LIV Golf League To Stream Live Coverage On YouTube
Fans will be able to stream the action on the platform, although some markets will command a daily fee

After LIV Golf failed to secure a TV deal for its inaugural season in 2022, its tournaments were broadcast free on YouTube. It has now been announced that the remaining events in the current League season will also be broadcast on the platform, albeit with a significant difference in some markets.
Starting with the LIV Golf DC tournament, viewers will be able to watch the action on YouTube in the US, Canada, Mexico and South Korea for $3 per day. Meanwhile, in the UK, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Japan, fans will be able to stream the tournaments free of charge on the platform.
The reason why it is necessary to pay in some countries and not others is because in the markets where payment is needed, LIV has broadcast deals and paywalls ensure those contracts are protected.
In January, LIV Golf announced a multi-year TV deal with The CW Network ensuring live coverage of the action on Saturdays and Sundays on both TV and on CW Network app in the US, with coverage on Friday available only through the app.
That arrangement is unaffected by the move, while fans will still be able to watch the action through the LIV Golf Plus app.
LIV Golf's Chief Media Officer Will Staeger explained coverage is returning the YouTube to reach as many fans as possible. He said: “Expanding the availability of LIV Golf’s live coverage on YouTube marks another milestone in the innovative ways in which we are making our groundbreaking competition available to viewers.
"LIV Golf is a global league comprised of some of the game’s biggest stars, and this supports our goal of bringing the sport we love to more people in more places around the world.”

There have been teething problems with The CW Network’s broadcasting of LIV Golf events, notably during the most recent in Tulsa, where the US station pulled coverage before its thrilling finale , which saw Dustin Johnson secure victory over Cameron Smith and Branden Grace in a playoff.
The CW Network has since vowed to avoid a repeat of that gaffe . Meanwhile, it has also been reported that LIV Golf has stopped releasing viewing figures of its tournaments via the broadcaster.
This week's tournament at Washington DC's Trump National Golf Club sees PGA Champion Brooks Koepka in action as he looks for his third win on the circuit. Following that, the action moves on to Valderrama in Spain at the end of June.

How to watch the first LIV Golf event in London from the US this week
- The Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series will host its first event this week.
- While LIV Golf has yet to secure a broadcast partner, fans can follow the action online.
- Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson headline the field for the league's inaugural tournament.
The Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series will finally host its first event this week at the Centurion Club just outside of London.
A field of 48 players, headlined by Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson , will battle for one of the richest purses in the history of golf. The event has adopted a team format with the 12 captains taking part in a draft, which took place earlier in the week .

The competition tees off on Thursday with a shotgun start, kicking off three rounds of action at 9 a.m. ET.
While the first LIV Golf event won't be shown on television in the US, fans hoping to check out the tournament can do so on YouTube , Facebook, or through LIVGolf.com , according to the site .
Leading the broadcast team for the new league will be commentator Arlo White, who American fans might know from his years as one of the voices of the English Premier League. Former Golf Channel commentator Jerry Foltz will serve as an analyst, and Asian Tour broadcaster Dom Boulet is set to fill-out the three-man booth.
In addition to Mickelson and Johnson, former PGA Tour pros, including Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Talor Gooch, Lee Westwood, Kevin Na, and Louis Oosthuizen, will be competing for the $25 million event purse. The winner's share is set for $4 million. By contrast, the champion of the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open, also teeing off Thursday, will earn around $1.3 million, and the winners of the last two majors — Scottie Scheffler, at the Masters, and Justin Thomas, at the PGA Championship — earned $2.7 mi lion for their victories.
Meanwhile, since LIV Golf doesn't feature a cut after two rounds, the player who finishes dead last is still set to walk away from the event pocketing $120,000. At last week's Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour, players needed to finish tied for 18th to make that kind of money.

