Safari Island Resort and Spa – Maldives

The Safari Island Resort and Spa features a private beach, sand banks, and a small accessible reef. Guests here will also find 39 overwater bungalows along with 15 more Semi-Overwater Bungalows that are perched just on the edge of the island. The resort also has 30 beach bungalows, but it is still on the smaller side and only houses one restaurant, a coffee shop, and a bar.

The overwater bungalows here are smaller than most rooms in the Maldives, but they are still larger than typical hotel rooms elsewhere. Each room features a glass-bottom coffee table with direct views down into the lagoon below, plus steps down into the lagoon from the private sun deck. At launch the off season rates are among the most appealing in the Maldives, while the high season rates aren't quite as low.

The hotel was great. Beach was stunning. Great for swimming; we were afraid of the sharks, luckily we didn’t encounter any while swimming. The over water villas are worth every penny. We took the semi water villa, it was better because it was closer to the restaurant and reception. However, little privacy since at lunch time people at the restaurant could see you swimming. Especially if you’re in semi water room number 131-134 However, still better than the beach villa. Beach villa looks nice and over look the sandy side of the beach which is perfect for swimming without any sharks. Semi water villas overlook a lot of reefs so you will see sharks and it is the best spot for snorkeling. I loved that they cleaned the room twice daily. Buffet was nice had a wide variety of food selection, not fancy tho but it’s what you paid for. We stayed 4 days and each day there were something new to the buffet not the same thing every day. If you’re honeymooners they will give you a complimentary candle light dinner. Which is so cute. I think the hotel needs to renovate their furniture and mattress as well

This my 10th times in Maldives I love to relax and snorkel a lot. Safari Island resort I saw a big crowd of fishes like these fishes around me. I saw a big shark near my room. Good to stay here and I will be back again.

The water bungalows were incredibly spacious with beautiful views. We loved snorkeling to the reef right from our bungalow. I traveled with my 16 year old and 11 year old and they weren't bored at all with options of snorkeling, swimming in the lagoon or the pool. The laid back nature of the resort was perfect.

Safari Island Maldives is located in the Heart of North Ari Atoll, Republic of Maldives. The Size of the Island is approximately 30,000 Square meters. The Island is surrounded by a white powdery, sandy beach and crystal clear water lagoon, and a house reef which is attractive for snorkeling and Diving with attractive diving points.

Safari Island Maldives holds a total of 30 Maldivian types of thatched, detached beach bungalows, 15 Semi Water Bungalows, and 39 Water Bungalows. All the rooms are beachfront and have a sea view.

Shaded with a magnificent white roof, and floating over the lagoon the main restaurant is where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided in an all-you-can-eat buffet style with various international and regional cuisines to please everyone’s taste.

Restaurants

Lagoon Restaurants. Shaded with a magnificent white roof, and floating over the lagoon the main restaurant is where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided in an all-you-can-eat buffet style including lively Theme Nights. Sunday night dinner is Maldivian/Asian night with a themed menu and Soups, bread and desserts are homemade and the fresh, tropical fruits are delicious. The buffet lines also include live-action, cooking stations in which our chefs prepare your food to your preference.

Palm bar. Floating in the turquoise lagoon next to the main restaurant is the island bar where guests can enjoy drinks and leisure time. Open from morning until the last guest leaves, the bar also invites guests for daily happy hour (18:00 hrs – 19:30 hrs) with a 20% discount on all drinks. The bar has a Live Band performance once every 2 weeks on Monday.

Sun Down Bar. The sundown bar on a wooden deck with a view of the stunning lagoon turns into grand stairs at sundown when nature paints a different scene every dusk. The golden sun sinks beneath the horizon casting a multitude of orange, red, and pink hues across the sky and there is no place better to enjoy the show than at the sundown bar, accompanied by a drink or two.

Pool bar. The bar offers drinks & snacks. The pool bar is open: from 10:00 hrs – 22:00 hrs. Pool bar hosts a crab race every Tuesday night from 21:00 hrs – 22:30 hrs

• Baggage allowance is 25kg and 5kg hand luggage (subject to change without prior notice). Any excess luggage is chargeable and will have to be paid directly to the transfer provider.
• In the event of Force Majeure, the arrival and departure transfers may not be arranged at scheduled times resort is not liable for any compensation claims due to such delays.
• Seaplane operates only during daylight hours (0600 hrs – 1600 hrs). Hence, guests arriving on international flights will be required to check in at the seaplane counter in the international arrivals terminal before 1600hrs in order to be able to transfer to the resort on the same day or they will require overnight accommodation in Malé. They will be transferred to the lodge the following morning.

