Visit Château-Renault
Once called the “City of Leather” because of its many tanneries, Château-Renault is much more than a city with a rich industrial past, it also has an astonishing architectural heritage inherited from the 18th and 19th centuries, and even Medieval and Renaissance architecture, along with a rich natural heritage…
Points of interest
The green corridor.
The “Coulée Verte” is a 5 km walkway built at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s in the valleys of the Gault and the Brenne, and extending from the Park of the Source in the east to the Launay mill in the west. It offers a bucolic stroll along the water, in the footsteps of the tanneries and tanning mills that once occupied the banks, surrounded by remarkable flora and fauna.
Saint-André Church
Rebuilt during the Renaissance in 1563, inside you can discover superb 19th century stained glass windows from the Lobin workshop as well as an organ built by the Cavaillé-Coll organ builder in 1869.
The clock tower
The old fortified door of the 12th-14th centuries was recently restored. In the past it defended the principal entry of the enclosure of the castle.
La roseraie
Both a botanical collection and a pleasure garden, the rose garden is located on a terrace of the former castle gardens. With its 350 rose bushes spread over 1300 m2 of flowerbeds with pergolas and tunnels, it is one of the few rose gardens in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
The castle and its park
At the foot of the imposing 12th century keep, reproductions of paintings by André Bauchant, a famous “Naïve” painter, a native of the city (1873-1958), are exhibited in the open air. Some of these paintings can be found in Paris, Munich, and Tokyo. At the level of the town hall located in the old castle, you can look over the lower town with its tile and slate roofs.
The Leather and Tannery Museum
The museum, housed in the former Peltereau-Tenneson tannery, traces the memory of 400 years of leatherworking in Château-Renault. In 1880, 16 tanneries were in operation along the waterways. The last tannery closed in 1985.

Grounded in Passion and Purpose
Across its 156 year history, the story of Renault Winery has always been one of passion and purpose. Resolved to save his vines from blight, Louis Nicholas Renault left his hometown of Mareuil-sur-Ay, France and set sail, first to California (with little agrarian success) and then to Egg Harbor City, NJ where the loamy soil catapulted him to fame. Renault’s passionate resolve and his dream of producing champagne and fine wines gained his new hometown the name of “Wine City.” Renault was one of the only vintners in the U.S. with the privilege of calling his sparkling wine Champagne, a privilege still unique to our winery.
The D’Agostino family continued to produce Renault’s famous wine after his death, even through the Prohibition era when the government allowed the property to produce both Renault Wine & Tonics for religious and medicinal purposes. The 1960’s brought much attention to Renault which became the largest distributer of Champagne in America, with Johnny Carson acting as its spokesman. The Champagne toast at John F. Kennedy inauguration was also none other than Renault’s famed Champagne. Throughout the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s, Louis Renault’s original property evolved under various ownership, growing to include a hotel, restaurant, and golf course.
In late 2018, Vivamee Hospitality, inspired by Louis Renault’s legacy and eager to create an experiential place of love and joy, purchased the then bank-owned Renault Winery. Thus began the revitalization process, resulting in our beautiful, French-inspired resort.
At Renault Winery, we hope you are disarmed by beauty, energizing you to be relentless in your pursuit of your passion and purpose, much like Louis Renault himself.

Castle of Château-Renault
Monument in château-renault.
The castle of the commune of Château-Renault , in the department of Indre-et-Loire , 30 km north-east of Tours, was built from the year 1000.
It is then a wooden dungeon built on a rocky outcrop.
The name of Regnault (derived from Renaud) was assigned by the lord of the place, also vassal of the Count of Blois , in homage to his son.
As early as 1160, a four-storey high circular stone keep was built.
The site was reorganized and reinforced during the Hundred Years War when the fortifications were reinforced. In addition, a chapel is built in the extension "west of the castle" which will be transformed into lodging in the XVIIth century.
At this period, in fact, the châtellenie was set up as a marquisate, which explains why the castle was rebuilt on old foundations and in a classic style. Several owners followed one another, and in 1907, a fire destroyed part of the main buildings. Only the south wing will be rebuilt. Donated to the town, it housed the town hall in 1962.
A terrace leads west to the 12th century keep, the upper levels of which have been destroyed. The interior is closed for security.
To the south-east, access to the site is always via the Porte de l'Horloge. Its lower part dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries. A room is located on the upper part, and we notice the defensive system (hoards with harrow). A steeple contains a remarkable bell dated 1523. The door was restored in 2018.
The different parts of the castle are listed in the Inventory. Guided tour only for groups. Price: 2 and 3 euros. Information and reservations on +33 2 47 29 85 56.

Radiall Château-Renault
La simplification est notre innovation
Château-Renault is located in the Centre Val de Loire region of France, which is known for its gorgeous and numerous castles. Radiall Château-Renault (CHR) is a center for product design, assembly, machining and molding.
WORKING AT RADIALL CHATEAU-RENAULT
A lot of activity takes place at Radiall CHR, including product design, product assembly, machining and molding. The products designed and assembled at Radiall CHR are primarily used in the aerospace , space and defense markets. One of our product designers, Bastien, shared about his role at Radiall CHR, "My role is to simplify the lives of our customers by increasing ingenuity and creativity. It’s a team effort by passionate people working for tomorrow’s world.”
Employees at this site came up with the idea of creativity rooms, called Eureka rooms. Intended to inspire employee innovation, each room features tools to stimulate team creativity, identify roadblocks and facilitate problem solving.
Radiall CHR values its team of employees who are committed to excellency. Many employees have been with Radiall for years, and Alexandra has been part of the Radiall family for nearly her whole life! She shared a little bit of her story, “Both of my parents worked at Radiall Château-Renault, so my story with the site started when I was just 6 months old, at a Christmas party! I followed their steps and joined the company 21 years ago, but I made my own path here. I started with a temporary position in production, later became a planner and was promoted to MoveX Key User. I participated in the SAP migration at CHR, and now I work in Supply Chain Improvement. I created opportunities to explore and found the path that fits me.”
EMPLOYEE INITIATIVES AT RADIALL CHATEAU RENAULT
The team at Radiall CHR is committed to helping local communities and organizations. Every October, they rally together for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Employees wear pink, teams attend workshops hosted by the Ligue contre le Cancer organization and various events are put on to spread awareness.
Elles Bougent is another organization that employees from Radiall CHR partner with. Elles Bougent is dedicated to inspiring young girls to pursue careers in the industrial, technical and scientific fields. in 2020, the godmothers from Château-Renault shared their passions and personal work experiences with junior high school students.
Every year, Radiall CHR invites professors and their students to tour the facility so they can experience life at Radiall. Students learn about the industrial world, jobs, technical skills, office life and more.
LIFE IN CHATEAU RENAULT
Being so close to Tours, Château-Renault was a very important historic center during the Renaissance, when Tours became the capital of France for a time. Thousands of castles were built between the 10th and the 15th centuries, and many renowned artists have lived in this region, including Leonard De Vinci.
TEDx events are organized in Tours every year; the 8th annual event took place in 2022. Eight regional, national or international speakers share their expertise on a specific topic. Since 2017, Radiall has been a partner of the TEDx Tours. Two of Radiall's employees is on the TEDx volunteer team responsible for finding and selecting the speakers.

« Emmanuel Macron reconnaît le coût politique d’une non-réforme de la retraite par points »
Le regret du chef de l’Etat de ne pas avoir réformé la retraite par points le renvoie aux difficultés de son second mandat : la CFDT s’est sentie trahie, la gauche a fait bloc contre le gouvernement.
