Contact Us at the…

If you don’t want to say “come visit us” to an acquaintance or a colleague, you can always ask them to contact you wherever you wish.

Asking someone to contact you at your office or home is a good way to ask them to visit you without saying it.

For instance, if you met with a potential client and you want them to visit, you can tell them to contact you at your office or home to discuss further.

In this way, you’ve asked them to visit you without saying it directly. Additionally, it’s a formal expression you use with an acquaintance or within a formal environment.

Below are the ways to use the expression:

  • You can contact us at the office if you want to find out more
  • Tell them to contact us at home. It’ll be more convenient there

Another expression you can use if you don’t want to say “come visit us” is “drop by.” This is a cool way to invite someone to a place of your choice.

It’s another common informal expression that friends or anyone can use to ask someone to visit them somewhere.

However, you can also use this expression in a formal setting if you’re polite. So, if you don’t want to use the word “visit us,” you can tell anyone to drop by later at your place.

Below is a way you can use this expression to invite someone over to a place:

  • Can you drop by the house later? We’ve some unfinished business
  • You can drop by later and say “hi”

We Are Happy to Host You at Our…

You can always ask someone over to your place without making it obvious that you want them to visit.

If it’s the case that you want a friend or colleague to meet with your family, you can use dinner or lunch to bring them to your place.

One good way to achieve that is by telling them you’re happy to host them at your desired location.

It could be your workplace or your house; if you want someone to visit you, use a dinner or lunch to lure them where you want.

In addition, it’s a polite request that will be difficult to turn down. Also, this statement can both work in a formal and informal setting.

Below is how you can use this statement:

  • We are happy to host you at our house on Sunday
  • We are happy to host you at the office anytime

Won’t You Come and Know…?

Here, you’re tactical by appealing to their emotions. If it’s the case that you built a new home or office and you want friends to visit you, you can blackmail them into doing that.

Or if you’ve got a friend who has never visited you, good blackmail can work too.

A good example is by asking if they won’t come and know your house or office or club or whatever place it is.

A good friend or colleague should be moved and give in. Of course, they wouldn’t want to seem like a bad friend. So, this is a perfect way of asking someone to visit you without actually saying it.

Here’s how to use this expression:

  • Won’t you come and know our new office? You’ve never been there
  • Won’t you come and know where we live?

Another good expression that can work to invite someone over to a place is to ask them to come by.

This is another informal expression that you can politely use in a formal setting.

When you ask someone to come by your place, you’re letting them know that you want them at your place in clear terms.

So, this is the perfect way to ask someone to your place without using the words “come visit us.”

Below is a way you can use this phrase:

  • We’ll be delighted if you come by the office to check it out
  • I’d love you to come by later, there’s a lot to discuss

Can We Talk Later at the…?

Here’s another tactical approach to inviting someone to your place without making it obvious. When you want someone over to your place, ask them politely if you can talk there.

This approach doesn’t give them plenty of options, especially if they’re your friends, or if it’s your workplace you want them to visit.

For instance, someone who isn’t comfortable with you might turn you down if you ask them to talk at your house. However, if you ask to talk with them in your office, they can hardly say no.

So, if you want someone to visit where you work or live, you can lure them with plans to talk.

Below is a good way to go about it:

  • Can we talk later at the house? This place is noisy
  • Can we talk later at the office? It’ll be a great place to relax and catch on

We’ll Be Delighted to Have You During Thanksgiving

Another tactical approach to asking someone to your place is to lure them during “Thanksgiving.”

“Thanksgiving” is a national holiday in some countries and states. So, it’s a good time to ask for a visit. A good way to go about that is to let them know you’ll be delighted to have them during Thanksgiving.

It could be friends, neighbors, colleagues, acquaintances, or even strangers; when you want someone to pay you a visit at your house, ask them for a “Thanksgiving” lunch.

Due to the nature of the holiday; a time of sharing and giving, people will hardly turn down this visit. So, try this approach when you want someone to visit you but you don’t want to spell it out.

