Taylor Swift’s 12 Best Outfits from the 1989 World Tour
By Isabel Ashton
Decked out head-to-toe in all-black and all-sequin everything by Kaufman Franco (including matching microphone), Taylor even managed to look good with a golf club in Kanata in Ontario, Canada.
One of our all-time favorite looks from the tour so far, nothing says pop princess more than this bejeweled all-in-one number, paired with a trademark red lip.
Sporting another sparkling outfit in a shiny green jacket and purple skirt, it’s no wonder she needed sunglasses. The varsity detail on the jacket gives it a nice too-cool-for-school edge.
Swift shook it off in this green flapper-inspired, tasseled crop top and skirt that she wore during a performance in Montreal.

Swift looked fierce in a sharp long-line blazer with sequin detailing and black sparkly booties in Montreal.
Throughout her shows Swift has flaunted her long legs in an array of shiny skirts and jewel-encrusted crop tops, as pictured here in Dublin, Ireland.
Swift’s overall fun vibe on the tour has extended to her fashion choices. Not one to shy away from bold colors, she is pictured here performing in Philadelphia in a rainbow-colored sequin jacket.
Swift quite literally lit up the stage in Las Vegas, where she looked flirty and feminine in this summery pink skirt and matching top complete with L.E.D. lights and silver strappy heels.
Swift revealed her sultry side in this sexy, black, glittery outfit, pictured during a concert in Las Vegas.
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Swift made the stage her personal catwalk in black thigh-high boots and suspenders.
Singer or supermodel? Swift showcased her incredible figure in another all-black, killer combo.
In yet another crop top and skirt, it shows that as far as Swift is concerned, this combination will never go out of style.

The 'Midnights' songstress channels every one of her eras with her incredibly meta wardrobe, she has a whopping 16 outfit changes that draw inspiration from the past 17 years of her career.
Who designs Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits?
Taylor has been bringing out the big guns for her global tour. Notable designers include Fausto Puglisi who heads up Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli. Fausto describes himself as a Sicilian maverick. He designed 12 of the looks from Taylor’s Eras shows, including the skintight snake catsuit from the Reputation era, and the gold-fringed minidress from her Fearless era.

And Taylor isn’t the only superstar he has dressed – J-Lo and Zendaya have also had the honour. He also designed the cape that Madonna wore on her Madame X album.
Another designer that has been tapped by Taylor for her stage costumes is Donatella Versace. The legendary designer was the mastermind behind Taylor’s bejewelled bodysuits that feature in the Lover section of her shows.
And rounding off the Lover looks are a pair of custom-made, jewel-encrusted, knee-high boots from none other than Christian Louboutin. With their signature red soles, Louboutins are the footwear of choice for the rich, famous and impeccably dressed.

Italian dressmaker Alberta Ferretti also has a starring role on the Eras Tour. Her ethereal and dreamy gowns complements the Folklore section of Taylor’s shows completely.
Taylor has also selected a number of lesser-known names to wear alongside fashion powerhouses like Oscar de la Renta and Ellie Saab. Indie designer Anish Gupta created the sequin slogan T-shirts emblazoned with her iconic lyrics “WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER, LIKE EVER”
And with that impressive list of designers, we couldn't resist the urge to round up all the Eras Tour stage ensembles she's worn so far, check out all the Taylor tour looks (as well as her newest additions)...
Taylor Swift opens with the Lover era
Taylor starts the beginning of every show looking drop-dead gorgeous in a custom Versace sequined bodysuit and sparkly Louboutin heels, setting the bar high for the rest of the concert's wardrobe!
She later accessories the look halfway through the 'Lover' set when she sports a bedazzled blazer over the top of the opening ensemble – wow!
- 'Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince'
- 'Cruel Summer'
- 'The Man'
- 'You Need to Calm Down'
- 'Lover'
- 'The Archer'
Taylor's Fearless setlist made everyone nostalgic
Next on the setlist was Taylor's 'Fearless' era, and she channelled her second studio album by stepping out in a re-imagination of her iconic glittered fringed dress.
She sings three tracks from 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' all whilst twirling around with her rhinestones guitar, it's like its 2008 all over again!
- 'Fearless'
- 'You Belong With Me'
- 'Love Story'
Taylor stunned in her Evermore get-up
Taylor brought the 'evermore' record alive when she donned a whimsical burnt yellow dress that seemed like it leapt straight from the stories of her folky album.
She even brought along a moss-covered piano to complete the 'evermore' aesthetic when singing 'Champagne Problems', in total she treated 70,000 fans to performances of five 'evermore' tracks.
- ''tis the damn season'
- 'willow'
- 'marjorie'
- 'champagne problems'
- 'tolerate it'
Taylor brought back the drama of her Reputation tour
The 33-year-old pop star called back to her Reputation World Tour with the fiery look she donned during the next segment of the concert.
She brought all the drama as she performed in a snake-embellished one-legged bodysuit from Roberto Cavalli.
Taylor delivered four unforgettable 'Reputation' tracks, even bringing out dancers wearing a host of her most iconic looks during her 'Look What You Made Me Do' performance.
- '…Ready for It?'
- 'Delicate'
- 'Don’t Blame Me'
- 'Look What You Made Me Do'
Taylor brings the Speak Now's fairytale vibes to The Eras Tour
It may have been short but sweet but Taylor made quite the impact with the one song she chose to sing from the 'Speak Now' record.
Her fairytale-esque dresses are back for The Eras Tour as she belts out fan-favourite track 'Enchanted' whilst wearing a sequinned ball gown fit for a princess!
The gowns are strikingly similar to the Valentino one she wore during the 'Speak Now' tour back in 2012.
Taylor's iconic 'Red' looks are back on the stage
The next section of the tour sees Taylor don three looks that call back to her 'Red' album with looks we've seen before!
She kicks off this era with '22' and even sports one of her outfits from the music video, and of course, she just had to close the set with 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)' – she sure knows how to treat us!
- '22'
- 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'
- 'I Knew You Were Trouble'
- 'All Too Well (10 Minute Version)'
Taylor looks ethereal in her Folklore looks
Potentially one of the longest sets in the concerts, Taylor opts for a floaty floor length dress as she sings seven 'Folklore' songs!
Each night she rocks a Kate Bush-esque billowy gown to sing some of her most poetic tracks, giving fans an IRL rendition of this album for the first time – all whilst looking like an ethereal goddess.
- 'invisible string' / 'the 1'
- 'betty'
- 'the last great american dynasty'
- 'august'
- 'illicit affairs'
- 'my tears ricochet'
- 'cardigan'
Taylor is the 1989 pop princess all over again
Swift gave us another blast from the past with 1989 World Tour references whilst she sang the likes of 'Style', 'Shake It Off' and 'Bad Blood'.
She did so whilst wearing a bejewelled two-piece co-ord that just oozes her 2014 era, and the look comes in hot pink and emerald!
- 'Style'
- 'Blank Space'
- 'Shake It Off'
- 'Wildest Dreams'
- 'Bad Blood'
Taylor stuns in romantic gowns for her acoustic set
Taylor dials down the drama during her acoustic set that becomes the penultimate section of the show.
Each night she surprises fans with a stripped-back set of two songs every night that haven't before been in the setlist.
On opening night she sang 'Tim McGraw' and 'Mirrorball', read this article to get the full list of every surprise song she's performed so far.
Taylor's Midnights outfits end the show with a bang
Of course, Taylor ended her show with her most recent release and tenth studio album!
She knew how to finish off the event when she brought a seven-track set of 'Midnights' material to the stage and sported four iconic looks in the process.
From a lavender fur coat to a jet-black glittering bodysuit, Taylor pulled out all the stops for her closing era. What. A. Wardrobe!
- 'Lavender Haze'
- 'Anti-Hero'
- 'Midnight Rain'
- 'Vigilante Shit'
- 'Bejeweled'
- 'Mastermind'
- 'Karma'

