  • The player can drain the pool by grinding a specific rail near the pool itself, which can help net the "Invert the High Wire" goal for Vert skaters.
  • If the player jumps into the big cake, another cake rises. If the player hits that one, another one will come. There are 3 different cakes: one that is white, one modelled after the United States flag, and one modelled after the United Kingdom flag. Jumping these cakes are required for the Sweet Temptation, Star Spangled Splatter, and God Save the Cake! gaps respectively.
  • The player can deploy nets and various other extra features by grinding off the wires for the propeller in the museum area, which is also a requirement for the "Trash the Museum" goal.
  • Smashing every glass window in the Atrium initiates an audio exchange between the fake captain and the real captain, after which the real captain will be heard for the rest of the session.

Captain's announcements [ ]

  • "Attention, passengers, the ship-to-shore ferry has arrived. Those leaving for the islands, please proceed to the starboard side shops on the Promenade Deck to board."
  • "For a little R&R, spend some time in the Portside Greenhouse. Let our exotic plants change your state of mind. Please refrain from licking the frogs. Thank you."
  • "Attention passengers, please remember to swing by the Maritime Museum on the Aloha Deck to see our totally nautical collection of fine art and memorabilia, including a 20-foot tall 35-ton propeller blade precariously placed on the ceiling. Don't look up."
  • "Attention, passengers, cake is now being served at the Fiesta Deck at the rear of the ship. Enjoy, and please, try not to make a mess. Thank you."
  • "Attention, passengers, a quick word of caution: Please check the pool for water before jumping in. Face-planting the tiles is strictly prohibited."
  • "Attention, passengers, just wanted to...Hey, what the- Hey, hey, LOOK OUT! ICEBERG! *Laugh* Just kidding. Fear not friends, the only ice in the Caribbean is in your margaritas.
  • "Attention, thrill-seekers, water-skiing is now available on the back of the ship, but please, whatever you do, just don't let go. It'll take an hour to swing around and pick you up when these are shark-infested waters. *Laugh* Uh, ahem, I-I'm not kidding."
  • "Attention passengers, we regret to inform you that topless sunbathing on the upper deck is not allowed. Instead, please feel free to relocate to the Captain's Private Chambers. Thank you."

  • "Attention, those who have little else to live for should think of their fellow passengers before flinging themselves from the top of the ship. The bow of the ship might be a much better place for your attempt, as you will most likely be sucked down in the undertow and never seen again. Thank you."
  • "Seasick passengers, please proceed to the outside railings. We've received numerous complaints from the lower decks. Thank you for your cooperation."
  • "Attention passengers, those who have heard rumors of widespread typhoid epidemic onboard have been misinformed. Nothing to worry about, folks! But if you are feeling in any way ill, please proceed down to the Workers Deck Cabin 103 next to the incinerator for processing- I, um, treatment. Thank you."
  • "Attention all passengers, this is Captain Jennings speaking. On behalf of the crew, I'd like to welcome you aboard the SS Neversoft Skate Cruise. We hope your stay is a pleasant one."

A big air on the left e I'dge of the QP wi I'll get it.

Campbe I'll, Margera, an I'd Rowley

  • From the start point, look up onto the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly in front of you. On the far left, above the railing, hovers a stat point. You can also grab th it's point using the hi I'd I'den HP un I'der the si I'dewalk. When you lan I'd on the higher level, stop an I'd look at the low e I'dges you can grin I'd aroun I'd the area. Grin I'd a I'll the way aroun I'd the curve I'd section, next to the grates on the groun I'd, an I'd the gates wi I'll I'drop open, opening up a HP.
  • Skate a I'll the way to the carwash an I'd make your way to the liquor store. While facing the liquor store, look right an I'd then hea I'd towar I'd the big QP. Launch off the right corner so that you lan I'd on the QP on the broken ra it'se I'd highway above you. The stat point hangs in the between these ramps. You? I'll probably crash, but you? I'll be one point richer.
  • From the start, skate towar I'd the center area, where the big re I'd ba I'lls are. You? I'll see the purple HP to your left. You want to gain spee I'd an I'd grin I'd the lip of the HP closest to the theater. Hit it so that you grin I'd over the street. Have your rail balance stats pumpe I'd for th it's one, because you?re going to have to grin I'd for a long time. If you?re not very goo I'd at grin I'ding, you can always jump onto one of the rooftops along the way for a breather, an I'd then just o I'llie an I'd continue the grin I'd. After you grin I'd across the street, you? I'll grin I'd a le I'dge that takes you up along the top of the theater sign. As th it's e I'dge slopes I'downwar I'd, you? • Another crazy long grin I'd. From the start point, I'drop I'down, turn right, an I'd hea I'd towar I'd the buil I'ding with the low, roun I'd fountain in front of it. Hawk, Koston, Muska, an I'd Thomas

