Nightlife in Miami & Miami Beach

Miami, a radiant gem of the Sunshine State, doesn't just bask under the sun; it shines equally bright under the moonlight. Tourists who have opted for vacation packages in Miami often find that the nightlife is a mesmerizing blend of rhythm, color, and energy, promising experiences as diverse as the city itself.

The heart of Miami's nightlife undoubtedly beats loudest in Miami Beach, particularly in the vibrant enclave of South Beach. The iconic strip of South Beach, Miami Beach with its art deco backdrop and oceanic front, transforms as the sun sets. The balmy breezes carry the beats of Latin rhythms, techno vibes, and the gentle hum of conversation from one end of the beach to the other. For those on vacation packages that include accommodations, many hotels in South Beach offer rooftop bars and lounges, allowing guests to enjoy the nightlife without ever leaving their property.

If you're seeking sophistication and elegance during your stay, upscale cocktail bars and lounges dot the Miami landscape. Many high-end hotels in the Miami Beach area boast their own chic nightlife venues, where craft cocktails and curated music set the mood. It's not uncommon for visitors, after a day at the beach, to retreat to their hotel, refresh, and then descend into a world of luxury and music without ever stepping off the premises.

However, if your package has you stationed more inland, fear not! Downtown Miami is alive with a range of nightclubs, bars, and live music venues. Whether you're into jazz, pop, or electronic dance music, there's a spot that will have you dancing the night away.

For those who have chosen package deals that come with a car rental, a drive down the iconic Ocean Drive in South Beach is a must. With neon lights illuminating the art deco architecture and the vibrant crowds flowing from one hotspot to another, it's a spectacle in itself.

Yet, Miami isn't just about the loud and the lively. Intimate speakeasies and wine bars can be found tucked away in various corners of Miami and Miami Beach. Some of these might be located within your hotel or close to where you stay, offering an ambient retreat from the high-energy scenes of the bigger clubs.

Whatever your nightlife preference, Miami and Miami Beach ensure that when the sun goes down, the city lights up. From pulsating dance floors to serene beachside lounges, the options are as vast as the ocean itself. So, as you review those vacation packages for your next trip, remember that in Miami, the night is always young, and the memories crafted after dusk are as golden as the Florida sunrise.

Everglades National Park Outside Miami

Everglades National Park, a sprawling expanse of natural wonder just a stone's throw from Miami, offers a unique wilderness experience. Recognized as a World Heritage Site, this vast wetland is a testament to nature's raw beauty and the diverse ecosystems it sustains.

The bustling cityscape gives way to a mosaic of marshes, mangroves, and slow-moving waters teeming with life. It's a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and those on Miami vacations seeking a break from the urban scene.

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club

With balmy temperatures year-round and a thriving Latin cultural scene, visiting Miami Beach almost feels like leaving the U.S. However, no passport is required to experience the city’s dazzling white sand, turquoise-blue waters, and colorful Art Deco architecture.

The seven-mile island along the Atlantic Coast has something for everyone, from the party-until-the-wee-hours-of-the-morning nightlife of South Beach to the more serene and family-oriented North Beach. Then, there’s the Goldilocks compromise of Mid-Beach right in between, with a laidback atmosphere by day and a livelier vibe by night.

With dozens of hotels to choose from — with many as eclectic as the city itself — this guide breaks down some of the best accommodations in Miami Beach. As a hotel aficionado and South Florida frequenter, here are some of my top choices, with help from T ravel + Leisure’s staff editors and readers, as well as top picks from our World's Best Awards winners.

Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club

Also available to book at Expedia.com and Hotels.com

Four Seasons at the Surf Club, at the northern end of the island, is a tranquil beachfront oasis in the otherwise busy commotion of Miami Beach.

It's one of the pricier options on our list.

This World’s Best Awards winner for five years running (taking home the number 1 spot in 2023) is among Miami Beach’s most luxurious and secluded properties. The hotel stands out not only for its decorated history among Hollywood’s elite, but also for its transformation into a welcoming destination for families, couples, and full-time residents.

The 77 guest rooms and suites offer floor-to-ceiling views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay, or the city alongside the contemporary style (and comfort) of French designer Joseph Dirand. Throughout the hotel's public spaces, from the stunning Champagne Bar to a library's worth of coffee table books, guests are encouraged to relax for a while and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. With “Serenity Lawns” and beachfront gardens perfect for a sunrise stroll, we like how Four Seasons at the Surf Club never feels overcrowded.

The Details:

  • Distance from Airport: 15.6 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, free

The Setai, Miami Beach

Also available to book at Hotels.com and Expedia.com

We’re into The Setai’s minimalist aesthetic, with Asian-style decor and Art Deco accents; it’s an ideal South Beach address for those looking for privacy.

