Here are the Minimum Requirements for 35-Inch Tires

The 35-inch tires are larger and will offer more ground clearance compared to the 33-inch type. These tires are huge and will work more effectively when fitted in large SUVs and trucks as opposed to smaller cars. 

Unlike when you are installing 33-inch tires, the lift required for the 35-inch tires is pretty high. The best approach is to upgrade the suspension by a minimum of 3.5 inches. 

Again, the installation will depend on the vehicle design. If the vehicle uses SFA, the installation will be straightforward, but it’s going to be more complex if it uses IFS. 

The most important requirements for installing the 35-inch tires include fender trimming and re-engineering the differentials. You might also require changing the rims and removing the crash bars. 

Unless you are a mechanic, this is a procedure we would not recommend doing on your own. Get a professional to assist with the process for better results. 

Fitting 33-Inch Tires in Different Cars

The process of installing the two tires is the same, but using 35-inch will require more lifting than the 33-inch type. So, let’s look at the installation process on different cars. We will take the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Ranger.

Finally, install 20+ offset wheels, and that should be enough to take the 33-inch wheels. This minimal work will offer you the targeted lift, but it is not strong enough and is recommended for aesthetic and limited off-road driving purposes only. 

For extreme off-road driving enthusiasts, additional work will be required. Particularly, you should install stronger suspension and bigger spacers to prevent the wheel from rubbing the spindle. Your mechanic might also recommend a wheel with a higher negative offset. 

Jeep Wrangler

Next is the Jeep Wrangler. Unlike the Ford Ranger, the Wrangler has ample space, and installing 33-inch tires is a lot simpler. So, let’s check the required modifications.

However, these tires work best for larger SUVs and trucks and might not be recommended for smaller 4WD cars. 

When it comes to the 33-inch tires, they are what most people consider the “perfect” pick for most 4X4 cars. These tires provide excellent traction and aesthetics for your vehicle. However, they are considered the best for regular as opposed to extreme off-roading. 

For example, if you fancy going out camping or game driving on rough trails, the 33-inch tires will be excellent. However, this means that it might be impossible to get the thrill that comes with extreme activities, such as rock crawling. 

Is there much of a difference between 33″ and 35″ tires? 

When you fit 35-inch tires, you get one-inch clearance at the axle compared to fitting the 33-inch tires. This can be very important, especially when going off-road because it can define the difference between getting hung up and hitting rocks that can damage your diff. Look at the drive train alongside the tire sizes when working on lifting a car. 

Are the 35-inch tires worth the cost and time?

This largely depends on why you want to upgrade. For a person who loves extreme off-roading, the 35-inch tires offer more ground clearance and are crucial for him. 

Again, most people consider small tires to be out of place and weird, especially when using a vehicle such as a Jeep Wrangler, Volkswagen Amok, Ford Ranger, or Chevy trucks. 

We must also say that smaller tires are not to be trusted when driving through rough terrain, wet surface, or frozen ground. So, upgrading to 35-inch tires is worth it. 

How much impact do 35-inch tires have on gas mileage? 

You can expect about 1-2 MPG difference after upgrading to the 35-inch tires. However, this also depends on other factors, including the adjustments and new accessories added to the vehicle.

How much lift is required to install 33-inch tires on my truck? 

If you have an IFS (independent front suspension) truck, a minimum of 2.5-3-inch lift with additional trimming of fenders will be required. But if your car has a Solid Front Axle (SFA), it will accommodate a 33-inch tire more easily with fewer modifications.

33s mean the tire is 33 inches in diameter. Tire size is usually illustrated through millimeter size and aspect ratio. But when someone says they have a 33 inch tire on their vehicle, what they really are saying is that the tire is that tire is 33 inches in diameter.

‍ Tire Sizes

Tire size is a pretty complicated subject since there are so many numbers involved. But once you get the gist of tire sizing, it becomes pretty easy to understand.

There are two ways to measure tires. The first measuring method is metric and the second method is floatation. Metric tire sizes start with the numbers in millimeters and there are four different categories of metric tire sizes: Passenger (P), Light Truck (LT), Special Trailer (ST), and Temporary (T).

The class of tire is usually imprinted on the tire before the tire size. For example, LT285/75/16. The first number on the tire size is the section width of a tire. This is a measurement of the width of the tire, basically from the sidewall to the sidewall.

The next number in a tire size is a percentage and is the percentage of the width of the tire. It’s a number that’s used to determine the height of the tire’s sidewall. And the last number is the tire diameter or the size of the wheel. The wheel diameter is usually separated by an “R”, meaning the tire is “radial ply” in comparison with bias ply.

