Everything I Ate on my Celebrity Cruise (Photos and Menus) – Food Review

If you are taking a cruise with Celebrity you may be wondering what the food will be like. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are all included at no extra cost on a Celebrity cruise.

I have just disembarked a cruise on the Celebrity Edge, and in this post, we will look at everything I ate in the main dining room, buffet and in some Speciality restaurants. Menus are also provided.

I took my first Celebrity cruise in 2019, and I have always found their food quality to be excellent .

There are Four Main Dining Rooms – All Food In These Restaurants Is Included In Your Cruise Fare

There are four main dining rooms on the Celebrity Edge, all of which have their own theme.

As well as serving the standard selection of food in each restaurant, they have a couple of regional dishes specific to that restaurant’s theme. The themes are French, Italian, Mediterranean and American.

You can book the restaurants via the celebrity App when you wish to have your dinner. It is quick and easy to do.

Normandie Restaurant

  • Normandie Restaurant features contemporary French cuisine as well as the standard Celebrity Cruise ship menu.

Cyprus Restaurant

  • Mediterranean food is served here. The regional dishes on the menu’s main focus is mostly on seafood -but there are plenty of other dishes if you aren’t a fish lover.
  • There are lots of Greek-style salads, and we enjoyed some amazing “Saganaki” (fried cheese, pictured below)

celebrity cruises included dining

Tuscan Restaurant

Italian cuisine inspired by authentic southern Italian eateries is served here. The pastas are all “homemade” and, according to Celebrity are “prepared with a rustic flare.”

celebrity cruises included dining

Cosmopolitan Restaurant

  • This is the only main restaurant I didn’t get to try whilst onboard.
  • Celebrity describe the food as being “Creative cuisine with new American with global influences.”

We never found any of the main restaurants open for lunch, even on sea days. This meant the only included lunch options were to get food from the buffet, or Mast poolside grill.

Oceanview Cafe Buffet

This buffet, found on deck 14, is always open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It offers a wide range of hot and cold dishes, and there is lots of wonderful bread, all made freshly onboard.

There is a daily feature food station. One day when we were there, there was a British Day, serving Fish and Chips, “Bangers and Mash” (Sausages and Mash!) and Guinness and Steak Pies.

On other days there were Indian dishes, Mexican, French – all sorts.

celebrity cruises included dining

The buffet on Celebrity Edge was undoubtedly one of the best I have ever been to .

Tucked away at one end is an ice cream counter, serving a variety of Ice Cream and Sorbets, most of which don’t cost extra.

For some reason, one of the flavours was at an extra charge – and was clearly marked as such. I am not sure why .

As I didn’t have a drinks package, it was lovely to see juices offered at breakfast and other fruit drinks and lemonade offered throughout the day.

As with most other cruise ship buffets, tea coffee and water were available whenever the buffet was open.

celebrity cruises included dining

Mast Poolside Grill

As with most cruise ships, there is a poolside grill serving a variety of burgers, hot dogs, and Chips/Fries.

There is also a self-service cold drinks machine and a soft-serve Ice Cream Machine.

My veggie burger was cooked to order for me at the Mast Grill.

Cafe El Bacio

This cafe serves a wide selection of teas and coffee – at an extra charge. However, all the cookies and cakes here were free! I regularly came by, to see which cookies were available.

Speciality Restaurants That I Tried

I was invited by Celebrity to try the following two speciality restaurants. I did not pay for the cover charge. All opinions are my own.

Rooftop Garden Grill

Open for both lunch and dinner, with a menu described by Celebrity as:

“Gourmet backyard BBQ favourites.” Celebrity Cruises

Our drinks were served in jam jars / Kilner jars with handles – which I thought was an amusing touch!

You can enjoy dinner under the stars at the Roof Top Grill. It is positioned in its own corner of the Rooftop Garden.

The rooftop garden itself was a favourite of mine, with wonderful plants and foliage – and even its own (live) lizard hiding amongst the plants .

The cover charge for the Roof Top Grill is around $65 at the time of writing.

celebrity cruises included dining

Eden Restaurant

Situated at the back of the ship, this restaurant gives you wonderful views of the wake. Celebrity says:

Dinner at Eden Restaurant isn’t just a meal. It’s an extraordinary culinary journey, featuring an open kitchen, innovative dishes, and three levels of design excellence Celebrity Cruises

I must give Celebrity full credit here, the three-level space that makes up Eden is absolutely STUNNING! It is hard to believe that they could design a space like this on a cruise ship at all.

I was totally wowed.

celebrity cruises included dining

There is a cover charge of around $65 per person for the standard menu and around $100 for the seven-course tasting menu.

All of these dishes were on the main menu.

