Los Temerarios’ 2024 Mexico City Concert

Los Temerarios, the beloved Mexican romantic ballad group, announced in August 2023 that they would be embarking on a farewell tour in 2023 and 2024 before separating for good after more than 45 illustrious years performing together. As part of this “Hasta Siempre” tour, Los Temerarios will be playing two nostalgic, emotional shows in Mexico City in February 2024.

Beginning of an Era

Los Temerarios, composed of brothers Adolfo Angel and Gustavo Angel Alba, have been serenading fans since the late 1970s. Hailing from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, the band cultivated a devoted following for their distinctive melding of romantic ballads and Tex-Mex sounds. Over their prolific career, Los Temerarios produced a string of chart-topping albums and even garnered a Latin Grammy nomination for their album “Veintisiete.”

Farewell Tour Announcement

In a statement released on August 28th, 2023 from Miami, Los Temerarios revealed to heartbroken fans:

“With the love that has united us since we were children, the same feeling for the work we have had the privilege to perform for over 46 years, we want to share the news that we have made the difficult decision to separate musically, closing one of the most important and rewarding cycles of our lives.”

They clarified that they would initially fulfill their existing 2023 tour dates in the U.S. through November 2023 before concluding their illustrious run with shows across Mexico and Latin America in 2024.

2024 Mexico City Dates

As part of their 2024 Latin American leg of the farewell trek, Los Temerarios will play two nostalgic concerts in Mexico City:

  • February 14, 2024  at Arena CDMX
  • February 15, 2024  at Arena CDMX

Valentine’s Day 2024 is poetically scheduled as their first epic, emotional show in the heart of Mexico City. Without a doubt, these concerts will be incredible celebrations of the musical legacy of Los Temerarios over their 46 magnificent years performing their signature romantic ballads for adoring fans across Mexico and beyond.

Setlist Expectations

Audiences can expect to sway and sing along to beloved hits like:

  • “Enamorado de Ti”
  • “Acepta Mi Error”
  • “La Diferencia”
  • “Sé Que Te Amo”

And undoubtedly endure the swelling heartache of classics like “Porque Te Conocí” and “Sí Quiero Volver” as Los Temerarios serenade Mexico City with their ballads one last nostalgic time.

Reactions from Fans

Understandably, devoted fans were shocked and saddened by the news of Los Temerarios’ impending 2024 dissolution. Longtime fan Claudia reflected:

“It’s the end of an era. I’ve grown up with their music, and it will be emotional to say goodbye. But I’m so excited to see them one last time in Mexico City – it will be a night to remember.”

The 2024 Mexico City concerts will surely be incredible celebrations tinged with nostalgia, providing the perfect opportunities for fans to express their appreciation for Los Temerarios’ decades of musical artistry.

The Final Chapter

The 2024 Latin America leg of the tour marks the conclusion of the multi-decade career of Los Temerarios. After the Mexico City shows, Los Temerarios will play a string of dates in other Mexican states before shows in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. They plan to ultimately wrap the farewell spectacular with a grand finale concert in Anaheim, California in November 2024.

Below are all their scheduled 2024 tour dates:

The Final Howl

Like the lone wolves that inspired their name, Los Temerarios will surely deliver two intensely emotional Mexico City concerts to bid farewell to their Mexican faithful in 2024. As the curtain closes on a legendary nearly 50-year musical partnership, Los Temerarios will surely leave everything on the stage with spine-tingling performances in their Mexico City swan songs. Their two 2024 Arena CDMX concerts will be epic, nostalgic nights that fans will undoubtedly cherish for years to come.

Miami Florida August 28, 2023

With the love that has united us since we were children, same feeling for work we have had the privilege to do for more than 46 years, we want to share the news that we have made the difficult decision to separate musically, closing one of the most important and rewarding cycles of our lives.

Los Temerarios (formed in 1978) is a Mexican romantic music group formed by brothers Adolfo Angel and Gustavo Angel, along with their cousin Fernando Angel, from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.

In the late 1970s Adolfo and Gustavo Angel’s father rented out a room in their house to rehearsing musicians and whenever the musicians left the brothers would make use of the space; learning to sing and play music of their own. In 1977 the pair formed the group la Brisa which would play parties and weddings, until signing with CBS Mexico in 1983.

The band’s early releases were organ-driven corridos, upbeat rancheras and danceable cumbias. However Los Temerarios didn’t have a breakthrough until they signed with the independent label Disa in the late ‘80s, when the pair had honed their vocal and songwriting skills to a reputable level, with ballads including “Tu Infame Engaño” (“Your Infamous Deception”) and “Ven Porgque Te Necesito” (“Come, I Need You”).

