Drive-Thru Safaris and Wildlife Parks Near Orlando

Here we are in the theme park capital of the world – you have walked, climbed, ridden just about everything from SeaWorld Orlando to Fun Spot America. Now you are tired. Maybe you want to hand the reigns over to someone else and let them do the driving so that you can actually enjoy some of the best things about the summer months in Central Florida. Well, look no further because we have compiled a list of drive-through safaris and guided tours for you.

Drive-Thru Safari Tours and Wildlife Parks Near Orlando

A safari park is a great place for a day trip with the family to enjoy and is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Florida residents, and really anyone visiting safari parks and drive-throughs, can see exotic animals and native Florida wildlife, all while feeling like they are on an African savanna.

Black Point Wildlife Drive

Just a little outside of Orlando, safari adventurers will find the Black Point Wildlife Drive. In the beautiful town of Titusville, in Brevard County, Black Point Wildlife Drive offers visitors a break from major theme parks. This will not be the wildest ride of your life, but instead, a safe, seven-mile one-way road to enjoy the scenery. The park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. The refuge offers safari tours narrated and guided by knowledgeable folks on a shuttle bus and is a great way to learn about wildlife and native plants. During the migratory season, birding tours are offered as well. Spacing is limited in the park, so making reservations is highly recommended. Visitors will need a pass for BPWD; there is a choice between a daily pass of $5.00 at the drive entrance or purchasing an annual pass for $15.00. Keep in mind that vehicles that are longer than twenty-nine feet, buses, and that have trailers are prohibited from driving on the trail. While on the trail, you may stop as often as you like, provided that you move over so other families may pass you. There will be plenty of photo opportunities as well. Younger children (and the older ones too) will enjoy all the fun things that will see along the trail like alligators, birds, American bison, and so much more!

Exotic Animal Experiences in Orlando

We are all about drive-thru safaris and sail-thru safaris, but what about a walk-thru safari? If you are ready to see some of the most exotic animals in Central Florida, then your next stop should be to the Exotic Animal Experiences in Orlando. This is not your typical safari – walk through to see animals like the African Pygmy goat, sloths, spider monkeys, a Dromedary camel, and even a fainting goat! Be prepared to pay a pretty penny for this one though; tours are only offered on Thursdays and Saturdays and they are by appointment only. You can schedule a tour for a private experience with the animals or share the experience with family and friends. Families with children ten and older can choose different encounters with the animals and the price ranges from $150.00 per person for group visits to $750.00 for the ultimate private experience. Take a walk on the wild side and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime adventure

Check out these  resources for saving money  on everyday purchases, activities, restaurants and more.

Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive

If there is an ornithologist in your family, then the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is for them. The diversity of the bird species here range from the bald eagle to the white ibis and with more than 362 different species of birds to watch, visitors are bound to see something unique. The drive-thru is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and federal holidays between 7am and 3pm. All vehicles must exit the park by 5pm. The Wildlife Drive is an eleven-mile excursion that can take families one to three hours to complete, based on the number of stops you make. During the ride, families will see acres of untouched scenic landscapes filled with American alligators, bobcats, otters, bears, raccoons, armadillos, and coyotes. If you are still a little hesitant about doing the actual drive-thru, you can learn a little more about it through the audio tour, available on their website. It is a beautiful, authentic environment filled with both hiking trails and biking trails. At Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, there is something for the entire family to enjoy.

Jungle Adventures, A Real Florida Park

Still want all the fun of the safari, but don’t want to drive? Drive just a little ways from Orlando and head over to Jungle Adventures in Christmas. Do not miss this unique opportunity to see animals from the comfort of a jungle cruise. The Jungle Swamp Queen River Boat take riders through the park where you will see animals native to Florida like Alligators, Panthers, Black Bears, Wolves, White-Tailed Deer and more. At the park, there is even a replica of Spanish Fort Mees. The park is open every day of the year from 9:30am to 5:30pm with the last admittance to the park at 4pm; however, for the safety of the patrons, the Jungle Cruise does not sail during inclement weather. Full-day passes range from free entry to $27.95, depending on age. Annual passes and group pricing is available as well. Start or end your day at the park by watching professionally trained animal handlers feed eight to fifteen-foot alligators at the Gator Jamboree Feeding; if you feel like getting up close and personal with the little critters, head over to one of the wildlife shows where you can feed them yourself.

