Tom Cruise might be known for his formidable collection of hit movies, but his real estate portfolio over the years is equally impressive. Now, the Mission: Impossible star is looking to sell one of his tony properties: a 10,285-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion with a list price of $50 million, Variety reports.

Cruise bought the seven-bedroom, nine-bath home for $30.5 million in April 2007 with his then-wife, Katie Holmes. The 1937 estate is situated on 1.21 acres, which include a lighted tennis court equipped with basketball hoops, a swimming pool, and a playground, plus a couple of guesthouses.

This isn’t the only real estate move Cruise has made lately; in March, he put his Hollywood Hills home on the market for $13 million, the Los Angeles Times reports. And last October, Cruise listed his stunning 298-acre ranch outside Telluride, Colorado , for $59 million. In 2013, The Real Deal reported that he was in contract to sell a condo in New York’s East Village that he bought in 1984, after he made Risky Business .

Skydance was founded in 2010 with David Ellison’s ambitious vision to establish a diversified media company to create high-quality content and engaging experiences for a global audience. Skydance’s independence, versatility and multi-platform approach have propelled the Company’s growth in live-action features, television, animation, interactive and new media. Today, more than 500 colleagues across two continents share David’s vision and, together, have expanded Skydance’s portfolio, creating a world-class studio on the forefront of where entertainment is heading.

The name Skydance comes from David’s love of aviation. An accomplished pilot, he took inspiration from flying aerobatics known as “skydancing” – giving his new company a name to evoke limitless possibilities.

During these early days, when the company was based out of the hangar at the Santa Monica airport, Skydance secured its first notable partnership, with Paramount Pictures, to finance and produce some of the world’s most legendary franchises.

The company’s first feature film, True Grit , was directed by the Coen Brothers, and went on to receive 10 Academy Award nominations, becoming the highest-grossing western film at the time.

The action escalated with Skydance’s next film:  Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol , where Tom Cruise held audiences on the edge of their seats as he dangled 2,700 feet high on the side of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. At that time,  Ghost Protocol  was the highest grossing film in the series – which is now currently in production on the seventh and eighth installments.

Skydance teamed up with Tom Cruise again the following year to bring Lee Child’s best-selling book series  Jack Reacher  to the big screen with Cruise starring as the hard-hitting vigilante. Cruise not only mastered fight sequences that required unique street-fighting techniques but also did his own stunt driving behind the wheel of a 500 horsepower V8-powered Chevy Chevelle.

In just three years, Skydance reached a critical milestone: its first billion-dollar worldwide box office year. In addition to tentpole films  G.I. Joe: Retaliation  and the Brad Pitt-starring  World War Z , Skydance also produced another globally popular franchise with the release of  Star Trek Into Darkness .

Soon after, the Company launched its second pillar: Skydance Television, with the goal to expand the Company’s world-building with a slate of premium, elevated content scripted series across all genres and become a leading supplier to a wide range of global streamers, premium cable channels and networks.

Skydance Television quickly broke into producing scripted content, setting up its first comedy series,  Grace and Frankie , at Netflix.  Grace and Frankie  marked the burgeoning streamer’s first original comedy series and now after seven seasons, is set to become the longest running series on Netflix. Created by Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris, and starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen  Grace and Frankie , to-date, has earned 13 Primetime Emmy® and six Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for both Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin and a Golden Globe nomination for Lily Tomlin.

Skydance Television’s first drama series, the critically acclaimed Manhattan , debuted on WGN America and went on to win a Primetime Emmy® Award – a first for the company.

The next installment of the blockbuster  Mission: Impossible franchise: Rogue Nation  premiered with Tom Cruise once again raising the bar by performing his own death-defying stunts, including hanging on the side of Airbus A400M as it takes off and flies 5,000 feet above the ground.  Terminator: Genisys  earned almost half a billion dollars at the global box office, allowing Skydance to claim a second billion-dollar milestone in only five years of operation.

Skydance continued its rapid expansion with the acquisition of a leading game developer to form Skydance Interactive. An avid gamer, it was always David’s ambition to expand Skydance’s world-building and storytelling into virtual reality and immersive gameplay. The interactive studio now brings together leading artists and technologists to create and publish original and IP-based virtual reality.

Fueling another year of box office success, the next chapters in two of the most popular franchises launched with Star Trek Beyond  and  Jack Reacher: Never Go Back  earning more than half a billion dollars worldwide.

David Ellison realized a lifelong passion by launching Skydance Animation. Its mission: to bring bold, meaningful and original stories to global audiences with a team exceptional artists, harnessing the power of animation to bring these worlds to life. The studio’s film slate now includes:  Luck , directed by Peggy Holmes;  Spellbound , directed by Vicky Jenson, with music and score composed by the legendary Alan Menken; and  Pookoo , written and directed by Nathan Greno. In addition to its films, the studio is expanding its reach by developing a number of high-quality series.

Skydance Interactive released its first virtual reality title:  Archangel . This mech-shooter game received multiple award nominations and wins, including Best in VR at E3.  Archangel  went on to launch a multiplayer update,  Archangel: Hellfire , adding new maps and mechs to this wildly popular title.

Skydance formed a strategic partnership with global communications giant Tencent, allowing the Company access to Tencent’s expertise and unmatched scale in China, the second largest media market in the world, further strengthening its global footprint. Tencent’s partnership allows for co-financing opportunities on all Skydance films in this critical global market, as well as marketing, distributing and merchandising efforts. The partnership also supports collaboration in television, interactive and virtual reality.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout hit theaters to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise’s history. Tom Cruise’s sixth turn as Ethan Hunt saw the daredevil actor perform a HALO jump from 25,000 feet in the air, among other jaw-dropping stunts.

Skydance Television continued its success, celebrating five series on-air and streaming with the season four premiere of Grace and Frankie  and the series premieres of epic sci-fi noir  Altered Carbon  on Netflix; spy-thriller  Condor  on AT&T Audience Network; revenge fantasy  Dietland  on AMC; and  Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan  on Amazon, which brought Tom Clancy’s legendary character Jack Ryan to television for the first time.

