The bachelor season 28 star joey graziadei's 1st hometown date revealed (spoilers).

The Bachelor season 28 is heating up as lead Joey Graziadei heads to his finalists' hometowns for some classic Bachelor dates. Who will be up first?

WARNING! This article contains spoilers for The Bachelor season 28!

  • The first hometown date of The Bachelor season 28 will be with contestant Daisy Kent, who's originally from Minnesota.
  • Photos of Joey Graziadei and Daisy outside her childhood home show a happy couple, indicating a successful date.
  • The Bachelor season 28 will feature international travel and provide viewers with a mix of exciting adventures and downtime for Joey and the contestants.

The Bachelor season 28 lead Joey Graziadei may have months before his season premieres, but he’s already visiting his finalists' hometowns--and his first hometown date has been revealed. As Joey moves through his time as The Bachelor, his journey has been followed by several spoiler accounts that have been keeping track of his contestants and the dates they’re publicly going on. Though it's enjoyable to watch The Bachelor as it airs, knowing what to expect and following along with the spoilers can be just as fun. With Joey as a popular lead , there's a lot of interest in seeing what’s happening well before the season premiere.

According to popular spoiler account Reality Steve , Joey’s first hometown date on The Bachelor season 28 will be with Daisy Kent, who’s originally from Minnesota. Daisy currently lives in San Diego, California, but is originally from Minnesota and surely looks forward to bringing Joey to her hometown to meet her friends and family.

Reality Steve shared that Daisy is Joey’s first hometown date, and though he’s not certain of the rest yet, Daisy will be starting things off on the right foot. Though Daisy’s only 24 years old, her Bachelor season 28 cast profile makes it seem like she’s ready to start the next phase of her life, hopefully with Joey by her side.

Reality Steve dropped more than just the information that Daisy’s hometown will be the first of the season; he also shared some photos of the happy couple from outside her childhood home. Though The Bachelor couple is surrounded by cameras, they look to be happy together as they hug and kiss on Daisy’s front steps. Joey, who arrived carrying a bag likely for Daisy’s family, looks excited as the pair heads into the house. Later, as Joey leaves, the couple takes a moment to themselves to say goodbye before Joey heads off to his next date.

While little is known about The Bachelor season 28 thus far, there have been some spoilers surrounding the cast and filming locations. The cast, which was revealed earlier this year with names, images, and profiles, looks to be an interesting mix of women from all over North America. As for Joey’s filming locations, it has been revealed that The Bachelor season 28 will get international very quickly, as Joey’s contestants jet off to Europe within the first few episodes of the season. The cast will return to North America for some Canadian travels before heading into the hometown dates, starting off in Minnesota.

While there’s still quite some time before The Bachelor season 28 airs on ABC, there have been a decent amount of spoilers released to give viewers a taste of how the season will look moving forward. For those who have been excited to see Joey as the lead, the season sounds like an exciting mix of travel and downtime, giving Joey a look at his cast in every situation. With The Bachelor hoping to provide Joey and the woman of his choosing a happy life together, the season is shaping up to be a great one.

'The Bachelor' Season 27's Hometown Episode Gave Kaity the Biggest Lead

Zach's final hometown visit gave the most insight into how he's feeling.

The Bachelor has seen Season 27 unfold in a much more mild-mannered way void of some of the usual nonsense that occurs . With Zach Shallcross , there’s been less drama among the group and more of a focus on individual moments. There are always going to be a few women who begin to get inside their heads and start to panic. Outside of that, it’s been as smooth sailing of a season as the ABC program has seen. Because of that, there has been a pretty tough-to-read competition going on for Zach’s heart. Up until Monday’s episode, which featured the staple hometown visits, there really wasn’t a clear-cut frontrunner. That uncertainty cleared up quite a bit after the interaction Zach had while visiting with Kaity Biggar . It was an interaction he had with her mother that may have tipped his hand to where his heart lies.

'The Bachelor's Hometown Episode Sees Zach Open Up to Kaity’s Mom

On his fourth and final hometown visit after previously visiting with Gabi Elnicki , Ariel Frenkel , and Charity Lawson , Zach headed to his current residence, Austin, Texas, where he met up with Kaity. Right off the bat, it’s clear there’s something special between these two. While it’s not the easiest to read where Zach’s head has been at this season, the most obvious sign that Kaity was high on the radar occurred on their first date. That was when the two got to hang out all alone at a museum and even stayed together in a tent, which was something typically not seen outside the Fantasy Suites that occur at the end. Taking that into account and that he and Kaity already live in the same city, Kaity clearly has an advantage over the other three contestants.

Yet, there still was something with the other three girls, namely Ariel and Gabi, that kept viewers guessing. All of this came to an end when he sat down to talk with Kaity’s mother, Anne. Prior to this, The Bachelor producers did a good job of showing how much Kaity emphasized her mother’s importance. We were reminded that the two share a special bond as Kaity was her support when her father left at a young age and her stepfather left later in life. Raising Kaity as a single mother for much of her life, it’s understandable why Anne means so much to her. That’s why Zach’s talk with her was going to be so important and likely why ABC opted to save this hometown visit until the end.

The Question We All Wanted to Know Was Asked by Kaity’s Mom

the-bachelor-season-27-zach-kaity

There comes a point in each hometown where someone from the family wants to know the truth . Most times, the show’s lead will talk around the subject as a way to not over-commit and build up the family’s confidence that it will be their daughter being picked. Occasionally, some Bachelors will fall into the trap, sometimes with multiple families, which always ends messy. In Zach’s case, he navigated the waters pretty well through the first three hometowns, but it was clear he approached Kaity’s visit differently.

When the two sat down, Kaity's mom Anne posed to Zach, “Do you think you’re falling in love with Kaity?” Instead of avoiding the L word, Zach went and answered it as honestly as he could have without ruining the suspense of the final few episodes. Zach explained that love is an important word and one he doesn’t “just toss around.” He appeared to head one way before telling Anne what she wanted to hear, “I can tell you this. I can see myself falling in love with her.” This moment clearly had a different feel than any of his other conversations with the first three families. Being as honest as he was without explicitly saying the l-word suggests that Kaity truly does have a leg up in the competition. Anne would later go on to tell Kaity that she “100% supports this moving forward.”

There’s only so much the show can do to lay out what is going on inside its Bachelor's head, but this move by Zach really makes it tough to envision him picking Ariel or Gabi (Charity did not receive a rose at the ceremony), barring something unexpected happening at the Fantasy Suites. There’s always a chance, because The Bachelor tends to have a few twists and turns over the final few weeks, but there’s no doubt that Kaity is the leader of the pack after the hometown episode.

The Bachelor airs on Monday nights on ABC.

The ‘Bachelor’ Recap: Dendrophilia, Delis, and Heartbreak at the Hometowns

Zach crosses the country visiting the hometowns of his final four girlfriends—and maybe, for the first time, realizes that they have to pick him just as much as he gets to pick them

It’s time for Hometowns, the point in every Bachelor season when shit starts getting real: Families and feelings are involved now. The lead and his final four women have broken free of the Bachelor bubble. Hard questions are coming, typically from overprotective fathers. And, of course, there’s the precedent, built over seasons of seasons of TV, that the lead’s girlfriends will tell him they’ve fallen in love with him.

