What will luxury RVs of the future look like? Turns out we don’t have to wait to find out, thanks to Marchi Mobile.

The Austrian brand’s ultra-luxe motorhome, the Elemment Palazzo Superior, looks like it teleported to earth from an underwater planet. With its  bonkers fishbowl-style cockpit, you’d forgiven for thinking it’s a submarine on wheels instead of an RV. But vehicle’s wild design is intended for extravagant road tripping and it extends from tip to tail, showcasing a laundry list of over-the-top features, including two separate stories and a pop-up rooftop nightclub.

Marchi calls the distinctive RV a “mansion mobile,” and it’s easy to see why. Its bold front end was inspired by the German designer Luigi Colani’s attempts to make semi-trucks more aerodynamic and safer during the 1970s. Fast forward 50 years and his ideas have instead been applied to this two-story mobile home. The cockpit comes equipped with a jet-like instrument panel and offers stunning side-to-side views of the road in front of you. Don’t worry about getting too much sun, either—the glass can be darkened using an adjustable sun protection system.

Marchi Mobile Elemment Palazzo Superior 

Even by RV standards, the Elemment Palazzo Superior is massive. The vehicle stretches 45 feet end to end and is eight feet wide, though a section of the interior can expand to 16 feet wall-to-wall. When fully expanded there is 732 square feet of interior space, or about as much as a one-bedroom condo in New York. Marchi has made good use of it, too. The standard features are all present and accounted for, like a fully stocked kitchen, an entertainment area with a 42-inch LED TV, a master bedroom with a king-sized bed made by the same company that supplied bedding for the royal family, according to the company. But there are also some extravagant features you don’t find on every RV, like a wine cabinet for the bar, adjustable sofas and a spa-style bathroom area with a glazed rainfall shower.

And like any great luxury space, it offers its own outdoor space. The motorhome’s prized feature is a walled-off deck area that can be raised out of its roof via an automatic lift system. The resulting Sky Lounge has its own sky canopy, furniture, heated floors and a Steinway & Lyngdorf audio system. In other words, it’s your own rooftop nightclub.

As you may have already guessed, the Elemment Palazzo Superior, which is powered by a brawny 600 hp Volvo six-cylinder engine, sits at the top of Marchi’s line of RVs. The company doesn’t list a price for the hulking motorhome—and didn’t respond to a request from Robb Report —but it’s been reported to carry a $3 million price tag.

On the outside, the luxury R looks like a cross between a truck from Mad Max: Fury Road and a spaceship from Star Wars .

In total, the Palazzo Superior measures 45 feet (or 13.7 meters) long and 13 feet (4 meters) tall.

The unique-looking cab was expertly constructed from carbon fiber materials and the body features a thick outer wall for stability and protection from the elements.

Connected to that area you’ll find a full kitchenette for preparing meals with of course everything you'd expect in a $3 million dollar luxury RV!

Step into the master bedroom and you’ll find a huge king-sized bed that just happens to be made by the same company that manufactures beds for the royal family. No big deal. 

The bedroom also comes with tons of storage, including a dresser and oh, right, another giant TV.

Of course there's also a toilet that uses something called the “Aqua Clean Hygiene Cleaning Program”, which I can only assume makes your bum as clean and soft as a newborn baby’s. 

You can also expect a little more room in this bathroom compared to most standard RV bathrooms! And why shouldn't you? You did of course just pay $3 million for it!

Manufactured by Marchi Mobile, this futuristic mobile home also features a unique round windshield design with an adjustable darkening system to protect you from glare and harsh sunlight.

Be sure to take the internal staircase up to the sky lounge for a little party after dinner!

The rooftop “Sky Lounge” uses an automatic lift function that creates a spacious deck at the press of a button. Just imagine sipping on a campsite cocktail and watching the sunset from the roof of this thing!

The edges of the skylounge even has a guard rail from preventing anyone from slipping and falling off the top of the RV.

Despite its many features and massive frame, the luxury RV can reach top speeds of over 90 miles per hour, thanks to its six-cylinder Volvo engine.