Skydance launched its fifth pillar with Skydance New Media, a division creating story-focused interactive experiences crafted as IP-based series with real-time computer graphic technology, where the user is fully in control of exploration, discovery, mystery, adventure and problem solving.

Skydance continued its longstanding relationship with Netflix with the premiere of the studio’s first streaming film, the explosive  6 Underground , starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Michael Bay. Within its first month of release, the massively popular action film was viewed by more than 83 million subscribers and went on to become one of the most popular films of all time on the streaming service.

That same year, Skydance teamed with visionary director Ang Lee for Gemini Man  starring Will Smith and reunited Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton for  Terminator: Dark Fat e helmed by Tim Miller and produced by series creator James Cameron.

With the release of  The Old Guard , Skydance landed its second movie on Netflix’s list of Top Ten Most Popular Films – and is notably the only studio to achieve this milestone to date.  The massively popular and critically acclaimed action movie was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Greg Rucka, and stars Charlize Theron and KiKi Layne.

To exceptional reviews from both fans and media alike, Skydance Interactive launched the top-selling, award-nominated The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners , a virtual reality game that allowed players to step through the flooded streets of post-apocalyptic New Orleans and has expanded to include The Meatgrinder horde mode update and addictive downloadable content.

Skydance Animation Madrid established to create one globally integrated studio across two continents, with more than 350 animation colleagues in Los Angeles and Madrid, solidifying the studio full oversight of all production aspects across features and television, ensuring the highest quality throughout the life cycle of each project.

Skydance announced a $275 million capital raise to further expand its scope across the entertainment landscape, led by strategic investments from RedBird Capital Partners, a private investor with extensive reach across sports and entertainment, and Korean powerhouse CJ ENM and its entertainment subsidiary Studio Dragon. The partnership with CJ ENM allows Skydance to collaborate across both studios’ vast libraries to create compelling stories with worldwide audience appeal in addition to further strengthening its presence within the APAC region.

Skydance continued to grow with the launch of Skydance Sports to develop premium sports related scripted and unscripted content, documentaries and events.

Skydance Animation formed a multi-year deal with Apple to produce premium features and theatrical quality series for the streamer. In addition, the studio’s inaugural animated short, Blush , premiered at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival. The animated short from writer/director Joe Mateo went on to receive critical praise as well as a number of accolades and nominations.

Skydance New Media announced a partnership with Marvel Entertainment for their first project: a narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game featuring a completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe.

The Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt and Yvonne Strahovski premiered and became the most streamed movie during its opening weekend on Prime Video. The studio also released Without Remorse starring Michael B. Jordan and Snake Eyes starring Henry Golding.

Skydance Television released the first season of the epic sci-fi saga Foundation. The show quickly became a global hit and went on to receive two Primetime Emmy Nominations along with two VES Award wins.

The highly anticipated film  Top Gun: Maverick  broke numerous box office records including becoming the highest gross domestic film of the year. The film received universal praise from fans and critics and landed countless award nominations and wins. In addition to winning the Oscar for “Best Sound,” the film received a total of six nominations at the 95 th  Academy Awards including one for “Best Picture,” the film also won the People’s Choice Award for “Best Action Movie of 2022.”

Skydance expanded its relationship with Apple by entering into a multi-year, live action first look deal with the streamer to produce an annual slate of premium feature films.

Skydance premiered The Adam Project starring Ryan Reynolds on Netflix which became one of the streamer’s most popular films of all time and went on to win the People’s Choice Award for “Comedy Movie of 2022.” The studio also released The Greatest Beer Run Ever , starring Zac Efron and Russell Crowe and directed by Peter Farrelly, which debuted at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival before premiering on Apple TV+.

Skydance Television released the first season of Reacher on Prime Video. Based on the book series by Lee Child, Reacher was a massive hit and received a swift season two renewal. Fans also bid a heartfelt farewell to Grace and Frankie, which with the release of its final episodes, became the longest running series in Netflix history.

Located along Mulholland Drive, this mansion lies in the core of a splendid 2.5-acre estate overlooking the Sunset Strip and Hollywood Hills. The entire estate was redesigned, likely by Tom Cruise, in 2006 and features wide-plank wood floors and Venetian plaster walls. The property boasts three en suite bedrooms and comes with brightly illumined living spaces with vaulted ceilings and European-styled decor. There seem to be other interesting elements, including an attractive chef’s kitchen, alfresco dining terraces, and a three-acre garden with a lagoon-style pool. Moreover, the extensive use of glass windows permits a sweeping 180- degree view across Los Angeles. This property also has a self-contained, four-bedroom guesthouse. This former property of Tom Cruise was priced at a hefty $13 million.

Tom Cruise is looking for some real estate action

• Show more sharing options

Actor Tom Cruise has put a home in Hollywood Hills West on the market at $12.995 million.

Set behind gates on a knoll, the two-story European-style estate encompasses more than 2.5 acres. The main house features walls of glass that take in cityscape views, an Italian farmhouse-inspired kitchen and three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.

------------ FOR THE RECORD: Hot Property: In the March 22 Business section, an article about a property Frank Sinatra once leased in Chatsworth said that the $7.5-million estate encompassed 14 acres and had a guesthouse with its own swimming pool. The for-sale property is four acres and does not include the guesthouse or its pool.

------------ A detached guesthouse contains its own kitchen, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. A stone-clad craft building has space for a wine tasting room and cellar. Stone pathways and driveways connect the structures.

An outdoor patio sits beside a lagoon-style pool, spa and waterfall.

Cruise, 52, has long been a box-office draw, starring in such blockbusters as the “Mission: Impossible” films, “A Few Good Men” and “Top Gun.”

“Mission: Impossible 5” will be released this summer, and “Top Gun 2” has been announced. He starred last year in “Edge of Tomorrow” and will also star in the upcoming crime drama “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.”

Cruise listed his 298-acre retreat in Telluride, Colo., for sale in the fall at $59 million. His main residence is in Beverly Hills.

Michael Eisenberg of Keller Williams is the listing agent.

