinely cares about the congregation's well-being, and that authenticity makes a world of difference. He inserts a lot of humor making the sermons fly by! Coming from a church where the pastor used his pulpit as a way to take on his personal vendettas on members and airing out everyone's secrets, journey has helped heal my church hurt. The staff deserves a standing ovation. Friendly doesn't quite capture it--they're genuinely welcoming. Walking into the church feels like coming home to a big, loving family. Safety is a top priority here, and that sense of security is priceless. As a parent, the children's church process has been a game-changer. It's not just about keeping the kids occupied; it's about giving parents peace of mind. Knowing that your little ones are not only cared for but also engaged in a meaningful way during the service is a huge relief. Now, let's talk small groups. It's like they've thought of everything. There's a group for almost every situation imaginable, and if you don't find what you're looking for, they actively encourage you to help create it. It's a community that thrives on inclusivity and actively involves its members in shaping their own experiences. In summary, if you're on the lookout for a church to call home, Journey Church Orlando is the answer. It's a place where the messages inspire, the pastor leads with unwavering solidity, the staff feels like family, safety is a given, and the community actively encourages you to be a part of shaping its future. Pleased doesn't quite cover it--I'm downright grateful to have found this incredible community. Five stars and then some!

Great place to attend for worship very relatable. Easy to understand, keeps you engaged, very uplifting and positive.

Journey is not just a church it is a community. I have been attending for 1 year now and the people are warm and welcoming. The church services are 9am, 10:45, and 12:30. Every Sunday and our mission this year is Pray first so they have Saturday morning prayer 9-10am. I love journey and anyone you ask will say the same! If you are looking for a church please give us a try you won't be disappointed with our amazing pastors.

Entry

I attend and serve at East Campus, it has a family atmosphere and embodies the way I enjoy seeking Jesus. This church is so welcoming and accommodating to make Jesus accessible to anyone. They want everyone to participate and become one large community through small groups that perpetuate our faith. I was also fortunate enough to go on a mission trip with this church to El Salvador, which was life changing.

Loved the Christmas eve service we saw online. The praise and worship was awesome and so was Pastor JJ's message. The only suggestion is to turn background music down so we can here the Pastor more clearly when he is preaching. There were times when the keyboard just drowned out his voice. In spite of that the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart thru his words. Will visit in person when we return to Florida again! God please continue to bless this ministry!

Great church def recommend to friends and family will feel the holy spirit can be your home church , pastor jj is great teachings has great visiting pastors teachings aswell, i just dont think they should let a woman who is not the pastors wife preach a whole sermon, 1 Corinthians 14:26-40 "The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission," i get the new gen perspective still dont agree with that though

I've been coming here for 11 months now and this church has truly been a blessing in my life. A church that celebrates diversity and is composed of people from every age, it's nestled in Winter Park taking residence in Winter Park High School on Sundays. This family (because everyone here treats each other as such) has small groups for support throughout the week, a children's ministry, a youth ministry, and an amazing worship experience! I first checked them out on their website: journeyorl.com If you've been looking for a church to call home, you should definitely check this church out!

This place is an incredible environment to instantly feel welcome into a genuine, loving community that loves God. Journey is a place that makes it easy to invite anyone from any walk of life. The pastors and people truly do an excellent and creative job of making the message and impact of Jesus accessible to anyone.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A CHURCH TO CALL HOME.. LOOK NO FURTHER. The second you hear the pastors/leaders at this church it'll be an easy decision for you to make this your community. Such a humble, kind, and inspiring group of people. I am coming up on 1 year attending this church and I am so grateful to have found them. Thank you for everything you all do in the name of Jesus.

Photo of Cristian S.

If you're looking for a new place to call home, you landed on the right page. I started going to Journey in January of 2017 and felt like I was part of a family. There's so many small interest based groups to choose from for you to connect with other likeminded Christians. There's also missions trips which I had the opportunity of going to Nicaragua and I was able to do photography for the church which I really enjoyed. Journey is growing and influencing our city and across the nations. Pastor JJ and his wife Liz are two of the most loving, positive, encouraging, and influential leaders I have ever met. I'm truly thankful for their guidance, encouragement, and leadership. God is in this place. Welcome home!

National bullfighter shares faith journey with north Fort Worth church

Dusty Tuckness first received Jesus into his life at a rodeo Bible camp.

Tuckness, originally from Wyoming, grew up surrounded by rodeo culture. He spent his summers watching his father dodge and jump over bulls in the arena as a professional bullfighter. Early on, Tuckness knew he wanted to do the same.

When Tuckness returned to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo this year, he visited Met Church to share his story and how faith has helped him overcome challenges in his bullfighting career and stay motivated as a rodeo athlete.

“I was driven to the sport of rodeo, but it was God’s plan the whole time,” Tuckness said.

What is bullfighting?

Bull riders are rodeo athletes who work in bull riding competitions. Bullfighters work alongside the riders in the arena and their main job is to distract the bull once a rider falls off of the animal. Bullfighters play a careful game of dodging or sprinting in the arena, often using barrels as a buffer between the bullfighter and its thousand-pound, horned opponent.

YouTube video

Tuckness made a name for himself in the rodeo community, where he is known by some as Wyoming’s Rodeo G.O.A.T. of bullfighting; the acronym stands for “greatest of all time.”

