Sri Lankan tour

Everything on the tour of Sri Lanka was really good with our tour guide Shanaka organising everything really well and being very informative. As I was having difficulty walking he made allowances which meant that I could enjoy the trip. The hotels were lovely but were lacking in the main of facilities for people with mobility issues such as hand rails and wheel chair ramps Particularly noticeable in the showers was the lack of grab handles The coach ride was easy with the longest continuous time being about 3hours. All in all a great experience with an excellent itinerary.

Great Rail Journey of India Feb 24.

Recently returned from Great Rail Journey of North India (Feb 6 - 21). Well organised and our guide, Rahi, was extremely on-the-ball and a great problem-solver. Only down-side was that Indian hotels are not well sound-proofed and it must have been wedding season. Highly commended. Simon Matthews.

Communiction - non existant

We are booked to go to USA for a trip down the Mississippi on a paddleboat next month. We learned by chance, last week, that the boat company have ceased operating. Titan have yet to contact us to tell us this rather important information. We have phoned them but promised return calls were not made. If this is how they cope in a crisis, it doesn't bode well

Pack poo sample kit!

In case of food poinoning, remember to pack your poo sample kit and, if needed, post to Irena Jasinski at Titan! " We must stress that we do not deny that you or those passengers who held up their hands to Hennie’s question of who had been poorly while on the Rovos Rail, were ill. What we are unable to ascertain is the cause of the illness. We have been presented with no evidence whatsoever proving beyond any probability that the cause of any passengers’ illness was as a result of food consumed on the Rovos Rail. No food was set aside for us to send for sampling, nor have we been presented with the results of any stool samples or other medical evidence. It is for this reason that we cannot accept liability" (they paid up, eventually!)

An Amazing Holiday!

Just returned from Australia after a fantastic tour. The drivers that transferred us to and from Heathrow were punctual, polite and professional. All the travel arrangements went according to plan and the coaches, drivers/guides were comfortable, efficient and knowledgeable. The hotels were very good and the itinerary was amazing! Our tour manager, Colin, was brilliant! So organised with a tip sheet for every location, lots of stories and information about all the places we visited. He looked after one member of the group who was poorly, arranging hospital treatment and dealing with her insurance, came on the excursions that he could and seeing everyone off when the groups were split into different activities then greeting us all on our return. He took away the stress usually involved with organising a prolonged holiday with many flights across different time zones. His advice in each city was very welcome and we were all sorry to say goodbye at the end of the trip. Thank you so much, Colin Spong for giving us the most amazing trip.

Once again try to go in to Titan to…

Once again try to go in to Titan to book a tour which is available for 2 people when I put in 1 person you have to call a number THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. What are we second class citizens not good enough this smacks of discrimination on your web site ALSO. Your web site awful I want to see what time flights go as do NOT want an early morning flight as to stay over night in a hotel is awful I want to look at flights that leave in afternoon to do so you have to go in and book it?!

Wild India Fantastic guide in Yaju. Extremely knowledgeable and very good humoured. The staff at the various lodges were courteous and helpful. The jeep safaris were very enjoyable and we saw lots of tigers and other wild life. The trip was great but not quite as the brochure promised - a bit more realism would be appropriate. A slight hiccup as my driver wasn't booked from the airport but it was quickly sorted out by Stuart on the emergency number. A very memorable experience.

Just returned from great rail journey…

Just returned from great rail journey 16 days of dreams coming true. Very well organised, first class hotels and great friends made. This was all made possible by our guild Rahi Raza what an incredible man. He has a tremendous range of historical knowledge making every day interesting Very organised and capable of overcoming whatever problems put to him. I lost my phone from toy train window Rahi was able to summon friends/colleagues and it was found and returned. Incredible. We were well looked after. Thanks Titan.

Terrible, unhelpful customer services

Our return flight from Costa Rica on 20 Feb was delayed for over 22 hours. We are entitled to compensation from British Airways. To register the claim for compensation we need the flight booking refence which only Titan appear to have access to. I have now phoned on several occasions and spoken to Titan customer services to get the number. They informed me that they do not have access to the details and they have emailed another department and are waiting on the reply. I received a text message stating that they will endeavour to get back to me within 28 days. After sales care is non existent after taking nearly £8800 of our money.

The Great Indian Rail Journey

We have just returned from the Great Indian Rail Journey trip. It was amazing! We visited so places and had many varied experiences throughout. We would recommend the holiday as the best way to see this part of India. The trip was made even more enjoyable because of our guide, Rahi Raza. He was very knowledgeable on all the locations and sites we visited. He always had the time and patience to explain any further questions from the group. If my holiday with Titan is the same…

If my holiday with Titan is the same standard as my booking with them was,( extremely good) then I would be very impressed. The booking lady was superb in that she sought to answer all my questions with patience and especially helped with the various upgrades I wanted. 10 out of 10.

This vacation was amazing. All the excursions and visits were so well chosen, the hotels were as advertised and the tour manager, Rahi Khan, added immeasurably to the whole experience. He was reliable, knowledgeable, friendly and completely capable. He taught us so much about India. There were a couple of unplanned moments ( the town lift in Shimla stuck with us in it) but we had total trust in Rahi’s ability to sort it out - which he did. With Rahi, we worked so well as a group. The local guides who assisted us were also very good, particularly those on the safaris in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, which resulted in two tiger sightings.

jewels of Spain

Our tour rep Karen was so helpful and went the extra mile to make our holiday such an enjoyable experience. 3 different locations in Spain. Food was variable but always plentiful, rooms were generally good but the Aguilas hotel rooms were the worst, but the location made up for any shortcomings. We were there for Mardi Gras week which was amazing. The third hotel in Salobreña was the best location and so were the rooms. All the trippers were good company and got along very well.

