The impact of Swift’s Eras Tour on her catalog’s streaming numbers was, of course, immediate. The week of her opening three dates in Glendale, with every new mini-revelation about the tour’s design, structure and setlist blanketing the internet like wildfire smog, her official on-demand U.S. streams jumped 50%, according to Luminate. For an artist who already streams in the hundreds of millions every week, that’s a resounding, and extremely rare, leap to make for any reason short of a new album release or a death. (It should also be said that this gain does not even account the four new “Taylor’s Version” songs she released to help celebrate the tour’s kickoff; that gain would’ve been even larger had they been included.)

But that’s not even the jaw-dropping part. The really unprecedented thing about the Eras Tour ‘s streaming impact is that the initial bump did not start receding back to its usual sea level after a week or two — it continued to grow. And grow.

What makes these gains even more staggering is that they're not limited to just a song or two, or even a single Era: it's all across the show's setlist. In fact, of the 42 songs that Taylor Swift has played at every Eras date so far, 23 of them had at least doubled in weekly streams by the tour's 10th week, and all of them were up -- except for "Anti-Hero" and "Lavender Haze," her most recent singles when the tour started, which were coming down from their popularity peaks of months earlier.

You can see the 20 biggest gainers (in terms of total streams gained) here -- from the week before the Eras Tour started, to the week of the launch, to the 10th week of the tour:

And then, of course, there are the surprise songs: an additional two songs each concert that have rotated with every live date, delighting fans in attendance and often disappointing those missing out. Those have also seen major gains, with 48 of the 50 surprise songs she'd played at her 25 live dates through the chart week of May 25 increasing in streams the week she performed them, and most by percentages well into the double digits. (Only Midnights tracks "Snow on the Beach" and "Question?" did not benefit from the Eras bump.)

You can see the 20 biggest gainers (in terms of percentage gained) below, from the week before to the week of them being featured:

Can Swift keep the momentum going for another two months of Eras in this country -- and then maybe for a brief swing through Mexico in late August and South America this November? We'll find out soon enough -- her latest influx of Midnights -related goodies may help there as well -- but certainly, her Eras success has proven so far that betting the under with Taylor Swift in rarely a smart idea in 2023.

How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Conquered the World

The pop star’s record-breaking, career-spanning show has dominated the summer, commanding attention and whipping up demand at a level thought unachievable in a fragmented age.

Reporting from Kansas City, Mo., and New York

As Taylor Swift rolled into Los Angeles this week, the frenzy surrounding her record-breaking Eras Tour was already in high gear.

Headlines gushed that she had given $100,000 bonuses to her crew. Politicians asked her to postpone her concerts in solidarity with striking hotel workers. Scalped tickets were going for $3,000 and up. And there were way, way too many friendship bracelets to count.

These days, the center of an otherwise splintered music world can only be Taylor Swift.

The pop superstar’s tour, which is now finishing its initial North American leg with six nights at SoFi Stadium outside Los Angeles, has been both a business and a cultural juggernaut. Swift’s catalog of generation-defining hits and canny marketing sense have helped her achieve a level of white-hot demand and media saturation not seen since the 1980s heyday of Michael Jackson and Madonna — a dominance that the entertainment business had largely accepted as impossible to replicate in the fragmented 21st century.

“The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania,” said Billy Joel, who attended Swift’s show in Tampa, Fla., with his wife and young daughters.

In a summer of tours by stars like Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Morgan Wallen and Drake, Swift’s stands apart, in numbers and in media noise. Although Swift, 33, and her promoters do not publicly report box-office figures, the trade publication Pollstar estimated that she has been selling about $14 million in tickets each night. By the end of the full world tour, which is booked with 146 stadium dates well into 2024, Swift’s sales could reach $1.4 billion or more — exceeding Elton John’s $939 million for his multiyear farewell tour, the current record-holder.

Swift has now had more No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 over the course of her career than any other woman, surpassing Barbra Streisand. With the tour lifting Swift’s entire body of work, she has placed 10 albums on that chart this year and is the first living artist since the trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert in 1966 to have four titles in the Top 10 at the same time.

“It’s a pretty amazing feat,” Alpert, 88, said in a phone interview. “With the way radio is these days, and the way music is distributed, with streaming, I didn’t think anyone in this era could do it.”

But how did a concert tour become so much more: fodder for gossip columns, the subject of weather reports , a boon for friendship-bracelet beads — the unofficial currency of Swiftie fandom — and the reason nobody could get a hotel room in Cincinnati at the end of June?

“She is the best C.E.O., and best chief marketing officer, in the history of music,” said Nathan Hubbard, a longtime music and ticketing executive who co-hosts a Swift podcast . “She is following people like Bono, Jay-Z and Madonna, who were acutely aware of their brands. But of all of them, Taylor is the first one to be natively online.”

Swifties have chronicled the stream of celebrity fans who have turned up each night: Julia Roberts, the New York Jets’ new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, even Flavor Flav of Public Enemy. But Swift has also made each show a news event by adding two “surprise songs,” often with headline-grabbing guests. On the July day that she put out a music video featuring Taylor Lautner, an ex-boyfriend, the actor backflipped across the stage in Kansas City, Mo., and paid Swift effusive tribute — “not just for the singer you are,” Lautner said, “but for the human you are.” The crowd registered its approval with an earsplitting roar.

The Taylorpalooza extends to every level of the news media, which began the coverage cycle by chronicling Swift’s ticketing fiasco last November, when fans — and scalpers’ bots — crushed Ticketmaster’s systems, leading to a heated Senate Judiciary hearing . Since then, seemingly no nugget of Swift news has escaped coverage, from the stars in the stands to oddities like a Seattle concert that, according to one researcher, shook the ground with an intensity equivalent to a 2.3-magnitude earthquake .

Music critics have portrayed the Eras Tour as showing Swift at the top of her game as a media-savvy, big-tent talent, a pop star with a knack for grand spectacle as well as the polished artistry of a classic songwriter.

Shania Twain, the country-pop star whose career in some ways prefigured Swift’s, caught the Las Vegas stop of the Eras Tour, a 44-plus song production that goes as long as three and a half hours. She praised Swift’s “beautiful balance” of high-tech stagecraft and intimate performance segments. “I have to applaud her,” Twain said in a telephone interview. “As a performer, I know that work that goes into it.”

