Get Your Caffeine Fix on These 4 Kenyan Coffee and Tea Tours

A ficionados of all things caffeinated may think of Ethiopia when they think of coffee-producing African countries — but Kenyan coffee is also exceptionally tasty. Kenya borders Ethiopia, with similar growing conditions to its more well-known neighbor. Most of the Kenyan coffee and tea farms are at elevations of around 6,000 feet or more, resulting in coffees with fruity, spicy, and more acidic tasting notes, as well as teas with low bitterness and very robust flavors.

Fortunately, many of the best Kenyan coffee and tea farms that offer tours are close to Nairobi , so it’s not hard for tourists to make a half-day visit.

Most Kenyan coffee grown today is of the Arabica variety, first introduced by missionaries to Africa in the late 1800s. Around 1900, the British East African Company (a British import/export company focused on products from Africa) was given control of what was then called the East Africa Protectorate, which would later become Kenya. When the British East African Company went belly-up, the British Government took control of Kenya. And by 1920, many of the British colonizers occupying the region grew coffee on land they took, despite the land already being occupied by Indigenous groups like the Kikuyus and Maasai.

Kenya gained its independence in 1963, by which point most coffee production had already been turned over to Kenyan families and businesses, especially after the British allowed Kenyans to grow coffee and tea following the end of the Mau Mau Uprising in 1956.

Today, most Kenyan coffee and tea is grown on small family farms operating as collectives to sell their crops to buyers. But some larger tea and coffee farms offer options for tours and tastings for visitors, most of which are less than an hour from Nairobi.

As with many agricultural industries in many countries, workers can be under-compensated for what is sometimes very laborious work. Opt for fair trade coffees and teas when possible and be sure to ask lots of questions on these tours if there are any concerns about the sustainability or impact of the operations.

These are four of the best Kenyan coffee and tea farms for travelers to visit on their day off from safaris, visiting Maasai villages, and watching the famous wildebeest migration, plus one can’t-miss coffee shop in the heart of a gorgeous urban park.

Kenyan tea farm tours

Kiambethu tea farm.

coffee tours kenya

Kiambethu Tea Farm was established in 1910 and is still run by the same family, albeit five generations removed. The farm is in the hillsides about 45 minutes from Nairobi at an elevation of 7,500 feet, which gives many of its teas qualities associated with high-elevation growing. They’re less bitter and tend to have a more robust flavor, which means a full-bodies glass of tea with fewer leaves. It also means they don’t have to use much in the way of pesticides.

Visitors can learn about the qualities of high-elevation tea and the growing process by spending the day at the Kiambethu Tea Farm.

It’s actually much more than just a tour of the farm. As with most tours, it includes a cup of tea, a walk-through of the production facility, and a visit to the tea fields. But the guest experience at Kiambethu also includes a guided forest walk with a Kenyan naturalist who will point out flora and fauna (like Columbus monkeys) along the way. Then, it’s back to the farm for a stroll through the gardens before a three-course lunch using local ingredients. The experience is offered Thursday through Sunday, tickets are around 4,000 Kenyan Shillings (about $33), and advanced booking is essential.

Guests are welcome to visit on their own, though several companies offer tours that include transportation from Nairobi .

Gatura Greens

Photo Magical Kenya

Gatura Greens — Kenya’s first purple tea farm — offers more than just a tea tour. Guests actually get a lesson in how to hand-pick tea before picking their own leaves, which they’ll then learn to prepare and brew.

Purple tea is rare, and nearly all of it comes from Kenya. Gatura Green’s founder first planted tea in 1959 as one of the first Kenyans allowed to grow the plant. His son — the current owner’s father — worked with a public/private co-op that isolated the genes for purple tea and eventually planted purple tea across most of the farm. Today, his children own the farm with a rentable country house, camping land, and a trail through the forest to a large waterfall and swimming hole.

Visitors to the Kenyan tea farm can rent the 12-person country house (which includes unlimited tea, of course) for $250 a night or camp on the farm for a reasonable $15 a night. Tours are an all-day affair, starting at 9:30 AM with the tea-picking lessons before moving to the main house to roll and pack the teas. Once the day warms up, it’s off for a quick hike to the waterfall for a leisurely swim before returning to the farm for a three-course lunch. After lunch, it’s time for a tea tasting, after which guests can stay as long as they like, right up through the evening bonfire.