Rob Reiner seeks summer tenant

Rob Reiner , whose “All in the Family” role launched him to stardom in the 1970s, is the latest landlord of note to put his Malibu beach house up for lease. It’s available for the month of July at a relative bargain of $100,000.

The Cape Cod-inspired retreat, built in 1928, was offered last year at $110,000 a month and two years ago at $150,000.

Set behind the gates of Malibu Colony, the 2,755-square-foot summer spot features beamed ceilings and skylights. There’s a family room with a fireplace, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and steps to the sand.

A patio with a spa and decks on both levels take in the ocean views.

The Emmy Award-winning Reiner, 68, has had a directing career distinguished by such films as “When Harry Met Sally...” (1989), “Stand by Me” (1986) and the cult classic “This Is Spinal Tap” (1984). More recently, he was in “The Wolf of Wall Street” and appears in the series “New Girl,” starring Zooey Deschanel.

Sandro Dazzan and Cooper Mount of Coldwell Banker are the leasing agents.

Chatsworth home of fame and film

A Chatsworth property Frank Sinatra once called home has come on the market at $7.5 million.

The crooner didn’t own the estate but leased it for nearly a decade when bank heiress and original owner Dora Hutchinson, who had thrown lavish Hollywood parties at the house, moved back East.

If the place looks familiar, that’s because the Midcentury Modern-style house also was a set location in the second season of “Mad Men.”

The Farralone estate was designed by architect William Pereira, whose notable works include Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center, the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco and the LAX Theme Building.

The museum-like house is set on a 14-acre knoll that takes in 360-degree city and mountain views.

Sixteen-foot-tall walls of glass bring light into 6,661 square feet of interiors, which include a bar, a den-office, multiple fireplaces, four bedrooms and six bathrooms.

There’s a small circular pool surrounded by an expanse of lawn off the 1,000-square-foot guesthouse and another larger pool with a flagstone deck.

The property last sold in 1998 for $1.54 million. Its extensive location credits include the films “Swordfish,” “Dreamgirls” and “Ali.”

Craig Knizek of the Agency and Rodney Johnson of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties are the listing agents.

Her gypsy heart moves on

Singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat listed her house in gated Hidden Hills for sale at $6.4 million and in less than two weeks it was already in escrow.

The Santa Barbara-inspired Mediterranean, built in 2013, sits on 1.13 acre. Accessed through a courtyard entry with a bell tower, the 8,400-square-foot home features a great room, a center-island kitchen, a game room with a wet bar, a home theater, six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

A covered loggia has vaulted ceilings and a stone floor. A swimming pool with a shelf feature, a spa, an outdoor kitchen, lawn, a putting green and vegetable garden complete the grounds. There is a four-car garage.

Caillat, 29, a pop singer and guitar player, won a Grammy for her “Lucky” duet with Jason Mraz. Her latest album, “Gypsy Heart,” includes the hit song “Try.”

She bought the property for $6.1 million.

Michelle Kaplan and Kevin Godley of Pinnacle Estate Properties are the listing agents.

Fives may be his lucky numbers

Musician David A. Stewart of Eurythmics fame has bought a house in Toluca Lake for $5.55 million.

The Spanish-style home was built in 1927 by Toluca Lake pioneer and designer William Klump and sits on more than a half-acre. Recently restored and updated, the walled house has a hip interior vibe and such details as gothic arches doorways.

Some 4,800 square feet of interior space features living, family and dining rooms, a breakfast room, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist-producer Stewart, 62, has also worked with the Tourists, Shakespears Sister and Stevie Nicks.

Among Eurythmics hits were the song “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” and “Love Is a Stranger.” Stewart’s most recent album, “Lucky Numbers,” came out two years ago.

The property previously changed hands in 2006 for $4.5 million.

Craig Strong of John Aaroe Group handled the transaction.

Actress leaves without a trace

Actress Poppy Montgomery has sold her house in Brentwood for $3.856 million.

The hacienda-style home, built in 1950 and updated, is accessed through a walled and gated courtyard with a fountain.

Inside, vaulted wood-beam ceilings, three fireplaces and wrought-iron railings adorn the 3,089-square-feet home. A great room, an office, a library, a center-island kitchen, three bedrooms and four bathrooms are contained within the living areas.

French doors open to a terrace with another fireplace and a swimming pool. The quarter-acre terraced lot has lawn and vineyards. Views take in the surrounding hillsides.

Montgomery, 42, starred in the police drama “Unforgettable” (2011-14) and in “Without a Trace” (2002-09).

The actress bought the property two years ago for $3.6 million.

Clifford Rowe and Andrea Tzadik of Teles Properties were the listing agents. Laurence Young of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties represented the buyer.

From Gloria Swanson's 1918 Hollywood bungalow to Brad Pitt's Beverly Hills estate, Movie Star Homes: The Famous to the Forgotten profiles the extravagant, lavish, and eccentric residences of the rich and famous. Each of the entries includes a photo of the star and brief summation of the star's career, the address of the star's home, a photo of the home as it looks today, and fascinating facts about the residence. In addition to magnificent mansions, the homes where celebrities lived before they became famous are also featured, such as Natalie Wood's humble 1945 residence and the home of Buster Keaton before he built his famed Italian villa in Beverly Hills.

And Many Others!

Introduction When the term “movie star home” comes up in conversation, most people imagine a grand palace like Brad Pitt’s Beverly Hills mansion. But the apartment buildings on the outskirts of Hollywood where the likes of Clark Gable lived in their pre-star days are movie star homes too-albeit of a more humble variety. Movie Star Homes: The Famous to the Forgotten gives you a snapshot of the Southern California homes where Hollywood’s favorites live and have lived, dating back to the silent era. Our goal was to cover the full spectrum of homes-from the Beverly Hills mansions that are as glamorous as their celebrity occupants, to the now-frayed bungalows of old Hollywood.

Los Angeles realtors like to quip that every house in the city has been occupied by three different movie stars at one time or another. That is only a slight exaggeration. For whatever reason, actors tend to change households only somewhat more often than they change spouses. Since we couldn’t include every home of every actor who ever set foot on a Hollywood set, we established three ground rules for determining which homes made the cut.