You won’t find big screens or bags of popcorn at these drive-ins, but they're action-packed and provide lots of entertainment. Silence your cell phone and enjoy the show at these drive-through zoos in Florida.

1. J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge , Sanibel Island

Sunbathing gators, green herons, white ibis and a crocodile call this four-mile Wildlife Drive home. Roseate spoonbills can be found here year-round.

2. Lion Country Safari , West Palm Beach

Florida’s only drive-through safari boasts 800-plus animals, including wildebeests, rhinos and the world’s largest herd of captive zebras. But the giraffes steal the show at Lion Country Safari.

3. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge , Titusville

Amazing wildlife viewing is easy with the self-guided map that lists numbered stops along Black Point Drive. See gators, otters, turtles and hundreds of bird species, including eagles.

4. St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge , near Tallahassee

Rated five stars by birders, this seven-mile drive through zoo takes you past pinelands and salt marshes to Florida’s second-oldest lighthouse. Look for black bears, turkeys, deer and whooping cranes.

6.  Wild Florida , Kenansville

Features more than 200 animals, including exotics like zebras, sloths, lemurs and Watusi, and a walk-in bird aviary with pheasants, parrots and other birds from all over the world. Also: airboat tours, a drive-through safari park and animal shows.

RATED THE #1 OUTDOOR ACTIVITY IN LAKELAND, FLORIDA!

a drawing of a person

Our tour guide, was great! He was knowledgeable and funny. Awesome assortment of animals from antelope to zebra and many in between. We got to feed many of the animals which was interesting and fun. Great opportunity to take close up pictures of the animals. Our daughter also enjoyed feeding the lemurs. It's a fun way to spend a few hours!

a screen shot of an animal

The safari was exciting from the beginning to the end. We enjoyed feeding the camels the most. Seeing the ostrich and the huge eggs they lay was amazing. The cheetah was breathtaking. Although the water buffaloes were huge, they were quite gentle and easy to feed. Our tour guide Jan was very knowledgeable. I look forward to doing this again!

a close up of a sign

Our Safari ride was enjoyable and very informative. Our guide, Art, was extraordinarily knowledgeable about all of the animals we saw. My grand children and I really enjoyed being able to feed many of the animals. It was a wonderful experience and I am telling all of my friends that it is a wonderful place to take their grand children.

We loved this tour. Definitely a hidden gem in central Florida. J.J was friendly and knowledgeable and my 90 year-old father-in-law was able to sit comfortably in the shaded open-air vehicle and enjoy every aspect of the tour. If you're able, feed the Lemurs! It's an optional add-on activity but lots of fun. Would recommend this place to anyone!

JJ, our guide, was so knowledgeable about the animals. We were able to feed many treats to the animals as we travelled along on the open air (but covered) safari bus, which was great for interacting and viewing the animals. It was our favorite part of our vacation! Would definitely come here again. Lots of fun for people of all ages.

20 Best Things To Do In Orlando, Florida

Ballet, Broadway, deep space, and fine dining don't need magic to shine. Here are the best things to do on your next trip to Orlando.

Cynthia J. Drake has been a travel writer since 2009. Based in Austin, Texas, she has written for Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, Parents, AAA, Texas Monthly, and other publications.

What To Do In The Parks

What to do beyond the parks, what to do outdoors, where to shop in orlando, where to eat in orlando, where to stay in orlando.

Most people associate Orlando with its beloved theme parks: Walt Disney World , Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and nearby Busch Gardens, which collectively bring in more theme park visitors than any other U.S. state or even any country in the world.

But along with an ambitious multibillion-dollar airport renovation designed to make travel to and from Orlando more convenient, there are dozens of new restaurants and attractions on tap to open in the coming years, expanding tourism options beyond the theme parks and giving visitors even more reasons to return to Florida for another dose of magic. If it's been a while since you've been to Orlando, check out these things to do inside and outside of the parks.