In 1991 the band comprised of Adolofo on the keys, Gustavo on guitar, cousin Fernando Angel on bass, Mario Ortiz on drums and Carlos Abrego on percussion. The same year brought Los Temerarios’ biggest breakthrough into national and international stardom with the album “Mi Vida Eres Tú” (“My Life Is You”) adopting mariachi instrumentation, electric bass and dramatic symbol crashes. The band’s subsequent albums “Tu Última Cancion” and “Cómo Te Recuerdo” attempted to retain the elements which made so “Mi Vida Eres Tú” popular.

The next move of Los Temerarios was to create their own label Ángel Records, which changed to AFG Sigma in 1994, through which they release the album “Lo Nuevo…y lo Mejor”. With the label FonoVisa owning a monopoly of artists and rights within the onda grupera genre in the U.S., Los Temerarios were an anomaly in the business for charting impressively on the U.S. Billboard Latin chart through their own label.

After a pretty drastic downhill trend the band eventually sold AFG Sigma to FonoVisa in 1996, who then rereleased Los Temerarios’ 1995 album “Camino del Amor” which singles off the album charted much higher than their initial release on AFG Sigma.

The group has been consistently releasing albums and singles over the past decade which has attributed to Los Temerarios’ latin music success, including a Latin Grammy Award in 2000, a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Premio Lo Nuestro Awards show in 2005, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Latin Billboard Music Awards.

Live reviews

I have enjoyed los Temerarios since about 1991. The show itself is always awesome. This show I had an issue with the ticket website. First, the website would not allow the purchase of tickets for about a week. I finally got ahold of someone at the customer service number and it was fixed. Then when I purchased my tickets I selected the higher price 'general admission 1' instead of '

general admission 2' thinking that as in most cases the higher prices indicated better seating....boy was I wrong. There were no seats and I found out I paid the higher price for absolutely nothing. I asked around and other concert goers paid the general admission 2 price and received the same exact place in line as well as view of the show. That was very unprofessional to me. I realize it may not be the fault of the groups putting on the shows however; I do believe they should confirm and reconfirm that their fans who pay lots of money to see them, will be treated with good customer service and honesty. Otherwise people begin to lose interest not because of the bands but because of how shady the venue customer service reps are.

After half an hours worth of anticipation, for Fito Y Fitipaldis, this audience go absolutely wild when the lights fade to black and this fantastic rock act take to the stage picking up their guitars and having the best time rocking out.

They have a sound that is so commercial yet so credible. They sing in their native language of Spanish, which makes for a very cultured and interesting show all around. This of course makes you appreciate music as a worldwide language as it’s quite evident what each song is about. They perform so well as a unit with the guitar melodies bouncing off the vocals in contrapuntal fashion, and then the audience reaction interlaces into the fantastic sound that they make.

There’s almost a sort of Spanish Bruce Springsteen vibe about them with the way that they hold themselves as a band, being reminiscent of the E –Street band. Especially with the instrumental breaks, complete with guitar, keyboard and saxophone solos. Such a great time indeed!

A Virtual Reality Tour of Surveillance Tech at the Border: A Conversation with Dave Maass of the Electronic Frontier Foundation

temerarios tour 2024 mexico

This interview is crossposted from The Markup, a nonprofit news organization that investigates technology and its impact on society.

By: Monique O. Madan , Investigative Reporter at The Markup

temerarios tour 2024 mexico

After reading my daily news stories amid his declining health, my grandfather made it a habit of traveling the world—all from his desk and wheelchair. When I went on trips, he always had strong opinions and recommendations for me, as if he’d already been there. “I've traveled to hundreds of countries," he would tell me. "It's called Google Earth. Today, I’m going to Armenia.” My Abuelo’s passion for teleporting via Google Street View has always been one of my fondest memories and has never left me.

So naturally, when I found out that Dave Maass of the Electronic Frontier Foundation gave virtual reality tours of surveillance technology along the U.S.–Mexico border, I had to make it happen. I cover technology at the intersection of immigration , criminal justice, social justice and government accountability, and Maass’ tour aligns with my work as I investigate border surveillance.

My journey began in a small, quiet, conference room at the Homestead Cybrarium , a hybrid virtual public library where I checked out virtual reality gear. The moment I slid the headset onto my face and the tour started, I was transported to a beach in San Diego. An hour and a half later, I had traveled across 1,500 miles worth of towns and deserts and ended up in Brownsville, Texas.