This is the place to stay if you’re seeking deep tranquility with the buzzy vibe of South Beach outside your door; just know that it’ll come with a higher price tag.

As an all-suite enclave with 151 keys across 40 floors, The Setai somehow feels like a true hideaway in one of the busiest parts of Miami Beach. A two-story, zen-inspired lobby welcomes guests into this World’s Best Awards winner, where Beyoncé and Madonna have also happened to vacation. Polished attendants ensure guests have everything they need for a day of relaxation across three pools — one cold, one warm, one hot — and a gorgeous stretch of private beach.

If catching up on sleep is on the agenda in between partying, this is the place to do it. King-size beds are dressed in Frette linens with handmade Swedish Duxiana mattresses. Meanwhile, bathrooms have double vanities, soaking tubs, and rainfall showers, plus bath amenities by Palm Angels. And we didn’t even mention the decadent Valmont Spa.

  • Distance from Airport: 11.9 miles from MIA
  • Parking Fee: $49 valet per night
  • Resort Fee: None
  • Starting From: $975 per night

Faena Hotel Miami Beach

Also available to book at Tripadvisor.com and Hotels.com

Whimsical decor and extravagant luxury provide guests with a certain “wow” factor that we think sets Faena apart from other Miami Beach hotels.

Faena is as much a luxury resort as it is a contemporary art exhibit – which is contrary to what you'll get with more traditional hotels.

Faena has that Hollywood movie set magic, and for good reason. "The Great Gatsby" director Baz Luhrmann and his wife, Oscar-winning designer Catherine Martin, helped shape the reimagination of the property several years ago. Yes, that’s a woolly mammoth skeleton decked out in 24-karat gold inside a temperature-controlled glass cage near the beach.

Thankfully, Art Deco style and bold Hollywood glamour coexist with genuinely luxurious digs and white-glove service. From bright turquoise velvet drapes to plush Deco area rugs, the 179 rooms and suites are every bit as opulent as the public spaces. Each floor has its own butler, too.

Our World’s Best Awards winner houses the Tierra Santa Healing House, Faena’s sprawling 22,000-square-foot spa. It features one of the largest hammams on the East Coast (and you can bet you’ll find us there). Indulge in one of the shaman-inspired treatments or body-healing rituals after a nosh at Los Fuegos, Argentine super-star chef Francis Mallmann’s open-fire BBQ restaurant.

  • Distance from Airport: 11.2 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $250 nonrefundable deposit per stay and $25 per night
  • Parking Fee: $60 valet per night
  • Resort Fee: $45 per night
  • Starting from: $500 per night

The Miami Beach EDITION

A minimalist but chic approach to design is the star of the beachfront Edition — but there are amenities galore here, too.

With an ice skating rink, nightclub, and five F&B establishments, this 322-room property is a self-contained destination in and of itself; smaller boutique lovers take note.

The Ian Schrager-designed hotel toes the line between mid-century decadence and restrained modernity with an expansive, all-white marble lobby and original mosaic columns. It’s all beautifully done in a stylish, minimalist way. Speaking of lobbies, the Edition has one of our favorite scents in any hotel, a Le Labo-customized fragrance that’s a signature offering.

Basement, a subterranean entertainment space, is one of the most talked about amenities, as is the bowling alley and ice skating rink. Of course, this Mid-Beach property is right on the ocean, too. If you never left the hotel, no one would blame you – we wouldn’t want to take off the fluffy hooded robes, either. Even better, this World’s Best- awarded hotel can be booked using Marriott points.

  • Distance from Airport: 11.3 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $300 fee (including $150 cleaning fee) per stay
  • Parking Fee: $45 valet per night
  • Starting From: $399 per night

1 Hotel South Beach

1 Hotel South Beach is an eco-friendly, luxury utopia with a private beach and a stellar location (and it’s even a solid option for families with a kids’ club).

With over 400 rooms and the amenities of a sprawling resort, 1 Hotel manages to be an effortlessly chic retreat — but there’s no hiding that it’s massive.

A World’s Best Awards winner, 1 Hotel South Beach doesn’t just say it is eco-conscious. This carbon-neutral property has a LEED Silver certification and interior elements made with reclaimed materials. (The house car is also an electric Audi).

Every one of the 425 rooms and suites features driftwood walls, hemp blend-filled mattresses, recycled pine headboards, and clothes hangers created from recycled paper. Say goodbye to expensive bottled water, too, as every faucet in the hotel has Triple Clear Water filters – drink from the tap to your heart’s delight.