Speciality Dining Eden Restaurant Celebrity Edge

Breakfast at Eden

Eden also has a small cafe that opens for breakfast. Breakfast food is free , but the cafe is only open for a couple of hours, and shuts quite early – I only made breakfast here once.

Most food is cooked to order.

celebrity cruises included dining

Breakfast In the Eden Cafe does not have a cover charge.

Other Speciality Restaurants Onboard That I Didn’t Try – Additional Charges Apply to All.

Fine cut steakhouse.

Celebrity describes this as an “upscale steak and seafood experience where service is elevated to an art form”

The Fine Cut Steakhouse serves a variety of steaks, seafood, and Lobster

Expect to pay a cover charge of around $55 per person – and if you want to add an additional main course, an additional $20 will be added to your bill.

Le Grand Bistro

Le Grand Bistro is Inspired by classic French bistros. Celebrity say

The mouthwatering sights, scents, and sounds of a bustling boulangerie-patisserie are sure to excite and entice. Celebrity Cruises

There is a planter-edged sidewalk and an inner café, giving wonderful views of the sea.

Menus include steak, trout, chicken and wild mushroom tart.

In addition to this, there is a “plats du jour” offered. This is a different set dish for every day of the week – like Coq Au Vin, Lamb Shank Bourguignon to seafood dishes.

Expect to pay a service charge of around $30, slightly less for their lunch or breakfast menus.

Le Petit Chef

On Celebrity Edge, you will find a very unique, animated dining experience called “Le Petit Chef”.”

This speciality dining restaurant features an immersive and visual dinner where an animated chef is projected on the table from above.

You watch him preparing each course.

le petit chef celebrity cruises restaurant lobster

Understandably this means the menu is reasonably limited. When I tried this restaurant on Celebrity Silhouette, the animated chef was catching and preparing Lobster – which is something I would never eat!

It wasn’t a problem, it just meant my finished dish didn’t match the animation like everyone else’s did .

Expect to pay around $65 per person for this restaurant.

The display at the entrance of the restaurant showcases a display of oysters, crabs, and lobsters that you can choose from.

Their menu is also available at the Magic Carpet when it is positioned on deck 5 Then it features more casual offerings like Shrimp Salad, Lobster Roll and sushi and sashimi.

Expect to pay up to $75 per person, depending on what you choose from the menu.

Dinner on the Edge

This is the amazing pop-up restaurant on the Celebrity Edge’s “Magic Carpet.”

You can’t book this restaurant before you board the cruise, reservations have to be made once onboard.

It serves a three-course meal, including steak, Lobster, fish etc.

The cover charge for this at the time of writing is $129 per person – but the views as the sun sets must be stunning!

celebrity cruises included dining

As a budget-conscious cruiser, I decided to give the “Dinner on the Edge” speciality restaurant a miss .

To learn all about Celebrity’s unique Magic Carpet, watch this video next – it explains all!

Before You Go!

Do you want to compare Celebrity’s food to that of a less luxurious Cruise Line? I took a really cheap cruise on the Italian mega-ship Costa Smeralda. The food was of good quality, the menu was mostly Mediterranean.

To find out exactly what I ate on that cruise, click here:

Everything I ate on Costa Smeralda

Compare this to the food served on America’s biggest cruise line, Carnival. The menu was very different from Costa’s!

Celebrity Main Dining Room Menus 2022

by Prof. Cruise · Published February 14, 2022 · Updated March 23, 2022

A bunch of Celebrity dinner menus with text that reads: Celebrity cruise line main dining room menus 2022.

Upon receiving my first ever dinner onboard a Celebrity ship, I thought I’d finally achieved my goal of becoming the Anthony Bourdain of the cruise world and turned off airplane mode on my cell so I wouldn’t miss a call from CNN. But it turned out the same menu was available to everyone onboard and when I received my phone bill at the end of the month I had to cancel cable (not only did I not receive a call from CNN, I couldn’t even watch CNN) until I could pay it off. So the moral of this story is that Prof. Cruise remains an obscure cruise blogger and everyone eats like a Celebrity on a…Celebrity cruise (duh, now I get it).

In any case, here are the main dining room menus available to all B-list celebrity cruisers. A-list celebrity cruisers (suite and AquaClass guests) will dine in separate restaurants (Luminae and Blu, respectively). You can see sample Luminae and Blu menus HERE .

These menus are for cruises of up to 14 nights. If you’re on a shorter cruise, you won’t see all of these. They are generally offered in this order, but certain itineraries and ships may differ slightly (so double check). Some ships may also offer additional items. If you’ve cruised Celebrity before, please share your favorite selections in the comments. Bonus points if you send me photos!