Great trip, brilliant guide

I’ve just returned from the Great Indian Rail Journey trip. It was superb. So many places to see, so many varied experiences. Highly recommend. But the trip was great because of our guide, Rahi Raza. He was knowledgeable, a good communicator, but also genial, and a great companion. He handled the varied concerns of fellow travellers with tact and flexibility, bringing us together as a well bonded group. I’ve done several overseas tours but cannot remember a better guide than Rahi.

Jewels of Spain February 2024

This 15 day tour was made by the tour guide Karen Maquire. She ensured that every aspect of the tour ran smoothly and even added extra walks to add interest. She has a detailed knowledge of Spain as she has lived there many years. The tour itself revealed the real Spain as opposed to the usual tourist spots and is thoroughly recommended.

Poor administration - did not honour our purchased and paid for upgrade

Writing on behalf of my elderly parents who wanted to go on a holiday of a lifetime and sadly are disappointed and anxious before they even go. They had booked a Grand Antipodean Odyssey encompassing Australia and New Zealand departing on the 3rd March 2024. The booking was made over a year ago, along with a request for a seat upgrade. This was agreed in writing in May 2023 when the flights were released by the carrier. This upgrade was subsequently paid for within the total balance of around £13,000. They received the paperwork for the flights two weeks ago, and upon checking the seating arrangement it was discover that they had not been upgraded, although Titan had previously taken payment for such. They has contacted customer services in County Durham via recorded post (they are not IT savvy) and have had no response. So with help, after various conversations with Titan back and forth it was confirmed that the upgrade was omitted with no plausible excuse. This has caused my parents no end of anxiety, upset and the knock on ramifications incurred such as luggage allocation less than two weeks notice and they haven’t even left for their probable last long haul flight. They have lost all faith in Titan who used to be first class in all areas. It would appear to them since their first holiday with Titan several years ago that various aspects have spiralled downwards rapidly, mostly with administration. Their upcoming holiday will almost certainly be their last with Titan as they feel badly let down at the last minutes. #TitantravelUK

Titan’s Indian golden triangle by train

Our holiday went well from the time that we were picked up until we were dropped off at home at the end of the fortnight. Our designated guide looked after the group throughout and was able to share his abundant knowledge. We were able to experience such marvels that we’d seen in brochures that truly could not be experienced from a photograph and we were given an insight behind the history that we had not been previously aware of.

Dreadful experience

We recently returned from an escorted trip to Guernsey. Whilst the hotel the Titan Rep and the included trips were excellent the door to airport service was abysmal. Our taxi was due at 8.10;on a Saturday morning and the literature provided states if it’s more than 15 minutes late to ring the enclosed emergency number . We did this as the taxi had not arrived and it rang and rang and rang . Eventually it was answered by someone we had obviously woken up who showed little interest and asked us if we knew of a local taxi !!!! The only one we did know was suggested and the titan staff member said he would contact them . We heard nothing for over an hour and we were getting steadily more and more stressed. Eventually we had a phone call from another taxi firm who said they would be with us in 20 minutes. We did get to Gatwick for the flight but were very very stressed. We have complained via our booking agent but now understand it will be at least 28 days before we hear anything . No apology no concern or acknowledgment as yet . Very disappointing so I would consider very carefully before using Titan again

Thought Titan was an upmarket company but unfortunately the hotel didn’t live up to its 4* rating. The food was mediocre & the evening meal had to be ordered at breakfast. There were no fresh rolls if soup ordered for dinner. No drinks menu offered, had to sign for anything ordered & settled up at end. This meant we had no idea of cost. Asked for Prosecco one evening, Spumante brought instead. When challenged the waiter got aggressive but the bar manager did sort it out. The chairs in one lounge were very badly scuffed & almost split. Glasses in bathroom not replaced each day. Pillows were flat & hard. Wearing a swim cap nessasary for pool. This was not indicated beforehand. Tried out jacuzzi in wellness’s centre, stepped in (no handle) & slipped. No non-slip surface. Entertainment on one night only. Most people gone to bed by 1030pm On the good side - the rooms & public areas were very clean & the bathroom was a good size. The reception staff were pleasant & helpful. Pool area nice The trips were excellent, especially the Dolomites tour with local guides knowledgeable. However, while the trip to Venice was wonderful, some people with walking problems found it too hard & struggled. Our drivers to & from Heathrow were pleasant & on time

it is impossible trying to get hold of Titan Travel Company I have been trying for weeks to finalize payment and enquire before my holiday all to no avail...emails are returned "undelivered " ..and you cannot get any answer by telephone....HOPELESS.... I am now forced to cancel my holiday ..do Titan expect you to pay thousands of pounds on holidays when they provide NO customer service at all? Is this company still trading? Think carefully very carefully about using this company..

