We saw the awesome alligator infested bald Cedarwoods, Infested with alligators just like in the eerie movies. Chelsea was a great hostess, and a wonderful airboat operator. I highly recommend this tour. This tour was the highlight of our trip to Orlando area.

Cruises are offered Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Everglades Florida Adventures also offers kayak and canoe rentals.

Captain Taylor was the best guide I ever had! He was so personable and fun and did an excellent job of explaining all the beautiful intricacies of what makes the Everglades so great! We had such a great time on this airboat ride! From the get-go Jodi was so kind and responsive on the phone, answering all our questions and just generally being very friendly. We wanted to do a sunrise tour, which she said they didn't normally do, but she checked and accommodated us as she thought it would be an interesting experience as well. It turned out to be really, really nice. We met up with Taylor, who was also very kind and friendly. He didn't rush the experience at all and was very knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and plant life. They are a family owned business and local to the Everglades, so if you want a great experience...go with them!

Taylor is very knowledgable about the history and ecology of the everglades. Learned a lot and saw a few gatoors and birds. Because our tour was pretty late in the day, we saw a wonderful sunset. Florida airboat flips sending 9 passengers into gator-infested waters, operator arrested

An airboat tour in the Florida Everglades capsized sending passengers overboard on Friday, officials say. This happened when the airboat's driver took a sharp turn to try to see an alligator in the water, according to multiple reports.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said three units responded to a waterway near Coopertown The Original Airboat Tour in the Everglades Friday afternoon. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, nine people and the operator all fell into the water when the boat took a quick turn.

By time MDFR arrived, everyone had climbed out of the water, and only one patient was treated for injuries on the scene.

But the boat's operator was arrested after FWC said he did not have the proper documentation necessary to operate the boat. His employer, Coopertown, did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment Monday morning.

Boat passengers say they were afraid of alligators in water, reports state

Passengers told Local 10 the boat operator was trying to get a closer look at a nearby alligator when the airboat flipped.

“My first thought was panic, I was afraid for my wife and family members, and then I thought about the alligator,” passenger Jose Maldonado told Local 10.

NBC Miami said the boat was partially submerged in the water and some passengers were standing on top waiting for help.

Alligator mating season runs from early April until the end of June, when the Sunshine State sees more activity and they become more aggressive.

Terrified Florida Tourists Stranded in Reptile-Infested Water After Captain Flips Boat in Everglades

A group of tourists in Florida are recovering after a terrifying start to their holiday weekend on Friday.

Nine passengers found themselves fending for their lives in reptile-infested waters when their airboat capsized during a tour of the Everglades, according to the  Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC).

Passengers later told CBS Miami that the boat took a sharp turn while trying to get close to an alligator when the boat started to take on water and then capsized, dumping all 10 people onboard into the swamp waters.

"There was a crocodile in the water and our captain tried to maneuver the boat, make a U-turn almost, but he didn't succeed and he tried to make another U-turn to go back to where we were coming from and the boat just flipped," said passenger Jose Maldanado.

The group spent about 10 minutes in the water, according to one passenger, before being rescued and treated back on dry land.

Video posted to social media shows the group trudging through the swamp water to the airboat that eventually rescued them all from the terrifying ordeal.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue examined the passengers, who suffered nothing more than a few scratches in most cases. One person did get assessed for injuries, but they were not hospitalized, according to authorities.

On Friday, police  arrested the individual who had been operating the airboat when it capsized.

"The operator of the airboat, an employee of Coopertown Airboat Rides, was arrested and transported to jail for having neither proof of completion of a boating safety course nor a captain's license issued by the United States Coast Guard," the FFWCC said in a statement.

Police have not released the name of that captain.

Coopertown Airboat Rides did not respond to a request for comment.

Operator arrested after airboat flips into gator-infested waters in Everglades

M ultiple people were rescued after an airboat overturned in the Florida Everglades in western Miami-Dade when the operator, who was later arrested, made a sharp turn to see an alligator.

The incident happened in the area of Coopertown, off Tamiami Trail.

"So the driver tried to do a sharp U-turn to go see an alligator, he took the turn too sharp, some water went into the boat, and it flipped over," a passenger said.

The operator, an employee of Coopertown Airboat Rides, was arrested for not having proof of completion of a boating safety course nor a captain's license issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officials said. His identity wasn't released.

Footage from Chopper 6 showed the airboat on its side, partially submerged in water. Photos showed passengers standing on top of the airboat waiting for help after it flipped.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said they received reports that people ended up in the water but said everyone was out of the water.

Some of the passengers said they were rescued about 10 minutes after the boat flipped.

"At first scary, my first thought was about my wife and family members and then I thought about the alligator that was nearby," one passenger said.

One person was injured but wouldn't need to be hospitalized, officials said. Others had scratches and walked away soaked in water, but fortunately nothing worse, especially knowing alligators were close by.

Footage showed multiple fire rescue trucks at Coopertown, along with police.

No other information was immediately known.

Airboat operator arrested after vessel flips over in the Everglades

MIAMI - The operator of an airboat was arrested Friday afternoon after his vessel flipped over while carrying 9 people in the Everglades in western Miami-Dade.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said, "The operator of the airboat, an employee of Coopertown Airboat Rides, was arrested and transported to jail for having neither proof of completion of a boating safety course nor a captain's license issued by the United States Coast Guard."    

Chopper 4 flew over the scene just south of the Tamiami Trail, images showed the vessel on its side in shallow water.

CBS News Miami spoke with passengers who were on that airboat. 

They described the scary moments after the airboat flipped and then they were in the water. 

All 10 people were recovered from the water and treated on land for minor injuries, officials said. 

They all said the driver was making a U-turn because of an alligator in the water. 

That's when they felt the boat tilting, after what they said was a sharp U-turn. 

Authorities said one person was assessed for injuries, but not transported to a hospital. 

Florida Fish and Wildlife is the lead agency investigating this incident. 

The investigation continues.
