for anyone trying to get this to work on Windows (using Win10), I just extracted the files, followed the How to play documentation by downloading Virtual Clone Drive. After installing VCD (make sure you have .bin extension checked) I just double clicked on the .bin file, the file gets mounted and click Setup. Voila!

Finally got it running. The steps below are what I followed, but there's probably easier ways of doing this. Also, this does not work in VirtualBox because it limits you to how much GPU you can use, even if you tweak with the settings) 1. Install VMWare, and look up a guide for installing Windows XP using XP mode 2. Install VMWare Tools (this is usually included in most guides) 3. You need to extract the contents of the .bin file (I used Power ISO) 4. Since VMWare Tools are installed, you can drag the folder of what you extracted directly into the VM of Windows XP (put it in C:\Program Files) 5. Run the Setup directly from the folder, and this will install the game

Any advice getting this to run on windows 10? Running the launch and clicking on the install option freezes the launcher and checking the task manager shows that the installer freezes on launch

Carnival Cruise Line Tycoon 2005: Island Hopping is a 2004 cruise-line business simulation game inspired by Carnival Cruise Lines and developed for the computer platform by Artex Software. The primary objective of the game is to offer cruise line services to customers. The game itself offers what would be expected from a typical tycoon game. Users are in command of the ship and are responsible for the task of purchasing buildings and designing the layout. While gaining popularity, users also have an advantage to buy more ships and have a large fleet of ships going to exotic destinations. The game included Carnival logos and the entertainment and lounged available to add to the ships were named as per Carnival Cruise Lines standards. The ships that can be worked with in the game are: Sunshine (a cruiseferry only accessible as the first ship in the career mode), Carnival Celebration , Carnival Paradise , Carnival Legend , and the Carnival Conquest .

This game is So-So

This is one of those games that you should only really consider purchasing if you have 10 or 20 dollars and dont know to do with it. It has many ups and downs but not really worth over $10. If your paying over $10 then reconsider and look for a different game. their is many more good pc games out there that are way funner. So-So game and like i said, buy this game only if its really cheap.

An Excellent Game

I brought this game for my daughter who wanted it after we went on a cruise. She just enjoys plaing the game. Its Sims like video is great. I would recommend this for anyone who like the tycoon series PC games or if you just want to try something new.

Great game. Well worth the money. A classic not to be missed. Very addicting the graphics for the time is good, it is a older game but the mechanics are awesome

Has anyone seen this new computer game yet? I found and bought at Best Buy last night ($19.99), but haven't installed it yet.

That sounds like so much fun.... that I better not buy it. Everytime I try one of my daughter's new Sims games I get totally addicted for a few weeks - until I make myself quit cold turkey!

I tried the Cruise tycoon..where ya gotta build a ship and set it sail. After a few sailings where I killed all the people by starving them because I didnt get enough food onboard...it became an addiction...somewhat like a real cruise for me. (LOL) its fun

Sounds like a cruise ship version of SIMM CITY. I'll bet its a lot of fun .:D

My dh is into Cruise Tycoon right now. We got it to help bide the time and get the kids even more excited to take this trip.

Instead of starving them, just pick them up and throw them overboard.

NBN.. Let us know how you like this game. Have not heard back from you, so I am thinking that you are all into this game by now. I think I will order it also. It should be fun. Of the 4 ships, I have only been on the Paradise, but I am interested to see how this is set up.

I dying over here!! You guys HAD too tell me about this game right. Cruising two weeks from today on the Triumph sooooo after reading this about an hour ago, just go back from Best Buy and got the last one on the shelf. Damn, that's $20 less for the casino donation. Oh well. It'll keep me busy for awhile.LOL!!!! Gonna go load it now.

Picked up two copies today. One for me and one for my cruising buddy (we always buy each other a little "We're going on a cruise" present.) Somebody mispriced them at the store....got them for 9.99 each!! :D :D :D :D :D

Ordered mine from http://www.EBgames.com but if I could get to Best Buy, I would have gotten it there. I had to pay shipping.Came to 27$ & change.

Closed the deal on Ebay for $8.12 plus $ shipping - they guy mailed it yesterday priority shipping - should have it no later than Wednesday! Know what I'm doing toward the end of next week!

What a deal! Less than $9. There were 2 sets, correct? Maybe someone needs to jump on that one! I wish I had been able to get out to the stores. I would have at least missed having to pay shipping charges! Oh well...

Now that I have the game, have to figure it out. I have chosen the easier mode to figure out how to do the different stuff. My kids are excited about it because we are planning a trip for spring.

Dang it! I gave in, bought it, got it home and it won't work! There was a HUGE scratch across the CD and it won't install right. That's the good news! The bad news is Best Buy doesn't have anymore (I bought the last one). Best Buy must not have any confidence in the sales of this game - they only have ONE on order.

Wal-Mart has the game for $19.44 and had several copies.