Our first ground rule was that the home had to be in Southern California. Perhaps someday our budgets will allow us to spend a month in Tahiti looking for Marlon Brando’s grass-roofed hut (yes, he does have one).

All of the homes in this book were photographed in 2003 and 2004, which leads to our second ground rule: In order to be included in the book, the house that stands today at an actor’s address had to be the same structure that the actor lived in, even if it had been remodeled or otherwise spruced up over the years.

This rule eliminated homes like Pickfair, the Beverly Hills estate where Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, Hollywood’s reigning queen and king of the 1920s, held court. You can still drive up to the wrought-iron gates that proclaim “Pickfair” at 1143 Summit Drive, but the mansion you see behind those gates isn’t the Pickfair where Mary Pickford lived for nearly five decades. The original house was all but leveled in 1991 and rebuilt from the ground up.

Our third ground rule was that the book had to represent the huge variety of homes that have been inhabited by film stars over the years. That is why this book isn’t devoted solely to the glitzy estates. Nor, for that matter, is it weighted toward the obscure homes that often hold the most compelling stories. If the selection of homes and actors on these pages seems unpredictable or quirky, it’s because the star and/or the home had to resonate with us on some level. Sometimes we were struck by the fragile and forlorn quality of a certain structure (like the downtown Los Angeles building where Rudolph Valentino lived in 1919), and wanted to document its existence before a wrecking ball erases it from the landscape. But just as often our decision about who and what to include after the first three rules were satisfied came down to a sixth sense that defies explanation. That is what makes this ultimately a highly personal book, and one that we hope will contain many happy surprises for you, the reader. We’re grateful to our publisher, Jeffrey Goldman, for allowing us to keep it that way.

Unearthing these addresses and confirming their accuracy sometimes required painstaking gumshoe detective work. On this note, we wish to salute Steve McQueen, whose Solar Drive address took hours of tedious research to find and authenticate. Just as his Great Escape character, Captain Virgil Hilts, almost eluded his captors, McQueen almost escaped Movie Star Homes. (But Steve, we gotcha!)

From the day three years ago when we first realized that there is a treasure trove of movie star homes to be discovered and rediscovered, we’ve gotten a kick out of the residential discoveries that seemed to be waiting for us around every corner.

We hope that you’ll find a few surprises of your own as you take your tour of Movie Star Homes: The Famous to the Forgotten .

A few “housekeeping” notes: The houses in this book are organized alphabetically by the actors’ last names. Each entry includes a brief profile of the actor, the street address of the featured home (in some cases you’ll find two homes for one actor), a photo of the home as it looks today, and facts or anecdotes about the home or the actor’s home life.

Many of the homes pictured in this book are in the city of Los Angeles. When a residence is located in a specific region of the city, such as Hancock Park or Bel Air, we list it as being in that region, rather than in Los Angeles. The boundaries of the various regions vary, depending on the map you consult. In the cases where a home appears to be on the border between two regions, we used our best judgment in deciding where to place it. The actors are listed by region in the Appendix, where we also suggest special “tours” you can take to find the homes of some of your favorite stars. To get detailed directions to specific homes, we suggest that you consult MapQuest or Thomas Guide: Los Angeles & Orange Counties, a map book that is available at most bookstores.

Regarding when the actors lived in the homes featured in this book: We provide only the years for which we could confirm the actors’ occupancy. Some may have lived at a particular address for a longer period of time.

One last, but important, note: Please respect the privacy of the occupants of the homes listed in this book.

“It was only a matter of time before we outgrew the map to the stars’ homes. Just as the discerning cinephile has moved beyond the MGM classics, say, to B-grade horror flicks, so it goes with celebrity residences: At some point, Pickfair is just too obvious. With the book “Movie Star Homes: The Famous to the Forgotten” (Santa Monica Press), co-authors Judy Artunian and Mike Oldham have taken the “Ramon Novarro slept here” inquiry to the next level. . . . These homes may not be glitzy enough for coffee table books or magazine spreads, but they’re pay dirt for the insatiable Hollywood archeologist.”      — Los Angeles Times

“It’s rare when a travel guide makes itself as meaningful at home as on vacation. This is one of them. More than 350 film stars past and present, from who’s who to who’s that?, are listed here with their photo, film credits and a picture of a home where they once lived or still do. . . . The book is as much a trip down Memory Lane as it is through Hollywood.”      — Chicago Tribune

“ Movie Star Homes is not the first book on the topic — you can get pamphlets on movie star homes on any street corner in Beverly Hills, not to mention Encino — but it’s easily the most comprehensive book on the subject I’ve ever seen, encompassing everything from the silent days to the modern era. Authors Judy Artunian and Mike Oldham have done a yeoman job.”      — Palm Beach Post

It doesn’t take long, as you read the descriptions and pore over the photographs, to appreciate the detailed research and detective work that went into Movie Star Home. . . .Their careful selections, combined with photographs and biographical sketches of each actor result in a fascinating mosaic of Hollywood history and style from the early 1900’s to the present.”      — RoadTripAmerica.com

“A new book for those bitten by the “Sunset Boulevard” tourist bug is always welcome and this combination guide and history book is a gem. There are maps as well as indexes (by area, by film, by theme) to help you design your own tour of the homes and stars that interest you. Each home has a short history of the stars who lived there along with other fascinating trivia. The stars featured are from all eras of movie-making, right up to the present day. Authors Judy Artunian and Mike Oldham spent hours doing painstaking research to discover and authenticate some of these addresses. Film fans and scholars will enjoy their work for years to come.”      — BusterKeaton.com

The property also boasts nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a children's playground and guesthouses

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has finally sold his sprawling Beverly Hills mansion for $40 million.

The 53-year-old actor has offloaded his second Los Angeles home, less than a year after he sold his Hollywood Hills estate for $11.4 million.

TMZ reports that Tom originally put the house, which he bought in 2007 for $32.5 million, on the market for $45 million but he slashed $5 million off the asking price in order to sell.

The property features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a children's playground and guesthouses.