During that time, we looked at surveillance technology in 27 different cities on both sides of the border. Some of the tech I saw were autonomous towers, aerostat blimps, sky towers, automated license plate readers, and border checkpoints.

After the excursion, I talked with Maass, a former journalist, about the experience. Our conversation has been edited for brevity and clarity.

Monique O. Madan: You began by dropping me in San Diego, California, and it was intense. Tell me why you chose the location to start this experience.

Dave Maass: So I typically start the tour in San Diego for two reasons. One is because it is the westernmost part of the border, so it's a natural place to start. But more importantly, it is such a stark contrast to be able to jump from one side to the other, from the San Diego side to the Tijuana side.

When you're in San Diego, you're in this very militarized park that's totally empty, with patrol vehicles and this very fierce-looking wall and a giant surveillance tower over your head. You can really get a sense of the scale.

And once you're used to that, I jump you to the other side of the wall. You're able to suddenly see how it's party time in Tijuana, how they painted the wall, and how there are restaurants and food stands and people playing on the beach and there are all these Instagram moments.

A surveillance tower overlooks the border fence

Yet on the other side is the American militarized border, you know, essentially spying on everybody who's just going about their lives on the Mexican side.

It also serves as a way to show the power of VR. If there were no wall, you could walk that in a minute. But because of the border wall, you've got to go all the way to the border crossing, and then come all the way back. And we're talking, potentially, hours for you to be able to go that distance.

Madan: I felt like I was in two different places, but it was really the same place, just feet away from each other. We saw remote video surveillance systems, relocatable ones. We saw integrated fixed towers, autonomous surveillance towers, sky towers, aerostat radar systems, and then covert automated license plate readers. How do you get the average person to digest what all these things really mean?

Maass: Me and some colleagues at EFF, we were looking at how we could use virtual reality to help people understand surveillance. We came up with a very basic game called “Spot the Surveillance,” where you could put on a headset and it puts you in one location with a 360-degree camera view. We took a photo of a corner in San Francisco that already had a lot of surveillance, but we also Photoshopped in other pieces of surveillance. The idea was for people to look around and try to find the surveillance.

When they found one, it would ping, and it would tell you what the technology could do. And we found that that helped people learn to look around their environment for these technologies, to understand it. So it gave people a better idea of how we exist in the environment differently than if they were shown a picture or a PowerPoint presentation that was like, “This is what a license plate reader looks like. This is what a drone looks like.”

That is why when we're on the southern border tour, there are certain places where I don't point the technology out to you. I ask you to look around and see if you can find it yourself.

Sometimes I start with one where it's overhead because people are looking around. They're pointing to a radio tower, pointing to something else. It takes them a while before they actually look up in the sky and see there's this giant spy mob over their head. But, yeah, one of the other ones is these license plate readers that are hidden in traffic cones. People don't notice them there because they're just these traffic cones that are so ubiquitous along highways and streets that they don't actually think about it.

Madan: People have the impression that surveillance ops are only in militarized settings. Can you talk to me about whether that’s true?

Maass: Certainly there are towers in the middle of the desert. Certainly there are towers that are in remote or rural areas. But there are just so many that are in urban areas, from big cities to small towns.

Rather than just a close-up picture of a tower, once you actually see one and you're able to look at where the cameras are pointed, you start to see things like towers that are able to look into people's back windows, and towers that are able to look into people's backyards, and whole communities that are going to have glimpses over their neighborhood all the time.

But so rarely in the conversation is the impact on the communities that live on both the U.S. and Mexican side of the border, and who are just there all the time trying to get by and have, you know, the normal dream of prospering and raising a family.

Madan: What does this mean from a privacy, human rights, and civil liberties standpoint?

Maass: There’s not a lot of transparency around issues of technology. That is one of the major flaws, both for human rights and civil liberties, but it's also a flaw for those who believe that technology is going to address whatever amorphous problem they've identified or failed to identify with border security and migration. So it's hard to know when this is being abused and how.

But what we can say is that as [the government] is applying more artificial intelligence to its camera system, it's able to document the pattern of life of people who live along the border.

It may be capturing people and learning where they work and where they're worshiping or who they are associated with. So you can imagine that if you are somebody who lives in that community and if you're living in that community your whole life, the government may have, by the time you're 31 years old, your entire driving history on file that somebody can access at any time, with who knows what safeguards are in place.