What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, Broken Down by Era
Whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe.
If you’re anything like team Marie Claire, you’ve been waiting for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the minute that it was announced. And whether you duked it out with Ticketmaster for tickets or are just going as a very lucky plus-one, you need an outfit that matches the vibe. Or, should I say, matches the eras of Swift’s music.
As a fan who got to attend the show in Boston recently, I was amazed at the wide array of looks at my show. Fans were decked out in Reputation -era snake print, glitter-encrusted face paint inspired by Swift's Lovers album cover, and plenty of DIY’d T-shirts from her Speak Now days. The bottom line? The looks varied widely, proving that you can truly go in any direction when picking your outfit for the Eras tour.
I love getting dressed up for concerts, but I also want to make sure that I can wear my new pieces again and again. It was a question I asked myself over and over while shopping for my own Eras Tour ensemble: Is the look good for me for right now, or good for me forever? In the end, I opted for a bedazzled mesh dress that I could also wear again on a night out over jeans or a slip dress . For the show, I opted to style it over a bodysuit for added coverage.
If you’re heading to the show this summer, there are a few key things to keep in mind, no matter what you wear. The show is long—five hours from the beginning of the opening act to the end of Swift’s set!—so you’ll want to wear comfortable clothing. Plus, if you’re the kind of fan who spends the majority of the concert jumping and dancing like you’re alone in your bedroom, you’ll want to wear something that you don’t have to worry about adjusting. Comfortable footwear is a must, so make sure that your new shoes don’t require breaking in before you go. Finally, the temperature tends to drop at night—especially if you’re at one of Swift’s rainier shows—so packing waterproof layers in your stadium-approved clear bag is key. (I wish I had packed a sweater.)
Ahead, I rounded up a selection of pieces for you to wear to the Eras Tour, broken down by Era. I’ve tried to think of everything: the shoes I’ve selected are known for being comfortable from the first wear. The dresses are comfortable to both sit and move around in. The jackets add warmth when you need them. Plus, many of the pieces below fall in line with some of summer 2023's biggest fashion trends .
Taylor Swift's Debut Album Era
If you’re dying for a debut self-titled album Secret Song at your show, wear something that harkens back to Swift’s first-ever era. This time in her career was defined by pastel blue and green shades, her iconic curling-iron curls, and her country twang. Consider cowboy boots and sweet tulle skirts.
Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Era
Prefer gold to silver? The Fearless era is for you. This album had it all: Fireworks! A sparkly gold guitar! A gold fringed dress! More was more. To make it work, incorporate gold into your look via a pair of trendy sneakers , a going-out top in the hue, or by wearing a pair of viral gold jeans.
Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now' Era
Speak Now was defined by one color and one color only: A rich purple. It's the color Swift is wearing on the cover of the album, and it's the shade that has stayed attached to the record ever since. Sweet midi dresses and shoes that come in the same shade are go-tos for this era.
Taylor Swift's 'Red' Era
Red makes for an easy outfit because it only requires that you wear one color—red. Swift also went slightly preppy while on tour for the album, opting for a classic Breton striped shirt and red high-waisted denim . No matter which outfit vibe you choose, don’t forget your heart-shaped sunglasses.
Taylor Swift's '1989' Era
1989 is one of the more unique albums in Swift’s discography regarding her looks. While she repped matching sets on tour for the album, she's opted for orange ensembles while on the current Eras Tour.
Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Era
My personal favorite era as someone who loves to wear all-black, Reputation- inspired outfits are perfect for those who prefer a little drama. From the actual sheer mesh dress I wore to my own concert to a statement-making choker necklace priced at under $50, this era is all about going all-out.
Taylor Swift's 'Lover' Era
If you love playing with color, consider a Lover- era ensemble for your concert. The key colors for this era were bright Barbiecore pink and rich blue, but pastel shades like baby pink and lavender —a trending color for 2023—were also popular. Go all-out with a heart-shaped stencil around your eye, or heart-shaped earrings.
Taylor Swift's 'Folklore' Era
Folklore was a departure from the previous maximalist Lover era. The aesthetic for the album was a combination of woodland fairy and cottagecore. On-stage, this translates to flowing summer dresses in muted shades like olive green. IRL, pair lacy layers with chunky cardigans and sweet Mary Jane shoes.
Taylor Swift's 'Evermore' Era
Cozy-core fans, the Evermore era is for you. Taylor’s second pandemic album was full of woodland references but, unlike its predecessor, the vibe this time around was very much fall-inspired. Flannel dresses, comfy Birkenstock sandals, and other comfy pieces reign supreme. Shades to highlight include marigold yellow and burnt red.
Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' Era
Good thing silver everything is one of 2023’s biggest trends—Taylor is obsessed with the shade for her Midnights era. Her looks from this time in her career are about metallics , drama, and deep shades like navy blue and fushia. If you can’t stop listening to “Karma” or You’re On Your Own Kid,” This one is for you.