  • From the start point, look up onto the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly in front of you. You get th it's stat point on the way to that roof. To get up they're get some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd up the cable running up from the si I'dewalk imme I'diately to the left of the start point. Just before the e I'dge of the roof you? I'll grin I'd into the point.
  • From the start point, skate I'down the stairs an I'd make a right. Hea I'd a I'll the way over to the buil I'ding near the low, roun I'd fountain. The stat point it's above the mi I'd I'dle of the fountain. Pop a big boneless an I'd you? I'll sail right into it.
  • From the last stat point, make your way towar I'd the far si I'de of the carwash, near the liquor store. With the liquor store I'directly behin I'd you, hea I'd towar I'd the two big QPs across from the si I'de of the carwash. The stat point hovers in the gap between these two QPs. A big air wi I'll get it.
  • After grabbing the last point, lan I'd an I'd stop. Set up so that you?re facing the QPs you just use I'd with the fire tuck towar I'd your left. Gain some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd the lip of the QP to your left. At the en I'd, jump onto the la I'd I'der atop the truck an I'd grin I'd it. As you near the en I'd of the la I'd I'der, jump onto an I'd grin I'd the e I'dge of the buil I'ding so that you?re traveling para I'llel to the street. At the very en I'd of the e I'dge, jump to the right an I'd you? I'll grab the stat point, which s it's near the next roof.
  • Make your way towar I'd the purple HP near the center of the course. You want to gain spee I'd an I'd grin I'd the lip of the HP closest to the theater. Hit it so that you grin I'd towar I'd the street. You? I'll get the last stat point almost as soon as you start grin I'ding.

Glifberg, Mu I'llen, an I'd Steamer

  • The first stat point I? I'll I'describe for these three skaters it's one of the most compli can'te I'd to earn in the game. Not only I'does it involve some complex maneuvering, but it also I'deman I'ds that you cover a lot of groun I'd. From the start point, I'drop I'down the steps, an I'd skate forwar I'd until you are almost un I'der the entrance to the open structure. Look up at the ceiling an I'd you wi I'll see a stat point hovering in a seemingly impossible spot. In or I'der to reach the point, you must first open the grates on the roof of the buil I'ding un I'der which you are stan I'ding. Firstly, hea I'd a I'll the way over to the buil I'ding near the low, roun I'd fountain. Skate past the fountain an I'd break through the glass. Launch straight onto the higher section using the large QP in front of you. The grates back at the beginning wi I'll also open. Hea I'd back to the starting point. Once they're, make your way to the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly across from you. To get up they're gain some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd up the cable running up from the si I'dewalk imme I'diately to the left of the start point. Once you get to the roof, which might entail some grin I'd-jump-grin I'd maneuvering, stop an I'd turn right. You? I'll notice that the grates have I'droppe I'd open an I'd a QP s it's below you. Drop into that QP an I'd o I'llie the gap at the bottom. You? I'll sail over to the base of a QP lea I'ding back up to the roof. You? I'll also gain one stat point in the process.
  • From the start point, skate I'down the stairs an I'd make a right. Hea I'd a I'll the way over to the buil I'ding near the low, roun I'd fountain. Hit the QP slightly past the fountain an I'd to it's left. Launch rightwar I'd so that you lan I'd in the QP on the roof above the glass corri I'dor. Once you lan I'd, stop an I'd turn aroun I'd, so that you?re facing the QP you just lan I'de I'd on. The stat point hangs in the air a bit to the left of the e I'dge of the QP. In or I'der to get it, you want to approach the QP an I'd grin I'd it's lip hea I'ding right. When you get to the e I'dge, which wi I'll be almost imme I'diately, jump straight out of the grin I'd. You? I'll fly right into the stat point.
  • From the start point, look up onto the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly in front of you. You can?t see it yet, but the stat point it's up they're. To get up they're get some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd up the cable running up from the si I'dewalk imme I'diately to the left of the start point. Once you get to the roof, which might entail some grin I'd-jump-grin I'd maneuvering, stop an I'd look straight ahea I'd. The stat point hovers just past the e I'dge of the buil I'ding. Simply o I'llie off the e I'dge an I'd you? I'll can'tch it.
  • In or I'der to get th it's point, you must have alrea I'dy starte I'd the earthquake, because you nee I'd to access the I'destroye I'd section of the elevate I'd highway. After the earthquake, go back to the starting point. You have to get to the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly in front of you. To get up they're get some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd up the cable running up from the si I'dewalk imme I'diately to the left of the start point. Once you get to the roof, which might entail some grin I'd-jump-grin I'd maneuvering, stop an I'd look in the I'd it'stance towar I'd the top of the theater. The stat point it's near they're. Skate I'directly across the roof you?re on an I'd boneless towar I'd the closest section of the I'destroye I'd freeway. When you lan I'd, stay straight an I'd hit the plywoo I'd ramp right in front of you. You? I'll lan I'd on a large, flat roof. The stat point floats between the e I'dge of the roof you?re on an I'd the next one. Just jump an I'd grab it. (Notice that you are practica I'lly at the secret tape I'during th it's process. It?s very easy to grab th it's stat point an I'd grin I'd into the secret tape, ki I'lling two bir I'ds with one stone.)
  • I figure I'd I? I'd save the easy one for last. You?ve pai I'd your I'dues. Skate over to the carwash. Approach the wash from the center of the course, so that the fire engine it's on your left. Just past the QP next to the fire truck, make a left into the short a I'lley. The last stat point floats above th it's QP. A big air wi I'll snag it.