Tours are $35 per person and should be booked in advance . The farm is about an hour from Nairobi, and Gatura Greens can arrange transportation at an extra cost.

Kenyan coffee farm tours

One of the most well-known Kenyan coffee farms is Fairview Estates . It’s one of the closest Kenyan coffee tours to Nairobi, about 25 minutes outside the city.

Tours are offered twice daily (10 AM and 2 PM) and last about two hours, including a post-tour tasting of a few of the most popular blends. Guests are encouraged to bring snacks or lunch for a picnic on the grounds, though it’s also possible to order a packed lunch in advance for 1000 Kenyan Shillings (around $9). Reservations for tours are recommended but not essential.

Fairview is one of the larger Kenyan coffee estates in the country, with 100 acres of coffee beans planted in an average season. During the harvest season (usually October or November), the farm hires up to 400 people to help with harvesting, pruning, and sorting beans. The farm also has plenty of non-coffee land, including trails for birdwatching and forest walks, a large dairy area, and a coffee shop where guests can grab a coffee to go or pick up bags of their favorite beans. Coffee by the bag starts at is about $10.

Karunguru Coffee Estate

coffee tours kenya

The land that would become the Karunguru Coffee Estate was first planted with coffee beans in 1928 by British transplants. But in 1978, it was purchased by the Kariithi family, which still runs and operates the Kenyan coffee farm.

Today, Karunguru covers 500 acres, producing only Arabica single-origin coffee. All aspects of production are on site, from drying and roasting to grinding and packaging the final product.

Tours are offered daily from 11 AM to 4 PM, except for Sundays and Mondays. The tour experience includes a short intro to making coffee, a tour of all aspects of the farm from the fields to packaging, and a picnic lunch with locally grown veggies in the farm gardens (or formal ballroom, if the weather doesn’t cooperate). Oh, and there’s a coffee tasting after lunch, naturally. There’s also an on-site store with very reasonably priced bags of home-grown Kenyan coffee, starting at around $4.50.

The farm is about 20 minutes from Nairobi and reservations are required for tours, which cost $35 including lunch.

The River Cafe

Travelers who don’t have time to add an extra trip outside the city to their itineraries can still try some of the best Kenyan coffee and tea in the country if they head to The River Cafe . The beautiful cafe is inside Karura Forest — a large urban park that serves as a lovely alternative to the more crowded Nairobi National Park — and has both a restaurant and shop, so travelers can grab a coffee to go or pick up bags of beans to take home. It’s an excellent spot to relax after a morning hike, especially for travelers who prefer Kenyan coffee with a side of scenic views or laid-back birdwatching.

Kenyan Coffee Tours: The Ultimate Guide For Coffee Lovers

Kenyan Coffee is by far one of the best in the world when it comes down to flavor and quality. They have some of the most unique and complex flavors, so if you are someone that loves to experiment, or have more extravagant needs when it comes to coffee preference, you are in for quite a journey. I am someone who loves a good quality bold flavored cup of brew, and more intricate notes, and learning more about the origins, I have fulfilled my love for both by exploring all the different coffees from many countries. Thus, I must add that this far,  Kenyan coffee has truly intrigued me the most, with its flavors offering a whole new taste experience.

What Makes Kenyan Coffee So Special?

The Coffee Beans produced in Kenya are popular for their bright and bold flavors, with wine-like acidity. Most Coffee farms harvest their coffee by hand and process them using the wet process method. Coffee is grown in rich volcanic soil with high altitudes and ideal climates.

  A few factors that make Kenyan Coffee so Special;

  • The best conditions for coffee cultivation are created because of the Unique soil, climate, and altitude combinations.
  • Kenya has unique coffee flavors that are bright, bold, and fruity, with more of a winey acidity.
  • Kenya is the largest coffee exporter in Africa and the third largest in the world.
  • Coffee beans are harvested by hand and wet processed which improves the flavor profile.
  • Arabica and Robusta coffee is grown in Kenya.
  • Kenyan Coffee production is regulated with strict standards to ensure exceptional quality.