But not this season. We’re an episode away from Fantasy Suites—or, as Zach describes it in the preview for next week, “the sex date”—and the closest we get to the L word in the Hometowns episode is “the idea” of “falling” “in love.” That’s what Charity tells Zach she’s starting to feel, and what Zach tells Kaity’s mom, Anne, he could see happening with her daughter. That’s Level 3 on The Bachelor ’s declarations of love scale , just below “I’m falling in love with you” but still a pretty long way away from “I love you.”

Honestly, though, it’s refreshing to have reached this point in what has been a very formulaic Bachelor season without any unrealistic sweeping declarations of love, and to have made it through an entire Hometowns episode without the Bachelor asking a father for a marriage blessing. Instead, on each of the four hometown dates, from rural Vermont to New York City to southern Georgia to Austin, Texas, it’s like there’s an understanding that there’s a flaw in this show’s very premise—that it’s not simply the Bachelor choosing which lady he’d like to marry, or at least which lady he’d like to be featured in a People magazine photo spread with before they split up six months from now. Finally, everyone seems to be acknowledging the truth: that these women are actually choosing whether they’d like to be with the Bachelor, too.

Least Satisfying Edit: Zach and the Maple Tree

From the moment that Gabi forced Zach to take a shot of maple syrup upon her entrance from the limo back in the season premiere, we could have predicted that maple syrup would feature prominently in her hometown date in Pittsford, Vermont. Indeed, this date is some sort of New England fall fever dream: We see Zach and Gabi clad in flannel, frolicking in crunchy yellow leaves that cover the forest floor, as Gabi promises to give Zach “a full maple experience.” This means tapping a maple tree with a handheld drill and trying to extract raw sap. And this is where it gets, well, weird.

There’s a lot of TV out there. We want to help: Every week, we’ll tell you the best and most urgent shows to stream so you can stay on top of the ever-expanding heap of Peak TV.

Gabi alleges that tapping a maple tree was one of her favorite childhood activities, but it doesn’t take a ton of effort for producers to turn tapping a maple tree into a metaphor for tapping … something else. Surprising no one, Bachelor editors cue up the soundtrack from a ’70s porno as Zach and Gabi trade innuendos, and then the camera zooms in on a shot of what can only be described as Zach finger banging a tree hole.

“Is it sticky in there?” Gabi asks.

“It does feel kind of warm,” Zach answers.

Ultimately, Zach and Gabi discover that they didn’t drill deep enough, and they fail to finish extracting any syrup. Here’s hoping that isn’t also a metaphor.

Most Gastrointestinal Trauma: Zach and Ariel’s NYC Date

Ariel introduces Zach to her parents, brother, and sister-in-law on her hometown date. But before we get there (and we will, in a minute), she tells Zach that she has another family member he needs to meet: New York City. And by New York City, she really means New York cuisine. Their daytime date, which starts in Washington Square Park, is quite the gastrointestinal adventure. First, they visit a pizza parlor for a giant slice of pepperoni pizza (“Oh my God, carbs are so good,” Zach says) and then a traditional Jewish deli for sandwiches—pastrami for Ariel and beef tongue for Zach (“I’m a fan of the tongue,” he says, proving he didn’t leave the sexual innuendos in Vermont)—and gefilte fish. (Sidenote, but when choosing which deli to bring Zach to, why didn’t Ariel pick Katz’s? It’s the When Harry Met Sally deli! Zach could’ve said, “I’ll have what she’s having”!) Finally, Ariel leads Zach into a coffee shop that’s not a coffee shop at all, but the secret door to a speakeasy, where they toast with espresso martinis.

hometown visit bachelor

We’ve all tried to do an NYC food tour before … and we’ve all come to the bitter realization that there are limits to what the human body can take. It’s no wonder that by the time they make it to the evening portion of the date—at a Brooklyn winery—Zach looks like he’s about to die.

Best Worst Date: Errands in Austin

One of the biggest problems with this entire franchise is that it expects the lead to pick a partner while essentially dating in a fantasy world—helicopter rides and hot tubs in the woods and horse-drawn carriages and sleepovers at museums. Even the hometown dates, the only time when we’re supposed to get a sense of what normal life might be like, feel extraordinary. That’s what made Kaity and Zach’s date in their shared hometown of Austin so unusual. There was no pretense that Kaity had to show Zach around—if anything, Zach should have been the tour guide, since Kaity tells us she had lived in Austin for only a few weeks before she left for filming.

That’s why her house is basically empty and she needs Zach’s help settling in. What follows is the realest shit I’ve seen in 27 seasons of The Bachelor : After they go grocery shopping at a bougie market, Kaity enlists Zach to carry a mattress and build furniture—FROM IKEA—and somehow, they still want to make out with each other when they finish.

hometown visit bachelor

No one in the history of relationships has ever smiled at their partner while attempting to assemble an IKEA bookshelf. I was already pretty convinced before this episode that Zach would pick Kaity at the end of this. Now I’m sure of it.

Best Interviewer: Ariel’s Brother, Bobby

Older siblings truly did the emotional heavy lifting this week, and none handled the task better than Ariel’s brother, Bobby, who made it pretty clear that he thinks that both Zach and this entire show are full of shit. “Calling myself a skeptic and saying this is unorthodox is an understatement,” Bobby says as soon as he and Zach sit down for a one-on-one conversation.

He doesn’t let up. Bobby asks Zach whether he knows Ariel’s middle name or her birthday. (Zach doesn’t.) He reminds Zach that Ariel needs to pick him and asks why she should. (Zach is stumped … he mumbles through an answer about having an open heart before finally setting on “I’m a good cook,” which I’m pretty sure we can all agree is a lie.) Finally, Bobby asks Zach how he’ll reconcile the fact that he and Ariel come from very different backgrounds. Her parents escaped religious persecution in the Soviet Union, and Judaism is a core part of Ariel’s life. Zach, meanwhile, has spoken very little about his own faith—and didn’t even include it among his favorite f words on the first night, when he told the women he loved “family, football, and frozen pizza.” (See: I knew the “good cook” thing was a lie.) Ominous music plays as Zach tries to come up with a satisfactory answer, though all he can manage is “Families will make it work. That’s how I see it.”

Families of future contestants on this show can learn a lot from Bobby’s delivery: He was blunt and to the point, and he didn’t let Zach off the hook. Asking the lead whether he even knows one of his girlfriends’ birthdays is so cutting and effective in its simplicity. Zach wasn’t scared away by Bobby, but we’ll have to see whether the questions Bobby raised ultimately become an issue in his relationship with Ariel.

Best Edit: Charity

Before Charity and Zach even arrive to meet her family in Columbus, Georgia, we know it’ll be an emotional day. Charity’s family—her parents, two brothers, and sister—along with a bunch of friends, sit around a long table discussing Charity’s past heartbreak. They recall how devastated she was after her last breakup and how hard it was on all of them to see her so heartbroken, and they discuss how difficult it would be to see her go through that experience again. (You’ll recall that last week the magician-slash-mentalist, likely with an assist from a Bachelor producer, got Charity to reveal that her biggest relationship fear is infidelity.)

So no one should be surprised that Charity spends basically this entire episode in tears. “I’m really happy,” she tells her girlfriends. “I hope you guys can see that.” (It is unclear whether they can see that.)