I wanted to book a holiday this September to the Greek Islands but it was fully booked. It was suggested the same holiday was planned for next year so why not book early. I then regrettably made the quick decision to book, bearing in mind the TITAN promise of the ‘Flexible Deposit’, what a joke this promise has proven to be. Later that same day as booking I realised my Annual Travel Insurance Policy would have expired by then and was worried about my policy renewal bearing in mind my longstanding pre-medical conditions. I checked with my Insurance company and was told my renewal next year would be problematic because of my increasing health problems. In learning this I tried speaking to Titan on the same day as making my booking but failed after numerous attempts to get through to them. I left several phone messages to call me back but no one ever did so. This company are impossible to contact by email and telephone. I sent emails over a two day period saying I would probably have to cancel this particular holiday because of my insurance difficulties, these were not responded to. In the day after making this booking I received an email from a Mr Gauntlett (Titan Customer Experience Director) who assertively told me that this holiday has been cancelled and as per their terms and conditions my deposit of £390 is non refundable. So much for the Titan flexible deposit promise? ? I also suggested transferring this deposit to one of three alternative holidays this coming September but this email was blocked by Titan and retuned to my mailbox through Mailer-Demon. I have reported this issue to ABTA and my Credit Card company for the return of my £390 deposit which was paid only two days previously for the planned holiday in June next year! This is the way that Titan treat a customer who has taken previous holidays and cruises with them. I just fail to believe any right thinking travel company can act in this cavalier and totally unscrupulous way with a previously satisfied customer. I just wonder what Mr Gauntlett does with his time other than cancelling folks holidays and pocketing the deposit. Interesting gentleman, Gauntlett by name, and Gauntlet by nature !! Be advised to give this travel outfit a very wide berth as there are other companies of repute to use as alternatives. Worth also looking at the reviews on the other travel websites to see what numerous other folks think about the ‘Wonderful TITAN experience, especially their FLEXIBLE DEPOSIT PROMISE. About as reliable as a chocolate tea pot……….This is one company which will be removed from my holiday choices in future.

Oh dear Ive read some really bad reviews on trust pilot. I was going to book their Australia and New Zealand trip with a Fiji stopover (our holiday of a lifetime) however after the initial email from them asking for further information I have had no reply since. Like everyone else I haven’t been able to contact Titan by phone after 3 days of holding on for 30 minutes. So looks like we will be using a different company.

I have just returned from a titan tour of Jordan. I was so looking forward to this trip. My last tour was with Wild Frontiers to India in 2019. There was no comparison. Wild Frontiers I would not hesitate to recommend. This was the first trip that I have been on my own. The travel agents recommended Titan as they take very good care of people. I was told. What a joke that was. The pick up arrived on time, but the driver decided to take a half an hour break. I told him that you need 3 hours to get through Heathrow. He told me you don't need more than 2. We arrived at after 2.30 pm, my flight was at 5pm. I wanted to get a meal before I boarded. When I got the que for check in was so long. It took over an hour to get checked in. Then I joined the very long que for customs. I waited and waited. Eventually I got to put my stuff in the crates. As I walked through the scanner the woman before me had activated it. Then I activated it. I was made to wait whilst they did a very thorough check on her. I want to say I have problem with this as it is better to be safe than sorry. By the time I was checked which took a considerable amount of time. My flight had already been called. I had to rush to the gate and had no time to eat. When I boarded and after take off. They brought meals round. I am vegetarian and Titan had not ordered my meal as promised. This happened both ways. We arrived at Jordan, me very hungry after 12am. By the time we got to the hotel it was after 2am. There was no way that I could eat until breakfast. I finally got into bed at about 3am after unpacking. The guide had an alarm call booked for us at 7.30 am. We then had to go to Jeresh for a tour in 30%c. I felt very unwell and I had only had 2 hours sleep. The guide said that it wouldn't take long. We got back to the hotel and I managed to have a small sleep. Another traveller told me that the guide had asked her to go for a drink with him. She refused. That night three of us solo women travellers were sitting down waiting for dinner and he sat down with us. There was no vegetarian choice of food for me. Eventually they got me pasta in what I thought was tomatoe sauce. Turned out to be Chilli, which gave me a very bad tummy upset. At the end of the meal we got up to go. He harassed the traveller to stay that had already refused him. I very forcefully told him she wanted to go to bed. She was feeling very upset by his behaviour. On our tours to various places his behaviour got worse. He became very misogynistic about woman. Making inappropriate comments about young women. This got worse. He was the person supposed to be looking after us. He did nothing to ensure that I could eat. He continued to harass the other female traveller by phoning her room. Also he kept staring at her making her feel very uncomfortable. I want to make clear that there were some places on this trip that I am glad I saw. Petra and Wadi Rum were fantastic. Finally we got to the Crown Plaza Resort which is a 5* hotel.That was the biggest joke of all. The superior rooms that had been booked for us had been given to locals, as the Hotel had overbooked for Eade. The rooms were not clean. No bins, no water, no cups or glasses. Other guests filthy clothing and shoes left in the rooms. My bedding had blood stains all over it. The locks to the balcony doors were broken. Not in one room but two. Eventually they fixed the door locks on the second room. Our guide who was supposed to look after us and problems out left the hotel and stayed away all of the next day, leaving us to sort out the problems. We all just wanted to get home. I have a trip booked with Titan for New Zealand next year. I really am considering cancelling it as a result of my experience on this nightmare of a trip. If you are considering using Titan check out other companies first. My advice is research using which to see whom is recommended.

