But with so many deals flying around, finding the right one for you can be overwhelming. Here's how to navigate your way through this year's Black Friday deals and maximize your savings.

When is Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday?

As the sales period has evolved, knowing when to grab a bargain can be confusing.

Generally speaking, there are three main days of sales in 2023:

• Black Friday (Nov. 24)
• Cyber Monday (Nov. 27)
• Travel Tuesday (Nov. 28)

Traditionally, Black Friday is best for getting deals in-store; however, each year, we've seen more and more online deals and sales. A worthwhile tip is to check both in-store and online pricing if you can before buying anything.

Cyber Monday occurs on the Monday after Black Friday and is when most companies release deals online. However, it's not uncommon for companies to launch deals even earlier. A good example is Amazon, which will launch its Black Friday sales early on Nov. 17, or Walmart, which began its Black Friday sales on Nov. 9.

Meanwhile, Travel Tuesday is the day after Cyber Monday and is when we see airlines, hotels, cruise operators and other travel companies release flash sales and other deals they haven't already shared.

Here's a run-through of other key Black Friday sale dates to put on your calendar:

Best travel essentials deals

• Amazon : Black Friday sales will run Nov. 17-27.
• Best Buy: Early deals are already live, but Best Buy's official Black Friday sales will run Nov. 17-25, and Cyber Monday sales will be Nov. 25-27.
• Target: Early Black Friday sales are already live and run to Thanksgiving Weekend with new deals in-store every Sunday of November, which you can preview here . They'll also have a Holiday Price Match service if they offer a better deal on an item between now and Dec. 24, so keep those receipts.
• Walmart: The first wave of Walmart sales began on Nov. 8, with in-store deals on Nov. 10. There'll be a second online wave on Nov. 22 and more in-store on Nov. 24. Now might be a good time to sign up for Walmart+ .
• Costco: Early Black Friday deals will run Nov. 13-27, and you can preview them here . Official online Black Friday weekend deals run Nov. 24-27; you can preview them here .

What travel deals have we seen on Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday?

Not every Black Friday travel deal will be one to drop everything for and book, but there are always noteworthy exceptions.

For example, a few years ago, on Cyber Monday, Expedia offered 90% off of hotels booked through their mobile app.

In previous years JetBlue has offered promo codes for $100 off of flights and up to $400 off of JetBlue Vacations packages. Spirit Airlines has offered one-way flights starting at $20.21. Frontier Airlines has also discounted flights by 99%. Alaska Airlines also ran a $29 fare sale last year.

Many international airlines also offer Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. For instance, Air Canada last year offered up to 30% discount on fares. Likewise, Qatar Airways has participated, offering a 10% discount on newly booked flights. British Airways also often has significant discounts for its travel packages.

Last year we saw savings of up to 40% with Omni Hotels and Resorts, MSC Cruises and Holland America.

While theme parks like Disney don't always participate in Black Friday-specific sales, others do. For example, in 2020, we saw Legoland offer up to 50% off passes, and Universal Orlando also ran a buy-two-get-two-days free deal.

On the hotel front, Fairmont has sold eGift cards at a 20% discount. And those looking to purchase an annual Clear membership have also had chances to save $40 during past Black Friday sales.

How to find Black Friday travel deals and maximize your savings

Black Friday and Cyber Monday travel deals have already started popping up, though the intensity and frequency of the deals will only increase as Thanksgiving approaches.

The best outcome for shopping Black Friday travel deals is when you are able to double or even triple dip your savings. In addition to finding the deal itself, you might also be able to earn extra cash back or bonus points. This applies to merchandise purchases as well.

Here are some top tips for staying ahead of the curve so you can pounce on the best deals as they're released and also make some additional savings.

Follow the right social media accounts and email newsletters

Subscribe to email lists for every airline, hotel brand, car rental company, rail operator and more that you're interested in. As a rule of thumb, if the brand also has a loyalty program, you should sign up for that, too. Special deals are often released to members that aren't accessible to the general public.

For example, if you're interested in deals from Royal Caribbean , JetBlue Airways and Hyatt , be sure you're on their respective email lists.

You should also follow the travel brands you care about on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, as the companies often promote special savings on their accounts.

But don't just stop there. You should also make sure you're signed up for booking sites like Expedia and airfare sites like Skyscanner, which will likely flag drops in prices or special offers that they're running.

Set price alerts for dream trips

One additional way to find Black Friday travel deals (at least for airfare) is to let the deals come to you. This may not work for all deals, but setting a price alert for a flight you know you want to take is a great way to get notified of price drops without having to constantly scour the web for savings.

There are some early Black Friday deals already out there, so we recommend getting these tips into action as soon as possible if you want to be able to shop the broadest selection of offers.

Check historical pricing

Just because a Black Friday or Cyber Monday travel deal pops into your email doesn't necessarily mean it is a deal.

It's not unheard of to see some hotels offer promotions that aren't actually cheaper than member rates or ongoing AAA rates. Double-check member rates and any loyalty program savings before you book.

It's wise to think through where you want to go now, then see what the regular prices are for everything from hotels to flights for the destination you are most interested in. This way, you'll be better positioned to judge just how much of a deal something truly is.

Airfare deals can be subject to seasonality and hidden fees, such as charges for checked bags. Use Google Flight's historical pricing feature to understand whether the offered deal is a good saving or whether adding things like checked bags will wipe out any savings.

Finally, sites like Amazon regularly see prices yo-yo throughout the year, and they don't always save their best deals for Black Friday or Prime Day. If you're buying from Amazon, we recommend using a site like Camelcamelcamel.com , which tracks historical shifts in pricing. You can also use the site to set alerts on specific products you want to buy,

Use online shopping portals

Many travel companies are part of an online shopping portal , and if you book through a shopping portal, you can earn something in return, such as extra points, miles or cash back.

To get the most bang for your buck, use a shopping portal aggregator like CashbackMonitor.com or Evreward.com to see which portal has the best return — since payouts can vary from day to day.

You won't find all travel companies on sites like Rakuten, but it's worth looking there, too, especially since many shopping portals will offer an increased payout during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period.

For example, let's say you are booking a trip with IHG . Often, you'll find that you can earn cash back for stays at select properties by first starting at the Rakuten shopping portal. While rates are typically around 3%, we've seen promotions climb to as much as 20% cash back.

Marriott , Hertz, Hawaiian Airlines , Qatar Airways, Expedia and British Airways are just some of the other travel companies that can be found in these booking portals.

Check your Amex Offers

Amex Offers is one of our favorite ways to save money on purchases, and you can easily save hundreds of dollars each year by applying Amex Offers to bookings.