The power of Swift’s fan army — and fear of crossing the star, or even appearing to — has kept nearly all of the press about the tour sunny. Though some fans (and parents) balked at the ticket prices and challenges of securing seats, most frustration was directed squarely at Ticketmaster, not Swift. After a few weeks of headlines romantically linking Swift with a frontman some fans considered to be problematic, reports spread in the celebrity pages that they had split. (Swift’s representatives declined to comment for this article.)

For fans, the shows are a pilgrimage, and a rediscovery of the joys of mass gatherings. Flights are packed with Swifties, and travelers trade stories and compare outfits — drawn from looks associated with Swift “eras” — in stadium corridors and parking lots. In Kansas City, the comedian Nikki Glaser was attending her eighth show, a commitment that she estimated has cost her $25,000.

“This year I decided not to freeze my eggs,” Glaser said. “I’m going to put that money toward the thing I love most in the world, which is Taylor Swift.”

Before Eras, Swift hadn’t been on tour since 2018. And her catalog has grown by seven No. 1 albums since then, fueled in part by three rerecorded “Taylor’s Versions” of her first LPs — a project hailed by Swift’s fans as a crusade to regain control of her music, though it is also an act of revenge after the sale of Swift’s former record label, a move that, she said , “stripped me of my life’s work.”

“Folklore” and “Evermore” expanded her palate into fantastical indie-folk and brought new collaborators into the fold: Aaron Dessner from the band the National and Justin Vernon, a.k.a. Bon Iver, rock-world figures who helped attract new listeners.

The other major tour this year that is enticing fans to book transcontinental flights, and to show up costumed and in rapture, is also by a woman: Beyoncé, 41, whose Renaissance tour is a fantasia of disco and retrofuturism. Like Swift, she is also a trailblazing artist-entrepreneur, maintaining tight control over her career and fostering a rich connection with fans online. Together with Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” a critique of the patriarchy told in hot pink, they are signs of powerful women ruling the discourse of pop culture.

But in music, at least, the scale and success of Swift’s tour is without equal. Later this month, after completing 53 shows in the United States, she will kick off an international itinerary of at least 78 more before returning to North America next fall. Beyoncé’s full tour has 56 dates; Springsteen’s, 90. (Recently, Harry Styles wrapped a 173-date tour in arenas and stadiums, grossing about $590 million.)

Outside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, fans posed for selfies and shared their ticketing ordeals. Esmeralda Tinoco and Sami Cytron, 24-year-old former sorority sisters, said they had paid $645 for two seats. A stone’s throw away, Karlee Patrick and Emily DeGruson, both 18 and dressed as a pair in angel/devil costumes after a line in Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” sat “Taylorgating” at the edge of the parking lot; they said they had paid $100 for parking but couldn’t afford tickets.

As Swift’s opening acts finished, the crowd rushed in. Glaser, the comedian, later said that of the eight shows she had been to, her favorites were the ones where she had brought her mother — and converted her to Swiftie fandom.

“Everyone is in love with her,” Glaser said her mom told her after one show in Texas. “Now I get it.”

As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Hits One Year, Let’s Take a Look at Its Staggering Numbers

O n March 17, it will officially have been one year since Taylor Swift's Eras Tour kicked off in Glendale, Ariz. In the 12 months since that fateful first show, Swift has broken untold records , made history as TIME's 2023 Person of the Year , cultivated a new legion of NFL fans , and announced her forthcoming 11th studio album— The Tortured Poets Department , out April 19—among a litany of other accomplishments.

By the end of 2023—less than halfway through its scheduled 152-show run—the Eras Tour had earned over $1 billion to become the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. During that period, every city where Swift played got a substantial economic boost from the so-called "Taylor Swift effect," a term that refers to the singer's unprecedented ability to influence consumer behavior. Following the inaugural U.S. leg of Eras, the U.S. Travel Association estimated that the tour's total economic impact likely exceeded $10 billion.

In the new year, Swift's staggering popularity seems to somehow still be on the rise. Less than a week after watching her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, win the Super Bowl, Swift played to the biggest concert crowd of her career while performing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia during the first run of 2024 Eras dates, following four shows in Tokyo.

In honor of the first anniversary of the start of the Eras Tour, we're taking a numerical look back at the biggest year of Swift's career to date.

Number of Eras shows and cities

Swift will have played 83 shows across 30 cities as of March 17. Of those shows, 53 took place in the U.S. in 20 different cities stateside. The remaining 30 were part of the Latin America and Asia-Pacific legs of the tour. By the end of 2024, Swift is set to play a grand total of 152 Eras shows across 54 cities worldwide.

Number of surprise songs

In addition to her 40-plus-song set list, Swift has played at least two "surprise songs" per Eras show. Taking repeats into account, she has performed 145 different tracks (counting mashups of repeat songs as unique entries) as her 167 surprise offerings.

Number of special guests

From MUNA to Sabrina Carpenter to Haim, Swift's Eras stops have featured 10 different opening acts. She has also brought out eight other special guests, from Maren Morris to frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, to join her on stage at various shows.

Number of people in attendance at her biggest show to date

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Melbourne, Australia

Swift played three back-to-back shows at MCG on Feb. 16, 17, and 18 that were each attended by a record 96,000 people for a three-day total of 288,000 concertgoers. Ed Sheeran, who drew a crowd of around 109,500 each of the two nights he played at MCG in 2023, still holds the venue's single-night attendance record. But that's largely due to the fact that Swift's stage setup took up more room in the arena, cutting down on the number of available seats.

Number of Eras tickets sold

Swift sold an estimated 4.35 million tickets across 60 tour dates within concert trade publication Pollstar's chart year of Nov. 17, 2022 to Nov. 15, 2023. That's an average of 72,500 tickets per show, with each ticket costing an average of $238.95. Using those numbers to extrapolate across shows played since then, Swift has likely now sold around 6.02 million tickets.