The family portion of the date reaches its emotional peak in Charity’s one-on-one time with her brother Nehemiah, who breaks down in tears himself when he tells her he wasn’t sure she would be OK after her last breakup. She tries to reassure her brother by explaining that Zach is “emotionally intelligent” and “confident in who he is.” (It is unclear whether he is either of those things.)

Later, after some intimate slow dancing at a country bar, Charity tells Zach that “it’s safe to say I’m falling in love.” He responds with a quick kiss and a hug and the five words every girl wants to hear: “Wild, I know, it’s crazy.”

We can all see where this is headed, right? Yep, Zach sends Charity home at the rose ceremony. As he walks her out, he tells her that he’s felt sick to his stomach all day and came to his decision only a short time before handing out the roses, and that he “might be making a mistake.” He tells her he’s “grateful to know her” and then delivers the real gut punch: “You deserve all the love, and I couldn’t give it to you.”

Charity repeats those words from the back seat of the limo as she’s driven away. “I don’t know what that freaking means,” she says, wiping a river of tears from her eyes.

But I do: You’re going to be the Bachelorette.

The Bachelor’s Joey Admits He Feared Hometown Dates Would Be a ‘Step Back’ for His Relationships

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

While teasing the upcoming hometown dates episode on season 28 of The Bachelor , lead Joey Graziadei admitted to his biggest fear about meeting his final four’s families.

“I think anyone that’s been to that point can understand how good things are going for a lot of relationships at that point [in the season],” the tennis instructor, 28, said on the Thursday, February 29, episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. “You might be hitting the best point possible. You’re seeing something grow, seeing something get to the point where this might actually work. I was so afraid for hometowns being a step back.”

Joey said that his relationships with Kelsey Anderson, Daisy Kent, Maria Georgas and Rachel Nance were going “so well” before hometowns and he feared “something going wrong” when the women introduced him to their loved ones. His biggest concern was the relationships “not moving at the same trajectory as [they] were” because of something that happened during the family meetings.

However, at that point in the season, he admitted he was still pretty confident that everything would work out . He told hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt that he was 70 or 80 percent sure the process would work for him as he went into the crucial hometown week.

“I could see the relationships were getting there but we [hadn’t] gotten to the point of anyone expressing that they’re in love with me, if there’s real feelings, if they could see a future,” he explained. “Those conversations come later on. I think what you’re feeling is, ‘Is [this] going to keep progressing? It is right now, but is it going to get there?’ So there’s always going to be that 20 to 30 percent of doubt until you know that someone is going to feel the way you might feel.”

During the Monday, February 26, episode, Joey made his hardest decision yet when he sent home Jenn Tran and Kelsey Toussant , leaving just four women remaining. He will travel to their hometowns on the March 4 episode.

When Joey was a contestant on The Bachelorette , he had a memorable hometown date thanks to his uncle grilling Charity Lawson about their relationship. Going through that helped give Joey an idea of how he wanted to handle things as the lead.

“I learned not to judge completely off the hometown,” he said. “There’s so many dynamics that might affect if it goes well or not. And definitely be willing to ask questions. If I felt any kind of pushback, I would want to learn and ask more about why because I think it’s important to understand it and not just go with how they’re feeling.”

The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.

'Golden Bachelor' Episode 6 recap: Gerry Turner finds love, more pain from three hometowns

hometown visit bachelor

Love has officially broken out on "The Golden Bachelor," and it's a raging three-headed beast. Before Thursday's episode, widower Gerry Turner , 72, took great pains to avoid saying "I love you" to the steady drumbeat of love directed at him. He had his reasons: "I only want to say 'I love you' to one more person in my lifetime," he explains in Episode 6.

Yet during his three hometown week visits, Gerry finally unleashed the "love" word. Not just once, but about (or to) all three remaining contestants — Theresa, 70; Faith, 61; and Leslie, 64.

This outpouring culminated in the most painful rose ceremony for guilt-consumed Gerry, who broke down before making the final choice over who would stay and who would go home.

The distraught Gerry even bolted from the Bachelor Mansion ceremony room rather than choose, sending one camera crew scurrying after him like it was TMZ at an airport. What happened?

What happened in 'Episode 5'? 'Golden Bachelor' recap as Gerry Turner, reluctant heartbreaker, picks his final 3

Theresa's hometown visit, like the others, featured Gerry meeting the grandkids

We get it, Gerry. Bachelor Nation hometown weeks and family meets are emotionally loaded enough when the contestants are in their 20s and 30s. But in this case, the three visits included concerned daughters and sons worried about their mothers' hearts. And grandkids.

During the packed meeting with Theresa's close-knit family in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, one of her cherubic grandsons adorably blurts out, "I just think you should be the new Pop Pop for us." Those sentiments should be a needle-screech TV moment, considering "new Pop Pop" might never be back. But the YouTube-ready scene earned laughs from the assembled group.

"It doesn't feel that weird, for some reason," Theresa's daughter Jen says to the camera later, wiping away tears. There was real emotion and concern etched on her face over her mother. Powerful stuff. But the sensitive Gerry tried not to let the rush of real sentiments in the artificial environment consume him. Being the star of a reality dating show means exploring strong feelings, sealing them up inside and moving on to two more hometowns, and two other families.

Theresa ended the evening professing her love to Gerry on a carnival ride, just as she did only last week. Gerry returned the sentiments afterward, but only to the camera.

"I've fallen in love again," Gerry says. "I'm in love with Theresa."

Gerry promised Faith's big sister that he'd protect her heart

Next stop was rural Benton City, Washington, for the visit with radio host Faith, who rides her horse to the local grocery store. Faith instructs novice Gerry on basic horseback techniques, which ended in a short ride. Gerry ends it with the mandatory horseback-to-horseback kiss moment. The trickier-than-it-looks lip lock was successful, but Kevin Costner need not worry about Gerry taking his "Yellowstone" saddle perch .

Meeting with Faith's family ‒ especially her protective older sister, Beth ‒ brings Gerry's emotions to the next level. "I love that you've made her feel safe," Beth tearfully tells Gerry. "I hope you take that very, very seriously."

There were no verbal gymnastics around that. "I am and I will," Gerry responds.

Gerry and Faith's mutually whispered "I love you" moment and movie kiss follows shortly thereafter, regrettably in front of the entire seated family. But as the squirming grandkids will attest in future therapy sessions, that kiss had passion.

Gerry howled with delight after telling Leslie he loves her, drops 'future wife' term

Onward to Minneapolis, where "full-on conflicted" Gerry perfects the art of dealing with a potential new family on a reality dating show. The conversation feels more informed, more clear of the odd rules at play. And it all takes place in the downtown social club, Brick X Mortar , which is stunning but lacks the emotion of a real home.

Stuart, Leslie's older brother and father figure, is the Big Gerry Get: He's the family member voicing the most pointed Gerry objections.

"I think it's very strange talking to a guy who is dating my sister, and also dating two others," Stuart says during their moment together.

"Believe it or not, it feels strange to me, too," Gerry responds, before talking of the burden of causing "severely hurt feelings."

Stuart understands and passes on a highly conditional, carefully worded blessing for any possible Leslie-Gerry union. Gerry is so elated he uses the term "future wife" when ruminating on Leslie possibilities to the camera.

