The food was very good with a lot of fruit and salads. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food plating was beautiful with a lot of deserts .

This is a western-style hotel restaurant. It offers breakfast in buffet style for hotel guests as well as for drop-ins. It has western dishes such as sausages, eggs, bacon, bakeries, as well as Asian food such as rice, noodles made-to-order. It is spacious such that... you can bring your own baby strollers. It is accessible: the hotel has elevator to take you to the second floor (where the restaurant is located). Staff is able to communicate in simple English. More

During my 8-night stay at the Tmark Grand Hotel Myeongdong, I had all my breakfasts and four of my dinners at the Tour de Gourmet Restaurant which is located on the second floor of the hotel. I was very satisfied with the quality and variety... of the dishes. Both Asian and Western dishes were available along with some featured international dishes. Service was friendly and efficient. Be aware on days when there are large tour groups staying at the hotel, there were line-ups for breakfast but the wait time wasn’t too long. More

Occupying a former bar cellar, Skua is now a refined dining destination led by talented young chef Tomás Gormley (who is also co-founder of Michelin-starred Edinburgh restaurant Heron, see below). Despite its modest kitchen size, the restaurant’s menu packs a punch, offering concise yet dynamic dishes that, celebrate seasonal produce with verve and devoid of unnecessary embellishments. The BBQ Leek with Hazelnut Mole and Walnut Ketchup or the Grilled Sea Bass with Kale and Sea Leek are certainly worth a try.

The wine list features an array of natural pairings, with weekly specials showcased on a modest black chalkboard. The cocktails? Pure chocolate walk A two hour walking tour for tasting the best chocolate in the world. AAV will introduce you to five of Paris’s best chocolatiers, each with his own signature style.  While learning the history of the cocoa bean and how chocolate arrived in France, you will sample a wide range of creations, from savory chocolate to unusual ingredient combinations which magically create taste explosions.

Culinary Lyon The 3rd largest city in France with over 2,000 years of history has a long culinary tradition.  Discover Lyon through its colorful food markets:  les halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, the marché Saint-Antoine, or the marché de la Croix Rousse.  Afterwards, you will lunch at an authentic bouchon Lyonnais , a restaurant serving traditional regional fare.  A wonderful experience for food lovers!

Normandy cheese Normandy’s cheeses are world famous:  Camembert, Pont l’Evêque, Livarot, Neufchâtel, Brillat-Savarin.  The rich pastures in this region are the secret ingredient, providing locally produced milk for use in these locally produced cheeses. Your AAV expert guide will take you to visit local producers to see firsthand how the cheeses are produced and to sample them.

Seafood adventure in Brittany Every morning, when the fishermen come back to port, there is a criée , a live auction of the day’s catch.  Experience the criée with a top restaurant chef who will then welcome you into his kitchen to teach you how to prepare the fish or seafood that you just bought, and share it with you for lunch.

Table etiquette In France, everything important happens at the table, which is why it is vital to know the customs.  Thanks to AAV, you will meet a Parisian aristocrat who will teach you French etiquette as well as the history of French cuisine. You will then practice at a private candlelit dinner in a historic family chateau.

Discover the wealth of French cuisine  with AAV

Although you’ll find a steak-frites or a soupe à l’oignon pretty much anywhere in France, French cuisine is very different from one region to another. Crêpes originated in Brittany.  Gratin daupinois was created in the Savoy region, where winters are cold and heavier dishes are comforting.  Choucroute , French sauerkraut, is from Alsace, which changed hands several times, from France to Germany and back again. The French Riviera has its petits farcis , little stuffed zucchini, eggplant, tomato and onion boats.  And boeuf bourguignon is from the Burgundy region, where good red wines are plentiful, so necessary for making the delicious sauce.

In the south, the olive is king.  Tapenade , an olive purée, is served on bread with cocktails. Vegetables are sautéed in olive oil (think ratatouille ) and seasoned with herbs such as thyme, oregano and savory, indigenous plants to the Provençal garrigue .   In the north, recipes are based on butter.  And cream, which adds a richness and unctuousness not found further south. No matter where you go in France, you will find local specialties with a rich heritage.  What better way to get to know this beautiful country?

This is a western-style hotel restaurant. It offers breakfast in buffet style for hotel guests as well as for drop-ins. It has western dishes such as sausages, eggs, bacon, bakeries, as well as Asian food such as rice, noodles made-to-order. It is spacious such that... you can bring your own baby strollers. It is accessible: the hotel has elevator to take you to the second floor (where the restaurant is located). Staff is able to communicate in simple English. More

During my 8-night stay at the Tmark Grand Hotel Myeongdong, I had all my breakfasts and four of my dinners at the Tour de Gourmet Restaurant which is located on the second floor of the hotel. I was very satisfied with the quality and variety... of the dishes. Both Asian and Western dishes were available along with some featured international dishes. Service was friendly and efficient. Be aware on days when there are large tour groups staying at the hotel, there were line-ups for breakfast but the wait time wasn’t too long. More

Come hungry! We will be eating throughout the tour, tasting sizes not full portions, but still quite a lot! Especially if you have taken the option with lunch.