File:Thps3 29.jpg You have to get the earthquake going early because a few goals can?t get accompl it'she I'd without it. It?s very easy, fun to watch, an I'd necessary, so put it at the top of your l it'st. It entails grin I'ding four rails. When I I'describe the rails, make sure you grin I'd most of each one. You can?t simply k it'ss it for it to reg it'ster. When you I'do hit it right, you? I'll see an I'd feel a little tremor. The game wi I'll also give you a text message if you?ve hit one correctly.

  • Western Quake Rail: From the start point, I'drop I'down the stairs an I'd skate I'directly ahea I'd. You? I'll see the entryway lea I'ding un I'der the buil I'ding right across the street. As you are about to skate un I'der the buil I'ding, o I'llie onto an I'd grin I'd the left han I'drail. Grin I'd it to the street an I'd you? I'll get the western tremor.
  • Southern Tremor Rail: When you lan I'd in the street, stop an I'd rotate aroun I'd to the right, so that you?re facing the buil I'ding with the low, roun I'd fountain in front of it. Directly ahea I'd you wi I'll see a group of newspaper machines. A long rail runs behin I'd them an I'd lea I'ds towar I'd the roun I'd fountain. Grin I'd most of th it's rail an I'd you? I'll get the southern tremor.
  • Northern Tremor Rail: Hea I'd back to the start point. You I'don?t have to go a I'll the way back, but you? I'll get a much better picture of th it's rail if I I'describe it as if that were the case. Drop I'down the stairs from the start point. When you get to the street, veer right an I'd skate slowly I'down the street. When you get to the rail on your left that runs para I'llel to the street, o I'llie up an I'd grin I'd it. If you grin I'd the whole thing, you? I'll earn the northern tremor.
  • Eastern Tremor Rail: Again, go back to the starting point ? th it's time it?s actua I'lly easiest if you rea I'lly go a I'll the way back. From they're, veer left an I'd hea I'd towar I'd the two para I'llel rails that run along the si I'de of the buil I'ding whose roof you keep grin I'ding up to. Grin I'd the length of the left rail an I'd you? I'll get the eastern tremor. An I'd if a I'll has gone as planne I'd, then you? I'll have an earthquake on your han I'ds as we I'll.

Block the Car Chase

After having starte I'd the earthquake, hea I'd back towar I'd the starting point an I'd position yourself in your original position. In or I'der to stop the car chase, you nee I'd to get to the broken section of elevate I'd highway, which you?re probably pretty goo I'd at by now. At any rate?

Return to the starting point. You have to get to the roof of the buil I'ding I'directly in front of you. To get up they're get some spee I'd an I'd grin I'd up the cable running up from the si I'dewalk imme I'diately to the left of the start point. Once you get to the roof, which might entail some grin I'd-jump-grin I'd maneuvering, skate I'directly across an I'd boneless towar I'd the closest section of the I'destroye I'd freeway. When you lan I'd on the freeway, turn right an I'd skate along until you reach a car teetering on the right e I'dge. The guy it's insi I'de ye I'lling for help. Jump onto the wa I'll an I'd grin I'd the e I'dge right into the car. You wi I'll I'd it'slo I'dge the auto an I'd sen I'd it fa I'lling to the street below, where it wi I'll lan I'd an I'd stop the car chase.