Travel-related Amex Offers pop up regularly, especially during Black Friday and Cyber Monday travel bookings. Do remember, however, that you must use your targeted American Express credit card when paying after adding the offer to your card to take advantage of these special offers.

If you have multiple American Express credit cards, you'll want to look through all your accounts, as you might see different offers per card.

Also, keep in mind that a purchase must actually go through by the expiration date. So, if you make a hotel reservation at the Grand Hyatt Vail for next March and don't pay when you book, the statement credit won't be triggered.

Use the right credit cards

In addition to paying attention to Amex Offers and similar deals via credit card issuers, it's important to ensure you're always using the best travel credit card possible when finalizing any travel-related reservation. This is so you receive extra perks, such as automatic travel protection or bonus points, for every purchase.

Two of our favorite cards for travel purchases are the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card .

With these cards, you'll earn bonus points for each dollar spent on travel (excluding when you're using the Reserve's $300 travel credit) and receive top-notch travel protection benefits. This will come in handy in case you get sick before a trip and need to cancel, incur a delay while sitting at the airport or need to be evacuated in case of an emergency.

Use the ability to rebook to your advantage

In many situations, you can refund your airline tickets or hotel booking within 24 hours of making your reservation, so it's often best to err on the side of booking first and double-check all the details later if you don't want to miss out. This is especially true for booking sites that offer significantly discounted promotions for only a limited number of reservations.

Even if you aren't in the market for a new trip right now, you may find it possible to save on your trip if you rebook any flights or hotels you've already locked in at a lower Black Friday travel deal price.

With many hotels and airlines offering flexible cancellation policies these days, it is easy to cancel and rebook in some cases if the flight you have already booked goes on sale. Some carriers, such as Southwest Airlines , even allow you to re-price a fare without going through the process of canceling and rebooking your flights.

Don't wait too long

When you find a great deal, particularly with airfare or hotel bookings, you won't want to sleep on them when they happen, as they're often in short supply, so you'll need to be ready to act when they appear.

Know your upcoming availability and travel budget so you can quickly know if a deal works for you. If you need to text eight people and wait for them to talk to their families, check their time-off schedules and ponder the trip, you could easily miss out.

Once those deals are released, you'll need to act within minutes (in some cases) to succeed in booking them, so having a general idea of where you want to go and possible dates you can travel will help make it possible to pull the trigger immediately.

Bottom line

Although Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday deals aren't all live yet, you'll want to start planning now to get the top offers.

However, you don’t have to wait until Monday and Tuesday to snag some of the lowest prices of the season. In fact, Black Friday travel deals are some of the best around, and can save you up 99% off if you play it right. You just need to know where to look.

Before booking, you should always check the travel restrictions of the country you’re traveling to or any local guidelines if you’re traveling domestically. Once you’ve got a destination in mind, you’ll be ready to start shopping some of the best Black Friday travel deals for 2021.

Save 40% Or More

Travelocity is already offering some great deals. Right now, travelers can save 40% or more on select hotels through their Cyber Week site. You can even get an additional 12% on select hotels you book through their app using the code CYBER12. The catch is you must book by Nov. 24 and travel by Jun. 30, 2022 for that deal.

The rest of the Cyber Week Travelocity deals must be booked by 11:59 p.m. CT on Nov. 30. Travel dates will vary depending on the property.

Members Get 30% Off Or More

For members of Hotels.com , you can enjoy 30% off on more than 3,500 of their properties worldwide now through Nov. 29. This deal is for travel anytime between now and Apr. 30, 2022. If you’re not a member, you can join anytime, and these discounts even include deals on cruises! When you sign up for an account, you also get Double Rewards Stamps when booking this week, so now truly is the best time.

14-Day Price Freeze On Black Friday Deals

While KAYAK doesn’t have any specific Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals, they do have tons of sales going on right now. Search their deals for fun tours and rentals in all the places you’ll be traveling to. You could even use KAYAK’s Price Freeze tool to “freeze” your flight search results to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible. This only lasts for 14 days for a small fee, but is worth it for budget-savvy travelers.

Expedia has a very similar Black Friday sale to Hotels.com. Members will get 30% off or more through Nov. 29 on select hotels and properties. The best deals will have a “Member Price” tag on them, so you’ll want to check those out when scrolling. If you sign up and book through the Expedia app, you’ll also earn an additional four times the rewards points when you book between now and Nov. 29. Those points can be used for any future travel. All travels with these deals must be completed by Apr. 30, 2022.

Up To 99% Off With Mystery Coupons

Priceline's Early Access Sale has already begun, and includes a sitewide promotion on Express Deals. If you’re a member of Priceline’s VIP program, you’ll have access to even better Express Deals in what Priceline is calling their biggest Black Friday sale ever.

Starting on Black Friday, Priceline will offer even more deals with 10% off sitewide on Express Deals and flash sales each day. If you are VIP member or email insider, you’ll also receive coupons in your inbox during the Black Friday sale. Your mystery coupon could get you 99% off on Hotel Express Deals. If you’re currently not signed up for emails, you can do so by Nov. 27 to be eligible. Other coupons could get you up to 60% off on hotels and 50% off on flights.

If you miss out, no need to worry. Once these deals end on Cyber Monday, that’s when Priceline’s Seasons of Savings begins, which will include new deals rolled out each week until Jan. 3.

Flexible Booking

Vrbo will also be offering some flexible deals on luxurious vacation homes. Since giving the gift of travel can be tricky, a number of vacation rental owners on Vrbo have relaxed their cancellation policies during this time. For some, you could even cancel up to 14 days before checking in and still receive a full refund.

Up To $750 Off

Booking between now and Nov. 30, JetBlue Vacations is offering vacation packages that’ll save you up to $750. If you’re spending over $500 traveling within Dec. 8 and Oct. 15, 2022, you can save $50 off on flight, hotel and flight, and cruise packages. For a vacation over $1,000, you’ll get $150 off, and $500 off when you spend more than $3,000. You will need to spend over $6,000 to get the $750 off, but it’s worth it if you’re planning an epic family vacay.

These deals do not include regular JetBlue flights, which will have their own deals starting Nov. 29.

Up To 10% Off Your Stay

If you’re booking through Andaz Mayakoba , Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino , Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa , and Andaz West Hollywood , you’ll receive Hyatt’s Global Cyber Monday offer, which is 10% off your stay. This is only valid if you book between now and Dec. 21 and stay anytime between now and Apr. 30, 2022.