Total Eras Tour gross

Based on the approximately $17.32 million in ticket revenue Pollstar estimates Swift earned for each of the first 60 Eras dates, her total tour gross currently sits somewhere around $1.44 billion. By the end of 2024, the tour is expected to have brought in an astronomical $2.165 billion. For comparison, the second-highest grossing tour of all time, Elton John’s multi-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, sold six million tickets over the course of 328 shows to earn $939 million.

Total Eras merch revenue

Taylor Swift Fans Descend On Melbourne Cricket Ground

According to reports from different venues, Pollstar estimates Eras attendees were spending an average of $40 per person on merch at the first 60 Eras shows. That puts Swift's tour merch revenue at an estimated $240.8 million—not including non-concert day purchases—following her first run of 2024 Eras dates.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour box-office earnings

Since its Oct. 13 release in theaters, Swift's record-breaking three-and-a-half-hour concert film has grossed $180,756,269 in North America and $261,656,269 globally at the box office. An extended edition of the movie became available to rent via video on demand services on Swift's birthday, Dec. 13, followed by the longest and most complete version of the film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) , arriving on streaming on Disney+ March 14.

Number of new songs

Since the Eras Tour began, Swift has released two re-recorded albums, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version) , and one new single, "You're Losing Me (From the Vault)," for a total of 45 new songs (including re-recorded songs and vault tracks). In their first week of sales, Speak Now (Taylor's Version) , which featured one Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit, and 1989 (Taylor's Version) , which featured seven Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hits, sold 716,000 equivalent album units and 1.653 million equivalent album units, respectively. "You're Losing Me (From the Vault)" tallied 8.7 million official streams and sold 19,000 downloads in the U.S. in the first two days after its Nov. 29 debut, according to Luminate .

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will be the first to shatter $1 billion in ticket sales, making a lot of people richer: ‘The dollar bill should have her face on it’

US-ENTERTAINMENT-MUSIC-SWIFT

Taylor Swift wrapped up the first U.S. leg of her record-shattering Eras Tour this week, part one of the world-spanning concert series that is projected to become the first tour to gross $1 billion in ticket sales . According to some calculations , ticket revenue will far surpass that 10-figure mark, hitting $1.5 billion.

But even that impressive figure may be undercutting the final totals: Additional tour dates go on sale on Ticketmaster Thursday for recently announced North American shows, bringing the Eras Tour total to 140-plus dates over 20 months. It’s possible Swift could add even more shows, as she has done multiple times already, and earn even more in ticket revenue.

If—or more likely, when—she crosses $1 billion, she’ll take the crown of highest-grossing tour of all time from Elton John, who became the record-holder this year when his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour grossed over $900 million after wrapping up in June, according to Billboard Boxscore, the industry’s gross sales tracker.

The math of that billion-dollar–plus gross works out something like this: With an average ticket price of $253.56 (that’s the face value; Swift doesn’t get a cut of the astronomical resale prices), according to live music trade publication Pollstar, Swift has sold over $600 million in gross ticket sales in the U.S. alone over 53 shows (and that could be a conservative estimate given the differing capacity of venues).

While tickets are often less expensive in other countries, some international venues, like Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, can also hold more concertgoers. With over 80 dates abroad planned over the next 15 months—plus another, smaller run in the U.S. after that—Swift will easily surpass $1 billion in gross sales if she performs them all, putting her ahead of Elton John and making her the sole woman on the list of top-grossing tours.

It’s quite the feat for someone who started out as a teenager singing country songs about breakups and best friends. Over the past 17 years, Swift has become one of the richest self-made women on the planet, with Forbes estimating her net worth at $740 million in June of this year. That’s only growing the longer she’s on tour.

“She’s self-made, and it’s amazing that she’s gone from just a girl with a guitar to being a great performer and probably the most powerful entertainer on the planet, bar none,” says David Herlihy, a teaching professor at Northeastern University and coordinator of the school’s music industry program.

But Swift won’t pocket the full gross from the tour. Between the cost of putting on the show, the hundreds of people working on it, and other stakeholders, she’ll net significantly less than the total ticket sales (although she has other tour-related revenue streams—including sponsorships, merchandise, and music sales—that are also adding to her bottom line). After all, the pop star isn’t the only person behind the show—there are countless people working on the tour, from promotion to set design to logistics, who will get a cut of the tour’s revenue.

Here’s how that might play out.

A breakdown of the Eras Tour pie

Swift is managing to earn so much in such a short time (she’s expected to hit $1 billion in less than two years of touring) thanks to inflation and demand. The average $254 ticket price (and again, that’s face value) is more than double the average for her last tour in 2018. That’s in part because all concerts cost more in 2023 than they did a few years ago and because of the unprecedented demand to see her shows—since she last toured, she’s released four new albums and two rereleases (with another, 1989 Taylor’s Version , on the way). Fans are hungry to hear their favorite songs live.

“Most of the money goes to the artist. They have the power,” says Herlihy. “She actually charges less than what the market will bear, but it’s still a lot.”

The U.S. presale crashed Ticketmaster, which did not even host a general sale since tickets sold out immediately. Swift is also touring in stadiums alone, including up to six nights at a single venue in places like L.A. Many of those venues—such as MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Nissan Stadium in Nashville —have reported record-breaking attendance at the Eras shows. She has been the first act to perform more than one night on a single tour in some cities as well, increasing her total show count and adding to her revenues.

Exactly how concert ticket sales are divided up is different for every artist, venue, country and its tax laws, event size, and so on. But generally, it’s split among the artist, their management team and other employees, venues, promoters, and taxes, as well as fixed expenses like rigging, security, transportation, and so on. Artists also have to pay out songwriter royalties when they perform, and Swift, who writes or cowrites all of her songs, gets a portion of that, as do any cowriters.

Without seeing her contracts, it’s impossible to know the exact breakdown of sales. Big artists known to sell out venues typically get paid a guaranteed rate to tour a certain number of dates. But Swift is a unique artist—“stratospheric,” as Herlihy put it—so it is possible she has a unique agreement with promoters and venues, such as the guaranteed minimum rate and then an additional percentage of ticket sales beyond that.

“With someone like Taylor Swift, there’s no risk whatsoever that her tickets won’t sell out,” says Herlihy. “Oftentimes, promoters will pay her more than the face value of the tickets. She may get 110% of the face value.”

