Snoop Dogg has announced the rescheduled 2023 dates for his ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ UK and Ireland tour. The hip-hop icon will kick off the arena jaunt at Belfast’s SSE Arena on March 14, followed by dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Leeds, and Birmingham.

Snoop will be joined by his peers and collaborators Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12. Irish rap duo Versatile are also hitting the road with the icons of the West Coast scene.

Meanwhile, Snoop and Dr. Dre have collaborated on a new album called “Missionary.” The hip-hop idols have teamed up on their first new music in three decades.

He spilled in October: “Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months.”

Asked about the sex position moniker, he replied: “The first album was ‘Doggystyle’…”

The album title confirmation comes after Eminem shared a snap in the studio with the pair in September and captioned it: “Just a few bros…hangin out.”

Snoop and Dre reunited earlier this year for an epic performance at the Super Bowl halftime show – along with Eminem , Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar . And following whispers that the pair were in the studio, Snoop told Entertainment Tonight : “We’re cooking up a little something. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again.

“It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

Snoop shot to fame in 1992 when he featured on Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover” and his solo LP The Chronic .

Earlier this year, Snoop bought Death Row Records, the label that launched his career. The rapper – whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr – acquired the company from MNRK Music Group for an undisclosed sum.

The 51-year-old megastar said in February: “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. “It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

Snoop Dogg’s UK and Ireland 2023 dates are:

March 14 – Belfast, SSE Arena March 15 – Manchester, AO Arena March 16 – Glasgow, SEC Hydro March 21 – London, O2 Arena March 26 – Dublin, 3Arena March 27 – Leeds, First Direct Arena.

Calvin Broadus was born on October 20th 1971, and started rapping when he was eleven years old. Ten years after that he took the stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg to begin recording, and in doing so, changed the face of Hip-Hop forever.

There are more than a few artists around that it’s basically impossible to say anything new about. They have been so scrutinised, so celebrated and so criticised that most of what one can say about them has already been said before. This is very much the case with Snoop Dogg, one of the cast iron legends of Hip-Hop and one of the key influences that make it what it is today, both as a cultural phenomenon, and as (arguably) the dominant force of pop music in the world.

After his rapping caught the attention of Hip-Hop godhead Dr. Dre, the legendary producer gave the up and coming Snoop the exposure of a lifetime by featuring him heavily on his 1992 album “The Chronic”. The California, US native capitalised by releasing the following years “Doggystyle” and promptly became one of the world’s most successful, famous, controversial, and downright feared musicians overnight. Since then his image has softened slightly, he’s more likely to be seen in adverts for Hot Pockets than on trial for murder (as he was in 1996), but he’s diversified to a thrilling degree as a musician.

Not content with giving the world the best G-Funk it’s ever going to get with “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and “Gin and Juice”, he’s also given it some of its best straight up hip hop with the Pharrell Williams assisted “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and is still unafraid to tread his own path. His most recent reinvention, with a new name (Snoop Lion) and a new reggae sound on the album “Reincarnated”, sees him still going from strength to strength 22 years into his career. With a back catalogue like his, and a bright future to match, you can’t go wrong with the Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg.

Live reviews

I was pretty worried that the concert might've been uncomfortable, as I'm a teen that went with their parents. Also, my mom isn't good at keeping her calm in situations surrounded by high intensity and tons of weed (which I guarantee will be at any Snoop concert). But it was the opposite of awkward. It was really fucking fun and people of all ages and backgrounds were there. We sat in the mezzanine, and even that far away from the stage it was high energy and a great vibe. HYPE Everyone was feeling the music and yes, there was shitloads of marijuana, even in a fancy theater venue like the Paramount in Seattle. But it's not overwhelming at all, even if you don't smoke. No one's aggressive or anything of the sort or passing judgement. Everybody's there to flip out over Snoop Dogg, dance, sing their hearts out, and have a good time. Snoop was so charismatic, captivating, and comfortable onstage. He never missed a beat or messed up his lyrics and put on a great show. I lost all inhibition dancing, and I'm usually self-conscious and anxious. Tons of fun. There were about five different groups opening, which lasted around three and a half hours (Puff Puff Pass Tour Part 2). Snoop was up there for about an hour and a half. He finished with Young, Wild & Free and spoke about all the hatred in the world in its current situation and how his tour was all about empathy, peace, and love and to stay strong. It was honestly beautiful. The show closed with Bob Marley's jamming. My clothes and hair still smelled like weed the day after. Definitely a must-see.