But beyond all that, it really normalizes surveillance for a whole community.

There are a lot of psychological studies out there about how surveillance can affect people over time, affect their behavior, and affect their perceptions of a society. That's one of the other things I worry about: What kind of psychological trauma is surveillance causing for these communities over the long term, in ways that may not be immediately perceptible?

Madan: One of the most interesting uses of experiencing this tour via the VR technology was being able to pause and observe every single detail at the border checkpoint.

Maass: Most people are just rolling through, and so you don't get to notice all of the different elements of a checkpoint. But because the Google Street View car went through, we can roll through it at our leisure and point out different things. I have a series of checkpoints that I go through with people, show them this is where the license plate reader is, this is where the scanner truck is, here's the first surveillance camera, here's the second surveillance camera. We can see the body-worn camera on this particular officer. Here's where people are searched. Here's where they're detained. Here's where their car is rolled through an X-ray machine.

Madan: So your team has been mapping border surveillance for a while. Tell us about that and how it fits into this experience.

Maass: We started mapping out the towers in 2022 , but we had started researching and building a database of at least the amount of surveillance towers by district in 2019.

temerarios tour 2024 mexico

I don't think it was apparent to anyone until we started mapping these out, how concentrated towers are in populated areas. Maybe if you were in one of those populated areas, you knew about it, or maybe you didn't.

In the long haul, it may start to tell a little bit more about border policy in general and whether any of these are having any kind of impact, and maybe we start to learn more about apprehensions and other kinds of data that we can connect to.

Madan: If someone wanted to take a tour like this, if they wanted to hop on in VR and visit a few of these places, how can they do that?

Maass: So if they have a VR headset, a Meta Quest 2 or newer, the Wander app is what you're going to use. You can just go into the app and position yourself somewhere in the border. Jump around a little bit, maybe it will be like five feet, and you can start seeing a surveillance tower.

If you don’t have a headset and want to do it in your browser, you can go to EFF’s map and click on a tower. You’ll see a Street View link when you scroll down. Or you can use those tower coordinates and then go to your VR headset and try to find it.

Madan: What are your thoughts about the Meta Quest headset—formerly known as the Oculus Rift—being founded by Palmer Luckey, who also founded the company that made one of the towers on the tour?

Maass: There’s certainly some irony about using a technology that was championed by Palmer Luckey to shine light on another technology championed by Palmer Luckey. That's not the only tech irony, of course: Wander [the app used for the tour] also depends on using products from Google and Meta, both of whom continue to contribute to the rise of surveillance in society, to investigate surveillance.

Madan: What's your biggest takeaway as the person giving this tour?

Maass: I am a researcher and educator, and an activist and communicator. To me, this is one of the most impactful ways that I can reach people and give them a meaningful experience about the border.

I think that when people are consuming information about the border, they're just getting little snippets from a little particular area. You know, it's always a little place that they're getting a little sliver of what's going on.

But when we're able to do this with VR, I'm able to take them everywhere. I'm able to take them to both sides of the border. We're able to see a whole lot, and they're able to come away by the end of it, feeling like they were there. Like your brain starts filling in the blanks. People get this experience that they wouldn't be able to get any other way.

Being able to linger over these spaces on my own time showed me just how much surveillance is truly embedded in people's daily lives. When I left the library, I found myself inspecting traffic cones for license plate readers.

As I continue to investigate border surveillance, this experience really showed me just how educational these tools can be for academics, research and journalism.

Biden-Trump make dueling border visits as immigration dominates 2024 race

By Aditi Sangal , Elise Hammond and Michael Williams, CNN

Catch up: Trump and Biden point fingers at each other over immigration during visits to the border

From CNN staff

Former President Donald Trump walks at Shelby Park during a visit to the US-Mexico border on Thursday in Eagle Pass, Texas.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump had a split-screen moment during dual trips to the border on Thursday.

The likely frontrunners for their respective party's nomination in 2024 were about 300 miles apart in Texas — Biden was in Brownsville and Trump visited Eagle Pass. Immigration has dominated the early part of the 2024 campaign and both candidates have pointed a finger at the other on the issue.

President Joe Biden, second from the right, looks over the southern border on Thursday in Brownsville, Texas.

Both Trump and Biden got tours of the border and met with local officials during their visits.