Swift took the unusual step of not reporting her nightly figures to Billboard Boxscore, meaning the numbers available are all estimates from outlets like Billboard and Pollstar , but the costs associated with a tour the size of Eras will roughly break down to this:

Pre-tour expenses

Before the tour even kicks off, artists need to pay for rehearsal space. The specifics for the Eras Tour aren’t public knowledge yet, but Swift’s 1989 World Tour required three months of rehearsals, including four weeks of stage rehearsals and 10 days of dress rehearsals, according to the documentary about that event .

Then there’s the set design. Swift’s stage transforms for each of her “eras,” or different albums, sometimes more than once for a single set of songs. The show involves three different stages, lights, LED backgrounds, stage hydraulics, and pyrotechnics, among other elements , requiring tech and sound crews to devise and operate. The 1989 Tour employed hundreds of people to make it work.

Fixed expenses

There are thousands of moving components for a tour the size of Eras, and the “fixed” expenses on a tour are many, including sound engineers, security, transportation of stages and equipment, scaffolding, catering, medical staff, dancers, backup singers, the band, riggers, hotels for the crew and drivers, etc.

The cost for many of these components, especially transportation, has increased recently, given inflation. Michael Scherkenbach, founder and president of Shomotion LLC, one of the companies transporting Eras Tour equipment in the U.S., told Fortune he was bound by nondisclosure agreements and could not discuss how much it costs to transport the stage around the U.S., but the Guardian reported that it could cost upwards of $750,000 per day.

It will likely cost more than that to transport the stage and equipment internationally, requiring cargo ships or planes to move everything. Beyoncé’s last world tour, for example, reportedly required seven Boeing 747 air freighters and more than 70 trucks.

“There’s a lot of money coming off the top,” says Herlihy. “Perhaps 25% to 40% of the ticket revenue goes to cover the expensive touring.”

In its annual report for 2022 , Live Nation Entertainment, which owns Ticketmaster and promotes artists, says it may “reimburse artists for certain costs of production, such as sound and lights.” Exactly what comes out of the promoter’s cut and what comes out of the artist’s varies from contract to contract. Swift is working with promoter Messina Touring Group , which could get a cut of the sales.

Swift will also need to pay her management company, in this case 13 Management, which is run in part by her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift.

Typically a booking agent is also involved, but Swift did not employ one for the Eras Tour—a major cost savings. The demand was so high for the concerts—see: Ticketmaster’s break down —that a booking agent wasn’t needed.

Night One Of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Los Angeles, CA

The venues themselves—the stadiums Swift performs in—take a cut of ticket sales or a fixed fee as rental income, according to Live Nation’s annual report for 2022.

They also “receive some or all of the revenue from concessions, merchandise, parking, and premium seating.” Live Nation owns and operates some venues, so the company makes money this way as well.

The impact of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour will be included in Live Nation’s 2023 annual report.

Also not included in the $1 billion–plus figure: merchandise sales. At every show—and even days before —fans have waited in hours-long lines to buy T-shirts, posters, and sweatshirts donning Swift’s face and commemorating the tour. As noted above, the venues get a cut of the merch sales, which can be as high as 30%, says Herlihy. Swift could easily pull in tens of millions of dollars from merch sales at her shows, and that’s a conservative estimate. Fans and resellers have been buying out the concert merch at every show.

“Taylor can negotiate that percentage down, so maybe the venue is only getting 20%,” Herlihy says. “She’s a merchandising juggernaut, a merchandising machine. She makes a lot of money.”

Universal Music Group (UMG), Swift’s record label, is in charge of her merchandise and also gets a cut of sales. In its earnings call for the second quarter of 2023 last month, the company called out the “Swift Lift.”

“Merchandising revenue grew 12% in the quarter, with growth in direct-to-consumer revenue, fueled by a strong performance from Taylor Swift, more than offsetting a decline in touring revenue,” Boyd Muir, UMG's chief financial officer, said on the call .

Swift also sells merch for the tour on her website and encourages fans to buy from there with a discount code provided after they attend the tour in person.

Thousands line up to buy Taylor Swift merchandise at Sofi Stadium a day before the concert series starts.

Ticket fees

The fees that concertgoers pay to the likes of Ticketmaster, primary seller for the majority of U.S. shows, can add significantly to the total price of attending. The ticketing company “generally gets paid a fixed fee per ticket sold or a percentage of the total ticket service charges,” according to Live Nation. That said, the artist also gets a cut of the fees, according to Herlihy.

Live Nation controls not only the ticket distribution for many shows, it also owns, leases, operates, or has exclusive booking rights for hundreds of venues around the world, according to its annual report. That means it can require artists who want to play in those venues to use Ticketmaster to sell tickets to those shows. Since the start of the Eras Tour and multiple screwups during the presale, that’s put them under public and congressional scrutiny, with fans and lawmakers saying it’s unfair for one company to control so much of the live events market.

Sponsorships

The Eras Tour is sponsored by Capital One , a company with which Swift has had a long relationship. Swift will get a significant payday for that, and has appeared in Capital One commercials.

The Eras Tour—coupled with the release of new versions of her first six albums—has led to renewed interest in some of Swift’s extensive catalog, resulting in increased streams as well as sales of physical vinyls and CDs.

And the tour has proved to be a brilliant marketing opportunity for another project of Swift’s— rerecording her first six albums . The goodwill from the tour is helping to make the pop star even more popular, which in turn likely boosted sales of her latest rerelease, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) , which came out last month during the Eras Tour run and sold more than her previous rerecorded albums.

Of course, UMG also benefits from the bump in records Swift has made under her contract. JPMorgan credited her album Midnights, which came out in October 2022, with generating $230 million in sales for the company—close to 3% of its annual revenues from recorded music, per Bloomberg .

Swift doesn’t get a cut of tickets that are resold on sites like StubHub, so the resale values don’t figure into the $1 billion–plus total. But resellers have made out handsomely on this tour.

“Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour demand is like nothing we’ve ever seen in the 20-plus years StubHub has been operating,” the ticket reseller told Fortune in a statement, noting she has outsold her previous tour, Reputation, 11-fold.

