Airbourne formed in the band’s hometown of Warrnambool, Victoria, 10-years ago. Their first album Runnin’ Wild was one of the most talked-about and best-reviewed debuts in recent rock history, winning the band a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Debut Album.

AIRBOURNE Announces Summer/Fall 2022 North American Tour

Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE will embark on a North American tour this summer and fall. The 21-date trek will kick off on September 9 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City and will end on October 11 at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

Says AIRBOURNE in a statement: "We are from Melbourne, the most locked down city in the world, Unleashed at last, AIRBOURNE are the most set-free animals on the planet. Look out!

Back in the spring of 2020, AIRBOURNE was scheduled to embark on the first North American tour in support of its fifth album, "Boneshaker" , out now via Spinefarm Records .

"Boneshaker" was released in October 2019. The cover artwork for the disc is a collaboration between Matt Read of Combustion Ltd. , and Sean Tidy of Design House Studio Ltd.

With the creation of "Boneshaker" , AIRBOURNE decided to take the bolder path; to align with Nashville producer Dave Cobb , whose credits include both Chris Stapleton and "A Star Is Born" soundtrack.

AIRBOURNE guitarist Matt "Harri" Harrison told HMV.com about the decision to work with Cobb : "It took one phone call and he was always top of our list. His name isn't hard to come by in our world; he's so amazingly successful. I think he's probably the biggest producer in the world, and he was always someone we talked about. He's done so many big country records. There's not a huge amount, sonically, that's relevant to us in those records, but you can always tell it's him producing; he's always doing something a little bit different. The guitars sound great, the drums sound great — it always sounds like human beings in a room being great at their instruments."

"When we first talked, we told him about BLACK ROBOT ," Matt continued. "That was a band he was in with some of his mates and they do this awesome cover of Eric Clapton 's 'Cocaine' . That was a big record for us. When we spoke to him, it was really clear that he wanted the same type of record we did. We wanted to do something super raw and basically bottling what we do on stage."

Airbourne Announce 2020 North American ‘Boneshaker’ Tour

Feel that? You will soon, as Aussie rockers Airbourne are making their way stateside in 2020 for a North American leg of their "Boneshaker World Tour."

The band just announced dates kicking off April 30 in New York City and keeping them on the road in the U.S. and Canada through a May 23 finale in Montreal. All dates, cities and venues can be found below.

The shows come as the band is promoting their fifth studio album, with the aptly titled room-rocking moniker, Boneshaker . The album got off to a raucous start with the song "Backseat Boogie." Have a look at the video below.

Airbourne announces fall 2022 tour dates

Aussie rock band Airbourne has announced a fall 2022 North American tour, kicking off Sept. 9 in New York City and running through Oct. 11 in Los Angeles. All dates are below.

Airbourne have released details of the North American leg of their world tour behind their new album Boneshaker .

The spring tour, which is the Aussie rockers’ first stateside trek, will begin on 20 April in New York and wrap up on 23 May in Montreal. It also includes appearances at several major rock festivals, such as Sonic Temple, Epicenter and Welcome To Rockville. The band are currently touring Oceania with several stops across major cities in Australia and New Zealand, and will continue to Europe in autumn 2020.

Boneshaker is the Australian band’s fifth studio album and was produced by Dave Cobb. The LP is also the first to feature Matt ‘Harri’ Harrison on rhythm guitar, after the departure of original rhythm guitarist David Roads in 2017.

Airbourne were formed in late 2003 by brothers Joel and Ryan O’Keeffe. Their debut eight-track EP Ready To Rock was released in July 2004, followed by their first full-length album Runnin’ Wild in June 2007. Since then, the band have toured in support of Mötley Crüe, Motörhead, Iron Maiden and The Rolling Stones.

CONCERT REVIEW: AIRBORNE Runs Wild at Gramercy Theater, New York (September 9th, 2022)

On Friday night, the Australian group Airbourne drew a packed house on opening night of their U.S. & Canada Tour at The Gramercy Theatre in NYC. Their tour started September 9th and runs through October 11th in Los Angeles. It’s the band’s first U.S. and Canadian tour since 2016. Their original tour to support their 2019 release, “Boneshaker,” was unfortunately scrapped due to COVID.

The boys hit the stage dressed in black from head to toe and sweaty like they did a pre-show lap around the block. The 90-minute concert contained no props, pyro, or EDM mixes; just straight up in your face rock & roll while the band played some new songs off  “Boneshaker” and some of their familiar classics. Airbourne has remained musically steadfast and consistently powerful since they came on the scene in 2007 with their debut release “Runnin’ Wild.” Since then, they have released four additional albums every two or three years. They are the perfect escape to immerse yourself in the power of a live show and forget all the nonsense going on in the world.