Check Us at…

Another wonderful way you can ask someone for a visit subtly is by using this statement.

When you ask someone to check you out at a particular place, it tells them you want them there. It’s a good approach to use when discussing business with someone or talking casually to a friend or colleague.

For instance, if you want a client to visit your business area, this statement is a good way to make your request known.

Here’s how you can use this statement:

  • Check us at our new place, you’d love it
  • Can you check us at the house? We won’t be at the office today

“Stop by” is another phrase you can use when you want someone to pay you a visit at your place.

This is another informal expression that you can use to make your request. Also, you can use it in a business environment or your workplace.

For instance, if you’re longing to see someone or have someone over at your place, ask them to stop by. This expression sounds like a simple thing to do.

It’s a good approach to use when you know they’ll pass by your place anytime.

Here’s a good way to use this phrase:

  • You can stop by before going to the market
  • Why not stop by on your way back from church so we discuss this better

Crash at Our…

Another way you can ask someone to visit is by asking them to crash at your place.

This is a good approach to use when you know the person doesn’t have plenty of options.

For instance, if you’re both returning from a party and you know your house is closer, you can suggest they crash at your place.

In this way, you’ve got what you want without saying “come visit us.”

  • Why not crash at our place for the weekend? It’ll be easier to get the bus from here
  • You can crash at our place tonight, you can’t drive in this state

My Place is also Your Place, You Can Come Whenever You Like

This is another tactical way to get someone to visit you without saying it out loud.

Also, this is another emotional statement you can use to get someone reluctant to come to visit you. In addition, it’s suitable to use with friends or someone you share a solid relationship with.

When you tell them your place is also theirs and they can come whenever they like, they should get it that you want them to visit.

Call on Us at…

“Call on us” is another wonderful phrase you can use to ask someone to visit you.

When you ask someone to call you at the office for a discussion, they should come to your office for it. So, in this way, you’ve gotten them to visit if that was your intention.

So, this is a cool way to get someone to visit you if you don’t want to spell it out.

Below are ways to use this expression:

  • Call on us at the office, we can’t discuss this over the phone
  • Make sure to call on us at home, we’ve all you need there

You can also ask someone to drop in at your place if you want them to visit.

Using “drop in” is another good approach to get someone to come by your house or office without sounding obvious. Also, this is an informal expression that tells the person that they’re free to visit anytime.

When someone drops in on you, it means they visit you informally without arranging it.

Here’s how you can use this expression:

  • Why not drop in anytime you’re free
  • You can always drop in whenever you visit the town

other ways to say come visit us

“Pay a call” is another cool expression you can use to ask someone to visit you.

This is a great expression that you can use formally or informally. However, it’s more formal. So, if you want someone to visit you, you can ask them to pay a call at your place.

Here’s how you can use the expression:

  • Pay a call at my office in the evening, I have something for you
  • Kindly pay a call at my house later, we’ve some pending discussions

You should keep reading to learn more about the most effective phrases to use! You never know when you might need an alternative to “hope to see you soon” in a message.

Feel free to skip to the final section if you’d like to learn whether the phrase is correct. After all, you might not even be allowed to use it in some situations!

Very Much Anticipate Our Next Meeting (Formal)

“Very much anticipate our next meeting” is a good example of how to say “hope to see you soon” professionally. It’s an excellent formal synonym that works well in many messages.

You can use this phrase to appear respectful and polite to an email recipient. It’s a good email closer , letting them know you’re excited but using professional terminology.

You should try it when emailing your boss and letting them know you’re excited about an upcoming meeting.

We recommend using “very much anticipate our next meeting” over “hope to see you soon” in professional contexts. It works well in business emails and appears much more confident.

Here are some email examples to give you more information about it:

Dear Mr. Smith I think it’ll be good for us to talk things over on Tuesday. I very much anticipate our next meeting, Darren Woodford

Dear Toby, Hopefully, we’ll be able to talk things through easily once we get settled down in the office. We very much anticipate our next meeting, Matty

Looking Forward to Seeing You Again (Informal)

“Looking forward to seeing you again” is great if you want a more informal synonym for “hope to see you soon.” It shows you’re eager to see someone again if you’ve made plans with them.