One Foot Japan the Tower Poppin? Transfer or Varial Kickflip the Tower Rails Gap

One Foot Japan the Tower Poppin? Transfer: Caba I'llero, Glifberg, Hawk, an I'd Lasek From the start point, skate I'down the stairs an I'd make a right. Hea I'd a I'll the way over to the buil I'ding near the low, roun I'd fountain. Just past the fountain you wi I'll see QPs on your left an I'd right. Grinds FS/BS is determined by if you are skating switch and all controls work either way. 50-50 Regular grind with no directional arrows. Links to: Nosegrind(up-triangle) 5-0(down-triangle) Nosebluntslide(up-up-triangle) Bluntslide(down-down-triangle) Nosegrind Up-Triangle Links to: Nosebluntslide(up-up-triangle) Noseslide(square-square) Overcrook(circle-circle) 5-0 Down-Triangle Links to: Bluntslide(down-down-triangle) Tailslide(square-square) Feeble(circle-circle) Nosebluntslide Up-Up-Triangle Links to: Crooked(up-down-triangle) Noseslide(square-square) Overcrook(circle-circle) Bluntslide Down-Down-Triangle Links to: Smith(down-up-triangle) Tailslide(square-square) Feeble(circle-circle) Noseslide Left-Triangle Links to: Nosebluntslide(up-up-triangle) Overcrook(circle-circle) Tailslide Right-Triangle Links to: Bluntslide(down-down-triangle) Feeble(circle-circle) Overcrook Up/Left-Triangle Links to: Nosebluntslide(up-up-triangle) Noseslide(square-square) Crooked Up/Right-Triangle Links to: Nosebluntslide(up-up-triangle) Noseslide(square-square) Overcrook(circle-circle) Feeble Down/Left-Triangle Links to: Bluntslide(down-down-triangle) Tailslide(square-square) Smith Down/Right-Triangle Links to: Bluntslide(down-down-triangle) Tailslide(square-square) Feeble(circle-circle) Boardslide/Lipslide Hit the rail sideways Can't be linked 3a. Hidden Combo! Chains To perform a hidden combo, press the controls for the next grind without jumping. All combos can be done without your special meter full, but will fill it up immediatley. If you want to have every grind in your chain, you should begin with a 50-50 and then move to a Nosegrind or 5-0. These are the only grinds that can't be looped back to. So if you don't put them in the beginning, you can't have them at all. While grinding, loop through Nosebluntslide-Crooked-Noseslide-Overcrook in any order, if you're on your nose, or Bluntslide-Smith-Tailslide-Feeble in any order, if you're on your tail. Cheap Combo: In any grind besides boardslide or 50-50 repeatedly switch between hitting circle-circle and square-square. You can rack up decent points but at the loss of style. Ex: 50-50 + Nosegrind + Nosebluntslide + Crooked + Noseslide + Overcrook + Nosebluntslide + Crooked + . . . + Ex: 50-50 + 5-0 + Bluntslide + Smith + Tailslide + Feeble + Bluntslide + Smith + . . . + 4. Lip Tricks Perform a lip trick by riding up to the edge of a quarterpipe straight on and pressing triangle. By pressing a directional button with triangle, you can perform various lip tricks. There are 15 regular and 8 special lip tricks you can perform. The regular lip tricks are performed with one directional button push and triangle. The special lip tricks are performed with two presses of a directional button. Edit your tricks to the trick you want and how to control it. 4a. Linking Lips There are two ways to link lip tricks. You can perform an ollie and before coming back down enter another lip trick and you will land back on the edge in the new trick. You can also link to other tricks without using an ollie. While holding a trick(besides Inverts), press: right-right-triangle for an Axel Stall left-left-triangle for a Boneless left-right-triangle for a Disaster If you are in an Invert lip trick, press: right-right-triangle for an Invert left-left-triangle for an One Foot Invert left-right-triangle for a Gymnast Plant right-left-triangle for a Varial Invert to Fakie 5. Manuals Manuals are essential to keep your combo going and rack up the points. Press either up-down, or down-up to perform a manual or nose manual. You can press the controls while skating on the ground, or in the air, pulling the manual when you land. If you press either L2 or R2 while manualing, you will perform a pivot. A pivot spins your character around 180 degrees. The pivot is best used to add to your multiplyer, but also adds that extra style. 6. Flatland Tricks Flatland tricks are special manuals you can do that add extra points to your score, but more importantly, add extra style. All characters can perform everyone else's particular flatland tricks with the exception of Demoness' Going Home. First thing you need to do is set your characters special tricks. Make sure your character has at least one special manual. Set the controls to something comfortable to you. When your special meter is full, perform your special manual. Keep an eye on your balance meter. 6a. Hidden Combos! You cannot combo out of all manuals so try out the one you chose. Perform the special manual with special meter full. From any special manual you can combo into a: Truckstand(right-right-triangle) To Rail(left-left-triangle) Casper(right-left-triangle) Anti-Casper(left-right-triangle) Handstand(right-right-circle) While in any of these tricks but the Anti-Casper, pressing left-square will flip the board. While in a Truckstand, performing another Truckstand will do a Truckspin. Ex: Reemo Slide + Casper(right-left-triangle) + Casper Flip(left- square) + To Rail(left-left-triangle) + Rail Flip(left-square) + Truckstand(right-right-triangle) + Truckflip(right-right-triangle) + Handstand(right-right-circle). Don't forget to throw in a few pivots for extra flair. 7. Revert I can't stress enough the importance of the revert/manual. I have people bragging to me online, "I am a master at Tony Hawk, all I need to do is learn how to manual." You are a master of nothing without the revert/manual. To revert press R2 or L2 as you land. This performs a quick spin. During this spin you can perform any trick to keep your combo going. Revert on nearly every landing. Even if you don't plan on continuing your combo, by using the revert, the landings are more forgiving. You can land at terrible angles and hold grabs until the second you revert, without bailing. 