Distinctive Characteristics of Kenyan Coffee

Kenyan Coffee is unique and set far apart from other coffee varieties. The coffee can be described as having a very distinct taste that is bold and complex, with acidic and fruity undertones, that is well balanced by a rich and smooth body. Kenyan coffee is highly sought after by many coffee enthusiasts.

Kenyan Coffee has some very diverse Features that set it apart from the rest;

  • High caffeine Content – Kenyan coffee has a bold and energetic taste, with quite a kick, as it has much higher caffeine content. Because Kenyan coffee matures slowly in high altitudes, the coffee cherries have a higher concentration of caffeine.
  • Subtle Sweet Taste – In a more traditional sense, Kenyan coffee has typically been described as having a sweet taste, characterized by brighter acidity and more fruity undertones. The sweetness is still quite subtle and rarely noticed.
  • Balanced Flavor – Kenyan coffee does not have a bitter taste, especially in the medium roasts, Some of the darker roasts may lean towards a very slightly bitter taste, however, this is always balanced out by the fruity notes.
  • Robusta and Arabica Coffee – Kenya produces both Robusta and Arabica coffee types. Though they are more well known, the Arabica is better quality and has less of a bitter taste. Robusta coffee in Kenya is mostly used in lower-quality blends and is not highly regarded in Kenya.

Interesting Facts on How Kenya Processes Their Coffee

tim mossholder YC6RVdoTtIk unsplash

In Kenya, the Arabica coffee species is grown almost exclusively, and processed specifically using the wet method. Harvesting usually takes place between October and December following a precise process;

1. Harvesting

Coffee cherries are handpicked usually involving members of the family, or hired labor. The Cherries are picked up by factories almost immediately after harvesting.

2. Cherry Sorting

The Cherries are sorted to remove all damaged, dry, or immature berries, as well as twigs and leaves before the cherries can be pulped.

The Pulp from the Cherry is removed mechanically leaving you with parchment coffee, after which the pulp is graded 1 or 2, and lights, which depends on how dense or large the coffee beans are. The coffee with a 1 grade will go into fermentation tanks, while 2 and light grades are processed again using a smaller pulper.

4. Fermentation

Fermentation is used to wash off the mucilage layer on the parchment, using chemicals such as lime and alkaline carbonates. The parchment is tested by washing a small amount and feeling the coffee by hand. When the coffee parchment feels gritty, the fermentation process is completed.

5. Underwater Soaking

After Fermentation, the coffee is soaked under water for around 12 hours, which has proved to improve the taste and color of the coffee beans. The Parchment is thoroughly washed before starting the soaking process.

6. Final Washing and Grading

When the soaking is completed the parchment is washed again thoroughly with clean water and passed through concrete channels with a wooden panel. The channels are painted black to allow heat retention during fermentation and to reduce friction. During the final washing process, the coffee is graded once again in a similar fashion.

The freshly pulped coffee will have a very high moisture count of around 555, which will need to be reduced to 11% at least, most farmers dry their coffee in the sun, while commercial estates use mechanical dryers. The Coffee needs an 11% moisture content that is ideal for storage.

8. Coffee Storage

After the drying process, the coffee will be stored at the Cooperative storage facilities before it is delivered for hulling. The Coffee is stored in sacks on wooden pellets 0.5m above the ground and walls, in a well-circulated storage room.

Dry Method of Coffee Processing

On rare occasions, the dry method is used for processing Arabica coffee. The method involves drying the cherries to reduce the moisture content to 11 %, and then they are hulled, removing the dry pulp parchment in one single operation.

The Most Popular Kenyan Coffee Varieties and Regions

There are most certainly some Kenyan coffee varieties that have received much more popularity than others, though it is quite difficult to determine what the “best” coffee variety from Kenya is, as every individual has their taste preferences. Kenyan coffee is similarly graded either AA which is the highest quality or AB – C which is lower quality coffee. Kirinyaga , Kiambu, Nyeri, and Muranga are counties in Kenya that produce the most AA-grade coffees.

pexels og mpango 4090602

That said here is a list of Kenyan coffee varieties in order of the best quality and most popular;

SL stands for “ Scotts Laboratory ” which is a research center in Kenya that creates the SL coffee varieties. There is the SL 34 variety which is a high-volume output coffee plant and one of the first varieties referred to as “Bourbon” coffee previously. Unfortunately, the quality of the SL 34 is less than the SL 28 which is the highest quality coffee in Kenya, and similarly a high-yielding coffee variety. SL 34 coffee is mostly found in the Kiambu, and Kirinyaga regions of Kenya, while SL 28 is found in Nyeri and Kiambu .

