Hotel Review: Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel

We took a quick weekend trip to Paris earlier this month. We flew Air France from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) (review here) and went over to our hotel after a crowd-free trip through immigration. For this trip, I wanted to try something different. The past two times I have been in Paris, I stayed at the Westin Paris – Vendôme and since I needed Marriott stays and had never heard of the hotel, I decided on the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel .

Anthony’s Take: The location of the hotel was alright, but other than the Eiffel Tower we had to take Uber rides. The Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel  is a smaller hotel with 122 rooms and suites. It doesn’t offer many amenities and the rooms are not set up for guests to be able to control the temperature (the room was burning hot and we could not turn on the air conditioner).

I booked a Eiffel Tower View, Junior Suite, 1 King directly from  Marriott.com on a Member Rate Prepay Non-refundable (shown above). If booking the hotel with Bonvoy points, it will cost 55,000-90,000 points per night for a standard room. Rates vary since Marriott eliminated its award buckets.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

We took an Uber Premier from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel. The ride took around 28 minutes to go the 30.6 kilometers and cost around $55. The return trip was a similar cost and time.

The location of this hotel is not the most convenient for sightseeing other than the Eiffel Tower. There was a Starbucks close by, but other than that we took Uber rides everywhere.

We arrived around 10:00 AM. Our suite was ready because I booked the night before to ensure that we would have access to shower and sleep once we arrived (after having been on a transatlantic flight). A few days before arrival, the hotel reached out and tried to downgrade me to a room as there was a technical issue with my suite. I objected and asked them to find me another suite. They found a Family Suite and reserved that for me. I was given breakfast and 1,000 points as a welcome amenity. This Renaissance does not have a lounge and that is why two amenities were provided. We had keys a few moments later and were off to our suite.

There was lots of seating around the lobby.

There were two elevators. Both were fairly slow.

The hallways were rather crowded and dated.

Family Suite, 1 King (415)

Our suite was on the 4th floor out of eight. The hotel has 122 rooms and suites.

There is a half bathroom upon entering the suite. It has a vanity and toilet.

L’Occitane brand soap was on the counter.

A closet was located near the half bath. It held a safe, Nespresso machine, and refrigerator.

The refrigerator was empty and ready for guest use.

The living room was a bit further inside. It had a desk and chair.

Another welcome amenity was on the desk. It consisted of two bottles of orange soda and some cookies.

A couch, chair, and two tables filled the rest of the room.

The bedroom was off of the living room. It had a king-sized bed that was pretty comfortable.

It also held a chair and flat-screen TV. The entire suite was extremely hot and control of the temperature was limited. We had to open the window to regulate the temperature. This made the room unpleasant and it was hot enough that I would not choose to stay at this hotel again in the winter.

There were two closets here. The first held robes, an iron, and ironing board.

The second had the blowdryer, slippers, and laundry bag.

The bathroom door was near the closets. It was rather small with the vanity against the shower. Water pressure and temperature were fine.

Another L’Occitane soap bar was on the counter along with mouthwash.

Wall-mounted lotion was found here.

Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner were found in large bottles mounted in the shower.

I was happy that the toilet was not wedged too close to the shower.

As mentioned above, the breakfast for elite members includes the full buffet in the restaurant found on the lobby level. It was your standard breakfast spread with meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, bread, pastries, and several hot options. One standout: the mini berry and chocolate muffins. Load up on these as they are amazing.

Overall Impression: The Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel is not in the most convenient location, has limited amenities, and the room was stiflingly hot. I would not return to this hotel unless I had no other option.

Overall rating

We stayed here for a few days prior to our Seine River cruise. The property is centrally located to many great restaurants, the Metro, and shopping. In addition, you are within walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower. As part of our package we were treated to a buffet breakfast that had an amazing selection of pastries, hot foods, and meats and cheeses. There is a unique garden in the middle of the property, which hosted several parties while we were there. The bar is very small, but well stocked. The garden was wonderful just sit and enjoy some peace and quiet after a long day of touring. The rooms were surprisingly large and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and attended to our every request in a timely manner.

Bed was very comfortable with lots of room.