All of Taylor Swift's Best 1989 Tour Outfits So Far
By Kathryn Amey
Taylor Swift is our ultimate girl crush. When she's not writing catchy chart-topping tracks, she's dating some of the cutest boys in Hollywood (and London), providing us with serious #squadgoals thanks to her BFF-filled Instagrams, and, of course, acting as a constant source of major fashion inspiration.
And yes, that extends to every outfit she's worn during her 1989 World Tour—during the three shows that have happened so far, at least. From sparkly bandeau tops to a jacket that can only be described as 'disco ball-esque,' Taylor has really kicked it up a notch with her on-stage ensembles. Say goodbye to her signature pastel prints and ladylike cocktail dresses—her latest tour look is far more "Bad Blood" than "Blank Space."
Here are Teen Vogue's favorite picks so far...
What's not to love about a sparkly wrap-around tank top paired with matching high-waisted shorts? Absolutely nothing.
She's got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt...
An all-over sequined black onesie? We need this in our party outfit arsenal, ASAP.
The only thing better than a dazzling silver bomber jacket? One that incorporates every color of the rainbow, of course.
By P. Claire Dodson
By Kara Nesvig
By Liv McConnell
But the piece de resistance is this bedazzled body suit, which is giving us serious Brittney circa her "Toxic" music video flashbacks. Not that we're complaining—Tay is positively Shutting. It. Down. in this outfit.
For a real stage style statement, Taylor matched said sparkly bandeau top with a glittering royal blue skater skirt and an eye-catching jacket that redefines what it means to be 'disco ball chic.' Yes, it's a thing.
In Detroit, Tay channeled her inner 1920s flapper clad in a show-stopping halter jumpsuit complete with fringe.
This ensemble is more risqué than Taylor's usual look. Behold: tiny white shorts, a matching strapless tank and thigh-high black boots. But her best accessory? Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.

Getting dressed for a Taylor Swift concert or an Eras livestream watch party is basically a game of Tag Yourself, Taylor’s Albums edition. Are you an O.G. Speak Now fan who is a hopeless romantic at heart, or a diehard 1989 stan still low-key hoping Harry Styles has been secretly in love with Taylor this entire time? Maybe you’re thinking more along the lines of an all-black Reputation- style slay with snake accessories, or you could even pull out the purple New York University regalia and dress up as Graduation Taylor for the memes. It’s hard to choose just one era, and based on her numerous mid-concert outfit changes, Taylor thinks so, too.
It comes down to how you want to feel for the night — Speak Now royal, sparkly and totally Fearless, or whimsically Evermore . We’ve put together a complete guide of Taylor Swift concert outfit inspo based on her album aesthetics to help you nail down your ultimate Eras tour outfit.
Fearless (2008)
Some of Taylor's most well-known songs were released in her Fearless album , from "Love Story" to "You Belong With Me." Step into a time machine and travel all the way back to 2008, where you can rock out with young Taylor in matching fringe dresses and sparkly-heeled boots. A chunky heel is your best bet for dancing all night long sans foot pain.
YZHM Sequin Fringe Mini Dress
GUESS "Basic" Gold Fringe Linear Drop Earrings
Betsey Johnson Cady Rhinestone Boots
Speak now (2010).
It's your (and Taylor's) fairytale, we're all just living in it. Taylor has worn multiple incredible ballgowns on tour to sing "Enchanted," and we're considering it full permission to pull up to her concert rocking a dreamy, flowy dress. From fluffy tulle to beads, embroidery, and ruffles, the possibilities are endless.
ASOS DESIGN Curve Floral Embellished Ruffle Detail Mini Dress
Xijun Puffy Sleeve Tulle Lilac A-Line Dress