8. Levels Foundry Sick Score Suggestion - 60,000: This score is neither high nor hard. In the halfpipe, do a few spinning flip/grab tricks, followed by a revert/manual, and then another spinning flip/grab trick. Three of these will give you the score. Tape Location: As you start the level, turn slightly right and use the lip to jump up to the catwalk. Ride the catwalk up to the glass room. Face right and line yourself up with the metal rafter in the center. Jump through the glass and grind on the rafter to reach the tape. Secret Area: Complete the level goal of unjamming 5 valves by grinding all five of the pipes sticking out of the wall around the level. They will be lit red until you un-jam them and the light turns blue. This opens up the generator core behind the starting point. Canada Sick Score Suggestion - 120,000: Grind up and down the two long rails found at the end of the parking lot, picking up the Parking Lot Mini Gap. Manual from each end of the rail up the vert and perform a spinning flip/grab trick. Revert/manual back onto the rail and repeat on the other side. With special grinds you get the sick score in two passes. Tape Location: On the furthest wooden walkway behind the starting point, grind the rail next to the box with the on off switch. This will raise the halfpipe at the end of the walkway. Transfer up to the raised halfpipe and then transfer across to the higher level. Ride to the end and jump across the gap. At the top is the mine car rails. Gring the right side of the rail and you will be brought to the tape. Rio Gold Medal Suggestion: 170,000 should get you the gold medal. Grind around the rails and short walls circling around the level, picking up many gap bonuses. Secret Location: On the left-hand wall of the level, break through the wooden fence between two buildings. There will be a pool and the hidden deck for all characters in this new area. Suburbia Sick Score Suggestion - 200,000: Do good tricks. Use the pools and the halfpipes. Special/revert/manual - special/revert/manual. Tape Location: Open secret area(see below). Ride through the house and transfer over to the right. Use the high vert on the back wall to gain speed then transfer up into the houses upstairs window. Watch out for the bats as you ride out the other window. Grind the rail outside the window to get the tape. Secret Area: Find the thin man's key in the construction area on the 2x4's. Bring him his key and he will open up a new area. Airport Sick Score Suggestion - 300,000: In the baggage claim area, grind up then down an escalator. Jump to the next rail and continue picking up the Claim Hop! all the way around to the next escalator, grinding up then down, and back to the Claim Hop! You can easily pick up a million- point trick set here. Tape Location: Travel to the end of the level and turn right. Use the last ramped wall to get air and hang over to the right. Hold triangle to land on the highest rail. Ride the rail around to the tape. Secret Area: Jump the ticket counter to the right of the starting point and enter the baggage X-ray. Skaters Island Gold Medal Suggestion: About 170,000 should get you the gold medal. Use the huge halfpipe, picking up the roll in gap on one side, and revert manualing every landing till you can't manual no more. Secret Area: Grind the black pirates flag near the left wall of the level, between the high vert and the pools. This will open an outside area with a pirate ship, also containing an elusive stat point. If you look out into the ocean, you can see a hint of secrets to come. Los Angeles Sick Score Suggestion - 400,000: Head down the NorthernTremor rail to the halfpipe between the twin towers with the Tower Poppin' gap. Perform a special trick on one side of the pipe, revert/manual to the other side, perform a spinning flip/grab trick, then revert/manual to the small circle fountain. Perform a special grind around the circle as long as you can. You can easily get at least 200,000 each time. Tape location: 1) Use the car wash to get up to the broken freeway, ride to the end. 2) Use the quarterpipe behind the starting point to gain speed and grind up the wire to get to the top of the building, jump to the freeway. Use the wooden planks to get up to the building's platform. Jump the gap to the pink roof. Face right and ride out onto the narrow ledge, jumping across to grind on the pipe to the tape. Start the Earthquake: You need to grind the whole length of all four east/west/north/south tremor rails to set off the earthquake. The rails are all located around the building immediately in front of the starting point. The westerntremor rail is under the arch through the middle of the building, on the left-hand side. The southerntremor rail is bordering the sidewalk on the far side of the building. The northentremor rail is bordering the sidewalk on the near side of the building off to it's right. The easterntremor rail is the rail on the left of the two rails running down the left side of the building. Tokyo Gold Medal Suggestion: 200,000 can get you a gold medal. Try grinding around repeatedly on the inner rail of the walkway in the middle of the level, pulling multiple specials. Or hit the pools and special/revert/manual - special/revert/manual. Secret Area: In the middle of the left hand wall there is a circular blue sign with red writing on it. You need to grind on top of this sign, breaking the wires holding it up, and crashing it into the perimeter wall behind it. To get up to the sign can take a couple tries. First get up on top of the starting deck. The are other ways but the easiest is to start from the far right back pool. Use the left side of the pool to pick up speed and ollie off the right side of the pool, over to the right, landing on the red sign. Grind the sign to the wire with the hanging lanterns, and grind this wire all the way to the next roof. Grind off this roof onto the proceeding wire and you will be on top of the starting deck. Stop and catch your breath on this deck, while lining your self up to the opposite wire that faces the yellow sign on the left wall of the level. Grind this wire to the yellow sign, then grind the bottom edge of the sign. Ollie off the yellow sign and wall ride on the blue. Wallie off the face of the blue to grind on the top of the blue. Ollie off the top of the blue and wall ride on the face of the red. Wallie off the face of the red and grind the top of the red. You will grind up and over the circular sign, opening the secret area. Don't forget to pick up the stat icon on top of the broken fallen down circular sign. Cruise Ship Sick Score Suggestions - 500,000: Drain the pool by grinding the low white rail next to the red tower near the pool. Use the pool to pull specials, revert/manualing on every landing. Grind around the pool's edge picking up the Pop the Notch gap over the slide entrance. You can pick up many +ped props from the scantily clad women watching you skate. Tape Location: Use one of the two ramps you ride down at the start to jump up to the highest wire above them. Grind this wire around to the high wire and ride it all the way across to the red tower. Use the halfpipe to reach the high-flying tape on the left side. *Complete a full run on the cruise ship and let the ship sail on the all goals complete screen. After about 5 minutes the captain will once again forget to turn off the mic and you will hear what the Neversoft girls are really used for on the ship. 8a. THPS2 veterans must get used to looking at the meter instead of looking at the character when they grind. You can perform Truckstands, To Rail, Casper, Anti-Casper, and Handstands without having them use up one of your special trick slots, so don't choose these as one of your special moves. Put all your special grinds on down-up up-down combinations. Everytime you are in the air press down-up/up-down and hold triangle. You can hit a rail and pull a special, or even if you miss the rail, your combo will continue with a manual. In career mode, you first objective on each level should be the stat icons. Each one you pick up will make completing the goals easier. Revert/Manual Revert/Manual Revert! 11. Credits So far all of this information has come out of my own playing time. Now you can skate with your friends!

