We enjoyed every aspect of our small group (7) Vagabond 12 day tour! We loved Danny, and our bonus guides-in-training Brian and Steve, who added so much to our trip with their historical, cultural, and nature knowledge; their attention to our needs and interests; their wit, humor, and slagging; and their guiding us to great hikes, scenery, local pub food, and trad music. The activity level was just as we hoped and desired. Great mix of scenic hikes and visiting places with historical significance. The hotels exceeded our expectations. We felt like we learned so much and our group was well-suited together. No complaints, and lots of kudos! So nice to have this great trip planned out for us, so we could sit back, relax, and save our energy for amazing cliff walks!

A wonderful tour in a beautiful country.

The country of Ireland is beautiful. Our Driftwood tour guide, Damien, was a charming host. He is very knowledgable about Ireland’s history. Damien shared many fascinating stories, as well as funny tales and songs. He took extremely good care of us all. The guide in training, Mairead, was also a delight. The variety of places we visited made the tour so engaging. Also, the amount of time spent in each place was just right. The various stops each day were photo worthy and appealing. The lodgings on the tour exceeded my expectations and the breakfasts were delicious. I highly recommend Driftwood tours and hope to take another one someday.

Best Irish Adventure

Danny, Steve and Brian were amazing and helped to make this trip so memorable. I truly think this trip does a stellar job at showcasing what makes Ireland so special. As a first time visitor, and hopefully many more, I was enthralled by the beauty of the land, the warmth of the people, the food, the music, the history … I could go on.

Friendly driver/tour guide Dave who told great tales and interesting history. Small bus was comfortable and got us to places we couldn’t go with a big bus. Very nice having a small group, we got to be friends before our tour ended. Beautiful country that we truly experienced on this trip!!

Everything was exceptional

Everything was exceptional. What a bargain. The van was clean, the hotels were amazing, the sites visited were special (not the everyday sites all tourists will see). The time allotted at sites was sufficient. But most important, our guide Denise was the best. She is so knowledgeable and is a such a grand storyteller. I was not expecting to learn so much Irish history.

Our 11 day Driftwood Tour around Ireland

Our 11 day Driftwood Tour around Ireland was above and beyond all expectations! I loved the small group atmosphere where we all got know each other and share pics and tips. Our tour guide, Jason, was amazing and provided so much information and was very willing to tailor the trip to what our group was interested in doing. I would highly recommend Vagabond to anyone who wants to see and learn as much about Ireland as they can in a couple of weeks.

Wonderful trip!

Loved traveling the small roads and seeing the beautiful countryside and natural and historic sites of Ireland. With a small number of people in the tour, it was great getting to know everyone in the group. Our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge, shared stories and anecdotal history as we drove the countryside. And you can't beat the Irish sense of humor! We were always cracking up.

The Driftwood trip was fantastic

The Driftwood trip was fantastic. The sights were varied and the guide, Jason, was very knowledgeable, responsive and flexible. We had many opportunities to experience the local life — food, music, geography, history. The places we stayed were unique and mostly small, with helpful staffs.

Fabulous tour! Driver/guide Tomas is the best!

I had the best time on the Driftwood 7 Day Treasure Ireland Tour. Tomas was informative and entertaining (he had us laughing the whole way) and an amazing driver even on roads I wouldn't want to drive in a Mini Cooper. The sights, hotels, and restaurants were very well chosen. It was great to get to places I could not have gone without renting a car. I learned a lot and laughed a lot. I'm planning on booking one of their other tours next year.

Damien was just wonderful

Damien was just wonderful. He was funny, informative and just so accommodating to everyone in the group. We loved the tours we went on and the hotels were lovely. Amazing experience and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Driftwood Experience

I can not speak more highly about the Driftwood 11 day tour that we took in March. The planning was impeccable, hotels and sightseeing choices were excellent. Allen Riley our guide was extremely helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. He was a great representative for the company. It was a great introduction to the wonderful people and beautiful sites of Ireland. From booking the trip to leaving Ireland it was a job well done. Would definitely recommend this to fellow travellers.

