2005 Northwood Mfg. Nash 17C Travel TrailerIf you are unfamiliar with Northwood Mfg. I recommend visiting their website at www.northwoodmfg.com to see the quality of design and workmanship of the Nash travel trailer, which, by the way, is why you do not see many used Nash’s for sale. I am buying a Northwood mfg. fifth wheel to live in full-time, which is the only reason I am selling this travel trailer. Here’s a YouTube video on a 2006 Nash 17C. It’s pretty much the same as the ‘05. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NiapTxF778  This is a four (4) seasons trailer. That is significant if you plan on using it in cold conditions. It is in great condition and can be used immediately. Here’s a list of what’s been done in the past 12 months:

• Lightbulbs replaced with LED’s.
• 2 new hose bibs.
• New Fan-Tastic vent/fan in bathroom.
• New fan blade on A/C.
• New A/C housing (plastic gets brittle over time, so I replaced it in 2019)

Nash 17C Travel Trailer and WDH Question

Hi folks, Someplace in the forums here I read that one of our members owns a Nash 17C trailer and tows it with his/her RL. If you are out there could you share how the RL handles the job? I have read all the posts on weight distribution hitches. The Nash 17C's tongue weight dry is 420 plus the weight of two batteries and two propane tanks. I'm thinking I'm going to require a weight distribution hitch. Anyone out there with any current RL weight distribution hitch stories pro or con that they can share? Thank you very much.

MikeT This cyberspace stuff is a little tricky. I didn't perceive any snippyness (is that a word?) in your reply at all. I was trying to convey a genuine thank you for your information but it didn't seem to come out that way. No disrespect intended on my comment about the search feature. When I read your comment I thought "Cool, there is a way to search one word at a time to find stuff." All I had to do was look around on the page right in front of me and there it was! This web page has been a wealth of information and I appreciate the opportunity to learn more. Thanks for patiently helping me to navigate the forums.

Towing Nash 17C

I have a 2013 double cab 4x4 auto trans 4.0 engine long bed, with a towing package. I have a Nash 17c travel trailer, the empty weight is 3700 lbs and it's got a dry hitch weight of 500 lbs. I live at 4400 ft elevation and we own an acre by the gila national forest about 60 miles away and it's probably close to 7000 ft elevation. Just wondering if anyone has towed one of these or something similar and how it does? I would have to use an equalizer hitch of course. I still have my 99 Ford superduty diesel that I use but have this truck and it would be nice if it could tow the Nash ok. When I bought it I just didn't want a Tundra and get crappy gas mileage because the primary use of the truck is daily use. Thanks for the imput

I'm at 5600ft and tow an (empty) 3500# travel trailer (max 5200). Regularly go to 7000ft and upwards of 9500-10000ft. While 65mph at 9500ft isn't fun, it gets the job done.

Nice, I know there are lots of opinions out there but it's nice to hear from someone that is doing it. I have an old equalizer hitch that's pretty heavy but maybe they all are. I've got three trucks but at some point may have to whittle them down, so am hoping the Tacoma will tow the camper ok