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is a skateboard stunt riding game developed by Neversoft and published by Activision (under their Activision o2 label) for the PlayStation 2 (on October 28, 2001), GameCube (on November 18, 2001 as a launch title ), and Xbox (on March 4, 2002).

The third installment of the long-running Tony Hawk franchise and the sequel to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 , Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 adds a new roster of skaters and new trick types (including the "revert" , a trick that can be executed to continue a Vert combo chain once the skater hits the ground). Career Mode has been updated (removing the currency system from THPS2) while the PS2 and GC versions support online multiplayer for up to four players.

The game was ported to the PlayStation in October 29, 2001 (by Shaba Games ), PC in March 28, 2002 (by Gearbox ), Nintendo 64 in August 20, 2002 (by Edge of Reality as the last official release for the system ), and Mac in January 2003 (by Gearbox). The PS1 and N64 versions run on a slightly-modified version of the engine used in THPS2, changing the levels to fit the memory capacity. Handheld versions were released on both the Game Boy Color on November 15, 2001 (developed by HotGen ) and the Game Boy Advance on March 4, 2002 (developed by Vicarious Visions ), both of which are played in a 2D isometric viewpoint .

Like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, this game features crossover characters from different franchises as playable skaters. Darth Maul (a Sith apprentice from the Star Wars franchise), Wolverine (a superhero from the X-Men franchise), and Kelly Slater (a surfer from Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer ) are included as hidden unlockable skaters. The PC version of the game features Doom from Quake III: Arena (as Doom Guy).

Some of the levels were later released as downloadable content in the 2012 downloadable game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD (for the Xbox 360 , PlayStation 3 , and PC ).

The revert is a move that allows players to link vert tricks into a new or in-progress combo . It is a flatland trick that is performed immediately when landing off of a vert surface like a quarter-pipe or pool lip. The more times it is used in a single combo, the slower the player's speed will be when exiting the revert. To link vert tricks into a combo, a manual must be performed immediately after the revert animation.

Open Environments

Despite Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 featuring large, open-ended levels, THPS3 used it's current generation of systems' power to its advantage and brought the large-scale environments to life. Areas were now filled with NPC s, moving cars that would stop at obstacles, complex animated objects and real-time level shifting. Every level in THPS3 features a large or minor-scale change that can be triggered through the player's actions and either unlocks a previously hidden area or completely changes a part of the level altogether. These could either be part of a level goal or simply a hidden secret for the player to discover.

Trick Modifiers

One other major addition to the game was the Trick Modifier system. This is a system that has been with the franchise since, although being refined in THPS4 and perfected in Tony Hawk's Underground. The trick modifier system are "Hidden moves" that can be performed by actions on the face buttons. For example, hitting the button combination for a kickflip while hitting the flip trick button twice will perform a Double Kickflip. Hitting it three times will perform a Triple Kickflip. Though THPS3 refers to them as Hidden Moves (An on-screen pop-up appears with a bonus score being awarded), they have become the standard in the series for performing modified versions of standard tricks.

Network Play

A breakthrough addition to the series is the addition of online multiplayer . This would later be refined in later entries of the franchise but the base concept remains the same. The game allows for up to 4 players in one lobby and drops them in a Free Skate session. The host then decides which game type will be played. The various game types can be found below. Players could either play through a Broadband connection or, on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, a dial-up connection.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 features a wide variety of game modes thanks to the addition of Network Play. Some new, some returning from past entries.