The K7 variety is a traditional Kenyan coffee, released in 1936, after 5 generations of research by “Scotts Laboratory”. It is a full-bodied variety that has a very subtle acidity when compared to the SL variants. K7 is mainly found in the Kisii , and Nyamira counties in Kenya, which also produce SL 34 and SL 28 variants.

Riuru coffee is said to be a hybrid coffee variety that is grafted into some of the traditional coffee varieties. Riuri is said to have a very creamy and full-body taste, like milk chocolate with acidic and fruity notes of orange, and ring (Greengage) fruit. It is however considered an inferior coffee, depending on individual preference. Ruiru 11 coffee is mainly found in the Nyeri and Kirinyaga Counties.

The Batain coffee variant is much like the SL 34, it offers a high yield and is hardy against disease with much larger beans. Though it is quite sensitive to acidic soil, and unfortunately lowest on our list. Batain being released in 2010 is quite a new coffee variety that you will mainly find in the Nakuru County of Kenya.

Kenyan Coffee Tours

Few Kenyan Coffee farms and estates offer daily tours that take you through the processing of their coffee, allow tasting, and many more. Here are the two top-rated farms to tour and where to book your tours. Keep in mind you will stay over in Nairobi the Capital of Kenya which has some outstanding hotels.

Kenyan Coffee Brands

Ultimately, the “Best” Kenyan coffee will depend on individual taste preferences, but these three brands are a great starting point for anyone looking to experience the unique and flavorful qualities of Kenyan coffee.

  • Black Ink Kenyan Coffee – Bold and Full of Flavor from small-scale farmers, with a bright acidity and superior quality.
  • Lifeboost Coffee Kenyan Beans – Single Origin coffee from organic farms. The coffee has a black current and citrus flavor with bright acidity.
  • RAW Coffee Company – They stock coffee from Nyeri Hill, a popular Coffee estate that sources SL 28 and Ruiru 11 varieties. The coffee has a woody, sandalwood, and Passion fruit flavor with a soft vanilla aftertaste.
  • Cooper’s Kask Kenyan Coffee – A single-origin coffee from the Kask region in Kenya. The coffee has a bright acidity with blackcurrant and lemon notes, and a very smooth and sweet finish.
  • Volcanica Kenyan Coffee Beans – A high-quality arabica range of single-origin coffee from small farms in Kenya. The coffee has a medium body with a smooth finish
  • Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC Kenyan Coffee – The freshest and highest quality coffee beans from single-origin, small farmers in Kenya. They offer a few varieties of AA-graded coffee beans.
  • Naivo Café Kenyan Coffee – They specialize in Arabica Filtered roasts of the Ruiru 11, SL 28, SL 34, and Batain varieties.

You can get any of these coffees online, directly from the manufacturer’s shop, or from other retailers such as Amazon.

Kenyan Coffee Served in the US

For my Coffee connoisseur friends from the US, I have some great news, all Starbucks serve Kenyan coffee blends, especially in their Iced-Coffee ranges, which is said to bring out the flavors even more.

Did you know that Starbucks ideally owns many coffee farms around the world, including some Kenyan farms?

Other than that you can enjoy a cup of coffee straight from the Nyeri Hills Estate Kenya, in the Tequesta Fashion Mall i n Tequesta, FL 33469, USA, from Oceana Coffee Café. Their Kenyan coffee is said to have notes of pomegranate, apricot, plum, cherry, and bergamot tea, and you can even purchase your favorite brew from their site or store.

Journeying through Kenya, you can see why they are rated as having the world’s 3 rd finest coffee, and the finest in Africa their coffees have the most unique and complex flavors that I have come across so far. Their harvesting and Processing methods are meticulous and their coffee has the finest quality grades. Taking a tour through Kenyan coffee estates will surely be the experience of a lifetime.