You should use this phrase when speaking to romantic partners or friends when setting up dates or events. It shows you “look forward” to spending time with them in the future.

You don’t want to use “looking forward to seeing you again” in professional contexts, though. Stick with “hope to see you soon” as an email closer formally.

However, “looking forward to seeing you again” is sufficient as an informal email closer .

Here are some informal examples to show you how it works:

I’m very much looking forward to seeing you again at the weekend! I can’t wait to see what you have planned.

Dear Michael That sounds like a good idea. I will still ensure to bring the other stuff along. Looking forward to seeing you again , Evie

Is It Correct to Say “Hope to See You Soon”?

“Hope to see you soon” is grammatically correct and works well in formal and informal situations. Generally, you will find it as an email closer.

It’s very common to use “hope to see you soon” when closing an email. It’s similar to saying something like “kind regards” or “all the best,” but it specifically relates to having a meeting set at some point in the future.

Here are some other variations you may use:

  • Hoping to see you soon
  • Hope to see you again soon

You can use “hoping” and “hope” interchangeably. However, “hope” is much more effective formally because it shows anticipation. “Hoping” shows uncertainty instead.

Also, you should stick to using “see” rather than “seeing.” Sometimes, it can be hard to know what verb tense to use. However, look at the following examples:

  • Correct: I hope to see you soon.
  • Incorrect: I hope to seeing you soon.

Clearly, “seeing” makes no sense here. It is not idiomatic or correct in that example.

  • I look forward to meeting you again. I can’t wait to hear more about what you have to say relating to these issues.

2. I’m Sure I’ll See You Around

“I’m sure I’ll see you around” is an excellent choice to show that you expect to see some later. It doesn’t give them a direct time to expect you. Instead, it implies that you’ll see them in passing and might be able to chat when that occurs.

  • I’m sure I’ll see you around. I don’t know when I’ll be in town next, but I’ll hit you up if I have some spare time.
  • I’m sure I’ll see you around. Let me know if there’s anything specific you want to do when I’m around again.
  • I’m sure I’ll see you around. I’ll email you if I can. I’ll keep you in mind when I learn more information too.

3. See You Next Time

“See you next time” is a great alternative here. It shows that you are planning on meeting someone again (“next time” implies there will be another meeting).

  • I had a really good time today, and I hope we’ll be able to do something like this again soon. See you next time.
  • It was nice to get a chance to discuss these matters with you more privately. See you next time.
  • I’m glad we could have this chat. It seems like you have a lot of things to figure out, though. See you next time.

4. In a While

“In a while” is a fairly informal phrase you can use to say goodbye to someone. With that said, it still works well in many spoken situations to show that you look forward to seeing someone “in a while” (meaning soon enough).

  • It’s been a good few weeks getting to know you. It’s a shame you have to leave so soon. In a while, mate.
  • I’ll let you know when I have some more time, and we’ll set up another meeting with a few others. In a while.
  • In a while, then. Can you email me later in the week if you find some time to give me the rundown?

5. I’ll Talk to You Later

“I’ll talk to you later” is a good way of letting someone know that you’re happy to speak again soon. “Later” is the key here, showing that you might be able to speak to them much sooner than you think.

  • Thank you for coming along to the meeting today. I hope it gave you a few things to think about. I’ll talk to you later.
  • I appreciate you taking the time to run me through some of this. I’ll keep it in mind for next time. I’ll talk to you later.
  • I’m glad I had you here to help me understand some of this. I would have been stumped without you. I’ll talk to you later.

6. Let Me Know When You’re Next Free

“Let me know when you’re next free” is a good way to say goodbye to someone while trying to get a more specific timeslot for a second meeting. It encourages the other party to set up a time that works well for both of you to meet.