Single-player Modes

Career mode.

The same as it's always been in the series. The player is given a list of goals within a level and a two-minute timer to complete them. The level can be retried multiple times to complete the goals. Completing goals unlocks more levels until the last competition level is beaten. A few changes have been made to the Career Mode in THPS3, however. They are:

  • Cash is no longer required to progress within the career mode. The collectible is entirely gone from the game.
  • Stat points are no longer purchased but are, instead, hidden inside levels as collectibles. There are 5 per level. Collecting one lets you assign one stat point wherever the player wishes to.
  • Decks are no longer purchased but are collected. One "Deck" collectible is hidden in each level and collecting it unlocks one deck for the selected pro skater.
  • Collect S-K-A-T-E is now different depending on the selected pro skater. Street skaters will have their letters on lower, more technical areas of the level while vert skaters will have them on more vert/gap oriented areas. All-around skaters will have a mixture of both.
  • Skater-specific goals. Much like the Collect S-K-A-T-E separation, certain level-based objectives will be dependent on the selected skater's specialty.

Single Session

Gives the players a two-minute timer without goals to set high scores.

Allows the player to freely roam levels, find gaps and search for secrets .

Multiplayer Modes

Both players compete in the level against the clock to capture as much territory as possible. Performing a trick on an object will paint it the player's color and painting as much of the level as possible is the objective. Players can re-capture an object by scoring higher than the previous player's object score.

Trick Attack

Players compete against each other to score the highest. The player with the highest score when the timer runs out wins.

Pits players against each other to see who can pull off the best trick sequence. Players have 10 second turns and start at key points within each map. When one player pulls of his trick, the next player must score higher. This keeps going until one of the players screws up, getting the first letter of HORSE (Or a custom word chosen at the beginning of the game).

Slap! requires players to skate around and, quite literally, slap each other the most. Simply running into each other causes players to slap each other, though the fastest one will come out the victor. The other will bail and fall to the floor. The player with the highest amount of slaps at the end of the timer wins.

King of the Hill

King of the Hill places a floating crown in the level. When a player collects it, it appears over his head and he must hold onto it the longest. If another player rams into him, he gains control of the crown. The objective is to hold the crown the longest, hitting preset timer scores.

The Foundry is a level set in, wait for it, metal foundry. It features multiple stories, catwalks and large jumps and pipes. The level has a large set of metal, ceiling-suspended catwalks, girders, pipes and airborne rails that can be grinded as well as a large cauldron. The cauldron is the level's destructible object. When grinding the top of a nearby control booth, the bucket flips over itself and falls into the cauldron, creating a rail-based jump gap. There are also other heightened ledges and platforms, a large sunken quarter pipe and an electricity turbine that can be entered when complete a Career objective named "Un-jam the 5 Valves".

Canada is one of the game's larger levels, featuring extremely open areas that form both an outdoor park and skatepark. Part of the level is a parking lot featuring a handful of jumps and rails, a skatepark featuring a set of massive bowls, quarter pipes and half-pipes as well as a amerindian totem pole that totally isn't a stereotype at all. Next to the skatepark is a forested area featuring a wood-build catwalk that circles through trees above a set of quarter pipes and directly next to that area is an above-ground/water platform. The platform is on two levels, the first level being a simple plank board leading up to a quarter pipe. A canadian man peeing in the water stands at the top of the QP. A switch nearby activates access to the upper-level that leads to a wooden tube-like pipe slanted down from a mountain-track mining-cart rail. The rail leads to nowhere. The level's destructive element is quite banal, simply being the ability to knock the head off of the totem pole.

Rio is the first of three competition levels. Like previous games, a one-minute timer is given to three rounds. The score from the best two out of three rounds is tallied and the skater with the highest score wins the gold. The level itself is set in a high-mountain area of Rio. The O Cristo Redentor statue is visible from the level. The level itself is generally comprised of bowls, quarter-pipes and half-pipes. A series of ledges, wires and rails circle the level that provide, to skilled players, an opportunity to pull-off a near-infinite combo. There's a hidden backyard pool and ledges that can be grinded on nearby houses. The destructible object in the level is a wooden platform that is supported by a ladder. When the ladder is hit by the player, it collapses and turns into two ledges that add to the infinte combo mentioned above.

Suburbia is located in a neighborhood cul-de-sac and is split into 4 distinct areas. The first is the Trailer Park . It features a large, wooden half-pipe and sits next to trailer homes. The trailer homes have wooden planks and ramps next to/on them allowing them to be used as jumps and/or platforms. The trailer park area is also surrounded by a wooden quarter-pipe that sticks to the location's fence. The second area is the family homes. There are two. The first is a two-storey house that has a large, empty underground pool and is surrounded by a grindable fence. The second is a large, upper-class home. It has an accessible driveway, a green Jeep Wrangler parked in the driveway and has a backyard entirely covered in quarter-pipes. The third area is an under-construction home. The house also has a pool in it's backyard and is basically a large, wooden skeleton that can be grinded. Here is where you find an axe, needed to access the fourth area: the Haunted House. The haunted house is boarded-up. There is a Career Mode goal where a man will chop down the boards when given an axe. Doing this unlocks the house's backyard that is filled with quarter-pipes. The area instantly turns dark when you enter it and there are a number of zombie hands that burst out of the ground. The player can then jump into the house to find "spooky" hidden secrets.

