Campus Tour

We are proud of our little campus and look forward to sharing that with you.

Below we have some virtual tours for our families who are not on the island yet, and we are happy to announce that the campus has been opened for on-campus visits.  Please see the bottom of the page for terms and how to request a tour.

Description

Our open-air campus has 11 classrooms, with grades from Preschool to 6th.

Our Courtyard, where our morning flag ceremony takes place, is shaded by lush trees and is lined with a mix of green turf and grass.

We have 3 play structures for different age groups: preschool and pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and 1st-6th. Each structure is nicely shaded beneath giant trees, which is perfect protection from the Hawai'i sun.

Our classrooms are all equipped with air conditioning, smart boards, refrigerators (for packed lunches), and sinks for handwashing. Outside, each classroom boasts a covered lanai, where students eat lunch and snacks, do art projects, and all other potentially messy activities.

Community schools reflect the rich histories of our city’s unique neighborhoods and celebrate our students' diverse cultural backgrounds. Community schools provide high-quality academic programs with smooth academic pathways from elementary to through high school that build students’ skills and fuel their interests each step of the way.

The Minnesota Report Card is a tool to help inform families and communities about their schools so they can make important decisions and meaningfully engage with schools and educators. However, Minnesota Report Card data only provides a partial snapshot of what the experience may be like at any given school. MPS recommends connecting directly with school leaders and communities through school tours, open houses and other events to gain a fuller understanding of how our schools support students and families.

2024 Houston Open odds, picks, field, predictions: Golf insider fading Tony Finau at Memorial Park

Sia nejad reveals his houston open 2024 picks, props and sleepers as the pga tour heads to texas.

tony-finau-usatsi.jpg

Players will get their final chance to crack the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking and qualify for the Masters this week when play begins at the 2024 Houston Open, which gets underway on Thursday at Memorial Park Golf Course. Tom Hoge, who's ranked No. 57 in the world, Mackenzie Hughes (No. 63) and Alex Noren (No. 64) are among the PGA Tour winners who are neither ranked in the top 50 nor qualified for the Masters and need an excellent result this week to earn their invitation to Augusta National in two weeks.

For this week, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the overwhelming favorite in the 2024 Houston Open odds at +260. Wyndham Clark (+1200), Will Zalatoris (+2000), Sahith Theegala (+2000) and defending champion Tony Finau (+2200) round out the top five choices in the Houston Open 2024 field. Before locking in any 2024 Houston Open picks, make sure you  see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad .

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been solid with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 36-22-2 and returning 9.953 units over that span. That's a $995 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.

Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.

Now, Nejad has focused his attention on the 2024 Houston Open field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Houston Open expert picks

One surprise: Nejad is completely fading defending champion Tony Finau. The six-time winner on the PGA Tour has had a slow start to the 2024 season. In seven starts this year, he has one finish better than 13th, and he sits a middling 57th in the FedEx Cup standings.

He also has struggled with both the driver and putter this year. He ranks 140th in driving accuracy (54.89%) and 144th in strokes gained: putting (-0.460). "I'm fully aware of his great history at Memorial Park and his course fit, but his play has been too erratic lately," Nejad told SportsLine.

However, Nejad is high on the chances of Wyndham Clark, who is the second choice in the odds at +1200. Clark has three top-two finishes in his last five starts. He won the rain-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and has finished second in his last two events – the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship – finishing behind Scheffler in both.

Clark has excelled from tee to green this season. He ranks eighth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green (1.214) and 12th in strokes gained: putting (0.656). "He has the complete game to win at this course as his ball-striking prowess is matched by his short game acumen," Nejad said.  See who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make 2024 Houston Open picks

Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2024 Houston Open and is backing several longshots, including one that is priced at more than 50-1. This player "can really spike with the ball-striking" and is a longshot who could surprise. You can see Nejad's PGA Tour picks only at SportsLine .

So which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 Houston Open, and which player in the   Houston Open 2024 field could bring a huge payday at more than 50-1? Check out the odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Sia Nejad's top picks for the 2024 Houston Open , all from the expert who is 36-22-2 on his last 60 head-to-head picks.

Who is playing in the Texas Children's Houston Open 2024? Field and qualification explored

College tour season is about to kick off. Here are 10 tips from college tour guides to have a successful campus visit.

  • As spring starts, colleges nationwide will welcome parents and students to tour their campuses.
  • College tour guides want people to arrive on time, ask the right questions, and have fun.
  • They also recommend students take the tours on their own, without their parents.

Insider Today

Spring break is right around the corner, and for many high-school students and their parents, that means many will be hitting the road to tour colleges around the country.

To make the most of your visit, Business Insider spoke with college students and tour guides. They know the campuses like the backs of their hands, and they know how to walk backward.

Here are the dos and don'ts of college tours from student guides .

1. Get there with no time to spare, but don't be late.

You won't get points for arriving early, so try to arrive on time. But if you do happen to arrive late , there's no need to worry.