The 1 Beach Club deserves a call out for its design, bringing a sense of island paradise to the heart of Miami Beach. It’s a certifiable oasis with palm trees swaying in the breeze and birds chirping amongst the foliage. If that wasn’t enough, we’re very into the pool deck and bar located 18 stories up above the water.

  • Distance from Airport: 11.7 miles from MIA
  • Parking Fee: $58 valet per night
  • Resort Fee: $55 per night
  • Starting From: $449 per night

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach

We think the recent $90 million renovation breathes new life into the Ritz, cementing its status as a classic oceanfront luxury hotel in the heart of South Beach.

The 376-room property is right on the corner of Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue, so it's embedded in the (sometimes touristy) South Beach scene.

While fully outfitted with modern amenities, The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach embodies mid-century modern glamour as a 1953 original design by Morris Lapidus. Architecture enthusiasts may even notice the nod to an ocean liner, with curved lines and balconies similar to that of a ship’s deck. The expansive pool area, in a unique cross shape, offers plenty of loungers and umbrellas, plus some seating alcoves with chairs. We’re also big fans of the sturdy wood seats with thick padding (any high-end hotel that doesn't have plush cushions on top of its loungers just doesn’t cut it). With a Ritz Kids Club, spacious rooms, and ample facilities, this is also a family-friendly resort.

  • Distance from Airport: 12 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $150 per stay
  • Starting From: $599 per night

Soho Beach House

Soho Beach House Miami

As one of the more boutique-y properties on this list, Soho Beach House has all the exclusive Miami Beach amenities (rooftop pool, library, and spa, just to name a few) one could want, with an intimate footprint of fewer than 50 rooms.

Non-Soho House members must sign up for Soho Friends , a $130 annual membership that gets you into Soho House accommodations around the world, among other perks.

While Soho is known for its whole "private membership" charade, guests at this Mid-Beach property have access to all the amenities — without a full-fledged membership. The Beach House features a 100-foot private pool with loungers (along with a second pool on the roof), and a private beach with beds that come with fully-stocked coolers of Evian, coconut water, and fruit. Even better, we love that it’s all complimentary for guests.

Inside, with a shabby-chic design, expect a refined yet charmingly jumbled aesthetic. There’s a library, screening room, and Soho’s famous Cowshed Spa, with a salon that harkens back to the days of old-school barbershops. The courtyard Italian restaurant Cecconi's serves world-class Venetian cuisine.

  • Distance from Airport: 10.9 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Service animals only
  • Resort Fee: None, but non-Soho House members are charged an additional $130 per stay (Soho Friends membership valid for one year)
  • Starting From: $450 per night

The Betsy Hotel

Also available to book at Hotels.com and Tripadvisor.com

We like the unique architecture and history of this boutique hotel, merging two iconic properties right in the heart of South Beach.

If you want to be within a stone’s throw distance of the bars, restaurants, and shops in the Art Deco District, this is the place to be. That said, Ocean Drive can get particularly touristy.

The Betsy is tailored to a more grown-up crowd even though its Ocean Drive address might say otherwise. There are books everywhere here, from the dedicated hotel library to a personal collection in each room. Jazz evenings and literary events take place throughout the year. There is a lot of history at The Betsy, too, which opened in 2009 after a multimillion-dollar restoration of the property developed by architect L. Murray Dixon. In 2016, the hotel combined with the storied Carlton Hotel to become one larger (but still not too big) property.

Best of all, the hotel is a couple of blocks removed from the raucousness and beating pulse of South Beach, yet offers the same excellent beachfront views and all the interesting people watching you can handle.

  • Distance from Airport: 11.4 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $150 fee per stay
  • Resort Fee: $40 per night
  • Starting From: $349 per night

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort

Also available to book at Expedia.com

Far from the action up north in Bal Harbour, The St. Regis is about sophisticated luxury with an air of privacy and exclusivity; a 30-minute drive gets you into the commotion.

It’s a little sleepy this far north in Miami Beach, so just expect that you’ll be trading in late-night outings for Louis Vuitton boutiques.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, near North Beach's dual Bay Harbor Islands, is a peaceful enclave that offers what travelers have come to expect from the brand — an eye toward attentive service (there aren’t many other properties that give you a dedicated butler no matter which room you book).

We like how the 216 rooms and suites evoke a sense of calm with neutral tones and textures. Balconies use glass partitions so as not to obstruct any views, and even base-level rooms are larger here than at some competing luxury hotels; a deluxe room with one king bed is 650 square feet. Guests can relax beside two pools — an adults-only "tranquility" pool, and one for families — as well as on the 1,000-foot white-sand beach.