Viraj Madappa (IND), Kevin Yuan (AUS), Travis Smyth (AUS), Ian Snyman (South Africa) and Thailand’s Itthipat Buranatanyarat will all be teeing it up at Centurion having qualified from the cumulative International Series Order of Merit .
With 47 players now confirmed, one place remains to be announced to complete the field.

What a potential PGA Tour-LIV Golf merger might look like, according to sports history
One of the complexities of the potential link-up between the PGA Tour and LIV is what the basic mechanics of playing "together" would look like. Will players who went to LIV be welcomed back to PGA Tour events? Will the two leagues both exist as separate parts of the schedule?
Several top PGA Tour players have expressed open skepticism about LIV players getting a free run back. “There should be a pathway back for them, but they definitely shouldn’t be able to come back without any sort of contribution to the tour, if that makes sense,” said Scottie Scheffler in February. Justin Thomas has taken the same stance: “I’m not in agreement that you should be able to come back that easily. There’s a lot of us that made sacrifices and were true to our word and didn’t make that decision," he said. "I understand that things are changing and getting better, but I’d have a hard time with that, and I think a lot of guys would have a hard time with that."
On the other side, players like Dustin Johnson have pointed out that trying to claw back the money they received for joining LIV would just amount to sour grapes from players who wished they had made a better deal. "We're the ones who took the risk for everything," Johnson said. "Why shouldn't we be compensated?"
This isn't the first time competing sports leagues have battled it out, and it certainly isn't the first time sabers have been rattled by players, owners and league executives during those fights. Even though team sports and franchise ownership are different animals than the individual nature of the PGA Tour, the coming-together stories from those other leagues can be instructive about what we might see when—and if—golf mends its fences.
NFL-AFL (1970)
For a decade, the established NFL and upstart AFL waged a high-dollar war for free-agent talent. Where the NFL had legacy and media attention on its side, the AFL's collection of owners had deeper pockets (sound familiar?) and the willingness to wait out losses to disrupt the NFL's leadership position. The NFL realized it wasn't going to spend the AFL out of existence, so it came to the table to make a deal. By 1966, the sides had agreed to the framework for an eventual merger, and the first championship game between the two leagues that year was played in 1967—the Super Bowl. By 1970, the AFL teams became part of the NFL as the AFC, and those owners agreed to pay the NFL $18 million over 20 years. Importantly, the NFL elected to recognize AFL statistics as part of the NFL retroactively, bringing the two leagues into true unison.
More From Golf Digest
NBA-ABA (1976)
Some of the battles between the NBA and fledgling ABA took the same tone as the NFL-AFL clash. ABA teams signed top players like Julius Erving and Artis Gilmore, and competed directly in big markets like New York City. But the NBA was much more fragile financially than the NFL and made a deal with the ABA to stop the bleeding and capitalize on the excitement the ABA's rule and marketing innovations had generated. The NBA agreed to accept four of the six ABA teams—the New York Nets (which became New Jersey and eventually moved to Brooklyn), Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs. The two remaining ABA teams folded in exchange for buyouts from the four teams making the jump to the NBA. The Kentucky Colonels received a flat $3 million, and the St. Louis ownership group negotiated a shrewd exit deal that paid them a sliver of the surviving teams' television revenue in perpetuity. That deal was eventually bought out for $500 million in 2014—more than the entire value of the combined NBA and ABA when the deal was consummated in 1976. Players' legacy didn't get treated quite as generously in the transition. The NBA doesn’t recognize ABA records, which means Dr. J's 11,662 ABA points don't count toward a career total that would put him in the top 10 all-time if they were combined.
NHL-WHA (1979)
Bruce Bennett
Hockey’s “merger” was perhaps the most brutal. The WHA made a lot of noise signing aging stars like Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull to huge contracts and bringing along young stars like Wayne Gretzky. When the leagues came together in 1979, it was only because the WHA “died” and four of its strongest teams—Gretzky’s Edmonton Oilers and the Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques and Winnipeg Jets—became new expansion teams in the NHL. The original NHL teams even got to take back the players for whom they retained rights without compensating the “new” teams. Like the ABA, WHA records don’t count toward a player’s NHL totals, which means Gordie Howe lost out on the 508 points he scored for the Whalers, and Gretzky doesn’t have the 110 points he scored for the Oilers and Indianapolis Racers added to his career log.
Perhaps two of the most similar analogs to the PGA Tour-LIV dispute are the most obscure for American golf fans. In the mid-1990s, Rupert Murdoch was still an Australia-based media baron, and he was interested in getting a piece of that country's broadcast rights for top-level rugby. Murdoch's News Corporation backed the launch of a competing super league to go up against the established Australian Rugby League and drew a collection of teams disenchanted with how the sport was being run and promoted. After years of court battles—and a single year in which the two leagues competed head to head—they agreed to merge into the National Rugby League. Murdoch would end up with a controlling interest in the broadcasting rights for the sport by the mid-2000s.
Then there's tennis, in which a true professional game has only existed since 1968, when pros were finally able to compete in the four majors. When Jimmy Connors and Evonne Goolagong committed to World Team Tennis in 1974—a new entity with franchises spread across American cities—it caused a disorienting rift in the sport. Connors and Goolagong had each won the first major of the year in Australia, but because they would miss certain European events to play for their teams, they were banned from the French Open. Connors would go on to win Wimbledon and the U.S. Open later in the summer, earning a sort of slam Brooks Koepka would probably appreciate. Connors didn’t play in the French Open from 1974 to 1978—when he was at the height of his career. Chris Evert, John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg all played team tennis, which ultimately made it impractical for majors to hold the line and exclude the world's best.