Celebrity Cruise Line Breakfast Menu 2022

Breakfast will be offered every day in on of the main dining rooms on your Celebrity cruise. It’s a lovely, relaxed experience and I recommend you try it at least once. I always eat breakfast in the dining room on debarkation day and sometimes on port days to avoid large crowds at the buffet.

Celebrity Cruise Line Lunch Menus 2022

Lunch in the main dining room on Celebrity is generally only served on sea days. The menus are usually offered in this order (with not all offered, depending on the length of your cruise), but double check your particular ship and itinerary.

What’s Included in a Celebrity Cruise?

We detail what's included in a Celebrity cruise in 2023 to show you why a cruise with this brand is a great option for your next vacation.

First Impressions Celebrity Apex

Share this post:

For one set fare, a cruise vacation enables travelers to see multiple destinations while enjoying most of the onboard amenities. Although, the inclusions in each cruise line’s standard price can fluctuate. To help cruisers planning a Celebrity Cruises’ vacation, we have put together this list of what’s included in a Celebrity cruise, including all the details about the new All Included pricing option.

When booking a Celebrity cruise in 2023, you may notice you have two different pricing options, Cruise Only or All Included. The Cruise Only price is the base fare, while the All Included package includes a number of add-ons to make your cruise feel more all-inclusive.

First, we will discuss what’s included in a Celebrity cruise when booking the basic fare. Then, we will cover what’s part of the All Included fare and help you decide which is right for you.

What's Included in a Celebrity Cruise

Even if you opt for the Celebrity Cruise Only fare, you will discover that there is so much to do, see, and eat during your trip. Like most cruise lines, there are certain things that are always included in your cruise fare. These are accommodations, food and drinks, onboard activities, and entertainment.

While not everything in each category is free, you can still have a great vacation without paying extra.

Of course, you will also get to explore various corners of the globe while being treated to exceptional service and modern luxury onboard Celebrity Cruises!

EXCLUSIVE RATES: Get Deals on Your Next Celebrity Cruise!

Accommodations

Your cruise fare covers the cost of your stateroom for the duration of the trip. Included with your accommodations, you will have a friendly room attendant who will make up your room twice a day.

All Celebrity Cruises’ ships offer a variety of different room types and categories. Choosing your cabin type will be the main driver of your total cruise costs.

What is Included in a Celebrity Cruises Cruise

Along with larger rooms and suites, certain cabin categories provide travelers access to exclusive dining venues and other areas of the ship, along with additional amenities. For instance, suites have access to The Retreat , while AquaClass cabins have access to the thermal suite and fitness classes.

So, make sure to review all of the benefits for each cabin category before selecting the perfect fit for your next Celebrity cruise.

Food and Drinks

Is food included on celebrity cruises.

Regardless of the Celebrity cruise ship, you can enjoy three meals a day (with some snacks in between) at the casual Oceanview Café. This buffet is part of your cruise fare and offers a variety of menu items morning, noon, and night.

Other casual fare varies from ship to ship, such as the Mast Grill or the Aqua Spa Café. The Mast Grill is an outdoor burger station serving lunch and afternoon/early evening snacks. That way, you’ll never have to be too far away from the pool. The Aqua Spa Café is a healthier alternative near the Solarium that is open during the day for breakfast and lunch.

However, if you are looking to indulge a bit while on vacation, you will love Café al Bacio. This coffee shop is home to some of the most decadent treats onboard the ship. The small pastries, cookies, and dessert cakes and pies are all part of your cruise fare! Though, the coffee will cost extra.

celebrity cruises included dining

In addition to the casual fare, cruisers can also dine in the Main Dining Room. The main dining room(s) is always open for dinner, serving a different menu each night, with some standard classics that never change. The main dining room is also open for select hours for breakfast each day. On sea days, the restaurant opens for a sit down lunch.

On Edge Class ships, there are four complimentary main dining rooms. While each of these venues offers the same rotational menu and list of classic dishes, each also features exclusive menu items.

Regardless of when (or where) you eat in the main dining room, your meal in this venue is always part of your cruise fare.

Further, guests staying in certain room categories will have the opportunity to dine in additional exclusive, complimentary restaurants on Celebrity Cruises’ ships. Luminae is exclusive for Retreat guests and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Those staying in the AquaClass will have the option of dining at Blu. This restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner at no additional charge for eligible guests.

Do you get free drinks on Celebrity Cruises?

When it comes to beverages onboard your Celebrity cruise ship, you will have the options of juice, water, and coffee all day long at select beverage stations throughout the ship. At meals, juices and other select drinks, like iced-tea or lemonade, are available.

While these items are complimentary, soda, bottled water, specialty coffee, and alcoholic beverages will cost you extra money. This is when purchasing a  Celebrity cruise drink package  might come in handy.