The only problem you'll have is selecting the right cocktail to sip! Perhaps you'll need to hire your own personal bartender...

EleMMent Palazzo Superior Review

Palazzo Superior’s construction and design draws inspiration from the world of yachts, supercars, limousines and helicopters. It can easily blend in at an airport runway or yacht marina. Its exterior lines resemble those of the most modern sports cars; its cockpit features MMI control that resembles a jet’s cockpit, but functions like a limousine’s; and its panoramic windshield resembles that of a helicopter’s. Manufactured with precision, the Palazzo makers use high performance carbon fiber materials to build its structure. The complex body construction features a 60mm-thick wall, which provides incredible stability and insulation.

Palazzo Superior’s main entry is cooler than the entry to a private jet. It features an exterior integrated stairwell that leads straight into the lounge. The rooftop, which doubles as a fancy sky lounge, can be accessed by an automatic retractable roof walkway. The automatic safety railing and automated lift system ensures that you walk in and out of your home as safely as possible. The automatic sun canopy is equipped with integrated lighting and audio.

Palazzo’s revolutionary cockpit features an aviation dashboard equipped with all the buttons and switches you need on hand. Its helicopter panoramic-glazing windows give you a wide view of the road, and their shade levels darken at the push of a button. The board clock is an original Askania onboard flight instrument, adding class to the already sophisticated cockpit. All of Palazzo’s multimedia technology can be operated by the onboard control system. The electric sliding door let’s you conveniently get in and out of the Palazzo Superior.

A passageway in the cockpit will lead you into the lounge. Modern and bright, the lounge will make you feel like royalty from the future. Just as you enter you’ll see a spacious closet, perfect for storing your shoes and jackets. The lounge is designed to help you unwind. Equipped with a bar, the Palazzo gives you ample space to stack your wine, liquor and beer. The bar area provides you with drink refrigeration, wine cabinetry and a coffee machine. To maximize your comfort, the four-meter wide automatic extendable sofa can be adjusted electrically, and the adjustable table can be doubled in height. To make sure you’re always entrained, the lounge has a 42” LED TV, a Steinway and Lyngdorf world-class audio system, and wireless.

Palazzo Superior’s kitchen will let your personal chef cook all the gourmet meals you dream of. Equipped with a large refrigerator, freezer and icemaker, you’ll have plenty of room to store fresh food and leftovers. The stovetop comes with a fume hood, and the sink is equipped with an electrically adjustable water control system. You can store your perishables in the storage cabinets.

The bright bathroom is actually a spa with a fancy toilet. The bathroom features a 16 sq. ft. rain shower with light therapy function and electronic water control. The large vanity is equipped with a mirror and shelves. The toilet has Aqua Clean Hygiene Cleaning.

The gorgeous Master Bedroom is for for a king. In fact, it features a king-size bed designed by the same manufacturer that provides beds for the British royal family. The difference between camping and “glamping” has been well-documented in recent years, especially with so many looking for a way to keep things as comfortable as possible when on the trails or the open road. In a successful attempt of adhering to the latter, Marchi Mobile has developed a kitted-out motorhome that you simply must see to believe.

The Austrian manufacturer’s EleMMent Palazzo Superior boasts amenities akin to those you may see at a five-star hotel, highlighted by a rooftop lounge equipped with a bar, heated floors, and a sound system courtesy of Steinway & Lyngdorf. Plus, for entertainment’s sake, it features a pair of 42″ LED televisions. Seeing as this literal truckload of features must take up a solid amount of room, the swanky, two-story RV boasts a whopping 732 square feet of space throughout its interior.

Moving on to its other amenities, the bathroom practically doubles as a spa, consisting of a serene glazed rainfall shower. Neighboring the spa is the master bedroom, which comes equipped with a king-sized bed supplied by the very same manufacturers who provide bedding for the British royal family. The EleMMent Palazzo Superior measures 45′ long, 8′ wide, and up to 20′ tall when accounting for its roof deck. For enhanced performance, it is powered by a Volvo inline-six- engine making, checks notes, up to 600hp .

