Florida Snorkeling Trips & Glass Bottom Boat Trips Daily!

Snorkeling with Sea Experience is fun, easy and safe. We run 2 snorkeling trips daily, 10:15 am and 2:15 pm. The 2 ½ hour trip starts with a narrated tour through Millionaire’s Row on the Intracoastal Waterway to Port Everglades and then heads out to the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida ocean waters.

The reef, named the Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges, is about ½ mile offshore between Las Olas Blvd. and Sunrise Blvd. This natural coral reef is from 12’ at the shallowest point to 20’ at the deepest and hosts a variety of colorful marine life. You will be absolutely amazed at the underwater world that lives right off our shores. We spend approximately an hour at the reef where you have the option of either snorkeling or staying dry and enjoying the view through one of two 3’ x 9’ glass bottom viewing wells on the boat. We will then cruise back along the beach as we head back to the dock where we conclude the snorkeling tour.

  • Prices for the snorkeling trip include all snorkeling equipment, including a snorkel vest and instruction on how to snorkel. View some beginner snorkeling tips here .
  • There is no minimum age to participate, but basic swimming skills are required.

Glass Bottom Boat

Nice boat ride but really just to snorkel. If you don't plan to snorkel don't choose this for the glass bottom experience. Captain and crew very nice

Jana, I'm sorry to see that you didn't have a greater time out on the water with us. While we love having the glass bottom boat as part of the adventure, it is true that the main focus is eventually on the snorkeling. Still, I always want you to feel that you're having a great time, and I hope we get the chance to see you again for the five-star adventure that I know we're capable of. -Bill, Owner

Despite the boat being full we were treated like we were the only ones on there. Great dives. We did a wreck and a drift dive. Good times and great memories made.

I am so flattered to know just how amazingly you were treated during your trip -- it really makes my day seeing that you were given such personal attention. Thank you so much for sharing your very kind words -- I hope we get the chance to have you back to make some more memories! -Bill, Owner

Keep in mind that I was here in September, so conditions may not be top notch, and underwater visibility may not be optimal. That being said, as a guy who hates huge crowds, I liked my snorkeling and checkout dive experience. The guys whom I went diving and snorkeling with, in addition to the instructions for my certification, also does a pretty good job of finding opportunity to show their patrons some cools things underwater. Snorkeling alone yielded a nurse shark! Thanks for the great experience! Actually fills up my time here in Florida when the mainland is suffering from torrential rainfall!

I'm thrilled to see that you had such a fun time with us, Ken. It's so great that you could enjoy some relaxing quiet time in the water with just you and a nurse shark! Knowing that the crew did such a good job taking care of you is awesome, and I sincerely hope that we get to have you back again some time. Thanks so much, Bill, Owner

Sea Experience is an exceptionally well run outfit! The crew is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and experienced. They were also quite fun! I did the snorkel excursion because sinus problems prevented me from SCUBA diving, but this was a blast. The boat is comfortable, and the glass bottom wells are interesting. The crew gave a nice explanation of the houses and boats as you make your way out of the waterways toward the ocean. There were lots of fish to see while snorkeling which is what really makes the experience.

glass bottom boat tour fort lauderdale

We're so happy to see what a great time you had out on the water! It really makes our day to know how highly you thought of the crew -- they really enjoy giving everyone an experience to remember. It's even great to see how much you enjoyed the ride out to the snorkeling spot! Thank you so much for sharing your story -- we can't wait to have you back! -Sea Experience

We took the snorkeling trip, was amazing. Brandon & the captain we're incredibly friendly and funny. We saw beautiful fishes and on our way back we even got to see dolphins. We will be returning customers!

Fabian, we're so thrilled to see what an awesome time you had! Knowing that you were treated so well by Brandon and the rest of the crew really makes our day, and it was great to hear about everything that you got to see during your adventure. We're honored to have earned your repeat business and can't wait to see you soon! -Sea Experience

My girlfriend and I went on a diving trip with sea experience yesterday and for the most part it was good. The weather was great, the ride out to the wreck and drift dives were great, even the staff was good. The only flaw is that the dive groups should be split into difficulty levels. Now we are both somewhat experienced and dive fairly often but the wreck dive they took us to quickly turned into an advanced dive for sure. The current was absolutely horrendous not to mention visibility was maybe 8ft!! When the dive master of our tour was done drawing the rope to the wreck, his exact words were "man that current is wicked strong" 8 out of the 16 diving couldn't complete the dive. We gripped onto the rope for dear life and pulled down about 12ft. The wreck was 80ft below. We turned around because the current was so ungodly strong. Instead of trying another dive site and letting everyone get in the water we sat there while the extremely advanced divers tried to weather the storm below for maybe 20 minutes... After everyone surfaced we went on a drift dive in a shallow reef which was super enjoyable. Moral of the story, when you pay to do two dives, you expect to be able to do two dives safely. They do not care if you can or can't dive it! That's my only complaint and I understand they can't control the weather but when almost the majority of the people who paid can't do the dive and the ones that did are happy to be back on the boat, we probably should have located for the amount of money we paid. Otherwise great time!