The quick version. It's close to the effiel tower, but still it's a 10-15 minute walk away. Part of Marriott so you can probably book with points. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms not that clean and bed hard as a rock. Where to start? We had higher expectations for this hotel. We booked with points so we got a good redemption. This hotel is close to the effiel tower, but there are other hotels namely a best Western that was much closer. The neighborhood otherwise is quiet and not many shops or restaurants. The hotel was full so there were no upgrades available. We got checked in fast and the the staff helped with our luggage. The room was normal size for Europe. The ac didn't get that cold even at the lowest setting of 17c. This was during a heatwave when it was close to 37-38c everyday. Still better then no ac. The air vent was very dirty. Looked like nobody had cleaned it for months. I get a little bit of build up but this was caked on. The bed was hard as a rock and lumpy. The kind of bed you expect at a roadside motel 6 maybe, not at a hotel that was charging 400 euros a night. The only reason we didn't move was because it was summer and we didn't want to move everything to another hotel. The rest of the room was clean but still I could see dirt buildup in the corners. The full breakfast included with our stay was sub par. I get it, the French don't normally eat big breakfasts. But this was by the far the worst one we had during our almost 3 week trip in Europe. The fruit was fresh and the eggs were ok. The rest was barely better then a Fairfield inn breakfast. Again I usually pay around 100-150 for Fairfield inns. Staff was pretty friendly and helpful. Concierge helped us book lunch. This was one of the few good points for this hotel is the staff. In conclusion I would probably find another hotel to stay at. If the price is low enough and you want to be near the effiel tower and are a Marriott loyalist then maybe it's worth it? Otherwise I don't think it's worth it.

One of the most ok hotels I've ever stayed at in Paris. Rooms are nice, location is grand. A but spread out and inconvenient.

I had planned the trip of a lifetime for me and my mom.  We were going to France!  We had reservations for 7 days at the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel, which we knew was a four star hotel. We arrived at the hotel on Saturday, April 8th, and were checked in without any major problems. We received two keys to room 363 in a building that was toward the back of the property.  Apparently they have several different buildings that are a part of the hotel.  There was walkway construction going on and we had to be careful rolling our luggage because the wheels were getting stuck.  The walkway was 90% completed by the time we  checked out. We were there for the whole repair. It rained almost daily during our stay and the taped down plastic covering they placed over the decking leading to our building was slippery.  My 73 year old mother could not walk on this covering and risk falling, so we walked a longer distance to get to our building. We got to room 363, unlocked and opened the door. The disappointment I felt was overwhelming. The room was barely big enough to hold a queen size bed, 2 night stands, a small sitting table with ONE chair, a table with a TV, and a small armoire with a coffee maker and a mini fridge inside. Squeezing in all of our luggage made for very tight living quarters. We were exhausted from flying all night and just wanted to rest a bit.  This would have to do for now. I tried to settle in and plugged in my outlet adapter and proceeded to use it.  The power went out immediately.  I called down to the front desk and someone was sent to reset the circuit breaker/fuse. With the power back on, we figured we'd get showered and rest a bit.  The shower.......was a nightmare.  The drain catch wasn't working properly and the shower flooded the bathroom floor.  The partition to keep the water  in was a joke. I used up all the extra towels mopping up the floor.  We called the front desk again.  Someone else was sent up to check the shower.  The worker fixed the drain so that the catch worked properly and told us that that's how the shower works as far as the water going everywhere.  I have NEVER heard of such. I was frustrated with the room and I knew I was going to ask to be switched.  There were other issues with the room.  I may as well address them all here.  The sink also leaked.  Water would leak around the faucets and then start leaking and pooling over the counter top.  The television greeted me every single day with Welcome Mr. Brandon Azad. I saw all of his daily charges. I asked the front desk about it. They acted like this wasn't a big deal.  I also asked about another room.  There were no rooms to switch to is what they said. Three days later, I was offered another room that was supposed to be better in another building.  The room was MUCH better, but it was on the 3rd floor with NO elevators. This was not going to work. I was not going to expect my mother to have to walk up those stairs nor was I trying to haul our luggage up and down. They offered to have someone do all of that, but I knew that was going to be a problem having to wait indefinitely when we needed to move the luggage.  Also, we wanted to make a cup of coffee. We tried to use the coffee machine, only to find that there was nowhere to plug it in in the armoire.  The mini fridge must have had access through a hole somewhere in the back.  In order to make coffee we had to plug the pot in on the floor because the cord on the coffee pot was too short to even sit on the small table and reach the outlet.  As I look at the daily charges for the room and the quality of the accommodations, I feel cheated.  I thought I was paying extra for the attention to details...those little things that set a 4 star hotel apart from a 1 or 2 star hotel.  The hotel you choose is important because this is your home away from home.  Had I known that the accommodations were going to be this disappointing , I would have never agreed to this reservation. Everyday my mom and I went out to enjoy the sites of the city, only to dread coming back to the room where we had to endure tight living conditions, and a crappy shower.  It was hard trying to keep a happy face for my mom when I felt like I let her down. I talked up this fantastic trip and 4 star accommodations, only to let her down. She told me that it was okay, but it WASN'T. This was NOT the trip I planned. My dream trip turned into a "let's make the best of it."  Maybe it was the language barrier, but this situation wasn't handled the way it should have been handled.  I am very disappointed. I have NO desire to EVER return to the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel hotel.  My 4-star experience never happened.  My advice to anyone considering making reservations here is to inquire about the specifics of the room you will be staying in. Room 363 will always be remembered.