His "I love you" speech and final kiss with Leslie is a rom-com perfect moment on a Minneapolis street (and grandkid-free, thank you!). There are many streetside "I love you's," as the dam just broke. Gerry signals his joy with a whoop to the sky.

Who received a rose? Why no one went home on 'Golden Bachelor'

If you didn't understand Gerry's conflicted end-of-week feelings, there's great camera work to help. The Scorsese-style SUV backseat shot of Gerry's perturbed face, seen only through the fleeting, passing street lights, sums it up. That visage screams dread over the looming rose drama.

Looking spent before the ceremony, the unshaven Gerry is able to hand out one red rose to Leslie. Then it's Runaway Golden Bachelor, as Gerry exits and emphatically breaks his no-cursing rule (which is bleeped). With hands on his knees, he discusses throwing up over the gut-wrenching decision.

Gerry utters one more curse before host Jesse Palmer's voiceover interrupts with details of next week's "Golden Bachelor."

Holy Han Solo In carbonite! ABC is making audiences wait another week to reveal Gerry's eventual decision over the still-standing roseless duo of Theresa and Faith. Which of them receives the final rose? And who goes home? We'll find out next week.

'The Bachelor' Recap: Ben Visits Hometowns of Final Four Bachelorettes

The final four ladies got to introduce Ben to their families.

— -- SPOILERS

" The Bachelor ," Ben Higgins, met the families of the final four women on Monday night's episode of the ABC reality series.

Ben visited the hometowns of Amanda, Caila, JoJo and Lauren B. before eliminating one of them back in Los Angeles.

His first stop was Laguna Beach, California, where Amanda introduced him to her two daughters at the beach. The girls were shy around him at first, but they slowly warmed up to him as they played in the sand.

At the home of Amanda's family, her father warned Ben that being a stepdad to her children would be a big responsibility. Before saying goodbye, Ben told Amanda that her family was "awesome" and "incredible."

In Portland, Oregon, Ben caught up with Lauren B. They went sightseeing, and checked out a whiskey museum.

Ben was gently grilled by Lauren's sister. He became emotional as he told her how lucky he feels to be with Lauren.

Ben headed next to Hudson, Ohio. There, Caila showed him a good time, taking him to her father's toy factory, where they built a toy home they designed.

Caila later opened up to her dad about her relationship with Ben, saying, "This is it." Her father noted how heartfelt her words were, which made the romance seem real to him. Caila's mom encouraged her to be honest with Ben about her feelings.

The most dramatic hometown visit was in Dallas, where JoJo received a letter from an ex-boyfriend. He begged her to take him back, but she cut ties with him once and for all by phone.

JoJo's brothers proved to be an even tougher challenge for her and for Ben. One brother asked her, "How can you fall in love with someone you've only been on two dates with?"

He added, "I just want you to keep your heart guarded."

The brothers applied more pressure in a conversation with Ben, suggesting that he isn't as invested in his relationship with JoJo as she is, and that he'd been coached on how to answer their questions.

The episode ended in Los Angeles, where Ben sent home Amanda, admitting to her that he had stronger feelings for the other three.

Next Monday night, Ben, Caila, JoJo and Lauren B. go to Jamaica .

‘Bachelor’ Editing Theory Suggests Daisy Kent Still Hasn’t Confessed Feelings for Joey Graziadei

Daisy Kent expressed hesitation to tell Bachelor Joey Graziadei that she is in love with him — and it’s unclear if she got there ahead of the hometown dates.

During the Monday, February 26, episode of the ABC series, Joey, 28, pointed out that Daisy, 25, was the only contestant remaining who hadn’t said that she is “falling” for him. After their one-on-one date, Daisy appeared to say in a confessional that it’s “happening,” i.e. she is starting to get those feelings for the lead — but alum Courtney Robertson isn’t convinced .

“Daisy — I don’t know if anybody’s ever gotten to this point and she’s like, ‘Hey, I’m not going to love-level 4 you and say I’m falling for you.’ And I thought it was interesting. Something I noticed with the ice skating date afterwards she’s like, ‘I’m falling.’ And then they show it in the next clip, [her saying], ‘I think it’s happening.’ But I wondered if she was talking about falling on the ice skating rink and then they just clipped it together,” Courtney suggested on Us Weekly ‘s “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast.

She believes Daisy could’ve been talking about falling on the ice. “If you watch it back, you can see that they’ve clipped two things together. It’s not fluid. She’s like, ‘I’m falling.’ She was probably like, ‘I’m falling all over the place,'” Courtney said.

Regardless, Courtney noted that Joey and Daisy are “so cute together” — but Kelsey Anderson might be the new frontrunner for the final rose.

'Bachelor' Editing Theory Suggests Daisy Kent Still Hasn't Confessed Feelings for Joey Graziadei

“It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. [Daisy has] got high likability and her story line is super compelling and he seems into her,” she said. “But I will say Kelsey’s date — I feel like she’s kind of been a Lauren Luyendyk where she’s just kind of been there but not overtly a frontrunner until we saw this date. Towards the end it’s like, ‘Oh, wow, he really likes her.'”

Courtney is referring to Arie Luyendyk Jr. ‘s runner-up-turned-wife, Lauren, whom the season 22 Bachelor married in 2019.

“He was like a smitten little kitten,” Courtney said. “And I was like, ‘Wow, I remember that feeling in the beginning.’ He wears his heart on his face and I totally picked up on that. He has googly shooting hearts out of his eyes for her. So I think she was kind of buried in there.”

The Golden Bachelor hometown dates recap: Meet your new stepdad

Gerry's hometown dates with Theresa, Faith, and Leslie result in multiple "I love yous."

Kristen Baldwin is the TV critic for EW

hometown visit bachelor

This week's hometown dates episode of The Golden Bachelor had everything: Adorable kids! Emotional mother-and-child reunions! And a brutal rose ceremony cliffhanger!

Let's recap, folks.

Before we get to the first date, can we just take a moment to appreciate Gerry's effortless travel-day cool?

This man is something else.

Hometown Date No. 1: Theresa Location: Shrewsbury, N.J. Relatives present: Theresa's sisters Mary and Charlotte, her daughter Jen, her son-in-law Matt, and her three grandkids.

Gerry and Theresa meet up in a local park. I was a little worried that producers would make Theresa attempt a huju , but thankfully, her feet stayed on the ground during their reunion hug.

Theresa says she hasn't brought a man home to meet her family since her husband died, and Gerry is appropriately honored. All right, let's do this, people. Gather in the living room — Nana and her new boyfriend are here!

Theresa breaks the ice by regaling everyone with the story of her "birthday suit" limo exit, and then she sits down with her sisters for some girl talk. "I really felt this connection from the very beginning," says Theresa. Still, she's worried: "I'm 70! I'm competing with 60-year-olds!" (Oof, age-based insecurities never truly go away for women, I guess.) Charlotte and Mary assure their sister that she and Gerry seem like a "perfect fit" for each other.

Meanwhile, Gerry heads outside to face a serious interrogation.

Let him have it, boys! Don't hold back! Actually, never mind. Gerry is the one asking most of the questions. He wants to know what the boys think about him dating their Nana, and the boy in the maroon shirt gives an answer that's kind of heartbreaking. "She comes over a lot because she's always lonely," he says. "It would mean a lot to her if you guys get married."