  • Let me know when you’re next free. I think it’s a good time for us to meet again to discuss some more issues.
  • Let me know when you’re next free. I’ll email you when I have some more information, but I think a conversation will be good.
  • Let me know when you’re next free, okay? I want to catch up with you soon to find out what else you’ve learned.

7. I Look Forward to Our Next Chat

“I look forward to our next chat” is a great alternative you can use. It shows that you’re keen to continue your conversation with someone, even if you don’t know when you’ll find the time to talk to them.

It’s a great way to show that you’re interested in meeting again. It doesn’t come across as too keen, either, making it a great choice in formal situations.

  • I look forward to our next chat. I’m sure there will be plenty more opportunities for us to get to know each other better.
  • It was interesting to learn from you today. I’m sure there will be other chances. I look forward to our next chat.
  • I appreciate you coming to the office to talk me through some of these programs today. I look forward to our next chat.

8. Let’s Do This Again

“Let’s do this again” is a simple way to try and arrange another meeting. It shows that you’re friendly and calm about the meeting, which will put most people at ease when it comes to booking another time.

  • This has been a truly eye-opening experience for me. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. Let’s do this again.
  • You have given me a lot to think about. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this yet, but I’ll let you know. Let’s do this again.
  • Let’s do this again sometime. I don’t want to miss any opportunities to get to know you better. I hope that’s okay.

9. Let’s Meet Again Soon

“Let’s meet again soon” shows that you’re ready to meet someone again when you can. It’s a great choice when you want to talk more to someone or learn from them.

  • Let’s meet again soon. I think it’s about time that we explore our options and see what we’re able to come up with. Don’t you?
  • I’m trying to figure out the best solution for this mess. I would like to pick your brains at some point. Let’s meet again soon.
  • I appreciate you giving me the time today. I wasn’t sure if you were going to be free. Let’s meet again soon.

10. See You

“See you” is a simple way to say goodbye to someone for an indefinite period. It does not indicate that you want a second meeting. Instead, it shows that you might see them again sometime, but there is no guarantee of that.

If you want to see them again, “see you” might not be the best choice. It’s a bit blunter than some of the other options.

  • I’m glad I have someone like you on my team. It makes things a lot easier when I need your help . See you.
  • It’s nice to know I can rely on you. I don’t think many other people on this team are able to provide help like you. See you.
  • Thanks for giving me the rundown. I’ll input some of this information as soon as I’m at the office . See you.

11. Until Next Time

“Until next time” shows that you expect to see someone again, even if you don’t know when that might be. It’s a great choice to let them know that you’re interested in seeing them again.

  • Until next time, see you around. I’ll let you know if an opportunity comes up that works well for me again.
  • I’m trying to figure out a good solution based on what you told me. Thank you for today, though. Until next time.
  • It was nice to have you around today to explain some of these issues. Let me know if I missed anything. Until next time.

Is It Correct to Say “Hope to See You Soon”?

“Hope to see you soon” is correct to say if you’re uncertain when you might see someone again. You can “hope” to see them “soon,” but you have no real way of knowing when “soon” might be.

It’s a good phrase if you want to show that you like seeing someone, but you’re not sure when you’ll meet again.

What Does “Hope to See You Soon” Mean?

“Hope to see you soon” means you’re looking forward to the next time you see someone. It is an indefinite time, though.

“Soon” is used to imply that you would like to see someone as soon as possible , but there is no guarantee you can make that happen.

If you were the guest and want to thank the host, read the “ Thank you for having me over ” post.

I prefer writing a handwritten thank-you note card, but you could also send a thank-you email or text message.

Thank You For Visiting Message Template

You can use this template to thank guests after they visit you.

What to Thank the Visitor(s) For

Here are a few suggestions of what you could thank your family or friends for after they visit you.

  • Travel time if they came from a distance.
  • Any food, dessert, or treat they brought (you make want to review the thank you for the cookies examples too)

  • Anything fun you did together during the visit.
  • The laughter and good times!

Tips for Your Thank-You Note Messages

Here are some more tips for saying thank you for a visit.

  • You can also mention future visits if you plan to meet again soon.