What is Included in a Celebrity Cruise

Or, guests can also upgrade to the All Included package which includes a Classic Drink Package. This drink package entitles guests to beers, spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, frozen drinks, and wines by the glass for up to $10 per serving. This package also includes a 15% discount on all wines by the bottle.

Onboard Activities

Your cruise ship is a hub of activity and events. You will always find something to do on the ship that will not cost you a dime.

On Celebrity Cruises, you can enjoy modern fitness facilities for a workout at almost any time of day. If you prefer to be active outdoors, some ships offer outdoor sports decks with a basketball court or a jogging track. On the Solstice Class ships, you can enjoy lawn sports like bocce ball or games in the Rooftop Garden on the Edge Class ships.

Various poolside activities also occur when the weather permits. From water volleyball to table tennis, there are plenty of ways to burn some calories.

Top Things to Do on Celebrity Edge

The Celebrity cruise fare also includes other onboard events like trivia contests and game shows. Cruisers can become part of the entertainment too, at no additional cost. These events will be listed in the daily schedule left in your room each evening or on the Celebrity app. Even if you do not participate, these daily activities are equally as fun to watch.

Celebrity Cruises is known for enrichment talks and lectures as well. The line’s Beyond the Podium series is on all ships. World-renowned experts, from historians to college professors and culturists, offer regional talks that vary from ship to ship and provide insight into the ports of call that you will be visiting during your trip.

During our Alaskan cruise on Celebrity Solstice, these talks by Brent Nixon and Miss Amanda were among the highlights of our trip.

Nightly Entertainment

At night, your Celebrity cruise ship comes alive with plenty of entertainment options that won’t cost you anything. Your ship’s main theater will host signature evening entertainment. Here, there will be headliner acts such as comedians, singers, and other performers showcasing their talents.

The ship’s cast of singers and dancers will also feature different productions shows during the cruise. Cruisers with both early and late seating for dinner will have an opportunity to catch these performances as there are usually two showtimes each evening.

Throughout the cruise, additional performances like late-night comedy can occur as well, so be sure to check your Celebrity Today for the latest show schedule.

celebrity cruises included dining

You can also enjoy live music at one of the many onboard lounges as part of your cruise fare. Performers range from piano players to live bands and musical duos. Your ship will also feature DJs spinning tunes until the wee hours of the morning with no cover charges.

There are even themed parties that take place during the cruise that are free to attend. From an outdoor deck party to a 70’s disco party and even a “silent party”, there is always something happening for those of you who like to party.

What’s NOT Included in a Celebrity Cruise

While cruises do provide a great value, not everything will be covered in the cruise fare. On Celebrity Cruises, there are other amenities that can be purchased if cruisers choose to do so.

These add-ons listed below are not part of what’s included in a Celebrity cruise. They will all cost you additional money. Some can be purchased in advance of your cruise via the online cruise planner, or you can purchase once you are onboard the ship.

Alcoholic and Some Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Specialty dining.

  • Shore Excursions
  • Some Entertainment (bingo, cocktail tastings, etc.)

Spa and Thermal Suite

Room service.

SCORE SAVINGS BY BOOKING YOUR CELEBRITY CRUISE NOW!

As mentioned previously, alcoholic beverages are not part of the cruise fare. On Celebrity cruise ships, beer, wine, cocktails, soda, specialty coffee and tea, and bottled water will all cost additional fees.

Depending on your drinking habits, purchasing a Celebrity beverage package might be a better option than paying the a la carte pricing.

Celebrity Cruises offers three different beverage package options, the Classic Beverage package, Premium Beverage Package, and Zero Proof Beverage package.

The Classic Drink Package includes:

  • Beers, spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, frozen drinks, and wines by the glass for up to $10
  • Non-premium bottled water, specialty coffee, juices, and soda
  • A 15% discount on all wines by the bottle

The Premium Drink Package includes:

  • Craft & artisan beers, spirits, cocktails, frozen drinks, top shelf liquor, and wines by the glass up to $17
  • Specialty coffees & teas, Coca-Cola products, premium still and sparkling bottled water, Red Bull, Vitamin Water, Spa Café fresh juices, and zero proof cocktails
  • A 20% discount off all bottles of wine

The Zero Proof Drink Package includes:

  • Premium bottled water from Evian, Perrier, San Pellegrino, & Panna, Specialty Coffees & Organic Teas, Red Bull Energy Drinks, Frozen Smoothies, Zero Proof Cocktails, Coca-Cola selections, Vitamin Water, and Bottled Iced Teas

While there are many dining venues covered in the Celebrity cruise fare, the cruise line also offers up-charge dining options and experiences.

Specialty venues like the French-inspired Murano, the Italian-inspired Tuscan Grille, the seafood-centric Raw on 5, and the digitally mastered Le Petit Chef experience will have associated fees to dine there.