When Gerry asks the boys to share something interesting about their Nana, they immediately launch into an imitation of Theresa taking selfies. "She would do this weird face…" says one boy. "Duck lips, I think it's called?" another chimes in.

For the record, I did a quick scan of Theresa's Instagram and saw no evidence of "duck lips," but who am I to call these adorable little boys liars?

From there, it's time for Gerry to sit down with Theresa's daughter, Jen. The Golden Bachelor raves about how sweet Theresa is, and says he really loves the way she looks at him. But when Jen asks if he's in love with her mom, Gerry isn't sure how to answer. "That's such a hard question," he says. "I'm not even sure I know what it feels like to fall in love again… I don't know right now." Jen does NOT love it.

To be clear, Jen professes to be a big fan of Gerry's. She's just worried that her mom will get hurt, which is understandable. Jen gets emotional thinking about the possibility that her mom could find love again so many years after losing her first husband. "It doesn't really feel that weird for some reason," she says, wiping away tears. "It doesn't change how much love we have for my dad."

Welp, I'm crying. But I made it 20 minutes this time. It's a new record, rose lovers!

As for Mary and Charlotte, they're just happy to see Theresa with a man who seems so kind. "You're a very genuine man, and I see that you have brought Theresa happiness," says Charlotte. "She's found her guy." The Golden Bachelor gets a little emotional hearing this. "They saw how genuinely happy Theresa is," he says, adding that the conversation made him realize "it's certainly possible that I could be having these feelings of love for Theresa."

The date ends on a romantic note, with Theresa confessing her love to Gerry on the Casino Pier Ferris wheel. "Oh Theresa, that makes me feels so special," gushes the Golden Bachelor. (He doesn't say "I love you" back, but he admits in his confessional that he's in love with Theresa.) Then they smooch as fireworks go off in the distance.

Hometown Date No. 2: Faith Location: Benton City, Wash. Relatives present: Faith's friend Joan, her sons Brenden and Nick, two unnamed women who I assume are her daughters-in-law, her sister Beth, and 3 grandkids

Gerry meets Faith on her farm, and she greets him with a half-huju.

Faith is a little worried that Gerry, who lives in "the country city," will be put off by her much more rural lifestyle. And how will he feel about horseback riding, which is one of her favorite pastimes? Oh, ye of little faith, Faith! Don't you know that our Golden Bachelor is up for anything?

Not going to lie, I held my breath through this whole sequence. But Gerry is LOVING it. "A horse ride and a good talk with a pretty lady — how can you not feel good?"

After their ride, Faith and Gerry talk about the very real geographical challenge they'll face if they do end up together. He's got his lake house in Indiana, and she loves her ranch in Washington and feels strongly about being close to her sons. "I understand," says Gerry. "That's something that I'm not sure how we would reconcile." Still, he assures Faith that their relationship is so strong, he feels confident they could figure something out.

Alrightie, it's time. Bring on the relatives!

When Gerry reveals that Faith got the First Impression Rose, her son Brendan raises his arms in victory and screams, "I CALLED IT!" (It's funny, but also surprisingly sweet. If I'm ever a contestant on The Golden Bachelor season 22, or whatever, I hope my son has that much faith in my chances.) ((Also, in case my husband is reading this, I hope you live for another 40 years, honey.))

Faith goes to chat with her sister while Gerry sits down with Brendan and Nick. Like most relatives on hometown dates, they're worried that their loved one could get hurt if she's not the last woman standing. "It's not easy," admits Gerry. "I look at this thing as a huge responsibility."

Though Gerry told Theresa's daughter that he wasn't sure what it felt like to be in love at this point in his life, he's got a different answer when Brendan asks him point-blank if he's in love. "Yeah," says the Golden Bachelor. "I kind of think I am." Twist!

His conversation with Beth is even more emotional, because Beth can't help but tear up when she thinks about her sister's heart possibly being broken. "I love that you've made her feel safe," she says, choking up. "She's trusted you with her heart… and I would love for her to be happy." Gerry, always an empathetic softie, is moved, and they share a sweet hug.

The day ends with Gerry tossing the football with Faith's grandkids, and it's about as cute as it can be. When it's time to say goodbye, Gerry thanks the family for being so kind and welcoming. Beth jokes that Gerry should cancel his final hometown date, and then drops this bomb: "You're a very authentic person, and I can tell you're in love with Faith and want it to be her."

Faith is a little taken aback. "Did she just say that out loud?" she murmurs to Gerry. His response?

Holy crap! Our man went from "I'm not sure if I even know what love is anymore" to saying "I love you" to Faith in front of her whole family! Twist times two!!! Faith says it back, of course, and they smooch as her relatives look on, beaming.

"I love Faith. When she looked me in the eye, I had to say the words," Gerry tells us later. "I couldn't not. The feeling of love, it's a lot of confusion for me." You're not the only one who's confused, sir. You told us at the end of the last date that you were in love with Theresa, too! And you still have one more family to meet. On to Minneapolis!

Hometown Date No. 3: Leslie Location: Minneapolis, Minn. Relatives present: Leslie's sons Eli and Zack, her daughter, Chloë, her brother Stuart, and her three grandkids

Oh snap, we have our first Golden Bachelor huju!

Still, this date gets off on a sad note. Leslie says her brother Stuart, one of her four siblings, is very special to her, because he stepped in to raise her after a family tragedy. One day when she was 16, Leslie's father dropped her off at school and never came back. Eventually, Stuart came to get her. When Leslie asked about their dad, Stuart said, "I'm your dad now." Though she doesn't specify exactly what happened to her father, Leslie says he "passed away" that day — and Stuart "took over" as her father.

"He is a mensch. That means, just a good person," she tells Gerry, adding that he is a mensch, too. "You're a mensch on a bench!" (Fun fact: That's a real thing !)

Leslie and Gerry meet the family at a coworking/event space called Brick & Mortar . (Why aren't they at someone's house? We'll never know!) Chloë jumps right into it, asking how many "girls" are left. Eli is all, "Mom, doesn't it bug you that Gerry's dating other girls?" and Leslie is all, "Well, duh." (I'm paraphrasing.)

Even though they're going in hard, Leslie's children seem to approve of Gerry. "This could be somebody that my mom's, like, finally settling down with, and that's so great," says Chloë. "I think they're perfect together."

Sorry, Chloë, we're going to have to move on because it's time for a Cute Kid Interlude™.

"Is it true, do you actually love my glamma and are you actually a couple?" asks the blonde cherub. Gerry says it is true, and the little girl approves: "I think you would be a very good couple!" Meanwhile, Leslie is chatting with her sons, both of whom agree that their mom and Gerry have good chemistry. "Hopefully, Gerry's the one," says Eli.

Stuart, who looks a little like Marc Maron and who I want to hug because he's clearly been through so much in his life, sits down with Gerry next. "I think it's very strange talking to a guy that's dating my sister, but he's also dating two other women," he says. The Golden Bachelor gets why it's weird and adds that it's hard for him to be "in a situation where I have to severely hurt feelings." He goes on to say that his connection with Leslie "really feels good" and that "she could be the one person that completes the years that I have left on this earth."

