Georgia Aquarium

Yes. We’re parents and.. yes, we love to travel, so I can safely say that we’ve been to a crapload of aquariums around the world. If there isn’t an aquarium on our city itinerary, then something has gone horribly wrong in the planning process.

Of all the aquariums we have visited, none have, so far, compared to Georgia Aquarium. Not even close. If you’re an aquarium nut like we are – you need to put a  physical visit to this spectacular place on your travel bucket list.

For now, you can, of course, experience this epic aquarium virtually via their virtual aquarium tour and live cam feed where you can soothe your soul gazing at dancing jellyfish or stare in awe at the Beluga whale.

Peek into live streams to see what Rocky the croc is up to or join in on storytime events run by the zoo staff on the virtual zoo tours page. You’ll also find printable animal-themed colouring pages, plus fact and activity sheets.

Europe: Virtual Zoos & Aquariums

The last continent we’ll be virtually teleporting you to on this worldwide virtual safari, zoo and aquarium tour is, of course, good ole Europe. Home to the world’s oldest zoo and the first zoo in the world to house and breed penguins – your roundtrip will end with a little history and class.

Germany’s capital can proudly claim to have the most popular zoo in all of Europe. Berlin Zoo houses a whopping collection of over 20,000 animals across 1,500 different species – more than any zoo on the planet.

Considering none of us can currently visit in person, we can thank the Internet once again for this high-resolution walkthrough , making it possible to meet some of the friendly furry residents of the zoo, virtually.

Oh, and I’m just gonna casually mention that they have PANDA CUBS, guys. *Hyperventilating*. Jump onto their Facebook to meet the twinning cuties, Pit and Paule. Right now. It’ll be the most adorable thing you’ll see all week.

You can stalk them trying to catch some snoozy time below…

Speaking of stalking animals (cos that’s socially acceptable, right?), Prague Zoo houses a baby elephant that online visitors can attempt to spot on their live Elephant Valley cam . Pop by their YouTube channel for more adorable moments and to follow its journey from birth.

Watch this 4k  walkthrough of the zoo and try to spot mighty Western Lowland gorillas, polar bears, hippos, Asian elephants, red pandas and many more cute and intimidating animals.

They’ve made their learning portal readily accessible – the online hub is packed with free activities, games, quizzes and fact files for kids of all ages.

13 Amazing Zoo Visits: A Zoo Virtual Tour

zoo virtual tours

zoo virtual tours

Are you running out of interesting ideas to keep the little ones occupied? Are you tired of reading the same storybook, watching the same cartoons, or singing the same set of children’s songs for your kids? Why not let them visit the zoo while keeping them safe inside your homes? Yes, that is possible these days using virtual tours. Virtually visiting zoos is one of the best ways to keep them entertained and informed about animal habitats and behaviors.

zoo virtual tours

There are several zoos you can visit virtually with your kids. Once you are done with your zoo visit, you can do a virtual tour of some museums and theme parks as well. But, we will discuss more on that in our next blogs. For now, take note of these lists for your visual zoo visits.

zoo virtual tours

San Diego Zoo – Visit their website a get a chance to watch the live video stream of animals like the ape, baboon, burrowing owl, condor, elephant, giraffe, hippo, koala, panda, penguin, platypus, polar bear, and tiger.

  • Houston Zoo – This zoo is also equipped with a live cam where your kids could virtually spend time watching the giant river otter, the elephant, the giraffe, the gorilla, flamingo, chimp, and even as small as the leafcutter ants do their thing.
  • Atlanta Zoo – This zoo has a live stream video of their cute panda. Watch them as they munch through bamboo leaves.
  • Chester Zoo – This zoo makes use of its social media account, Facebook, and Youtube for a live feed of animals for an entire day. Your kids could virtually watch the butterflies flutter in-between flowers or the fishes swim across beautiful corals.
  • Cincinnati Zoo – The pandemic gave birth to Home Safari Facebook Live where animals become the star of the live video stream. Children would learn about how safari animals are being taken care of. They can watch vultures, sloths, meerkats, aardwolves, and many more.
  • Georgia Aquarium – If you or the little ones are more interested in sea creatures, then visit the live stream of Georgia Aquarium. You can virtually interact with the beluga whales, African penguins, sea otters, or watch the feeding frenzy of piranhas.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium – This zoo has a live cam set on its aviary. This sure is a hit if you are into birdwatching. You can also switch to other views as Monterey Bay Aquarium also offers a live stream on their Moon Jelly, and Sharks. But perhaps for people who are into freediving and snorkeling, the open sea cam will get you more interested.
  • National Aquarium in Baltimore- Unlike the seven locations mentioned above offering live streams of animals, National Aquarium offers a panoramic view of the area. You can pan to the left or to the right to watch different animals. Make use of the View Map tab to switch to different floors and move from sea creatures to land animals. The Explore Scene allows you to choose between specific animals you would want to check out. If you are unfamiliar with navigating around a virtual tour website, just click the Instruction tab and it will show you the complete instructions on how to enjoy the virtual tour. Their website is powered by Samurai Virtual Tours which provides a four-level view of the entire place.
  • Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute in Washington – When you virtually visit this zoo you will get to enjoy giant pandas and learn about their behavior and eating habits. You can also virtually watch black-footed ferrets, elephants, lions, and the naked mole rats in their everyday living. There is a feature where you get to learn more about these animals when you download the Animal Cam Bingo Cards.

10. New England Aquarium – You can watch the penguin colony or the variation of marine creatures swim along with their huge ocean tank at the comfort of your home. The zoo also offers virtual programs such as virtual academy programs and virtual animal encounters. These are exciting ways for your kids to continue learning about animals. They would also have a chance to learn from aquarium educators.

11. London Zoo – Similar to National Aquarium, London Zoo offers more than a live cam for virtual tours, thanks to 360virtual tour provider. If you have not visited the United Kingdom and you are curious about what their zoo looks like, you can take a peek using their virtual tour. It will give an idea of how huge the place is. You can navigate around the areas and see where the animals are kept.

12. Australia Zoo – Visiting the zoo does not require you to fly out to the land down under. They are actively using their Youtube channel so animal lovers like yourselves could still enjoy a virtual interaction with zoo animals.

13. Oregon Zoo – This zoo is a non-profit organization that provides a live stream of its animals. Your kids could watch the goats run around, or red pandas enjoying some snacks.

zoo virtual tours

From the list mentioned above, the majority of the zoo can be visited virtually by the live cam on their websites or their social media channels. Only a handful of them have a 360 virtual tour feature and this is a great opportunity to make zoo visits more interactive, engaging, and educational. The combination of innovative solutions such as 360 technology and virtual reality can create a more immersive experience for your children who are always curious about learning new things. The restrictions of being confined inside our homes should not stop our children and us too from continuously learning about the world of animals. The only way that the next generation could better take care of these animals is to understand and to know more about them. So, take time to nurture their curiosity by virtually taking them to amazing zoo visits. Do not miss the 360 virtual tour for some cool navigation features.

At Momentum 360 , we pride ourselves in being a top choice for 360 virtual tours for zoos, museums and theme park areas. Feel free to reach out anytime for an opportunity to add some 3D virtual tours to these areas.