Newer specialty restaurant offerings like the Fine Cut Steakhouse, Eden Restaurant, Rooftop Garden Grill, and Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud all have upcharges as well.

celebrity cruises included dining

Most of these specialty restaurants on Celebrity Cruises have flat-fees, while a select few are priced a la carte.

If you do want to dine at one or more of these restaurants, reservations are highly recommended. We suggest you book pre-cruise as popular dining times do fill up quickly.

New in 2023, room service is no longer included in a Celebrity cruise. There is now a room service charge of $9.95 per room per order, with the exception of continental breakfast which remains free of charge from 6 to 11 AM.

This is a fixed cost, so guests will pay the same fee whether ordering one dish for one person or ten separate items for a group within a stateroom.

Room Service will continue to be complimentary for guests of The Retreat (suites) and Zenith Captain Club members.

Cruise  gratuities  are services charges that are not included in your standard cruise fare, similar to a hotel resort fee. These additional fees are a per person, per day dollar amount that are charged to all guests, usually automatically, across all stateroom categories.

These charges serve as a means to reward the hard-working crew for the excellent service provided during your cruise vacation.

In 2023, Celebrity Cruises gratuities are as follows:

  • $17.50 per person, per day for Inside, Ocean View, and Veranda staterooms
  • $18 per person, per day for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms
  • $21 per person, per day for guests of The Retreat

However, if you book the Celebrity Cruises All Included price option, these gratuities are included.

Of course, if you would like to tip any crew members additionally for exceptional service, you can certainly still do so.

Celebrity AquaClass Stateroom

You will need to purchase an internet package if you want to stay in touch with family and friends, as WiFi is not part of the base cruise fare.

Celebrity offers different WiFi packages at varying prices depending on your needs.

The Basic WiFi package is capable of surfing, email, and social media. However, it does not include streaming or use of technologies such as FaceTime. The Premium WiFi package includes the use of streaming apps. Both of these packages are unlimited and can only be used on one device at a time.

Pricing for Celebrity Cruises WiFi is as follows:

  • Basic WiFi for one device: $19.99 per guest, per day
  • Premium WiFi for one device: $34.99 per guest, per day

Guests should check their cruise planner as they can often score discounts when purchasing pre-cruise. Captain’s Club loyalty members may receive discounts as well.

Are shore excursions included on Celebrity Cruises?

Your cruise ship will transport you to several exciting ports of call. Unfortunately though, Celebrity Cruises does not include any shore excursions as part of the base fare. These tours and additional experiences are available through the cruise line or through third party retailers at additional costs.

What's Included on a Celebrity Cruise

Shore excursions can range from inexpensive walking tours to several hundreds of dollars for unique experiences. These prices are also very dependent on destination, with Caribbean and Bahamas tours usually being cheaper. Alaska cruise excursions do tend to be among the most expensive.

Some Entertainment

While there are several included activities and entertainment, most Celebrity cruise ships offer additional classes and seminars that cost an upcharge. These include mixology demonstrations, food and wine pairings, hot glass classes, Bingo, and more. The costs for these optional experiences are $25 or more per person.

All Celebrity ships also offer a Spa providing a variety of services for additional costs. Guests can book these experiences, such as massages or salon services, pre-cruise or while onboard the ship.

Many ships also have a thermal suite. This area includes a selection of relaxing experiences such as saunas, steam rooms, therapeutic pools, and heated loungers.

Cruisers staying in Aqua Class suites will have unlimited access to the ship’s thermal suite. However, all other cruisers will have to purchase a pass to access the thermal suite facilities.

Other Add-Ons

Of course, any shopping in the retail stores onboard the ship or gaming in the casino are all at your own expense.

If you would like clothing washed or pressed, these laundry services will cost you extra money as well unless you have loyalty perks with the Captain’s Club.

Likewise, photo packages, special celebration packages, and pre/post cruise travel expenses are not included in a Celebrity cruise.

Thus, when determining your  cruise budget , you will need to account for expenses like airfare, a pre-cruise or post-cruise hotel, and transportation to and from the cruise terminal.

Is Celebrity Cruises All Inclusive?

As mentioned previously, when booking a Celebrity cruise, guests now have the option of a Cruise Only or All Included rate. The All Included rate makes your Celebrity cruise more all inclusive by adding additional perks to your cruise vacation.

What is All Included (Always Included) with Celebrity Cruises?

This new All Included pricing structure was formerly called Always Included.

The All Included rate includes (for most stateroom categories):

  • A Classic Beverage Package
  • A Basic WiFi package

All Included pricing applies to sailings booked and departing on or after January 09, 2023. Further, All Included is applicable to all stateroom categories including The Retreat. It is also available on most sailings except the Galapagos.