🎶 "Who's Taylor Swift, anyways? Ew!" 🎶 Recreate Taylor's cheeky "22" outfit with red heart-shaped sunnies, a black fedora, and a "not a lot going on at the moment" (understatement of the year, TBH) T-shirt. Don't forget the cherry red lipstick, which never goes out of ~style~.
Armear Heart Shaped Retro Sunglasses
We Are Never Getting Back Together Like Ever T-Shirt
ASTRQLE Classic Black Wool Blend Fedora
1989 (2014).
Shiny bling and neon metallics are necessary for ✨ Shaking It Off ✨ to multiple songs from Taylor's full-blown pop debut, 1989. JOJANEAS Bracelet Making Kit
4E's Novelty Novelty Pink Cowboy Hat with Feathers

Reputation (2017).
The Reputation girlies are not 👏 messing 👏 around 👏 . Or, take a cue from Taylor who popped her glitzy suit jacket over her rainbow bodysuit to perform "The Man". Her red-bottom Louboutins perfectly matched her signature red lippie, so don't forget the lipstick.

Folklore (2020).
The word "cardigan" was never the same again after the release of Folklore. Otherwise, take a cue from Taylor's performance outfit and go for a flowy, ethereal dress in muted shades of purple or cream.

Evermore (2020).
Taylor changed into a mustard yellow corset dress to serenade the audience with "Champagne Problems" (played on a woodsy, moss-covered piano, no less) along with a handful of other songs from her second album of 2020. A velvet, corduroy, or suede jumper dress is the perfect E vermore vibe — or, braid your hair back into a single braid and pop on a plaid shacket to recreate the E vermore album cover.
LA Hearts Tan Plaid Shacket

Taylor Swift Fans Go Wild Over Travis Kelce’s ‘1989’ Easter Egg on Hat While Golfing
Taylor Swift fans are loving Travis Kelce ‘s new baseball hat, as it appeared he give a shoutout to her iconic 2014 album, 1989 .
Travis, 34, was seen in an Instagram Stories video shared on Thursday, March 28, by former NBA player Chandler Parsons as the two played a round of golf at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. After making a killer drive, Travis put his face up to the camera with a laugh, where the golf club’s logo was written on his cap, along with “1989,” the year it opened.
“HELLO HIS HAT SAYS 1989,” one Swiftie wrote on X while posting a still shot of Travis’ cap. Another fan added, “I think he is golfing at Sherwood Thousand Oaks Country Club. So, they probably have the archer in reference to Robin Hood. And 1989 may be when it opened. It is still great Karma for Travis. These coincidences just keep piling up,” using multiple Taylor Swift song titles in the post.
“Travis is never beating the 1989 stan allegations,” one person posted along with the video, as Taylor’s “Bad Blood” could be heard playing in the background. Another added, “Travis listening to 1989 while wearing a hat that says 1989.”
The Ohio native’s golfing buddies apparently used Taylor’s song off 1989 to try to throw off his game, as Chandler wrote on the video how Travis “cannot be rattled,” while in the zone playing golf. After a killer swing and drive, the three-time Super Bowl champ celebrated by shoulder bumbing a pal.
Travis and Taylor, 34, have made Los Angeles their home base ever since she wrapped up the Asia leg of her Eras tour in Singapore on March 9. The couple has been staying at her $25 million Beverly Hills mansion and enjoying dinner dates, as well as attending Madonna ‘s A-list Oscars party on March 10.
The duo is “testing the waters of living under one roof” while Taylor is on her break from the Eras tour, a source told Life & Style exclusively.
Deal of the Day
“It seems to be going very smoothly. He moved into her Los Angeles mansion while she’s on break from her tour, they’re nesting and loving it,” the insider added.
Travis and Taylor took a brief getaway from L.A. to have a romantic vacation in the Bahamas , staying on the exclusive Harbour Island. Upon their return, the couple lunched at Malibu sushi hotspot Nobu on Sunday, March 24.
Travis is continuing to enjoy his off-season from the NFL after the Chiefs won Super Bowl 2024 on February 11. Taylor still has down-time before the April 19 release of her new album, The Tortured Poet’s Department , on April 19. Her Eras world tour doesn’t resume until May 9 in Paris.

Travis Kelce's Hat Paid Tribute to Taylor Swift With a Hidden '1989' Easter Egg
Nothing gets past the Swifties.
Alicia Brunker is a freelance writer who covers celebrity, royal, and fashion news for InStyle.com. She joined InStyle's digital team in 2017, and previously contributed to ELLE, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, and WWD.
Travis Kelce is tipping his hat to Taylor Swift , quite literally.
Earlier this week, the NFL star was spotted enjoying the off-season while golfing with friends (notably former NBA star Chandler Parsons) and rocking out to Swift's 2014 hit "Bad Blood" out on the course. You know, typical guy stuff.
But, as it turns out, this apparently wasn't the only nod he made to his pop star girlfriend during the outing. Perhaps much less obvious was the Easter egg hidden on his Sherwood Country Club baseball cap, which had "1989" embroidered on the front. The year, of course, is when Swift was born, as well as the title of her fifth studio album. The hat also featured an archer shooting a bow and arrow, and as any Swift fan knows, she has a song titled "The Archer" on her 2019 Lover album.
Unsurprisingly, Kelce's sartorial tribute didn't get past the Swifties and they took to social media to share their find. "His hat says 1989 AND has an archer on it.. you can’t make this stuff up!" one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: "Hat saying 1989 he’s so Pookie."
This isn't the first time Kelce's outfit has winked at Swift's music. Last month, just before the Super Bowl, the tight end arrived at Allegiant Stadium wearing an all-black Reputation -coded look that consisted of a sparkly black blazer with a black T-shirt underneath, matching pants, black pointed-toe boots, square-shaped sunglasses, and a chain-link choker necklace similar to the one Swift wore on her 2017 album cover.