Flights As Low As $59

Southwest has one-way flights as low as $59 to help you spend your winter “where you wanna.” You can search for super cheap fares in their Low Fare Calendar now through Nov. 25 for travel between Nov. 26 and Mar. 9, 2022. There are are some blackout days for international, Hawaii, San Juan, and Puerto Rico travel plans you should look out for.

Save Up To 30% Off

Contiki is having their Black Friday Cyber Sale right now. You can save up to 30% off trips planned for 2022 and 2023 worldwide. That includes travel from London to Rome for 30% off, and checking out an African safari for 13% off. With so many long and short dream getaways to choose from, you’ll want to book something. However, this deal ends on Nov. 30, so book soon.

Get Your Fifth Night Free With An Upgrade

Who wants to stress about every little detail of their vacation? Let someone else take care of that with an all-inclusive trip. The Hilton Cancun is offering a fifth night free when you stay at their all-inclusive resort as part of their all-inclusive Black Friday 2021 deal. Along with getting an extra day of relaxation, you’ll also get upgraded to the next room category free of charge. Think of this as a White Lotus vacation minus all the drama.

If you’d like to take advantage of this, you’ve got to get your computer ready on Nov. 26. This deal will be available Black Friday through Nov. 29, and your travel dates must be between Dec. 1, 2021 and Dec. 22, 2022.

Get 30% Off Or More

Booking.com’s Black Friday deals have already begun, and could save you 30% or more on select hotel stays. Some of the participating properties that could get you major deals include The Grove Resort and Water Park Orlando near Disney World and the Club Quarters Hotel World Trade Center in New York City. Since these deals only start at 30% off, you could be saving some major money on your stay. That just leaves extra cash for souvenirs or dining at some Insta-worthy locations.

You will need to mark your calendar for Dec. 1 at 4 a.m. ET, which is when this Black Friday sale ends. Your check-out date for your trips booked must also be on or before July 1, 2022.

This year’s Black Friday deal is available through the Marriot Bonvoy program—which was launched back in 2019 and replaced Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty brands.

Deal: For 2021, customers will be able to save 25 percent off their stay at one of Marriott’s participating resorts if they book for three nights or more.

Deal: Last year, travelers were able to save up to 75 percent at some of the continent’s prestigious lodges and hotels with travel vouchers that went on sale in early November.

4. CheapCaribbean

If hanging with elephants and zebras on an African safari are not your thing, how about a relaxing retreat picked for you by this travel company that specializes in beach vacations? Cue the beachside mojitos please.

Deal: In the past, CheapCaribbean has offered wanderlusters up to 75 percent off stays at their 600 participating properties which are located across the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

The Best Airline Deals

Booking a nice hotel and getting the best deal on a guided tour will be for naught if you end up spending a hefty penny on your flights. That’s why airlines such as JetBlue also give major discounts in honor of Black Friday.

Deal: Last year, JetBlue was not only offering up to $400 off vacation packages but perks included a $1,500 resort credit at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica or a guaranteed room upgrade at the Barcelo Aruba all-inclusive. Even Santa himself couldn’t drum up a better discount.

2. United Airlines

United Airlines may not have been offering discounts off travel packages in 2020, but they did their part in making sure travelers got some perks.

Deal: Last year, the airline was matching mileage purchases through its MileagePlus program, offering a 30 percent bonus for customers who purchased between 3,000 and 14,000 miles; 60 percent bonus if you bought between 15,000 and 34,000 miles; and a 100 percent bonus for those who bought a 35,000 or more.

3. Alaska Airlines

No, you don’t have to travel to the Last Frontier if you book a trip with Alaska Airlines (although you can if you want to). This major American airline operates a large domestic network, flying to places such as the Pacific Northwest, the West Coast and Hawaii, plus international destinations such as Belize, Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Deal: If you have always fancied a cheap trip to Vegas, perhaps 2020 would have been the year to do it since tickets to the gambling capital from anywhere on the West Coast were as low as $29 one-way. East Coasters were paying a bit more with a trip from New York to San Francisco going for $89. Still, that’s a deep discount considering that same trip costs $270 at the time of this writing.

4. Hawaiian Airlines

Another airline that was offering steep discounts for flyers, Hawaiian Airlines has yet to announce their Black Friday travel deals for 2021 but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a cheap getaway to the Aloha State this year.

Deal: In 2020, flights between Hawaii and the West Coast were as low as $198 round-trip, while flights from the East Coast were starting at $598 round-trip. Of course, nifty travelers could slash that price lower if they opted for flights with connections.

5. Qatar Airways

One of the most easily recognizable airlines, Qatar Airways is known for their A-class planes, impeccable service and killer flight attendant uniforms. That’s why we’ll definitely be keeping an ear to the ground to see if this lush airline will be offering deep discounts again this year.

Deal: Last year Qatar Airways docked 30 percent off airfares.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and now Travel Tuesday! These three days can be a traveler’s best friend or worst enemy. On on hand, there’s a ton of awesome travel deals that you’ll definitely want to jump on if you’ve been itching for a getaway or if you’re already in the process of planning a trip. However, don’t fall into the trap of buying things just to buy things. If you are still trying to save for a trip, keep those blinders on and move along. Remember budgeting for travel is all about remembering to prioritize experiences over material things.

That said, I’m sharing a roundup of all the best Black Friday travel deals in 2021 and beyond (meaning I’m updating this each year so check back!). This includes Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday deals too! No need to pay more than necessary on your next vacation, so peruse these deals and maximize your travel budget.

What’s the difference between Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Travel Tuesday?

Originally, each day had its own type of deals. Black Friday was usually an in-person madhouse with heavily discounted doorbusters. People would camp out in front of stores hoping for a score.

Cyber Monday was then distinguished from Black Friday as being the online version where online shops would have their sales. It’s the Monday following Black Friday.

Finally, Travel Tuesday is specific for travel deals and falls on the Tuesday right after Cyber Monday.

Now I think things have changed a bit. Consumerism has America in a chokehold for better or worse. Big companies and small shops will now hold sales for the entire week prior to Black Friday and ending the following week. Dates vary, but it’s really not a clear cut set of days anymore. It’s kind of just a deal frenzy.

Black Friday flight deals in 2021 and beyond

Most airline websites already have an existing page with their deals so check there on your preferred airline’s site. Here are my picks for this Black Friday flight sales.

American Airlines

AA has the most obvious flight deals right now for Black Friday. Check here for their cheap routes.

Other Airlines

As the deals roll in, especially Travel Tuesday flight deals, check back here for each airline’s deal page. If they don’t plan to offer anything special, they’ll still have their deals at these links so I’m sure you’ll find something.