Coffee Farm Tour: One of the Best Things to Do in Kenya

Table of Contents

The Wonders of Kenyan Coffee

I was astonished to find out that Kenya wasn’t the biggest coffee producer in Africa. Back home, most of the imported coffees were from Kenya (apart from South American countries).

In fact, I booked a coffee-farm tour in Kenya solely because I thought they were the biggest coffee producer in Africa.

Kenyan Coffee Farm Tour

That just goes to show how well-known Kenyan coffee is, internationally.

And the reason is its quality.

The acidic soil in the highlands of Central Kenya, coupled with just the right amount of sunlight and rainfall provide excellent conditions for coffee plants to thrive. Kenyan coffee is known for its full body, intense flavor, and fragrant aroma with subtle notes of cocoa.

In 2012, it was estimated that there were about 150,000 coffee farmers in Kenya, and at least six million Kenyans who were employed directly or indirectly in the coffee industry.

So, your trip to Kenya wouldn’t be complete if you don’t pay a visit to one of the coffee farms in this beautiful East African country.

How to Book a Coffee Farm Tour in Kenya

If you’re in Nairobi, your best option is to go to Mbumi Coffee Estate in Kiambu. Booking can be made on  Airbnb  app/website or by clicking on this link .

At the time of writing, this tour has had close to 200 positive reviews. I have checked other tours on various booking platforms, but this one is the top-rated one so far.

What to Expect on the Coffee-Farm Tour

Getting there.

Mbumi Coffee Estate is located in a district called Kiambu , 16 kilometers away from Nairobi. Depending on traffic, it could take you around 30 minutes to get there from Nairobi city center.

Boda boda in Kenya

The easiest way to get to the coffee estate is by Uber or boda-boda’s , which are motorbike taxis that you can either flag down by the roadside or book through online apps such as Uber Boda and Safe Boda.

It’s also possible to take a bus from Nairobi, but you need to know where to stop, and from the bus stop, you still have to continue the rest of the way by motorbike.

Susan of Mbumi Coffee Estate Kiambu Kenya

I chose boda-boda, much to the horror of Susan the host, who said she would never let her children ride on one.

Little did she know that the roads and motorcycle taxis in Nairobi actually felt a lot safer than in neighboring Uganda . And I had taken boda-boda all the time when I was in Uganda.

Susan and her husband had lived on the Mbumi Coffee Estate for over 20 years. That was where they raised their 3 children. Her husband was the one who ran the day-to-day operations of the family coffee farm, and eventually it rubbed off on her.

Now, she combines her passions for coffee and meeting new people to allow visitors to discover the uniqueness of Kenyan national treasure.

Unfortunately, Susan wasn’t able to show me around on that day as she had to pick her children up. So, she placed me in the care of her assistant — Stanley — and assured me that I was in good hands.

The Coffee Farm

Mbumi Coffee Farm

Kenya’s coffee industry brings in about US$200 million per year, making it the country’s third largest export, after flowers and tea.

Unlike the bigger coffee producers in Africa, the coffees produced in Kenya are still 100% hand-picked, ensuring only the best quality — which explains why they produce less, and which is also why they are the coffees of choice for the international market.

Visiting a coffee farm in Kiambu, Kenya | Ummi Goes Where?

Stanley taught me to differentiate coffee berries, coffee cherries, and coffee beans. We picked a few coffee berries of varying ripeness so that I could compare them.

The green, unripe ones were almost impossible to peel, while the ones that were so ripe that they turned black peeled easily but were very dry inside.

I was surprised to know that the beans — before being roasted to its familiar brown form — were actually whitish in color, slightly slimy, and sweet.

The Coffee Factory

Next, we moved on to the coffee factory.

Coffee drying beds

From there, they flow into fermentation tanks, where they are de-hulled, and the natural enzymes of the coffee cherries will loosen the slimy layer surrounding the beans, thereby giving Kenyan coffee a very unique flavor. Note that this fermentation stage is often skipped in many other countries.

Roasting My Own Coffee

The factory didn’t only contain heavy machinery, it also housed piles of burlap sacks filled with coffee beans of various grades. Stanley scooped up a handful of the best ones for me to roast and bring home.