Radial tires are the most common type of tire on the market today. Light truck tires have additional plies of woven nylon steel. These additional layers or plies construct what is known as the carcass of the tires. The more plies a tire has the stronger a tire is and has more capacity to hold a higher air pressure.

Now with metric sizes out of the way, let’s look at what flotation sizes are. Flotation sizes directly relate to the tire’s size in inches. The first number in flotation sizes is the height of the tires in inches, the second number is the width of the tire in inches, and the third number is the wheel size or the rim diameter.

For example, if you have a 35 inch by 12.50, 17. This means the height of the tire is 35 inches, 12 and a half inches wide, and fits a 17 inch wheel. So when someone says they have 33 inch tires they are referring to flotation sizes.

What Are 33’s

When someone says they have 33’s, they are referring to the overall diameter of the tire. This means the rim diameter plus the width of a sidewall. In flotation sizes, this is measured in inches compared to metric which is measured in millimeters and percentages.

Flotation sizes and their accepted metric equivalent size can be confusing but both numbers should be stamped into the sidewall of a tire. In tire shops, the more modern custom is to use metric sizes.

But metric sizes don’t take into account the actual diameter of the tire. They just give the percentage of the tread width which can be confusing. Both measurement systems do take the rim diameters into account. But metric size tires go about it in a more abstract way.

So when someone says they have 33’s, it’s not exactly clear as to what that means because 33’s can fit onto a number of different wheel sizes. For example, 33’s can fit onto a 16, 17, 18, or a 19 inch rim. This changes the sidewall height, but does not change the overall tire height.

The metric system would measure each of these tires differently as well.  For example, the percentage of the sidewall height would decrease as the width of the rim increases.

When someone says they have 33 inch tires on their vehicle, it’s basically saying they have 75% of 285mm’s on their vehicle. It’s just that 33’s are easier to compute. So 33’s come in many different forms.

Listing out all the possible sizes of 33’s would be endless since there are so many factors to take into account such as wheel rim surface, rim width, whether the vehicle has a lift kit,  and radial construction of the tire.

But one thing you can be sure of is that 33’s belong on light trucks. The 33 inch tire is usually not found on 4 door sedans. They are most commonly used on off road vehicles such as SUVs and trucks. These tires are built to handle rough terrains.

If you are unsure of what size tire to get for your vehicle you can usually find the information in your vehicle’s owner manual. Or you can get the size of the tire information from the tires that are currently placed on your tires.

Speed Ratings

Tire speed ratings are ratings for your tire that recommend the max speed of a tire. All tires are meant to go the same speed as each other. If you exceed the speed rating on some tires, you risk the chance of tire deterioration and blowouts.

Tire speed ratings refer to the maximum speed rating a tire can go. Tire speed ratings are usually displayed on the side of a tire in the form of a letter such as “S” or “H”. This number is stamped into the sidewall of a tire.

Tire speed rating is figured out by the manufacturer through a series of tests. The tests put the tires through different stressors and see how well the tire holds up under that speed. If the tire starts to fail while going above a certain speed rating, its rating is dropped down.

The “S” in a 33S tire means that the tire’s speed rating is 112 mph. This means that a 33 inch tire can reach up to 112 miles per hour without failing. That’s pretty fast for a large tire but these tires are constructed with extra plies so the speed rating should not shock you.

This doesn’t mean the tire will automatically fail if you go above 112 mph. It just means that it’s recommended you don’t go above that speed rating for long periods of time while driving on that tire.

33 tours, 45 tours, ep, 12 pouces, lp, single ....

Vous faites vos débuts dans l'univers du vinyle et vous éprouvez des difficultés à comprendre à quoi ces dénominations font référence. Cet article est pour vous.

Formats les plus fréquents :

Vinyle 33 tours (33rpm) = 12 pouces (inch) = album = LP = diamètre 30 cm

Vinyle 45 tours (45rpm) = 7 pouces (inch) = SP = diamètre 17,8 cm

Globalement :

Dans une pochette de 30 cm, vous trouverez :.

le plus souvent un album 33 tours ou LP, avec des faces durant 20 à 30 minutes chacune.

parfois un maxi 45 tours ou maxi single ou EP avec un titre sur chaque face d’une durée de 10 à 12 minutes.

Dans une pochette de 17 -18 centimètres, vous trouverez un 45 tours :

le plus souvent un SP ou Single avec un titre par face.

plus rarement un Super 45 tours ou EP avec 2 titres par face.

Plusieurs lexiques se superposent et brouillent les pistes.

