Opened in 1991 by HM The Queen, The ICC have had the pleasure of hosting a wide variety of events. From their first the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress to the most recent party political conferences, they’ve been constantly ready to deliver successful events at short notice. 

The ICC pride themselves on providing excellent, award-winning facilities and services for conferences, meetings, banquets, seminars and other events. They've the capacity to hold over 250 events a year and welcome over 250,000 visitors annually.

Located in Birmingham, W Midlands, in the heart of the UK around 100 miles from London, they are  part of The NEC Group, which includes The NEC, Resorts World Arena and UtilitaArena Birmingham.

Getting Here

Where we are based

Ikon is located in central Birmingham, in the West Midlands, UK. Birmingham is connected to the rest of the country through national train networks and major motorways, and internationally via Birmingham International Airport.

The gallery is situated in Brindleyplace , off Broad Street, 20 minutes walk from New Street Station. Postcode: B1 2HS

From New Street station walk to Victoria Square, past the Town Hall and in front of the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery onto Centenary Way.

Continue through Centenary Square towards Broad Street with the International Convention Centre (ICC) to your right. Walk up Broad Street and turn right into Oozells Street. Approximately 20 minute journey.

By Public Transport

Train Birmingham’s New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street stations are all within a 25 minute walk of Ikon Gallery. Train times are available from the  National Rail  website.

Bus Ikon is accessible by bus from most areas of the city. For details of times and routes visit Transport for West Midlands .

Tram The nearest tram stop is Broad Street , which is a 2 minute walk from Ikon Gallery.

Canal The closest moorings to Ikon are at  Sherbourne Wharf . Take the steps or pathway up to Brindleyplace and follow the directional signs.

Air From Birmingham International airport, use the airport shuttle to Birmingham International train station, then take one of the regular trains to Birmingham New Street Station. Ikon is approximately 20 minutes walk from New Street or a short taxi journey.

Ikon is easily accessible for cyclists by road or the local canal network. There is a bicycle rack near Ikon. Bikes can be hired in Brindleyplace, including one of only four Brompton bike hire docks within the city centre.

We encourage visitors to use public transport wherever possible. If driving by car, Birmingham operates a Clean Air Zone .

Birmingham is accessible by the M5, M6, M40 and M42 motorways. Drivers should follow signs to Birmingham City Centre and then look for the brown tourist signs to the International Convention Centre, Utilita Arena, Canals and Brindleyplace. The postcode for Ikon Gallery is B1 2HS.

Parking The nearest car park is Q-Park Brindleyplace on Brunswick Street. For a 10% discount pre-book and quote IKON at q-park.co.uk, Q-Park have also kindly agreed to make a 10% donation to Ikon for each booking made. Deliveries & Collections Small parcels can be delivered to Ikon’s Reception desk. For larger deliveries or collections, Ikon’s loading bay is located within the barrier-controlled Brindleyplace service yard, off Broad Street. Please note a partial one-way system is in operation on Broad Street which can be entered via Gas Street and exited via Berkely Street. what3words location .

ICC announces release of additional tickets for T20 World Cup: Here's how to get them

The International Cricket Council has announced the release of additional tickets and hospitality packages for the upcoming Men's T20 Cricket World Cup in the United States and West Indies.

The additional tickets and hospitality packages will be available to purchase on the official T20 website starting at 9 a.m. EST / 10 a.m. Antigua Standard Time on Tuesday, March 19. Tickets will be available for matches at all nine host locations, including for fixtures where tickets are currently unavailable. However, they will only be available for 51 of the 55 matches.

"Public tickets remain unavailable for four matches, including USA v Canada (Jun 1), India v Pakistan (9 Jun), India v Canada (15 Jun) and the Final in Barbados (Jun 29)," said the ICC in a news release Thursday.

More than 3 million people signed up for tickets during the public ballot that ran earlier this year from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7 and not everyone was able to score tickets through that. The ICC hopes the expansion of the public tickets will allow more supporters to experience the tournament.