• Frontier (check their new Go Wild annual flight pass …just make sure to check where they fly so you know it’s worth it)

Scott’s Cheap Flights

I look for this deal every year! Scott’s Cheap Flights is one of the absolute best services that notifies you of cheap flights and for Black Friday, they’re offering their Premium membership for only $24 per year! That’s 50% off! If you’re serious about traveling, now is the time to jump. I got my Premium membership last year heavily discounted so I highly recommend.

Premium is the way to go because often times they only share some deals with Premium members. Half my dashboard are Premium deals, so it’s really worth that price. If you book just one flight from their deals, you’ll easily save over $24!

I’ve honestly used Scott’s Cheap Flights to get heavily discount airfares to Canada and Los Angeles. I’m just waiting for another destination with the right time frame to pop up and I’ll likely be booking another trip soon!

Rather than list a bunch of hotels that may be having deals, let me share which hotel booking websites are offering travel discounts! Most are offering their deals for travel through April 2023 so read the details in the coming paragraphs carefully.

I truly love Booking.com, especially because of their easy to navigate reviews. It’s super easy to read past reviews on specific aspects of your stay like the safety of the hotel at night, the amenities, if the free breakfast is any good, etc.

Hostel World

If you’re ballin’ on a budget ( you’re in good company ), Hostel World is the absolute best place to find inexpensive, but comfortable accommodation. They have over 35,000 properties on their site spanning 178 countries!

This Black Friday, they are having a deal where you can book 30-55% off 300+ properties around the world!

Here’s the best way to find the deals:

• Head to their search engine locked and loaded with deals
• Search for your travel location and dates
• Keep an eye out for the “Seasonal Deals” at the top OR the % off sticker on the property

Here’s a sample search for New Orleans where I can see Auberge NOLA Hostel is on sale by 30% off!

For the first time ever, this year Expedia is having Black Friday travel deals through November 28. These deals are for Members only, but it’s their free rewards program so it’s super easy to sign up and no commitment. It’s not like a subscription service or anything like that, just so you have an account with them!

They have lots of deals for hotel stays, but are also offering deals on cruises! I love using Expedia to browse cruises because they compare options from a number of companies like Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney Cruise Line, Costa and more.

The last travel dates are in 6/30/2023, so if you have a pre-planned trip farther out than that, you’ll have to check elsewhere.

Another one of my favorite booking engines is Hotels.com mostly because I just love that for every 10 nights you stay, you get one free! As a budget traveler, I’ll take anything I can get.

Similar to Expedia, Hotels.com is having a member-only set of deals. Sign up for a free account if you don’t have one already to unlock the savings!

Riu Hotel and Resorts

Riu is known for their massive and incredible resorts. You may not know that Riu hotels in big cities are just as great! This Black Friday week starting on November 22, they’re offering lots of discounts with prices starting at only $59 per night!

Choose from relaxing all-inclusive resorts in tropical paradises like Cancun for $136 per night or Riviera-Nayarit Vallarta for $96 per night. Check out their properties with prime locations in Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco for $129 per night or their Time’s Square Bed and Breakfast in New York for $209 per night.

Marriott Bonvoy

I love Marriott hotels and customer service so much! We’ve stayed in one of their beautiful properties in Atlanta twice now and another in San Diego twice. They’re always reliable and high quality, but not too horribly expensive.

As much as we love to choose experiences over things, you do need some travel essentials for every trip. Black Friday week is one of the best times to jump on cheap travel essentials, so here are some picks.

Nothing is more important when you travel than the right fit! I’m talking about being stylish ( although that’s a bonus ). I mean making sure you have the right outfit for the climate and weather.

Here are some travel outfit essentials that I love that are on sale!

• Compression socks — These are a must on long flights and road trips or anywhere where you’ll be sitting for a long period of time. They help with blood circulation to prevent blood clots, which is especially important for ladies on birth control. Save a few bucks where you can. These are on sale for $6 off.
• Good walking shoes — A must. Enough said. These Adidas are on sale for Black Friday!

• Sunglasses — Ray-Bans are always a crowd favorite. They’re lightweight, stylish, and get the job done. Plus a bunch of styles are on sale for 30% off for Black Friday.
• Winter boots — I lived in the snow in Flagstaff for 4 years and unfortunately, my favorite boots are not on sale, but these dupes are! They’re comfortable and they cover your calf so you don’t need to be afraid of a foot of snow. They’re on sale for under $50!
• Pacsafe anti-pickpocket bag — This was easily my most favorite thing I brought on my solo trip to Paris . It prevents pickpocketing with a reinforced mesh and locking zippers. A game changer!

Camera Essentials

Did you even travel if you didn’t take a million photos? I think not. Here are the best camera deals on bodies, lenses, and equipment.

• Nikon base camera — I’m a Nikon user myself so I highly recommend these cameras! There are some other bodies on sale, so feel free to browse to find one that suits your needs. They don’t make my model anymore, otherwise I’d share more insight.
• Nikon zoom lens — This is definitely an investment, but on Black Friday, it’s a $400 cheaper investment.
• Tripod — An essential for any solo travelers or anyone looking to take long exposure shots. Why balance your camera on a rock if you don’t have to! This tripod comes highly recommended and is on sale for $80, usually $100.
• Go Pro — If you’ve been eyeballing a GoPro, now is your moment. I would love to get one of these one day! They’re on sale for $350 instead of $550… cha-ching!

Packing Essentials

Here are the best packing essentials deals this year.

• Luggage scale — No more fussing at the check-in counter when your bag is overweight or trying to weigh your bag at home on a regular scale. This is seriously so much easier and could save you overweight baggage fees. It’s on sale for $9 instead of $15.
• Packing cubes — They always come in handy to keep everything neatly organized in your suitcase. This set has 7 pieces and toiletry bags on sale for only $19.99! A steal!
• Osprey backpack — These backpacks are the epitome of European backpacking trips. You have to try them! They are recommended very highly and thankfully are on sale for only $150 instead of $200.
• Travel jewelry organizer — These things changed my life! It’s so much easier to pack your jewelry in one of these so nothing gets tangled or you don’t have a rogue earring that goes swimming in your suitcase.

The Best Black Friday Flight Deals 2021

It’s that time of year when it seems like every company under the sun is having some sort of sale. For travelers, this means you may be able to find a great Black Friday deal on a flight to somewhere new in 2022. While the best airfare deals are unpredictable and can happen at any time of the year, there are a few advertised Black Friday sales worth mentioning this year.

To help cut through the clutter, we’ll give a summary of some of the most relevant Black Friday flight deals along with our take on whether these sales are somewhat normal or are truly extraordinary. We’ll also provide a few examples of the best deals that fall within each sale.