A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.
With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the tournament. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.
Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming the Houston Open 2024 using a VPN
- With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming may vary.
- If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
- If you're having trouble getting the tournament after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
- All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
- And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave .

2024 March Madness TV schedule: How to watch NCAA Tournament, Elite Eight live stream, tip times, announcers
The complete television and streaming schedule for how to watch march madness 2024.
The 2024 NCAA Tournament is officially down to an Elite Eight. We have already seen plenty of dominant victories, shocking upsets and shining moments from this edition of March Madness, and there's four more games to go before we hit the Final Four. The top eight teams in the nation entering March Madness were all still alive in the Sweet 16 for just the fifth time since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, but only three of those teams remain.
On Thursday, No. 1 seed UConn blew out No. 5 seed San Diego State, marking its ninth straight double-digit March Madness win. On Friday, No. 1 seed Purdue dominated in the second half to win 80-68 over No. 5 seed Gonzaga, while No. 2 seed Tennessee pulled away in the final minutes to win over No. 3 seed Creighton.
Saturday's games be played on TBS with the action continuing Sunday on CBS.
Once we get to the Final Four, you will notice veteran Ian Eagle stepping in as the lead play-by-play announcer, replacing the legendary Jim Nantz, who stepped away in 2023. Eagle will be alongside mainstays Bill Raftery, Grant Hill and reporter Tracy Wolfson on the top announcing team. A longtime staple of NCAA Tournament coverage, Eagle was not alone as someone stepping into a new role on the team. Former Purdue star Robbie Hummel called his first NCAA Tournament broadcast during the first week.
CBS and TBS are leading the way televising 21 games apiece during the NCAA Tournament, while truTV and TNT carried 13 and 12, respectively. The Final Four will simulcast across TBS and TNT. In addition to the March Madness Live app , where you can watch every game, Paramount+ subscribers will be able to watch all the games televised by CBS, while subscribers to Max's B/R Sports Add-On can catch the remainder of the games.
From the Selection Show all the way until the playing of "One Shining Moment" after a champion is crowned, CBS Sports and TNT Sports will be bringing you the magic.
Let's take a look at the 2024 March Madness announcing teams as well as the remaining schedule for the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