“With less than 80 days to the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, this announcement is an emphatic response to the global call from fans to make additional tickets available for matches and we are thrilled to be able to do this, while ensuring that as many people as possible have the opportunity to witness the biggest Carnival of Cricket in person," Tournament Director Fawwaz Baksh said in a statement.

Hospitality program and travel packages

The ICC is also offering a hospitality program for the T20 World Cup, which will also open on March 19 at 9 a.m. EST / 10 a.m. Antigua Standard Time.

"Fans will be able to choose from a range of premium private suites and individual food and beverage packages across the West Indies and all fixtures at Nassau County International Stadium in New York," the ICC said. "Packages for fixtures at Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium and Broward County Stadium will be released at a later date."

Cricket enthusiasts who will be travelling to the venues from different countries also have the option to secure ticket-inclusive travel packages through ICC Travel & Tours and official appointed Official Travel Agents listed on their website.

ICC T20 World Cup general match tickets

General tickets for the 2024 T20 World Cup were available to purchase on first-come-first-serve basis on the tournament website from Feb. 22. While tickets for popular matches sold out almost immediately, there almost 37 matches for which tickets are still available. Ticket prices start at $6 for matches in the West Indies and at $35 for USA venues.

ICC said all stadiums in the event are "divided into different enclosures which have different views of the field of play and may have differing degrees of shade".

What to know about the 2024 T20 World Cup

Fifty-five matches will be played across nine cities – three in the U.S. and six in the Caribbean, according to the I.C.C., with the opening match between Canada and the U.S. to be held on June 1 at Grand Prairie Stadium in the Dallas metro area, and the grand finale on June 29 in Barbados. The semi-finals will take place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

New York City will host the much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India on June 9, according to the schedule released by the ICC.

England enters the year as defending champions, having beaten Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup final in Melbourne. The series will mark U.S., Canada and Uganda's first appearances at a Men's T20 World Cup.

A major cruise line has stopped visits to the private Caribbean resort it operates due to an increase of violence and unrest in the area.

Royal Caribbean announced it was suspending calls at Labadee, its resort on the northern coast of Haiti. The move comes after the U.S. State Department issued an alert for Haiti and advised people not to visit the country. Haiti is at a Level Four travel advisory, alongside countries such as Russia, Syria and Burkina Faso.

“Due to the evolving situation in Haiti, and in an abundance of caution, we’re temporally suspending our visits to Labadee for our entire fleet,” the company said in a prepared statement as reported by Cruiseindustrynews.com. “We continue to monitor and assess the situation with our Global Security & Intelligence Team.”

Neither passengers nor crew have faced violence or threats, the company said.

Several Royal Caribbean ships were set to visit Labadee over the next several days. Instead, those stops will be replaced by a day at sea as well as extra time at a previously scheduled stop in Falmouth, Jamaica. Other ships will visit Nassau, the Bahamas or Perfect Day at CocoCay, another company-owned location.

Haiti is located on the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic sharing the island to the east. The Dominican Republic is under a level 2 advisory with visitors urged to exercise increased caution.

A do-not-travel alert for Haiti was issued in July 2023 for what the State Department described as “kidnapping, crime, civil unrest and poor health care infrastructure.” Later that month, the U.S. ordered all family members of U.S. government employees and non-emergency personnel to leave the country. American government personnel have been limited to only confined areas around the Embassy and are not allowed to walk in Port-au-Prince, use any public transportation, visit banks or ATMs, drive at night or travel between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

While it's unclear exactly how much the original standard India vs. Pakistan tickets went for in the ballot, the cheapest tickets for other matches at USA venues start at $35 (although India vs. Pakistan was most likely more). The only currently available India vs. Pakistan resale tickets on StubHub are $1,258 each. Vivid Seats listings are similarly priced, starting at $1,687.