Black Friday Flight Deals for 2021

The flag carrier of Ireland is discounting flights to the Emerald Isle and beyond with its Black Friday deals. Take up to $100 off roundtrip Economy tickets or $200 off roundtrip Business Class fares to Ireland and the rest of Europe from select cities in the Midwest and on the East Coast. And flights from West Coast cities Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle get $200 off Economy and $300 off Business Class.

The discount will be reflected in normal search results for travel dates between January 1 – May 31, 2021. Many routes reflect typical sale fares from Aer Lingus but you may find some great deals for a St. Patrick’s Day trip to Ireland. Some of the most notable fares include:

• San Francisco to Dublin $386 roundtrip, nonstop
• Boston to Shannon $403 roundtrip, nonstop
• New York to Naples $476 roundtrip

Sale expires: Tuesday, November 30, at 6:59 pm ET

Save up to 20% on flights to Canada and other international destinations in South America, Asia, Australia, and “sun” destinations (Mexico, Caribbean, etc.) when flying Air Canada . No promo code is necessary for sale fares, which you can find for travel through June 30, 2022, with blackout dates Dec. 16, 2021 – Jan. 6, 2022, and Feb. 26 – Mar. 20. Aeroplan members can also earn a minimum of 1,000 bonus points by entering promo code 20MILLION when booking eligible fares.

This sale is nothing too out of the ordinary for Air Canada. Last year, we did see a pretty stellar deal come out on Cyber Monday though, so be sure to check back for our post on Monday. Nonetheless, some of the best deals in this sale include:

• Washington D.C. to Vancouver $322 roundtrip
• Toronto to Buenos Aires $815 CAD roundtrip ($642 USD)
• Seattle to Montreal $341 roundtrip

Alaska Airlines

For Black Friday, Alaska Airlines is having one of its better sales with fares starting from $29 one-way. Most sale fares are valid for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, between January 5 – March 9, 2022. Certain routes will have different restrictions. Some highlights include:

• Seattle to Portland $57 roundtrip, nonstop
• San Francisco to New York $177 roundtrip, nonstop
• Boston to San Diego $197 roundtrip, nonstop

Allegiant has reduced fares up to 40% off all routes for Black Friday. The travel period varies due to the majority of routes being seasonal. Allegiant’s fares are normally quite low and the schedule is limited, but if you can make it work, these fares are hard to beat. A few examples of what you can book include:

• Houston to Asheville $66 roundtrip, nonstop
• Spokane to Las Vegas $66 roundtrip, nonstop
• Nashville to Bozeman $82 roundtrip, nonstop

American Airlines

On the surface, American’s Black Friday fare sale doesn’t really seem like anything out of the ordinary. The airline is simply listing several routes with either one-way or roundtrip fares under $100 . Don’t get me wrong, these are super cheap flights, but are also quite typical for these particular routes.

However, the fact that American basically eliminated Basic Economy fares for domestic travel during the course of the pandemic means these Main Cabin fares are much better than what the competition offers. The travel period varies by route but the lowest fares are mostly for December/January travel, excluding holidays. A few examples include: (prices are for Main Cabin fares which include carry-on bag, seat selection, and no change fees)

• Philadelphia to Ft. Lauderdale $97 roundtrip, nonstop
• Chicago to Miami $97 roundtrip, nonstop
• New York to Los Angeles $187 roundtrip, nonstop

Bonus: You can also save up to 45% off when purchasing AAdvantage miles. Buying miles is almost always a bad deal but if you just need to top off your balance for an immediate use redemption, this sale could save you some money.

Avelo Airlines

Take 30% off roundtrip flights on Avelo Airlines for Black Friday. This is a one-day sale so you must book today for travel between December 1 – 31, 2021. To receive the discount, just enter promo code BLACKFRIDAY when booking eligible dates on aveloair.com . The best thing about this sale is that there are no blackout dates so you can even save on Christmas flights.

The discount reduces fares as low as $50 roundtrip for certain routes. Of course, travel around the holidays will generally be more expensive but you can likely find a great last-minute deal for the holidays with this sale if the limited route network and schedule works for you. A few ideas include:

• Tucson to Burbank $50 roundtrip, nonstop
• Burbank to Arcata $64 roundtrip, nonstop
• New Haven to Ft. Lauderdale $78 roundtrip, nonstop

Avianca is changing the color scheme with its Red Friday sale . Flights from the U.S. to Latin America start from just $35 one-way. Super deals are plentiful for travel from mid-January onward. Avianca is also discounting baggage fees and upgrades but beware that the percentages advertised may be deceiving since it’s compared to airport rates. A few airfare examples include:

• Houston to San Salvador $110 roundtrip, nonstop
• Miami to Medellin $118 roundtrip, nonstop
• New York to Bogota $210 roundtrip, nonstop

Sale expires: Monday, November 29

Breeze Airways

One of the newest U.S. airlines is having a “Nicer” sale than most for Black Friday. So nice, in fact, that Breeze Airways is offering its upgraded “Nicer” fare for only $19 extra compared to the standard “Nice” fare. This means you’ll be able to sit in an extra legroom seat, bring a normal-sized carry-on bag, check one bag, board the plane first, and enjoy a drink and snack onboard for just $19 more than the equivalent of Breeze Airways’ basic economy fare which only includes a personal item. In all, this represents an $80 value.

There are no blackout dates so this upgrade can be purchased for any flight through the end of Breeze’s current booking schedule, May 2, 2022.  The lowest “Nice” fares currently on offer are $39 one-way, which means you can book a “Nicer” fare for $58 on most routes within the network. Don’t wait! This is a one-day sale so you must book today! A few examples include: (fares include baggage and extra legroom seats)

• Oklahoma City to Tampa $116 roundtrip, nonstop (Nicer)
• Pittsburgh to Charleston $116 roundtrip, nonstop (Nicer)

British Airways

Travelers originating in the UK can book 20,000 seats to the USA for £299 return (~$398). This could benefit U.S. travelers if you want to take multiple trips to London by nesting a roundtrip flight starting in the UK between the outbound and inbound flight of a roundtrip flight originating in the U.S.

For travel originating in the U.S., rather than a fare sale, British Airways is discounting vacation packages for Black Friday. Save up to $500 based on a tiered system.

• Save $50 when you spend at least $1,000
• Save $100 when you spend at least $2,000
• Save $250 when you spend at least $4,000
• Save $500 when you spend at least $6,000

British Airways does offer some decently priced vacation packages so if you prefer to book everything together, you can save some money with this deal. Flights from New York to London including 5 nights hotel start from $631 per person based on two people traveling, double occupancy.