According to TicketIQ , a no-fee ticket seller, the secondary market average list price for the Eras Tour was $2,183 in early August, compared with an average face value of $253.56, according to Pollstar. Tickets for the U.S. dates maxed out at $499 (VIP packages cost as much as $899), and Swift opted not to turn on dynamic pricing for the sale, meaning she left a ton of money on the table, given the unprecedented demand.

Local economies

Local economies have benefited greatly from the Eras Tour, as has been widely documented , through increased consumer spending on hotels, restaurants, and more. They also benefit from taxes on the tickets, which are typically included in the face value .

And Swift herself has been generous, donating to food banks in each city she visits and giving bonuses reported to be upwards of $55 million to crew members.

Swift herself

Swift can more than afford to make such donations. While it’s unclear exactly how much she’ll take home, the singer will earn, conservatively, hundreds of millions of dollars from the Eras Tour, given all of the different revenue streams.

On ticket sales alone, the Eras Tour could surpass all five of her previous tours combined. The Reputation Tour was her previous highest gross, at $345.7 million, according to Billboard .

“The dollar bill should have her face on it,” jokes Herlihy. “She’s the point one percent, the pinnacle. If capitalism is evolution, survival of the fittest, she is the fittest.”

Taylor Swift's ‘Eras Tour' Breaks Disney+ Record for Most-Streamed Music Film After Just 3 Days

Taylor Swift ‘s Eras Tour is still breaking records, five months after its initial release. The blockbuster concert film has already become Disney+'s most-streamed music special of all time, breaking the record just three days after premiering on the platform March 14.

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the three-hour-plus project was viewed for a collective 16.2 million hours in its opening weekend. It surpasses other music films such as Swift's Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions , Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé and The Beatles: Get Back .

  • Eddie Vedder Says Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Reminded Him of ‘Punk Rock Crowds'

The "Anti-Hero" singer's movie first premiered in theaters in October, upon which it immediately became the highest-grossing concert film in history with more than $92.8 million after just one weekend. In December, Swift made a slightly expanded version available to rent on-demand in celebration of her 34th birthday, including previously scrapped performances of "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer" and "Long Live."

The Disney+ version of the film features its own set of new content, showcasing Swift's performances of "Cardigan" and surprise songs "Maroon," "Death by a Thousand Cuts," "You Are in Love" and "I Can See You" for the first time. Leading up to Eras Tour ‘s streaming debut, the pop star unveiled sneak peeks at each new surprise song one day at a time on Good Morning America .

Swift's acclaimed global trek is still going strong, more than a year after kicking off in Glendale, Ariz. in March 2023. The 14-time Grammy winner is currently taking a two-month break from the road as she gears up to release her new album The Tortured Poets Department on April 19, having just wrapped a six-night stint in Singapore. In May, she'll pick up where she left off with a series of shows in Paris.

"Just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows," she wrote in a recent Instagram post . "See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!! In the meantime I've got an album to release…"

Taylor Swift

Fifty-two dates, 20 stadiums, 10 albums, 44 songs taking up more than three hours: Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour , which kicked off March 17 at State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, is a production of epic scale.

There are nonstop costume changes, large-scale set swaps and stunts on the outrageous order of a Las Vegas residency.

“It’s almost like a different Broadway musical for each song,” Dave Brooks — Billboard Senior Director of Live Music and Touring — told The Post.

“The production quality is just so far ahead of whatever has been [done] … They’re building these very elaborate sets that they’re using for several songs as opposed to the whole concert.”

The price tag is also astronomical.

“The cost has gotta be well north of $100 million … probably a lot more than that,” said Brooks. “It’s gonna be one of the most expensive tours ever, but it will also be one of the highest-generating tours financially. So it pays for itself basically.”

And it seems to have put all of the Ticketmaster-crashing drama behind the “Anti-Hero” singer with her legion of Swifties.

Erica Gabriel, an event producer who traveled from Salt Lake City to Glendale to see the second show of the tour on March 18, told The Post that the experience was “unbelievable.”

“It literally exceeded every expectation that I had set for myself — like, by 10 times — and I already had high expectations.”

Here’s a peek inside Swift’s next-level spectacle.

Setting the stage

A gigantic catwalk stretches nearly the entire length of the stadium, the better for Swift to work the runway with an army of over a dozen dancers.

A gigantic catwalk stretches nearly the entire length of the stadium, the better for Swift to work the runway with an army of over a dozen dancers.

The process of building that stage — and all the rest of the sets — begins at the venue weeks before the pop princess launches into the “Lover” opener, “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”

For a stadium tour of this magnitude, Brooks said, “They have advance teams that can be prepping and pre-building.”

Closer to the date, a team of an estimated 90 trucks pulls into the venue to construct the sprawling scene for Swift to sing career-spanning hits ranging from her 2006 self-titled debut album to her latest LP, 2022’s “Midnights.”

“It takes two to three weeks, in my understanding,” said Brooks.

The big set piece

Taylor Swift in cabin on her Eras Tour.

One of the structures — the mossy cabin atop which Swift sings during the “Folklore” section — seems especially tricky to build and break down from city to city.

“It’s almost like you think that they’d have to have two,” said Brooks, “so they can be building one while the other is [being used].”

A daring stunt

Taylor Swift diving into a stage trapdoor on her Eras Tour.

Swift takes stage-diving to a whole different level.

Rather than plummeting into the crowd, the 33-year-old superstar plunges headfirst into a trapdoor in the stage after singing her breakout hit “Tim McGraw.” Then she appears to swim through the stadium via a water-filled catwalk before resurfacing — dry and fresh in a new costume — to perform “Lavender Haze.”

The stunt likely involves her landing on a crash mat and then using the same “rocket sled” apparatus that she employed to zoom through the stadium hidden from view during her 2018 “Reputation” Tour. Brooks credits the oceanic illusion to precisely timed, pre-filmed visuals that “are almost kind of a second performer with her up there.”

Costumes galore

Taylor Swift sings 44 songs over more than three hours during her Eras Tour.

Swift wore more than a dozen different looks on opening night, including a gold Roberto Cavalli flapper dress, a lavender Alberta Ferretti gown and bedazzled bodysuits by Atelier Versace and Oscar de la Renta.

