Code Orange Debut Pummeling New Song ‘Out for Blood’
Code Orange have just released a video for the new track “Out for Blood.” The cut is a nasty, pounding piece of modern metal that’s tailor made for a wide radio audience.
“Out for Blood” was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day / Linkin Park). As for the video, which was directed by Max Moore, “Out for Blood” is reminiscent of the early 2000s, showing Code Orange jamming in an underground venue for rabid fans while blood pours on a crowd-surfing Jami Morgan.
The track has been officially released as a standalone single rather than the first taste of a new album. Code Orange continue riding high off their acclaimed 2020 album, Underneath .
“When they go right, we go left,” Morgan says. “Code Orange is Out For Blood and we are just gettin’ started.”
Watch the video for “Out for Blood” below and pick up the track here .
Code Orange, "Out for Blood"
Code Orange recently revealed Tallah’s Max Portnoy is their current touring drummer. The percussive prodigy joined the band on the Knotfest Roadshow tour opening for Slipknot, Killswitch Engage and Fever 333. Code Orange were forced to cancel a number of headlining shows due to enhanced COVID protocols on the Knotfest Roadshow.
Code Orange’s final show of 2021 will take place at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida. Fans in Europe can expect the band to cross the Atlantic in the summer of 2022.

In between Coachella weekends the PA outfit snuck in a sold out Southern California club show that pure exhilaration.
Just last weekend, PA hardcore trailblazers Code Orange took on the festival community at Coachella and scored a big win for the heavy contingent with an electric set that set the bar for what has unofficially been christened "Codechella". The festival appearances were lumped into the band's current 'Out For Blood' tour that touts a ridiculously good line-up of some of the most exciting new names.
Ensuring the week between their Indio weekenders didn't go to waste, Code O managed to get in a Southern California headlining club play that saw the band thrive in their element - up-close, personal, and absolutely punishing.
Compiling a relentless set, Code Orange unleashed a live arsenal that pummeled Pomona's Glass House in a 13-song barrage that showcased the band's essentials. From "Forever" and Bleeding In the Blur" to staples from the Underneath -era like "You and You Alone" and the closer "Swallowing the Rabbit Whole" the band thrived in the sweltering hot box, energized by the sold out crowd that erupted with the start of each track.
Armed with a unique swagger and an unapologetic disposition, the band deliver live in a way that makes even the most casual fan turn devotee. Jami Morgan's command on the mic, in tandem with Reba Myers' relentless rip, lead an outfit that leave nothing in the tank when they hit the stage - with their most ardent fans responding in kind.
Adding to intrigue of a band like Code Orange is their willingness to share the spotlight with a new generation of forward thinking heavy artisans. Assembling a supporting line-up that includes UK standouts Loathe, emerging Des Moines destructors Vended and PNW hardcore practitioners Dying Wish, not only does Code O perfect their brand of outsider art but they nurture those that embrace their same defiant spirit. Few tours have this kind of continuity while all the while showcasing such diversity - no two bands sound the same and yet they all convey the kind of eruption that make a 420 club show well worth staying out late on a school night.
Code Orange performs the second weekend of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio on April 22nd and resumes their Out For Blood Tour in Las Vegas on April 23rd. The full list of remaining dates can be found below.

The one-off single is the band's first new music since 2020's Underneath LP
Code Orange have unleashed the returned with a new song, “Out for Blood,” along with a Max Moore-directed music video.
“Out for Blood” is the band’s first new music since 2020’s Underneath , and was recorded with veteran producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance).
It might be the danciest Code Orange song yet, as the band dive headfirst into industrial metal territory. Heavy keyboards and beats clash against chunky groove riffs, giving off a Rammstein vibe as frontman Jami delivers a wildly dramatic vocal that evokes ’90s nu-metal.
Frontman Jami Morgan offered vague remarks on the group’s new musical direction: “When they go right, we go left. Code Orange is Out for Blood and we are just gettin’ started.”
The lavishly produced performance video sees Code Orange delivering their new song in a sweatbox venue. For as maximal as the group’s recent songs have been, they continue to offer up equally sensational videos.
Code Orange spent the recent weeks as part of the Knotfest Roadshow supporting Slipknot. Coming along for the ride was new touring drummer Max Portnoy , the son of prog drumming legend and ex-Dream Theater member Mike Portnoy.
We previously reported on Code Orange hitting the studio with Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan to record some “blistering new songs.” Considering “Out for Blood” was tracked with Rob Cavallo, it appears the band have even more new music in the tank.