Yes please let us know in advance by filling out the special requirements field when you book, and also please remind your guide at the start of the tour so they can be sure to accommodate you throughout.

What is the legal drinking age in France?

The legal drinking age is 18.

What if I need to cancel my tour?

You can cancel your private tour for any reason up to 72 hours before your tour departure time and receive a full refund. Within 72 hours we’ve already started preparing for your tour and your guide won't easily be able to find another tour to replace it, so we won’t be able to offer a refund after that point.

Notre histoire

Nous démarrons notre activité en juin 2021 avec un objectif en tête : offrir une expérience gastronomique agréable et conviviale. En vous rendant dans notre restaurant vous serez accueillis chaleureusement et vous pourrez déguster une cuisine traditionnelle, de terroir, faite avec des produits frais et de saison.

Nous possédons une terrasse ombragée dans la cour intérieur du restaurant pouvant accueillir 35 à 50 personnes et une salle en intérieur pouvant accueillir elle aussi de 35 à 50 personnes

Horaires été ( juin à septembre), du mardi au samedi midi et soir et dimanche midi., horaire hiver, du mardi au dimanche le midi  , vendredi et samedi soir , le mardi, mercredi et jeudi soir sur réservation à partir d'une table de 10 personnes (avant 14h) , fermé le lundi toute la journée.

Le restaurant peut aussi accueillir des groupes de 55 personnes maximum et ou des  séminaires (repas et réunion) de 25 personnes maximum

Our Tour de France Dinner Extraordinaire will be held in our lovely and graciously distanced Garden Room this evening, overlooking our grounds and gardens. After a reception of Brut from the Loire, your French Dinner Experience begins with two of France’s best white wines – the extraordinarily rare Bouzeron from Burgundy, and a Grand Cru Pinot Gris from Alsace’s most acclaimed producer. For the main course, compare two of France’s favorite reds – a Premier Cru Burgundy (the pinnacle of Pinot Noir), and Chateauneuf du Pape, the savory, complex red of the Southern Rhone. Finish our French Tour with a delectable Dessert from Chef Pascal, served with incomparable “Nocturne” from Champagne Taittinger. Bon appetit and see you there. No need for your passports!

Simon Kessler Cycling with mountains in background

Simon Kessler  – Simon went on to race as a professional for 6 years with some of the world best and won two professional national road championship titles. Moving into a coaching career (Simon Says Cycling) Simon has had the pleasure of coaching all levels of cyclists from top pros to weekend warriors. One of his former clients and good friend Daryl Impey, was the first South African to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France.

Simon’s French and German parents has resulted in him living and traveling to Europe and the Tour de France extensively since the 1990s. In 2007, Simon made the decision to bring his love of travel and the Tour de France to his fellow cyclists and active travel enthusiasts. Voila Gourmet Cycling Travel!

Jonathan Chiri  – Chef Jonathan began his career in the early 1990’s in California, notably at The San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito and Restaurant Catahoula in Napa Valley. Moving north to Seattle he was given his first opportunity to run a kitchen as Sous-Chef at the renowned vegetarian restaurant Carmelita. Then it was down to the south and a few years spent in New Orleans as part of the opening team at Restaurants Cuvee, Stella and August. From there, he first set foot in Europe and quickly fell in love with its foods and cultures. He began with a stint at the Romantik Hotel Spielweg in the Black Forest of Germany, followed by a short “stages” in Berlin and Barcelona.

Next it was on to France and the sunshine of Provençe. He spent 4 years at the famed 1 Michelin starred La Mirande in Avignon, eventually becoming Pastry Chef of their gourmet restaurant and the Chef of their cooking school, La Marmiton. Here he developed a harmonious relationship with the hotel and continues to participate in their program of cooking classes.

Jean Michel Porzyk

Everybody loves Jean Michel our French guide from the Provence region of France at the footsteps of the Mont Ventoux. Jean Michel is known for his fun loving nature and taking great care of cyclists on the rides where he often shepherds in the last few riders safely home. Jean Michel has worked for Gourmet Cycling Travel for over 6 years and is a regular on every tour.

Gary Stern

Gary started as a guest and loved the trip so much he became a guide for us. That was back in 2010 and he has since been a regular feature on both our Tour de France and Giro d’Italia trips. Gary’s high energy, fun nature results in some extra smiles and many laughs during our tours. Gary is a top amateur cyclist himself having won 5 State Florida Masters time trial championships.

Angelo is a former top pro who won two stages in the Vuelta and over 28 pro victories. Angelo was also European BMX champion and is known as one of the most skilled cyclists in the world (think Peter Sagan skill). Angelo now coaches and teaches cyclists on how to improve bike handling skills. Enjoy some tips from a real pro on how to improve your climbing and descending. Angelo is a fun loving gentle soul and our bike ride leader on our Giro d’Italia trips.