If you have traveled just about anywhere in the world than you have probably learned that English is the language of travel! Knowing how to speak English is very helpful, whether you are traveling to China, England, or Nicaragua. That is why today I am going to present some important conversations related to travel and checking-in and checking-out of a hotel or hostel. After a long trip you will want to be able to get to your room fast to sleep or relax. You don’t want to have to worry about being understood or not knowing what to say. So study up now and learn how to check in for your next trip abroad – and you might as well learn how to check out while you are at it!

Checking in:

Check-in desk: Welcome.

You: Hi. I have a reservation for _______________(your full name). Check-in desk: Wonderful, let me look up your reservation, may I see your ID please? You: Yes, of course. Here it is. Check-in desk: Thank you. I see you have a reservation for 3 nights. Is that right?

Check-in desk: We need to keep a credit card on file during your stay, what card would you like me to use for this? You: You can use my Visa, but can I pay for the room in cash when I check-out? Check-in desk: Yes, of course. We just need to keep a card on file while you are here. Okay. Here is your room key; your room number is written on the envelope. You have a single, queen-size bed in a non-smoking room.

You: Thank you. Check-in desk: The elevator to your room is around the corner. If you have any questions once you are in your room, just give us a call here at the front desk by dialing 0. Enjoy your stay.

Another checking in conversation:

You: Hi. Do you have any rooms available tonight? Check-in: Welcome. Let me check our availability? You: I’ll take anything that you have. I’m exhausted and I just want to sleep. Check-in: You are in luck. We have one single room left.

You: I’ll take it.

Check-in: It is on the 8 th floor and has no windows. Do you still want it? You: Yes! Check-in: It is only free for two nights, then we are have it booked for someone else.

You: That is fine. I just want it for one night. Check-in: Okay then; how will you be paying for the room? You: How much does it cost?

Check-in: It is $40 for 1 night, plus taxes and fees.

You: I’ll use my credit card then. Do you take MasterCard?

Check-in: Yes, of course.

You: Here you go.

Check-in: Thank you. Here is your key and here is your credit card back. You room is on the 8 th floor to the left when you exit the elevator. Have a good night.

You: Thank you.

Checking out:

You: Hi, I’d like to check out now. Here is the key to my room. Checkout: Thank you. Let me just print you a receipt. Here you go! You: Thanks.

Checkout: Do you need a taxi or any help with your bags?

You: No, I am fine, thank you.

Another checking out conversation:

You: I’m leaving now. Here is my key. Checkout: Thank you; just one second and I’ll give you your receipt. Here you go. You: Thank you. Checkout: Did you enjoy your stay? You: Yes, for the most part. Checkout: I hope you will be back to visit us again soon. You: If I am in town again for business I’ll be sure to come back. Could you call me a cab to take me to the airport? Checkout: Yes, of course. If you step out the front doors there should be a cab waiting, but if not, the doorman will call one for you. Have a safe trip home. You: Thank you.

Curtis Davies:

I know first hand about this process as I’m in South America on a 3 month vacation. I’ve been learning Spanish and of course part of the travelling process is having a place to stay, it became challenging for the different situations I encountered checking in, checking out and asking for things that I needed in the rooms or various reasons to communicate what I needed to. I related to this blog in the way that these were the most common things everyone needs to use to make life way easier while they travel, I would like to share this with others on my Facebook page to spread the knowledge. Thanks

Domestic travel is surging as the country reopens, but there is still an international-sized hole in the bottom lines of some U.S. tourism businesses. Would-be foreign visitors are mostly barred from coming stateside as coronavirus travel bans persist — and there have been few concrete answers from the Biden administration on when that will change. And vaccine maker Pfizer has begun talking about providing a coronavirus vaccine booster shot. That could be a huge financial windfall for the pharmaceutical giant, but federal government health groups were quick to say that they're not sure if or when a booster shot will be needed. Federal Reserve holds key interest rate at more than 5% as inflation battle drags on

The Federal Reserve held its key federal funds interest rate at about 5.5% for March as it continues to fight persistent inflation in the economy.

