The only Irish thing about this place is the name - fortunately, since who wants Irish food in France? Went twice, once for lunch with colleagues, where I had a good and very rich goulash (not showing much resemblance to the genuine article, but very... tasty in its own right); then again the following night for dinner in a group of 45 people. (I didn't know on the first day that the dinner would be there the second day!). That time I had the steak tartare, which was excellent. Everybody else at my table also enjoyed their meals - another steak tartare, a pizza, a magret de canard, and a calzone pizza. I get the feeling the traditional French food may be a better bet than the burgers, from the other reviews, but don't have experience. The kitchen and servers are extremely efficient - with 45 people, all choosing freely from the standard menu, everybody got their main within 45 mins or so, and was done within 2 hours. And of course there were dozens of regular clients there too. They can handle everybody in a large group paying separately, too. More

Nothing fancy but really nice burger, well cooked (medium) and lovely chips. Chicken burger highly rated too. Menu is fairly basic with more drink options than food options but came out quickly and service was prompt and professional. A great option for tourists. Reasonably priced... and right in the main square. Lots of seating so no waiting but still popular. More

it was a change. We ordered saint jacques which are scallops. I did not see scallops on too many menus here in Tours, It was cool to finally order them here. We came here to settle for burger or fries, so it was nice to... still get seafood in. More

Rush rush rush. Seem to have an ethos of get them in get them out. Abrupt waiter just because we asked for water. Asked the same waiter was the wine Sauvignon Blanc. He said it was it was actually Chenin Blanc. Just poured without letting... us taste. The food was a bit too quick and arrived soon after we ordered and was a plate of grease. As we say in Ireland the place was a “Kip” It’s not often we don’t tip and only in extreme cases. This was one of them. The staff were not worthy of a tip. Save your money and eat at Mx Donald’s instead. More

Great brasserie, recently been refurbished into a more modern style whilst still keeping the memorabilia and sport decorations, A great place for drinks and food with friends. Friendly staff speaking multiple languages. Large inside and out dining areas.

We walked into the small cafe and restaurant filled square and were just looking around and enjoying the view of Tours oldest District. Before we know it this tough/rugged looking man stepped into our path about 10 paces out in front of us. He turned... and eyed us. He was tough, rugged, and was almost rugby built. He had a long black polo and a flour covered apron hanging over his jeans. He had a tooth pick in his mouth and he just glared at us. Retrieving the tooth pick from his mouth he then pointed at our trio. Moving his hand from right to left he pointed at each of us like he was counting.None of us spoke very good french, and I had heard about the french before I came. I was told that they didn't care for Americans much, and that at any chance they would treat us with disregard for not knowing their perfect language. But why was he glaring at us? Am i breaking some social norm that i don't know about? Not knowing what to expect I grit my teeth and bared for the worst. We got about 5 feet from him before I heard "You three are either English or American." My defense dropped and we all smiled and looked at each other with relief. He was English. I responded, "Yes, were American, but how did you know?" The solemnity in his face vanished and was replaced by a big smile. He introduced himself as Guy and gave us the rundown on France, Tours, his pub, and the french people. He is the owner of a restaurant/pub called Irish Company. He was like one of those people that you meet and it feels like you have know them your entire life. He was very enthusiastic about everything. What I loved most is that he talked with us about everything from our trip to french culture before he ever asked us to come get some food. It was so nice to meet someone as pleasant and as welcoming as he was in a country where you don't speak the native tongue. We came back to his restaurant that very night and had some amazing food. The food was great for sure, but what made it better was the friendliness of Guy that had made us feel so comfortable in a mysterious country. SInce the end of the trip i must say that not once was I treated poorly for being American. Everyone is friendly, as long as you are friendly back. More

This pub is on the middle of a courtyard with other shops, the owner was very nice meals were huge cesar salad, salmon salad, burger n chips, cheese platter side chips

I absolutely do not recommend this place. The beer was good, but the service was not friendly, the food was low quality. But the location is amazing, on historical center of the city.