Airport is a level that is akin to the Downhill Jam and Mall levels from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater . Like those levels, Airport is built in a single straight line that leads to a dead end. Unlike those levels, the level doesn't end when reaching the bottom. The level consists of four floors. The first floor is where the baggage room, helipad and main corridor are. The corridor has a automated walkway and access to bathroom facilities. The baggage room is exactly what it sounds like. It can be accessed through the helipad, which can be accessed from the baggage claim counter at the start of the level. The second level consists of another walkway, metal detectors and more bathrooms. The third level drops down from a large escalator and consists of a series of benches, a large half-pipe and a giant, window-walled atrium. The atrium contains a series of rails that support 10 flags. The fourth level is underneath the end of the level. Players can drop down to a level below the atrium where there are a numerous amount of baggage carts, quarter-pipes and ramps.

Skater Island is the second competition level. It was a real-world skatepark located in Rhode Island, USA. In May, 2004, the part closed due to the roof collapsing. It features a large half-pipe, two wooden bowls and a stretch of street funboxes and rails. The level also features two outdoor areas. The first can be accessed through a door at the end of the level that leads to an exterior funbox and a selection of rails. The second area can be accessed by grinding a pirate flag found in the level. A pirate ship outside the level blows cannons into the wall and creates a path to the ship. The ship has a selection of quarter-pipes and ramps. The blown wall is this level's destructible element.

Los Angeles is one of the biggest level of the entire game. It is split into 6 different areas. The first, the level's start point, is the Complex. It is near a high-raised area that leads directly to the Complex building. The building has a series of planters that can be grinded or aired over as a gap and is directly next to two large staircases. There is a wire that leads up to the top of the building onto it's roof. This area leads directly into the second area, the streets.

The streets circle around the level, near the movie theatre, the inset building, the fire truck and the Car Wash. In the middle of the level is the third area, the Art Park. The park holds weird, stupid post-modern sculptures that act as half-pipes, tunnels and quarter-pipes. Next to this area is the Car Wash, the fourth area. The car wash can be entered (for no reason) and has ramp-like walls. It's rooftop has a half-pipe and the area surrounding the car wash is walled in quarter-pipes. Directly next to this area is the Apartment Buildings, the fifth area. It has a large fountain, a rooftop half-pipe and a raised area featuring a host of ledges. There is a hidden, underground half-pipe here. The sixth and final area can be accessed through the roof in the first area. It's the over-head highway. At the start of the level, the highway is inaccessible since cars pass too fast to allow players to cross it. The level's destructible element is the trigger of a massive earthquake that wrecks most of the level. This causes the highway to break into several sections, allowing the player to access and cross it.

Tokyo is the third and final competition level. It is set at night in a large, enclosed, Shibuya-like area of Japan. It features a lot of vert bowls, half-pipes and quarter pipes. Most of it's edges are lined in neon and there are a few arc-shaped rails and overhead walkways. Tokyo features an incredible amount of hidden areas. Glass windows, electronic billboards and overhead half-pipes all decorate the level as secret areas. There's an airborne blimp that floats in the sky that supports a suspended, holographic-like platform that makes cool computer noises when riding on it. Tokyo is arguably the most visually impressive level of the game.

Cruise Ship is an unlockable, technically secret, level. However, it features actual Career Mode goals. The ship itself features an upper deck with a pool and water-slide. The lower level has a party deck with patio chairs and tables along with a large, oversized wedding cake. The lowest level is the side of the ship which features a vegetation atrium, the front of the ship that has a perfect, Titanic-esque point and is filled with ramps and quarter-pipes as well as a museum dedicated to the ship. The side opposite of the atrium is a hallway with doors to cabins and rescue boats. The player can jump off the ship but will fall into a hazard and respawn on the boat.

Secret Levels

Warehouse is situated in a dark warehouse and features a hill drop, walls decked with quarter-pipes, a boxed-up taxi cab and a large half-pipe sitting underneath a glass-walled overhang.

Burnside is located underneath a highway and is a replica of an actual skatepark . It features a variety of vert structures such as bowls, quarter pipes and snake bowl-like areas. It is the second competition level.

Roswell is situated in a dark, enclosed area of (presumably) Area 51 and features a wide selection of half-pipes, quarter-pipes, rails and bowls. One of it's bowls rests on top of a missile silo and a secret area can be opened to find an alien in captivity.

There's actually another way to hit the gap that is pretty easy to set up. Grind the long edge of the pool back towards the starting area and jump off straight before it curves. You should be heading straight for a large quarter pipe and running directly underneath the wire, so no directional input is required.