Thought the show was very entertaining! Snoop's got a great legacy and his story is definitely worthy of a play (and a movie as well, which we know will happen). Tamar Braxton was perfect as the Angel and WOW was really impressed with La Toya London's performance! Thought physically Lil JJ was too short to play Snoop but he very much acted the part and won me over. Oh and the visuals and sound effects were great too. Every time I heard gunshots I actually turned to make sure it wasn't real. LOL!!! So my only critique was it ran a little long, thought his story could have been told in less time. Other than that great job by everyone, cast, crew, the band.

Oh and forgot how much I despise the seating arrangement at Microsoft Theater. Rows are too long so if you're seated in middle seats you have to scoot by at least 10-14 people to get to your seat, annoying! Also people actually brought infants and small children. This is not a good place to bring children. Hire a babysitter! This along with the high ticket price, convenience charge, taxes and parking fees are probably why I will consider not going here again.

Okay, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? Maybe my grandma, but otherwise, I can't think of anyone!

So, when I had the opportunity of a lifetime to see Snoop Dogg (and others) live I was more than thrilled. I was excited as I have ever been in my entire life. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. Snoop Dogg is a legend in the rap world and he did nothing less than live up to that legacy during this show at Coachella.

He kept the audience involved in the show the entire time. There was not one dull moment, it was probably one of the best nights of my life. At one time, I swear he even looked right at me and pointed and winked at me. I almost died! I was so excited.

His music is well, Snoop Dogg's music and if you like it you love it. I enjoyed all the old school music that he played as well as some of the newer songs he has.

His performance was great. He had me smiling the entire time, I seriously couldn't believe I was seeing Snoop Dogg. Like, it was him, right there in front of me. I will never forget that night. One of the best ever!

Last night's snoop show was a blast !! We puffed puffed passed till we couldn't anymore cuz the show ended but The smooth dark chocolate rapper has done it again in Colorado showing us that his vital stamina and pure heart and soulkeeps him ahead of the pack !! Well since it was spoiled rasta Rosa's 4 th Snoopsy concert in 2016 I'll rate it #2 after the 420 concert with wiz @ Fiddlers Green in April I loved the old school feel with Bone Thigs and harmony it was like my cherry got poped again 18 years later took me right back to the Glorydays !!! Lol I love you Snoop I am your biggest Fan from Colorado. It's funny Snoop was talking about bucket lists last night and go sure smoking with the Dogg face to face blowing o's in each other's face is definitely on my bucket list ! Bring The wifey and Martha we will all get down ! Thank you Snoop for listening to yourself to be who you are you inspire the best of us !!!

Well, it was great to see him do so many hits, (and I actually really admired the athleticism of the 2 pole dancers on the stage). However, it really felt like he was phoning it in. The show was 1 long medley. I don't think he performed 1 song from beginning to end, and there was definitely a lack of energy on the stage. But, ya know what? My friend and I agreed; if anyone has earned the right to do that, it's him at this point in his career. Now, if I had paid $150 or $300 I would've been pissed and felt ripped off. But the for the $60 I paid, it was fine. We enjoyed the show, and I always enjoy going to the Concord in Chicago - it's a great venue: best acoustics anywhere, plenty of elbow room even for sold out shows, and plenty of bars with little or no waiting.

tdub100’s profile image

The overall show was 5.5 hours so it was good value from that perspective. Kudos to the long line-up. I've seen Snoop perform about 10 times. The good thing is that his overall stage presence was fairly long and he touched on many songs, albums and artists and he made a decent effort. The bad part is that he shortens all the songs by about half, to ensure he can cover more songs (which I think is fine), but also speeds the bpm of songs which makes them a bit disorienting to those that know the songs and lyrics. I didn't love the dancing girls personally but that is a matter of taste. Wow, since he stopped wearing Adidas, his wardrobe style ranking has sure dropped a quite a few levels! ; )

The concert all the way around was so LIT

I have been to many concerts and I would have to say by far the best concert I have ever witnessed in my life. I can’t even say who was better Bone Thugz, Warren G and Snoop where all amazing !!! I am so happy that I was able to witness this concert and the storm going down in the back round just made the concert that much better !!

danielle-marie-63’s profile image

It sucked. Cypress hill was dope... if they promoted that snoop dogg and wiz were collaborating and performing together I would have never gone. It was garbage snoop should just stick to himself on stage and play his style of music. Don't waste your money on going. Unless u like that new style of "hip hop" than its perfect but if not than definitely don't waste your money

Snoop Dogg ‘s momentous year has recently hit a slight snag, as the rap legend announced the cancellation of multiple international tour dates due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts” related to “family obligations and upcoming [TV] and film projects.” Previously set to embark on a European run with stops in Great Britain, Finland, France, Germany, and Ireland beginning Aug. 26 and running through Sept. 19, Snoop will still make all of his stateside dates in the U.S. He’s also canceled the Australian leg of his I Wanna Thank Me Tour, which was scheduled for October and November after being initially slated for 2020 and ultimately postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Revealing the news in a post captioned “FROM THE DESK OF SNOOP DOGG,” on his social media account, the veteran performer shared his apologies for the cancellation but promised that he intends to make it up to his fans with rescheduled dates sometime in the future. He also said that all ticket-holders will be fully refunded for their purchases.