Get in Line for New Attractions

We'd be remiss not to mention the latest attractions over at Orlando's theme parks. At Walt Disney World, these include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT, plus a new show, " Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond! " at Animal Kingdom. Then there's the Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure, as well as the forthcoming DreamWorks Destination, an interactive experience with characters from films like Trolls , Madagascar , and Kung Fu Panda . Preparations are also underway for a fourth theme park at Universal Studios in 2024 called Epic Universe.

Build Your Fun at LEGOLAND

Farther afield at LEGOLAND in Winter Haven, guests can celebrate the first Peppa Pig Theme Park in the world, as well as the park's newest ride, Pirate River Quest, a treasure hunt for the whole family. This year, SEA LIFE Aquarium is set to open with interactive exhibits and a variety of marine life, and LEGO Ferrari Build and Race will feature a life-size LEGO Ferrari and a build zone for guests to construct their own race cars.

See Live Performances

Once you're tired of theme parks, take in a Broadway, orchestra, or ballet performance at Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts , which opened in early 2022 and is called "one of the world's most acoustically perfect spaces." It's designed to achieve an N1 sound rating, the lowest sound humans can distinguish.

Marvel at Acrobatics

If you're a fan of Cirque du Soleil and Disney, check out a performance of Drawn to Life , combining Disney animation with jaw-dropping acrobatics. The whole family will enjoy high-flying stunts, original music, and new animation that can only be seen in Orlando. The show recently unveiled a new finale.

Visit the Kennedy Space Center

Orlando's NASA headquarters saw upgrades to its Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex with the opening of the Deep Space Launch Complex in 2022, which entices space fans with immersive displays and launch viewing opportunities. Rides take visitors on a journey to Mars, through uncharted worlds, and up close to stars, nebulas, and other cosmic wonders.

Cool Off in the Springs

Florida’s iconic clear blue waters aren’t limited to the shore. The state’s freshwater springs are idyllic swimming holes, and you don’t have to travel far from the buzz of Orlando to enjoy them. Wekiwa Springs State Park is just a short drive away, and guests can kayak or swim in the crystal-clear, 72-degree water. Blue Springs outside of downtown Orlando is another popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, diving, tubing, and paddleboarding. The warm water is a favorite winter hangout for hundreds of the area’s manatees, and visitors can view the creatures from the park’s boardwalk.

Tour the Swamps

Just 30 minutes from Walt Disney World, tour Florida’s swamps and marshes aboard an airboat, where you’ll feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando. Passengers of Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides get spectacular views of Florida’s wildlife and landscape. Keep an eye out for alligators, birds, and more on your tour.

Gear Up for a Beach Day

If you’re headed to the Kennedy Space Center, grab your beach gear and spend some time combing the Florida coast . About an hour from Orlando, Cocoa Beach is the perfect day trip. Dip your toes in the surf, build sandcastles, kayak, visit the pier, and enjoy stretches of golden sand.

Shop for Souvenirs

Even if you don’t go to the theme parks, you can still grab a souvenir or two. Parking is free at Disney Springs , and there are lots of shops, restaurants, and activities to keep the whole family entertained. Besides Disney-themed stores like The Art of Disney and Disney’s Days of Christmas, you’ll find popular apparel, jewelry, and accessories shops. Take time out for bowling at Splitsville or a fun "amphicar" tour of Lake Buena Vista.

Hit the Shops in Winter Park

Just outside of Orlando, the tree-lined streets and historic homes of Winter Park are the perfect backdrop for window shopping. You’ll likely not leave the various boutiques and gift shops empty-handed. Take a break at one of the numerous sidewalk cafes where you can plan the rest of the day’s itinerary over coffee and lunch.

Find Handmade Goods at East End Market

Taste the Tropics at Four Flamingos

Orlando has always gone beyond what most folks think of as typical theme park cuisine, and the city's latest offerings are a testament to that. Four Flamingos , which opened at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress from acclaimed Top Chef All-Star Richard Blais, offers a Floridian menu that sings with tropical flavors, like the Oxtail and Foie Gras Empanada with Mango Chutney and Passion Fruit Flan.