Quick changes are key.

“All costumes are typically modified in some way that’s going to make it really easy to get in and out of,” Dan George, a onetime tour manager who has worked for Shakira and Britney Spears, told The Post. “A dress that would typically have buttons, maybe they add a zipper on it instead. Or the performer might need to have a pouch for a battery pack in a  costume. You know, little customizations that make things easier.”

A marathon playlist

Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour.

And at the end of the day, Swift— who will bring her Eras Tour to MetLife Stadium May 26 to May 28 —  is the ultimate special effect, no matter how massive the production is.

“Her endurance is really the ‘next level’ to me,” said Brooks. “The fact that she’s gonna do these marathon, three-hour-plus shows — it’s gotta be exhausting.”

George, however, notes that her style of singing isn’t as tiring as some divas’.

“Taylor is more of a stylistic vocalist. She’s got a very pretty voice, but she’s not a power vocalist. So when she’s singing live, she’s not screaming at the top of her lungs,” he said. “So it’s not, like, super challenging for her vocally.”

Still, the performance is an amazing feat.

Brooks said, “You can innovate a stage, a touring element. But you can’t really innovate the human body too much — and the person’s ability to deliver.”

Billboard Canada

Canadian Taylor Swift Fans Finally Get to Experience the 'Eras Tour'

Taylor isn't coming for another year, but her concert film is doing big numbers across canada — especially in quebec, where everyone feels like they're front row..

Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie poster

Taylor Swift

She’s got good karma. For the second weekend in a row, Taylor Swift’s concert film The Eras Tour has dominated the domestic box office. The film broke records upon release, with the highest opening ever for a concert film, not adjusted for inflation, surpassing Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never . To date, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has grossed around $130 million in North America, and that’s without screening from Mondays through Wednesdays.

For Canadian fans, this is their first chance to get a glimpse of the three-hour behemoth tour, which spans 17 years and 10 albums of her career. While the live tour began in March this year, it won’t arrive in Canada until November of 2024, where Swift is closing out the phenomenon with six performances at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. But it's not coming to Quebec (or anywhere else in Canada as of yet) at all, which makes it a unique experience for fans there. In its first weekend, it brought in $92 million in North America, and $650,000 in Quebec alone .

The film has become a major communal experience everywhere, with clips of fans dancing in the aisles and belting along with the film showing up all over social media. But there seems to be a special energy in Canada, where fans have been making the most of Swift’s silver screen outing.

@alinecastro and that is how it went #taylorswift #theerastourmovie #theerastourcanada #montreal #montrealswifties

"It was a very surreal experience," says Saskia, a 29-year-old fan who attended a Montreal screening on Sunday. "I've never been to a screening where it was almost assumed that the audience would be singing, interjecting and standing up in the aisles to dance."

This celebratory atmosphere bridges the space between movie and live show. Talking to Billboard Canada , Saskia also noticed that everyone already seemed to know the order of the songs and the costumes accompanying each section. Eras Tour gives Swifties who have been following the tour from afar on TikTok the chance to experience it together, trading friendship bracelets and dressing up like their favourite Swift eras.

“Taylor never stops, and she does it all herself,” one fan told TVA in French. Another said that Swift has been her idol since she was 11 years old. Parents and kids have also been attending the screenings together, bonding over their shared love of the star.

Sandra, 38, took her daughter Lorelai to the Montreal screening instead of trying for hard-to-get Toronto tickets in 2024, TVA reports. “The tickets are very expensive,” Sandra explains.

Saskia agrees. "Knowing that going to the Eras Tour is out of reach financially and logistically for me and many other fans, this was a special chance to feel immersed in this spectacular performance."

Instead of working with a Hollywood distributor, Swift inked a deal directly with AMC theatres to screen the movie. The film is showing in nearly 4000 North American theatres, including Cineplex theatres in Canada as part of a sub-distribution partnership. It features footage from Swift’s Los Angeles shows at SoFi Stadium. Chock-full of chart toppers and outfit changes, the Eras Tour movie is a testament to Swift’s global superstardom and the many iterations of her artistry.

The movie begins with Swift in full popstar mode, belting “Cruel Summer” — which just went to No. 1 on the Hot 100, four years after its initial release. Over its two hour and forty five minute runtime, Swift takes the crowd back to high school with Fearless ’s “You Belong With Me”; dons a Disney princess dress for Speak Now ’ s “Enchanted”; enacts a domestic drama around Evermore ’s “Tolerate It”; strips things back for a rousing acoustic version of Midnights ’ “You’re On Your Own Kid”; and performs the full ten minute version of “All Too Well” in a dazzling floor-length red coat. Across each era, Swift’s core strength as a storyteller comes through.

In between planning and performing one of the best-selling tours of all time, Swift has also been re-recording her discography. The next installment, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), is set to arrive on Oct. 27.

Another major 2023 tour will also get the cinematic treatment this December: Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour will premiere as Renaissance: A Film by Beyon c é . If it's at all like Eras Tour , Montreal fans are probably already picking out their outfits.

Jade Eagleson

The Country Music Association of Ontario has announced the nominations for its 12th annual CMAOntario Awards, with Jade Eagleson racking up five nominations. The awards will be presented on June 2 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.

Jade Eagleson is poised to win big at the CMAOntario Awards , presented by the Country Music Association of Ontario.

The "Rodeo Queen" singer picked up five awards nominations today, including Single of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year — the most nominations of any artist. Eagleson is followed by sibling duo The Reklaws, rising artists Josh Ross and Karli June, and mainstay Meghan Patrick, who all have four nominations each.

Eagleson, the 29 year-old from Bailieboro, Ontario, won Entertainer of the Year and Male Artist of the Year at last fall's CCMA Awards and might prove hard to beat. Ross, who's up against Eagleson for Male Artist, Single of the Year, and Fan Choice, won Breakthrough Artist at the CCMAs last fall, while The Reklaws took home the award for Top Selling Canadian Album.