Snoop Dogg has been enjoying a very productive 2022, from becoming the new owner of Death Row Records to partnerships in the cryptocurrency world, where he’s become an early adopter of the metaverse as a Hip-Hop artist. He also recently revealed that he earns a quarter-million for a guest verse, a price tag that can go up to $500,000 if his appearance in a music video is requested. “You’ll get about 16 bars,” Snoop shared during a podcast appearance. “And when it’s time to do the video, I need to get another $250,000 up out of you. And you only got an hour so get to filming.”

Snoop Dogg Says That Epic Tour With Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar Is Coming Together

We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Last October , Snoop Dogg appeared on Dr. Dre ’s The Pharmacy to witness Dre drop a monumental announcement about a hypothetical European tour with himself, Snoop, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar .

Here’s what he said:

{ "id": 133280391 }

A few months later, Snoop called into DJ Whoo Kid ’s The Whoolywood Shuffle, where he gave listeners an update on the tour. Nothing is set in stone yet, but the wheels are in motion.

“We are trying to get it together,” Snoop says at the 3:20 mark. “Like Dre said, he wanted to be myself, him, Kendrick, Eminem. It’s a wishlist that could possibly become a reality if all parties agree to disagree.”

He adds, “I love to make it happen. I love everybody involved. I ain’t trying to take all the money. I just want what I’m worth and I’ma do what I do.”

A tour of this stature probably takes a lot to put together, but you know it’ll be special. Listen to the interview below.

Last month, during an interview with The Buzz , Snoop said he is working on a collaboration with BTS , sharing he has already recorded vocals for the forthcoming track.

"You gotta talk to them, but my parts are in," Snoop shared on the red carpet for American Song Contest , which he co-hosted with Kelly Clarkson .

Big Boi and Andre 3000 - Outkast

When you’ve worked with legends such as Jodeci, Ceelo Green, Faith Evans, and Outkast like Family Tree Entertainment founder Michael “Blue” Williams has, you’ve likely been part of moments that forever changed hip hop .

“[Lauryn Hill] only wanted to pay us $5,000 a show. The guys were making $20,000 a show. We fought, but I convinced them to do it,” Blue told REVOLT . “The guys cursed me out. But, when we came off the tour, we started getting $100,000 a show. After that, we never went under $100,000 a show again.”

In this installment of “Tour Tales,” the longtime manager discusses starting on the road with Jodeci in the ‘90s, why Outkast had to leave Eminem’s 2001 European tour early, and more. Read below!

Who was the first artist you went on the road with?

This year makes 30 years since I started on the road with Jodeci as a roadie fresh out of college. The job responsibilities were doing everything no one else wanted to do. I made the Waffle House runs. I did those kind of jobs.

What were those Jodeci shows like in the early ‘90s?

When Jodeci and Boyz II Men came out, New Edition was the only thing before them…The energy around Jodeci and Boyz II Men was crazy. DeVante [Swing] used to announce our hotel onstage every night. We’d have 3,000 girls in our lobby because DeVante would get on stage like, ‘So, who wants to party with Jodeci at the Hilton Hotel tonight?’ (Laughs) Every girl heard that and would show up at the hotel. It was an interesting time because I went to an HBCU — Central State University in Ohio — and I was surrounded by all of these Black women getting their education, so you get one impression of Black women. And then you go on tour, and you’re like, ‘Oh my God! It’s wild out here; anything goes (laughs).’

Jodeci was on MC Hammer’s “Too Legit To Quit Tour” with Boyz II Men. What do you remember about those performances?