Last year Tom sold his estate in the Hollywood Hills for $11.4 million - almost two million less than the asking price.

The actor finally managed to flog the luxurious property, situated in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, two years after it went on the market, after it failed to sell for the original listing price of $13 million.

The gorgeous home, which boasts stunning views of the city below, is complete with a huge outdoor paved terrace perfect for those warm evenings watching the sun go down.

Three large bedrooms, each featuring en-suite bathrooms, with high ceilings and stylish interiors make up the house, while the farmhouse-style kitchen with a white butler sink and plenty of storage space sits in the heart of the home.

The spacious living room comes with a large open fire and a white marble-effect surround, while the white wooden ceiling beams and light decor adds some character to the place.

A large outdoor pool sits in the back garden, ideal for the summer months, and a luxury spa provides a relaxing environment after those long, tiring, days at work.

A wine cellar is situated to the side of the house and provides plenty of storage for those bottles of booze, while the nearby tasting room offers a tranquil place for afternoon meetings and early evening gatherings.

The estate also comes with a huge guest house, boasting four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a kitchen, for when relatives stop by for a mini vacation, according to Zillow.

And he also put his Colorado home, which he bought in the '90s during his marriage to Nicole Kidman, on the market for $59 million because he no longer uses it.

People all over are fawning over him and his co-stars in the film.

Many years after the first Top Gun movie, this new film came out and people were excited but naturally skeptical. It is hard to make a second film match or be better than the first, and this film has done it. Jamie was also born in Santa Monica, so she has enjoyed going through life with Santa Monica as a consistent place of feeling at home.

Being able to grow in her career, her marriage, in her role as a mother, and as a wife, being able to accomplish that in the same place you grew up is a remarkable thing that not everyone gets the privilege of doing.

6. Josh Brolin

This is shown by all three of the Spider-Man actors coming together in the same universe, and getting to understand the extent of the multiverse. Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield all came together in the film, and it made audiences scream in excitement to see them together. Tobey started the journey that all three of them went on, and it is definitely worth watching.

8. Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann

They have two kids, so behind all the cameras and glamour, you can tell they are loving parents who understand all the parenting struggles all parents face. They have many cute interviews online together of them talking about their marriage, what works, and how they met and fell in love! They are great, entertaining, and good examples of what everyone should want in their marriage.

Fans of "Top Gun" actor Tom Cruise have the option of moving into the star's home, if they're willing to pay top dollar.

Cruise has listed a 2.5-acre Hollywood Hills West property at $12,995,000. The home is rumored to have been a secluded retreat for members of Cruise's Scientology faith, said Alec Traub, a Redfin real estate agent in Los Angeles.

"Cruise's stunning European-style villa sits on the top of a hill, behind tall gates and at the end of a long private driveway," Traub said. "Trying to get a look at it from the street would be 'Mission Impossible!'"

Combined, the main home and guest home total 7 bedrooms and 6.75 bathrooms. There is also a parking garage with 10 spaces and a separate building that could be used as a wine cellar and tasting room. The outdoor retreat includes a patio, heated pool, spa and waterfall.

"It has the feel of an Italian farm house, albeit a very luxurious one," the Realtor said.

According to Redfin, breathtaking views of Los Angeles can be seen from outside and from inside through the glass walls.

Where Does Tom Cruise Live And How Big Is His House?

Tom Cruise at the 2018 "Mission Impossible -- Fallout" premiere

With a  net worth of $600 million , Tom Cruise and the word "movie star" are practically synonymous. Given his impressive resume, spanning from his breakout 1983 role in "Risky Business" to his ever-more-momentous "Mission Impossible" blockbuster franchise, the actor has not stopped making the big bucks for both himself and everyone around him — with his films earning hundreds of upon hundreds in the three decades he's been a star.

Like many of Hollywood's biggest stars, Cruise's life story was as close to rags-to-riches as they come. "For years, all I had were a bed, a desk and a chair," Tom Cruise told Roger Ebert in 1986. "When I was making a movie, they put me in hotel rooms. Between jobs, I moved back into my apartment, and my lifestyle dropped considerably." Coming from an underprivileged childhood, Cruise quickly learned the value of hard work no matter one's net worth.  "It's a strange thing, being handed so much power," Cruise also related to Ebert.  "My point of view and my values haven't changed. Everybody wants to push and pull me, but I refuse to change my lifestyle."

Nonetheless, Cruise's lifestyle has changed on the surface at least. Given that he has no doubt ditched that scarcely decorated apartment for cushier digs since, let's explore just where and what type of home Cruise inhabits these days!

Tom Cruise's penthouse is cool — even for Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has called Florida his home base since 2018. Per Architectural Digest , Cruise fetched a pretty $55 million when he sold his Los Angeles and New York properties in 2016, moving into a multimillion-dollar penthouse in Clearwater, Florida. Planned by a wealthy Scientologist — Cruise is controversially tied to the religion — the 10-story SkyView condominium is one block from the Church of Scientology, per People . With Cruise reportedly close friends with church leader David Miscavige, a source told the outlet that the movie star was "very relaxed when he's here."

In addition to occupying the entire top two floors, according to AD, Cruise's pad packs amenities like a roof deck, a nearly 40-foot pool, a bar, and more. What sets the pad apart from other celebrity dig, however, is the passageway that leads to a private, smaller condo on the second floor (which houses a flight simulator, for one). Additionally, there is a nine-car garage and private car elevator (what a cool phrase to say). Now that's  on par with expectations for the "Mission Impossible" star.

Tom Cruise sold his vacation home in Colorado for millions

Although Clearwater, Florida, might be Tom Cruise's personal headquarters, he also owns property in West Sussex, England — for one. Per The Sun , the estate was purchased by Cruise in 2006 for a reported $4.2 million. Bearing the regal title of "Rede Place," the property is located in Dormans Park, East Grinstead, which is reportedly close to the British headquarters of the Church of Scientology. Boasting 14 acres of land and an 11,331-square-foot interior, per insider , the manor was constructed in 2003, meaning Cruise would likely be one of its very first owners.