Marchi Mobile’s eleMMent palazzo Superior drives away as a two-story-looking mansion on wheels with a fisheye windshield that offers panoramic views during driving and that can be darkened in two stages using an adjustable sun protection system. Dubbed the most luxurious in the series, the eleMMent palazzo Superior combines features from motor sports, aviation, and yachting in a single mobile home or camping vehicle .

In this model, the motorhome’s carbon fiber body and materials make it lightweight, and its sports car design lines and 36-inch rim covers tap into the styles of racing cars. Inside, the cockpit features central digital instrumentation, and the multimedia interface is inspired by jet cockpits. Marchi Mobile states that the eleMMent palazzo Superior is a self-supporting vehicle with 60+mm wall thickness to insulate the motorhome.

Marchi Mobile’s eleMMent palazzo Superior has a sky lounge at the back that offers panoramic views and comes with an automatic lift system that raises it up out of the motorhome’s body to create a walled-in roof deck. The design team also developed an air convection system for the interior temperature to prevent excess pressure when the motorhome slides out the full-wall room extensions. The driver and passengers can even set different temperatures depending on the room they are in.

Home away from home is at the heart of the interior’s design. Inside the two-story-looking mansion on wheels, an open kitchenette with a 4-meter couch within reach of a bar, a wine cabinet, an icemaker, and a large TV screen greet the driver and passengers. The master bedroom and living area are divided, and both can be used to access the bathroom without it appearing as though there is a hallway connecting them.

The king-size bed in the master bedroom was made by the same company that makes beds for the British royal family. On top of ample storage space, the bedroom furniture includes a dressing table and a large-screen TV, and an adjacent spa space with a glazed rainfall shower offers the owners a private refuge. 

Other features include an electric sliding door as entrances and front luggage compartment for extra storage. A Volvo, 6-cylinder in-line engine is installed in the eleMMent palazzo Superior that can generate up to 600 hoorepower while on the road, and Marchi Mobile says that the luxurious motorhome has an automatic transmission.

The Elemment Palazzo Is An Uber Luxurious RV By Marchi

Marchi's Elemment Palazzo Luxury Motorhome has expandable walls, flaunts a Sky Lounge, and has a price tag of over $3 million.

Do you know what's common between all motorhomes, be it a beaten old one or a luxurious one? It's that all look the same! It's the same old boxy design because it helps maximize the interior space. But it also makes RVs look like middle-aged dads. But Elemment Palazzo by Marchi, a million-dollar luxury RV , is changing that with its out-of-the-box design focused on efficiency and improved aerodynamics.

It looks like a fish wearing a swim goggle, but that's not the point here. This clean slate yet fluidic design is based on research from the 1970s. And it still looks alien in 2022! Even more impressive is the inside, which can put a luxury apartment to shame . The coolest feature is the Sky Lounge that opens up a yacht-like pod on the roof for an "elevated" experience. Marchi wants to lead the future of RVs with this bold and outlandish motorhome .

Based On A Volvo Truck And Packs 600 Horses

Underneath all that out-worldly design is a humble Volvo truck, the likes of which you see doing cross-country trips in Europe. It packs a 6-cylinder diesel motor churning out 600 horses. Only the engine and chassis are what remains of the donor truck in the Elemment Palazzo.

The driver's cabin also gets a touch of luxury with white leather upholstery all around. To go along with the futuristic theme of this RV, the driver's cabin is equipped with jet-fighter-inspired instrument clusters and MMI controls. The steering wheel flaunts a stitched red "Marchi" logo. The redesigned driver's cabin also gives a wider view of the road ahead, thanks to the massive oval windshield design.

Offered In Five Configurations; Two Of Which Caught Our Attention

Marchi offers the Elemment Palazzo in five interesting configurations ranging from everyday business-ready RVs to outlandish uber-luxurious set up to leave you dumbstruck. And two of those luxurious configurations is what has dilated our pupils!