  • Distance from Airport: 15.7 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $100 fee per stay and $20 per night
  • Starting From: $589 per night

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

With the largest spa in South Florida and fitness classes galore, this all-suite property knows how to do wellness right.

If you’re looking to go off-property, Carillon’s residential location isn’t the most interesting; Uber a few minutes down to the action in South Beach or north to the upscale enclaves of Surfside or Bal Harbour.

Carillon is an all-suite beachside retreat in the northern section of Miami Beach. It’s among the best for all things wellness , with dozens of workout classes, an impressive two-story rock climbing wall, and even a dedicated wellness concierge. We appreciate how the hotel’s wellness program is actually led by a medical doctor, combining Eastern and Western practices for holistic health. Clearly, if you’re looking to detox and truly unwind — and perhaps ignore the rest of the Miami Beach scene — this is the place to do it. Families will also love all the space that the accommodations provide; each one- or two-bedroom suite includes a separate bedroom and living space, including a full kitchen. It feels more like a high-end Miami Beach condo than a Miami Beach hotel.

  • Distance from Airport: 13.4 miles from MIA
  • Pet Policy: Pets allowed, $250 fee per stay
  • Parking Fee: $40 valet per night
  • Starting From: $495 per night

Know Before You Go

No need to rent a car.

If you plan to stay in Miami Beach for the duration of your trip, a car isn’t really necessary. (Also, parking at any of these properties doesn’t come cheap). It’s easy to grab an Uber from Miami International Airport with the ride taking between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic. Ride-hailing is also readily available once you’re on the island. There’s even a free trolley that makes occasional stops along Miami Beach.

It can get expensive during peak season

Miami Beach is known to get pricey during certain winter weeks, with events such as Art Basel bringing international crowds — causing hotel rates to soar. In addition, it may be wise to avoid peak periods around college spring break in March and April.

Don't be afraid to explore beyond the touristy sites

Ocean Drive is great for its beaches , sights, and people watching, but it’s probably best to eat and drink elsewhere. The popular strip’s dining establishments (especially in the South Beach area) tend to be high on price and low on quality.

How We Chose These Hotels

These Miami Beach hotels were selected taking into account both reader and editor favorites, Travel + Leisure World’s Best award winners (see the 2023 winners here), as well as writer Chris Dong's personal experience visiting Miami Beach (as a former snowbirding New Yorker) on numerous occasions over the past ten years.

And, as always, the hotels selected for all of our roundups adhere to our core T+L Hotel Values to ensure we are offering readers with the highest-quality recommendations possible.

13 best weekend trips from Miami when it's time to escape the city

The top weekend getaways from Miami include a Georgia jaunt, a couple of excursions to the Bahamas and oh-so-much more.

Anna Rahmanan

Miami can be a lot to handle year-round—like, a lot. Sadly, there’s not always the time or, frankly, the money to truly get away on a weeks-long cross-country trip or lavish itinerary abroad. But the cultural, culinary and geographical sights you'll find on our list of amazing weekend trips from Miami might just do the trick. In Cocoa Beach, you'll revel in the magic that is bird watching at the local maritime forest, for example. The eclectic St. Petersburg delivers a top art attraction, the Salvador Dalí Museum, and a ton of fishing and boating activities. And for lovers of beauty in nature, the Bahamas aren't too far away. After all, as amazing as Miami is, there are just so many days we can spend at the best beaches , hiking spots and parks in town.

Weekend trips from Miami

Bimini, Bahamas

1.  Bimini, Bahamas

This cluster of islands comprises the closest point in the Bahamas to the mainland United States. If that cool factoid doesn't convince you to visit, this might: The trip from Miami to Bimini is about 50 miles and will take you around two hours by boat. You can even go for the day, if you really don't want to spend an entire weekend booking excursions to see dolphins and sharks, playing water sports, going hiking or biking amid indigenous animals and plants. Don't forget to visit one of the most popular snorkeling destinations on the island: the SS Sapona shipwreck, a former cargo steamer that didn't survive a 1926 hurricane.

Key West, Florida

2.  Key West, Florida

Replete with historic nooks, fresh seafood and perfect sunset perches, Key West is a no-brainer choice for a quick Miami getaway. While away days sipping tropical cocktails and noshing on conch fritters in between checking out gems like the Hemingway Home and Museum and taking in live music on Duval Street . Cap everything off with dinner on the water at longtime locals’ gem  Louie’s Backyard .