Amazing South America

We have just returned from a tour of South America. The scenery and experience was excellent. Some of the hotels were a bit tired although their locations were superb. Our guide, a gentleman called John Allen made the holiday for us. He was absolutely incredible. He was knowledgeable, friendly, supportive and showed the utmost professionalism. He deserves recognition for his hard work; nothing was too much trouble. He was available 24hrs a day, absolutely amazing. Just a few suggestions: - Our morning tour of Valparaiso, Chile, was disappointing. A long time spent looking at street art could have been much better used with time at leisure and chance to take in the atmosphere over lunch. - Our local guide in Rio, Brazil was not up to expectations. He didn’t communicate efficiently which led to confusion and some tensions in the airport and also during a tour of Christ the Redeemer. This was such a shame as on a holiday of this nature, the whole experience relies on the help and communication of the guides and in this instance, the lack of help caused unnecessary difficulties. Overall, an awesome holiday. South America is a wonderful place to visit.

Temples abd Waterways

It was a fabulous trip which exceeded my expectations. We saw some amazing Temples and enjoyed the Harvest Festival celebrations! The Coconut Lagoon was a lovely hotel. We saw the backwaters which were scenic and quiet. A big thank you to our Tour Leader Charles (Madurai). He had a big group to organise and he took it in his stride. His knowledge was extensive. He was kind, thoughtful and had a great sense of humour!!! He certainly contributed to a wonderful trip!

Great Indian Train Tour

Lots of travelling but much of it by train which gets you in amongst authentic local people. Visits to all the many sites very well guided by Rathi. As the Tuk Tuk is such an iconic means of transport I was disappointed (and surprised) that a ride wasn't included. Long days mean little time to just 'chill' but you can't have it both ways. An all 'round good trip.

Fantastic adventure holiday

Fantastic adventure holiday, full on and packed with interesting excursions, sights and sounds to remember all made easy by a superb tour manager, Colin, who solved any problems and went that bit further to make it a holiday of a lifetime. Indian adventures

Being picked up from home in the titan VIP coach was great & took the stress out of parking at LHR. Being met at the airport by Alison Brown who was friendly & helpful throughout our trip & made it such an enjoyable experience, nothing was too much trouble & everything was seamless, our shopping soirées were great fun - lots of laughs throughout. Our in country guide Munish was informative & friendly, the driver & his helper were super making sure we were looked after throughout our long drives. Our group really gelled & we have made many new friends - would recommend this holiday to my friends & family.

Went on the India Triangle tour in…Jan24

Went on the India Triangle tour in Jan24. Excursions all very good. Comfort breaks well managed (a need for us senior citizens) Local tour guide, Bhu, was excellent keeping us amused as well as informed at each visit. However, the English tour guide, Peter, was as much use as a chocolate teapot. He gave the impression he was there under sufferance. Minimal communications and apparently totally unaware of certain issues (lack of train, lunch stops etc) Shame about the weather - Delhi very smoggy. I don't think we should be taken to these factory outlets who seem so perfect but in reality are rip off's - yes I am talking about the jewelry outlet in particular- we googled it. Are the reps on some sort of commission?

This fantastic holiday exceeded my expectations in every way and a huge contribution to this was our brilliant tour manager, Charles (Madurai). Charles went above and beyond to make the tour run smoothly for everyone. His knowledge of every aspect of the places visited and way of life was amazing. He brought our large group of travellers together through his warmth and personality. The pace of the tour was just right and had variety. The hotels and food were generally of a good standard. Titan…The Great Indian Rail Journey has to be one if not the best holidays we have been on. Full of content. Everything was enjoyable. Amar our tour manager being local and so knowledgeable was priceless. He was so personable and efficiently organised with everything. Even when he had to change the programme he did it effortlessly and effectively. Many happy memories.

Think twice before booking

We paid a lot of money for an escorted holiday to Hawaii - first problem was only name of first hotel was provided, not address which you need when filling out details at the airport. We knew hotel was only 3* but it was very shabby and cockroaches didn’t help. The escort was first class but he had to pay for himself to go on any trips so not always there. I know Maui was cancelled due to the fire and a couple of new trips organised to a salt factory which everyone found boring and the quickest trip around a coffee plantation. The driver going was excellent and took a break as necessary, the driver returning nearly went into the back of the vehicle in front twice in the first half hour, I had to say something and he also drove us home over 5 hours without a break, dangerous! I’ve complained and the auto response said it would take 28 days to respond, I had to remind them 65 days later and then I finally heard another 10 days later and all they had to say was sorry. I would think twice before booking with Titan.

Cancelled booking but no refund.

I booked a tour of Cuba at a cost of around £3,000. Just before travelling, I lost my passport and could not get a new one in time to travel, which was not their fault. My insurance did not cover the loss because the passport was lost in the UK. However, when I asked if I could get any refund, they offered nothing, despite the fact that they had saved around £400 in taxi fares in the UK alone, airline tax, hotel costs, meals etc. They offered a measly 2.5% for a re-booking. I will not be taking up their miserable offer or travelling with them again in the future. Titan's response below was not at all helpful and I won't be booking with them again!

No response to a complaint made over 3 months ago.