The most luxurious options come with expanding sides. This allows adding 68 square meters to an already lavishly spaced cabin. The coolest one is the layout in which each of the sides expands to form a perfectly circular master bedroom. These cabins can expand and put your luxury apartments to shame!

Uber-Luxurious Interior That Expands, And Even Houses A Wine Cellar

We don't think it can get any more luxurious than that of the Elemment Palazzo. This 40-footer has managed to house a master bedroom, a full-sized bath, a cozy living room, and even a wine cellar. It packs an open plate kitchen and flaunts the finest Italian upholstery all around the cabin. The artistic theme goes well with the calming atmosphere and this RV gets a spa area with a private retreat, light therapy, and special surfaces for a calming environment.

All of this has been possible because of the expanding sidewalls. The coolest part about this expanding design is the Palazzos' perfectly round master bedroom that will put even the bedrooms found in palaces to shame. The top-spec configuration also gets expanding panels towards the roof. Yup, the most luxurious Elemment Palazzo configuration comes with something called the Sky Lounge.

It is a rising platform at the rear of the cabin that elevates your experience. It is more like the deck found in yachts but if that bores you, then it can be used for your party needs. When the sky lounge is tucked away, an external staircase leads up to a spacious terrace with lounge furniture and underfloor heating. All this luxury and comfort is cocooned in 60mm of insulation to keep you uninterrupted from all the hustle and bustle on the roads. Bold New Aerodynamic Design To Think Out Of The "Box"

While the inside of this RV is the epitome of luxury, the exterior aims at being the boldest and weirdest among RVs. The Elemment Palazzo by Marchi is unlike any other boxy RV that we have seen. And shockingly this design has been in the works since the 1970s. The late Luigi Colani, a famed German designer, is the man behind this eccentric yet purposeful design language that aimed at making semi-trucks safer and more aerodynamic.

Marchi took upon the bold design and refined it to what we see on the Elemment Palazzo. The basic rules are shared with that of a supercar. Lightweight materials and a smooth exterior surface aimed at minimizing drag. The driver's cabin is an orchestra of shapes with an oval windshield, a swooping banana-like design, and a fish mouth at the rear. Oh, and the hatch to this cabin is a trapezoid.

While the outcome is not exactly beautiful, Marchi managed to improve efficiency by 20% with the huge oval windshield and mouth-like lower surface. Both sides of the RV are flat, and the rear dual-axle setup also gets a neat cover to help deflect air. Even with the sky lounge up, the design still retains its aerodynamic appeal with a cute little spoiler at the rear. This RV emphasizes luxury, comfort, and functionality with the same vigor.

And in a world normalized by boxy RV designs, the Elemment Palazzo by Marchi is a very bold move. The term “luxury vehicle” usually brings to mind Rolls-Royce Phantoms, Lamborghinis or Ferraris.

But what about an ultra-extravagant recreational vehicle? Enter the Elemment Palazzo Superior .

We can’t blame you if you slow down to rubberneck – or stop in your tracks completely – when you see this spaceship-like RV coming down the highway.

Designed and engineered by Marchi Mobile – a subsidiary of Marchi Holding AG , a European automobile company specializing in promotional vehicles and healthcare trucks – the Elemment Palazzo Superior looks like nothing else on the road.

Billing itself as the “most luxurious mobile home in the world,” the innovative RV combines inspiration from sports cars, aviation and yachting to create its unique aesthetic.

Depending on custom configurations, each RV costs between $2-4 million and takes about two years to build.

“Honestly, I designed the Elemment for my own enjoyment in the beginning – it was a little bit selfish. I was tired of what was on offer in the automotive industry,” Mario Marchi, founder of the Marchi Group and creative force behind the RV, tells CNN Travel.

“Almost all RVs have almost exactly the same design and the same functionality – and I didn’t want to jump on that tired and boring wave. I wanted to create something outstanding and unique.”