The pub has a great location with outdoor seating on Place Plumereau. My wife had fish and chips and I had a pizza. Neither of us enjoyed our meals. I was able to get a pint of Guinness, but my wife was disappointed that Smithwick's... was not available like in most Irish pubs. More

After being ignored at one of the trendier restaurants with outdoor seating in the main square, we got up and left and dived in here. We just wanted to eat drink and watch Wales vs Portugal on a big TV. This fitted the bill perfectly.... Food is not special, burgers, pizza etc, but my burger and wifes salad were both great. So, not a special "French" experience, but if you just want to eat and drink, great. We went again a couple of days later, just as good. No problems whatsoever with service or staff, in fact it was pretty good considering how busy the place was. More

When you go to Irish Company, you can drink or eat at any time and share a very good moment with your friends or your family. There is TV and music. This pub is located in the Plumereau place, the old city of Tours, where... you can visit old sites. More

Great place for an Irish drink or a pint. They also have traditional Irish pub fare. Grab a seat out front with a view of the square where you can people watch.

This place os amazing! The food is good but the owner and the staff go above and beyond to make tourists feel welcome.

Nice ambiance with menu about pizza, pasta and burger. The bread used for their french hamburger was nice, loved the accompanying onion ring. The 4 kaison pizza has the 4 flavours for whoever like us that wish enjoy more flavours at once. The size of... their pizza was huge for our petite stomach that we couldn't finish it. Sorry that we weren't trained to have the whole big pizza on our own because we usually shared it among a group of friends. More

My wife and I went there on the evening of the marathon. We first had some drinks and then decided to eat. I had seen another customer with a enormous burger so I asked what it was. My friendly waiter told be it was a... Big Ben. I ordered it and my wife had the chicken burger. They were truly fab! It was a beautifully presented dish at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and professional and sitting outside on a balmy September in the old square on out last night in Tours was unforgettable. Well done Irish Company! More

This is a pizzeria et glacerie - in other words a pizza parlour and ice-cream shop. Don't go expecting an Irish pub. If you want a pizza and a scoop of vanilla it's fine

the owner is english and is very helpful we had very good meal first class.... speaks fluent english and french :) so you can get anything you need and be understood :)

super endroit que je recommande ! les assiettes sont très bien garnies, les pizzas tout autant que les burgers sont délicieux ! et les frites maison couronnent le tout ! personnel très gentil ps, le menu enfant est très bien également

Nous y sommes allés 2 soirs de suite. Planches de charcuterie très généreuse ainsi que la suite des plats. Très bon, tarifs très correct. Sur une place animée (sans voitures) Le tout servi par une équipe de jeune super sympathique. Je recommande ++++++

Très très sympa lors d’une halte vélo à Tours ! Personnel très pro et salades copieuses avec légumes frais. Le thé gourmands est top également.

Service rapide et efficace et un régal de l’apéro au dessert ! Nous n’avions pas réservé, il y avait beaucoup de monde en terrasse et à l’intérieur et pour autant l’attente a été très raisonnable. Équipe de pro ! Je recommande vivement !

The only Irish thing about this place is the name - fortunately, since who wants Irish food in France? Went twice, once for lunch with colleagues, where I had a good and very rich goulash (not showing much resemblance to the genuine article, but very... tasty in its own right); then again the following night for dinner in a group of 45 people. (I didn't know on the first day that the dinner would be there the second day!). That time I had the steak tartare, which was excellent. Everybody else at my table also enjoyed their meals - another steak tartare, a pizza, a magret de canard, and a calzone pizza. I get the feeling the traditional French food may be a better bet than the burgers, from the other reviews, but don't have experience. The kitchen and servers are extremely efficient - with 45 people, all choosing freely from the standard menu, everybody got their main within 45 mins or so, and was done within 2 hours. And of course there were dozens of regular clients there too. They can handle everybody in a large group paying separately, too. More

Nothing fancy but really nice burger, well cooked (medium) and lovely chips. Chicken burger highly rated too. Menu is fairly basic with more drink options than food options but came out quickly and service was prompt and professional. A great option for tourists. Reasonably priced... and right in the main square. Lots of seating so no waiting but still popular. More

it was a change. We ordered saint jacques which are scallops. I did not see scallops on too many menus here in Tours, It was cool to finally order them here. We came here to settle for burger or fries, so it was nice to... still get seafood in. More

Rush rush rush. Seem to have an ethos of get them in get them out. Abrupt waiter just because we asked for water. Asked the same waiter was the wine Sauvignon Blanc. He said it was it was actually Chenin Blanc. Just poured without letting... us taste. The food was a bit too quick and arrived soon after we ordered and was a plate of grease. As we say in Ireland the place was a “Kip” It’s not often we don’t tip and only in extreme cases. This was one of them. The staff were not worthy of a tip. Save your money and eat at Mx Donald’s instead. More

Great brasserie, recently been refurbished into a more modern style whilst still keeping the memorabilia and sport decorations, A great place for drinks and food with friends. Friendly staff speaking multiple languages. Large inside and out dining areas.