Here's what else happened:

  • What Trump is saying: The former president has made Biden's handling of illegal immigration a centerpiece of his reelection effort. He has also vowed to conduct the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history” if he wins the White House in November. Trump continued those attacks during remarks at the border, stoking fears about migrants and crime and blaming it on Biden. He praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has tried to implement a new controversial security initiative.
  • What Biden is saying: The president's trip came as he considers sweeping executive action  to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum if they crossed illegally. Biden has repeatedly lambasted congressional Republicans for failing to pass a bipartisan compromise spending package that included significant concessions on border policy. Bipartisanship was a big theme of his remarks. He urged the Senate to reconsider the package and asked Trump to "join" him in finding an immigration solution.
  • About this bipartisan deal: The deal was killed in the Senate earlier this month, largely due to opposition from Trump. It included a new emergency authority that would allow the Homeland Security secretary to shut down the border if certain triggers are met,   raised the legal standard of proof to pass the initial screening for asylum, among other measures.
  • Meanwhile: A federal judge in Texas ruled to suspend enforcement of a controversial law that would allow state law enforcement agents to arrest and detain people they suspect of entering the country illegally. Without action from the court, the law was set to go into effect on Tuesday.

Community activists speak out against Trump and Texas governor's immigration policies

From CNN's Catherine Shoichet

Eagle Pass resident Jessie Fuentes didn’t mince words as he spoke with reporters Thursday morning hours before former President Donald Trump and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott arrived in the border city.

“Mr. Trump, what you’re doing is you’re hurting the people that need the most help. Our community, if you were studying the demographics, it’s not easy being on the border. And this unwanted attention, this unwanted militarization of our community, is not welcome,” Fuentes said. “You are not welcome here, gentlemen. You’re not welcome in this community.”

Fuentes was among several community organizers and advocates who shared their views on different facets of their city Thursday morning.

Abbott announced plans to build an  80-acre base to house up to 1,800 Texas National Guard  members near Eagle Pass. Trump, who is visiting with the governor, said he would enact a widespread expansion of his administration’s immigration policies that would restrict both legal and illegal immigration if he wins back the White House in November.

Amerika Garcia Grewal told reporters she feared what she’s seen happening in Eagle Pass could happen across the United States if more isn’t done to stop it. She described seeing shipping containers and concertina wire placed along the city’s river banks and encircling the community’s golf course.

“I love Eagle Pass, and I hate that we’re being made an example of,” she said. “We must say hate has no home here, otherwise it’s just going to get worse.”

Trump stokes fears about migrants and crime during border visit

From CNN's Kate Sullivan

Former President Donald Trump visits the US-Mexico border at Eagle Pass, Texas, as seen from Piedras Negras, Mexico, on February 29.

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday stoked fears about migrants coming into the United States as railed against President Joe Biden and his border policies as he stood feet from the US-Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Trump attempted to tie crime in the US to recent increases in immigration — what he calls it “migrant crime” — despite there being  little evidence indicating a connection between immigration and crime . Many researchers actually argue immigrants are less likely to commit crimes.

The former president said he spoke on Wednesday to the parents of 22-year-old Laken Riley , who was found dead after jogging on the University of Georgia campus. Trump has repeatedly invoked Riley’s death as he pushes for his hardline immigration policies because her suspected killer is an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela.

“These are the people that are coming into our country, and they're coming from jails and they're coming from prisons and they're coming from mental institution and they're coming from insane asylums and they're terrorists. They're being led into our country. And it's horrible,” Trump said as he repeated the typical anti-immigrant rhetoric he uses on the campaign trail.

The former president praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has tried to implement a new controversial security initiative. The US Supreme Court recently allowed US Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire deployed by Abbott’s initiative at the US-Mexico border while the state’s legal challenge to the practice plays out.

Trump’s trip to the border comes not long after Trump torpedoed a bipartisan border bill so he could continue campaigning on Biden’s perceived weakness on the border.

Biden calls on lawmakers to reconsider bipartisan border deal that was killed in the Senate this month

President Joe Biden speaks during his visit to the US-Mexico border in Brownsville, Texas, on February 29.

President Joe Biden is urging lawmakers to reconsider a bipartisan border package that was killed in the Senate earlier this month, in large part due to opposition from the GOP frontrunner, Donald Trump.

“The US Senate needs to reconsider this bill and those senators who oppose it need to set politics aside and pass it on the merits not on whether it's going to benefit one party or benefit the other party," Biden said in remarks during a trip to the US-Mexico border on Thursday.

The president emphasized that the deal was on its way to being passed when it was derailed by "partisan politics." He said compromise is a very positive step in tackling immigration — an issue that has been at the forefront of the presidential primary elections.