Cathay Pacific

Although the airline dubs this sale as its “ biggest sale of the year ”, the advertised fares are a bit higher than we’ve seen in past years’ sales where Cathay Pacific has typically shined with some amazing Black Friday deals. This year, fares start from $728 roundtrip to destinations throughout Asia for departures between January 1 – May 23, or August 15 – October 29, 2022.

While a few destinations in Asia are currently open to U.S. travelers, you’ll want to research entry requirements for specifics. A few sample fares from this sale include:

• Los Angeles to Manila $728 roundtrip
• San Francisco to Jakarta $1,409 roundtrip in Premium Economy
• Los Angeles to Singapore $3,046 roundtrip in Business Class

Copa Airlines

Copa has special sale fares to Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Peru for Copa Blue Week . Travel from February 1 – May 15, 2022. These special fares are only available for roundtrip travel and do not apply to multi-city itineraries. You’ll find the best deals from West Coast cities such as San Francisco where fares start from just $308 roundtrip. A few sample fares include:

• San Francisco to San Jose, Costa Rica $308 roundtrip
• Chicago to Barranquilla $387 roundtrip
• Washington D.C. to Lima $394 roundtrip

Have Delta SkyMiles? Now might be a great time to unload them to book a flight for 2022. While SkyMiles often get a bad rep for being worthless in regards to redeeming for international Business Class tickets due to dynamic pricing, there are sometimes incredible flash sales for economy and Premium Economy tickets where you can get a really good value.

Delta’s Season of the Adventure Deals are valid for domestic travel January 10 – February 28; Latin America and Caribbean travel January 5 – February 28; and Premium Select European travel now through May 6, 2022. Domestic travel has blackout dates Jan. 14, 17, Feb. 17, 18, and 21. Some of the best deals include:

• Seattle to Los Cabos 8,000 miles roundtrip, nonstop (+$109 taxes/fees)
• Minneapolis to Phoenix 9,000 miles roundtrip, nonstop (+$12 taxes/fees)
• Denver to Rome 90,000 miles roundtrip in Premium Select (+$74 taxes/fees)

One of the world’s best reviewed airlines has featured fares for Black Friday to destinations in the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, as well as its fifth freedom routes between the U.S. and Europe. Flights start from $599 in Economy or you can fly fancy in Emirates ’ Business Class from $2,769. Travel between January 11 – April 30, 2022. A few highlights include:

• Houston to Malé, Maldives $889 roundtrip
• Newark to Athens $2,769 roundtrip, nonstop in Business Class
• Seattle to Cairo $2,869 roundtrip in Business Class

Etihad is selling some pretty stellar Black Friday deals in both Economy and Business Class for travel throughout the world. Especially exciting are the fares to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Travel between January 17 – May 19, 2022. Some examples include:

• Chicago to Malé $715 roundtrip
• New York to Colombo $735 roundtrip
• Washington D.C. to Malé $745 roundtrip

Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways is welcoming back US travelers with a Black Friday sale to entice visitors to the laid-back island nation. Fully vaccinated Americans can enter Fiji starting December 1, 2021, and this sale includes travel dates through October 31, 2022. You can also save on flights to other Pacific Islands, Australia, and New Zealand. While Australia hasn’t announced any reopening plans for international visitors, New Zealand plans to reopen its borders to vaccinated travelers on April 30, 2021.

The best part about this sale is that these prices are available on widespread travel dates so you’ll likely be able to find the sale fares on your preferred dates of travel if you book now. Sale fares include:

• Los Angeles to Nadi, Fiji $799 roundtrip, nonstop
• San Francisco to Nadi, Fiji $749 roundtrip, nonstop
• Honolulu to Nadi, Fiji $649 roundtrip, nonstop

Flair Airlines

After rapid expansion during the past year, Flair Airlines has really shaken up fares in key Canada/US leisure markets. For Black Friday, the ultra-low-cost carrier is having a promo code sale with 30% off base fares on all US routes. Travel between December 1, 2021 – February 28, 2022, with blackout dates Dec. 15 – Jan. 7.

To get the discount, enter promo code BLACKFRIDAY when booking on flairair.com. Discounted fares include:

• Burbank to Vancouver $110 USD roundtrip, nonstop
• Toronto to Palm Springs $202 CAD roundtrip, nonstop ($160 USD)
• Montreal to Ft. Lauderdale $211 CAD roundtrip, nonstop ($167 USD)

Frontier Airlines

Take up to 80% off the base fare for your next domestic flight on Frontier with its Black Friday flight deals promo code sale . Simply enter promo code HOLIDAYS when booking on flyfrontier.com to receive a discount for travel through March 9, 2022. Blackout dates apply Dec. 16 – Jan. 5, and Feb. 18-22 for all routes with additional blackouts to/from St. Thomas and San Juan Jan. 6-11.

An 80% discount will be applied to nonstop domestic travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For nonstop and connecting flights Mondays through Thursdays, and Saturdays, a 50% discount will apply. Certain markets to Florida, Vegas, Puerto Rico, and other southern cities have different days of the week eligible depending on direction of travel. The discount will not apply to Frontier’s online booking fee, which often makes up the bulk of its already low fares so don’t expect the price to drop too much. But, any savings can help. Some of the best deals include:

• Charlotte to Denver $84 roundtrip, nonstop
• Las Vegas to Miami $84 roundtrip, nonstop
• Denver to Washington D.C. $88 roundtrip, nonstop

Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian Airlines is getting into the holiday spirit with $79-89 one-way fares to Hawaii from a few West Coast cities and $99 flights from several more. East Coast flights to Hawaii start from $199 one-way. Exact travel dates vary by route but these prices are generally available between early January and early March. A few examples include:

• San Francisco to Maui $158 roundtrip, nonstop
• Long Beach to Honolulu $198 roundtrip, nonstop
• Boston to Honolulu $399 roundtrip, nonstop

Sale expires: No expiration date listed (prices could change at any time)

Iberia ’s Black Friday sale from the US includes some advertised fares to secondary cities in Spain such as Seville, A Coruña, and Gran Canaria. However, the prices listed don’t seem to be entirely accurate. Some routes are more expensive while others will actually be lower than advertised. Fares start from $435 roundtrip for travel between January 15 – March 31, 2022. A few examples include:

• New York to Madrid $435 roundtrip, nonstop
• Los Angeles to Madrid $444 roundtrip, nonstop
• Miami to Seville $531 roundtrip

Bonus: The better Black Friday sale on Iberia is for flights within Europe where fares start from just €20 one-way for travel between January 11 – June 9, 2022. Perfect for hopping around Europe after you’ve found a great deal across the pond to Spain.