Karlee, it is true that certain factors, such as the current, are somewhat unpredictable. Unfortunately, this is why we've found that trying a back-up location isn't practical as it can be just as unpredictable in the next location. Having said that, we of course want you to feel that you've gotten the full experience, and I'm glad to see that the you were able to enjoy the next spot so much! I really hope that you get to come back and have a five-star time with us. All the best, Bill, Owner

We thoroughly enjoyed Captain Lindsey. If you can’t hear or understand her, then frankly, you may want to invest in a hearing aid. No loud obnoxious microphone needed, just well thought out historical information regarding Fort Lauderdale, with some funny jokes thrown in for good measure.

Just what we were looking for We have been coming to Ft Lauderdale for decades and have been looking for a sunset cruise to view the magnificent waterways, yachts and homes. We took the 1 1/2 hour cruise. I was impressed with the design and quietness of the battery powered boat. The price was reasonable. Captain Rocco was one of those people who loves their job. He even dropped us off at the 15 Street Fisheries where we had a memorable dinner. A most excellent evening !

Family and pet friendly tour We had a great time on our tour! We opted for a bottle of wine on board and that was really nice to have. Our captain was great at sharing so much information with us about what we were passing by and made a couple of special turns to show us things that interested us specifically. Our dog enjoyed the tour and well and even got a treat! It was a fun, relaxing and adventurous time on the water! Thank you Intimate waterways.

BEST Boat Ride in FL Area

My girl and I booked this boat ride when we went on vacation in the FL area on Aug 19 around 7 pm, wanted to see the sunset. This was the best boat ride we have ever had. Our captain was “Christina”, she shared the town history and showed us all the multi-million dollar homes! Such a fun, safe, relaxing environment, a great way to spend the day! Thank you! We had blast and she also stopped at a nice view to take pictures. Definitely would recommend it!

You Don’t want to miss this!!

Took the family for a night time tour. It was relaxing. Captain Rocco was not only full of knowledge but just a GREAT GUY!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the booking all the way through the actual tour.

Great experience!! Its a don’t miss it event!!

Book it, you won’t be disappointed

Our group was looking for something Fun to do and we are so happy we chose the 3 hour Sunset Cruise. It was so relaxing and calming. Captain Christina, went out of her way to make us comfortable and helped us enjoy every moment. She was very informative and answered all the questions we had. It’s pretty amazing that I have lived here for almost 40 years and have missed the beauty that’s in our own backyard! Beautiful and Peaceful!

FUN EVENING ON THE WATER!

This was so much fun! They provide everything you need to have a great time. I went solo and have kayaked many times before. The catfish you feed are everywhere and there is a ton of other wildlife to enjoy along the way to the bridge. There is a phone number you call in to, to be able to hear the guide talk the entire time. I brought my headphones to listen. Its kayaking and you will get wet.

The experience was great! Absolutely 10/10. The guides were fun and had some great commentary and knowledge on the area and sea life. The water was calm and not being in the sun was a big plus for me. Getting to see through the kayak is so fun we got to see so much! If family comes out here again I’d definitely go again! If you’re thinking about booking this let this be the review that tells you DO IT! You won’t regret it. I made memories I’ll carry forever.

This was the best part of our trip! So much fun! Call ahead for reservations, well in advance. We had 5 nights on our trip and I called as soon as we arrived in St. Pete, and they only had an opening on our last night. I was worried since we had little to none kayak experience, but we did fine. The tour guide was excellent. We mainly saw catfish, but we found a few different types of crabs and the tour guide pulled them out for anyone who wanted to hold. Weather was perfect! We highly recommend. It is a must do!

Fun Date! The weather was perfect. The water was very calm and it was a peaceful evening on the water with no mosquitos either. You go slowly enough that you do not need to be in shape to paddle. The people helping you in the kayak are patient and kind and keep you dry. It was so fun to feed the fish and actually touch them when they came to the surface. The bottoms of the boat are not glass, but plastic. You mostly see the fish beside your boat, not underneath, but it was a worthwhile, laid back tour all ages would enjoy!

Compliance status

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation.

  • Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website. These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
  • Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
  • Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Best Time to Go on a Road Trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West

First, let me go ahead and say there is no bad time to go on a road trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West.

The Florida Keys have a tropical climate , so the weather is generally warm and sunny throughout the year. The peak tourist season runs from December to April when temperatures are pleasant and rainfall is minimal. However, this is also when the area is most crowded, and accommodations may be more expensive.

If you prefer fewer crowds , you might consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) or fall (September to November), when the weather is still enjoyable, and there are fewer tourists.

Also, you might want to consider the activities you want to enjoy on your trip. If you’re interested in water sports and outdoor activities, the warmer months of spring and summer might be ideal.

However, if you plan to spend more time exploring the historic sites and cultural attractions in Key West, the cooler months of fall and winter can provide a more comfortable experience.