Les appellations en pouces indiquent les dimensions :

• 7 pouces désigne un vinyle au diamètre de 17,78 centimètres.
• 10 pouces désigne un vinyle au diamètre de 25,4 centimètres.
• 12 pouces désigne un vinyle au diamètre de 30,48 centimètres.

Les appellations en tours indiquent la vitesse de rotation :

33 tours ou 33 rpm* :.

*tours = rpm en anglais = revolution per minute

Quelques spécificités des 33 tours :

• Les gatefold albums sont des albums dont la pochette s’ouvre en deux comme un livre. Il existe aussi des doubles, des triples albums et des coffrets.

Quelques exceptions

45 tours ou 45 rpm* :.

• S’ils sont de petite taille 7 pouces ou 17,8 cm, ils présentent un gros trou au milieu car ils ont été initialement créés pour les Juke-Box. La plage d’écoute est d’environ 5 à 6 minutes. On distingue :

Le single ou SP « Single Play » car il contient un titre par face, en format  7 pouces - 17,8 cm.

Le Super 45 tours avec 2 titres par face soit 4 ou 5 titres au total, en format 7 pouces - 17,8 cm est un vinyle moins fréquent de nos jours.

Generally, a record played at 33 rpm will be larger than a record intended to be played at 45 rpm. A record played at 33 rpm will tend to be around 12 inches, in fact. This harkens back to the early days of vinyl technology when Columbia Records began selling these larger discs under the pretext that they could hold significantly more music than any other existing disc at the time, including a whole range of vinyl record types .

This tradition continues to this day, where the dichotomy of 33 vs 45 vinyl comes to symbolize the parallel dichotomy between 12-inch records and 7-inch records. The 7 inch record comes with the task of holding sound from quite a different angle. Where 12 inch vinyl records are traditionally used to hold longer form releases like albums or EPs, the 7-inch has come to hold shorter releases, like shorter EPs and singles.

In fact, the term single comes from these days, when a single set of songs would be held on these 7 inch discs and played at 45 rpm for the sake of higher audio quality.

The lines are not so clear cut, however, as there exist such things as 12 inch singles, which instead of holding a whole album seek to play an extended mix of a single or simply hold a longer form song without sacrificing any of the sound quality.

For this reason, a 12 inch single record spins at 45 rpm usually, particularly popular among various styles of dance music, where the audio quality over massive speakers is integral to the sanctity of the vibes.

This size of vinyl record is almost certainly going to be played at 45 rpm, having become the standard speed for this kind of disc in the middle of the 20th century. The higher speed is supposedly better for the sound quality of the music imbibed within the grooves, hence why the original progenitor of the gramophone, Emile Berliner , believed that the optimum speed for audio quality was around 80 rpm, and hence why 78 rpm was the go to speed at which to play records for such a long time.

That being said, there are a number of releases (however small) that use 7 inch vinyl records at 33 rpm, though they are exceedingly rare. I suppose it is not hard to see why this might be of use to some, where the binaries of 12 inch and 7 inch records at their regular speeds simply do not offer an in-between upon which to hold an apposite body of music.

You are far less likely to find a 10 inch record out and about, unless you are on a particularly thorough sojourn of crate digging or storing records of old. Many manufacturers do not even produce them anymore, hence why there is such a lack of an in between size on the vinyl market.

This was the original size of the vinyl disc, wherein they would be spun on record players at 78 rpm, the proposed ideal speed by Emile Berliner, though a speed that not all turntables can handle these days. They are generally much thicker, and were originally made from shellac, hence why they were considered too unsafe and thus brought out of mass production.

As already elucidated (and something vinyl collectors from all over can tell you), the 12 inch record will more often than not be played at 33 rpm, for the purposes of fitting a whole album onto the however many discs make up the entire package.

That being said, there is in some circles a trend of using 12 inch records to house extended singles and/ or remixes instead. These records will thus be played at 45 rpm for the sake of better sound quality, though the record player upon which they are played will tend to be more like a big set of decks. This higher sound quality will translate through the larger stereo system upon which these tunes are usually played.

Another key difference between 33 vs 45 vinyl records is the amount of tracks that each can contain.

As a 45 rpm record is being played a faster speed, there is an inherent deficit in the amount of tracks that can appear on a disc intended to be played at precisely this speed.

Likewise (and inversely), a 33 rpm record will inherently be able to hold more tracks, owing to the slower speed. This speed means that the cartridge is going to trace the grooves slower and thus will take more time to fulfill the many revolutions upon the record’s surface.