I have waited 3 months to post this review, allowing Titan time to respond to my complaint. Unfortunately, I have had not had the courtesy of any meaningful response from them. We went on a Magic of the Nile Cruise in early November. We enjoyed it and were satisfactorily looked after by our tour manager and the Egyptologist was very good. Our VIP transfer to the airport was fine. However, on our return, what should have taken no more than 2h 15 mins, took 3hr 40mins. I have detailed the journey in 2 emails sent to customer services on 10/11/23 and 29/12/23. After radio silence from anyone in Titan, I then called customer services on 18/01/24. Apologies were offered with a promise that my complaint would be sent to VIP services. I received an email from customer services after the call, but it did not address my complaint so I wonder if my emails were read at all. There has been no contact from VIP services. This was our first trip with Titan, and given that they can't be bothered to reply to a complaint, it was also our last. It makes me wonder what else they can't be bothered with when taking people on holiday. 22/2/24 Dear Nick, thank you for your response. I have done this. I am not optimistic as I haven't had any success so far. I will update this review at a later date if there is anything to add. 29/2/24 I received a response from customer services, with many but generic apologies and £100 off our next holiday. Apology acknowledged, but I'm not tempted to book another Titan holiday.

The Great Indian Railway Journey - Amazing Trip aided by Fantastic Guide

We have just returned back from The Great Indian Railway Journey. It was a fantastic experience where we saw some marvellous sites and also saw India in its rawest state – memories that will last us a lifetime. Our experience was greatly enhanced by the efforts of our tour Guide, Rahi Raza. He was very knowledgeable, not only giving us some in-depth information about the sites we were visiting but also India in general. He also dealt superbly with unexpected issues thrown at him – overcoming hurdles in plans due to the farmers protests and even us getting stuck in a lift! Overall his communication, and rapport, with the group was first class – an excellent guide 5+ stars. The reason I have only given an overall 4 star review is that I believe that Titan themselves could have been more specific/honest about their description of the holiday. My main point is that the holiday details, brochure or final documents, made no mention that, on many occasions, our luggage was to go ahead of us by road, the evening before. I fully understand the reasons for this, it would have been a nightmare for us to have handled large suitcases ourselves on the Indian railways. That said, if we were aware of this, then we would have taken a cabin bag with us as onboard luggage rather than just two small backpacks. My second point was that, in discussion with Customer Services, I was given the impression that the trains carriages we would be travelling in, except that of our final journey, were to be of a better quality that they actually were.

Great Holiday in Costa Rica

We booked on SAGA but the holiday in Costa Rica seemed to be run by Titan. So have written a review on Saga and will also post one on Titan. Firstly the holiday was fantastic and was very well organised and run by our tour leader Humberto. He was very well supported throughout the tour by his driver Mario. Each was very well prepared and knowledgeable. Humberto was an expert in the wildlife of Costa Rica and this allowed us to see so much. The tours were all very informative and interesting and would recommend doing the one’s that most interest you. We went on most and were not disappointed with any. The boat crocodile trip was our favourite. Hotels were generally ok with good quality food but it was quite repetitive. Fruit was excellent. Room at the second hotel was basic and the shower was difficult to use and quite often there was no hot water. Costa Rica is a wonderful country and well worth visiting. All in all the holiday had been well planned to allow the visitors to see a very large section of the country.

Feedback on Raji Tour Guide for Great Indian Rail Journey by Saga - Titan

Really good organised tour and Raji was an extremely competent guide , dealing with all questions and issues in a very professional manner over the 15 day tour duration in India.

Costa Rica with the Panama Canal

This holiday was my 10th with Titan as a couple or single traveller and I wasn't disappointed. Our Tour Manager, Mark, was always on hand to ensure all went smoothly without treating us (17 adults) as children! Mariou, the local guide in Costa Rica, was not the best some days but luckily Mark had an amazing knowledge of the country. As an example he made a handwritten list of about 200 wildlife we had seen on the tour and gave us all paper copies when we left there. The tour was as described with excellent optional Excursions which were well attended. A couple of days before we were due to fly on to Panama City the Copa Airlines flight was cancelled due to their planes being grounded but Titan managed to rebook our 18 seats with United Airlines. On arrival at Panama we were met by our excellent local guide and this part of the holiday was also as described and amazing. Thanks to our Tour Manager Mark and Titan for another holiday with wonderful memories.

As a partner of Saga, Titian need good shake up

As a partner of Saga who we booked with and we trusted ,the whole experince left a lot to be desired if I was honest I would give you minus 5 All hotels advertised in the brochure were good hotel's however we dident stay anyone all changed when we got there.and NO we were not advised of the changed Trade description act springs to mind The buses we travelled in had to be changed several time to make the journey ruling of Titian we needed to wear seat belts fit but they dident fit or fasten properly albeit the driver and assistant where so helpful We just said what the hell We never actually knew where we would be staying apart from when we were booked in for two nights but couldn't guarantee our room or towels would be changed certainly not bedlinen However the worst experince was in Rathombon the Tiger sanctuary" Safari Hotel," rooms damp,beds soiled, mouldy walls and curtains , wiring so unsafe , showers dident work only cold water as heater was unsafe high on the wall in the wet area ,toilets well you don't go there even for India and I have travelled there for last thirty years cleaners about but we never saw one near our room Dident dare go bare footed so ended up throwing away socks Garden lovely but nothing to sit on but few pink velvet grubby ex dinning room chairs Reception or rather entrance two very shabby well worn sofas but as that was the only place we could get the indifferent WiFi we all congregated I fully appreciate tte effort put into sorting things by our tour manager But she should not have had to do that well above her pay scale even gave up her own room The feed back forms listed the hotels we should have stayed at which all got zero rating as we couldn't comment never saw them I appreciate that is the big wedding season and they are very elaborate several days events and lot of pressure is put on hotels however if the local agent did their job properly we would have strict contracts it was a " not my fault " attitude and Head Office folk need sorting as well The local agent however knowing and living over there they did very well out of it scandalous considering everything taxed perhaps the .local agents earnings should be investigated However the rest of our party that went onto Goa had exactly the same done to them allegedly problem with the air con they were moved losing day of their holiday But local staff admitted there was a wedding and conference at their hotel and was over booked surprise surprise So Titian get yourself sorted you not doing your sister company any favours total shambolic, expensive holiday totally ruined so what are you going to do about it ? I think ABTA will be interested as will the Chief at Saga Mr John Constable heads should role

