The 'DWTS' 2023 Tour Is Perfect for Fans Who Want More After the Show

Chrissy Bobic - Author

Oct. 4 2022, Published 12:35 p.m. ET

Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki on 'DWTS.'

Watching Dancing With the Stars on Disney Plus is one thing. But seeing some of your favorite pros in tour is an entirely different experience that fans look forward to after each season. So, when is the DWTS 2023 tour? Season 31 just started on its new streaming platform home, but viewers are excited for what comes next.

The yearly DWTS tour always features some notable pro dancers, though not everyone goes on tour. And what would a DWTS show be without the stars? Each tour also welcomes guest celebrity dancers who make their way across the stage with the pros.

And if you love seeing them waltz across the ballroom floor or give their best modern dance interpretations, then the tour is what you need when Season 31 of DWTS is over.

When is the 'DWTS' 2023 tour?

The tour, which is officially called the Dancing With the Stars: Live! show, kicks off on Jan. 6. The first show is in National Harbor, Md. After that, the tour travels throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There are also Ohio dates and even some shows scheduled for Ontario.

The DWTS tour travels throughout the United States and Canada until its final show on March 23, 2023 in Las Vegas. But there are literally dozens of shows across multiple states, so it'll be hard not to find a date that works for you if you find yourself needing more of your favorite DWTS pros after the season ends.

DWTS TOUR!!! #DWTS — Andrew Dustin Vargas (@andydv27) October 4, 2022

How do you get tickets for the 2023 'DWTS' tour?

Tickets for the 2023 DWTS tour are already available on Ticketmaster . There are general seating tickets available, as well as VIP packages. Though prices vary depending on which venue you choose, tickets can be as low as $30 each.

Of course that's not including any additional fees, but can you really put a price on seeing DWTS live in concert? OK, yes, you literally can. But you get it.

The 'DWTS' tour is different from the TV show.

On DWTS on Disney Plus, viewers watch pros and their celebrity partners vie for high scores and audience votes each week to remain in the competition. The stakes are a lot lower during the tour. It's all about entertaining and delighting the audience rather than gaining favor over each other as the pros and celebrities perform for packed arenas.

And there are intense costume changes that you don't get to experience by just watching the reality show at home.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Gleb Savchenko (@glebsavchenkoofficial)

"The costumes are amazing. Each person probably has 17 to 20 changes during the whole show," Gleb Savchenko told E! News in January 2022 during that year's tour. "Sometimes there's a moment where I'm barely making it to the point where I can't even button up my shirt. I'm barely making that change."

Even if your favorite part about watching DWTS is having a say in who stays and who goes, there's something special about watching it all happen onstage in front of you. And. Because the shows are all live on tour, no performance is exactly the same.

But until you grab your tickets for the 2023 DWTS tour, you can still tune into the show each week.

Watch Dancing With the Stars on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Plus.

Mark Ballas Announces His 'Last Dance' on 'Dancing with the Stars' 4 Months After Season 31 Mirrorball Win

"This will be the last time you see me dance in this capacity ... this is the last time I will be dancing with a [celebrity] partner," DWTS pro Mark Ballas revealed during a Las Vegas tour performance

dwts tour las vegas

Mark Ballas is saying goodbye to his pro status on Dancing with the Stars .

During Sunday's final DWTS tour stop at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Ballas, 36, announced that he'll be retiring as a competing pro dancer on DWTS .

The announcement comes nearly 16 years after he made his debut on the hit series during season 5 in 2007.

"I started this journey when I was 21, 22. Honestly, being able to dance and perform for you fans, you guys are the best fans. Thank you," Ballas said in a video captured by a fan, before noting that his parents, in-laws and wife BC Jean were in attendance for the DWTS tour's final show.

"So, I just wanna finish by saying this will be the last time you see me dance in this capacity. I'm coming to a close tonight. This is gonna be my last dance," he continued.

As he announced the news to the crowd, Ballas stood on stage beside his season 31 partner, TikTok star Charli D'Amelio — who worked with Ballas to win the Mirrorball Trophy in November, his third time earning the title.

"I had the best time ever this season, and this freestyle was just a great way to finish it off. This song means the world to me, Charli means the world to me, the D'Amelio family, you guys mean the world to me. Thank you for everything," Ballas said.