If a 12 inch record has three or more tracks on each side, then chances are that it is going to be played at 33 rpm to accommodate all of the tracks. The same logic can be applied on the inverse, so that any record that has only one or two tracks on each side is more likely to be played at 45 rpm.

There is an increasing trend, however, towards half-speed mastering , which altogether challenges the kind of assumptions we might make about the speed of a record based on the number of tracks.

A friend of mine, for example, was debating for a while whether to purchase a copy of Discreet Music by Brian Eno in its normal form or whether to invest in a version that was mastered at half speed. The former would have meant that the eponymous half an hour long title track would have fit perfectly on to one side of vinyl at 33 rpm, while the latter instead meant that it would have been split onto two sides at 45 rpm. He opted for the latter, against my best wishes.

One of the central reasons many pledge their allegiance on the side of 45 rpm records is the sheer fact of their sounding better when the record spins on a record player.

Where the record travels faster, there is inherently more vibrational information within the grooves that can be translated into a higher sound fidelity.

Likewise, the inverse is true for a 33 rpm record, wherein the slower speed means that there is inherently less information being imbibed within the grooves at this speed and thus less to speak of with regards to the audio fidelity.

The real trade off here is one of quality and time. Though a record spun at 45 rpm is going to inherently allow for a higher quality of tone within the record groove, it will also make for a significant lessening of the amount of available space on the surface of the record.

In the case of all records, however, (and something one would know if clued up on how are vinyl records made ) is that ‘fidelity steadily declines as playback progresses; there is more vinyl per second available for fine reproduction of high frequencies at the large-diameter beginning of the groove than exist at the smaller diameters close to the end of the side.

‘At the start of a groove on an LP there are 510 mm of vinyl per second traveling past the stylus while the ending of the groove gives 200–210 mm of vinyl per second — less than half the linear resolution. Distortion towards the end of the side is likely to become more apparent as record wear increases.’

Thus, no matter what speed a record is played at, it is going to fall prey to the same faults in fidelity towards the center of the disc regardless.

Similarly, and inherently related to some of the aforementioned points, is the longevity of a vinyl record as affected by the speed at which it is intended to be played.

Much as with the previous point, the 45 rpm record seems a clear winner. Operating at this higher speed, there is inherently less damage being done to the surface of the disc, for the needle is spending inherently less time scraping its way along the record’s face.

On the inverse, the argument is that with a 33 rpm operating at the slower speed, it encourages the needle to spend more time dragging itself across the record’s face, as well as spending inherently longer spinning out of its packaging in the first place, all of which means that it is not doing the record the best it could.

45 rpm records also play off of the aforementioned phenomenon, wherein a record’s sound quality inherently degrades towards the center owing to the disc shape that it is constructed from. Closer to the center, the record’s circular grooves become smaller and smaller, offering less and less space and prompting the needle to traverse its face faster and faster.

Operating at a faster speed, a record that is intended to be played at 45 rpm will mean that this part of the record – already so prone to degradation in sound fidelity overall – is prevented from degrading even further and at a faster rate, such as it might on the surface of a record intended to be spun at 33 rpm.

And while the actual speed of these records is 33 and a third revolution per minute, that extra fraction of speed is not going to make enough of a difference in terms of slowing down the degradation of the record overall.

Though it is not necessarily a competition, there are a number of things that a 45 rpm record does better than its 33 rpm counterpart.

The overall quality of the sound within the grooves of a 45 rpm record is inherently better, owing to the phenomenon within record technology which means that a record mastered to be played at a faster speed will at root sound better than a record mastered slower and intended to be played slower.

Likewise, the fact of its being played faster also comes to mean that the degradation of a record that can otherwise not be helped (no matter how delicately one treats it) is slowed down considerably, for the needle that tends to do most of the damage scraping along a record’s surface as it does is spending less time doing so, thus sparing a record’s eventual invalid state for a time longer.

There is, however, a significant trade off with all of these benefits that comes in the form of time. Since a 45 rpm record will be traveling faster, it will be spending less time projecting the music within the grooves forth through the respective stereo system of the user.

Therefore, it will overall be able to hold less music than a record played at 33 rpm. And in an industry where money is increasingly scarce, especially when it comes to any artist actually trying to do something different, this can be a pretty significant deciding factor.

In a similar vein, I imagine that the overload of orders and back logged deliveries that are currently plaguing vinyl pressing plants throughout the western world will play a part in whether a certain record is to be pressed to wax at 33 rpm or 45 rpm.

A slower speed will mean more space to put more music onto one disc, thus saving time and materials in the process. All are factors for consideration.

So, there you have it! Are 45 records better than 33?