My wife and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris and we're very happy with our hotel choice. The hotel has a boutique feel to it as it is small (only 6 rooms on our floor), the room was clean, and the staff was excellent. On the car ride in, our driver said that we are less than 5 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower, which was fantastic. walking out of the hotel either left or fight, there were plenty restaurants choices and pastry shops. we ate at 3 of the restaurants and we're not disappointed. there is a laundry mat, pharmacy and small store within a minute walk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel is ok. HOWEVER don't try to get any Sleep if you have an inner courtyard room as the overpriced restaurant in the courtyard plays loud music u til 2 AM. Not worth the overpriced room charge.

Location location location! Tiny boutique hotel situated perfectly from all high points of paris. We are so so glad we stayed here for 4 nights! 20 min walk from most of the major sites: -Arc de triomph -Champs-Élysées -Eiffel tower -5 min between two Metro stations to get you to all other sites around paris in 20 min. Uber: we had to wait no more than 5-6 min day or night and found it soo much easier and a time saver vs finding the metro and getting lost. -all cars were really nice (all high end) You are also in what it seems to be a yuppy areas so we found it full of locals, working professionals, restaurants 5-10 min walk in any direction. -minimal youngster shenanigans (mostly 28+over) walking their dogs morning and night. There is great shopping right down the street about 10 min and then 8 min past that is shopping mecca Champs-Élysées. Also Quiet!! At night... which is awesome! -our room had a view of the Eiffel which was super cool. Very friendly service... front desk and restaurant staff speak english. Rooms are small as expected in Paris and a bit dated but VERY clean. We had breakfast each morning (im a marriott gold so free... awesome!) -they will make you eggs upon request -the croissants are made daily and worth busting your skinny no carb jeans open for! -the "american coffee" served is pretty terrible.. ask for a "cafe creme" ahhh.. french coffee. All in all we would be back here over and over again. Well done guys!!!

I decided to write this while sitting here in the room in the bed staring out my window watching the wind blow. (sounds like a book) lol / This place is great, when I come back it'll be here in this same room. The staff is amazing, it's quiet, and clean. I love how it's set up with the lights by the bed as well as the bathroom. The mirror and the shower in there was well thought of. Though I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant or order room service my stay here was well worth it. I check out in a few hours, who knows I may have time to stop by there.

What a terrible restaurant in this hotel. We have been waiting 20 minutes for service. Meanwhile, three employees behind the bar are conversing with one another. We are not the only ones who are not getting service-everyone is being ignored. I would have imagined that an expensive, fancy hotel like this would offer better service. Very disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. We are not staying at this hotel so I cannot comment on that - just on the restaurant.

This was our first time in Paris- we went straight to the hotel after arriving- so the staff here were the first locals we encountered. I cannot say enough about what a great experience and a great first impression we had while we visited. Every employee, most especially the front desk staff, were beyond helpful. We do not speak any French and thought we may have an issue, definitely not the case. I am grateful to have booked with Marriott, I got more than I expected by staying here.