All guests in the same stateroom must choose the same rate.

Guests staying in The Retreat will receive a Premium Drink Package, gratuities, onboard credit, and an unlimited Premium WiFi package.

Guests opting for this All Included price can pay to upgrade the Classic Beverage Package to a Premium Beverage Package for $24 per person, per day. Additionally, they can pay to upgrade the Basic WiFi to a Premium WiFi package for $15 per person, per day.

Celebrity Beyond Caribbean Cruise Review

Is it worth upgrading to the Celebrity Cruises All Included price?

When considering this question, you will want to examine the cost for such included amenities.

  • Classic Beverage Package- $89 per person, per day
  • Basic WiFi Package- $16.99 per device, per day
  • Gratuities- $17.50 per person, per day for Inside, Ocean View, and Veranda staterooms, $18 per person, per day for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms, and $21 per person, per day for guests of The Retreat

It is also important to know the difference in price between the Cruise Only fare and the All Included price. During our recent search across various dates, ships, and cabin categories, it appeared the average price to upgrade from the Cruise Only to the All Included rate is about $80 per person, per day.

So, crunching the numbers, it’s easy to see that if you plan to purchase a drink package on your Celebrity cruise, upgrading to the All Included package is a no-brainer. You will basically get the WiFi and gratuities for free. However, if you don’t drink alcohol, then it probably does not make sense to upgrade.

My question is if I have a classic drink package & free gratuities & I order a $15. mixed drink. I understand that I will have to pay the $5. which is above my max $10. How much would my gratuity be on this drink? 20% of the $15, 20% of the $5. Or zero since I have the gratuity package?

What to Know About All 16 Ships in the Celebrity Cruises Fleet

Here’s what you need to know about every Celebrity Cruises ship.

Celebrity Cruises is among our readers' favorite mega-ship ocean lines — coming in at No. 1 in 2022 and No. 2 in 2023 as part of our World's Best Awards (WBA) — and it's easy to see why. This WBA Hall of Fame honoree truly shines with its sophisticated, tasteful decor and sleek onboard spaces, including swanky lounges, dazzling bars, gourmet specialty restaurants, and contemporary suites. Almost all Celebrity ships, except the three Xpedition-class vessels, offer standard amenities like casinos, retail shops, spas, and Broadway-level shows and entertainment. There's also the adults-only Solarium and The Retreat, the latter of which is reserved exclusively for suite guests. Paul Brady , Travel + Leisure ’s news director and cruise expert, told us, “Because its ships offer so much to do, Celebrity is a fantastic choice for families, who can choose from a huge array of well-designed staterooms and suites. Groups of friends, too, will find much to like, thanks to the brand's fantastic dining (and drinking) options.”

Paul Brady is the news director at Travel + Leisure and the brand's expert on all things cruise.

Kari Becker is a travel advisor at Marvelous Mouse Travels.

With a fleet of 16 ships, it can be tricky to determine which Celebrity ship is best suited for your specific needs.Travel advisor Kari Becker of Marvelous Mouse Travels explains, "Whatever your taste, there is a perfect Celebrity cruise to meet your needs." She continues, telling T+L, "There are three main classes: the Edge, Solstice, and Millennium classes, all with unique features, benefits, and advantages." The Millennium-class ships are smaller which, per Becker, may "offer a more personalized experience." Solstice is the largest class of Celebrity's fleet, says Becker. "When designed, these ships focused on innovation, with unique spaces including a real grass lawn, and unique onboard experiences, such as glass-making classes." Last but not least is Celebrity's Edge class. Per the pro, the ships in the line's newest class are "the largest of the fleet, offering more space for additional experiences and restaurants, including a massive pool deck, floating platform at sea (aptly called the Magic Carpet), and Rooftop Garden." All in all, she says, "The Edge series is for guests looking for transformative cruising and splendor with countless gourmet restaurants and immersive entertainment."

Ahead, we’ve listed every Celebrity ship currently in service — complete with their notable amenities, launch year, guest capacity, and other need-to-know insights — to help you determine which vessel is best for your next voyage.

Celebrity Ascent

Inaugural Year: 2023

Ship Class: Edge

Ship Capacity: 3,260 passengers

Celebrity’s newest ship is also its flashiest — in the best way possible. The Celebrity Ascent offers an expanded Retreat area (exclusive to suite guests), complete with a 40-percent-larger two-story sundeck, and the swanky Sunset Bar, which is 180 percent larger. Beyond The Retreat, there are 32 bars, restaurants, and lounges, a lush Rooftop Garden, an adults-only Solarium, the three-level Eden restaurant and entertainment venue, and the Magic Carpet, a floating platform that reaches 13 stories above sea level. Finally, stay in one of the Iconic Suites, the largest in the Celebrity fleet, for the ultimate splurge.