While there are certainly a whole host of benefits that come along with a record spun at 45 rpm instead of 33 rpm, it would be wrong to say that one is better than the other. For all those benefits, a 33 rpm record can hold a considerable amount more music than a 45 rpm record can, allowing the record plant to essentially put a whole album onto one disc.

What happens if you play a 45 record at 33?

Not a whole lot besides the record sounding kind of funny. There is an inherently novel quality to this kind of thing at first that should be savored at all costs. In fact, I have found a whole host of albums and singles in my record collection that sound rather interesting, if not quite amazing, when played at the wrong speed. This tends to apply far more for slowing down then speeding up, however.

Why are some records 33 and some 45?

The variable speeds at which a record is pressed has to do with a number of factors regarding the actual music itself. This is a physical format, and so the literal amount of space that the music is going to take up on the physical disc is a prime point of consideration when looking to press a release onto wax. Some releases might need more space to fit on a 7 inch or 12 inch disc, in which case they will likely be pressed to be spun at 33 rpm; inversely, a release might need a higher fidelity owing to various aspects of its production, in which case it will be pressed to be spun at 45 rpm.

How do I know if my record is 33, 45 or 78?

Most records will come with directions on the center label regarding what speed they ought to be played at. However, there are a number of records in my own collection, for instance, that seem to take the speed at which they ought to be played for granted. The only way to find out what speed these records ought to be played is by either listening (if you already know the song well enough) or by googling. hi robert, i’m hoping you can help me with a needle problem. I have a GE trimeline 400 solid state record player model t440p. it was my mom’s from the 60’s-70’s. she played 45’s and 33’s. i want to replace the needle but can’t seem to find exact one. the one that’s in it is blue and says GE78 on one side of tab and S-LP on the other. it also has a 12 on the shaft. any help would be appreciated.

What Putter Length Do You Need?

Players need a putter that offers the best control of direction and distance. The length of the putter that you need depends on your height. Often, short golfers fare well with short putters ranging from 33 and 34 inches in length. Tall players that are 6ft or taller, should use 35 inch putters.

However, some golfers find the reverse to be true. This is why it’s important to test both short and long putters to see which length works best for you.

To determine the correct length of your putter, position yourself in the putting stance or address position and hang your arms freely by the side.

Request someone to take the measurement from just above your hands to the ground. This measurement represents the size of the putter that you will need.

How to Tell If Your Putter Length is Too Long

As a rule, if you find yourself placing your hands quite down the putter shaft when you’re in the putting stance, it’s a sign that you have a putter that is too long for you. The following are some tips that golfers have for you to determine if your putter length is too long.

• Your elbows tend to be crooked and your arc will become flatter when you place your hands over the putter shaft.
• The putter head will get positioned away from you causing the toe of the putter to be off the ground. This makes you aim towards the left of the target.
• Your eyes will be to the inside of the golf ball and inclined towards the heel side rather than have your eye line above the putting target line.
• You will be positioning yourself away from the ball more than the actual required distance.

It’s worth noting that there are tall players who opt for long putters and choking down on the shaft rather than buy short putters of that size. However, tall golfers with long arms are more comfortable with putters that are longer than the standard size.

Some golfers are slightly shorter than 6’3” and prefer using a 32.5” putter while there are 6’1” and 6’6” players who use putters with lengths 34.5” and 35.5” respectively.

On the other hand, some players are 5’11” tall and prefer playing with a 28” putter while bending over too much.

Similarly, while some 6’ golfers use 34” putters, there are others of the same height who use slightly longer putters.

Some golfers use a 33” putter and choke down at 31”. A few 5’10” players prefer putters of size between 33” and 33.5”.

How to Tell if Your Putter Length is Too Short

Just as is the case with long putters, there are some giveaway signs that indicate the putter you’re using is too short for you. Here are some of those indicators that are worth checking out based on players’ experiences.

• Your hands tend to be at least partly beyond the end of the shaft of the putter.
• Your eyes will make contact outside of the golf ball rather than be over it.
• You will be closer to the ball than necessary resulting in the putter heel getting lifted and causing you to aim towards the right of the target.

Although short putters are best suited for short players, some tall players are also comfortable with putters of less than the standard size.

There are players of 5’9” height who have better control with 33” and 34” putters that are shorter than standard size putters by just one or two inches.

On the other hand, some of them opt for these putters and choke down by a couple of inches. Having said that, there are 5’10” players who fare well with their 31.5” putters.

At the same time, there are 6’1” and 6’6” tall golfers who are equally comfortable with putters of 34” size. Some 6’1” and 6’ players feel that they perform best using a 33” putter or slightly shorter ones at 32” and 32.5”.

