Hop on The Red Bull Tour Bus

Guitarist warren mendonsa will take the stage with his band blackstratblues comprising jai row kavi on the drums, beven fonseca on keyboards and adi mistry on bass..

With his guitar chops and blues hooks, guitarist Warren Mendonsa is probably India’s high priest of blues music. Bass monster Nucleya on the other hand, has revolutionised his brand of electronica-meets-Indian-street-percussion and filled stadium with fans. Multi-instrumentalist and electro-fusion artist Karsh Kale, meanwhile, has collaborated with the likes of Ravi Shankar, Sting, Herbie Hancock and Anoushka Shankar.

So one needs little coaxing to catch these musicians playing under the same roof, or in this case, on top of a roof on Sunday October 16, as part of the 2016 edition of Red Bull Tour Bus – Off the Roof event at Hindu Gymkhana in Marine Lines.

The bill also includes playback singer Benny Dayal’s project called the Benny Dayal Funktuatin as well as Ahmedabad post-rock outfit As We Keep Searching.

Mendonsa will take the stage with his band Blackstratblues comprising Jai Row Kavi on the drums, Beven Fonseca on keyboards and Adi Mistry on bass. With some stellar albums to his credit, including last year’s, The Universe Has a Strange Sense of Humour, Mendonsa will perform his gritty, yet zealous blues and rock numbers.

With his sophomore album titled Raja Baja, released last month, Udyan Sagar (aka Nucleya) is clearly one of our busiest musicians with gigs lined up from Melbourne to Shanghai. Although he won’t be playing the entire album, Nucleya is slated to spin and tweak some of the tracks from Raja Baja.

Kale is scheduled to perform with his collective called Karsh Kale Soundsystem, joined by Mendonsa and other musicians.

Multi-lingual playback singer Benny Dayal has been testing tunes with his new project for some time, while As We Keep Searching will showcase some of their post-rock music.

Redbull Tour Bus rolls into India

The Redbull tour bus is a concept that's been around in Europe for some time now, but this is the first time that the energy drink company has brought one to Asia. The concept is simple: one very cool bus, with a stage on top of it, that tours through the country stopping at different cities for gigs. The Mumbai show, which was held on October 5, was the inaugural round of the Tour Bus and the event featured several famous Indian musicians and bands. Big names like The Dualist Inquiry Band, The Supersonics, Scribe, Swarthma and more belted out some great music for the enthusiastic crowd.

The Redbull Tour Bus has been brought to India in association with the NH7 group and its next stop will be the NH7 music festival that will be held in Pune between October 18 and 20. After that the bus will be driven right across the country to a series of cities such as Chennai, Manipal, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mohali, Bangalore, Delhi and Kolkata before the year ends.

But it doesn't stop there – Redbull already has plans for 2014 and the calendar will be released after this year's tour ends. The Redbull Tour Bus is a great way for the fans to listen to some great Indie music and to help bands from across the country find an avenue to share their music. The concept is sound, the music great and you should definitely catch it when the tour bus rolls into your city.

The red bull tour bus serves as a touring vehicle and a stage for bands to perform on,and will launch in india in october.

Since November last year,a team of people at Red Bull in the country have been working on building a bus. Expected to be completed and unveiled in October,this vehicle will not,however,serve to ferry passengers from one point to another. The Red Bull Tour Bus gives independent musicians in the country a vehicle that will not only allow them to tour by road,but one that transforms into a fully-equipped stage.

This rather forward-thinking piece of machinery has existed in Canada,Italy,Germany,Poland and USA,among other countries. This is Asia’s first and will,among other things,allow for gigs in cities that are still fairly unexplored for lack of venues.

“The primary aim of this Tour Bus is two-fold,” says Rohan Vyavaharkar,National Communications Head,Red Bull India. “One is to provide an opportunity for young bands to perform across the country,but also to take the more established bands to cities they don’t usually get to play in.”

Every country’s Tour Bus has been designed differently,and India’s,Vyavaharkar says,has a touch of retro. Additionally,while the equipment on the bus — when it functions as a stage — is good enough by itself for mid-sized venues,the larger,stadium-like ones will require additional equipment. It has not been announced when the bus will host its first gig or begin its first tour,but it will be present at all four NH7 Weekenders as a separate stage.

Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