Thanks to Swifties, trading friendship bracelets have become a memorable part of the Eras Tour. If you plan on making bracelets and need inspiration, we’ve got you covered. Read on for the best Taylor Swift friendship bracelet ideas for every era, including quotes, music lyrics, inside jokes, and more!
Remember when you were at a sleepover or summer camp, and you and your friends made colorful beaded bracelets and traded them with each other? We certainly do, and that sense of nostalgia is exactly what makes crafting friendship bracelets for the Eras Tour so special. Trading a meaningful item that connects you with another Swiftie who has shared the same experience (like seeing your idol live in a once-in-a-lifetime concert) is what it’s all about.
The idea to make friendship bracelets for Swift’s tour emerged sometime after the pop star released her tenth studio album, Midnights, in October 2022. One of the album’s tracks, “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” features the lyrics:
’Cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned Everything you lose is a step you take So make the friendship bracelets Take the moment and taste it You’ve got no reason to be afraid
After the album’s release, some fans suggested on social media to create and swap friendship bracelets at the pop star’s upcoming tour. Once the tour officially began and more concertgoers participated in the trend, creating friendship bracelets for The Eras Tour turned into a worldwide phenomenon. Swifties have shared tutorials about making friendships on social media, started selling friendship bracelets on Etsy, and posted videos of wearing and trading their bracelets at the Eras Tour.
After all, Swift’s football beau, Travis Kelce, revealed on his podcast “New Heights” that he tried to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number before one of her concerts at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he admitted at the time. So you could say that a friendship bracelet kicked off their “love story.”
Everyone from Swift and Kelce to the celebrity Eras Tour guests to the pop star’s bodyguard has sported friendship bracelets from fans. Who knows, yours may even get onto the arm of Blondie herself.

Eras Tour Chants
There are multiple Eras Tour chants and rituals that happen during the three-hour and 15-minute show. For example, in “Delicate,” after Taylor sings, “We can’t make any promises now, can we, babe? But you can make me a drink,” the audience screams, “One, Two, Three! Let’s Go B*tch!”

Taylor Swift Tries Out the Sexy Prep Trend in Flirty Pleated Skort and Loafers for Date with Travis Kelce
The singer and style star stepped out in a skort and pastel cashmere sweater — the perfect separates for spring — while on a date with Travis Kelce in Malibu
The Hollywood JR / BACKGRID
Taylor Swift is putting some prep in her step.
While out for a date with boyfriend Travis Kelce on March 24 in Malibu, California, Swift rocked a preppy look with a pleated skort, sweater and loafers.
On top, she wore a blue Khaite cashmere sweater and paired it with a flirty tan pleated skort by Sandy Liang (that she also has in gray). Swift, 34, capped off her look with brown chunky loafers from Reformation and a matching brown messenger bag by Joseph Duclos.
Her completed look came together for the full school-girl-inspired outfit in soft colors perfect for spring. She also wore her blonde hair down and blown out in just the slightest bit of soft curl.
Swift's outing with Kelce follows her return home to the U.S. following her Eras Tour stops in Singapore and Australia. Sabrina Carpenter, who opened Swift's shows for her, shared an Instagram carousel of her time on tour, including a photo of the two of them at the Sydney Zoo .
In the photo, Swift rocks another mini look — this time a Levi's skirt with a frayed hem that she wore with a T-shirt.

The "Anti-Hero" singer is no stranger to skorts and miniskirts. She wore plaid miniskirt by Rails to one of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs games in December. Her red and black skirt had an asymmetrical pleated detail and was custom-created especially for her.
"It's no secret that Taylor loves her plaid skirts and has been the ultimate muse for this season’s schoolgirl trend," Rails vice president of women's design Linney Warren told PEOPLE. "We wanted to give her things that she could seamlessly incorporate into her wardrobe — we were thrilled when she chose to style it back to a vintage sweatshirt for the Chiefs game for a bit of nostalgia!"

Not even Taylor Swift could drive up Australian inflation
There's no bad blood between the pop superstar and the australian bureau of statistics.
The Taylor Swift effect didn’t take over Down Under — at least not when it comes to inflation.
Taylor Swift performed seven sold-out shows in Melbourne and Sydney in February, taking her multi-billion-dollar Eras Tour to Australia. And it seems economists at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), which prepares and distributes economic data, were bracing for the pricing impacts of Swift’s tour stops on hotels and travel fares as fans came from across the country (and the world) to see Swift perform.
Some experts have linked Swift’s global tour, alongside others like Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, to temporary spikes in inflation in some nations, including the United States. But in Australia, economists can shake off similar concerns: the ABS’s newly-published consumer price index for February show Swift’s tour stop didn’t have an impact on inflation.
“Although Taylor Swift performances saw hotel prices rise in Sydney and Melbourne, elsewhere accommodation and airfare prices fell in February due to the end of the peak travel during the January school holiday period,” said Michelle Marquardt, the ABS’s head of prices statistics.
Australia’s CPI, a key inflation measure, stayed static in February, rising 3.4% for a third consecutive month. The biggest drivers of inflation were housing, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol and tobacco and insurance and financial services.
It’s no secret that the Eras Tour has had considerable local economic effects , drawing crowds numbering in the thousands at sold out stadiums now worldwide. Swift is estimated to have given the U.S. economy a $5.7 billion boost , not just from ticket sales, but from other spending including salaries , costumes, travel, hotels and food.
“She is in and of herself an economic event. She is a global economic phenomenon, even at the micro level,” Gonzaga University economics professor Ryan Herzog told CNBC earlier this month.
Businesses and governments alike have scrambled to get in on the action — and catch as much of the lucrative Swift spillover as they can. In anticipation of the Australian leg of the tour, Air New Zealand added more than 2,000 seats around the concert dates, new flights to Melbourne, Sydney and surrounding cities, and increased capacity to account for what it called the “Swift surge.”
Earlier this month, Singapore inked an exclusive deal with Swift for six (already sold out) shows in the city-state, and to have her skip over the other cities in the Southeast Asian leg of her tour. This could provide Singapore’s economy an estimated $370 million windfall.