However a few golfers that I meet have extended the size of their putters and flattened their lies accordingly.

There are 6’2”, 6’3” and even 6’6” golfers who are comfortable with their 33” putters because they find their arms are positioned naturally with these shorter putters.

Long Vs Short Putters

When it comes to the correct length of golf putters, it’s very true that no one size fits all. Both long and short putters have their pros and cons on the golf course.

Advantages of a Short Putter:

• Short putters have helped some tall players fare better and deliver better putts per round and per GIR.
• A short putter is easy for golfers who are struggling to keep on a straight line as well as have their eyes over the ball.
• A short putter is beneficial for players with long arms because it helps to hang their arms quite freely. This results in getting rid of the tension present in the stroke and hitting shots as far as possible.
• A short putter helps in shoulder rotation to a certain extent and increases the consistency of impact positioning on the clubface while preventing movement of players’ elbows and wrists.
• A short putter is ideal for short golfers because they will not have to bend forward too much to use the same.

Disadvantages of a Short Putter:

• A short putter can cause a backache for tall players because they have to bend forward to hit the ball.
• A short putter tends to be heavy at the head and result in pulled putts.
• A short putter may make players have their eyes outside of the ball.
• A short putter makes it difficult for some golfers in controlling the distance when they use it for long putts.

Advantages of a Long Putter:

• A long putter is easy to anchor against the body and produce a pendulum stroke because the wrist action over the golfclub tends to be minimized.
• A long putter makes the golfer retain an upright posture that in turn assists them in visualizing the line to the hole better than the short putter.
• A long putter allows long hitters to do better with putting strokes compared to a normal putter.
• A long putter does away with the need for bending forward and hence produces less strain on a golfer’s back. As a result, it’s a good choice for those who practice for long hours.
• A long putter is useful for those who are trying to hit sidesaddle shots by putting from just one side and draining a few putts.
• A long putter helps in keeping unwanted up and down movement of the club at bay.

Disadvantages of a Long Putter:

• A long putter is not very beneficial for skilled putters as it works better for those who are less skilled.
• A long putter is not advantageous for golfers who would like to putt from a distance of over 10 feet. This makes it challenging to use for medium putts and long putts.
• A long putter can cause players to push their aim to the left of the target rather than on it.
• A long putter often renders a lesser feel and is more difficult to control when compared to a standard size putter.

Using a Short Putter for a Tall Player

As said above, the general logic followed is that tall players tend to be better at their game with long putters. However, as always, there are exceptions to this.  

There are instances where tall golfers prefer using short putters to achieve the best results. While some of them don’t necessarily opt for short putters, they tend to choke down an inch or two on their long putters. This gives them the same effect of using a short putter.

Some 6’2” players have felt that their shoulders, arms and hands move in unison when they use a 32.5” putter. As a result, they’re able to achieve good acceleration through the ball.

On the other hand, other golfers of the same height and short arms who prefer a stance with a bend from their hips in comparison to an upward stance opt for a 33” putter. This helps to keep their arms straight and they putt better than with an elbow bend.

Few 6’1” and 6’2” tall players who have used both a 34” putter and a 35” find that they play better with the 34” putters and deliver better shots with short putters. In fact, they do well with 33.5” putters also.

There are those who go down a little more and opt for a 32.5” putter as it allows them to remain closer to the ball as well as have their eyes directly over the ball. Furthermore, short putters also prevent them from scuffing behind the ball.

There are 6’5” golfers who use 35” putters because this allows their arms and hands to hang freely and stay comfortable without any tension. This will help in rotating their body instead of hand/wrist and arm rotation. This gives them better control over their club than when they use long putters.

However, not all tall players are at ease using short putters. One common problem they tend to experience is backache, even after playing for a short time on the practice green.

33 inch Putter

To know if a 33-inch putter is too short for you, you must analyze the positions of your eye and body with respect to the golf ball.

If you notice that your eyes tend to remain away from the line of target and you’re standing very near to the ball, a 33-inch putter is likely to be too short for you.

Another way to check if a putter of this size is too short is to determine how effectively you’re able to control your distance when delivering long putts. If your putter is too short, you will have difficulty in doing the same.

This putter is generally short for male players who are taller than 5’9” and are not able to hang their arms freely by the side when in position.

35 inch Putter

A 35-inch putter is a standard size one and is ideal for players who are 6’ or taller.

If you find that your eyes are positioned to the inside of the ball or the distance between you and the ball and you is considerably high, you’re most likely using a putter that is longer than you actually need.