Celebrity Beyond

Inaugural Year: 2022

Celebrity Beyond is nearly identical to Celebrity Ascent . Both Edge-class sister ships have the same spectacular amenities and features, including a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center that’s sure to impress wellness-seekers, who will also be happy in one of the AquaClass Sky Suites, which offer in-room yoga mats and fitness equipment. It’s also worth noting that these suite guests also enjoy access to the SEA Thermal Suite and a dedicated spa concierge. Don’t miss the adults-only Solarium, the Rooftop Garden, the aforementioned Eden, or the Magic Carpet, which offers the best views at sea.

Paul Brady was onboard the Beyond in October 2022. “My stateroom, 9164, was a Sky Suite, with a king bed facing a private terrace and a clever roll-open mirror that let natural light into the spacious bathroom. Dining at the Daniel Boulud restaurant Le Voyage was one highlight — with seven courses — but so too were casual cocktails at Sunset Bar, with its touch of Moroccan design influence courtesy of Nate Berkus, who dreamed up the multi-level lounge,” said Brady of his experience.

Celebrity Apex

Inaugural Year: 2020

Ship Capacity: 2,910 passengers

The second Edge-class ship, Celebrity Apex , made its grand debut in 2020. It boasts an abundance of stylish onboard spaces, including the Rooftop Garden and the adults-only Solarium. Access to the exclusive Retreat area is reason alone to book one of the contemporary suites. Other highlights include the dazzling three-story Grand Plaza, where you’ll find the aptly named Martini Bar, one of 29 bars, lounges, and restaurants aboard Apex , along with the orange-hued Magic Carpet, which offers live music and a full bar 13 feet above sea level.

“I was fortunate to snag one of just a handful of Royal Suites on the ship, 12105, which had the look of a chic coastal Florida cottage, elevated with pops of bright green, geometric tiling, and contemporary art on the walls. The bathroom, with a deep soaking tub and spacious shower, rivaled any I’ve seen at land-based resorts,” said Brady of his November 2021 sailing. “Same with the Grand Plaza at the heart of the ship, a gathering place with a hotel lobby vibe in the best possible sense — and a glitzy Martini Bar.”

Celebrity Flora

Inaugural Year: 2019

Ship Class: Xpedition

Ship Capacity: 100 passengers

Cruise the Galapagos in style aboard Celebrity Flora , which made its maiden voyage in 2019. The vessel was designed with sustainability in mind: It's built with natural materials and features anchorless technology to protect the seabed. Certified naturalists from Galapagos National Park are on board to help guests gain a better understanding of the region for an educational trip. The ship also offers a once-in-a-lifetime glamping experience, which includes dinner and drinks, a naturalist-guided stargazing session, accommodations in a cabana-turned-double bed, and a private breakfast. Plus, with its all-suite accommodations, the small ship has a mega-yacht feel.

Celebrity Edge

Inaugural Year: 2018

Ship Capacity: 2,918 passengers

This sophisticated ship — the first in Celebrity’s Edge class — changed the game following its 2018 debut. What’s more, Edge was the very first Celebrity ship to feature the Magic Carpet, the multifunctional Eden, and the Infinite Veranda Staterooms, which, with the touch of a button, transform your living space into your very own private balcony.

Celebrity Reflection

Inaugural Year: 2012

Ship Class: Solstice

Ship Capacity: 3,046 passengers

The fifth, final, and largest Solstice-class cruise ship, Celebrity Reflection , will impress even the pickiest of travelers with its onboard activities, amenities, and spaces, including a total of 22 bars, restaurants, and lounges. In addition to The Retreat (reserved exclusively for suite guests) and The Solarium (adults-only), Reflection — along with all Solstice-class ships — boasts the Lawn Club. Located on the top deck of the ship, this chic outdoor space (which is outfitted with real grass, no less), is perfect for sipping cocktails, enjoying a leisurely lunch, listening to live music, lounging in a cabana, or playing a game of bocce or croquet. The adults-only Persian Garden area at the spa is a favorite amongst wellness enthusiasts.

Celebrity Silhouette

Inaugural Year: 2011

Ship Capacity: 2,902 passengers

Celebrity Silhouette is elegant in every sense, from the aptly named Grand Foyer — with its marvelous marble floors, extravagant staircase (which is prime for photo opportunities), and the first panoramic oceanview glass elevators at sea — to stylish lounges like The Hideaway or the natural light-filled Sky Lounge. While suite guests gain exclusive access to The Retreat, anyone can relax in one of the swanky pool areas or the laid-back Lawn Club. Then, when hunger — or thirst — calls, passengers can take their pick of over 20 food and drink options.