"We need to act. It's time for the speaker and some of my Republican friends in Congress who are blocking this bill to show a little spine," Biden said, reminding the crowd that conservative leaders also supported the deal.

Biden to Trump: "Join me" on immigration reform

From CNN's Michael Williams

President Joe Biden held out an olive branch to his likely 2024 rival as both visited the South Texas border with Mexico on Thursday, urging former President Donald Trump to "join" him in finding an immigration solution.

Biden and Trump toured the border and delivered nearly simultaneous remarks about 300 miles apart in South Texas Thursday.

"So here's what I would say to Mr. Trump," Biden said during his remarks in Brownsville. "Set a planned policy position instead of telling members of Congress to block this legislation."

A bipartisan border agreement showed promise before Trump came out against it in an apparent effort to use immigration as a wedge against Biden in his upcoming campaign to retake his office.

"Join me, or I'll join you in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill," Biden said, addressing Trump directly.

"We can do it together," he added.

It's "long past time to act" on immigration, Biden says in border remarks

President Joe Biden speaks following a visit to the US-Mexico border on Thursday in Texas.

Immigration and asylum authorities “desperately need more resources,” President Joe Biden said during remarks from the US-Mexico border, adding it was “long past time to act” on immigration reform.

Biden said, “it’s time to step up, provide them with significantly more personnel and capabilities."

He said the country also needs more immigration judges to address a backlog of asylum cases.

Fact check: Trump again exaggerates about border wall construction

From CNN's Daniel Dale

Former President Donald Trump repeated one of his regular exaggerations on Thursday during a visit to Eagle Pass, Texas, claiming that “571 miles” of border wall were built during his presidency.

Facts First:   Trump’s “571 miles” claim is false, an even greater exaggeration than the  inaccurate “561 miles” and “over 500 miles” claims he has made at other points of his campaign . An  official report by US Customs and Border Protection , written two days after Trump left office and subsequently obtained by CNN’s Priscilla Alvarez, said the total number built under Trump was 458 miles — including both wall built where no barriers had existed before and wall built to replace previous barriers. Trump has sometimes put the figure, more correctly, at “nearly 500 miles.”

Fifty-two of the 458 miles built under Trump were “primary” wall that was built in parts of the border where no barriers previously existed. The rest was 33 miles of “secondary” wall that was built in spots where no barriers previously existed, plus 373 miles of primary and secondary wall that was built to replace previous barriers the federal government says had become “dilapidated and/or outdated.”

NOW: Biden makes remarks in Brownsville after meeting local officials on US-Mexico border

From CNN's Priscilla Alvarez, Kristen Holmes, MJ Lee and Michael Williams

President Joe Biden talks with the US Border Patrol and local officials, as he looks over the southern border on Thursday.

President Joe Biden is now making remarks during his trip to the US-Mexico border on Thursday. He is in Brownsville in South Texas.

The president’s motorcade arrived near the border earlier this afternoon. During his visit, Biden was expected to meet with Customs and Border Patrol agents, law enforcement and local leaders.

It comes as Biden  considers sweeping executive action  to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the US southern border if they crossed illegally. Biden has repeatedly lambasted congressional Republicans for failing to pass a bipartisan compromise spending package that included significant concessions on border policy.

Former President Donald Trump is also visiting the border on Thursday.

Trump blames Biden for border troubles as both tour South Texas

Former President Donald Trump talks near the bank of the Rio Grande River at Shelby Park during a visit to the US-Mexico border on Thursday, February 29, in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Former President Donald Trump harshly criticized President Joe Biden's handling of the border as the likely 2024 rivals take simultaneous tours of South Texas.

"The United States is being overrun by the Biden, migrant crime. It's a new form of vicious violation to our country," Trump said from near the border in Eagle Pass. "It's migrant crime. We call it Biden migrant crime, but that's a little bit long."

At the same time, Biden was receiving a briefing from Department of Homeland Security Officials near the border in Brownsville, about 300 miles away.

Biden is expected to give remarks soon.

"I'm happy to be in the final, but I'm hoping that Jack is doing fine," de Minaur said.

"He has a tremendous talent and hopefully he can recover for the upcoming tournaments.

"It's hard to play when your opponent is not OK physically, but you need to remain focused."

De Minaur won his ninth straight match in Mexico as he became the first defending champion to reach the Acapulco final since Spain's David Ferrer in 2013.

Sixth-seeded Ruud defeated second seed Holger Rune 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second semifinal.