"I'm not saying this is the end, [but] this is the last time I will be dancing with a [celebrity] partner," he clarified. "And I wanted to finish this with Charli, and I appreciate you guys so much. I wanna do this freestyle for you one more time. Thank you for everything, I appreciate it."

Before he and the 18-year-old captivated the crowd once more, Ballas was embraced with love by his fellow dancers on stage as audience members applauded him.

A representative for Ballas told PEOPLE he had no further comment at this time.

Throughout his time on the dance competition show, Ballas has been partnered with stars including Melissa Joan Hart , Kim Kardashian , Sabrina Bryan , Shannen Doherty , Bristol Palin , Christina Milian , Aly Raisman , Kristin Cavallari , Candace Cameron Bure , Lindsey Stirling , Sadie Robertson , Paige VanZant and Alexa PenaVega .

He's won the competition three times — with Olympic ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi in season 6, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson in season 8 and, of course, D'Amelio in season 31.

Ballas also has four second-place finishes under his belt — Stirling (season 25), VanZant (season 22), Robertson (season 19) and Katherine Jenkins (season 14) — as well as three third place finishes with Palin (season 15), Bure (season 18) and Chelsea Kane (season 12).

While he's appeared on DWTS since 2007, he was not part of seasons 23, 24, or 26-30.

During last season's finale, D'Amelio and Ballas beat out runner up and former Bachelorette Gabby Windey and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy , actor Wayne Brady and partner Witney Carson (who placed third), and drag superstar Shangela and partner Gleb Savchenko (who finished in fourth).

"Oh my gosh, it happened so fast!" Charli told reporters after the finale. "I couldn't even really comprehend what was going on, and then they put me in the air. I was like, 'What?' "

"I think we're both still a bit staggered," Ballas admitted at the time. "It's like she's still shell-shocked."

After the win, Ballas revealed on Instagram that he was "leaning towards saying no" to returning to season 31 "as I felt this chapter of my life had come to a close."

"After receiving the offer & thinking about it a while, for some strange reason I took the leap & said yes," he shared. "After 5 years of not creating in this arena the ideas started flooding out quite quickly, then I had my first meet w/ @charlidamelio As shy & timid as she was for those first few weeks, I knew there was something extremely special in there, which became even more apparent after our first performance."

"We always had fun but also knew when to focus & I don't think I heard you complain once, even when your feet were literally bleeding," he continued. "We created a body of work that I will always be proud of & to say that I'm proud of you is an understatement. Enjoy this moment with your whole heart because you deserve this Char. I feel honored & privileged to have been your coach, partner, friend & big brother 💚."

The psychedelic-soul band features Puerto Rican-bred, Atlanta-raised María Zardoya and Los Angeles native Josh Conway as well as close friends Jesse Perlman on guitar and Edward James on keys. Since their debut album Cinema, The Marías have earned an impressive reputation including two GRAMMY Award nominations, a Billboard chart-topper and collaborations with the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny and Tainy.

Most recently, The Marías released their sophomore album Submarine, including the lead single, “Run Your Mouth” which garnered over one million streams in its first week of release. The sophomore album delivers a feeling of nostalgia with Zardoya’s trance-inducing vocals transporting you to a place of solitude and exploration, comparable to the psychedelic indie rock roots of their breakout EP Superclean.

The Marías undeniable musical chemistry can be heard in their smooth assemble of jazz percussion, hypnotic guitar riffs, smoke-velvet vocals and nostalgic horn solos. The band’s cinematic style is brought to life during their live performance as the group delivers striking visuals that beautifully compliment their songs, creating an indisputably unique and transportive experience.

DWTS Pro Names Co-Star Who Inspired Him to Take Red-Hot Gig Ahead of Season 33

 Gleb Savchenko

revealed that a  “Dancing with the Stars” co-star inspired him to join the Chippendales.

In an April 2024 interview with “On the Red Carpet” with George Pennachio, Savchenko shared that fellow DWTS pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy looked at his body and told him he should join the male striptease revue.

“True story,” Savchenko, 40, said. “So I was on tour with ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ I  was working out really hard, and during one of the shows in a quick change, Val looked at me in my underwear and he was like, ‘Dude you look so good, you should do Chippendales.’ I was like ‘Okay.’ Two days later, I called my manager and I said ‘I want to do Chippendales.’ And two weeks later the deal was signed and here we are!”