They opened the show with “Ready to Rock,” as fans were more than ready. Those who knew what to expect came shirtless, planning to get soaked with beer, and do some moshing! As soon as the first chord was struck, the audience pitch turned frenzied as the crowd sang along exultantly; fists raised in the air. If there were doubts that it might take the band a few shows to find their groove, rest assured it was not the case as Joel O’Keeffe [lead vocals/guitar], Ryan O’Keeffe [drums], Justin Street [bass], and the newest member Jarrad Morrice [guitar], know how to deliver a powerful show consistently.

Joel , Mr. Nitro himself, was poised at the ready with his smutty smirk as he delivered Airbourne ‘s double-entendres lyrical content based on lust, Hell, and all things sexual. A blizzard of Gibson Explorer guitars led by Joel and Jarrad fueled the thunderous riffs pouring out of their bloodied, beaten, and scared Marshall amps and stacks. The show consisted of a 12-songs, and the band didn’t ignore fan favorites that helped put them on the map, like “Girls in Black,” “Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast,” “Live it Up,” and “Diamond in the Rough.” They performed two songs from “Boneshaker” , “Burn out the Nitro” and the title track.

Joel was the focal point with his compelling gruff vocals and guitar showmanship. A rebellious spirit burns within him, coupled with self-assurance in his singing and playing, which makes him one of the greatest front men. He is also not afraid to jump into the crowd and mix it up. This was evident by the second song when he was hoisted on his roadie’s shoulders and carried into the crowd cracking beer cans on his head. Later, he randomly jumped off the stage to drink with them again. Fans loved it as they went wild! Speaking of “mixing it up,” mid-set, Joel and the band took a moment from their sonic assault to toast Lemmy Kilmister by bringing out a portable Lemmy ’s bar cart and pouring drinks of Jack Daniel ‘s and Coke for themselves and their fans. To keep the party going in high gear, Joel tossed half cups of beer like grenades high into the venue for fans to try and catch; regardless of being caught or missed, the splatter effect was monstrous.

Before the show, I asked Joel : “You always come across as very calm and cool, but on stage, you are a madman. Tell me about that transformation and what happens when you hit the stage.” He replied, “It’s really about the power of the guitar; when you run out in front of the crowd, you can’t stand there and stare at your shoes. You have a wall of Marshalls behind you, so it’s like a shot of adrenaline. It doesn’t wear off until you leave the stage. You can be running on fumes, and the crowd can actually pick you up. They keep you upright until you leave the stage when you hit the floor. As soon as I get off stage, I’m done! You can order me a coffin and throw me in. People would think I died, and you can have an open-casket funeral backstage [laughing]. You give them everything, and that’s the only way to do it. You don’t think about the next gig; you just think about the one you’re doing and give it all you got.”

Keeping up with Joel ‘s and Matt ‘s playing was Justin ‘s bass playing with his lightning-fast fingers and head thrashing. His bass and neck stimulatingly took a beating through the night. If you are wondering if his neck hurts after a show, pre-show, he told me, “Not really!” Perfectly stated! His bass playing supplies the power and groove to Airbourne ‘s songs while marrying nicely to Ryan ‘s solid backbeat and serving-the-song drumming. He is a no-nonsense drummer that plays with style and grace as all Hell is exploding around him.

Fans have been starved for a good hard rock band, and Airborne fits the bill. When the show was over, the band and fans were equally sweaty, beer-soaked, and exhausted; it was a testament to the band’s stamina and the sheer power of rock & roll that all fans came out smiling! Fresh from a riotous main-stage appearance at Ramblin’ Man Fair in the UK , Airbourne have confirmed their return to these shores with a seismic bang – 14 headline dates nationwide in November of this year. Special guests on all dates will be Nashville rockers Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, whose latest studio album, Truth & Lies , was released via Snakefarm Records in June of this year.

Kicking off in Norwich on 13 November and concluding in Oxford on 30 November, this extensive run will see the all-action Aussie rockers pushing energy levels to head-spinning new heights. For tickets and further information on all the dates, visit Airbourne’s official website .

Airbourne vocalist / guitarist Joel O’Keeffe says of the forthcoming dates: “G’day, Scotland, Wales and England! We’ve missed you so much that we’re coming back with a tour to rock your skulls clean off! As always, I’ll be chuckin’ out free beer. So do yourself a favour, take the next day off and let us do the rest! It’s gonna be an absolute Boneshaker!!!”

Hailing from Warrnamboul in Victoria, Airbourne are part of a proud Aussie hard rock lineage which also includes AC/DC and Rose Tattoo. Their most recent album, 2016’s Breakin’ Outta Hell (released through Spinefarm) was a UK Top 10 success and the band recently announced they were working on their (as yet unnamed) fifth album in Nashville.