Cruise parted ways with his longtime 320-acre Telluride, Colo. ranch, which was reportedly a vacation refuge frequented by Cruise with ex-wife Katie Holmes and his children. Putting the ranch on sale for $39.5 million in March, per Forbes , the home sold without a hitch two months later for the asking price . Ardent followers of Cruise's career might remember this was the shooting location for a follow-up to his infamous 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey , as noted by  Town & Country . However, Cruise's Telluride ranch's main draw, aside from being a ski haven known for its celebrity denizens, is the cozy seclusion it provides for the uber-famous. No wonder it sold so fast!

Tom Cruise Is Planning a Move to Florida After Selling His Beverly Hills Mansion for $40 Million

"Tom has long planned to leave L.A.," a source tells PEOPLE. "It's not the center of his life anymore"

After selling his Beverly Hills mansion for a whopping $40 million, Tom Cruise is looking toward the Sunshine State for his next home.

The Mission Impossible star’s Los Angeles compound, which he shared with Katie Holmes during their six-year marriage, is currently in escrow after selling for $40 million, a real estate source tells PEOPLE. Cruise bought the property in 2007 for $30.5 million.

For his next home, the globetrotting actor is looking to continue planting roots in Florida, specifically in the city of Clearwater where Scientology s headquarters are located.

“Tom has long planned to leave L.A.,” says a source. “He doesn’t need to be there for work – he’s off doing movies all around the world. It’s not the center of his life anymore.”

As for what he’s leaving behind, the Beverly Hills manor will not be easy to replace. The property boasts over 10,000 square feet and includes seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a motor court that encircles a large fountain, a children’s playground, lighted tennis courts with basketball hoops, a lap-length swimming pool and two large guests houses, according to previous reports. The buyer is multi-billionaire Leon Black, a New York-based financier, according to TMZ .

The real estate sale is just the latest property Cruise has unloaded in recent years. Last September, he sold another compound in the Hollywood Hills to Eva Longoria for $11.4 million, according to Variety .

The website also notes that the actor sold his nearly 2,200-square-foot apartment in New York City’s East Village for $3 million in 2013. His 298-acre ranch near Telluride, Colorado, remains on the market for $59 million.

Tom Cruise mansion, Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise home

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He has starred in major film franchises such as Mission Impossible, Jack Reacher , and Top Gun. He's also been featured in hit films like Jerry Maguire, A Few Good Men, and many others. He is also a four-time Oscar nominee. With a decorated acting resume, he can afford to live in private luxury. An example of this is Tom Cruise's $39.5 million former mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

Around the '90s when Cruise was still establishing his presence in the Hollywood scene, he acquired a nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion situated in the Rocky Mountain neighborhood. The Oscar nominee purchased the property for an undisclosed amount.

Fast forward to 2014, Cruise became open to the idea of selling the Rocky Mountain mansion. As a result, he initially privately listed the property for $59 million. But due to sentimental reasons, Cruise never fully pushed through with the public listing until 2021. After just two months on the market, Cruise sold the property for a cool $39.5 million.

Here are some photos of Tom Cruise's $39.5 million former mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

Outside of the home, Cruise probably didn't have any problems getting some fresh air. Aside from the surplus of green spaces, Cruise also enjoyed views of jets coming from and going to the Telluride Regional Airport from atop a hill. Moreover, the property also has a helipad nearby. With several aviation sightings, one cannot help but think about Cruise's remarkable acting performances in the pair of Top Gun movies.

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest Hollywood stars. So of course he is also one of the highest-paid actors in the industry today. Aside from his lucrative paychecks as an actor and a producer, he also enjoys a lot of earnings from his various endorsement deals. As per Celebrity Net Worth, Tom Cruise has a net worth of around $600 million.

Nevertheless, this is all the information that we have on Tom Cruise's $39.5 million mansion in Telluride, Colorado.

But if you feel lucky and you're even in the ballpark, feel free to make an offer.

Tom Cruise’s Colorado house for sale: actor lists 320-acre ranch he helped design for £29 million

tom cruise house santa monica

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is selling the 320-acre Colorado mountain ranch he helped design, with an asking price of $39.5 million (£29 million).

Located in the celebrity-favourite ski town of Telluride, the 10,000 sq ft, four-bedroom home comes with its own three-bedroom guesthouse, forested trails and spectacular views of the surrounding San Juan mountains.

The property hosted Cruise’s 2008 interview with Oprah Winfrey – a follow-up to the famed “couch-jumping” interview in 2005 – who was reportedly so taken with the location that she went on to purchase a home nearby in 2015. More celebrity residents of the area include Jerry Seinfeld and Ralph Lauren .

Cruise reportedly first put the estate on the market in 2014 for $59 million (£43 million), but has now lowered the asking price after the property failed to sell.

The home boasts a gym, recreation room, two wood-burning fireplaces, and a library, as well as bleached cedar timber cladding throughout and nine full bathrooms across the two houses.

The secluded property can be accessed via a secure gate located a one-mile drive away from the main house.

Considered a year-round outdoor pursuit haven, Telluride boasts world-class skiing; golf courses; facilities for rock climbing, horseback riding, and 4x4 Off Roading; as well as ample opportunities for hiking, cycling and camping.

'Sounds desperate': Internet slams Tom Cruise as he reportedly wishes to 'explore relationship' with Monica Barbaro

L OS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following rumors that Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova declined Tom Cruise's proposal , sources claimed that the 61-year-old is already looking for her replacement with his 'Top Gun: Maverick' co-star Monica Barbaro.

It seems the apparent love between the Russian socialite and the Hollywood icon has died now. However, they continue to remain friends as they share the same apartment block in London, per The Sun .

Tom Cruise allegedly seeking 'stunningly beautiful' Monica Barbaro

In 'Top Gun: Maverick', Monica Barbaro played Lieutenant Natasha 'Phoenix' Trace, a naval aviator who underwent training on the F/A-18F Super Hornet and was an alumna of the US Navy's Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Program, or TOPGUN.

Now, a source exclusively said of the 33-year-old to In Touch Weekly , "Tom thinks she's stunningly beautiful. He'd like to explore a relationship with her."

