This was such a great show!! I would definitely see him live again.

This review might not be completely objective as Abel has been my favourite singer for a few years now. However, I can definitely admit the Starboy tour date in Paris was the best pop concert I've been to this year. Even though some songs could have been put out of the tracklist, he mostly sang his catchiest songs of his career, no matter the era. He has great, or should I say, tremendous energy as he continuously sang twenty-something songs with no pause in between. He has no trouble reaching high notes live, his voice sounding even more heavenly in real life. That night, he invited Travis Scott on stage who pumped up the crowd more than him, which is a shame and showcases very well his lack of success and recognition in France, yet, in a sold out stadium. Most people actually didn't even know his real name or the lyrics of his songs ! I would recommend any "real fan" who has known him for a while or who likes his last album a lot to go to a Starboy tour date. I promise you, you won't regret it.

The concert was absolutely stunning. A starship was used and the lights were coordinated very well. Abel sang amazingly in person and I loved jumping up and down screaming with other members of the audience while he sang. The concert was truly magical and I enjoyed every second Abel stood on stage.

As for the other singers who appeared on stage, I was very satisfied with their singing as well. They did an amazing job and captured the entire audience. In between Abel's music, the other singers such as Lil Uzi and 6lack played their hits on stage and the whole crowd became even more alive. If I the concert played out any other way, I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as this concert.

Inside the weeknd’s $70 million bel air home (photos).

This is the Bel Air home of Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer “The Weeknd” (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye). He purchased it for a whopping $70 million in 2020. What’s even crazier than the price is the fact that the home wasn’t even up for sale! The Weeknd was in the market for a new home and stumbled upon this one. He offered the owner Reinout Oerlemans, a Dutch media mogul, a deal he couldn’t refuse. The home is located at 534 Barnaby Road in the Bel Air Country Club in Los Angeles, California and sits on 1.6 acres of land. It was built in 2002 and features over 18,000 square feet of living space with 8 bedrooms & 11 bathrooms, indoor & outdoor pools, recording studio, tennis court and more.

The Weeknd also owns THIS $25 million Los Angeles penthouse and formerly owned THIS home in Hidden Hills that he sold to Madonna for $19.3 million.

The Idol Was Shot in The Weeknd’s Real $70 Million Bel Air Home

HBO’s buzzy dark Hollywood drama  The Idol, which debuted this Sunday, is the network’s latest entry into the prestige television landscape they’ve largely defined. The show, which stars Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp (the actor-model daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis), quickly filled the hole left by the series finale of fan-favorite and awards-season heavyweight  Succession  last week.  The Idol was the talk of the internet months before its Cannes premiere last month, with  Euphoria ’s Sam Levinson taking the reins of the program following the exit of its initial helmer, Amy Seimetz, and a  Rolling Stone   report on the alleged set drama that made such a splash on social media that The Weeknd felt compelled to weigh in via a tongue-in-cheek tweet . As the Canadian singer-songwriter explores his thespian abilities, he’s launched something of a rebrand, shedding The Weeknd persona that has netted him four Grammys and international superstardom in favor of introducing fans to the man behind the music, Abel Tesfaye. With that shift, he’s also welcoming the audience into his home, so to speak; one of  The Idol ’s primary shoot locations is his very own $70 million Bel Air mansion.

AD first reported on the musician’s sprawling abode when he purchased it in August 2021. The eight-figure price tag made it one of the most expensive transactions to take place in LA that year. With amenities including a music studio, movie theater, sauna, infinity pool with waterfall, and an indoor pool all at his disposal on the 1.6-acre lot, one can see why Tesfaye might have wanted the production to shoot in-house (literally).

Though he’s the true owner of the mega-mansion IRL, his nightclub magnate cult leader character Tedros doesn’t reside there in the show. The dream house is canonically the dwelling of aspiring pop star protagonist Jocelyn, played by Depp. The premiere’s opening scene depicts Depp with a backdrop of artwork and unique light fixtures that anyone deeply invested in the pop star’s real estate portfolio might recognize from previously released images of the home.

With the change in creative leadership landing the Euphoria creator in the driver’s seat, there were a number of reshoots needed to align with the new vision for the show. Filming at Tesfaye’s own abode helped offset some of the mounting costs of shifting the production to fit Levinson’s plan. The filmmaker, who is the son of Oscar-winning filmmaker Barry Levinson, told W Magazine that a stop in to the palatial estate inspired him to consider shooting there. He says Tesfaye was game to try it nearly the instant the idea was raised.

“If we were going to reshoot from the beginning, I knew it had to be for less money,” Levinson explained to W. “Sitting in Abel’s house, looking around at the 40,000 square feet, I said, ‘It’s stunning here—you can’t buy production design like this. What if we shoot it here?’ Abel put down his drink and said, ‘Do you have insurance?’ I said yes. And he said, ‘I’m okay with it.’”