The views while dining are out of this world.

Eat Your Way Through Disney Springs

A great family activity for foodies of all ages is to take a food crawl through Disney Springs , hitting up favorites like the Daily Poutine , Cookes of Dublin , Sunshine Churros , the Coca-Cola Store , and our family favorite, T-REX .

disneysprings.com , 1486 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Florida is swamped by disease outbreaks as quackery replaces science

The state is in the grip of a measles outbreak, yet Joseph Ladapo, the surgeon general, continues to ignore medical science to stop it

Shortly before Joseph Ladapo was sworn in as Florida’s surgeon general in 2022, the New Yorker ran a short column welcoming the vaccine-skeptic doctor to his new role, and highlighting his advocacy for the use of leeches in public health.

It was satire of course, a teasing of the Harvard-educated physician for his unorthodox medical views, which include a steadfast belief that life-saving Covid shots are the work of the devil , and that opening a window is the preferred treatment for the inhalation of toxic fumes from gas stoves.

But now, with an entirely preventable outbreak of measles spreading across Florida , medical experts are questioning if quackery really has become official health policy in the nation’s third most-populous state.

As the highly contagious disease raged in a Broward county elementary school, Ladapo, a politically appointed acolyte of Florida’s far-right governor, Ron DeSantis , wrote to parents telling them it was perfectly fine for parents to continue to send in their unvaccinated children.

“The surgeon general is Ron DeSantis’s lapdog, and says whatever DeSantis wants him to say,” said Dr Robert Speth, a professor of pharmaceutical sciences at south Florida’s Nova Southeastern University with more than four decades of research experience.

“His statements are more political than medical and that’s a horrible disservice to the citizens of Florida. He’s somebody whose job is to protect public health, and he’s doing the exact opposite.”

Ladapo’s advice deferring to parents or guardians a decision about school attendance directly contradicts the official recommendation of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which calls for a 21-day period of quarantine for anybody without a history of prior infection or immunization.

It is also in keeping with Ladapo’s previous maverick proclamations about vaccines that health professionals say pose an unacceptable danger to the health of Florida residents. They include official guidance to shun mRNA Covid-19 boosters based on easily disprovable conspiracy theories that the shots alter human DNA and can potentially cause cancer – “scientific nonsense” in the view of Dr Ashish Jha, a former White House Covid response coordinator.

Meanwhile, with measles having been eradicated in the US since 2000, the disease’s resurgence, paired with Ladapo’s latest misadventure, has prompted a new round of mocking commentary. Florida: Come for the Sunshine, Leave With the Measles, opined the Orlando Sentinel ; “Measles? So On-brand for Florida’s Descent Into the 1950s”, was the take of the Tampa Bay Times .

The backlash prompted the Florida department of health to publish “ clarifying information ” this week, in which it insisted that the stay-at-home recommendation had in fact been given to parents at Manatee Bay elementary school, and attempted to blame the media for “reporting false information and politicizing this outbreak”.

Department officials repeated the claim in a subsequent statement.

“The media has continued to peddle the narrative that Dr Ladapo has defied science in his recent letter. In reality, he has used available data and immunity rates to drive policy decisions impacting Manatee Bay Elementary,” the deputy press secretary Grant Kemp said.

“97% of students at Manatee Bay Elementary have received at least one dose of the MMR immunization. Outbreaks are occurring in multiple states, and the national immunization rate for measles is less than 92%.”

Reporting false information, incidentally, is something Ladapo is familiar with himself. He was found to have personally manipulated data in a 2022 study of Covid-19 vaccines to wrongly assert they posed an elevated risk of cardiac illness or death in young men.

To Speth, and numerous other medical experts , Ladapo’s risky succession of positions denying even the most obvious benefits of immunization and vaccination is a symptom of a wider political assault by the right wing, which carries deadly potential.

Its origins, Speth believes, lie in a long-discredited study by the disgraced British former doctor Andrew Wakefield falsely tying the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine to autism, but which was enthusiastically embraced by anti-vaxxers and other extremists in the US.