Perhaps because he knows Stuart served as a father figure to Leslie, old-fashioned Gerry asks him for his blessing — should Leslie be the one, of course. Blessing granted! "It will be good to have another mensch in the family!" jokes Stuart. Gerry LOVES it.

After this hometown date, Gerry realizes he also loves Leslie. "A wise man told me, 'Don't walk by an opportunity to tell someone you love them when you love them,'" he says. "And Leslie, I love you." Then they make out up against the wall, Arie Luyendyk-style.

Leslie is understandably "ecstatic" and "hopeful." Of course, she doesn't know that Gerry is in love with the other two women as well. Turns out, seniors can be as messy as twentysomethings, rose lovers.

The next night, Gerry arrives at the mansion, and he is feeling the weight of his decision. "I am in an impossible situation right now," he frets. "I honestly have no idea how I'm going to decide."

Better figure it out quick, sir, because your three potential wives are pulling up at the mansion as we speak. Host Jesse Palmer greets each one, and he's clearly rooting for all of them. He looks at them with such (platonic) adoration:

Once all the women are lined up in the rose ceremony room, Gerry enters, and he looks like he's about to pass out from the stress. "Ladies, tonight, I recognize that I have developed a bond and a connection with all three of you," he begins. "Now families are involved, and that makes it all that much harder." Deep breaths, sir! You can do it.

The first rose goes to Leslie, and the second goes to… Hey, Gerry, are you ok?

Crying, Gerry walks out of the mansion and stands on the front steps, bent over with his hands on his knees. "I feel like I'm going to throw up," he groans. "Having to send someone home is gut-wrenching. I'm dying inside a little bit right at this moment."

Wait, WHAT? The episode's over? We're going to have to wait until next week — the Women Tell All episode, by the way — to find out who gets that second rose? Very rude, Team Golden Bachelor. Very rude.

Welp, rose lovers, we're (almost) down to the final two. Who do you think will get that second rose? Did anyone's hometown visit surprise you? And is "glamma" cute or cringey? Let me know your thoughts on Twitter @KristenGBaldwin .

Where are golden bachelor hometowns and one finalist has huge advantage, gerry turner is set to embark on his hometown dates for the golden bachelor - and one of the women lives far closer than the others., hometown dates are here - the golden bachelor: week six preview.

Gerry Turner is officially heading to the hometowns of his final three contestants on The Golden Bachelor.

The Hudson, Indiana native is set to jet around the United States and officially meet the families of remaining contestants Faith Martin, Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist. This will give him a chance to see where they are from, but also watch them interact with their own children and grandchildren as well before he potentially proposes.

The dates are considered crucial in The Bachelor universe, and despite a twist on Gerry's season, they will likely still have a major inpact.

When it comes to where the three women live, and where Gerry is set to travel, one may have a distinct advantage over the others, as her hometown might be perfect for Gerry to visit.

Fans know that Gerry lives in the dream home he purchased with late wife Toni just before she died in 2017, which is located on a lake. He has not shied away from the fact that he loves the water and his life in the Midwest.

Whether he would sell his dream home and move to live closer to the woman he chooses to spend the rest of his life with, or she would uproot everything to live with him, one finalist might have the easiest time–and make the biggest impression–because of her hometown’s location.

Leslie Gerry

Very few women from the season were actually from the Midwest, and two who were exceptionally close to Gerry’s Indiana hometown were sent home on the first night (Pamela was from Aurora, Illinois and Renee hailed from Chicago ).

Of the remaining ladies, just one is from the Midwestern region of the United States–Leslie, who hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota .

Of the three women, the 60-year-old dancer lives the closest to Gerry, with just shy of 600 miles separating their two cities.

In addition, Minneapolis sits along the Mississippi River, and is also home to more than 10 lakes within its borders.

Leslie Gerry

With closer proximity to Gerry and so many bodies of water, the city and Leslie could have the biggest advantage when it comes to his heart in the end, as he could potentially settle nicely into life there if he opted to move–and it is still the closest town to his own family.

His daughter Jenny lives in Holt, Michigan , which is about 700 miles away from Minneapolis, while other daughter Angie’s home in Davenport, Iowa is just 340 miles from there.

Should location be a major factor in Gerry’s final decision, Theresa also has an advantage, though Leslie’s is a bit bigger.

Theresa Gerry

Theresa’s hometown of Shrewsbury, New Jersey , is about 685 miles from Gerry, 710 miles from Jenny and 975 miles from Angie.

Though some of the distance isn’t much more than Leslie, it could prove to work against her. However, she also has access to even more water, as her New Jersey town sits on the Shrewsbury Bay, with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean.

If being near water is important to Gerry, he would be more likely inclined to set up a new home and life with Theresa.

Unfortunately for Faith, who won his first impression rose, she is at the biggest disadvantage. Her hometown of Benton City, Washington is more than 2,000 miles away from Gerry and his eldest daughter, and nearly that same distance from his youngest. The town is surrounded by the Yakima River, but has the least amount of water compared to the other ladies.

Faith Gerry

Regardless of those factors, fans were furious that Gerry’s season only had three hometown dates, instead of the usual four.

In addition, it was also clear that Gerry has a very rough time in the end, as he was seen in a preview running away from the rose ceremony, where he has to make an agonizing decision about who to eliminate.

The Golden Bachelor Fans React To Gerry’s Hometowns Cliffhanger

One woman hasn’t heard “I love you” yet — so is she going home?

Leslie, Faith, and Theresa on 'The Golden Bachelor.' Photo via ABC

The Golden Bachelor’ s hometown dates were always going to look a little different — and even more emotional — than the franchise’s usual meet-the-parents visits .

While it can be hard to win over skeptical parents, it has to be even harder to meet the children, friends, and loved ones that make up prospective partners’ full lives they’ve spent years (decades!) building.

Gerry Turner knew it would be a challenge, albeit an exciting one. “The last time I met a family of someone that I was about to fall in love with was in 1968, when I met Toni’s family ,” he said at the start of the Nov. 2 Golden Bachelor episode. “So, this is a critical week.”

So, how did it go? Here’s a recap of The Golden Bachelor hometowns — including fans’ reactions to *that* cliffhanger.

Sisterly Support

Gerry first met with Theresa Nist’s family in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and it was a warm reception. While catching up with her sisters, Theresa expressed concerns that she was older than her fellow remaining suitors. However, her sisters assured her that she and Gerry were a “perfect fit.”

Theresa on 'The Golden Bachelor.' Photo via ABC

Theresa’s grandsons loved Gerry, too, sharing their impression of Theresa’s selfie pose with their potential step-grandpa-to-be. Viewers on X (formerly Twitter) were obsessed with their interactions, but were worried for Theresa when she told Gerry she was in love with him — and he didn’t reciprocate in the moment.

He did say he was in love in a confessional. But it’s not the same thing! “Was that even real??” wondered one user, while another suggested Gerry might have been “quiet” because it was his first hometown visit.

A Leap Of Faith?

Gerry’s next date was with Faith Martin in Benton City, Washington, where the pair spent time riding horses together — which might seem like a Bachelor Nation cliche, but Faith indeed has a horse! Like, she rides it to get coffee ! So the outing felt very fun and authentic.