Tuckness is a 10-time Bullfighter of the Year award recipient from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and travels to rodeos across the country to perform.

journey church fort worth photos

This isn’t the first time Tuckness has spoken to Met Church about his career and beliefs. Tuckness spoke at Met Church’s men’s breakfast last year. Bill Ramsey, senior pastor of the church, said he invited Tuckness to speak to the church again to inspire and motivate worshippers with his message of how faith can help overcome adversity.

“God will give you a platform to show those talents and abilities, and rodeo is his (Tuckness’) platform,” Ramsey said. “The disciplines of his personal life, dedication and influence of God gave him those things. So it’s kind of an inspiration to say, ‘You can fight through adversity if you’re really committed to your faith.’”

Tuckness shared with the attendees how he leaned on reading his Bible and praying to God when a bull stepped on and broke the cowboy’s leg during a 2021 rodeo event. Injury can come with the job, Tuckness said during his recent remarks. As proof of the ongoing risk, in addition to wearing a cowboy hat and boots, he was wearing a cast on his forearm.

“God has drawn me through all of this,” Tuckness said. “It’s so much bigger than me and my injuries. God’s got the plan and the finished product already there so it’s up to me to continue to wake up and put my best foot forward.”

The spiritual and professional motivation in Tuckness’ story resonated with Nathan Harp, who has worked with Tuckness as a bullfighter for nearly 15 years. Harp, originally from Oklahoma, came to Fort Worth to participate in the rodeo, as well as to hear his colleague’s message at church.

“We were talking the other day in the locker room about what kind of words that God’s put on our hearts this year,” Harp said. “It started off professional and built into a brotherhood.”

Tuckness has fought bulls at the Fort Worth Stock & Rodeo since 2009. He has completed over 400 performances in the city, according to Cowgirl Magazine . Tuckness continues to grow that number, he said. After the service, Tuckness headed back to the rodeo for an afternoon performance.

“It’s part of what I feel is my calling,” Tuckness said. “I’ve got to share what God is doing and has done in my life and I’m going to continue to do so.”

Family of young mother found beaten to death inside bedroom closet demands justice

A man the woman had been dating is charged with murder and is being held on bonds totaling $1.5 million, by maria guerrero • published april 19, 2024 • updated on april 19, 2024 at 10:21 pm.

Disturbing details are emerging in the murder of a young mother whose body was discovered inside a closet.

Dallas police found the body of 27-year-old Corinna Johnson at an apartment complex along West Wheatland Road early Monday morning.

Police discovered the young mother inside a bedroom closet, wrapped in bedding, ‘bludgeoned’ to death, according to a witness cited in an arrest affidavit.

Omar Lucio, 34, is charged with Johnson’s murder. The victim’s family told NBC 5 the two had been dating.

Dallas police went to the apartment complex early Monday morning only after another woman came forward and reported the incident to police in Garland, according to an arrest affidavit.

The female witness told police she and Lucio are ‘friends with benefits’ and that he reportedly called her early Sunday morning asking her to pick him up.

The distraught man confessed to the woman that ‘he laid hands’ on Johnson and ‘stated he had knocked some sense into her and that she became unconscious,’ according to the warrant.

The woman allegedly convinced Lucio to return to his apartment where she said she saw the victim ‘lying on the bathroom floor with a bruised and bloody face and looked to be dead.’

The woman did not immediately report the alleged incident to the police but did so hours later after her friend convinced her to come forward.

Police in Garland then reached out to Dallas police with the witness’ account.

Police said they went to the apartment complex and found Lucio initially unwilling to walk out of his home. Lucio was later taken into custody. Officers reportedly found bloody clothes inside his vehicle.

Officers later reported following a trail of blood from the bathroom to a bedroom closet where Johnson’s body was discovered.

They were unable to quickly identify the victim.

Corinna Johnson

Lucio reportedly waved his rights and agreed to speak with Dallas police detectives confessing he, "has a temper and in the vehicle, he snapped." He did not, however, explain how Johnson ended up wrapped in bedding and inside the closet.

“My sister didn’t deserve this at all,” said Erica Hernandez. “She was just a ray of sunshine. She was the life of the party.”

Johnson’s family said Lucio had shown signs of being abusive and should be "locked up forever."

“I want him to feel the pain that my baby felt,” said Lopez. “She was so full of life. A happy person. She loved this man who took her life away from her!”

Multiple family members said they repeatedly warned Johnson against returning to Lucio. According to her mother and sister, the 27-year-old also had a disability and functioned at the level of a teenager.

Johnson leaves behind a 7-year-old son who has not yet been told his mother is gone.

“It’s going to break him,” said Lopez through tears.

Johnson’s family is especially grateful to the stranger who came forward just in time for police to recover her body and arrest her alleged killer.

journey church fort worth photos

“I just want to say thank you to her for reporting this,” said Hernandez. “Because without her, we would probably still be looking for my sister.”

Lucio is being held on bonds totaling $1.5 million for murder and also for an unrelated case involving alleged street racing and a crash. Johnson’s family said the crash happened in November and also involved the young mother.

Online court records show Lucio has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2007 including assault and rape cases out of Houston.

Johnson’s family is holding several fundraisers to help cover the costs of the unexpected funeral.

A ‘Justice for Cory’ fundraiser will take place Saturday, April 20 at Daiquiri Dash on E. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington beginning at 11 a.m.

The family also has a verified GoFundMe account, click here for more information.