Celebrity Eclipse

Inaugural Year: 2010

Ship Capacity: 2,852 passengers

An impressive modern art collection, an expansive spa, a half-acre lawn, and top-notch dining: Find all this and more aboard Celebrity Eclipse , which debuted in 2010. This Solstice-class vessel also boasts an onboard nightclub, popular among party-centric travelers, a striking Grand Foyer, and, last but not least, the Solstice Club. Located at the highest point of the ship, the Solstice Club is a haven for R&R with its canopy lounge beds — and it’s also a popular spot for morning yoga or evening stargazing sessions.

Celebrity Equinox

Inaugural Year: 2009

Refurbished in 2019, Celebrity Equinox exudes cool. On board this stylish ship, guests can sip cocktails in style at one of several hip bars, including the Martini Bar and Slush, enjoy a picnic lunch or practice their golf swing at the half-acre Lawn Club, or soak up the sun at the adults-only Solarium or the plush lounge-lined pool area. Finally, guests should consider booking a suite to access Luminae, a swanky restaurant that serves decadent dishes designed by acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud.

Celebrity Solstice

Inaugural Year: 2008

Ship Capacity:  2,852 passengers

The first ship in Celebrity’s Solstice class currently cruises Alaska and the Pacific Coast in style. Here, you’ll find the lush Lawn Club, the adults-only Persian Garden thermal suite, and the glam Grand Foyer. Additional highlights include the Solstice Deck, an onboard nightclub, and a slew of bars and lounges, including the wine-centric Cellar Masters, where oenophiles can learn about – and taste — a wide variety of vinos from across the globe. Art lovers shouldn’t miss the Hot Glass Class, featuring professional-led glass-blowing demos.

Celebrity Xploration

Inaugural Year: 2007

Ship Class: Xpedition

Ship Capacity: 16 passengers

With a passenger capacity of just 16, the Xploration is Celebrity’s smallest ship. As such, cruisers can expect an intimate onboard ambiance. When not out and about exploring the Galapagos, guests can hang in the lounge, relax in their suite (some with private balconies), and soak up some rays — or stargaze — on the hot tub-equipped sundeck.

Celebrity Constellation

Inaugural Year: 2002

Ship Class: Millennium

Ship Capacity: 2,184 passengers

This 22-year-old Celebrity ship offers a more refined, subdued atmosphere compared to the line’s newer ships, which boast flashier features like the Magic Carpet. The Rooftop Terrace area serves as a restaurant, bar, and outdoor movie theater, complete with cozy furnishings coupled with mouthwatering bites and sips. Meanwhile, the adults-only Persian Garden area in the spa is ideal for wellness-seeking cruisers.

Celebrity Summit

Inaugural Year: 2001

Ship Capacity: 2,218 passengers

Celebrity Summit, which cruises Alaska and the Caribbean, technically dates back to 2001; however, in 2019, it received a $75-million refurbishment to bring it a little more in line with Celebrity’s newest ships, including 2018’s Celebrity Edge . Expect stylish spaces galore, including the Sunset and Martini bars, plus a sleek Rooftop Terrace where cruisers can catch outdoor flicks while basking in the ocean views.

Celebrity Xpedition

Ship Class: Xpedition

Ship Capacity: 48 passengers

Last refurbished in 2018, Celebrity Xpedition was purposely built to cruise the Galapagos. The immersive onboard experience includes nightly lectures by certified naturalists from Galapagos National Park, who will be on board the entire sailing. Enjoy postcard-worthy views from the Panorama Deck, or take a dip in the hot tub on the Sunrise Deck. Passengers can choose from a handful of elegant rooms and suites; however, those who want their own balcony will need to spring on the latter.

Celebrity Infinity

Inaugural Year: 2000

Ship Capacity: 2,170 passengers

Celebrity Infinity is a favorite among laid-back cruisers — primarily couples and adult friend groups. Popular onboard hangout spots include the adults-only Solarium, the buzzy Rooftop Terrace, and, for suite guests, The Retreat. The ship also has a handful of specialty dining restaurants (in addition to complimentary ones, of course). Le Petit Chef is well worth the added fee thanks to a combination of gourmet eats and exhilarating entertainment complete with tabletop animations.

Celebrity Millennium

Inaugural Year: 1999

Ship Class: Millennium

Don’t sleep on Celebrity’s oldest ship, which includes a handful of fan-favorite amenities and spaces such as The Retreat, the Solarium, the Rooftop Terrace, and the Grand Foyer. Last refurbished in 2019, Millennium now features a more contemporary design aesthetic, similar to what you’d find on the newer ships. There are also more than 15 bars and restaurants on board.