And it would be ideal if love blossomed. "People around Tom believe they're a great match," the insider continued. "But he genuinely wants her to succeed."

According to the insider, Barbaro is "flattered" by the attention. "But she wants to prove that she's deserving of the role."

The insider added that Cruise has already had some influence on her career, having helped to cast her as singer Joan Baez in the Bob Dylan movie 'A Complete Unknown', directed by his old friend James Mangold.

The insider said, "Tom's mentored younger actors before - men and women. It's a very rewarding process for him."

In a 2022 interview with Elle , Barbaro expressed her happiness at being cast in such a significant role for a major motion picture.

"I was super stoked because of the fact that I got to play a pilot, and that my part in this classic action movie was not going to be that of a love interest," she remarked at the time.

Internet reacts to Tom Cruise's purported desire

Following the alleged news of Cruise's latest crush, Internet users took to the comment section of the aforementioned post, where one reader commented , "All of Tom's relationships have seemed liked business relationships - that's a min reason why they haven't worked out."

A second reader warned the gorgeous actress and wrote, "She is beautiful, and she is also a good actress. She was great in Top gun, I am sure she is deserving of all the roles that come her way. I hope she doesn't feel pressured to get into a relationship as though she owes him. If she wants to, go for up. But I really hope she doesn't feel indebted."

"She better think about it --- see what happened to his marriages and the role scientology played. A relationship with him is to be scrutinized by Scientology a controversial movement for lack of better word," warned third reader.

Another one echoed a similar sentiment and wrote, "He wants to "explore" a relationship; girl, run as fast as you can and as far as you can get from him or his "handlers""

Another user noted, "She might want to consider someone closer to her own age that she can relate to. 28 years is pretty extreme if she's planning on having kids."

"Why Tom, why? You haven't see you own daughter in 10 years so why would any woman want a relationship with you. And I did say woman. Maybe some girls would," chimed in another one.

One more added, "Of course he would like to pursue a relationship with a woman half his age. Hollywood never changes. Why do we continue to be surprised?"

"Tom sounds desperate-too bad but guess the Russian lady was smart to run," snarked another one.

Tom Cruise is waving goodbye to his $39.5 million mansion in Telluride, Colo.

For more than 25 years, the  Top Gun actor  has retreated to his vacation home in Colorado, but this winter the star will be staying elsewhere, as he sold the custom-designed estate this week. According to The Wall Street Journal , the four-bedroom house fetched the full asking price after just two weeks on the market.

The new buyers will enjoy a spacious 10,000 square foot living space, including the three-bedroom guesthouse located on the 320-acre property. When not snuggled up by the fire, guests can peruse the numerous toys available for their enjoyment, from dirt bikes to snow shoes. There's even a snowmobile track!

Additionally, Cruise had the home outfitted with an office space, a spa and a three-car garage.

The Telluride lodge was just one of the many places the 58-year-old actor has called home throughout his career. He has multiple residences across the globe, including Los Angeles, Calif. and Clearwater, Fla.

Annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon

The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills

Austin Butler and Tom Cruise at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon

It felt like old times at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, as the Annual Oscar Nominees Luncheon returned to the same room where it took place for decades after its beginnings in the 1980s. There were actors sitting next to sound mixers and directors with production designers, a record 182 nominees taking their seats in tables across three levels of the hotel’s ballroom and a “class photo” memorializing the event.

Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon

The attendees ranged from Cate Blanchett to Ke Huy Quan, Paul Mescal to Bill Nighy, Brian Tyree Henry to Kerry Condon to the biggest movie star of all, Tom Cruise, who was in the room not as an acting nominee but as the Oscar-nominated producer of “Top Gun: Maverick.” And all of them managed to fit onto the big, multilevel riser for the photograph that serves as the event’s most notable souvenir.

In other words, the afternoon was full of everything that has been missing for a few years.

tom cruise house santa monica

“It’s hard to wrap my mind around it,” first-time nominee Austin Butler said. “These are all my favorite filmmakers and actors and people I’ve looked up to and admired and studied for years, and suddenly I’m in this room with them.” The room reached critical mass quickly on Monday, with the crush of people moving depending on what luminary was where. Jamie Lee Curtis talked to Cruise, and photographers surrounded them immediately. Steven Spielberg, one of the few to wear a mask, hugged his “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” star Ke Huy Quan, and lenses pointed in their direction. Cruise met Butler and the room pretty much had a meltdown: Gawkers backed up as if to give them room, while a ring of cameras encircled the pair to document every embrace and grin.

It fell to Academy Governor DeVon Franklin to read the list of names of the 182 nominees in the room, which included all the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress nominees, all the Supporting Actor nominees except Barry Keoghan and all the Best Actress contenders except Andrea Riseborough and Ana de Armas. The roll call began with Jamie Lee Curtis and ended with Guillermo del Toro, with lots of applause for the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” contingent, particularly Michelle Yeoh, but there were few clear winners in the always-suspect Nominees Luncheon Applause Meter.

The Holdovers

One interesting sidelight: Cruise was one of the last nominees called to the stage — and despite his status as the room’s clear star, the acceptable round of applause he got wasn’t even as loud as the hand for cinematographer Roger Deakins, who followed him. — Steve Pond

The 2023 Independent Spirit Awards Nominees Brunch

Casa del Mar Hotel, Santa Monica

tom cruise house santa monica

It was a gorgeous, but slightly chilly day at the beach in Santa Monica when Film Independent had an early celebration of their 2023 Independent Spirit Awards (which actually happen on March 4) at the lovely Casa Del Mar Hotel.

The Spirit Awards celebrate independent productions, as Film Independent president Josh Walsh explained to the gathering, and they raised their Champagne Fleur de Miraval in a happy toast.