If you lose an item while in the facility, promptly check the Lost & Found to see if the item has been retrieved.  We hold all items found within the facility in Lost & Found for one week.  After one week, any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.  Safari Island Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Indoor Water Parks and Pools for Philly Area Families

W hile it might be nice to board a plane to a sunny island, it’s not always possible or cost-effective. Luckily, you can enjoy some summertime fun year-round at the many indoor water parks near Philly. Go dig out your bathing suit from behind your coats and mittens, and get ready to take the plunge at one of these exciting parks and family-friendly resorts.

Indoor Water Parks for Families in Pennsylvania

H20ooohh indoor family water park  — lake harmony.

This family water park is particularly great for adventure seekers. Popular attractions include Pennsylvania’s first indoor flowrider as well as three four-story slides. Families looking to take it easy can enjoy the wave pool, and younger children can splash and explore in the activity pool and Leapin' Lillypad play areas. The water park is adjacent to Split Rock Resort, but day passes are available on Fridays from 4 to 8 pm. This spot is the most fun for kids 12 and younger and moderately enjoyable for kids 13 and older.

The Splashdown Safari at Kalahari Resorts indoor water park features a zero-entry pool and large climbing structures.

Kalahari Resorts  — Pocono Manor

Known as America's largest water park, Kalahari Resorts has 220,000 square feet of fun. It features a sweeping park full of slides, tubing adventures, and even its own indoor surfing and body boarding experience. While thrill seekers can test their bravery on the Anaconda water roller coaster, younger guests have plenty of fantastic options for water play in the Splashdown Safari, complete with zero-depth entry pools, net crawls, and interactive water fun. While Kalahari is a wonderful option for the coldest days, it's also great during the summer months, when guests can take full advantage of Kalahari’s retractable roof to bask in the sunshine. Note: Purchasing day passes online is the only way to guarantee admission. 

Woodloch Resort's indoor water park isn't huge, but it offers big-time fun.

Woodloch Resort  — Hawley

Woodloch's Splash Zone is one of the smaller indoor water parks on this list. Open only to those who stay at the all-inclusive resort, the Splash Zone is perfect for families with younger children and is a great complement to the many outdoor winter activities Woodloch offers. It houses a double-corkscrew slide, a water tower that douses revelers with 300 gallons of water every few minutes, and a splash area featuring fountains and sprayers. There's also a kiddie splash pool for the little ones to enjoy. Children who go on the slide must be able to swim without a flotation device.

Aquatopia at Camelback Resort  — Tannersville

Aquatopia is one of the largest water parks at more than 125,000 square feet. Daring older kids (and parents) can test their mettle on the aptly named Skydive Plummet, which is one of more than a dozen kinds of slides you can find at the park; others include mat slides, bowl slides, body slides, and even aqua launch capsule slides. For the little ones, there are kiddie slides and a zero-depth entry pool at the Penguin Play Bay. Families can also delight in the gigantic wave pool that’s so real, you’ll feel like you’re at the beach. The waterpark is open only to hotel guests. Camelback, which we've visited several times, offers year-round fun, including skiing and tubing , and an outdoor water park for the summer.

Take the plunge with a ride on the Hydro Plunge at Great Wolf Lodge.

Great Wolf Lodge  — Scotrun

This family-friendly water park is a favorite among the well-known indoor water parks, and it’s not hard to see why. Kids of all ages have seemingly unlimited options, from slide boarding and tube slides to aquatic roller coasters with a 40-foot drop. Families looking to relax can also float along the lazy river or have pint-sized fun on the mini slides and geysers at the Cub Paw Pool. There are also lots of options for kids after they dry off, including storytime, puppet shows, character appearances throughout the park, a scaled-down bowling alley, and an arcade. Stay at the hotel or grab a day pass to visit this water park. There's also a brand new Great Wolf Lodge nearby in Perryville, MD .

Indoor Water Parks for Families in New Jersey

Big kahuna's indoor & outdoor water park  — west berlin.

Clocking in at more than 60,000 square feet, Big Kahuna's is one of the largest indoor water parks in New Jersey. While the typical attractions are here, such as a lazy river and a family raft ride, there also are unique offerings such as The Flow Rider, an indoor surfing simulator, and attractions such as the Aqua Arena. Kids of all ages will love racing on the body slides, mastering the challenging obstacle courses of Komodo Crossing, and even slam-dunking basketballs in the pool. There are lots of options just for little ones, too, including the Little Lizard Landing, which is perfect for toddlers.

Hit the Biosphere Pool Complex at Crystal Springs Resort for a taste of the tropics.

Resort Pool Complex at Crystal Springs Resort  — Hamburg

Billed as the resort’s “architectural and amenity focal point," the Biosphere pool is a 10,000-square-foot tropical indoor pool complex. The Biosphere has a 140-foot water slide, grotto-like jacuzzis, and even an underground aquarium. Waterfalls and lush foliage transport families to a true tropical state of mind. If you're missing the sun, this is the place for you: the Biosphere's special roof allows nearly 100% light transmission, so be sure to pack your sunscreen. The Mineral Pool Complex has an underground aquarium, waterfall screened cave, and beautiful views of the mountains.