“The Wakefield study was a gross fraud, yet today up to 25% of our population believes it, and opportunistic politicians seize on the sentiment to tell people what they want to hear about the danger of vaccines,” he said.

“Republicans are at war with medical science, and that’s a horrible tragedy. But I feel like Cassandra, talking about the public health threat. We’re going to start seeing a lot more children die of infectious diseases that could be prevented if they were vaccinated.”

Ladapo has been hailed a “superstar” by DeSantis, who sidelined then dumped his predecessor, Scott Rivkees, for contradicting the governor’s position on social distancing and face masks during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ladapo became a vocal cheerleader of the governor’s anti-mask, vaccine and lockdown decrees; and was a prominent member of Frontline Doctors of America, a fringe cluster of radical physicians that pushed ineffective medicines such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine as a cure for the virus.

The group’s founder, Simone Gold, received a 60-day prison sentence in 2022 for taking part in the 6 January Capitol riot.

Additionally, Ladapo was a signatory to the Great Barrington Declaration, an open letter claimed to have been signed by 15,000 scientists and medical professionals calling for a herd immunity approach to Covid, but which included a multitude of spoof names including Dr Johnny Bananas, Dr Person Fakename and Dr I P Freely.

Democrats in Florida say Ladapo’s handling of the measles outbreak is one more reason why they believe he is unsuited for a job in which he earns in excess of $600,000 a year, paid almost equally by the state and University of Florida, where he was given tenured professorship as an incentive to come.

“What’s so sad about it is it’s completely preventable,” said state senator Tina Polsky, who has been one of Ladapo’s staunchest critics.

“In a moment of crisis we need the best level-headed people to be running that department of health, and now we’re in our next crisis after Covid and we have someone who doesn’t want to follow accepted scientific guidelines in charge.

“To pretend that the vaccine is unnecessary to eradicate measles is completely illogical, because that’s the reason it’s been gone from our country. It will have some devastating outcomes, it’s going to scare a lot of people, and kids are going to be out of school, which has its own negative outcomes.”

Want to drive on the beach this spring break? Here are the Florida beaches where you can

Spring break has already begun for some Florida students, and it’s right around the corner for the rest. Throughout the month of March, Florida’s beaches will be filled with college students and stay-at-home moms looking to get their kids out of the house during their prelude to summer vacation.

If you’re planning to fill a four-wheel-drive with coolers and beach chairs and drive onto a Florida beach to set up camp for a day in the sun, you should know there are few beaches you can actually drive on.

Here’s which Florida beaches you can drive on this spring break and when spring break is for Florida colleges, universities and school districts.

What Florida beaches can you drive on for spring break?

There aren’t many beaches you can drive on in Florida, but there are a few. And for all of them, you have to pay for a pass to drive on the sand.

According to the FWC, “Operating vehicles, including ATVs, on the beach can destroy wildlife habitat and be harmful or fatal to wildlife. This is one reason that, in many areas, beach-driving is strictly prohibited year-round to all but authorized personnel.”

Driving on the beach can put sea turtle and sea bird nests in danger, so it’s important to only drive on beaches where it’s allowed.

Driving has been common in Volusia and St. Johns counties. There are also a couple of places where you can drive on the beach in Duval and Nassau counties.

‘You are going to pay the price:’ DeSantis sends more cops to Florida spring break hot spots. Here’s where

Volusia beaches where you can drive on the sand

  • Harvard Drive – Ormond Beach
  • University Boulevard – Daytona Beach
  • Seabreeze Boulevard – Daytona Beach
  • International Speedway Boulevard – Daytona Beach
  • Silver Beach Avenue – Daytona Beach
  • Van Avenue – Daytona Beach Shores
  • Dunlawton Boulevard – Daytona Beach Shores
  • Beach Street – Ponce Inlet
  • Beachway Avenue – New Smyrna Beach
  • Crawford Road – New Smyrna Beach
  • Flagler Avenue – New Smyrna Beach
  • Third Avenue – New Smyrna Beach
  • 27th Avenue – New Smyrna Beach

For more information on how to plan driving on the beach in Volusia county, read here.

