Awful RWC 2023

Had a dreadful experience at the rugby world cup. Had no information about departure times until the day of departure (ended up spending 12 hours in airport, apparently Cassidys MO is to charter a flight without a secured departure time slot) we started asking about the departure time weeks before, we couldn't get any information from the company. Also had to pay for our own taxi to hotel as there was no bus when we got there. The Cassidy reps over there on the ground were excellent and tried their best, but the company's main goal seems to be to maximise profit, not to ensure best customer experience. Would highly recommend just doing it all yourself, in our experience all cassidys did was make it much more expensive and troublesome.

Do I need a visa for travelling to the USA?

If you are travelling to or via the United States and if you come from a country that is part of the Visa Exemption Programme, from 12 January 2009 the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) replaces the form that has until now been completed on the plane.

If you travel to the USA from 12 January 2009, it is essential that you complete the ESTA form before you travel in order to receive travel authorization. The form must be filled out at the latest 72 hours prior to departure, but it is recommended that you complete it as soon as you plan your journey.

This procedure applies to adults and children (whatever their age). The information requested includes passport number and country of residence. In most cases, electronic travel authorization is granted online almost immediately by specifying authorization approved. It is valid for a period of two years or until expiry of the passport

How can I change my flight details

How do i change my accommodation, how do i change the dates of my stay, there is a mistake on my confirmation / e-mail / documentation, what should i do, what is an electronic ticket (or e-ticket).

Electronic tickets are stored within the airlines reservation system rather than printed on a paper copy. The service is similar to the traditional paper ticket process, but eliminates the time and hassle associated with purchasing or exchanging a paper ticket.

For flights that only require an 'electronic ticket', when you arrive at the airline check in desk you will be required to present the following items in order to receive your boarding pass:

• Appropriate identification and travel documents i.e. passport, visa if required, etc.
• A printout of your confirmation page or confirmation e-mail to present to the check in representative.
• The credit/debit card you paid with (This only applies if you are flying with SASK or Air France).

Please note: It is the passengers\' responsibility to check and obtain the relevant passport, visa and health inoculations for the country they are travelling to.

What time should I check in for my flight?

Please note that it is always best to check with the airline for accurate check in times.

We recommend that you check in at least 2 hours prior to departure for a short hall flight and at least 3 hours for a long haul flight. Please allow extra time if you are collecting any tickets e.g. TOD (Ticket on Departure).

What's my baggage allowance?

Why do some hotels require a credit card imprint on check-in.

Everything went smoothly

Everything went smoothly. We were very happy with the full package offerings, flight, transfers, hotel and rugby tickets. Our flight times were not as we originally thought. The new flight times were given only 3 days before departure so it was a bit of a scramble to make new arrangements. On another occasion it might be very inconvenient. However on this occasion it worked out. Staff were very pleasant to deal with and helpful. I would happily use Cassidy travel again.

South African Rugby Match Paris.

South African Rugby Match Paris. 1.We had no rep on arrival to Dublin Airport had to ask DAA staff for check in desk location 2. Paid extra for Category 1 tickets believing cat 1 tickets would have best views and access for elderly customers but found out cat 1 tickets are in the gods and behind goal line. So must have some weird Categories lower than 1 to have lower tiers. 3. Transfers to hotel dropped off at side of road and not told were hotel was, needed Google maps to locate. 4. Not notified on airport return transfer bus from hotel to airport, so called emergency number with no call back or attempt at communication. 5. Other traveller got the details of transfer but were 1.5 hours delayed and blamed traffic and rugby and marathon should have been understood before hand. 6. Bus dumped us off and no rep to greet bus to show or direct us too departures location half bus ended up in arrivals. So not a great experience outside the match itself at least our tickets were valid.

Ruined a dream trip to the rugby World Cup

Mistakes were made at every aspect of our trip. Payment for the trip was very messy. Cassidy kept on moving dates that payments needed to be made. We booked circa 2 years ago when the RWC matches were announced and were one of the first to make deposit for the Ireland vs South Africa game. We paid extra to upgrade our hotel to a 4 star and in the city center, however our hotel was a 3 star almost an hour from the city. No places were open for food or drink in the area at the weekend. When we mentioned this a week before the trip they said the city was sold out for the weekend and that’s the best they could do. We checked online and there were plenty of hotels available closer to the city that were 4 star. Paid extra for category 1 tickets to the Ireland vs South Africa game and we’re given seats in a category 2/3 area. Cassidy blamed world rugby for reclassification of seating zones and told us we would not be refunded for our upgraded tickets. We paid €300 per ticket despite them being €150-€200 on the official world rugby website for category 1 tickets. Our flights were moved from CDG to Orly and pushed back by 2.5 hrs 3 days before we were scheduled to travel. Cassidy gave little or no information as to why. They also moved our return flights from 4:30pm to 9:20pm with no explanation and at very late notice also.

Match great - Experience poor

The match itself was sensational. That part of the experience was great. The arrangements in Dublin airport going out were spot on! The pickup in Charles deG to go to hotel was shockingly poor. We got soaked wet waiting to identify the correct bus for us. We were told bus 4- but were told by driver that bus wasn't going via our hotel. After getting to the hotel, the voucher we had was of no use to the receptionist. After an hour waiting in wet clothes a new list came thru to the hotel and we checked in. The rest of the w/e was fine. Collection from hotel on Sunday morning...bus was due at 08:00 and arrived 08:40. I wouldnt have an issue with the wait as we had time but no communciations to inform us of bus running late. Low confidence from everything gone before it that it would come at all.

Got to Paris and hotel was cancelled

Got to Paris for RWC only to find our hotel had been cancelled. We had booked one year in advance. Cassidy Travel were very slow to respond to the "emergency" phone line and in the end we went and booked and paid for our own hotel because Cassidy's hadn't secured anything after 45 mins. Would not recommend.

Excellent experience booking golf trip

Planned a golf trip for a group through Cassidy golf. The team in Cassidy golf were very helpful in organising everything and making alterations to the booking when the group asked. My wife decided to buy me a flight from…

My wife decided to buy me a flight from Dublin to Greece in August. My wife asked for best price. My wife was sold a fifteen hour journey, 2 stops, for me, outbound 05.00 approx arriving to destination at 20.00 hoursapprox 15 hours later, the price for this 900 euro. The journey is 4 hours flying direct route A to B. I phoned to quiz this transaction and was told 'what's done is done'. Travel insurance was also purchased. 🙃