no upgrade info

Just tried booking for a Costa Rica tour for January 2025. The agent needs some training in how to LISTEN to clients rather than just parroting a script. When able to get a word in for our requirements for quote to fly business class, he had no idea. He said flights had not been released and it would be about 2 months before a quote could be given. Yet the BA site had the flights available to book. This means that if Titan can get the upgraded flights they would not be the cheapest as the first batch of seats will have been sold and the next batches would be more expensive. Titan really need to employ people who work in an office and not from home. Expertise is not available from these people and no effort is made to fulfil customers requests outside of the usual script. A poor and amateurish company to deal with. Titan have lost a significant booking thanks to their ineptitude. Thank you for the bog standard reply by Nick. No attempt to address the issues and no explanation.

Where are the reviews ?

I have taken one excellent Titan tour , Venice and Lake Garda 2018, now no longer available . I was late booking in 2019 and couldn’t book a tour I wanted .I looked to book last year 2023 and was not happy with the reviews , particularly of the hotels . The reviews suddenly disappeared . What has happened to the reviews on the Titan website ? I can only assume the less than sparkling reviews put others off as well as me . It’s the easy way out , get rid of adverse reviews instead of addressing those issues. My 2018 experience was very good indeed though I would say I stayed at one of the worst and also one of the best hotels I have stayed at .

Booking holiday was easy with Titan. Tried online but couldn't. So phoned and was greeted friendly and quick. Agent checked availability of holiday, flights and rooms. Had to change requested date due to lack of flights available, but no harm done as not fixed on date going.

Beautiful Costa Rica

Firstly, the holiday itself. Fabulous! The accommodation in San Jose was a comfortable city hotel. Villa Lapas - a wonderful location, lots of wildlife, very basic and could have been cleaner. Talajari Resort was simply lovely. I enjoyed the food, although it didn't vary much. What made this holiday so great was our Tour Manager. Humberto knows Costa Rica! His wildlife spotting skills and understanding of the local environment are awe inspiring. He also knows a great deal about the history and culture of the country. He mentioned some cultural trips which he has suggested to Titan who should take up his suggestions - we would have jumped at them!! The optional trips were well organised, and our amazing driver Mario managed the challenges of the narrow roads and steep slopes wonderfully. He was a professional, friendly, polite and caring young man. I was unfortunately disappointed prior to our trip by the admin team. My 3 email requests for information about the flights went unanswered, and the phone response not terribly helpful. Several of our group were able to check in ahead of the flight - an option we were told was unavailable! The group was larger than I expected, but Humberto did a great job of keeping everything running smoothly! Costa Rica and its wildlife are stunning, and I am so happy to have seen so much of it with a superb guide.

Never again Titan!

I made a complaint by post on 21st November 2023. Titan said they did not receive my letter! I made complaints about my trip to Sicily. The most serious complaint was that we travelled on a coach that was not fully fitted with seat belts! The coach had irregular spaces for your legs so some passengers had to travel with their legs in the gangway. The tyres on the coach were smoking! By email I have been corresponding with Nicola. Recently she said Titan "Only contract with establishments that display an exemplary record of health and safety". Really? Our guide was a "shoe-in" and knew nothing about Sicily. She insisted we change seats every day despite some guests being worried about lack of seatbelts and lack of room. I will continue to try to point out to this company that their retoric and promises do not match their performance. Our return from Gatwick took over 4 hours yet going to Gatwick it was under 2 hours. Very little traffic but several drop-offs. Another promise ignored. Where is customer support when the customer needs it?

Appalling VIP pickup service and tour manager

We went on "Jewels of the Aegean"/"Greek Island Medley" in October 2023. We were a big crowed of 44 people.. mostly in our late 70's, 80's and even over 90years, which was way too big. Our VIP pickup time was 7.30 am in the morning, for an early flight the following day, necessitating an overnight hotel stay and awful food, despite other guests being picked up in the evening and only two hours further south on the same route to Heathrow. The only option we were given was to pay £500 for a Private transfer, which we refused ! The Saga driver, I have to say, was excellent, and the transport was comfortable in a saloon car. The return journey was not ! We were in a transit van with rear facing and forward facing seats, which was not conducive for a long journey. Our tour manager left a lot to be desired. He was loud,(you could hear him shouting across the hotel foyer "Team Titan") which is not what you or other guests in the hotel want to hear. He was very vocal and rude, and at the time, refused to refund our euros 120, for a tour he cancelled. This has partially been repaid by Titan, as he had refused to reimburse us, and only after many letters and phone calls by our travel agent. However, his attitude to my wife was intolerable, in her face, to an extent that even other guests were concerned about her. The effect of this marred our holiday. To date, we are still looking for compensation, but Titan continue to not answer phones, every letter says 28 days, and even that date they do not adhere to. It seems that the amalgamation of Titan and Saga is only going to get worse. In the past we have travelled with both companies, since 2009, as individual companies, but now since amalgamation, they are both lowering standards, and customer care has deteriorated beyond belief, with ridiculous response times. We await a satisfactory resolution to our complaint, but sadly we will probably not book another holiday, unless there is a remarkable upturn in your customer relations. After all it is us, the public who pay to keep you in employment. Despite Nick giving the "Titan " speak in his response, after contacting Titan, as instructed, the reply has been very negative. They have not taken our concerns seriously at all, ignoring completely the statements from us about our experience. We did not just "not attend" an excursion, the tour manager cancelled it, saying he would refund the money (please refer to correspondence) which has either been ignored or twisted, and the truth of what actually took place between my wife and the tour manager over several days following that incident, as she tried to get the refund, has left us with very poor memories of what should have been an enjoyable holiday. We will not travel with Titan again, if this is how they treat long-standing customers, who have a genuine complaint.