We walked into the small cafe and restaurant filled square and were just looking around and enjoying the view of Tours oldest District. Before we know it this tough/rugged looking man stepped into our path about 10 paces out in front of us. He turned... and eyed us. He was tough, rugged, and was almost rugby built. He had a long black polo and a flour covered apron hanging over his jeans. He had a tooth pick in his mouth and he just glared at us. Retrieving the tooth pick from his mouth he then pointed at our trio. Moving his hand from right to left he pointed at each of us like he was counting.None of us spoke very good french, and I had heard about the french before I came. I was told that they didn't care for Americans much, and that at any chance they would treat us with disregard for not knowing their perfect language. But why was he glaring at us? Am i breaking some social norm that i don't know about? Not knowing what to expect I grit my teeth and bared for the worst. We got about 5 feet from him before I heard "You three are either English or American." My defense dropped and we all smiled and looked at each other with relief. He was English. I responded, "Yes, were American, but how did you know?" The solemnity in his face vanished and was replaced by a big smile. He introduced himself as Guy and gave us the rundown on France, Tours, his pub, and the french people. He is the owner of a restaurant/pub called Irish Company. He was like one of those people that you meet and it feels like you have know them your entire life. He was very enthusiastic about everything. What I loved most is that he talked with us about everything from our trip to french culture before he ever asked us to come get some food. It was so nice to meet someone as pleasant and as welcoming as he was in a country where you don't speak the native tongue. We came back to his restaurant that very night and had some amazing food. The food was great for sure, but what made it better was the friendliness of Guy that had made us feel so comfortable in a mysterious country. SInce the end of the trip i must say that not once was I treated poorly for being American. Everyone is friendly, as long as you are friendly back. More

This pub is on the middle of a courtyard with other shops, the owner was very nice meals were huge cesar salad, salmon salad, burger n chips, cheese platter side chips

I absolutely do not recommend this place. The beer was good, but the service was not friendly, the food was low quality. But the location is amazing, on historical center of the city.

The pub has a great location with outdoor seating on Place Plumereau. My wife had fish and chips and I had a pizza. Neither of us enjoyed our meals. I was able to get a pint of Guinness, but my wife was disappointed that Smithwick's... was not available like in most Irish pubs. More

After being ignored at one of the trendier restaurants with outdoor seating in the main square, we got up and left and dived in here. We just wanted to eat drink and watch Wales vs Portugal on a big TV. This fitted the bill perfectly.... Food is not special, burgers, pizza etc, but my burger and wifes salad were both great. So, not a special "French" experience, but if you just want to eat and drink, great. We went again a couple of days later, just as good. No problems whatsoever with service or staff, in fact it was pretty good considering how busy the place was. More

When you go to Irish Company, you can drink or eat at any time and share a very good moment with your friends or your family. There is TV and music. This pub is located in the Plumereau place, the old city of Tours, where... you can visit old sites. More

Great place for an Irish drink or a pint. They also have traditional Irish pub fare. Grab a seat out front with a view of the square where you can people watch.

This place os amazing! The food is good but the owner and the staff go above and beyond to make tourists feel welcome.

Nice ambiance with menu about pizza, pasta and burger. The bread used for their french hamburger was nice, loved the accompanying onion ring. The 4 kaison pizza has the 4 flavours for whoever like us that wish enjoy more flavours at once. The size of... their pizza was huge for our petite stomach that we couldn't finish it. Sorry that we weren't trained to have the whole big pizza on our own because we usually shared it among a group of friends. More

My wife and I went there on the evening of the marathon. We first had some drinks and then decided to eat. I had seen another customer with a enormous burger so I asked what it was. My friendly waiter told be it was a... Big Ben. I ordered it and my wife had the chicken burger. They were truly fab! It was a beautifully presented dish at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and professional and sitting outside on a balmy September in the old square on out last night in Tours was unforgettable. Well done Irish Company! More

Russian Impressionism Museum Art-buffs are welcome to visit the Russian Impressionism Museum, which opened its doors in Moscow on the 28th of May. The exhibition hall is located on the grounds of the former “Bolshevik” confectionery factory grounds.

Robostation in VDNH If you are interested in everything connected with robots you should certainly attend one of the most curious interactive museum called Robostation, situated in All-Russia Exhibition Centre VDNH. Here visitors of all ages have a great chance to get acquainted with modern robots, take part in different activities, enjoy technopark, chemistry show and show of dancing robots.