Hitting the road

Originally from Vienna, Austria, Marchi feels like he was born to design automobiles.

“My first word in life – before mom and dad – was auto, so obviously, I was meant to do this,” he says. “I love all types of vehicles, and I feel fortunate to work on what I am most passionate about.”

His father owned a trucking transportation company, where he drove big rigs while dabbling in show truck design.

His passion for design led Marchi to establish the Marchi Group in 2002.

“That was really the beginning,” he recalls. “I continued designing vehicles and customizing big trucks, building semi-trailers with room extensions and extendable trailers – always trying to innovate.”

After coming across an avant-garde truck cab prototype by German automotive design maverick Luigi Colani, who envisioned futuristic vehicles for the likes of BMW and Volkswagen, Marchi set out to bring the idea to life.

“That early prototype was almost impossible to drive because not too much attention was paid to the functionality,” he says. “But we wanted to create a luxury vehicle that looks and drives beautifully.”

Marchi started drafting designs for the Elemment in 2005, built the first hand-crafted vehicle with a team of engineers in 2010, and introduced the first model in 2012.

Since then, the RV’s overall aesthetic has remained consistent, but everything from the grill to the materials to the production line has evolved.

“Piece by piece, unit by unit, we are improving the vehicle each time,” he says. “Every RV is made-to-order, so we can update and innovate.”

Over the past decade, Marchi started using robots to assemble the units, engineered after-sale spare parts to support customers, and replaced the original fiberglass with industrial carbon fiber, which is much lighter, stronger and more durable.

‘Like a 4D cinema’

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Elemment Palazzo Superior is its futuristic cab with a giant, bug-eyed windshield and extra-high driver’s seat.

Inspired by helicopters, the cockpit is set on the RV’s second level – so it’s almost like you’re flying over the road.

Inside, it resembles what you’d see on a commercial airline with its captain’s chairs and digital aviation dashboard.

“I have driven all kinds of vehicles in my life, and I have to say it’s the best and most impressive driving experience,” says Marchi.

“It’s like being inside a 4D cinema – you have a 180-degree view all around you, which is amazing.”

What’s more, the aerodynamic design was intended to reduce fuel consumption.

According to Marchi, the 28-ton RV has a drag coefficient (or wind resistance) of 0.36, or about 20% better fuel efficiency than a typical RV of the same size.

By comparison, the average sports car has a drag coefficient of 0.30.

Make yourself at home

Stretching about 40-45 feet in length and 8.5 feet wide (or 16 feet, when fully expanded), the RV features oval windows inspired by yacht portholes, chrome trim and what Marchi describes as “race car design lines.”

The interior is just as impressive, offering 732 square feet of living space.

Luxurious touches abound, from radiant floor heating to ambient lighting, adjustable temperature zones, a top-of-the-line kitchenette, fireplace and automatic sliding doors.

One of Marchi’s favorite features is the living room area, which is made for hosting with its wrap-around sofa, 42-inch LED screen TV, and adjacent bar cabinet and wine fridge.

“The floorplan we created is extremely comfortable and designed so you can invite friends over but still have your private space available,” he adds.

Fit for a king

On the far side of the kitchen, a discreet sliding door opens to a spacious primary bedroom.

In this private oasis, you’ll find a dressing area, large-screen TV, ample storage and a king-sized bed made by Hypnos .

Based in England, the fourth-generation family business supplies beds and mattresses to the British royal family.

“The interior itself is mainly based on my tastes and European standards,” says Marchi. “It’s inspired by Italian history in a Venetian style.”

The primary bedroom also has a separate “spa room” with a rain shower and light therapy, which would feel right at home in a luxury hotel.

Raise the roof

The cherry on top is the Sky Lounge. Similar to the flybridge of a yacht, this rooftop terrace emerges from the RV’s roof via an automatic lift system.

To make entertaining easy on the road, Marchi has thought of everything: built-in furniture, a Steinway & Lyngdorf sound system, radiant floor heating and a sun canopy.

And if something’s missing? Everything can be customized, he says.

