Don’t think Benidorm, think old Spanish shops, restaurants, and a beautiful sea front. Loads to see, and old a few minutes from, yes, you guessed it all sini g all dancing Benidorm

Most helpful in the office and in the street, the lady pulled out all the stops to get me on the trip the next morning. By arrangement I picked up the coach on its last pick up before heading out of Benidorm, that really suited me. They kept me Informed by phone of a slight delay, only 15 mins. The coach guide was very good indeed and gave lots of extra information to all. I will use them again in August 18 and happy to recommend.

Went on a free blanket trip as I couldn't get booked in my 4 nights there with my rep. Had a 1 hour presentation about a British firm making mattresses etc. That wasn't a hardship at all, it was kept light hearted, fun with no hard sell. Travelled on to Quadalest a short coach trip and so glad I did. It is amazing up in the hills, it was great to have a ice cream over looking the BLUE LAKE. It was wonderful to explore the village, also great to walk to the very top. The photos are Breath taking. The villagers themselves were all very welcoming and helpful. It was one of the best trips I've been on in a lot of travelling.

This is just a hole in the size of a mountain with little to no information about this history or geology If one compares this to Kents Cavern which knows how to present this sort of thing. The gift shop is not very good and I found the range of wooden dildos not at all appropriate. You leave the place wondering why you take the effort to get there.

Certainly, the trip I took with them was not at all expensive. But one does wonder about the subject matter. We were dropped on in this town and then follow the guide along a series of twisting and turning streets with little to no regard as to how one gets back. I ended this trip wondering why I bothered. The bus was too big to go around the town roundabouts and I was fed up after all of the twistings and turning as the driver struggled. We got of at the end worn out and vowed never to do this again They need to ask themselves is it necessary to visit these other places?

We went to a trip to Guadalest and Algar waterfalls last week and it was lovely. Well organized and the staff very helpful and Katie the tour guide was very kind. We would appreciate more time in both places as there was a lot to see and explore.

Great experience

Great trip. Visited the shop opposite the Ambassador hotel the rep (dark haired woman) helped organise our trips and gave recommendations based on what we liked. The chocolate shop was great, not something really for older people. Our tour guide Nicola was lovely and really informative. Would recommend

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. We are really pleased you had a good day out with us. Please come back and see us again soon.

thanks so much to lisa at roundtown travel who booked our tickets for the benidorm palace to see the manfreds. everything went smoothly and the seats were brilliant. i've used roundtown in the past and always found them knowledgable and helpful. thanks so much to everyone there.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. Please come back and see us again soon

Amazing Tour from start to finish .. Would highly recommend this company . With speedy response to any questions through emails .. Our tour guide Kathy done her job to perfection .. Also like to thank the bus driver J'avea 😊.. If you want to enjoy a beautiful day trip Guadalest it is just spectacular would highly recommend !! Veronica McAssey !!

Living in Albir, I fully expected we would be the last pick up on our "Coast & Caves" day trip with the first stop being "Benisa " a 45min journey from Albir. Confusingly??? we were the first pick up at 9.45am. 1hour 50mins later, after travelling around the back streets of Benidorm, before taking the motorway for 5mins, we found ourselves in "Altea" 5km from where I live!!! Surely it makes much more sense to pick up last, the people whom are closest to the destination??? Or at least inform people of Albir before they book, that their journey will involve a 2 hour trip around Benidorm, before travelling to their destination.

Thank you for your comments. Our buses start in Albir because that is where our office and guide base is. It has nothing to do with our excursion destination or our route. We offer an exceptional service giving numerous convenient pickup points in one of the largest holiday resorts in Europe. All of our pickup points and times are clearly listed, so anyone making a reservation can easily see that the Albir Garden Resort is an hour prior to the pickup time at the hotel Gran Bali for example. The routing of our buses works in perfect harmony with the one-way system that the majority of Benidorm is affected by and logistically makes more sense than any other route. We would like to think that our customers are able to enjoy the journey to the destination from the moment they step on one of our excursions and naturally there will be some that are on the bus longer than others.

I booked A Hotel with them with morning Breakfast the cost was not Cheep, but we I say we as was in a party of six, who was booked in to the Worst Hotel in Benidorm it was called the ( MELIA 4 STAR HOTEL BENIDORM ) more like a 2 star with unpleasant hotel staff. the food and the rooms wear very unpleasant and dirty. the staff wear terrible to deal with and behaviour was bad, I did go to Round Town Travel to mention my complaint along with at least ten other gusts and was told that my grievance was being made by them at Round Town Travel by way of a meeting with the Hotel Melia, and its staff. and the promised to let me know what the out come was of that meeting they had. been back two weeks now and still waiting. Come on Round Town Travel YOU got your Elvis WRISTBANDS Back that I never used in that hotel event. or the place tickets. we let you keep the money at least let us know what the out come of the atrocious holiday we have ever had .

Amazing day trip- very well organised with lots of options. Had a fab guided tour with Sergio and learnt a lot about the history of Valencia. Caught a taxi in the afternoon to the oceanographic area and met the bus there to go home. Had a lovely day discovering the old and new parts of the city- highly recommend it. Kathy the guide was very helpful too.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. Valencia is a fantastic city with so much to see and do, we hope that you will join us again in the future so that you can discover a little more.