Savechenko first shared the news that he was joining the Chippendales show in March 2024. The veteran pro dancer will be the celebrity host for Chippendales shows in Las Vegas and Atlantic City this spring and summer.

Another DWTS Alum Encouraged Gleb Savchenko to Join Chippendales

Chippendales has a history with “Dancing With the Stars” alumni. Fellow dancer Tony Dovolani headlined a six-week Chippendales residency at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in 2018, according to People magazine.

In addition, DWTS contestants Ian Ziering, Joey Lawrence, Tyson Beckford, and season 22 mirrorball champion  Nyle DiMarco have all been Chippendales, according to Broadway World.

DWTS season 31 alum also Vinny Guadagnino hosted five residencies for the male dance revue, most recently during the fall of 2023, per KNTV.

Speaking with “On the Red Carpet,” Savchenko said Guadagnino called him about his Chippendales role and encouraged him. “Vinny reached out to me,” Savchenko said. “He was like ‘Dude you’re going to have such a good time, the energy in the room is absolutely crazy.’”

Savchenko confirmed that none of his ‘Dancing’ friends will make cameos during his stint on the Chippendales stage. “I don’t think they can pull it off,” the Russian dancer cracked. “I mean no Sasha [Farber]. If we need a little shimmy shimmy bachacatas, we’ll probably ask him to do some of it, but you know….”

Gleb Savchenko Said He’s ‘Doing It For the Fans’

Savchenko’s limited engagement as a Chippendales guest host kicks off at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on April 25,  per TMZ.  In July, he’ll begin a second round of shows at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

In the “OTRC” interview, he also shared that he hopes to see his biggest “Dancing With the Stars” fans in the audience. “I’ve been on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ for the last 12 years,” he said. “I’ve never won the mirrorball trophy, but I had a great time connecting to fans. And you know, we have six million people watching ‘Dancing With the Stars’ every single season. So my guess is that some of those people will come and see me live on the Chippendales stage.”

“To me, it doesn’t really matter if you’re dancing cha cha or you dancing a sexy dance and your shirt comes off,” he added. “I’m doing it for the fans!”

Savchenko teased that he will bring a dashing “Prince Charming after dark” vibe to the shirtless show. “That’s what I’m bringing,” he said. “I’ve done all the princes on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Prince Eric, Prince Charming, all the princes. So here we go!”

In 2022, Cheryl Burke endured two life-changing splits, but one hit her harder -- and it may not be the one you think.

In February 2022, the ballroom pro filed for divorce from Matthew Lawrence after less than three years of marriage . Nine months later, she announced she would be performing for the last time as a pro partner  on  Dancing With the Stars  after 25 seasons.

"This has been one of the absolute hardest decisions of my life," she wrote in her announcement, "& I am also confident that it is the right one."

During her appearance on Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes' podcast,  Amy & T.J. ,  Burke was asked which "divorce" was harder.

" Dancing With the Stars ," she responded. "...Hands down. You can't compare."

While she clarified that her answer did not mean her split from Lawrence was easy, Burke credited ABC's ballroom competition series with giving her a voice.

As Burke put it, "That was my identity." Burke -- who joined the show at 21 years old -- explained that she did not think back then that she could ever be an independent woman because, in ballroom, it's about a partnership with the men in control.

However, she gave credit to  DWTS  for coming into her own and being able to stand on her own feet. But will she ever be back on the show in any capacity? Burke simply does not know. "It's everything," she said, "but, like, I also don't want to get my hopes up, either."

As for her relationship with Lawrence, Burke said she was the breadwinner and supported them financially, which gave her a sense of control, but, according to her, ended up being to their detriment. "It made me feel good," she said, "but then it didn't necessarily make the relationship good."

While Burke acknowledged on the podcast that she is more of a realist than an optimist, she has not ruled out tying the knot again.

"I totally would get married again," she  told ET in 2023 . "I mean, I know we should probably go from like meeting somebody first, not like straight to the altar, but our time is limited on this planet."

What would that future groom be like? "Someone who, honestly, first of all, is OK and secure with themselves. That really is a person who knows that we are here to evolve as human beings and who wants to grow and continue to learn and stay curious," she said. "I think that that is very important and whether we're on the same path, it's irrelevant, I think it's just someone who knows that life continues to move forward."