Furthermore, you will notice that the toe of the putter will be off the ground and give you a flatter arc. As a result, the shots will get deflected to the left of the target.

31” Vs 32” Putter

• A few golfers between 5’4” and 5’7” tall are able to make more putts as well as retain an upright posture with a narrow stance when they use a 32-inch putter when compared with a 31-inch putter.
• Players who are 6’ tall and have long arms are able to use a 32-inch putter better than a 31-inch putter.

33” Vs 34” Putter

• A 33” putter is harder to swing than a 34” putter because it has a comparatively heavier swing weight.

NEW YORK (AP) — Heart — the pioneering band that melds Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar with her sister Ann’s powerhouse vocals — is hitting the road this spring and fall for a world tour that Nancy Wilson describes as “the full-on rocker size.”

“I’ve been strengthening. I’ve got my trainer,” she says. “You go one day at a time and you strengthen one workout session at a time. It’s a lot of work, but it’s the only job I know how to do.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who gave us classic tracks like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You” and “Alone” will be playing all the hits, some tracks from of their solo albums — like Ann Wilson’s “Miss One and Only” and Nancy Wilson’s “Love Mistake” — and a new song called “Roll the Dice.”

“I like to say we have really good problems because the problem we have is to choose between a bunch of different, really cool songs that people love already,” says Nancy Wilson.

Like “Barracuda,” a sonic burst which first appeared on the band’s second album, “Little Queen” and is one of the band’s most memorable songs.

“You can’t mess with ‘Barracuda.’ It’s just the way it is. It is great. You get on the horse and you ride. It’s a galloping steed of a ride to go on. And for everybody, including the band.”

The tour kicks off Saturday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, and will hit cities including Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, as well as the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. International dates include stops in London, Oslo, Berlin, Stockholm, Montreal and Glasgow.

The band’s Royal Flush Tour will have Cheap Trick as the opening act for many stops, but Def Leppard and Journey will join for three stadium dates in Cleveland, Toronto and Boston this summer.

Ann and Nancy Wilson will be filled out by Ryan Wariner (lead and rhythm guitar), Ryan Waters (guitars), Paul Moak (guitars, keyboards and backing vocals), Tony Lucido (bass and backing vocals) and Sean T. Lane (drums).

The tour is the first in several years for Heart, which was rocked by a body blow in 2016 when Ann Wilson’s husband was arrested for assaulting Nancy’s 16-year-old twin sons. Nancy Wilson says that’s all in the past.

“We can take any kind of turbulence, me and Ann, and we’ve always been OK together,” she says. “We’re still steering the ship and happy to do it together. So we’re tight.”

The new tour will take them to Canada, which was warm to the band when they were starting out as what Nancy Wilson calls “a couple of chicks from Seattle.” She recalls Vancouver embracing Heart, and touring in one van across Canada in the dead of winter on two lane highways.

The Wilson sisters broke rock’s glass ceiling in the ‘70s and Nancy Wilson says they only had male influences to look to, like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Moody Blues.

Now she says she looks out and loves seeing generations of female rockers. “You have boygenius and you have Billie Eilish and you have Olivia Rodrigo and so many amazing women — Maggie Rogers and Sheryl Crow, who calls us her big influence. And then Billie Eilish might have Sheryl Crow as her influence. So it’s a really nice legacy to pass along. I like to say we’re the OG — the original gangsters — of women and rock.”

Heart has made it into the Rock Hall, won Grammys, sold millions of albums and rocked hundreds of thousands of fans but Nancy Wilson has one place she’d still like to shine.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of their debut album, “Dreamboat Annie,” which was the same year that “Saturday Night Live” started. “So we’re actually kind of putting it out there — Heart never played on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ But what about the 50th birthday party with Heart?”

Zurich Classic set for dramatic finish with Rory McIlroy/Shane Lowry two back in team debut

After his partner put his approach shot in the water on the 16th, Rory McIlroy calmly knocked a wedge to about 20 feet and rolled in the curling birdie putt, celebrating with a fist pump.

“Rory McIlroy had shown up,” according to partner Shane Lowry, as McIlroy made birdies on his own ball on Nos. 9, 10, 11, 13, 16 and 18. The Irish duo are firmly in the mix through 54 holes at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

McIlroy – who is making his debut at this event this week – and Lowry shot an 8-under 64 Saturday at TPC Louisiana. They’re just two shots back of the lead held by Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn at 23-under heading into Sunday’s finale, with Luke List and Henrik Norlander (who finished tied for 23rd together last year) in second at 22-under.

McIlroy and Lowry are tied with Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard for third.

