It was over 30 years ago that Dave Mustaine founded MEGADETH , in the process pioneering the sound that would become known the world over as thrash metal. And from the very beginning, the band proved to be the most lethal and audacious unit on the heavy music scene, pushing thrash to the limits of musical ferocity and instrumental virtuosity on early efforts like their 1985 debut, Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good! and 1986’s seminal Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?. MEGADETH have taken their place as one of metal’s most influential and respected acts—not to mention among its most successful. They have gone on to sell more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including a 2017 GRAMMY Award for “Best Metal Performance” for the title track “Dystopia,” 12 GRAMMY  nominations, and scoring five consecutive platinum albums. With sheer determination and a relentless recording and touring schedule, MEGADETH worked their way up from headlining clubs to headlining arenas, festival and stadiums, cementing a legacy that continues to grow and spread throughout the world. MEGADETH are slated to release their 16th studio album, “The Sick, The Dying…And The Dead” this spring.

LAMB OF GOD propelled heavy metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004, was the first LAMB OF GOD album to be certified gold by the RIAA, as was 2006’s Sacrament, which also made a Top 10 Billboard 200 chart debut. In 2009, LAMB OF GOD released Wrath, their first with Josh Wilbur as producer, and earned the number one album spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts, with a number two position on the Billboard 200. Those number one positions were repeated with 2012’s Resolution, which swung effortlessly between thrash, traditional metal, sludgy doom, with flashes of crust punk swagger and bravado. LAMB OF GOD’s last album, VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) made its debut on the Billboard 200 at number three and finished number 2 in the world charts, reaching Top 5 in five countries and six additional Top 15 positions. The single “512” was nominated for a GRAMMY  Award for “Best Metal Performance”, the band’s fifth nomination. In 2020 LAMB OF GOD released their critically acclaimed self-titled opus, the band’s best work to date, featuring new drummer Art Cruz, LAMB OF GOD is re-energized and unrelenting, ready to lay claim to the metal throne.

TRIVIUM’s tenth album In The Court Of The Dragon arrived in 2021. The band and album have been praised by and featured in mainstream outlets like The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, TechCrunch, and Kotaku, as well as Guitar World, Revolver, Alternative Press, and more. They released the now-canonical album Ascendancy in 2005. It was recognized as KERRANG!’s “Album of the Year,” achieved a gold certification in the UK, and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. Metal Hammer placed it in the Top 15 of “The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of the 21st Century.” It ignited a string of six consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 and five straight Top 3 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, culminating on 2017’s benchmark “The Sin And The Sentence.” That album elevated the group’s total stream tally past a quarter-of-a-billion. Additionally, “Betrayer” received a GRAMMY  Award nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance.” Unanimous acclaim followed from Decibel, Loudwire, Ultimate Guitar, MetalSucks, and Metal Hammer, who dubbed them, “quite simply one of the best bands in modern metal.” 2020 brought What The Dead Men Say. The album was produced by Trivium and Josh Wilbur and debuted at #35 on the Billboard Top 200; at #2 on the Top Current Albums Chart, and at #3 on both the Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top Rock Albums Chart. They have performed alongside Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and many others and graced the main stages of Download, Bloodstock, KNOTFEST, and beyond.

IN FLAMES are less of a band than they are a musical institution in the heavy music world. Since helping create Sweden’s legendary “Gothenburg Sound” three decades ago to their current status as melodic metal monoliths, the act have constantly eschewed trends in order to forge their own musical path having been prevented from joining the initial leg of the METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR due to travel restrictions, they are primed and ready to bring their inimitable brand of metal to the stage on this upcoming run in support of the 20th Anniversary re-release of their landmark album ‘Clayman’ and 2019 album ‘I, The Mask’.

Megadeth, Lamb of God Plot Sprawling Co-Headlining Tour

By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Megadeth and Lamb of God will team up for a massive co-headlining North American tour this year.

The 55-date trek will be split into two legs, the first of which kicks off June 12th at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, and wraps August 1st at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. The second run launches October 2nd at iTHINK Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida, and runs through November 13th at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

In addition to Megadeth and Lamb of God, the tour will boast opening sets from Trivium and In Flames.

Tickets will go on sale on February 14th at 10 a.m. local time via LiveNation (on-sale times may differ for certain cities, as noted below). Citi cardholders will have access to pre-sale tickets from February 11th at 10 a.m. local time through February 13th at 10 p.m. local time. VIP packages for all four artists on the tour will also be available.

The tour marks Megadeth’s first North American run since 2017 and follows Dave Mustaine’s diagnosis and recovery from throat cancer. Mustaine was diagnosed right as Megadeth was recording their new album, and at a recent show in London, he said he underwent 51 radiation treatments and nine chemotherapy treatments but has since been ruled “100 percent” cancer-free.

As for Lamb of God, last week they ended a five-year hiatus with a new song, “Checkmate.” The track will appear on the band’s upcoming self-titled album, which will arrive on May 8th.

One of the biggest and baddest co-headlining tours of the year is upon us. The Metal Tour of the Year with Megadeth and Lamb of God with special guests Trivium and Hatebreed launched on August 20 at Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, Texas. The 29-date run which includes a couple of festival slots is set to run through October 2 where it will wrap at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.

Megadeth performed an 11-song set for fans kicking things off with "Hangar 18" and worked their way through songs from the albums Dystopia , Rust in Peace , Countdown to Extinction , Killing Is My Business... and Business is Good! , Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? and Cryptic Writings .