Wonderful solo holiday

Our tour guide Janice was wonderful. Nothing too much trouble and always checking to see if everyone was ok. Good with giving information and making sure we were prepared for each adventure. The driving, portage and local guides also excellent. Was my first solo holiday but won’t be my last. The itinerary sounded breathtaking and it was. Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, Pink city of Jaipur plus other fabulous places. The traffic and local madness all added to the adventure. Was so so lucky to see. a Bengal tiger and cubs at Ranthambhore. Pity the train had to be cancelled but no one can plan for the Indian government to decide to build a temple during your visit. Lots of road travelling involved but there was always something to see and be amazed by.

Costa Rica January 2024

Spent a full 2 weeks in 3 hotels, full board including local drinks, travelled round in comfortable coach. All the included excursions were excellent and the optional ones were good value and enabled us to see a wide selection of animals, birds, insects and reptiles. Our party were well looked after by our tour manager Humberto and safely driven by Herman Overall one of my best ( of many) vacations, would recommend it to anyone who likes wildlife in its natural habitat

My trip to the India Triangle was on my…

My trip to the India Triangle was on my bucket list. I was very apprehensive as I was a solo traveller. However my tour guide was fantastic. Janice Kilmurry Was our tour guide who had many years of experience and she ensured all our needs and problems were addressed and sorted. The days we visited were not the best due to bad weather but Janice made sure, whatever the weather, we had the best possible experience we could have. The obvious poorly tums happened but Janice was there ensuring the correct medical attention was given. I had a great time and Janice’s personal knowledge of India ensured I had a fantastic visit.

Not impressed so far !…

We've only just gone through the booking process!......and not filled with confidence. The only reason we've booked with Titan is that it was the itinerary we wanted,and based on most reviews,they offer a good service. Here s my opinion so far... 1)Titan need to answer their phone more quickly to show they value customers who want to book a holiday.We were on hold for about 20/25 minutes. 2)when things are not available(as with us,there was an issue with flights & time was needed for the aviation team to resolve),they should get back in touch within the timescale given,or at least make contact to keep the customer informed . 3)when things like 'free lounge pass if you book before 31st Jan' are offered ,it should be made more clear that this doesn't apply to all airports &terminals.

Titan will not look after you when things go wrong

Ecuador and Galapagos Islands tour in November. Our connecting flight to Amsterdam was delayed so we missed the flight to Quito. We had to book ourselves on flight next day, and stay overnight in Amsterdam. There was no proactive communication from titan. I emailed them as soon as I knew we'd be delayed, no response,and ended up calling them hours later from the hotel in Amsterdam. At no point did they contact us about any of the changes or implications of missing the connection.No customer service at all when things go wrong, no aftercare, and complaints are fobbed off. I had to chase my complaint today after almost 2 months had passed. They replied, not addressing my concerns, and trying to shift responsibility of compensation to the airline, who have already refused compensation. We lost a day and night of our very expensive holiday. Be careful when booking with titan, they do not look after you when things go wrong. Where do I go now?

Our holiday to the temples and…

Our holiday to the temples and waterways of South India gave us a wonderful insight into South India, including the chance to see some of the Festival celebrations taking place. We saw fascinating and varied sights, from historic temples to the backwaters of Kerala and including paddy fields, tea plantations, the local countryside and the growth of local spices, as well as much else. Hotel meals were usually very good, and accommodation ranged from good to excellent. Our guide, Charles Madurai, was superb. Throughout the holiday he worked hard to ensure that everything went smoothly and that everyone in our quite big group was well looked after and happy. His excellent leadership, local knowledge and sense of humour very much ensured that this was an outstanding holiday.

Poor administration

I have travelled with Titan for over 25 years and have enjoyed every holiday. But recently, since the takeover by SAGA, your administration is deplorable. I have booked a tour of Australia but cannot access the My Titan section to pay for the trip. Every time I try to log on the message 'your details are incorrect' comes up. Speaking to one of your advisors, I am told it is a computer glitch. This has been going on for 6 months now. When will it be fixed or is there another way to pay online?