To roast the beans, we had to go to the roasting room next to their office. There were two roasting machines — one small and one industrial-grade. Since we were only roasting a small amount, we used the smaller one.

Before we began, Stanley made me choose between medium roast and dark roast. To make the dark roast, we would have to roast the beans longer and at a higher temperature. He showed me samples of the finished products as below:

Medium roast Kenyan coffee

At first, I went for dark roast because it was more aesthetically pleasing and had a much stronger smell.

However, Stanley had a different opinion. He said that the dark roast was better as whole beans. If we ground it, it was going to lose its scent and flavor much faster. Since I wanted my coffee grinded, it was best that I made a medium roast.

Well, I had to trust the expert.

Roasting my own coffee at Mbumi Coffee Estate Kenya

Coffee and Cake on the Rooftop

Hi-tea at Mbumi Coffee Estate

There was a long table already laid out with two sets of baked goodies, fruits, and a jug of freshly brewed coffee.

Accompanying our meal was a picturesque view of the coffee farm. It was hard to realize how vast it was until you saw it from a high vantage point.

When we were done, we went back down to the roasting room and packed the coffee.

Stanley helped me call for a boda-boda to take me to the main road, and from there, I continued the rest of the way back to Nairobi on a matatu (public bus).

Final Thoughts on the Kenyan Coffee Tour

Kahawa Coffee Factory | Ummi Goes Where?

Truthfully, I’m not that much into caffeinated drinks. Coffee, especially, tends to give me a headache, a gassy stomach, and palpitations. But I would still give it a go every now and then, because who could resist the smell, right?

Besides, I love experiences like this one where you can actively participate, instead of just watching and listening. This coffee-farm experience gives you all of that, plus a souvenir to bring home to the coffee addicts in your life — if you’re not one yourself.

So, if you’re in Nairobi, you should definitely visit this coffee farm in Kiambu. Make sure you bring your own camera, comfortable walking shoes (preferably sport shoes), a hat, and arrange for your own transportation to and from the venue.

Have you visited any coffee farm before? Where did you go? Share your experience in the comment section below.

coffee tours kenya

bestnya dapat travel tempat2 macam ni. mesti bau wangi je kan kalau stay kat kilang die. best tu bau coffee yang baru nak buat

Actually masa kat kilang dia tu takde la bau coffee sangat. Masa roasting tu je bau. Tapi best la tour ni. Especially untuk peminat kopi. Saya yang bukan coffee fan ni pun enjoy. 🙂

coffee tours kenya

rajinnya travel! so envy especially tengok kopi tu terus rasa nak buat coffee now. thank you for the sharing!doakan my turn untuk ke sana pula

Hehe, rajin ke? Dah memang hobi. 🙂 Semoga Khai pun berkesempatan untuk ke sana juga nanti.

coffee tours kenya

Bestnya dapat tengok ladang kopi siap dapat tengok cara buat.. Nampak beza kopi sana.. Like you bercerita, dari pergi, berapa harga, perjalnan..

Oh, beza ya? Saya pun tak tau bezakan sebenarnya. Terima kasih, Nadia. Semoga info2 yang saya share di sini bermanfaat bagi mereka yang ingin pergi ke sana.

coffee tours kenya

Wow semua nama unik. Teringin juga nak sentuh pokok kopi dengan biji yang tak proses lagi. Pernah tengok daun teh dalam proses je

Saya pun sebelum ni tak pernah tau rupa biji kopi sebelum diproses. Selalu tengok yang dah dibakar je. Coffee tour di Mbumi ni sangat complete sebab kita ditunjukkan dari peringkat semaian sampai la jadi serbuk kopi yang sedia untuk diminum

coffee tours kenya

This is interesting and nice activity bah to gain knowledge about coffee.. I been to the small scale Luwak coffee tour at Bali last time. Can try this also!

Ya Kitkat, I’ve also been to the kopi luwak tour in Bali but that felt more commercialized, more like a coffee shop tour than a factory tour. This one in Kenya was more informative. If you go to Kenya, put this on your to-do list 🙂

coffee tours kenya

Bagi saya kopi adalah terapi , tak minum lagipun bau dia dah cukup menyegarkan dan menenangkan hati dan perasaan. Ni kalau kongsi kat group FB Peminat Kopi mesti best. Manalah tahu satu hari nanti bila semua kembali normal bolehlah datang situ melawat ladang kopi dan kilangnya….