In a meta moment, the show begins with Jocelyn posing for photos as the star of a shoot that takes place inside her own home.

Yes, That’s The Weeknd’s Actual Bel-Air Mansion in The Idol

After finally premiering on June 4, HBO’s latest entry in the Sam Levinson Cinematic Universe has dominated the discourse, from its  graphic sex scenes to reports of frustrating script overhauls. Yet one specific detail about the show stands out as less salacious but still intriguing: the magnificent mansion that serves as the home base for pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), providing the backdrop for everything from revenge porn revelations to music video rehearsals? It belongs to an actual pop star: Depp’s co-lead and the show’s co-creator, The Weeknd.

As confirmed in  Architectural Digest ,  that is indeed The Weeknd’s real-life, 33,000-square-foot Bel Air home where most of the pilot action takes place. The Weeknd has owned the palatial estate since 2021, and reportedly ran him a cool $70 million. The columns-and-glass behemoth overlooks the Bel Air Country Club, and features a recording studio, movie theater, infinity pool with a waterfall, and  its own Turkish bath , as glimpsed when Depp and  Idol co-star Jennie (a mononymous singer from South Korean girl group Blackpink) decompress for a sauna session following an intense dance rehearsal [ ]. Some of the Weeknd’s original decor even appears in the show, according to  Architectural Digest , like the huge  painting framing Jocelyn during the photoshoot early in the episode.

Shooting in an actual pop star’s house would seem to lend the show an air of authenticity, but it seems the choice was as much commercial as it was artistic. Part of the impetus  Levinson told  W ,  was to save money ahead of lengthy reshoots that saw original director Amy Seimetz depart and the tone of the series reportedly retooled.

“If we were going to reshoot from the beginning, I knew it had to be for less money. Sitting in Abel’s house, looking around at the 40,000 square feet, I said, ‘It’s stunning here—you can’t buy production design like this. What if we shoot it here?’” Levinson explained. “Abel put down his drink and said, ‘Do you have insurance?’ I said yes. And he said, ‘I’m okay with it.’”

Levinson went on to tell  W that he, along with his wife and child, “essentially moved into Tesfaye’s house” to finish work on the series. The Weeknd, by contrast, had effectively moved out at the same time, saying he felt that they “were trying to blur the line between fiction and reality,” and that returning to the home once shooting wrapped was a strange experience. (He noted that he changed the furniture and replastered the walls upon returning.)

“The bedrooms were now greenrooms; the bathrooms were for hair and makeup,” Tesfaye told  W . “We built a music studio in the basement so Mike Dean, who helped compose, and I could score the show while we were filming.”

The home figures heavily into the pilot, from bird’s eye view angles of Jocelyn’s team figuring out a PR crisis by the pool, to walk-and-talks in the home’s elegant white hallways, to shots of Jocelyn in what is presumably the master bedroom. Jocelyn and her dancers even rehearse choreography in the yard. It’s possible as  The Idol  goes on that the gargantuan mansion could come to represent a gilded cage for Jocelyn, who possesses all the trappings of celebrity but still feels controlled by others.

The Idol  received its series order in November 2021 but suffered a dysfunctional production process, with  several sources describing to  Rolling Stone  about a chaotic and disorganized production, with crew members and even cast members shaken up after a hiatus. The series still boasts an impressive supporting cast, from gifted newcomers like Suzanna Son and Rachel Sennott to musicians like Moses Sumney and Jennie, alongside established names Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Hank Azaria.

Have you always wanted to tour the Weeknd’s California mansion?

Grammy Award winner the Weeknd (Canadian-singer-songwriter Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) is selling his very private Hidden Hills, California mansion after purchasing a penthouse for $21 million in L.A.’s Beverly West condo building, according to real estate industry favorite TopTenRealEstateDeals. The 14,000 sq ft. massive estate was built in 2016 and spans three acres, designed for comfort, luxury and entertainment.

Currently busy promoting his new album  After Hours  and raising funds for several charities including the Equal Justice Initiative, The Weeknd has won three Grammys, eight  Billboard  Music Awards, and two American Music Awards. When not touring, he spends his time here.

Located inside a gated community, the seven-bedroom, 11-bath property includes a two-bedroom guest house, a large barn, and a five-car auto gallery. Lifestyle amenities include a full-size basketball court, gym, pool, spa, a cabana with its own living room, home theater, a bar for entertaining, and a dramatic wine room.

Upon entering the property, you are greeted with double-height ceilings and a 2-story window wall. Pocket doors open to multiple terraces, the pool, spa, and cabana with living room, making the home a perfect space for indoor/outdoor living.

Fireplaces can be found in the formal living and dining rooms, family room, and office.  The large chef’s kitchen is perfect for entertaining, with two islands, and space that opens to the family room and terraces.  There are two master suites and the entire home is bright, crisp white with California sunlight spilling into the rooms. Lush landscaping around the property includes redwood trees and sprawling grassy lawns.