Titan Travel. We have travelled quite a few times…

We have travelled quite a few times with Titan Travel. Over the years we have dealt with a few different Titan representatives. Lately we have discovered an amazing guy called Chandan Shekhawat. Chandan is our main go-to guy regarding our bookings. Nothing is an issue for him. He keeps us posted on every aspect of our holiday, regardless of how insignificant it may be. Thanks to Chandan, we will continue to book with Titan, he is a credit to the company. If you are considering a Tour with Titan, please do not hesitate, they are fantastic. Depending on the tour you choose the scenery is second to none. The hotels are amazing and the tour guides are great.I fully recommend Chandan.

no upgrade info

Just tried booking for a Costa Rica tour for January 2025. The agent needs some training in how to LISTEN to clients rather than just parroting a script. When able to get a word in for our requirements for quote to fly business class, he had no idea. He said flights had not been released and it would be about 2 months before a quote could be given. Yet the BA site had the flights available to book. This means that if Titan can get the upgraded flights they would not be the cheapest as the first batch of seats will have been sold and the next batches would be more expensive. Titan really need to employ people who work in an office and not from home. Expertise is not available from these people and no effort is made to fulfil customers requests outside of the usual script. A poor and amateurish company to deal with. Titan have lost a significant booking thanks to their ineptitude. Thank you for the bog standard reply by Nick. No attempt to address the issues and no explanation.

I have taken one excellent Titan tour , Venice and Lake Garda 2018, now no longer available . I was late booking in 2019 and couldn’t book a tour I wanted .I looked to book last year 2023 and was not happy with the reviews , particularly of the hotels . The reviews suddenly disappeared . Costa Rica January 2024

Spent a full 2 weeks in 3 hotels, full board including local drinks, travelled round in comfortable coach. All the included excursions were excellent and the optional ones were good value and enabled us to see a wide selection of animals, birds, insects and reptiles. Our party were well looked after by our tour manager Humberto and safely driven by Herman Overall one of my best ( of many) vacations, would recommend it to anyone who likes wildlife in its natural habitat

My trip to the India Triangle was on my…

My trip to the India Triangle was on my bucket list. I was very apprehensive as I was a solo traveller. However my tour guide was fantastic. Janice Kilmurry Was our tour guide who had many years of experience and she ensured all our needs and problems were addressed and sorted. The days we visited were not the best due to bad weather but Janice made sure, whatever the weather, we had the best possible experience we could have. The obvious poorly tums happened but Janice was there ensuring the correct medical attention was given. I had a great time and Janice’s personal knowledge of India ensured I had a fantastic visit.

Not impressed so far !…

We've only just gone through the booking process!......and not filled with confidence. The only reason we've booked with Titan is that it was the itinerary we wanted,and based on most reviews,they offer a good service. Here s my opinion so far... 1)Titan need to answer their phone more quickly to show they value customers who want to book a holiday.We were on hold for about 20/25 minutes. 2)when things are not available(as with us,there was an issue with flights & time was needed for the aviation team to resolve),they should get back in touch within the timescale given,or at least make contact to keep the customer informed . 3)when things like 'free lounge pass if you book before 31st Jan' are offered ,it should be made more clear that this doesn't apply to all airports &terminals.

Titan will not look after you when things go wrong

Ecuador and Galapagos Islands tour in November. Our connecting flight to Amsterdam was delayed so we missed the flight to Quito. We had to book ourselves on flight next day, and stay overnight in Amsterdam. There was no proactive communication from titan. I emailed them as soon as I knew we'd be delayed, no response,and ended up calling them hours later from the hotel in Amsterdam. At no point did they contact us about any of the changes or implications of missing the connection.No customer service at all when things go wrong, no aftercare, and complaints are fobbed off. I had to chase my complaint today after almost 2 months had passed. They replied, not addressing my concerns, and trying to shift responsibility of compensation to the airline, who have already refused compensation. We lost a day and night of our very expensive holiday. Be careful when booking with titan, they do not look after you when things go wrong. Where do I go now?

Our holiday to the temples and…

Our holiday to the temples and waterways of South India gave us a wonderful insight into South India, including the chance to see some of the Festival celebrations taking place. We saw fascinating and varied sights, from historic temples to the backwaters of Kerala and including paddy fields, tea plantations, the local countryside and the growth of local spices, as well as much else. Hotel meals were usually very good, and accommodation ranged from good to excellent. Our guide, Charles Madurai, was superb. Throughout the holiday he worked hard to ensure that everything went smoothly and that everyone in our quite big group was well looked after and happy. His excellent leadership, local knowledge and sense of humour very much ensured that this was an outstanding holiday.

Poor administration

I have travelled with Titan for over 25 years and have enjoyed every holiday. But recently, since the takeover by SAGA, your administration is deplorable. I have booked a tour of Australia but cannot access the My Titan section to pay for the trip. Every time I try to log on the message 'your details are incorrect' comes up. Speaking to one of your advisors, I am told it is a computer glitch. This has been going on for 6 months now. When will it be fixed or is there another way to pay online?

Titan Travel. We have travelled quite a few times…

We have travelled quite a few times with Titan Travel. Over the years we have dealt with a few different Titan representatives. Lately we have discovered an amazing guy called Chandan Shekhawat. Chandan is our main go-to guy regarding our bookings. Nothing is an issue for him. He keeps us posted on every aspect of our holiday, regardless of how insignificant it may be. Thanks to Chandan, we will continue to book with Titan, he is a credit to the company. If you are considering a Tour with Titan, please do not hesitate, they are fantastic. Depending on the tour you choose the scenery is second to none. The hotels are amazing and the tour guides are great.I fully recommend Chandan.