Cocoa Beach, Florida

3.  Cocoa Beach, Florida

If you're looking for a weekend of all genres, Cocoa Beach is for you. There are plenty of eateries and shops to visit, but bird lovers will find happiness around the birdlife that calls the maritime forest at Lori Wilson Park home. There's more: a true surf town, the city takes pride in the local Florida Surf Museum, which traces the history of the sport on both a regional and national level. Finally, space aficionados are likely aware that the city functions as a gateway to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where you can gaze at amazing rockets and much more.

Sarasota, Florida

4.  Sarasota, Florida

Top sights in Sarasota—a three-and-a-half hour drive from Miami—include the John and Mable Ringing Museum of Art (now the official state art museum for Florida), the Jungle Gardens, home to bird and animal shows, and the 15-acre Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Beach lovers, worry not: the famous Siesta Key Beach, made of 99% quartz, is right around here, as is the always beautiful Lido Key Beach.

Havana, Cuba

5.  Havana, Cuba

Do you really need a reason to go to Cuba? How do endless amounts of delicious local rum (on the cheap) sound? If that's not your thing, you'll revel in beautiful architecture with a side of history, plus exciting food and walkable attractions. Sure, there are no truly accessible beaches in town, but who needs those when you're just an hour away from Miami by plane? (Visiting as a tourist is currently banned, but educational travel has been reinstated. Make sure you do your research before booking.)

Mount Dora, Florida

6.  Mount Dora, Florida

Antiquity is the name of the game at Mount Dora: at the Museum of Speed, check out a stunning replica of a 1940s gas station or peruse through historical artifacts at the Mounta Dora History Museum, which is housed in a fire station that dates back to 1923. The soothing local lake, annual festivals and the antique shops that line the town's streets make the four-hour drive from Miami worth it.

Nassau, Bahamas

7.  Nassau, Bahamas

Board a flight from Miami and land in the beautiful capital of the Bahamas only an hour later. What to do while in town? After spending your days at the beach, admiring coral reefs and snorkeling, go walk around and notice the super photogenic, pastel-colored British colonial buildings that pepper the city. Make sure to include the Government House in your walking tour. The official residence of the Governor of the Bahamas, the ten-acre estate is also defined by the statue of Christopher Columbus up front, which was added to the property during a round of renovations in 1830.

Delray Beach, Florida

8.  Delray Beach, Florida

This small city less than an hour away from Miami is mostly known for its dedication to art, as seen through the public art and galleries that make the Pineapple Grove Arts District so unique. But, we promise, there's more: at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, you can partake in exciting tea ceremonies and calligraphy workshops; at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, you'll walk on the raised boardwalk to look at the turtles and alligators down below; and, if it's only water that is on your mind, book a trip with one of the many available cruise companies.

Islamorada, Florida Keys

9.  Islamorada, Florida Keys

If you're escaping Miami to delve into more water-based activities, consider taking a one-and-half-hour drive to Islamorada. Here, visit the Theater of the Sea, a marine mammal park where you get to swim with sharks, sea lions, dolphins and more. You might also want to buy some bait and go feed the tarpon from the dock at Robbie's Marina but if it's a bit of history that you're craving, take a short canoe or kayak trip to the 11-acre Indian Key Historic State Park to gaze in wonder at the remains of a shipwreck salvage community from the 1830s.

St. Petersburg, Florida

10.  St. Petersburg, Florida

Golfing! Fishing! Beaches! Boating! There is oh-so-much-to-do in this beautiful Gulf coast city four hours away from Miami. If there is one thing that all visitors are keen to explore, it's the Dalí. Not only is it home to the largest collection of the artist Salvador Dalí's work outside of Europe, but the building itself is a piece of architectural art. Also make sure to visit the visually stunning Chihuly Collection, a museum filled with glass sculptures, the historical Sunken Gardens and the often-discussed Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge (well, you can't actually visit the bridge, but it's certainly something to experience via car).

Naples, Florida

11.  Naples, Florida

Miami residents can drive across Florida to Naples in a relatively short two hours. How convenient. Here are a few reasons to head here for the weekend: fishing off the historic Naples Pier (only partially open since being damaged by Hurricane Ian), the white-sand Naples Beach, the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens and 5th Avenue South, the street from downtown to the beach that will tickle all of your dining and shopping-related senses.

Tampa, Florida

12.  Tampa, Florida

There’s no culture shock or sudden change of weather to get used to when visiting this central Florida destination. With a thriving Latin population (Tampa is home to the original Cuban sandwich, after all), a balmy year-round climate and a buzzy nightlife scene to rival South Beach, Tampa is the city for Miamians who want to get away but don’t care to stray too far from the comforts of home. Spend some time learning about the area’s storied past either on a walking tour through Ybor City or by paying a visit to the Tampa Bay History Center, which you can access via streetcar for a bonus dose of antiquity.