St. John’s County and Jacksonville areas where you can drive on the beach

  • Vilano (temporarily closed)
  • Porpoise Point
  • Ocean Trace Road
  • Dondanville Road
  • Matanzas Avenue
  • Mary Street
  • Crescent Beach (Cubbedge Road)

According to St. John’s County’s website , “Vehicular access is dependent on beach conditions — weather, sand, or tides may cause ramps to temporarily close or limit access to 4 Wheel Drive vehicles. Daily driving conditions are posted to our Facebook and X accounts (follow SJC Beaches) and in the Reach the Beach Mobile App .”

In Duval County, you can drive on the beach only at Huguenot Memorial Park.

“You can drive and park directly on the beach but please be mindful of the tide and sections that are closed for shorebird nesting,” Timucuan Parks’ website says .

There are also places to drive on the beach in Nassau County.

According to Amelia Island’s website, “Vehicles are permitted and driving on the beach is allowed with a permit at Burney Beach Park, Scott Road and Peter's Point. Out-of-County residents shall obtain a permit to drive or park on the beach. No permit is required if you are a Nassau County resident. Click here for locations where permits can be purchased. ”

Your Florida Daily: 13 arrested in fatal 2023 drive-by shooting, 1st confirmed case of measles reaches Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Thirteen people have been arrested more than a year after six people were shot along a road in Seminole County, leaving an innocent woman dead.

It was January of last year when shots were fired at Rinehart Road and County Road 46A not long after the victims left a concert at The Barn in Sanford.

Sheriff Dennis Lemma believes the performer, rapper Jackboy, was the target and was in another nearby car at the time of the shooting.

“We found that the likely motive for the incident stemmed from a very public, high-profile dispute playing out on social media and on the court system involving Jackboy and a known associate of the shooters, another rap artist Bill Kapri, known by the stage name Kodak Black,” Sheriff Lemma said during a news conference.

One more suspect remains on the run.

Lemma says there’s no evidence Kodak Black was involved in the shooting, adding it was likely connected to gang violence.

Measles case reported in Polk County, 9th in Florida

The first confirmed case of measles has now reached Central Florida.

The Department of Health says the highly contagious and potentially deadly virus was contracted by someone in Polk County.

The travel-related case was reported between Feb. 19 and Feb. 25 by a man in his early 20s.

It’s the first adult infected this year in the state and follows an outbreak in South Florida.

Measles has been spreading through Manatee Bay Elementary in Broward County.

The school confirmed eight cases, all involving children.

“We’re doing everything possible here at the school with cleaning, changing air filters, keeping parents involved as much as possible,” Broward County Schools Superintendent Peter Licata said.

In a letter sent to parents, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo said it was “normally recommended” for people exposed to the virus who aren’t vaccinated to stay home up to 21 days.

Ultimately, he said the decision about sending kids to school lies with parents.

During the 2021-22 school year, 91.7% of Florida kindergarten students were vaccinated for measles falling short of the 95% for herd immunity.

So far, the CDC reports there have been 35 cases of measles across 15 states.

Increase in pelican injuries along Florida coast prompts investigation

There has been an “abnormal” increase in injuries among pelicans along Florida’s east coast, according to one nonprofit that is now working to find the cause of these injuries.

The Florida Wildlife Hospital posted to Facebook this week asking for the public to lookout for any injured or deceased pelicans along the coastal counties.

Dr. April Geer, a veterinarian for the hospital, said most of the injuries that they’ve been seeing coming in have all been very bad fractured wings.

She’s seen more than 20 cases in a week, which sparked an investigation with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Investigators say it’s too early to tell what’s causing the injuries but speculate that the pelicans could have been hit by boats offshore or by cars.

Random Florida Fact

In the early 1940s, Zephyrhills Army Airfield served as a training ground for hundreds of Army pilots during World War II.

When the airfield was built in 1942, Zephyrhills was home to some 800 people.

Over the course of the war, the population doubled as Army pilots came to the small town to train in air defense tactics.

The Army’s 10th Fighter Squadron were stationed here which later supported Allied ground forces during the invasion of Normandy.

You can check out the Zephyrhills Museum of Military History to see period weaponry, military uniforms, wartime supplies and archival photographs.