A few things stand out: One, Hammer gave people the same energy every night, whether it was in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Los Angeles, Iowa or wherever. He never cheated anybody… I learned work ethic by watching Hammer. With Hammer, you toured six nights a week on a nine-month tour. That’s where you learn what being on a world tour is really like. Two, Boyz II Men’s manager [Roderick “Khalil” Roundtree] died on the tour when we were in Chicago [in May 1992]. They left the tour for a week or so to bury him and all. While they were gone, they recorded ‘End of the Road.’ Before they went on tour, it was Jodeci and Boyz II Men head-to-head every night. You had K-Ci and Jo Jo vocally battling Shawn [Stockman], Wanya [Morris], and Nate [Morris] every night. When Boyz II Men came back to the tour, they started performing ‘End of the Road’ at the end of their show in tribute to Khalil. You could see the elevation and separation. There was no question in the difference between Jodeci and them. When Boyz II Men started to perform ‘End of the Road’ every night, all those pop Hammer fans became Boyz II Men fans, killing it every night. You saw the impetus of everything that would become right there on that tour .

What Jodeci songs really brought the house down?

‘Forever My Lady’ and ‘Say’ are undisputed. ‘Come and Talk to Me’ was gigantic. The ‘Come and Talk to Me (Remix)’ was also one of those records live.

What was the camaraderie like backstage between Boyz II Men, Jodeci, and MC Hammer on that tour?

Boyz II Men were always good kids, so they’d do their show and go back to their rooms every night. I used to play a lot of pool with Mike [McCary] from Boyz II Men; that was his thing… Hammer’s team was about 100-120 people deep. There was a lot of camaraderie between his crew and ours. There were some legends of the road on that tour.

How was it working with Outkast in the mid-90s?

I started managing Outkast in 1995. The thing about touring with Outkast a lot of people discovered Outkast by the time we got into Stankonia and all of that. But, in the early years, we were out there with 69 Boyz. We were out there with Tag Team. We were out there with Quad City DJs. We were out there with UGK, and 8 Ball & MJG. We were out there on that southern grind. We also did the west coast. A lot of people don’t know that San Francisco and the Bay Area were one of Outkast’s biggest markets, especially on the first album. So, we were doing a lot of shows out there with The Luniz, Richie Rich, and E-40. Chicago was our second-biggest market. They laid the foundation doing those dates. We did shows where the local hustler booked you and is giving you the $25,000 on the backend in a bunch of brown bags. The meat of Outkast was the Jackson, Mississippi; Memphis, West Palm Beach; and Mobile, Alabama. By the time we got to the third album, we had started taking shots by going on tour with Lauryn [Hill] and Moby, and expanding into a pop and more diverse crowd.

Those Smokin’ Grooves shows in the late ‘90s had an unreal lineup. There was Outkast, Foxy Brown, The Roots, Lauryn Hill, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars, and so many other legends.

When you get on a tour with Lauryn, Erykah [Badu], and Cypress [Hill], you have a combination of legends, pop crossover stars like Lauryn, and everybody is up on stage given it. Until this day, all those people we were on that tour with, I still see them playing in people’s bands or the background singers are singing with John Mayer and Sting. These people have gone on to become the biggest and best in the touring game. Smokin’ Grooves was run very smoothly. Everybody kinda hung around and caught everybody’s show, except for Lauryn’s. Once you realized Lauryn would be three hours late, you just slide out (laughs). It was one of the most fun tours we’ve been on.

What were some things Outkast had to iron out to get better at?

When I first started working with them, the biggest thing for me was that they always wanted Goodie Mob and members of the Dungeon Family onstage with them. I had to peel back the extra people and have them come onstage when they needed to go onstage , and not be up there the whole time. I needed Dre and Big Boi to shine. I come from Flavor Unit. I’ve watched Naughty By Nature rip stages with just them onstage. It was important for me to have just Big and Dre onstage. When you bring people out, the crowd gets excited to see Goodie Mob as opposed to everyone standing on stage at the same time. That was part of their growth.

What has been your main talent on the road?

Making the road fun. I’m the guy who pulls the bus over at a Six Flags while we’re on the road. We were one of the early ones to put studios in the back of the bus. Jodeci had crates, so they could take up their own TVs to their rooms to play video games. I found ways to make the road more comfortable. From the touring standpoint , I always wanted to push the envelope and not be comfortable staying in our lane. I convinced artists to take a little less to grow. One of the toughest decisions was when Lauryn offered Outkast to open up on her tour with them. She only wanted to pay us $5,000 a show. The guys were making $20,000 a show. We fought, but I convinced them to do it. I think I got fired and re-hired every day on that tour. They were tearing the shows down every night. The crowd was going crazy. Lauryn had to wait to come onstage because it was so hot. The guys cursed me out. But, when we came off the tour , we started getting $100,000 a show. After that, we never went under $100,000 a show again. That was because we got in front of Lauryn’s 12 million fans, who were hip hop and pop fans, and they became Outkast fans. It looks genius now, but I was getting fired every night. I was switching buses like, ‘Big Boi mad at me. I’ll go ride on Dre’s bus (laughs).’