They also talked about the practical possibilities of getting engaged. Faith felt a “pull” to be near her sons, she explained. “I want to make sure my kids know that any time they need me, I’m going to be there for them.”

Faith from 'The Golden Bachelor.' Photo via ABC

While the pair didn’t come to any concrete conclusions about the distance dilemma, it didn’t seem to matter once Gerry met Faith’s family. “I can tell you’re in love with Faith, and that you want it to be her,” Faith’s sister told Gerry.

Instead of objecting, Gerry asked Faith if she “would say it out loud,” before the pair told each other “I love you” and shared a kiss that had the whole family blushing — along with viewers online .

“I swear Gerry better not break Faith’s heart,” wrote one user, while another said they were “obsessed” with the couple’s sweet exchange. And while Gerry did have to leave, he whispered “We’re good” to Faith before leaving, which felt like a good sign pre-rose ceremony.

Gerry & “Glama”

Gerry’s final hometown date was with Leslie Fhima in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it was another successful one. Leslie’s grandchildren, who call her “glama” instead of “grandma” (iconic) took well to Gerry. Leslie also shared that her brother, Stuart, was like a father to her — so it was crucial that Gerry got his approval.

Leslie on 'The Golden Bachelor.' Photo via ABC

Fortunately, that’s exactly what happened. “I would definitely give you my blessing,” he said. “It will be good to have another mensch in the family, if that’s possible.”

Gerry also told Leslie “I love you.” And according to one user, it might have sealed the deal. “I think Leslie is the one,” they wrote. “It’s the most sincere ‘I love you’ from Gerry. He wasn’t put on the spot to say it.” And the fact that they kissed against a wall was a lot for fans. The passion!

A Challenging Crossroads

Going into the rose ceremony, Theresa was the only woman who didn’t hear those three pivotal words from Gerry — of which she was keenly aware. “I haven’t heard that from his lips, so it would be wonderful to hear,” she told Jesse Palmer.

Several users noted how awkward it must have been for him to hear that, “ knowing full well that gerry said he’s in love with faith and leslie.”

By the end of the Nov. 2 episode, only Leslie received a rose — because Gerry had to take a moment to collect himself before handing out the second (and final) flower of the night. “I know what I want to do,” he said in a promo for next week’s episode . “I just don’t want to do it.”

So, who will be eliminated? Several fans said they’d be angry if Faith went home, with one describing them as “endgame.” And of course, not getting an “I love you” from Gerry made many viewers believe Theresa would be eliminated next week. As one user put it, “She’s not the one.”

On the other hand, one viewer posited that Gerry is most serious about Leslie — so perhaps “he’ll let Faith go next, so as not to hurt her even further.”

‘The Bachelor’ Joey Graziadei Talks Rewatching Maria Drama: ‘There’s Much More Than Is Shown’

The leading man tells TheWrap why last week’s abrupt elimination “felt right” and teases a “heavy” conclusion to the season

Bachelor-Joey-Graziadei-Maria

As fans of “The Bachelor” engross themselves in this season’s drama — much of which involves contestant Maria Georgas — Joey Graziadei reminds audiences that only some conversations made the final cut.

“It’s definitely interesting to be able to watch back these interviews and the discussions that are going on between the women,” Graziadei told TheWrap. “But I know there’s so much more than is always shown.”

Georgas has been at the center of several drama-filled interactions, including a back-and-forth with Madina Alam about being one of the oldest contestants dating the season’s leading man — which spiraled a tense 2-on-1 date between Georgas, Graziadei and Alam’s friend, Sydney Gordon — and most recently tense moments with Jess Edwards and Lea Cayanan.

As Graziadei watches the drama back, he said “all the women that were involved in it probably wish it didn’t get to the point that it did,” but that they don’t dwell too much on it.

“I didn’t see everything, nor did I really try to go searching for the drama, [but] I always was willing to have conversations when the women brought it up,” Graziadei said. “I was always focusing on my connections.”

The-Bachelor-Joey-Graziadei

Last week’s installment featured a lighthearted one-on-one date with Georgas, which stood as a steep departure from the otherwise emotional and heavy conversations between Graziadei and the women that dominated the episode.

“I think the parts that people can see is I feed off the energy of the person I’m with, and that was a date that she was really enjoying, we just had a good time,” Graziadei said. “With Maria, that’s what happens. We tend to have a good time, and sometimes it’s not as heavy.”

Below, Graziadei detailed the two abrupt departures from last week’s episodes, and how he narrowed down his dating pool ahead of hometown dates.

This past episode we saw a lot of vulnerability from you. Looking back now, why do you think the emotional component of all of this hit you especially hard at this point? It was that part of the season where feelings started to develop on my end and on the women’s end, and insecurity started coming out. I came into this 28 and single and I had issues with relationships in the past where I felt like I wasn’t enough or wasn’t the right person for someone, and you start to question if there’s something wrong with you, and I think people saw that. It’s hard to get into the specifics of it, but truthfully, I think you just saw a vulnerability of someone that was worried of being chosen at the end of the day.

This past episode we saw you say goodbye to Jess during a group date, which is not typically when those goodbyes happen. Why did it feel right to send her home right then and there instead of waiting till the rose ceremony? I think it was just one of those things that was very difficult, but it also felt like the right thing to do. You wait for the rose ceremony when you feel like you need time to understand your feelings, and, as amazing as Jess was and as much as I thought we were starting to build a connection, I could tell that she was in a different place than I was. It would feel wrong to keep her longer or to keep her having hope if I didn’t think I was going to change my mind with time, and that was the first time I really felt that way. Usually, you do take time that last day before the rose ceremony to think things through, but for that day, the most real and strong thing I could do was just be honest with her in that moment.

Bachelor

Lexi also made the difficult choice to leave during the episode after reflecting on her desired timeline to start a family. Did her leaving come as a shock to you? I definitely didn’t expect it because Lexi and I were coming off, not that long ago, the one-on-one, things were starting to build and we were having the serious conversations that we should start to have. But I understood it as much as I wasn’t expecting it. I understood where she was coming from, and as much as I explained that a timeline could change — that was just my thoughts coming into this — I could understand that she didn’t feel like we were going to be on the same page. What’s most important is for her to feel comfortable and feel like it’s the right thing, and I’m happy she was able to leave on her terms and do it her way. I think that’s something that she probably appreciates as well.

At this point in the journey, you’re nearing home towns but you still have to narrow it down a bit. What was your strategy in feeling out who you wanted to pursue a hometown date with? It’s looking at those connections, which one feels the strongest. I was lucky that with my top six going into next week, I’ve had a one-on-one with all of them, so there wasn’t a question of if there was a connection — it was who had the strongest one, which one felt the most right, who could I sit in front of their family and have a conversation with and feel like I could actually express I could see a future?

There wasn’t anything wrong with them. There’s nothing that was bad. It was just the answer of what felt the most right to me and that’s what makes it hard, and that’s what’s going to make it hard to the rest of the process. These are all amazing women that deserve nothing but the best, and it’s a tough position to be in to make those decisions each week.

What else can you tease for the rest of the season? The emotions are probably still going to be there — you’re going to see plenty of vulnerability, you’re going to see tears, you’re going to see difficult decisions being made. It’s just going to become probably more heavy through the rest of the time, which it should be because this is real. This is a serious decision that might be made at the end, and I think people just need to understand that.