Saya minum kopi juga but not a true fan la. Cuma saya memang minat tour yg involve food and drinks macam ni. Feel free to share this in the coffee lover groups if you’re a member. Would really appreciate it 🙂. Thanks, Saidila!

coffee tours kenya

Bagusnya tour ni sebab kita boleh involve in the process. Tak semua tempat boleh offer pengalaman macam ni sebenarnya.

Betul Ana, saya suka tour yang interaktif macam ni, yang mana kita pun boleh involve sekali, bukan setakat tengok dan dengar saja.

coffee tours kenya

thanks for sharing this coffee farm visit, I am a coffee lover so enjoyed reading here to learn much more about coffee 😀 cheers, siennylovesdrawing

Glad that you enjoyed reading this, Sienny. It was an enjoyable and informative tour even for a non-hardcore coffee drinker like me. 🙂

coffee tours kenya

Besarnya sampai 150 ekar ladang kopi dia! Mesti ramai pekerja dekat situ. Selalu tengok dalam iklan biji kopi dah coklat dah rupanya yang asli warna putih. Bestnya dapat experience merasa kopi Kenya!

Ya, Farhana, memang luas ladang ni. Tapi masa saya pergi tu tak nampak pun pekerja dia sebab dah tengah hari. Diorang kerja awal pagi. Saya pun ni baru kali pertama tengok biji kopi sebelum diproses. Putih rupanya dan agak manis. Langsung takde bau atau rasa kopi. Kalau pergi ke Kenya atau mana2 negara pengeluar kopi, mesti cuba pergi tour ladang dia. 🙂

coffee tours kenya

Selalu pg tea farm.. ni mcm menarikla pula.. coffee.. bestnyaa dapat tgk dr dekat

Ya, Ayu. Tea farm dah biasa kan, kat Cameron Highlands. Sesekali kita pergi coffee farm pulak. Bukan setakat boleh tengok je, malah boleh cuba juga memproses kopi.

coffee tours kenya

Suka baca blog u sebab u dh gi byk giler tempat..baca pengalaman u travel terus rasa rindu nak kembali travel. Bestnyaaa coffee..

Terima kasih, Min. Semoga blog ni memberi inspirasi dan idea2 baru untuk sesiapa yang ingin travel pada masa akan datang. Saya pun rindu nak travel ni.

coffee tours kenya

Wow I can actually smell the aromatic freshly brewed coffee and the freshly roasted coffee beans.

Cara Nak Target Audience diFacebook

Yup, Kak Su. This place would be paradise for coffee lovers. The tour around the farm and factory only builds up your anticipation towards the climax — a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

coffee tours kenya

kalau pergi travel sebenarnya lagi best kalau dapat melawat kilang-kilang tempat orang produce barang and kita belajar sekali

Betul tu Messarah.

coffee tours kenya

wah seronoknya..iena tak pernah pergi lagi ladang coffee tapi pernah pergi perusahan kopi luwak dekat jogja..dapat la tengok biji coffee dari proses awal sampai akhir..

Oo bestnya. Saya pernah jugak join kopi luwak tour kat Bali, tapi diorang tak tunjuk sangat pun cara proses kopi tu. Diorang just bagitau how it’s done, lepas tu terus buat coffee tasting. More like a shop tour, actually. Nanti saya cari info lebih lanjut lagi about the one in jogja. Thanks for letting me know, Iena.

coffee tours kenya

OMG! Saya coffee lover… selalu tgk dokumentari dalam TV je kalau bab bab proses kopi apa semua ni. You have the best experience kat sana, boleh tengok depan mata.

coffee tours kenya

Ini kalau Sis dapat pergi ni, memang gilaaa laaa minum kopi dan mebeli kopi, sebab Sis ni coffee lover, suka try macam-macam kopi.. nampak nikmatnyaaa laa secawan tu..

Oh, kalau macam tu sis memang kena pergi la tempat ni, atau mana-mana ladang kopi yang lain. Dah tentu rasanya pun berbeza-beza. Mesti seronok bandingkan setiap satu.