The “Stankonia Tour” was one of the biggest productions of a hip hop tour at that time. How did you translate the album into a tour?

They wanted to make the stage and experience feel visually how the album sounded. Dre wanted people to come and visually experience the same feelings you got when you listened to the album . It was about the texture of the lights, backdrops, and a lot of stuff. This was before we had LED boards. We achieved that feel. I’m actually glad that happen because we put Ludacris on his first national tour.

On Eminem’s All Access Europe DVD, he was hanging out with Outkast. What were those shows like?

We were supposed to do the entire European run with Em. Big Boi’s wife went into labor, and we had to leave because he wanted to get back for the birth of his son. We still missed it, and he was mad at me about that. Those seven dates we did with Em were still crazy. The venues Em was doing were huge, and the crowds were also Outkast fans. Germany and these other countries knew all the words. It was an amazing run. It actually led to the greatest tour that never happened. The greatest tour I ever tried to pull together was going to be called ‘The Greatest Show On Turf,’ and it’d have Outkast, Snoop Dogg, Eminem , and JAY-Z. We were going to do stadiums.

Wait, what?

This had to be around 2005/2006. It was going to be each of them representing their blocks, so to speak. The stage was going to be each person’s neighborhood or block. We were going to do two stages that rotated. One stage would be the south, and then it’d flip around to New York. The other stage would be Detroit with Em, and Snoop with the west coast . Everybody would’ve brought out people from their crews. We couldn’t pull it off.

Was everyone on board besides Andre 3000?

Michael

We know Andre 3000 moves how he wants to move. So, how did that affect touring?

Honestly, until Dre decided he didn’t want to do it anymore and his anxiety kicked in, Dre was a professional on tour . He was never a problem. But, when he started to get anxiety about being onstage and other things started affecting his wanting to go out, that’s when things changed… He used to forget the words because a lot of the stuff they performed he wrote when he was younger , but he was amazing.

You also worked with Nick Cannon on his “Wild N Out Tour.” How was it compared to putting together a traditional music tour?

The ‘Wild N Out Tour’ was fun because we weren’t tied to any one artist, and no one thought it would work. It was fun because no one thought we could do it. They would say, ‘You don’t have any stars. The brand by itself isn’t going to do it. Nick’s not going to fill up an arena.’ But, when Nick explained to me how he would make it feel like the ‘Wild N Out’ show, I just had to bring in the Rick Ross’, Yo Gottis, Jeezys, and all of them, and sprinkle in some performances just like the show does. It was fun because once we got it out and people saw it, the energy from the crowd was crazy. People said they did not know what to expect, but it was fun, just like the show. It really worked. Nick is a great host. It was so successful that MTV came and took it back from us and gave it to Live Nation (laughs).

You’re now taking your expertise to help R&B group Vanity Rose prepare for their upcoming tour. What have you been helping with?

I think Vanity Rose is next in line in the history of the SWVs and TLCs. There’s a long line of really dope female groups that give you the same energy and sex appeal onstage. For me, it’s been getting them to understand the work starts before the tour. It starts with getting them up, and running. and getting their wind right. They’re in rehearsals with Q from 112 because 112 always understood spacing, crowd participation, and everything. Q has been working with them to get them tight. I’m going out with them early on in the tour to teach them how to live on the road and take care of themselves. As easy as it is, that Waffle House at 2 a.m. isn’t good if you’re not getting the following day to work it out. That’s how you gain 15 pounds on the road. I’m going to have them film the show to show them how to review your show. We never had social media back in the day, so when artists go off the stage, they go straight to their phones. They start reading the comments, and it affects their mood.

What about Vanity Rose’s music will translate well to the live show?

The energy of the records they have. They can take any record and give that energy that’ll make every woman in the crowd feel like they’re just like them. But, they can also slow it down and do a song like ‘Anywhere,’ which will be a huge record.

What do you have coming for the rest of the year?

This is going to be a great year. We’re going to drop a Vanity Rose EP in the fall. I have my other client Yung Pooda, who is getting ready to drop his second project. We just dropped a single on him called ‘Drop.’ We’re going to be finding some touring opportunities for him . I’m planning on putting together an event called ‘Family Reunion.’ I’ve managed Outkast, Donell Jones, Eric Benet, Lyfe Jennings, Case, Jagged Edge, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, and so many more. So, ‘Family Reunion’ is me getting everyone together for a big show and doc about Family Tree and its last 30 years. We’re putting that together. I’m also going to put out a book on management. There hasn’t been a definitive book on hip hop management and the toll it takes on you.
