10 Best Cruise Lines for Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

A cruise wedding combines one of the most important days of your life with exciting travel destinations, plenty of entertainment and an array of things to eat, do and drink. Most major cruise lines offer a variety of services to help you plan your wedding, and options range from onboard wedding ceremonies to weddings before you embark, on top of a glacier or on a sandy beach. Even better? Cruise ship weddings come with a built-in honeymoon.

But before you start planning, let's start with the basics: What does a cruise ship wedding cost? They start around $1,500 (plus the cruise costs) for Carnival’s Intimate Gold wedding package. From there, prices climb depending on the line you choose and what you add on to your ceremony.

Read on for Cruise Critic's 10 favorite cruise lines for weddings. They offer a variety of options and price points for most travelers planning a cruise wedding.

1. Disney Cruise Line

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose Disney for a Cruise Wedding?

A Disney Cruise wedding is perhaps the ultimate fantasy-made-reality ceremony, depending on your tastes (of course). It's also a great option for anyone whose wedding party includes children as well as those entering blended marriages with young kids. Disney's ships are already some of the most well-liked in the world, with large rooms and plenty of on-brand entertainment. Additionally, Disney offers a low-stress, low-hassle package that -- while not cheap -- certainly delivers on bringing fairytales to life.

Disney Cruise Wedding Package Details:

Disney Cruise's Fairy Tale Weddings are available on all of the line’s ships. Packages start at $3,500 and include fresh floral options for the couple, the services of a Disney cruise wedding coordinator and officiant, a solo musician (typically a pianist), Champagne toast, an elegant wedding cake with keepsake topper, a commemorative Disney wedding certificate, onboard credit for the wedding couple and dinner at Palo, the line's adults-only alternative restaurant, found on all Disney ships. The package can accommodate eight guests, plus the couple.

Coolest Perk of a Disney Cruise Wedding:

Dress-steaming is included in the Disney wedding package price. We also love that you can opt for an upgraded ceremony on Castaway Cay , Disney's private Bahamian island, for an extra charge.

Disney Cruise Wedding Caveat:

DIsney's wedding package can be pricey when you start adding upgrades. Beyond the cake and Champagne, a reception or other services for wedding guests isn't included, though you can add an appetizer-and-open-bar reception for an additional cost. You can also invite additional guests to your wedding ceremony, but events with more than 10 guests will also incur an extra cost.

Note that, if the couple gets married onboard, the captain or a ship officer will preside over the ceremony. Disney Cruise Line weddings do not include the marriage license, so the couple is responsible for providing any necessary legal documentation. If the wedding occurs on Castaway Cay, the ceremony will be performed by a Bahamian official, but it is not a legal marriage; the couple will need to already be legally married before the ship departs the U.S.

2. Celebrity Cruises Wedding

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose a Celebrity Cruise Wedding?

Weddings on Celebrity cruises include the option to have the captain perform either a legal or symbolic ceremony at sea -- including legal same-sex weddings -- under the line’s Malta registration. The line's fleet of ships offers a pleasant mix of fun and luxury, leaving the happy couple and their guests with plenty to do before and after the big day. Celebrity's newest ships are also upping the luxury factor on their Edge Class ships, with The Retreat -- an exclusive suite-only complex with its own deck, pool, and dining option.

Celebrity Cruise Wedding Package Details:

The Celebrity Weddings program offers onboard ceremonies and destination weddings and are some of the most reasonably priced on this list for couples who don't necessarily need a huge list of bells and whistles. Shipboard packages begin at $1,495 and include a captain-led ceremony (at sea only), an event coordinator's services, recorded music, one hour of photography (photographs sold separately), cake for two, a bottle of Champagne, flowers for the couple, and a keepsake wedding album. Shoreside weddings start at $1,895 and in-port weddings are pricier, including all of the same features plus roundtrip taxi transportation to the ceremony site for the couple.

Coolest Perk of a Celebrity Cruise Wedding:

Celebrity is known for its Deck Weddings onboard the ship, featuring a flowing, white, draped canopy for a ceremony perched above the water. This will cost extra

Celebrity Cruise Wedding Caveat:

Licensing and regulatory fees are not included in Celebrity's base wedding package prices. A license for a legal wedding at sea is $750, for instance. Also, the number of wedding ceremonies performed on each sailing is based on the captain's availability. Couples should book their wedding packages in advance to allow time for the processing of marriage licenses and legal documents; for legal ceremonies at sea, all documentation should be completed and submitted about 10 weeks prior to sailing.

3. Carnival Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose Carnival for a Cruise Wedding?

Carnival cruise weddings appeal to younger couples thanks to the line's famous amenities and spirited, party-friendly atmosphere. It's also one of the least expensive cruise wedding options on this list. Carnival Spirit , Carnival Pride , Carnival Legend and Carnival Miracle have onboard chapels, though you can buy Carnival's wedding packages on any of the ships in the fleet, with venues assigned according to the number of guests and the reception options chosen.

Carnival Wedding Package Details

Carnival offers three categories of wedding packages: Intimate, for weddings with 10 or fewer guests (including the couple); Grand, for 11 guests and up; and Classic, which includes the ceremony and reception packages for a minimum of 20 guests (including the couple). Even the most basic Carnival small wedding packages include the services of a personal wedding planner, a wedding coordinator, a private shipboard ceremony venue, priority check-in (for embarkation-day weddings), a nondenominational officiant, a bottle of sparkling wine, a tiered wedding cake, recorded wedding music, ceremony decor, a honeymoon dinner for the couple and the services of a photographer (prints are extra).