Deep-Sixing Pornographic Deepfakes for Good
More from our inbox:, analyzing trump voters spare me., a ‘deep state’ makeover.
To the Editor:
Re “ Deepfake Violations, Met With a Shrug ,” by Nicholas Kristof (column, March 24):
Mr. Kristof underscores the urgent need to address the distressing prevalence of nonconsensual A.I. sexual content online and in top search engine results, to protect individuals, particularly the women and girls overwhelmingly targeted, from exploitation and harm.
I urge all readers to raise their voices by sending letters, emails or open letters tagged on social media and LinkedIn to Google and Microsoft Bing executives and social media teams. Our collective advocacy can amplify the call for these tech giants to take proactive measures in removing such content from their search results.
In an era when technological advancements outpace regulatory frameworks, it is imperative that entities like Google and Microsoft take responsible, decisive action to uphold ethical standards online. Together, we can make a significant difference in creating a safer digital landscape for all.
Brittany Poley Washington
From Nicholas Kristof’s column: “She passed another group of girls crying for the same reason — and a cluster of boys mocking them. ‘When I saw the boys laughing, I got so mad,’ Francesca said. ‘After school, I came home, and I told my mom we need to do something about this.’
Why was Francesca allowed by school staff to leave the assistant principal’s office (alone, it seems) to go back to class, instead of being taken out of that hellhole for the day? Why were those boys allowed by the school staff to cluster in the hallways? Why were those boys allowed by school staff to continue saying what they did?
Why were those boys not immediately removed from the hallways by the school staff? Why were the school staff (especially the male staff members) not explaining to those boys what they did wrong and why, and disciplining them? Why did school staff not report those boys to their parents?
The overwhelming isolation and continuing exposure of Francesca and other victims to mocking boys were appalling.
Phillipa Rispin Montreal
More than five years ago, publicly available, nonpornographic photographs of me taken between the age of 14 and 21 were posted on pornographic websites. The same thing happened to more than 20 other women I had gone to high school with.
The perpetrator had included our names when uploading the photographs and called on viewers to describe exactly what they would like to do to us. One of my photos included my first and last names and the name of my former school.
It was clear that the perpetrator had to be someone with whom we had all gone to high school — someone we knew, someone who knew us. That added to the torment.
We contacted the police. Laws concerning harassment and the right to decide how one’s image is used enabled the police to begin a full investigation in which the perpetrator was identified and ultimately convicted of a more serious crime, distributing child pornography. I won a civil suit against him.
On one website, the perpetrator had asked others to photoshop our pictures to make them pornographic. Reading Nicholas Kristof’s article, I am relieved that the technology for low-effort deepfakes was not easily available at the time. I just wish girls and women in the United States were better protected now that it is.
Miriam Betz Cologne, Germany
Why must the burden fall on girls and women to defend themselves against online exploitation? Why are we not extending the responsibility to parents and teachers of boys to educate them about technology, misogyny and ethics?
As a mother of two teenage boys, I’ve witnessed the inappropriate use (abuse) of technology firsthand and have spent countless hours overseeing their devices and instructing them how to use them responsibly.
Their actions are innocent and age-appropriate in almost every case; however, they don’t understand how everything they do online is essentially public, and how seemingly innocuous messaging (in their minds) can be misinterpreted, taken out of context, go viral and possibly do immense damage.
Schools and parents are arming kids with tools that easily turn into weapons when their proper use is not taught, and the arming begins when kids are toddlers and parents use the smartphone as a babysitter. It’s insane.
Get the smartphones out of childhood, and out of schools, and maybe we won’t have to put girls and women in the awful position of being eternal victims. Society has created this mess, and society needs to clean it up. Stop making it a women’s problem to deal with, and change the way we educate our boys.
Julie Bayer Salzman Venice, Calif.
Nicholas Kristof indicates that no laws are being clearly broken and that no laws can be enforced.
One solution is to help women and girls file class-action lawsuits against digital platforms — be they porn or Google — that derive any financial benefit for copyright infringement. These lawsuits can charge the platforms with financially benefiting from the unauthorized access of another’s name, image or likeness (NIL in digital parlance).
If a company can’t make money off an activity, or if their normal means of driving revenue is threatened by an activity, that company changes. It may not be a moral or legislative solution, but it can be effective nonetheless. Coordinate with state attorneys general, as occurred with the tobacco settlements, and states will jump at the chance to take money from online platforms.
Alexander Byington Lone Tree, Colo.
I’m grateful The Times covers human trafficking, pornography and abuse with depth and care, and I’ve been a fan of Nicholas Kristof for decades.
Still, I would like to argue that the use of the term “nonconsensual pornography” is problematic at best. While I understand the usefulness of the distinction regarding consent, the phrase is politically weighted, as it suggests a position about the victimless nature of pornography.
There is an argument to be made that because of the confines of our society, gender and monetary dynamics, as well as the way abuse affects and tracks its victims, no pornography is consensual. While I don’t expect The Times or Mr. Kristof to take that position, I think it would be meaningful not to propagate language that excluded the possibility.
Jennifer Flescher Melrose, Mass.
Ah, ain’t technology innovation wonderful? Unfortunately, not this one.
While reading Nicholas Kristof’s column, I couldn’t help thinking again of how society seems to have no problem with celebrity women — mainly movie and TV stars — participating in red carpet walks before award events flaunting designer clothing that barely conceals breasts and sometimes nearly exposes genitals, while their male escorts are covered neck to toe in formal suits.
Even in day-to-day life, women’s clothing is often somewhat revealing or chest-enhancing while men are mostly fully covered in suits and ties, or even in casual attire.
Now A.I. is making it worse.
I don’t want to see Western societies adopt the strict clothing standards for women in the Middle East. But why can’t our society adopt a respectable-clothing standard that is equal for both sexes?