“The goal here today is very simple. It’s to come together to welcome all of the nominees for the 2023 Spirit Awards, to eat, drink, raise a glass to your accomplishments. And it is also a chance to welcome our community of friends and supporters, our circle members, everyone who’s part of the Film Independent family throughout the year,” he said. Lots of nominees attended the brunch, which featured Casa del Mar’s always fantastic food, including classics like Eggs Benedict and French toast, topped off with a groaning dessert table. And while Brad Pitt wasn’t in the crowd to help pour his Miraval rosé and champagne, nominee Paul Mescal came early and stayed late. He’s also nominated for an Oscar for best actor in “Aftersun,” so who knows, there may be a French winery in his future, too.

Cate Blanchett was the most famous face in the ballroom, but if you blinked you missed her. She popped in, took some photos and off she went. That’s the life of an A-list Oscar nominee in the run up to the big day — flitting from one thing to another with barely a chance to grab a cookie on the way through!

The 13th Annual Lumiere Awards

At the 13th Annual Lumiere Awards presented by the Advanced Imaging Society, the event honoring technical film magic maintained its recent smaller scale. The awards began as expansive affairs, with hundreds of guests, but during the height of COVID-19, it became a more intimate affair, as a luncheon held at the historic Beverly Hills Hotel. Keeping that intimate feel was a perfect way to celebrate, with the event taking on the jovial atmosphere of good friends happily coming together. Buoyed by the impressive box office returns of honored movies like “Avatar: The Way of Water” (with producer Jon Landau in attendance), “Elvis” (Baz Luhrmann took home multiple awards, including the Harold Lloyd Award presented by his lip-curling star Austin Butler) and “Top Gun: Maverick” (legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer accepted two awards), it lived up to its reputation as “The Hollywood Geek Awards.” “Technical innovation allows us to amplify the stories,” Luhrmann said in his award thank you speech.

On the animated side of things, Guillermo del Toro accepted his award for best animated feature, while “Lightyear” co-writer/director Angus MacLane and cinematographer Ian Megibben were on hand to accept the award for that animated feature’s use of High Dynamic Range, a feature MacLane joked could only be experienced at a single location in Richmond, Texas. (He got a big laugh.) And Wētā FX took home the Sir Charles Wheatstone Award for “their unparalleled contributions to motion picture production,” proven once again in 2022 with their work in “The Batman” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Meanwhile, “Babylon” director Damien Chazelle took home the Gene Kelly Visionary Award for his body of work, presented by Kelly’s widow, Patricia Ward Kelly.

“The Consultant” Premiere

The Culver Theater and Amazon Studios, Culver City

tom cruise house santa monica

Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz joined Amazon’s Prime Video to celebrate his creepily fascinating new streaming series “The Consultant,” which unspooled the first three episodes to a packed theater in Culver City, the home of Amazon Studios.

Waltz plays a mysterious consultant who joins CompWare, a game-creating software firm immediately after the owner is murdered; and very weird things ensue. “I’m having a really good time with this role,” Waltz told us with a huge grin at the after party held on the lot. “I hope you can see that!”

The party had a Mexican-food theme, one that centered around serving churros (watch the show to discover why) and cocktails that were only identified by their blue and pink hues (again, watch the show and remember in general that it’s a bad idea to drink free, unidentified candy-colored cocktails).

Waltz’s costars, including Nat Wolff, Aimee Carrero, Emily Barry and Brittany O’Grady, who paired her evening gown with crutches, all agreed that they, too, had a blast making the eight-episode series. O’Grady didn’t have quite so much fun on the slopes, however.

“I hurt my knee skiing,” she revealed with a grimace, “and it is killing me. I’m going to get an MRI soon, the doctor thinks I might have torn a ligament.”

kanye-west-taylor-swift

That didn’t stop her from being one of the last stars at the post-party, proving to us all that she’s as resilient as her character in “The Consultant.”

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival continued to unspool numerous films during the past week, as crowds gathered to enjoy the 38th edition of the popular fest. And true to form, the festival loves its tributes, holding one just about every night at the venerable Arlington Theatre in the heart of this beach community north of Hollywood.

Every year, the SBIFF honorees are very familiar faces; and every year those chosen are usually contenders for winning their categories during the soon-to-be-decided Academy Awards (coming on March 12 this year). So Brendan Fraser, who is nominated for Best Actor for his work in “The Whale,” took home the American Riviera Award for his body of work, with a surprise guest turning up to present to him. Sarah Michelle Gellar happily gave her 2007 “The Air I Breathe” costar and longtime friend his prize, to the delight of the packed house.

Delight was evident, too, on another evening, as Jamie Lee Curtis accepted her Maltin Modern Master Award from her husband, fellow actor (and writer-director) Christopher Guest. Curtis is having a banner year, finally nominated for Oscar’s Best Supporting Actress after a career of stellar performances. And Cate Blanchett turned up in Santa Barbara as well, to accept her Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, for her Academy Award nominated performance in “Tár.” She’s already got two Oscars (and a total of seven nominations), so she’s used to truly being in the spotlight in the run up to Oscar Sunday. The Santa Barbara International Film Festival concludes its celebrity-studded, 10-day run on Saturday.

Super Nintendo World Red Carpet Celebration

Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal City

The nostalgia came to life courtesy of Universal Studios Hollywood’s latest attraction, Super Nintendo World, as Mario and his video game pals truly seem to come alive in their own universe.

Lots of special guests turned out (many with their kids) to try out this latest innovative “land” within the Universal Studios theme park, including Sam Richardson, Jaime Cavill and his kids, Jordin Sparks and her son, and Brie Larson (aka Captain Marvel), who snuck away from the Disney/Marvel stable for a night of celebration and fun (she is a Nintendo ambassador after all).

The excited crowd flocked to “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge,” an interactive augmented reality ride that is sure to be a fan favorite . Super Nintendo World also features the Mushroom Kingdom, filled with interactive games and even Super Mario Bros. themed drinks. Getting an early look at this hot ticket new land meant everywhere we looked, there were more Hollywood stars and famed musicians, including Chris Pratt, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Hardwick, Anderson Paak, Chance The Rapper and the genius behind the whole thing, Nintendo game creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Everyone who loves Mario and friends can rejoice, too, as Super Nintendo World is now open to the public and found only at Universal Studios Hollywood. — Elijah Gil