Savannah, Georgia

13.  Savannah, Georgia

A seven-hour drive or 1.5-hour flight up Florida’s east coast will get you to the magical Southern city of Savannah, Georgia. Home to a buzzing art scene along with cobblestoned squares, Spanish moss-covered oaks and Gothic-Revival architecture, this coastal destination offers a welcomed change of pace. The Perry Lane Hotel strikes a dreamy blend of old and new. Book a ghost tour and peruse the centuries-old City Market for local eateries and trinkets to take home.

Top 5 airlines flying to miami.

Bathroom broke, had to rush to board because of late exit of previous flight

Boarding super slow with people allowed to linger in aisles

There were choices for the snacks. Good choices and tasty lunch and breakfast as well.

First time travel in economy and the worst experience I ever had ! Shame on paying 600 dollars to be in a tuna can ! Service was terrible no even water no even class no even matters your flight attendants were lazy and sloppy very bad experience! After all these years traveling in first and once I try this cause I need to go to a destination for an emergency wow shame on you !

Everything was smooth and easy to fly. No complains and a lot of thanks!

More space in the cabin. The guy in front of me leaned his seat back and I felt he was sitting in my lap.

We checked one bag. That was fast and the agent was fast and super nice. At the gate, boarding was fast and efficient. Flight was uneventful which was great because it was early in the morning and most folks were sleeping. Landing was great. Delta does a really good job of making the flying experience better all around considering you are sitting in such a small space on a plane for several hours. Flight from ALT to Panama City was short and uneventful as well. No entertainment but no need since it was such a short flight.

The announcements about boarding were unclear and har.d to understand I almost missed the flight even though I wa in the boarding area. .

Pricing of seats is difficult - price transparency has disappeared. First class, business class. Comfort plus, economy, basic…. Especially the pricing of seat reservation. Used to be but early get a better price; now it seems prices are falling as we get closer to departure. Miles ticket value has gone away. Give me a break. Everybody is playing the game of upselling and delivering lower service. When demand drops, so will the game of price gouging, but we’ll see.

The Delta flight was delayed for maintenance issue. The crew is also delayed and I’ve been there at the same time as I was so it was really outside the hands of crew directly. However, where Delta failed was there was about eight other ways for me to get to my final destination and they did not offer changes beyond the initial one. The flight was delayed five hours when they had to change my connecting flight they had to downgrade my premium class for so far zero compensation and I’m still waiting on the results of a formal complaint. All in all this was the worst experience I’ve had with Delta in quite some time. Carrying the review for my first light over to this one, I was downgraded a class and because of my status I’ve only flown comfort plus or higher in some years I was unaware of things like drink vouchers, or anything like that, as far as I knew drinks were complimentary. The attendant was unnecessarily nasty towards me when I was just asking her to explain how it works and I showed her my first class ticket even though I was in the back of the plane and she was still equally unhelpful and frustrated. I’m not saying that the first class ticket should allow better treatment. I’m saying that I was showing that normally I would’ve had it for free beverage and so I didn’t know what she was talking about, she didn’t need to be so frustrated. Outside of that if the flight was 2 1/2 hours and the snack and beverage options did not become available until the final 30 minutes of the flight when we were on the descent, so any snacks and drinks were quickly rushed away. I do not know if this is common for what main cabin normally experiences but I hope it isn’t because that level of customer service and tending to the needs of the passengers is below what I would call essential.

Wheelchair assistance was not complete. The person left me at the departure gate without informing the groundstaff of my requirements. I had to walk to the departure counter to ask for help to reach the plane door. The crew informed me that in future they were not allowed to help passengers like me, senior citizen and Wheelchair passenger with placing their carry on bags in the overhead compartments!

Crew is way too many times on the intercom re explaining the same thing

Airline did not explain reasons why flight was delayed two hours. Explanations were badly needed and rarely provided. Problem seemed to clearly be the airline’s fault and not the fault of the weather or airport.

The seats were uncomfortable. The flight was almost 9 hours and they didn’t serve lunch

Very uncomfortable seats and seat backs, and I am only 5’9”. Delayed due to crew issues, spent a long time with no ventilation. Teeny overhead bins. Wifi worked well. Arrived safely.

Boarding was friendly and quick. While the plane model was older with no live tv, the entertainment was full of movies and tv shows. All food was available. Pilots were very communicative with status of the flight. Flight landed on time.

Amazing comfortable chairs great snacks super friendly staff pilots did excellent job. Smooth sailing all the way. Definitely be flying United more.

Easy boarding in group 2. Landed 1/2 hr early. Delicious cookie snack.

Good. The wife was not working but then it got resolved.