Live the island life for a day at Island Waterpark in Atlantic City. 

Island Waterpark  — Atlantic City

Located in Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, Island Waterpark offers fun for the whole family. Check out slide island, the wave flowrider, and the lazy river, or dry off and enjoy the arcade! Bring the grandparents to watch the kids and head to the 21+ Paradise Adult Island to enjoy the swim-up bar and the bliss pool. In the summer months, the retractable roof lets in the warm summer breeze!

DreamWorks Water Park at  American Dream  — East Rutherford

This theme park in northern New Jersey has so much to offer families and kids of all ages. To start, the water park is open year round and is actually the largest one in North America. Visitors can expect Nickelodeon-themed attractions, a wave pool, lazy river, slides, hot tubs, sky box suites, and poolside cabanas. In addition to the water park, guests can enjoy the indoor theme park with roller coasters and rides, as well as an indoor snow park featuring skiing and snowboarding, an ice rink, shops, and restaurants. With so many options, there is no way to be bored at this kid paradise.

Indoor Water Parks for Families in New York

Six flags great escape lodge  — queensbury.

White Water Bay is the indoor water park housed at this mountain lodge. Access is included with a stay at the hotel. Day passes can also be purchased. While families can float leisurely along the lazy river, those looking for a faster pace will take pleasure in the whitewater rafting experience or hang 10 while trying their hand at surfing. An aquatic treehouse is a real treat for kids of all sizes, and there are plenty of slides and pools for water play of all kinds. At Tip-A-Kanu Beach, tots can swing in baby swings and wade in shallow pools complete with wildlife-themed fountains. 

Cascades at Greek Peak Mountain Resort  — Cortland

The first indoor water park in the Finger Lakes Region, Cascades is attached to Hope Lake Lodge, a luxurious “green” hotel with panoramic views of the area. Priding itself on a spacious wave pool and two-story tube slide, Cascades also features Big and Little Bear Falls, where kids of all ages will love splashing and exploring, and the Cove, a 22,000-gallon, 1,000-square-foot area designed for shooting hoops. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy Hot Springs, indoor/outdoor hot tubs fitted with hydrotherapy jets that are perfect for unwinding after a day of fun. 

Rocking Horse Ranch  — Highland

It's always 85 degrees at Rocking Horse Ranch. This large indoor water park is part of an all-inclusive Hudson Valley resort that also features a true ranch, complete with horseback riding year-round. Big kids find thrills and chills on Gold Rush, a 250-foot-long Golden Flume Water Slide as well as Dynamite Alley Water Walk Challenge. Preschoolers aren't left out either, with smaller slides, fountains, and aqua stations aplenty. Kids can also enjoy fun beyond the water park with bounce houses, entertainment characters, and an arcade.

Boat transfers are dependent on water levels of the river. When the river is to low, open safari vehicles are used.

Overnight Mokoro Trips

Self-catered mokoro (two day), luggage mokoros if required, self-catered mokoro (three day), self-catered mokoro trips.

Chief’s Island Day trips are dependent on the water levels of the Okavango Delta. The floods are usually expected towards the end of June.

Transfer, community guide and mokoro, park fees.

Camping equipment, food and drinks, ablution facilities, luggage mokoro and poler.

Note: To qualify for these rates a minimum of 2 people are required. If 1 person, add 70% to the rate.

Adventurer: full participation.

Safari Island offers unique opportunity for guest to enjoy full day or overnight trips in Safari boats which are equipped with abundant facilities such as shower with hot & cold water, bathroom amenities, toilet, air-conditioner, bed, refrigerator, DVD player, TV, fully equipped kitchen, tea/coffee making facilities and a sun deck.

Guest can hire the Safari boat during their stay on hourly basis subject to boat availability. Guests can enjoy various excursions on Safari boat such as deep sea fishing, snorkeling, dolphin cruise, etc. For any specific requests or any assistance on booking the trip please contact the front desk.

Can I book the boat tour in advance? No, however you can request for advance bookings, if possible hotel try to fulfill the request. How can I book the boat tour? You can book the trip from hotel reception once arrived to the hotel based on available dates during your stay. If I am unable to take the trip during my stay, can I get a refund for the Trip?  Yes, we will refund the charges. If the scheduled trip was cancelled for some unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, will I be able to re-book the tour? Yes you can rebook the tour subject to availability. Can I pay & book the tour if I am not entitled? Yes you can pay & book the tour subject to availability of the boats.

How many people can take the boat tour? Initial price will include 2 pax, additional pax charges can be checked with the reception.
