Tickets set to go on sale for Dara Ó Briain’s new tour
Comedian Dara Ó Briain is back on tour with a new show and will be appearing in Carlisle and Kendal next year.
Tickets for So, Where Were We? go on sale tomorrow at 10am. He will be appearing at Kendal’s Westmorland Hall on May 11 and the Sands Centre in Carlisle on May 13.
The stand-up comic is best known for hosting Mock The Week, Robot Wars, Three Men in a Boat, Dara and Ed’s Great Big Adventure, Stargazing Live, Dara Ó Briain’s Science Club, and the documentary Dara Ó Briain Meets Stephen Hawking.
He also currently hosts Comedy Central’s hit gameshow Blockbusters. His last show, Voice of Reason, was performed across the globe.
He had performed it 180 times over two years and decided to take a break in March 2020.
In his new show So, Where Were We? Dara will hardly mention the last year-and-a-half, but instead promises to fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners, audience messing and tripping over his words by talking too quickly because he’s so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.

Dara Ó Briain
So... where were we.
Dara Ó Briain is back on tour, with a brand new show!
At the end of his last tour, Dara had performed the show "Voice Of Reason" 180 times, over 2 years across 20 countries, from Auckland to Reykjavik, from Moscow to New York; and by March 2020 he was ready for a break!
He would now like to apologise for saying that and will never wish for anything like that again.
Yes, he's back on tour, and he will never stop again, because that's clearly what caused all this trouble. Instead, in his new show 'So, Where Were We?" Dara will hardly mention the last year and a half, because, Jesus, who wants to hear about that? Instead, Dara will fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners, audience messing and tripping over his words by talking too quickly because he's so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.

May 2, 2023 - Following his incredibly successful 2022 Canadian tour, Just For Laughs is thrilled to announce that Dara Ó Briain is returning to Canada with a brand-new, live stand-up show: ‘So… Where Were We?’ .
At the end of his highly successful last tour ‘Voice Of Reason’, Dara had performed the show 180 times over 2 years and across 20 countries, from Auckland to Reykjavik, from Moscow to New York; and by March 2020 he was ready for a break! He would now like to apologise for saying that and will never wish for anything like that again.
Ó Briain’s last tour of Canada was originally scheduled for March 2020, then 2021 and it finally happened in 2022, where he received standing ovations every night and left audiences clamouring for more! So, we listened, and are excited to bring you this master storyteller with an all-new show!
Yes, he's back on tour, and he will never stop again, because that's clearly what caused all this trouble, oh, and he ate a bat. Instead, in his new show 'So…Where Were We?’, Dara will hardly mention the last year and a half, because “Jesus, who wants to hear about that?” but will instead fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners, audience messing, while tripping over his words because he is talking too quickly as he's so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.

Dara Ó Briain
Dara Ó Briain is one of the UK & Ireland’s favourite stand-up comedians and television presenters. He is best known for hosting Mock The Week, Robot Wars, Three Men in a Boat, Dara and Ed’s Great Big Adventure, Stargazing Live, Dara Ó Briain’s Science Club, and the documentary Dara Ó Briain Meets Stephen Hawking, all on BBC Television. He also currently hosts Comedy Central’s hit gameshow Blockbusters. His latest show So… Where Were We? was winner of Best Tour at the 2023 Chortle Awards and has been performed across the globe, touring in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, the Middle East and North America.
Dara started his career in television as a children’s presenter on RTÉ whilst performing his first stand-up gigs on the Irish comedy circuit, after studying at University College, Dublin, where he read Mathematical Physics.
Dara came to prominence in Ireland as host of topical panel show Don’t Feed the Gondolas. He had to leave the show midway through its fifth season in order to perform at the Adelaide and Melbourne comedy festivals.
Dara later co-founded the television production company Happy Endings Productions, whose most famous show in Ireland is The Panel. The show became one of the most talked about shows in Ireland and was twice nominated for the Best Entertainment show IFTA (Irish Film & Television Award). His big break in UK television came in 2003 when he became host of BBC Two’s The Live Floor Show. This led to an appearance as guest – and, ultimately, four appearances as guest host of – the popular news quiz, Have I Got News for You. By this time, he had moved to the UK and was working on the British circuit full-time.
Dara has hosted eighteen successful series of the comedy panel game Mock the Week for BBC television, and recently hosted BBC Two’s reboot of Robot Wars. He also hosted BBC Two’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired for three years.
Other notable television work sees Dara as an integral member of the Three Men in a Boat, alongside Griff Rhys Jones and Rory McGrath. In 2007 Dara fronted the BBC comedy interview programme Turn Back Time and, since 2011, co-hosted BBC One’s astronomical show Stargazing Live alongside Professor Brian Cox.
Dara is also one of the most sought-after award show hosts in Britain, and regularly hosts the BAFTA Games Awards.
Dara tours regularly, and has performed shows all over world, from Moscow to Sydney, Tromsø to Malta, and has recorded five live DVD’s for Universal Pictures. He also holds the record for the most appearances in a year for Dublin’s legendary Vicar Street.
Dara released the bestselling book Tickling The English in 2009, and more recently his non-fiction children’s book about space, Beyond The Sky, was nominated for Best Book with Facts at the 2018 Blue Peter Brook Awards. In 2018 Dara wrote the follow up book, Secret Science – The Amazing World Beyond your Eyes, which was received with great critical acclaim.