Good boarding. Crew started quick with drinks and food. They came around several times for trash which I really liked. Other than turbulence due to storms in the area, flight was great.

The male steward shoved me hard when i sleeping on the isle, woke me up the only way incan descripe it was Violently. I wanted to cause a scene but was able to putnmy anger innch check, i want complain to AA

Good over all but my flight from. Miami to Barbados the airplane was very dirty like I have never seen before. It looked like that plane hasn’t been cleaned in a long time and I fly about one time a month.

Everything was very good EXCEPT the food, on a five and a half hour trip. They only gave to us was snacks in first class. They didn't give us pillows or blankets.

Very disappointed with the crew and the lack of attention given to the passengers. On a 5 hour flight they never offered a snack. One time offered a beverage and didn’t pick up the used cups until the flight was on final approach. The two flight attendants in our section mentioned that they were best friends and compared their pre flight shoes. When paying for first/business class there is a level of service that should be expected. These two spent the majority of the flight in their seats playing on their phones and laughing with each other. Very frustrating!!!

Both flights were delayed. One by an hour and the other by 1 1/2 hours after boarding.

Mas información, nos quedamos parado en el avión media hora

On a 4.5 hour flight to Las Vegas there was no food/lunch provided only cookies and a drink. This airline is starting to look and act like Sprit/Frontier. Will start to look into other airlines to fly more comfortably

We paid for 1st class seats and they did not even recline enough to making sleeping possible on this red-eye flight. No coffee before landing either. Will not be flying American again.

Great flight, great service but most of all- our luggage made the trip with us.,

I left my wallet on flight 2225, no one has reached out to me yet, I field out the form online. Please give me a call Please.

The airlines delay the flight 1 day and we refuse to take that option instead we need to take a bus ride, now we are expecting for refund the money, it was a horrible experience.

Spirit cancels my flight and I have been stuck here at the airline since March 3rd 2pm and still here everything is close they didn’t accommodate me with a room or nothing they rebooked my flight for 7:25pm to New Orleans then from New Orleans to Fort Lauderdale I Wang Arrive Homw Until The 5th of March I am missing work I hav e kids to get home to and I am currently stuck with no food nowhere to stay no renter cause everything close I spent all my money and I’m very disappointed trying to get home I’m very very mad frustrated and very disappointed

It would have been no e to have the option of a mid day flight and not super early or super late in the day.

Flight was late taking off. I think the crew and pilots did a good job. It definitely worked for me. I would fly spirit again thank you.

Never made it to Atlanta due to the horrible policy of having to be at the gate 1 hour prior to departure. I was at the airport and the plane had not left Baltimore, but was not allowed to board.

Small water and small chips 10 dollars is insane. Pluse almost 200 for a carry on and luggage also crazy. Otherwise was on time that's good

Never got on the plane! My 2pm flight became 4am so I had to book southwest!

Well those seats! Man! On a short flight tolerable but too stiff and lack of cushioning make a longer flight uncomfortable. Good leg room tho, but I’m only 5’3”….

Spirit delayed the late flight then canceled it with no rebooking options given, leaving me stranded in a city at 9pm at night. I ended up renting a car and driving at night in the pouring rain so could make it to my destination.

Great flight on time and kept us informed about our flight situation!!

Flying frontier reminded me of flying with my family in the 80’s in all of the worst ways possible. From poor customer service to little to no technology. The plane was dirty old and also stuck in the 80’s. From their seatbelts to not having anywhere to charge our phones the seats and the equipment I wasn’t sure if I was being punked or thrown back in time. Needless to say I don’t see myself flying frontier ever again.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control. I wish there were a caffeine-fee, sugar free soda drink option besides water. There are multiple zero sugar caffeine free options.

Everything was on time and smoothly run. All employees appeared happy and enjoying their job. The delay in take-off was unrelated to anything in Frontier’s control.

I like that the flight was not overcrowded, and I felt had space to spread out a little more. The flight was smooth for the most part no major turbulence. The crew was pretty good accommodating and professional.. the fellow passengers were cool as well… all good! Snacks always makes things better, but of course there were no snacks.

Be prepared for crowds and chaos upon arrival at the Orlando airport

Frontier is a mess. Kept changing flights and times on me. Ridiculous. Charged us twice for annual Discout Den membership.

Frontier system that tracts what you’ve paid for is horrible. I brought bags, tried to upgrade the weight of bag. Did it via the text service on their site. Got to the airport and they had no idea what was going on. Ended up paying way more than I was supposed to

Great option to American Airlines. Affordable prices when compared to AA. Prices in AA to and from Puerto Rico are like Fly Emirates to Kwait.