Re “ How Trump’s Base Has Changed, According to a Pollster ,” by Jane Coaston (Opinion, nytimes.com, March 18):
Good Lord, spare us from even more analysis of Trump voters. As if these people will let the facts get in the way of their undying and blind support for this con artist and hopefully soon-to-be-convicted felon.
Every time I read an article like this one, or see the news media playing both-sides-ism interviewing a Trump supporter, my anxiety only increases.
One such supporter said on TV recently that America needs a dictator. Another said that if Donald Trump actually shot someone it would not shake his support for the former president. There is no reasoning with people who have sunk that far down the political rabbit hole. Frankly, I don’t really care what they think.
Look, the November election comes down to a very, very simple choice: People can vote for a decent human being, a man with vast political experience who is not afraid to compromise, a caring and empathetic person with a moral center who actually knows how to govern. A man who has a positive vision for the country.
Or they can vote for Donald Trump.
Len DiSesa Dresher, Pa.
It Turns Out the ‘Deep State’ Is Actually Kind of Awesome
Meet the unsung heroes making our country great..
[APPLAUSE] “I will totally obliterate the deep state. I will fire —” Donald Trump is obsessed with the “deep state.” “The deep state — The deep state — The deep state is destroying our nation. Either the deep state destroys America, or we destroy the deep state.” And many Republicans are widening his paranoia. “These unelected bureaucrats ruining this country.” From a cabal of security agents to “The sick political class that hates our country.” If elected, Trump’s vowed to gut the federal government. “Reinstate the Schedule F executive order and, quote, ‘fire rogue bureaucrats.’” But who are these bureaucrats, and what makes them so dangerous? We needed answers, so we took a trip across America. “In 100 yards, take the exit.” In search of the people behind this threatening entity. [LAUGHS] [LAUGHS] First stop, Huntsville, Ala. Sure looks like some nefarious government activity happens around here. “You have reached your destination.” Meet Scott Bellamy. “I am a mission manager in the Planetary Missions Program Office.” He drives a Nissan Titan four by four. He’s loved “Star Trek” since he was a kid. “Of course I have a favorite character. It’s either Captain Kirk or Mr. Spock.” And he may have quite literally saved the planet from annihilation. “Potentially.” You see, Scott managed a mission called “The Double Asteroid Redirection Test.” And back in 2022, his team used your tax dollars to pull off something kind of incredible. “You have an asteroid, and you have a spacecraft, and you fly the spacecraft into the asteroid and try to change the trajectory of that asteroid. It’s like playing pool in space. Everybody was holding their breath. This is the moment of truth. Did we hit it?” [APPLAUSE] “We got it?” “And we have impact.” “We got it.” “A giant leap for [INAUDIBLE].” They knocked an asteroid off its course, proving something that had previously only been done in movies. “Saving the world from an ‘Armageddon’ scenario, potentially.” Next, we traveled deep into the swamp itself, Washington, D.C. “You have arrived.” This is Radhika Fox. “I am the assistant administrator for water at the Environmental Protection Agency.” She loves Pilates, making salads and watching the Taylor Swift Eras Tour on TV with her family. “I think we’re all pretty 1989.” Oh, and she led an operation to make our drinking water lead-free in 10 years. “That’s the dream.” “Worried and angry about lead contamination, residents of Newark, N.J., are demanding bottled water and answers.” “Lead is a neurotoxin that can cause irreversible brain damage. Folks are drinking out of these pipes right now.” “Every single American child will soon be able to turn on that faucet, and their moms and dads know that the water they’re drinking is clean.” When President Biden announced a nationwide plan to remove lead water pipes, Radhika’s team made it happen. “Yep. That’s right.” Water utilities would be legally required to replace all remaining lead pipes. “Nine million in 10 years or less.” It’s an expensive bet. “$50 billion. But those benefits are truly priceless because it’s the well-being of this nation that’s at stake.” You want to replace your own water pipes? You got the skills to launch an asteroid-deflecting spacecraft? No. That’s why your tax dollars pay experts like Radhika and Scott. Important work like this is happening all over America, from helping two million victims of the opioid crisis to engineering major breakthroughs in nuclear fusion and helping make hearing aids affordable for 30 million people. Yup. The “deep state” is hard at work making America great. Just because we don’t know about it doesn’t make it suspicious. “You have arrived.” Our final stop, Chicago, Ill. [MUSIC PLAYING] Meet Nancy Alcantara. “I am the acting director of enforcement for the wage and hour division for the Midwest regional office for the U.S. Department of Labor. I had to take a breath, yes.” She still eats Lucky Charms for breakfast, trains for marathons and loves Latin dancing. “Cumbia, bachata, cha-cha-cha. You name it, I did it.” And she uses your tax dollars to get kids out of working in dangerous slaughterhouses. “13-, 14-, 15-year-olds working on the kill floor. Cleaning body parts, right? Animal carcasses. They’re working with machinery, such as skull splitters, bone splitters.” Nancy and her colleagues raided slaughterhouses in several states and found more than 100 children working illegally. Last year their employer, Packers Sanitation, was fined $1.5 million — one of the largest child labor cases in American history. “Kids would die. Kids would get limbs amputated. I don’t even want to imagine what would happen if no one did this job.” These guys work for you, but Trump wants them working for him. “Trump wants to fire at least thousands of these people that he calls pejoratively the deep state.” “Schedule F would allow Trump to fire up to 50,000 of them and replace them with like-minded people.” “Sometimes it’s really hard to read the newspaper, where you feel like we as public servants are being attacked.” Now, this doesn’t mean that Americans can’t have different ideas about how big the federal government should be. After all, there’s no shortage of examples of real government overreach and overspend. But Trump’s teaching us to expect the worst from people in government when the truth is, they’re actually some of our best. [MUSIC PLAYING]