Country is a hot genre right now in Canada and North America. Live Nation Canada recently launched a major new country festival, Coast City Country , set to have its first edition in Vancouver this April. Country stars are also climbing the Canadian Hot 100. Ross, nominated for his song "Trouble," has spent nine weeks on the Hot 100 this year with his single "Ain't Doin' Jack." Owen Riegling, whose "Old Dirt Roads" is currently No. 69 on the chart, picked up three CMAOntario nominations for the song.

In Canada, the Maple Blues Awards are facing criticism after Black musicians came away empty-handed from last month's awards. Notably, all of the most-nominated artists at the CMAOntario awards are white, an indicator of the ongoing barriers and prejudice artists of colour face in the music industry, and in country music in particular. Beyoncé recently became the first Black woman to have a No. 1 on Billboard 's Hot Country Songs chart with single "Texas Hold 'Em," prompting conversations about racism in country music as some have refused to take the superstar's country recordings seriously.

CMAOntario members will vote for the winners ahead of the awards ceremony on June 2, at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Jason McCoy of Pure Country Radio and singer Teigen Gayse, and takes place during the CMAOntario Festival & Awards Weekend, which features conversations with songwriters, a street fair, a tailgate party and more.

Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour

Swift explained in an Instagram post announcing The Eras Tour in November 2022 that the tour will be a “journey through the musical eras” of her past 10 albums: 2006’s Taylor Swift ; 2008’s Fearless ; 2010’s Speak Now ; 2012’s Red ; 2014’s 1989 ; 2017’s Reputation ; 2019’s Lover ; 2020’s Folklore and Evermore ; and 2022’s Midnights . “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me: @paramore, @radvxz, @phoebebridgers, @girlinred, @whereismuna, @haimtheband, @gracieabrams, @gayle and @owennmusic. I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming 🥰

In a TikTok comment in November 2022, Swift confirmed that “Delicate,” her third single from Reputation , will be on the set list for The Eras Tour. The confirmation came after a TikTok user named Alex posted a video of her singing along to 2018 clip of Swift performing “Delicate” on her Reputation Tour. “Petition to bring this back for eras tour,” the user wrote on the video. Swift responded in the comments with “Done.”

At 3 a.m. ET on October 21, 2022, three hours after the release of Midnights , Swift announced that she released seven more songs as part of a deluxe version of the album  titled Midnights (3am Edition). “ Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13,” she tweeted at the time. She accompanied the tweet with a post that explained that the time 3 a.m. means to her. “What keeps you up at night? It’s a momentary glimmer of distraction,” she wrote. “The tiniest notion of reminiscent thought that wanders off into wondering, the spark that lights a tinderbox of fixation. And now it is irreversible. The flame has caught. You’re wide awake.”

Sabrina Carpenter Says Being on the Eras Tour 'Feels Like a Broadway Show': 'I Feel So Lucky That I Get to Watch Taylor'

"It makes me want to tour the world again, which is a good feeling," the pop star said of joining Swift out on the road

Like Swifties across the globe, Sabrina Carpenter is in complete awe of the Eras Tour .

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan , the pop star, 24, opened up about opening for Taylor Swift 's career-spanning concert at stadiums around the world. The "Nonsense" singer compared the Eras Tour's top-notch performances and spectacle to feeling "like a Broadway show," and shared how "lucky" she feels to get to watch the pop superstar, 34, up on stage.

"It almost feels like a Broadway show because everything is so synchronized but at the same time feels so in the moment," Carpenter told the magazine of Swift's acclaimed live show.

"That’s an art," the "Feather" singer added. "It’s really hard to teach. It’s really hard to learn."

The pop artist explained that watching the Grammy winner — whom she supported in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia and Singapore — every night left her feeling motivated. "I feel so lucky that I get to watch Taylor perform every time," she shared. "It makes me want to tour the world again, which is a good feeling."

The Emails I Can't Send artist explained, "After a show, I think a lot about what I want to do differently the next time and what I want to do with my own show in two years."

Carpenter also noted that she enjoyed visiting places that she hadn't previously been to on the tour. While the singer/actress admitted that traveling so much in the past few months has taught her that she has to work on "getting everything to quiet down," she said that the opportunity has also left her inspired.

"I’m grateful for my inability to turn my brain off at times because that’s when I come up with ideas," the singer-songwriter said. "I feel creative. I feel excited."

Carpenter told Cosmopolitan that the Eras Tour was a learning experience not just because she got "to watch one of the greatest performers ever night," but because she felt as though she could use the opportunity to grow as a performer herself.

Brendan Wixted for Cosmopolitan

"My favorite thing to do has always been to watch people who look so comfortable in their bodies onstage, like Madonna and Britney [Spears] and Prince ," Carpenter shared. "Sometimes when you don’t have a mirror in front of you and you can’t actually see how you look, a lot of the learning comes from watching a video back and thinking, 'Oh, I thought I was giving more than I was actually giving .' "

For the former Disney Channel star, that mean learning "to be larger than life in some capacity," given how small her 5-foot frame felt on the stage.

After first joining Swift in late 2023 for several shows in Mexico City, and then playing her first two legs of 2024 international dates, Carpenter recently wrapped her stint as the opening act on the Eras Tour.

Shortly after the "Because I Liked a Boy" singer and the hitmaker finished their final dates together in Singapore, Carpenter posted to Instagram to share a thoughtful farewell post to the tour .

"That’s a wrap for us on the eras tour :’)" she began the caption of a post featuring photos of her and Swift on the road together.

"Sitting at home reflecting on what a whirlwind this was and how very honored I feel to have been part of it," she continued. "I want to thank every crowd for being so welcoming and generous to us and making some of the most impressive friendship bracelets I’ve ever received."

After shouting out the "hardworking" crew, Carpenter wrote, "And the most thank you’s I’ve ever thank you’d to Taylor."

"I feel so lucky to witness the magic that is you and this tour," the musician added. "There is truly no one like you and there never will be! I love you with all my heart and I will cherish this taybrina era (and all the eras) till the end of time 💞💞💞."

Tour Itinerary

With the 1000-year history, Russia has had a rich portfolio of conflicts, battles, wars. On this Soviet tour, we'll talk about various wars that happened in Russia, focusing on WWII.