5 MINTUES LATE TO THEIR CHECK IN AND THEY WACK ME 200.00 BUCKS FOR RE BOOKING FEE AND PUT ME ON ANOTHER FLIGHT. @ THE BOARDING GATE IWATCH THEM BOARD MY ORIGINAL FLIGHT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME- TOATL SCAM!

Flight was canceled both ways cost me a lot of time and money. Company takes advantage of people to make money, can’t call there is no phone number and in order to chat with an agent you have to know the secret way to get to a person rather than a robot. Never deal with them again.

Is it too late to book my spring break trip? 4 things to know about pricing, destinations

last minute trips to miami

With the holiday craze behind us but summer still feeling so far away, travelers have a glimmer of hope in the spring. Many are itching to get away during spring break.

This year, more spring breakers are looking for adventure, like scuba diving or hiking in places like Australia, Peru or Costa Rica, according to travel insurance platform Squaremouth’s recent press release.

Also influencing spring break travelers? Social media influencers and set-jetting –  visiting the locales of their favorite shows or movies – CEO of HotelPlanner Tim Hentschel told USA TODAY. Think Italy following the latest “White Lotus” season.

“The typical spring break has changed … now you’re seeing record demand for parks and destinations for giving back (with volunteer work),” Hentschel said. However, affordability and price are also top of mind for most Americans hoping to book a spring break trip this year, according to Hopper’s 2024 Spring Break Travel Outlook .

There’s some good news for travelers: prices won’t be too bad if you book strategically.

Here are four things you need to know about spring break travel for 2024:

1. Prices have plateaued

This year, spring breakers are in luck. Both domestic and international round-trip airfare are cheaper than last year, according to Hopper. Flights to Europe have gone down by 7% to an average of $640 and flights to Mexico and Central America dropped by 11% for an average of $447.

Although demand for spring break travel is up, prices won’t be too high as there’s enough supply to go around, Hentschel said.

“They’re not paying more than what they paid last year,” Hentschel said.

Where travelers will have to fork up is accommodations, especially during peak weekends. In the U.S., the average nightly hotel rate over spring break is $242. South of the border in Cancun, Mexico, hotel rates average $339 per night, and in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the average nightly rate is nearly $500. Across the pond in London, hotels are averaging $440 per night.

◾ Spring break hack: Start your weeklong vacation midweek instead of the weekend to save as much as $150 on a domestic roundtrip airfare, Hopper recommended. Trips that start or end on a Tuesday or Wednesday can be up to 38% cheaper than Saturday or Sunday travel.

2. Am I too late to book my spring break trip?

Whether domestic or international, airfare should be booked one to two months in advance for the best price.

When it comes to hotels, especially in coveted vacation destinations, “you get your best deals when you can book 30 days in advance,” Hentschel said.

Those who are more flexible on where they’re going can hold off a bit. According to Hopper, travelers who are basing their trip on price point rather than the hotel amenities or destination itself can wait between 10 and 14 days before check-in to get the best deals.

◾ Spring break travel hack: Purchase travel insurance within one to two weeks of making your initial trip payment for the best coverage. “Buying earlier opens up the door to time-sensitive travel insurance benefits,” said James Clark from Squaremouth. “It really maximizes the amount of benefits to you as well.” These often include the ability to cancel your trip for any reason or preexisting conditions waivers.

3. Most popular spring break destinations

According to Hopper, here are the most popular spring break destinations:

◾ Orlando, Florida: $205 average airfare, $175 average hotel rate

◾ Las Vegas: $295 average airfare, $178 average hotel rate

◾ Miami: $251 average airfare, $339 average hotel rate

◾ Fort Lauderdale, Florida: $216 average airfare, $288 average hotel rate

◾ Nashville, Tennessee: $186 average airfare, $257 average hotel rate

International:

◾ Cancun: $403 average airfare, $339 average hotel rate

◾ London - $643 average airfare, $440 average hotel rate

◾ Punta Cana: $466 average airfare, $477 average hotel rate

◾ Los Cabos, Mexico: $431 average airfare, $431 average hotel rate

◾ Tokyo - $1,368 average airfare, $351 average hotel rate

Cancun without the crowds: Meet Isla Mujeres, a quieter Mexican getaway

4. Cheap spring break destinations to consider

“I know everyone wants to go to Italy nowadays, but you can easily fit in multiple trips to these budget-friendly destinations for about the same cost that you can go to Europe,” Clark said. “I think people need to think about if they want to go on one big trip or multiple little trips.”

For some cheaper beach destinations, trade Cancun for Jamaica, and Puerto Rico for the Dominican Republic. Consider replacing Miami or Fort Lauderdale for Tampa.