Some clients want a meeting room and captain’s chairs for business purposes; others want to add a second bedroom or adjust the interior design choices.

“We’re very flexible – our customers have different purposes and tastes, so every vehicle we create is unique,” says Marchi.

Typically, their customers tend to be high-net-worth individuals or companies. Some spend a lot of time on the road for work or prefer driving to flying, he adds. Other times, they plan to use the vehicle for events and promotional purposes.

“Many of our customers just like the feeling of driving this space rocket on the road,” he says. “We also work with a lot of passionate collectors looking for something totally different.”

The eleMMent palazzo Superior is today's top-of-the-line model, and it has been hailed as the most expensive, without a shadow of a doubt. This mobile home has been produced, to this day, in over 190 countries around the world. Its design is a rare occurrence which makes it a masterpiece that takes design elements from the fields of motorsports, aviation, and yachting and combines them into a single package.

It achieved the remarkable appearance of the cab by manufacturing it with extraordinary accuracy by utilizing high-performance carbon fiber materials. As a result, the cab is years ahead of its time. The contours of its sports car design and the covers for its 36-inch rims are similar to those found on most modern race vehicles. The cockpit has central digital instrumentation and MMI control modeled after those found in jet cockpits. However, the cockpit operates more like a luxury limousine. By adjusting the settings on the sunshade, the panoramic windshield, shaped like that of a helicopter, may be made darker in two stages.

The  EleMMent Palazzo provides excellent functionality and comfort, the body construction of the eleMMent series highlights the powerful aesthetic statement that the series is known for. This model uses a method of production for building that is significantly more complicated than what is required in other mobile houses. Outstanding stability and an insulation rating equivalent to that of expedition vehicles used on rugged off-road terrains are provided by its self-supporting and highly durable structure, which has a wall thickness of more than 60 millimeters. Despite this, the lines of the design remain exquisite, with boat windows built in and delicate chrome trim incorporating indirect illumination.

The EleMMent Palazzo has electric sliding doors, a full kitchen, adjustable furniture, a rainfall shower, a fireplace, a spacious lounge area, a luxurious main bedroom with a king-size bed, a half bathroom, a separate 16-square-foot shower room, and a telescoping sky lounge inside. It has everything you'd expect from a home on wheels. Because of the careful and elaborate planning and preparation that went into its creation, the living space has been made as inviting and relaxing as possible for both the owners and guests. The most noticeable elements are a sofa that is four meters long and within reach of a bar, a wine shelf, and an icemaker, in addition to a massive television screen located across the room.

A cheesy-looking French nightclub is evoked by the Sky Lounge's features, which include an automatic lift system that elevates a walled-in roof deck, integrated porch chairs, floor heating, and an outdoor stairway. In addition, the Sky Lounge features an open-air stairwell. The sky lounge is the standard amenity that is the most different from the other models. As sections of the walls emerge from the body, they reveal a terrace outfitted with lounging furniture, radiant floor heating, and a music system. Even when the full-wall room extensions are slid out, the air convection system guarantees a reasonable temperature and prevents excessive pressurization. You can set continuous air circulation guarantees that the best air quality is maintained at all times and in different temperature zones.

The open kitchenette helps to create the impression that the area is more relaxed. Buyers will have plenty of space for storing fresh food and snacks if you have a large fridge, freezer, and icemaker in your kitchen. They install a hood over the stovetop, and the sink is outfitted with a system that allows for computerized water temperature control. These beds are widely acknowledged to be among the most comfortable that can be found anywhere in the world. Additionally, the bedsheets are of the highest quality and have been imported from Italy. The bedroom furniture consists of a substantial amount of storage space, a dressing table, and a huge television. In addition to a dresser and a flat-screen TV, the bedroom furniture includes abundant storage space. A 1.5 sqm glass rainfall shower gives a quiet hideaway for the owners in an adjoining spa room. In addition to unique surfaces, light therapy and architectural mirrors create a secluded environment reserved for the privileged few.