Re “ It Turns Out the ‘Deep State’ Is Actually Kind of Awesome ,” by Adam Westbrook and Lindsay Crouse (Opinion video, nytimes.com, March 19):
Thank you for showing some of the faces and hard work done by the “deep state” workers. Most people I’ve talked to in government organizations are hardworking and trying to do their best. They’re our neighbors and fellow citizens, too!
Why not defuse Donald Trump’s scary deep state boogeyman and make the deep state a badge of honor? Imagine a softball team from federal government agencies with “Deep State Bliss” T-shirts! Soccer moms and dads with “Hug a Deep Stater” T-shirts. Employment recruitment tables with “Deep State” baseball caps.
The “deep state” needs a P.R. makeover highlighting human connections.
Rob Pauley Boulder, Colo.
We Might Already Have The Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) Release Date
Posted: March 28, 2024 | Last updated: March 28, 2024
When is Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) coming out?
At one of her recent Eras Tour shows, Taylor Swift made a joke that she was going to play a song from her discography that was "175 years old." Swifties immediately began doing the math, and there are two particular dates this number could point to: May 17 and August 2. Let me explain.
Taylor doesn't mess around when it comes to numbers, so fans plugged the potential Easter egg into the calendar and realized that August 2 was 175 days from that particular concert date. Since Taylor played "The Outside," a song off the album, I think this could be a clue to when we're getting the rerecording of Taylor Swift's first album.
As @13tywilson points out, May 17 is also a viable option for the Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) release because in some areas of the world, you write the date as 17/5 instead of 5/17 like we do in America. May 17, 2007 is the date Taylor was awarded her first gold record for Debut (TV) *and* when she sang her surprise songs (in a green dress — the color for the Debut era!), she chose "Come In With The Rain" (track 17 off Fearless (TV) ) and "You're On Your Own Kid" (track 5 from Midnights ).
It might seem crazy to read that much into surprise songs, but remember when she announced Joey King and Taylor Lautner were in her new music video after singing "A Place In This World" and "Today Was A Fairytale" (which were featured in their respective movies?) I don't put anything past Taylor at this point.
Will there be a Taylor's version of her debut album?
Yes, we're getting a Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) ! Taylor Swift has said she's rerecording all her old albums, and her debut album is one I've really been looking forward to. While Red (TV) paints a picture of romanticism and heartbreak and 1989 (TV) captures the freedom of being young, Debut is all about connecting with your roots and looking back on first loves. And with songs like "Picture to Burn" and "Should've Said No," it's clear Taylor had no patience for men who wasted her time, even in 2006!
What songs will Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) have?
We don't know how many bonus tracks Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) will have, but here's the tracklist from the original deluxe album. I'm really hoping we get "Crazier (Taylor's Version)" and maybe "You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home (Taylor's Version)." Both of these songs were in Hannah Montana: The Movie and I unashamedly love them.
- "Tim McGraw"
- "Picture to Burn"
- "Teardrops on My Guitar"
- "A Place in This World"
- "Cold as You"
- "The Outside"
- "Tied Together with a Smile"
- "Stay Beautiful"
- "Should've Said No"
- "Mary's Song (Oh My My My)"
- "I'm Only Me When I'm with You"
- "Invisible"
- "A Perfectly Good Heart"
- Taylor Swift's 1st Phone Call with Tim McGraw
What will debut Taylor's version be called?
Considering all of Taylor Swift's rerecordings have the same name as the original album, it's safe to assume the Debut rerecording will be called Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) . Another piece of evidence supporting this is the fact that she named the Speak Now rerecording Speak Now (Taylor's Version) .
It's widely thought that Taylor originally wanted the album to be called Enchanted , so some Swifties wondered whether the rerecording would be called Enchanted (TV) . But since Taylor went with Speak Now (TV) , it's clear she's making the new versions of her albums as close to the original as she can.
Why does Taylor Swift have a Taylor's version?
After Scooter Braun sold her music catalogue to Shamrock Holdings for $405 million, Taylor Swift decided to rerecord her first five albums so she'd be able to own her music. So, anything with (Taylor's Version) beside it means that Taylor Swift owns it! That includes the songs on Fearless (Taylor's Version) , Speak Now (Taylor's Version) , Red (Taylor's Version) , 1989 (Taylor's Version) , and soon, Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) .
