Responsibilities

• Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP’s Nursing Professional Practice Model.
• Develop, evaluate, and revise patients’ plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
• Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks. 
• Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
•  Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
•  Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
•  Adopt healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
•  Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.

Position Details

• Contract Length:  13 weeks – with the possibility of conversion.
• Schedules Options:  3x12’s – 36 hours per week
• Rotating Day and Nights:  7:00 AM – 7:00 PM & 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM – Every other weekend and holiday is required.
• Staffing decisions are made 2 hours prior to a shift, for example for a 7 am shift, the nurse will learn of the work location at 5 am.
• Pay Rate:  $65.38 
• Units/Specialties: 

o    These roles will be rotating/floating locations between CHOP Main hospital (3401 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104) and CHOP King of Prussia Hospital (550 S Goddard Blvd, King of Prussia, PA 19406)

Required Education and Experience

• Preferred:  BSN
• Preferred:  Highlight specific inpatient specialty experience (Med/Surg, ER, and ICU)
• According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services), a copy of the diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

• CPR Certification issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Registered Nursing License or active Temporary Practice Permit in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or State of New Jersey, depending on the assigned work location.
• For RN roles, CHOP accepts nursing licenses issued from a Nursing License Compact (NLC) State.
• Preferred:  Active membership in a professional nursing organization.
• Work Authorization : Green Card, US Citizen
• Preferred years of experience : 2+ Years
• Travel Required : No travel required