In its latest statement , the central bank's Federal Open Market Committee noted that job gains remain strong and unemployment remains low, while price growth remains elevated, even as it has cooled since peaking in 2022.

As a result, the committee said it intends to keep the interest rate at the current level until it has more confidence that inflation is on a sustained track toward its official 2% goal.

The current rate has been in place since July, and has led to a surge in the cost of borrowing.

The Fed's actions are part of a long-standing monetary practice with a simple goal. By making it more expensive to borrow money, whether through loans, credit cards or other financial tools, people and businesses will spend less and inflation will fall to a desirable level — in this case, 2%.

But over essentially the same period, the pace of price increases as measured by the Consumer Price Index has stalled at a little more than 3% on an annual basis, sparking concerns that the central bank will have to keep rates higher for longer.

Many economic observers believe the soonest the Fed could now begin cutting interest rates is at its June meeting, with two additional rate cuts before the end of this year, depending on whether the inflation rate remains above the Fed's official 2% target.

Where is that ongoing inflation coming from?

Much of it has been in measurements for the cost of shelter, which take into account two different categories: the cost to rent a place, and how much rent a homeowner could collect from their own residence if they were renting it out.

Many analysts say those costs are likely to start coming down, thanks to building booms in cities that saw high levels of post-pandemic population growth — especially in Sun Belt cities like Austin and Atlanta.

But housing costs have so far defied expectations for a quicker decline. Part of the reason for that is a nationwide housing shortage alongside a home-affordability crisis due to higher mortgage interest rates. All of those things have made renting the only viable option for a large share of the U.S. population.

And yet, more Americans are still able to come up with rent each month, because their employment has remained relatively stable. The unemployment rate has lingered below 4% for the longest period since the 1960s.

For the Fed, the question is whether it can keep pressure on price growth by leaving interest rates higher without causing unemployment to snowball and sparking a recession.

Analysts at Bankrate believe inflation remains even more entrenched than it might seem — and that as a result, the Fed will only be able to make two interest-rate cuts this year as it aims for its 2% goal.

As of February, inflation was at 3.2% .

"There’s a feeling that the last mile might be more difficult for the Fed," said Bankrate senior policy analyst Ted Rossman.

The Fed does have two key factors in its favor that economists say are likely to keep inflation relatively subdued.

One is booming labor productivity, meaning American workers are producing more of a given good or service more efficiently. The upshot of greater productivity is that the economy can absorb higher wage costs without a simultaneous increase in inflation, since supply is going up, too.

"It’s a Goldilocks situation," said Roger Aliaga-Diaz, chief economist for the Americas at Vanguard financial group. "The question is how long it can last."

Meanwhile, a surge in immigration, while a hot topic politically, is also seen by some economists as a boon for slowing down inflation, since it increases the supply of workers and puts downward pressure on wage growth.

"More people entering the country expands supply and demand," said Matthew Bush, U.S. economist at Guggenheim Investments. He said immigrants have a higher tendency to be in the labor force. As a result, "the expanding supply pool of available workers is greater than increased demand for more workers," he said. "That increases economic growth, and you have a greater capacity to produce new goods and services."

Sentiment about the state of the economy remains polarized on the political spectrum, with most Republicans saying it's in awful shape, while most Democrats say it's mostly fine.

And while the Federal Reserve is officially apolitical, it does not want to be seen as influencing the general election in November, meaning there might be an unofficial clock ticking on how close to that date the Fed could implement an interest-rate cut without undermining its credibility.

Economists see June as that cutoff date for an initial cut.

"Their view is that the best thing they can do for the Fed's credibility is to deliver on their goals of low inflation and full employment," Guggenheim's Bush said.

"So any political considerations line up with their economic objectives. The only thing is they might not want to start the rate-cut cycle in the months before the election cycle, so they’d probably prefer to get started in June rather than September so it's not too close to the election."

Soon after, Annie Karni, a congressional correspondent for the Times, sat down with Mr. Schumer to understand why he did it.