Five Fabulous Days in Ireland

My husband and I fell in love with Ireland last week, and it was largely due to the fabulous Vagabond Tour we took with our excellent guide Tadhg. Our dates lined up perfectly with their 5 Day Edge of the World Tour itinerary, and it included many of the areas on our must-see list. We experienced so much in 5 short days. We enjoyed the breathtaking views (only available in the smaller vehicles they use), castles and abbeys and pub nightlife and live traditional music. We were so pleasantly surprised with the hotels with breakfast included in the very fair price. What put our experience over the top was Tadhg. His easy going and genuinely kind personality was delightful. His knowledge of the areas and driving skills were amazing. We have never taken a group tour before, but these small groups make it very enjoyable. We will not hesitate to use Vagabond Tours again the next time we visit Ireland.

I left the your loving Ireland more than I did when I arrived

I piggybacked the Great Southern Tour and the Northern Island Tour. I couldn't be happier with Driftwood Tours! The Vegaguides were INCREDIBLE. Denise & Tomás brought their own personalities to the tours, giving us the history of what we were going to see, which made the experience so much better. I loved the small groups, this helped the guides to cater more to what we wanted to see. I'm also a huge fan of staying away from "touristy" places & being able to sit & talk with locals. The hotels were top-notch & the recommendations on where to go & where to eat were spot on. This was my 3rd time to Ireland. I definitely left loving Ireland more than I did when I got there, and that's saying a lot! Ireland now has 3/4 of my heart thanks to Denise, Tomás, & Driftwood Tours! See you in 2025!

There were communication issues from…

There were communication issues from the main office ahead of your - that we would have expected as common practice. We did not receive final detail communications, I never received feedback from my individual survey (my wife did). Other on our tour shared the same.

Really enjoyed our 7-day tour. Tomas was very knowledgeable and personable. Hotels and food were great. Would highly recommend Vagabond!

Damian was an amazing guide

Damian was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable and always happy to be on the tour. Our tour hit all the great locations and we loved the visit to the sheep farm. My only comment is it would be nice to stay at the same hotel for at least 2 nights each time.

Treasure Island Experience

Well organized, on time, interesting destinations; just the right amount of outdoor activity, shopping opportunities. Accommodations were all excellent and comfortable. Nice food was very available.

12 Day Giant Irish Adventure Tour - Vagabond Tours of Ireland

On this incredible Irish adventure you will experience and learn about the modern and ancient history of Ireland. On this Vagabond Tour, you will travel the length of the famous Wild Atlantic Way.

Northern and North West Ireland:

Northern Ireland was named as one of the top ten places in the world to visit by Lonely Planet travel guides. Not surprising really when you consider the great scenery, fascinating history, the activity options and the genuinely warm welcome. All the highlights such as Belfast, Derry, the Antrim coastline and the Giant's Causeway are covered, plus plenty of secret places. Fans of Game of Thrones will be treated to see many of the stunning backdrops from the series, which were shot largely in Northern Ireland.

North West and Western Ireland:

Heading across to the north west, imagine a country of wild moorland, rugged mountain ranges, and endless unspoilt beaches. Counties Donegal, Sligo and Mayo feature some of Europe's least populated regions, at times you will have the landscape all to yourselves as you walk in the hills of Donegal, explore the megalithic tombs at Carrowkeel in Sligo, or walk along Silver Strand Beach in Mayo. There are, of course, a few well known highlights, like Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holiest mountain and plenty of breathtaking lesser known locations.

Western Ireland:

The Western section of the tour weaves it way down the coast from County Mayo into counties Galway and Clare and down towards the mighty River Shannon. Firstly, the tour enters Connemara, a favourite area for Irish people to come on holiday due to the rugged scenery, local friendliness and culture. Continuing south, either through or round Galway City entering the southerly province of Munster and County Clare to explore the landscape of the Burren, enjoy live traditional Irish music in the area and marvel at the Cliffs of Moher.

South West Ireland:

The south west is the most popular area of Ireland for visitors, and with good reason. You spend four nights in counties Kerry and Cork exploring the three peninsulas of Dingle, Iveragh (the Ring of Kerry) and Beara. Each has its unique scenery and atmosphere, from the green rolling fields and buzzing town of Dingle, to the majestic mountains of the Ring of Kerry and the remote and unspoilt wilderness of the Beara Peninsula. The tour includes trips to islands, sea kayaking with seals, visiting ancient archaeological sites and enjoying first class Cork and Kerry hospitality before heading inland and back through Limerick and Tipperary to Dublin.