Not only was this show the first concert the band has performed since February 22, 2020, but it also marked their first show with bassist James LoMenzo since December 13, 2009, where they wrapped the Endgame Tour at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It's worth noting the setlist received a change-up on the second show of the tour which took place on August 21 in Irving, Texas. The show didn't include the songs "The Threat is Real," "Sweating Bullets" and "Mechanix" but instead featured "Take No Prisoners," "The Conjuring," "She-Wolf" and "A Tour Le Monde." See the setlist from night 2 HERE .

Check out the full setlist for Megadeth's opening night and watch their opening number recorded by fans below.

Lamb of God's set for the Metal Tour of the Year included some big firsts! Not only was it their first show since September 25, 2020, it also marked the first time the songs "Memento Mori," "Resurrection Man," New Colossal Hate," and "Remorse Is for the Dead" were all played in front of a live audience.

Lamb of God worked their way through the 12-song setlist which closed with "Redneck" from 2006's Sacrament . Of the three shows Lamb of God has played on this tour, they've yet to change up the setlist so we're sure fans are curious to see if they switch things up mid-way through.

See their full setlist below and fan-recorded footage of "Remorse Is for the Dead" below!

Trivium's 8-song setlist included three songs from What the Dead Men Say , two songs from In the Court of the Dragon and one song from each of their respective albums, In Waves , Shogun , and The Sin and the Sentence . The set opened with "In the Court of the Dragon" before wrapping up with "In Waves."

Megadeth announces North America tour, closing out with a Nashville stop

Megadeth has announced a 2024 fall  "Destroy All Enemies Tour" that will take them all across North America. On Sept. 28, the thrash metal band will end their tour in Nashville at the Municipal Auditorium.

The 33-show tour, produced by Live Nation, will feature support from Mudvayne and All That Remains.

The two-month tour will kick off on Aug. 2 in Rogers, AR before hitting cities in Texas, California, Nevada, Florida, North Carolina and more.

The band, comprised of vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine, bassist James LoMenzo, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari and drummer Dirk Verbeuren, is known for songs "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" and "Symphony of Destruction."

They most recently released their 2022 album "The Sick, The Dying...And The Dead!"

“Our ‘Crush The World’ tour has been a tremendous experience for the four of us,” said singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine in a statement.

“We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing, we are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off. I’m excited to see Mudvayne, and All That Remains. Join us as we DESTROY ALL ENEMIES.”

How do I get tickets for the Megadeth 2024 tour?

Tickets for all the dates will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, April 26.

Fans can access a presale for the Cyber Army and Megadeth Digital members at megadeth.com .

DERBY, ENGLAND - AUGUST 13: Dave Mustaine of Megadeth performs at Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2023 ... [+] at Catton Hall on August 13, 2023 in Derby, England. (Photo by Katja Ogrin/Redferns)

It wasn’t long ago when Megadeth had one of the hottest metal tours on the block which was fittingly coined ‘The Metal Tour Of The Year.’ The 2021 and 2022 co-headlining tour consisted of Megadeth and modern heavyweights Lamb of God with opening acts Trivium, Hatebreed, and later In Flames. Nearly every band on the bill offered something unique yet sonically similar enough to make it an air tight package. Not to mention, the tour sold exceptionally well with averaging 7,000 tickets sold across 24 dates from its first leg. To say it was a smashing success for Megadeth would be an understatement, and with their recent Grammy nomination for their well received 2022 LP The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead , the band was experiencing quite a moment to say the least.

However, despite the recent wins for Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro exiting the band was a pretty big blow to the fans, as he’s made significant contributions to Megadeth since joining in 2015. In fact, in the past Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine had been fairly open about his admiration for Loureiro and he’s gone as far as saying , “Megadeth has had guys like Jeff [Young] and Marty [Friedman], but Kiko is the best we’ve ever had.”

Now with the band’s new guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who was recommended by Loureiro prior to exiting the band, Megadeth aren’t quite in the same position they were in a couple years ago, though at no fault of Mäntysaari who is in fact filling the shoes of lead guitarist incredibly well, according to Mustaine.

With all that being said, the band’s recent headlining tour announcement comes as a surprise to many fans, particularly with the supporting lineup Megadeth has in place. Nu metal giants Mudvayne and metalcore pioneers All That Remains are slated to support Megadeth on their upcoming late summer North American, which is titled the Destroy All Enemies tour. Maybe the tour’s title is an attempt at the band poking fun at themselves because it doesn’t appear they’ll be making any new friends with a tour lineup that’s such a stark contrast from their recent North American tours.

After one look at the comments section on Megadeth’s instagram post for the tour announcement, it’s clear that the most upvoted comments are from fans being harshly critical or puzzled by Megadeth’s decision to have Mudvayne and All That Remains as support, and that’s putting it lightly. No disrespect to either Mudvayne or All The Remains as both bands have made significant contributions to early 2000s metal and are great on their own merits, but the three bands together just seems at odds with Megadeth status as a legacy band. If they’d added another opener that was more sonically like minded and a newer act like Havok, Enforced, or even Power Trip the bill would possibly seem a little less jarring to fans. Better yet, a co-headlining tour with Pantera, whom are currently headlining arenas across the states, would do wonders for both bands especially given the demand for the recent Pantera reunion.

Trump Media Stock (DJT) At Risk Of A New Short Selling Plunge

Your best look yet at the new iphone 16, ryan garcia what s ostarine and how could a boxer use it to cheat.

Regardless, both Mudvayne and All That Remains can draw on their own, but it’ll be interesting to see if Megadeth fans are the primary ticket buyers for this tour or if there’s a healthy mix from each of the acts’ core fanbases. Or better yet, maybe there’s a more shared appreciation for all acts than the comments suggest. It’s entirely possible, but tickets sales and the crowd response at the shows will no doubt be the deciding factors.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