Stopping off in Iceland for a few days on your way to or from Europe is a great way to break up the flight across the Atlantic. Best of all, Icelandair offers free stopovers so you can take advantage of its Black Friday flight sale to book a 2-for-1 adventure next year. Travel between January 10 – May 14, 2022. Some samples include:

• Orlando to Copenhagen $397 roundtrip
• Boston to Amsterdam $414 roundtrip
• Denver to Paris $427 roundtrip

Similar to British Airways, JetBlue ’s Black Friday sale features tiered savings for vacation packages where you can save up to $750 . You’ll need to enter the appropriate promo code when booking on jetbluevacations.com to receive the discount for travel between December 8, 2021 – October 15, 2022. Use the following promo codes to save:

• Use promo code BUNDLE50 for $50 off when you spend $500+
• Use promo code BUNDLE150 for $150 off when you spend $1,000+

During #BlackFridayLATAM , you’ll find sale fares to Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru up to 50% off for flights on LATAM between March and May 2022. Earlier this year, Level entered an interline agreement with regional low-cost carrier Vueling. This allows Level to sell tickets to more destinations in Europe via connecting flights, which makes for a longer list of deals in its Black Flydays sale . Nonstop flights to Barcelona start from $349 roundtrip for travel through October 2022. Some of the best fares from this sale include:

LOT Polish Airlines

Since the discount only applies to the “base fare” and not to taxes/fees, you’ll only see it knock a few dollars off the lowest fares. However, you’ll see more savings when booking Economy Standard fares or more expensive routes. Some examples of what you can book include:

Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian)

Take up to $100 off your next Lufthansa Group flight by using the appropriate promo code.

First, select flights from any US gateway to Europe, Africa, Middle East, or Asia. On the payment page, you’ll need to click on “Get a discount on your fare” below the total on the right-hand side of the page and enter the promo code to receive the discount.

The promo code is valid for flights operated by Lufthansa , SWISS , Austrian Airlines , Brussels Airlines , or United through November 22, 2022. It will only discount the “base fare” and will not lower any fuel surcharges or taxes so you may see a lower discount than expected since hefty fuel surcharges can sometimes make up the bulk of a fare. Nonetheless, $100 off is always welcome and can allow you to fly across the pond for a bargain, such as:

If you don’t want to spring for the pointy end of the plane, Economy Class fares start from $625. Travel between January 11 – May 14, 2022. And you can also save up to 50% off extra baggage. A few highlights include:

Scandinavian Airlines SAS

Flights to several destinations in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe are heavily discounted for travel between January 10 – March 31, 2022, with the latest campaign from SAS . Nonstop flights to Scandinavia start from $397 roundtrip and you can find connecting flights elsewhere in Europe for even less.

Some routes may require overnight stops in Copenhagen or Stockholm on the return, which can be a great way to see two cities on the same trip while saving big on airfare. A few of the incredible deals include:

Singapore Airlines

Flying Singapore Airlines is one of the best experiences in the air and the airline is having some superb Black Friday specials for travel to destinations in Asia and its fifth freedom routes between the U.S. and Europe. Fares start from $549 roundtrip in Economy, $849 in Premium Economy, and $1,999 in Business Class. A few of the best deals include:

• Houston to Bangkok $649 roundtrip
• Los Angeles to Phuket $649 roundtrip
• New York to Frankfurt $1,999 roundtrip, nonstop in Business Class

Spirit Airlines

The airline everyone loves to hate has dropped fares to just $20.22 one-way on over 200 routes for Black (and Yellow) Friday . Travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, between January 6 – March 5, 2022. This is about as low as airfares can get — even for Spirit . You’re basically only paying mandatory taxes and fees for these flights.

Sure, if you want to bring any large bags, it will cost more than the flight itself. But if you can pack super light, you can get away for just $41 roundtrip, such as:

• Philadelphia to Las Vegas $41 roundtrip, nonstop
• Columbus to Orlando $41 roundtrip, nonstop

Apparently, the day after this celebration, that is, the Friday of the fourth week of November, the traffic of vehicles and people in Philadelphia reached such a density that it crammed the streets. Police officers who were in charge of regulating traffic began to coin it as Black Friday around 1961. In 1966 it reached some popularity, but it was in 1975 that it spread to the rest of the states.

Another theory regarding the name of this day is about business accounts, which at the beginning of the Christmas season went from the red to the black numbers with the increase in sales.

Although it is not a holiday, many companies consider it as such. By giving their staff the day off, the total number of potential buyers multiplies. Consequently, the sales figures increase significantly! Since 2005,  Black Friday is always the day of the year with the highest sales volume, not only in retail companies but in all kinds of sectors, including tourism, where Black Friday travel deals incentivize customers to book their vacations for the next year.

In addition, to take advantage of the shopping craze, the following Monday has been dubbed Cyber Monday , another occasion to enjoy great discounts.

Dyson stick vacuum sales have become a fixture during the Black Friday window, with discounts from major retailers like The Home Depot, Target, and Best Buy in addition to price drops from Dyson itself. However, this year, we’re seeing fewer deals at worse prices than in previous years, likely a byproduct of ongoing supply chain issues. We’ve also found some price drops on the much sought-after Dyson AirWrap while scanning, but our expert writers don’t think the high-end styling tool offers enough versus cheaper versions to be worth it, even at the $450 pricing we’ve noted.

iRobot Roomba i1+ Robot Vacuum Deal price: $350 ; street price: $580 Read our review of the best robot vacuums .

If you've had your eye on our upgrade robot vacuum pick, the iRobot Roomba i3+, this is a nice opportunity to save on a comparable self-emptying model that's exclusive to Walmart. It isn't as quick or clever or controllable as our upgrade pick from Roomba competitor Roborock, but it still works well in bigger homes and is otherwise simpler, more durable, and better at cleaning most rugs. Matching the previous lowest price, this is a nice deal for the Amazon Echo 4th Gen, our top pick for best Alexa smart speaker. It's slightly larger (and a different shape) than the original Echo, but the larger, spherical size allows for a better speaker with a big volume boost and improved soundstage.

Friends, music lovers, podcast listeners, lend us your (ultimate) ears: The UE Wonderboom 2, our top portable Bluetooth speaker pick, is back down to $80. We’ve yet to see any dramatic drops on new TVs, but we have noted a few passable deals from several retailers—most of them on older, high-end OLED models. They offer little substance overall. They’re usually more cheaply made and more likely to become obsolete.