The Weeknd recently listed the home for $24.995 million, soon after he spent $21 million for a new penthouse in L.A.’s Beverly West condo building. The home is listed by Angel Salvador with The Agency in Beverly Hills.

Deftones are heading back to the big stage in 2025! The alt-metal favorites have announced their first headlining tour since 2022, a 24-date expedition set to kick off early next year. Joined by The Mars Volta and Fleshwater, they’ll begin on February 25th in Portland, OR, and continue through April 8th in Boston, MA. Don’t get us wrong, Deftones never truly went anywhere. They’ve had a very busy year headlining festivals like Coachella, Primavera Sound, and Lollapalooza. The Sacramento band even joined System of a Down for a massive show in San Francisco with a crowd of 50,000+. That being said, fans have waited patiently for another headlining tour that highlights Deftones’ 36-year-discography for the masterpiece it is. And it’s finally coming in 2025.

With their experimental and instantly-recognizable sound, the influence of Deftones is all around us. While their roots are primarily planted in metal, they’ve also been named as an inspiration by artists like The Weeknd and Chvrches! Just listen to their biggest singles like “Change,” “My Own Summer,” “Rosemary” and “Be Quiet and Drive” to understand their impact. And in the meantime, hype yourself up for a setlist that includes both classics and possible new tunes. While it’s been a minute since the ninth and latest Deftones record, 2020’s Ohms , the band has hinted at new recordings on the horizon. “Just in the last couple of months, really — two or three months; well, maybe a little longer now, really; February is when we started … to work on new material for a new record,” guitarist Stephen Carpenter said in an interview . “It’s going good now. It was a little slow at first, but it always is; dragging our feet ain’t nothing new. But we’ve got stuff up and going now, and we’re on a good little momentum at the moment.”

While there’s no official release date for the next Deftones album, we wouldn’t put it past them to preview some new tracks on tour. Or maybe even at the fifth annual sold-out Dia De Los Deftones festival in San Diego this November! The band’s unpredictability is a part of their charm, after all, and you’ll get swept up in the Deftones movement from start to finish at these 2025 shows. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 20th for the following dates.

Swedish House Mafia ‘s hotly anticipated collaboration with The Weeknd is here, and it’s arrived alongside the announcement of the first global tour from the dance icons in a decade.

The song, “Moth To a Flame,” was first teased during Swedish House Mafia’s performance at the VMAs in September. (The group’s previously released single, “Lifetime,” has spent the last 13 weeks on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, where it’s currently at No. 29.) Hear “Moth to a Flame” below.

The track, the trio’s third new single since July, comes with the announcement of Swedish House Mafia’s 2022 Paradise Again tour . Named after the group’s forthcoming debut album — coming via Republic Records and expected to drop by the end of 2021 — the 44-date U.S. and European tour is Swedish House Mafia’s first large-scale outing since they wrapped their massive farewell run, One Last Tour, in March 2013.

In fact, this tour starts where One Last Tour ended, with the Paradise Again run launching in Miami on July 29, 2022, and extending into November of next year. The tour will hit arenas in the U.S and Europe, with a stop at New Jersey’s Met Life stadium on August 3. ( See tickets here ) This tour is being announced just two days after Swedish House Mafia confirmed that they’ll play Coachella 2022 this April.

The timing element of the tour announcement allowed for a small break in protocol for both Live Nation and Coachella. Radius-clause provisions at both companies typically would require the announcements be spaced further apart, but both Goldenvoice and Live Nation agreed to waive the rules for the band, a representative for Live Nation tells Billboard. 

Both Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd are managed by Sal Slaiby of Los Angeles-based management firm SALXCO. In July, Slaiby told Billboard that he was coordinating a pair of sponsorships for the Swedish House Mafia tour, so as not to affect the large financial investments the group has historically made on their massive live productions.  “I don’t want them to change that,” Slaiby said. “I love their attitude of wanting to do the best show and not losing anything from the creative.”

The house where Mikhail Bulgakov's - an author of The Master and Margareth - used to live in a communal appartment and where he placed the most nasty characters of his famous novel. The Patriarshy Pond - a location where the story of The Master and Margareth starts out.

Ryabushinsky mansion , also known as Gorky's House - the Art Nouveau gem by the architect Fyodor Schechtel. Ryabushinsky - one the 10 richest families of Russia - lost their property after the revolution and their house was given to Maxim Gorky - the most revered writer of the Soviet times. Ryabushinsky Mansion is open every day except Monday and Tuesday and the last Thursday of the month. Its interiors designed by the architect himself are truly impressive.

A statue of Nikolay Gogol - the author of the most satirical Russian novel of the XIX century - "Dead Souls". The end of his life was really sad and the story of this statue is something sad and funny at the same time.