"If something comes up and you are late, ask your guide what you missed once the tour finishes," Skyler Kawecki-Muonio, a senior at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, told BI. "They will happily fill you in."

2. Dress to impress, but don't sacrifice comfort.

It's important to look nice, but you don't have to don a jacket and tie. Tour-goers should put their best foot forward with a sturdy pair of walking shoes , and don't forget to dress for the weather.

"At Fairleigh Dickinson, tours go out rain or shine, so make sure to wear clothes that will keep you warm," Emily Bone, a junior at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, said .

3. Don't forget to sign in, but skip the résumé .

Most schools have a check-in desk where you'll receive a campus map and other literature. But don't bother furnishing schools with your portfolio.

"Students can leave their résumés at home," Henry Millar, a senior at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, said. "Tour guides generally do not have any sway in the admissions process whatsoever, so feel free to save the paper."

4. Pay attention on the tour, but do it solo if possible.

Some schools offer to let parents and kids take separate tours, which has advantages.

"Get excited about your child's potential future in college, but give them some space to see what they think of that school on their own," Nathan Weisbrod, a junior at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, told BI.

Related stories

Students can comfortably ask questions without a parent present and compare notes afterward .

5. Ask all your questions, but avoid personal interrogations.

This is the time to inquire about any aspect of campus life , and don't feel shy about speaking up.

"Tour guides love getting questions because it allows us to cater the tour, especially in small groups, toward the needs and interests of the families on that specific tour," Halle Spataro, a senior at Bucknell University, said.

But some topics are off-limits, so don't ask your tour guide about their SAT scores , ACT scores , or what they wrote about in their essay .

6. Speak up, but let the student take the lead.

Parents may be tempted to raise their hands again and again, but this tour is about the student, so there should be space to let them shine.

"Try to take the back seat — or the passenger seat — but refrain from driving all of your child's interactions," Julian Jacklin, a junior at Reed College in Oregon, said. "Students who feel they can own that experience usually ask the most questions and engage with the tour more."

7. Say thanks, but don't leave with questions unanswered.

Maybe your guide didn't hear you, or your kid was reluctant to speak up. You can still get the information you want before leaving.

"There's a lot of information students are getting that day and a lot of excitement with being in a new place, which can make people forget to ask certain questions," Lorenzo Mars, a junior at Pepperdine University in California, said.

Therefore, get your tour guide's email address so that you can follow up .

8. You may know exactly what school is right but keep an open mind.

Don't be surprised if a city-living kid is suddenly intrigued by a small-town setting.

"The college search and college experience are all about getting to know yourself better and growing, so on a tour, students have to trust themselves and their judgment of the 'world' they've just stepped into," Thomas Elias, a senior at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, said .

9. Take in as much as possible, but remember to have fun.

Sure, preparing for the next four years can be scary and stressful. But it's also an exciting milestone, so enjoy the ride.

"These tours serve as great opportunities to learn more about colleges — along with their cities, culture, and people," Connor Gee, a sophomore at the University of Mississippi, said. "Have fun with it!"

10. Weigh the pros and cons of the school, but don't stop there.

Your tour may be over, but you can still learn other ways to immerse yourself in college life .

"See if the school offers additional experiences, like eating in the cafeteria or attending a class," Emily Balda, a senior at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, said. "Consider it 'food for thought.'"

Hale School aims to make its fees as affordable as possible for families whilst providing boys with the best education possible.

In recent years, the School has kept fee increases to a minimum to reflect the challenging economic environment. We offer flexible payment options and our Credit Manager can meet with parents to discuss repayments.

Upon acceptance of a place at Hale School, a non-refundable endowment fee of $8540 must be paid. This fee is held by the Hale School Foundation to assist with the ongoing provision of capital infrastructure, which benefits all students.

There is a discount of five per cent in the fees for the second and subsequent brothers in the School at the same time.

For boarding students, the boarding fee is in addition to the tuition fee.

For more information on fees, see our Local Fee Schedule .

For international students, see our Overseas Fee Schedule .

Ariana DeBose ‘Couldn’t Pass Up the Chance’ to Host Tony Awards for a Third Time

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Ariana DeBose made a striking hosting debut at the Tony Awards in 2022. When she returned in 2023, it was an unscripted, off-the-cuff evening in the midst of the writers strike. Now, the actress and singer is planning for her third consecutive year of hosting the show celebrating Broadway.

“I couldn’t pass up the chance to host the Tonys one more time at Lincoln Center,” DeBose shared in a statement. “I’m excited to collaborate with the team to create an incredible celebration of this season’s achievements on Broadway for our community and for everyone at home.”

In addition to hosting, DeBose will choreograph the show’s opening number and serve as a producer on the show. Last year’s opening number was choreographed by Karla Garcia and featured DeBose delivering a dance tribute to Broadway.

Nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards will be announced on Tuesday, April 30, reflecting on the 2023 to 2024 season on Broadway.