Mother Russia has undergone a lot in its long life. Since ancient times, Russian rulers have taken nearly all political power into their own hands. By the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian oppositional movement was deadly set for the total destruction of the ever-lasting tsarist regime. All of Russia got involved in the bloody revolution of 1917 in an effort to abolish the current state of the government and gain freedom for the ordinary people.

You will learn about the every-day life of the Soviet people during the bloody Second World War with the Nazis, including the legendary Battle for Moscow, the 900-day siege of Leningrad, the hardships that local citizens went through, the consequences of the war and the scars it left on the Soviet people, as well as why the Cold War happened and what was the fundamental reason.

Our mission on the Soviet Russia tour is to find out

  • - How much this 1917 revolution cost the people;
  • - Whether they actually got the freedom they wanted and was it worth it;
  • - What happened over the next 74 years;
  • - Who were the main political communist leaders of the Soviet Union;
  • - Were Russians happy and satisfied with the Soviet Union?

Our tour itinerary will lie in most Soviet areas of Moscow, which are quite spread throughout the city, as very few of them are left. You can choose how much you are ready to live this Soviet life on a 5, 7 or 10-hour tour. Depending on the duration of the tour, you will see part or all of the places below:

If you want to extend the tour, you are welcome to do so by paying $20/extra hour in cash on the tour.

Time stands still in Red Square. The Red Square is the heart of Moscow (and whole Russia). Saint Basil's Cathedral will make your mouth drop. If it is from May-October, have a cocktail on the outside terrace and simply people watch! The massive square offers so much to enjoy.

Lenin's Mausoleum

The burial place of one of the most influential communist leaders in the world.

Revolution Square Metro Station

Rub the Soviet dog's nose for good luck and admire the 76 bronze sculptures, devoted to the passionate, strong-willed and patriotic Soviet people.

Poklonnaya Hill

The highest point in Moscow, where Napoleon waited for keys of the city.

All-Russian Exhibition Center (VVC)

With its giant arch, amazing fountain, and huge pavilions of different Soviet Republics.

Victory Park Metro Station

The deepest undeground station in Moscow and one of the deepest in the world.

Victory Park

For an open-air museum as big as 135 ha (1 350 000 square meters), Victory park sure doens't lack diversity. The park is dedicated to the Russian victory in WWII, and was laid out in 1995 in commemoration of 50-year anniversary of victory.

Stalin had planned for its construction already in 1941, being sure of victory from the very start of the war.

Greeting Hill

The highest points in Moscow (172 meters), where Napoleon waited for keys of Moscow in vain.

Triumphal Arch

Stunning monument consisting of 12 cast-iron columns, each 12 meters high, and weighing 16 tons. Built to mark Russia's victory over Napoleon in 1812.

Museum of the Great Patriotic War

In the city that is as much about wars as it is about victories, there is one essential stopover - the Museum of the Great Patriotic War (that's what WWII is called in Russia). Must-do for those wishing to understand Russia's past and look at the whole war from the different perspective - Russian.

The museum is not for the faint-hearted. Here you can see films about the partisan experience, the scenes that will haunt you forever (no subtitles, but they are not necessary).

Museum of Contemporary History (from outside only)

We'll have a glance at Russian life of the XX century in the  Museum of Contemporary History , which houses bits of everything from Russian history of XXth century: from English club to a storage of Stalin's presents.

Memorial to the Holocaust,

devastating and breath-taking!

Unleash your inner spy. Highly recommended  Bunker-42 ,  Cold War Museum , explore the place where Khrushchev lived during the Cuban Crisis. Go down 18 floors to a gigantic bunker under Moscow that was designed to withstand a nuclear attack. Watch a short film about the severity of the Cold War. If you lived through the Cold War, you will hardly believe it is possible that you are in Bunker 42!

Wander through  Sparrow Hills  and climb up to the highest observation deck of Moscow with stunning views of all seven Stalin’s skyscrapers, including  Moscow State University . After that, experience the excitement of taking a  river cruise  on the Moscow river and catch the views of the Kremlin and Soviet times.

On this private tour, we have selected for you the best sights in the most popular tourist destinations in Russia: Moscow and St Petersburg. In Moscow, you will see the most iconic places in the Russian capital: Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin, Sparrow Hills and Victory Park, as well as some of the most beautiful stations of the Moscow Metro. You will visit the main collection of Russian art in the country: the Tretyakov Gallery, and enjoy great views of the city from a cruise along the River Moscow. In addition to all this, you will also go to the VDNKh exhibition park, which will give you a taste of the Soviet Union with its many Soviet-era pavilions and spectacular monuments.

You will get to St Petersburg via a high-speed train. In the Northern Capital, as St Petersburg is often called, you will visit the main sights in the city and two of the grandest imperial residences located just outside the city.  You will, of course, visit the famous Winter Palace where the tsars once resided and which now holds the State Hermitage Museum, and also see where most of the tsars were buried in the cathedral of the Peter and Paul Fortress. You will have a boat cruise around the city known as the Venice of the North due to its many canals and bridges and guided tours of two of the city’s cathedrals: the Saviour Cathedral on the Spilled Blood, which is wonderfully decorated with mosaics, and St Isaac’s Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in the world.

From St Petersburg, you will have two trips. One to Pushkin (formerly Tsarkoe Selo) to visit the Catherine Palace and its famous Amber Rooms and the other to Peterhof to walk among the gardens of the estate, famous for its many fountains in various forms.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS TOUR

You’ll see all the main sights of Moscow and St Petersburg in one trip. We included guided tours in the most iconic places of the cities such as the Moscow Kremlin, the State Hermitage Museum, and the Peterhof and Catherine Palaces (including the famous Amber Room).  You’ll get a sense of imperial, Soviet and modern Russia.

Viewing Platform on Sparrow Hills - this is located opposite the main building of the Moscow State University - one of the buildings known as the Seven Sisters or Stalin’s Skyscrapers - and from here you can get a great view of central Moscow.

Ulitsa Tverskaya - this is the main street in Moscow and in Soviet times it was completely renovated (and renamed in honour of Gorky) meaning that many of the buildings here are in the empire architectural style preferred by Stalin.

Novodevichy Convent - one of the oldest convents in Russia and it hasn’t changed much in terms of its architectural style over 500 years. It is protected by UNESCO.