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

“The Bachelor” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

The Cutest Photos of Golden Bachelor Winner Theresa Nist and Her Grandkids

Three of Theresa Nist's six grandsons got to spend some quality time with Gerry Turner during his visit to their hometown

Gerry Turner is about to become a step-grandpa of six!

A few episodes before he picked Theresa Nist as the season winner, the Golden Bachelor star ( and grandpa of two granddaughters ) visited his finalists' hometowns to meet their families. Upon his visit to Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Turner bonded with Nist's sisters, her daughter and three of her grandkids Dempsey, Leo and Henry. (Nist's other three grandsons, who live with her son in South Carolina, weren't there to meet Turner.) The three boys didn't hesitate to give the 72-year-old reality star their stamp of approval.

As the world waits to see Turner and Nist wed in a televised ceremony on Jan. 4, 2024, take a look at the six grandkids Nist loves spending time with.

Meet the Boys

Turner got to sit down with three of Theresa's six grandsons during his visit to their home in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Dempsey, Leo and Henry were asked by Turner what they thought of him and their "nana" getting together.

"She comes over a lot because she's always lonely," one of the kids replied. "It would mean a lot to her if you guys get married."

Love for Nana

Turner and the boys had some jesting fun when he asked them what they thought was "most interesting" about their grandma.

"When taking selfies, she would do this weird face," one of the little ones responded, mimicking a pout as he described Nist's picture-ready face.

"Duck lips, I think it's called," another grandson added, as all three boys and Turner started to try the cheeky pout as well.

Home Sweet Home

Theresa Nist/Instagram

Nist was surrounded by her tight-knit circle as she watched her winning season unfold on air. After one episode that Nist described as "a bit hard" to watch due to cast drama, she shouted out her loved ones for their support.

"Thank you to my friends and family that know me and know that I would never mean to make someone else feel bad in any way, and to my new friends that can already see that in me as well.  Love to all!" Nist captioned an Instagram photo featuring her daughter and grandkids among a big group at home .

Going the Distance

The Golden Bachelor finalist's other three grandkids, Brandon, Brody and Braxton, live in South Carolina with their dad, Nist's son Tommy. Even though she lives up the coast, the financial services expert explained that she often travels south to see them .

"We try to visit as often as we can and always spend Christmas together," Nist wrote on Instagram before she was unveiled as the season winner.

Southern Days Ahead

In her new life with Turner, however, Nist won't be missing her son and grandkids down south. The new couple plans to move to Charleston after their televised wedding in January.

After the finale, Turner spoke to PEOPLE about how "fate" guided their choice of where to relocate.

"For the last couple of years, when my family gets together, I've talked about moving to South Carolina, and it's an idea I've toyed with," he said. "And then in conversation with Theresa, a private moment, she's saying, ‘Well, yeah, my son lives near Charleston in South Carolina.’”

"Nothing better than the boys and the beach," Nist captioned one sunny memory with the boys.

Golden Boys

As the Golden Bachelor season kicked off in September, two of the kids dressed up in honor of her debut on the show.

"Two of my six grandsons, Leo and Henry, wearing gold to school and reminding you all that  @goldenbachabc  will be on this Thursday night!!" Nist wrote on Instagram.

Giggles with Grandma

"Henry’s been making me laugh since 2017!" the finalist captioned a precious throwback photo .

Across Generations

Nist's family sure knows how to celebrate another rotation around the sun. In 2016, the grandma-of-six hopped into a bounce house to play with the youngsters. According to her Instagram caption , the fun-filled activity was part of Dempsey's birthday present that year.

In the Family

Nist's Instagram is filled with fun family photos, including some with her daughter Jen , whom Golden Bachelor fans met during Turner's hometown visit.

The More the Merrier

Nist has always been loud and proud about her love for the little ones. Her very first post on Instagram saw her holding two of the boys at home.

Support Squad

As Turner's visit to Shrewsbury wound down, Nist's grandsons shared some sweet wishes for the couple.

"I just think that you should be the new Papa for us," one of the grandkids told the Bachelor himself, much to the delight of everyone else in the room.

‘The Golden Bachelor’ Finale and Hometown Locations, Revealed

ABC’s The Golden Bachelor is the most heart-warming Bachelor Nation show yet. Gerry Turner hopes to find the love of his life after the death of his wife, Toni Turner . And after the first few episodes, we know that Gerry’s next great love is out there. Here’s what fans should know about The Golden Bachelor filming locations, including where the finale and hometowns occur.

[Spoiler alert: The Golden Bachelor hometowns and locations are revealed ahead.]

Where did ‘The Golden Bachelor’ film? Here are the finale and hometown locations

The Golden Bachelor shows multiple locations throughout the season, though it starts at the Bachelor Mansion in Agoura Hills, California. During the premiere, we saw the women riding up in limousines to meet Gerry Turner for the first time, and they then shuffled into the mansion. Past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette showed the contestants sleeping in bunkbeds — and, unfortunately for the seniors in The Golden Bachelor , they didn’t get better sleeping accommodations.

In light of the bunkbeds, now-eliminated contestant Natascha had additional advice for producers. “You have people in their 60s and 70s. Do the rose ceremonies in chairs,” she told the cameras. “They have chair yoga, chair aerobics. Chair rose ceremony.”

As for hometowns, Gerry meets the families of Faith Martin, Leslie Fhima, and Theresa Nist. With this in mind, Gerry will head to Benton City, Washington, for Faith; Minneapolis, Minnesota, for Faith; and Shrewsbury, New Jersey, for Theresa.

According to Reality Steve, Gerry and the contestants this season are likely only heading to domestic cities followed by Costa Rica for the finale. “Costa Rica is where they’re filming The Golden Bachelor finale,” Reality Steve said on the Daily Roundup podcast.

While The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants often travel abroad to host their dates, most of The Golden Bachelor is filmed around Los Angeles. So far, we love how simple and paired-down The Golden Bachelor feels. While it’s fun to watch young couples date in various cities, it feels authentic and wholesome to watch Gerry find love in a more straightforward setting. Given the high audience ratings for the new series, fans feel the same way.

‘The Golden Bachelor’: Gerry Turner Explains Why He’s Crying Profusely on the Show

Gerry Turner talked about the ‘confusion’ he faced regarding the show schedule

Starring in The Golden Bachelor hasn’t been easy for Gerry Turner. The series is full of possibility, but also full of schedules, interviews, and dates — something Gerry isn’t used to.

“There are moments of confusion for me,” he explained to Glamour . “I’m not going to lie, I wonder where I’m going to be and who I’m going to be talking to and what my schedule is ….” However, he says the production interviews are “great fun.”

The Golden Bachelor allowed Gerry to step out of his comfort zone and routines and into the unknown. While he loved getting to know the women and attempting to find love again, he missed some aspects of his everyday life.

“I had some contact with family, and I knew that I would always have that, but what I missed the most was my exercise through pickleball and that circle of friends,” he explained. “I was dying to get back to that because I was feeling like a slug.”

While Gerry doesn’t travel much during his season, he may be willing to travel after his season ends. He mentioned to Glamour that he’s open to moving out of Indiana for the next great love of his life.

The Golden Bachelor  airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