ESSENTIAL Albir Tourist Guide: BEST Things to Do & See

Table of Contents

Albir is a small beach resort sandwiched between Altea and Benidorm on the northern Costa Blanca in Spain.

Albir is very close to Alfaz del Pi which is just slightly inland on the other side of the N-322 which divides the two areas. Albir is also referred to as El Albir or L’Albir.

Albir is situated midway between two international airports, to the south there is Alicante International airport and to the north there is Valencia international airport.

This excellent video below shows video images of Albir featuring the beach and the town’s most important tourist attractions.

Once at the airport you have a range of different airport transfer options to Albir including private shuttle buses, taxis or  car rental .

Albir Beaches

Albir has a Mediterranean climate which means hot summers with mild winters and very little rain. Albir is blessed with over 300 days of sunshine a year making it an ideal holiday destination pretty much all year round.

Albir is an easy drive from three international airports of Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. If you are planning a trip to Albir and you want to see what the weather might be like at the time you’re planning to visit, you may wish to see our dedicated weather page .

Albir’s main beach is called “Playa de Racó de l’Albir” and is six hundred meters in length and has magnificent views of the Penon de Ifach in Calpe. Parking can be tricky in the summer months so be sure to arrive early.

During the holiday season there are always life-guards on duty as is the case in all the beach resorts on the Costa Blanca. The blue flag beach also has two play areas on the beach for the children. Toilets are located on the boulevard.

The main promenade is called, “Paseo de las Estrellas” (Stars Promenade). Albir holds an annual national film festival every July. The town has imitated Hollywood by laying stones along the promenade and dedicating them to national film stars.

Albir restaurants which come highly recommended include the Sarita Indian Restaurant, Le Boulevard, Mastroianni Ristorante Italiano, Coco Loco Beach Albir S.L., Restaurante Casa Juan-El Albir, Shamadi, Restaurante Classica Gourmet, Bacchus, Restaurant Biblos, Leonardo, La Riviera, Pato Pekin, Bar Bistro Iguana, Tutti Frutti, Quanti, Venezia and Sharky’s.

Moving to Albir

If you are thinking of moving to Albir, then you must read our expat interview with Nigel Hellicar of Costa Blanca Properties, Villas-Albir below:

Nigel, what would you say would be the advantages to living in Albir compared to other Costa Blanca towns?

The key advantage to living in Albir is that you have most things on hand: Good bars and restaurants; 5 main supermarkets; Multi cultural; Good transport links; And for that mad night out – only 5 minutes from Benidorm.

Would the area not suit certain types of people, i.e. are there any possible downsides?

Albir appeals to all age groups. Because of its proximity to Benidorm, young families are attracted to Albir with nearby Benidorm offering Theme Parks, water parks, discotheques and family entertainment for the younger generation and plentiful bars and restaurants and quality hotels for the more mature traveler/resident.

What proportion of the local population are Spanish?

What are your favourite things to do in the area?

Golf (driving range in Albir) + 2 x 18 hole courses in Benidorm; Promenading along the seafront (You can walk from Altea to Albir); Eating out

Faro_de_l'Albir

Can you give us some insider tips to the best bars or restaurants?

Whatever your fancy, Albir can deliver.

Saritas – Indian cuisine The Banana tree – Asian cuisine Chiringuito – BBQ food with a real Spanish atmosphere Country Ribs – on the seafront, great for families Mastroianni – Italian restaurant

Are there many facilities such as doctors and dentists, shops etc?

Yes. As well as the state health centre there are also English/Dutch and Norwegian practices `min 4 International dentists.

Are there smaller villages nearby that you might also recommend?

Altea – old fishing port with a blue domed church at the top of the town

What are the nearest international schools and how good are they?

Elians – 20 minutes (La Nucia) O level syllabus

Is crime an issue for expats?

Very limited in this area – tends to be pickpockets etc at local markets

playing_with_the_sun

Coming onto buying property, what is the market like now in terms of prices going up, or down or staying the same?

After the crisis (if it’s finished), the property market started to improve slightly (0.4 percent) compared with the previous year. Now with Brexit it is difficult to say. It will depend on the strength/weakness of sterling against the euro and the terms that are negotiated for expats living in spain and how the impact of the UK leaving the European market will affect the spending power of other Europeans.

Is this a good time to buy and are there any repossessions or very cheap properties still available to buy?

Banks still have a lot of stock, Brexit is a double edged sword. Current property owners who want to return to the UK are benefitting from the weakness of sterling and therefore able to reduce the price of their property. Still some good bargains to be had!

How much are typical property prices in Albir for apartments, villas etc?

As always, location is king. Typical 2-bed apartment, 80m2: 180,000 to 200,000 euros, close to amenities. Townhouses: 3-bed – anything from 170,000 to 250,000 euros. Villas: Minimum of 300,000 euros and up.

Any tips and advice to people looking to buy in Albir or surrounding area?

Register with a good agent and be prepared to act quickly. It is unlikely that you will find something immediately and may have to be patient to find the perfect home. Always expect to pay more to be nearer the town/beach/amenities. You can but less expensively go “up the hill;” going down the hill is ok but walking back up if you don’t have transport can be “challenging!”