Peloton Bike+ : Usually nearly $2500, the upgraded version of Peloton's bike is down to $2145 as part of its holiday promotions. While this is a solid price drop, we don't think it quite rises to the level of a deal. The standard Bike is $1500 after a permanent price drop in late August, still over $600 less than the "deal" price of the Bike+. Our guide writers think that most users don’t need the upgrade , but if you’re prone to FOMO, the Bike+ discount could be worth your while. Versus its cheaper sibling, the Bike+ offers a larger, rotating touchscreen which allows for off-bike workouts, enhanced sound, and an Auto Follow feature that automatically adjusts the resistance based on your instructor’s directives.

Lenovo : Although Lenovo is also in the early Black Friday mix, we’ve yet to find discounts that have met our price expectations from the company. We’ll continue to monitor its offers for worthwhile deals as they arise.

Dell : The maker of our top Windows Ultrabook is hosting its own cyber sale, promising limited-quantity deals as well as competitive Black Friday pricing. We have yet to see any standouts so far, but we will continue to keep an eye on the situation.

Nothing beats an oven baked pizza, and if you enjoy the hint of smokiness that comes with wood burning, the Ooni Fyra is an excellent choice. Smaller and lighter than our top pick, the Fyra is able to get equally as hot, and uses wood pellets instead of propane. Though easier to move around, we did find that the smaller size does make it a bit tougher to maneuver the pizza, and that it’s normal for flames to shoot out the back of the firebox when you remove the door to launch or rotate the pizza. Multiple retailers are promising Black Friday appliance savings this year. Appliances have gone up in price during the pandemic, so expect prices to remain comparatively high even after discounts or gift cards. Here’s what we’re seeing so far.

Best Buy : The electronics-focused retailer also sells appliances and is promising a $100 or $200 eGift card with the purchase of select appliance packages.

The Home Depot : Home Depot is purporting savings of “up to $750” on appliances thru December 1. The savings start at $50 with the purchase of two qualifying appliances and increase incrementally up to $750—which requires the purchase of six appliances. 

Lowe’s : Lowe’s is offering a similar promotion to The Home Depot, with up to $750 off the purchase of multiple qualifying appliances.

Will there be any Black Friday deals on PS5, Xbox Series X, or Nintendo Switch?

Unfortunately, we don't expect to see any discounts on the PS5 this holiday season, mainly because even finding the highly-coveted gaming console has proven to be a struggle for many. Limited inventory means any existing stock will sell fast, as it did during Walmart's Black Friday PS5 restock event . Even so, we've pulled together some tips to employ on how to score a PS5 this holiday season.

The Nintendo Switch is more readily available than the PS5 and Xbox Series X this holiday season, but we still don’t expect to see traditional discounts for the console. Nintendo’s own sale launched November 21 and included a bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, plus a three-month individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online. That deal—and similar bundles—are likely the best we’ll see this year .

Amazon Prime Day has grown into one of the biggest sales events of the year, with discounts rivaling those of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. With so many retailers selling on Amazon, Prime members can save on just about anything, from viral beauty products to new unlocked smartphones.

The best Prime Day deals we saw last year included all-time lows on brands like Apple, Vitamix, iRobot, Dyson, Crocs, and, of course, Amazon-owned products like the Fire TV , Kindle e-reader , and Echo smart speakers . We expect to see more of the same this year as well.

It'll be the first major deal holiday of the year, so it's an awesome chance to score summer discounts on big-ticket items and household staples. The retailer's 10th Prime Day event has officially been announced to arrive in July, but the actual days are still unknown. In the meantime, we're keeping tabs on all of the latest Prime Day news, and we'll keep you updated with our findings here.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?

Amazon Prime Day is officially coming this July, though the exact days have not yet been announced. In past years, it kicked off on the second Tuesday of the month. If Amazon follows the same trend, it will take place on July 9 and 10. We'll keep this story updated as more details are announced.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is the retailer's annual mega sale and one of the major benefits of Prime membership. It's a two-day sales event, usually during the summer, that features products from every category, from fashion staples to hot new tech. 

Though it used to be a deal holiday of a much smaller scale, Prime Day has grown exponentially since the first one in 2015. Now, you can find almost everything on sale for all-time low prices, matching discounts we see during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. 

What should I buy during Amazon Prime Day?

Everything is fair game to buy during Amazon Prime Day. Whether you've been holding out on a pricey new TV or just need to stock up on toiletries, Prime Day is a good time to make your move. 

Last year, we saw incredible prices on tech, including 4K TVs , Fire TV streaming devices , Apple products, Kindle e-readers , PC gaming accessories, Echo smart speakers , and top headphones picks. Prime Day tech deals featured brands like Logitech, Bose, Jabra, Sony, Roku, Samsung, TCL, and more. 

If you're looking for style and beauty deals during Prime Day, last year, brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Tatcha, Laneige, Levi's, Carhartt, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Adidas, and Marc Jacobs all featured products at rare low prices. That means skincare, makeup, shoes, men's clothing, women's fashion, and accessories will all be available for less. 

Home and kitchen products saw no shortage of Prime Day deals either, with big names like Dyson, Shark, iRobot, Philips, KitchenAid, Nespresso, Casper, Leesa, and OXO down to all-time lows for the event. So, whether you need an air fryer , robot vacuum , mattress , or just some sturdy mixing bowls, Prime Day is a good time to buy. 

You don't need to be focused on fancy new gadgets or treatments to shop smart during Amazon Prime Day either. We also catch tons of affordable household essentials available for even less every year, like toilet paper, dish soap, doggy bags, and makeup wipes. These deals are sweet, since they save you money on stuff you needed to buy anyway. 

How long do Prime Day deals last?

How long a Prime Day deal lasts differs between items, but in general, the best discounts will start during the event and end before the 48-hour holiday is over. Some will last the whole two days while others will only last one, so it's always wise to act on a good sale when you see it. Lightning deals especially go fast, the most popular of which dwindle away in less than an hour.

I always recommend buying a product you've had your eye on as soon as it's highlighted as a Prime Day deal. Regardless of how long it's set to last, oftentimes the best sales run out of stock, resulting in shipping dates being pushed out, or the deal no longer being offered at all. Do you need to be a Prime member to shop Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is locked to Prime members only. It's one of the major benefits of subscribing to the service, in addition to other perks like free two-day shipping and Prime Video streaming. 

If you have yet to become a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to test it out. Once the official Prime Day dates have been announced, you can even time your free period to overlap with the sale, but it's not a guarantee since sometimes retailers will lock out free members from shopping the best deals.

Do other stores participate in Prime Day?

Although Prime Day is an Amazon-specific event, it's grown so large that other major retailers have started kicking off competing sales to overlap with it. No one has announced a competing Prime Day sale just yet, but if past years are any indication, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy will likely be holding their own events.
