Enhance Your Trip

  • Tour Extensions

During your visit in Monreale you have the choice between two activities. Your first choice is to explore more of the Cathedral’s monastic complex during a guided tour of the cloisters with its elegant combination of Romanesque arches and Oriental decorations. Your second choice is to ascend to the Cathedral’s terraces* via the steep stairs of the southern tower for a bird-eye’s view of the monastery and Palermo's Golden Valley.

In Valletta, you have the choice between two activities. You can visit the private home of a modern-day Knight of Malta, getting a glimpse into this legendary lifestyle. Or, your other choice is to visit Valletta’s Cathedral, touring the exquisite masterpieces by the likes of Mattia Preti and Caravaggio.

Hotel-Hotel Porta Felice

In the workshop of a renowned pastry chef and author, learn to make delicious Sicilian specialties. After you meander through the historic streets of Erice, you’ll head to Maria Grammatico’s Bakery, whose life story is dictated in the novel Bitter Almonds. There, you’ll learn to prepare a traditional pastry recipe and learn the history behind the iconic Sicilian cannoli. Almonds are grown throughout southeast Sicily, the foundation of many age-old traditional recipes. Once you finally taste the fruits of your labor, you’ll understand why Sicilian pastries are so loved around the world.

You can now include pre-paid tipping into your guided tour purchase. You pay for your tipping up front, we handle the rest, and you can cross one more thing off your “To Do” list. No more running to an ATM at the last minute on tour or carrying around cash you won’t spend.

Uncover Malta’s ancient past on a visit to Hagar Qim, a megalithic temple complex that is among the oldest in the world. These UNESCO-recognized architectural masterpieces are even older than Stonehenge, dating back to 3200 B.C. Stop at Dingli Cliffs for a dramatic photo opportunity overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Then, explore the Maltese city of Mdina, layered in legends spanning millennia. Once the prolific capital of Malta, this walled city is populated by less than 300 residents and became known as “the Silent City.” Cars are not allowed past the city walls, so you will meander cobblestone streets by foot with a local expert. Discover its colorful medieval architecture and beautiful Maltese facades. You are sure to be inspired by this unforgettable region of Malta.

Out Of Africa

I am very much looking forward to my trip as I love elephants and African people. The staff have been extremely helpful with advice and have gone out of their way to provide me with information when I have had questions. Everybody was very pleasant and nothing seemed a bother for them when it came to my assistance/

We have just booked for what will be our third trip with Bunnik Tours. The process was easy. We are arriving a few days early for the trip, your consultant, Purnima, arranged for us to stay at the same hotel where the tour departs as well as airport transfers. We love your tours as they have a great mix of tour and free time, plus specialty items that you include.

Hi Julie, Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trustpilot. I'm really pleased to know that we were able to assist you whenever you contacted us with a question. Pre travel arrangements to Morocco and Spain

They got back to us quickly regarding the recent earthquake in Morocco. Initial contact with travel consultant was very good. However we were then passed to 3 other consultants to finalise travel arrangement and requested information that had already been passed on so the continuity was not great.

Date of experience : 03 September 2023

Hello Frederica, Thank you for posting a 4-star review and for sharing about your experience. I'm sorry to hear that the process wasn't as smooth as it could have been and that we requested information that you'd already provided to us. I can see that the first two travel specialists you dealt with are no longer with us and is why you had dealings with a few of our staff. While we work hard to ensure a smooth transition when taking over a booking, we acknowledge that we can improve in this regard and have communicated the need for heightened awareness of this to our Sales Team. We hope that you have a wonderful time on tour with us in Spain & Morocco! Kind regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

The Importance of a great Travel Specialist

I travelled with Bunnik last year but booked through a Flight Centre travel agency. I decided to book direct this year. My Travel Specialist at Bunnik did not provide me with a high level of service. He does not reside in Australia, so making contact by phone during business hours was problematic due to time differences. Other problems included a language barrier during phone calls and timeliness/depth of information in responses to my emails. I overcame these problems by phoning the office in Adelaide and received high quality information and advice where the employees took the time and followed up for me with my Travel Specialist. I like the wrap around support of a Bunnik tour, the types of experiences and the amazing local guides but wont book again unless I have a Travel Specialist from Australia. Thanks for your response Julie and I'm glad you're proud of your employees but I write reviews with the aim of providing feedback for improvement. Perhaps there is something useful in my feedback for improvement?

Date of experience : 20 September 2023

Hello Ngaire, I’m sorry to hear that our level of service was not up to scratch, we’ll certainly work on improving this however I assure you it has nothing to do with where anyone lives. We started our company in Adelaide and have a growing office in the CBD with upwards of 50 staff and in order to extend our operation and service we opened an office in Sri Lanka in 2014 and are very proud of both teams. Both our Adelaide and Sri Lankan operations are 100% owned by us and all staff, regardless of location receive the same levels of training and development. This training has included regular staff exchanges between the offices as well as travelling together to our destinations around the world. Our travel specialists in Sri Lanka are available from 10am – 7pm Monday to Friday, Adelaide time. This complements our Adelaide team who are available from 8.30am to 4.00pm Adelaide time. We hope that you enjoy your time in Madagascar next month! Best regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

I’ve had great travel experiences and…

I’ve had great travel experiences and service with Bunnik over the years. It’s disappointing to have had 4 different consultants assigned since we first made our booking but the service has still been good.

Hello Regina, Thanks for posting a 4-star review! We're thrilled to be having you back on tour with us soon in Japan. While we've had several staff changes over the course of your booking we're happy to hear that the service you received was not affected. Wishing you a wonderful time on tour in Japan! Safe travels, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Positive booking experience

In July, we booked our second trip with Bunnik based on positive experience last year. We depart in late October, following another easy and competently managed booking process. Chamo has again been very helpful and responsive.

Date of experience : 12 July 2023