There are a few TOUR winners hovering around the top of the board (including last year’s runners-up Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin among the four teams a shot back of McIlroy and Lowry at 20 under) but the major-winning pedigree held by McIlroy and Lowry, clad again in matching outfits Saturday – blue polos and khakis for the third round – should help give them a bit of a spring in their step for Sunday.

“I think today was about staying patient knowing that the course was going to present some opportunities, especially on that back nine, and I think our patience was rewarded with the chances that we gave ourselves and rolled a couple of putts in on the back and kept ourselves in it,” McIlroy said.

McIlroy and Lowry – friends for about 25 years – started slowly, going out in 3-under, but made three birdies in the first four holes after making the turn and shot 5 under on the back nine.

They were only 1-under through six holes and saw Fishburn and Blair put a bow on their 12-under 60 effort – just one shot off the Four-ball scoring record.

“We absolutely finished strong," McIlroy said. "It was a tricky day. The wind was blowing. We had some chances early on that we didn't take advantage of. We birdied the two par 5s on the front nine and then we definitely got it going around the turn. I hit a lovely shot into (hole) 9 and was able to convert that, and I think that gave us some really good momentum going into the back nine."

Making a birdie at the ninth, McIlroy continued, was a “game changer.”

“I think that 6-iron he hit into (hole) 9 and he rolled the putt got us going, and from there on in, it was Rory McIlroy at his best, and it was a joy to watch,” Lowry added.

“I knew we had a lot of holes to play, but certainly when we were 1-under through 6 and a long way down the leaderboard, I knew we needed to get something going.”

No matter where a duo ended up on the leaderboard, the winds at TPC Louisiana were a scoring speedbump on Saturday. The teams all had to navigate the blustery blows.

“It’s a pretty similar direction as the rest of the week but just a lot stronger,” said Hubbard, after his team shot an 8-under 64. "There's just some holes out here that even if you know it's blowing one direction, like (Nos.) 9 and 18, they should play a little down off the right and for some reason they always seem to have a little hurt on those approach shots – and they're tough shots into those greens. To have to trust a certain club or certain line that you might not be comfortable with, that's tough.”

The wind is set to be a factor again on Sunday, where the final round will once again be alternate shot.

That’s a format where anything can happen, but McIlroy said to be just two back of the lead is a solid position to be in. He and Lowry are eager to make a final-round move and return to the winner’s circle on the PGA TOUR.

“I thought it was important to finish the way we did,” McIlroy said, “excited to have a chance to win tomorrow.”

Joe Alwyn has “moved on” from his ill-fated romance with Taylor Swift and is dating someone new, according to a report.

The actor, 33, is “doing well” and “focused on work,” a source told People , adding that Alwyn has kickstarted a new romance since his split from the 14-time Grammy winner last year.

“He’s dating and happy,” the insider adds. “He’s a great guy and not into drama in any way.”

The source said that Alwyn “certainly doesn’t talk poorly” about his ex, 34. “He was in love with her, and it just didn’t work out.”

“Joe loves acting, but can’t stand the attention that comes with it. He’s not comfortable in the spotlight,” the insider added, noting that the actor was always keen to keep details of their relationship “his own personal story.”

Page Six has reached out to Alwyn’s reps for comment.

Swift, for her part, has since moved on with three-time Super Bowl champ and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whom she started dating last summer .

As for her ill-fated romance with Alwyn, the “Bad Blood” hitmaker began dating the Brit in 2016 before their relationship ultimately hit the rocks in April 2023.

The duo largely  kept their romance out of the spotlight  until news broke of their split last year .

Prior to meeting Alwyn, the “Cruel Summer” singer said that she  did not “like” having to “hide”  in relationships.

Several songs on Swift’s much-anticipated 11th studio album “The Tortured Poets Department,” center on her failed six-year relationship  with the “Conversations with Friends” actor.

Swift seemingly  shaded her ex on the 31-track album  in her song “So Long, London,” which is where she  lived with him for six years .

The lyrics mention “stop[ping] CPR” on a relationship since “the spirit was gone” and the couple would “never come to” again.

Elsewhere in the song, Swift sings that she “died on the altar waiting for proof” of their “love.”

In her song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” Swift sings, “I don’t even want you back / I just want to know / If rusting my sparkling summer was the goal.”

Swift’s lyrics hint at how miserable she was throughout their romance, specifically over how Alwyn went back on his plans to have a future with her.

The singer also threw her own social media shade following the album’s release,  “liking” an Instagram carousel  with an image  ranking her boyfriends  — with Alwyn at the bottom of the pyramid.