Add-ons cover additional decorations, a mimosa breakfast, silk flowers for the couple, massages, sparkling wine upgrades, larger cakes, and cake toppers. All Carnival wedding packages can be arranged to take place on embarkation day, onboard the ship in a port of call, off the ship in a port of call and onboard while at sea (symbolic only).

Coolest Perk of a Carnival Cruise Wedding:

We like the free and easy-to-use online gift registry that makes it simple for guests to contribute to the couple's destination wedding. It provides couples with a wedding website, blog, email wizard, photo album and tools to upload to social media.

Carnival Cruise Wedding Caveat:

Plan ahead. Weddings in port are available on Carnival cruise ships only in select ports (including embarkation ports), and there's a limit to how many weddings can take place on the same day. A maximum of 50 non-sailing guests may attend a wedding on the ship. Surcharges (ranging from $100 to $200) may apply for ceremonies during popular seasons, including Thanksgiving, winter holidays, Valentine's week and all of May and June.

4. Princess Cruises Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose Princess for a Cruise Wedding?

Princess is a prime choice for cruise weddings because, of all the lines offering shipboard nuptials, it provides one of the best combinations of features, services and facilities. Princess' Tie the Knot packages are available on all ships, and most ships have dedicated wedding chapels.

Princess Cruises Wedding Package Details:

Princess offers three wedding packages, all named Tie the Knot and priced similarly depending on your wedding needs, and starting at $2,000.

The Tie the Knot at Sea package includes use of the onboard wedding chapel or other select ship venue, a ceremony officiated by the captain, a wedding coordinator, live music, two floral arrangements, wedding bouquets or boutonnieres for the couple, the services of a photographer and a selection of prints, wedding cake, bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine and two keepsake flutes, a commemorative wedding certificate, chocolate-covered strawberries, deluxe breakfast for two, dinner for the couple at a specialty restaurant and rose petals on the bed at turn-down.

In addition to the above benefits, you'll score priority check-in and boarding for the couple and guests with the Tie the Knot Harborside package, which includes a service in port before embarkation. Alternatively, Princess Cruises' Tie the Knot Ashore package includes a ceremony at a beach or garden (or even at a glacier in Alaska) and transportation for the couple in addition to the standard services of a Tie the Knot ceremony. Note that receptions, photography packages and enhanced ceremony options are available at extra cost on Princess Cruises.

Coolest Perk of a Princess Cruise Wedding:

Not only can your ceremony be conducted at sea by your Princess ship's captain, but the line also features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to broadcast the ceremony live, via webcam, to friends and family on land. Some Princess captains are pretty romantic. On one particular cruise over Valentine's Day, the captain casually announced he'd conduct vow renewals for anyone who wanted them, and about a half-dozen couples showed up.

Princess Cruise Wedding Caveat:

Keep in mind that licensing fees for a Princess cruise wedding can add up to an additional $500 to any selected wedding package. There may also be surcharges for weddings held during busy peak season or holiday travel periods.

5. Norwegian Cruise Line Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose a Norwegian Wedding at Sea?

Norwegian Cruise (NCL) weddings come in a vast array of options, which can turn basic packages into full-blown extravaganzas. Its ships also feature a wide range of specialty restaurants for easy romantic dining for two. NCL also offers legal same-sex ceremonies, available in destinations where same-sex marriages are recognized by local law.

NCL Wedding Package Details:

Norwegian offers four wedding packages that start at around $2,000. Its Wedding at Sea ceremony, priced from $3,099, is performed onboard while at sea and officiated by the ship captain on Breakaway , Getaway , Epic , Escape and Bliss . This package includes flowers for the couple; a cake; recorded music; Champagne toast; one bottle each of sparkling wine, house wine and prosecco; chocolate-covered strawberries; canapes delivered to the stateroom; one hour of photography service (prints are extra); and dinner for two in Norwegian's fine-dining French restaurant, Le Bistro. Norwegian's Wedding at Sea package also includes a group service coordinator, who can make dinner reservations, organize group seating at shows and otherwise assist the couple and their guests, in addition to overseeing the wedding. Marriage certificates will be issued by the Bahamas (additional fee).

The most basic (and cheapest) package is Norwegian's Symbolic at Sea option, while a Harborside package allows couples to be married onboard at select ports of call. Packages are available in a wide range of ports in the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean and Bermuda. This package adds priority embarkation for the couple and their guests (if the wedding is on embarkation day).

Destination weddings through NCL vary in price according to port, but start at $3,495, and offer a range of exotic onshore locations to hold nuptials: a glacier in Alaska, a bay in St. Thomas, the sands of Bermuda and more. It adds round trip transportation for the bride and groom to the wedding location in port.

Marriage licenses are extra in all cases, and prices vary depending on local authorities.

In addition to the basic packages, there is a huge range of a la carte options, including spa and beauty services (not available on embarkation day), flowers (including custom orders), live music and a wide variety of wedding receptions -- from cold hors d'oeuvres with an open bar to a full sit-down luncheon for a minimum of 25 guests.

Coolest Perk of a Norwegian Cruise Wedding:

Couples getting married on a Norwegian cruise can add a conch shell aisle or fresh rose arch to shoreside ceremonies for extra charges.

Norwegian Cruise Wedding Caveat:

If you're holding anything more than an intimate wedding on a Norwegian cruise, you'll be charged an extra fee for an additional wedding coordinator for every 25 guests beyond the first 25.

6. Royal Caribbean Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose Royal Caribbean for a Cruise Wedding?

Among the choices for Royal Caribbean wedding packages, you have an option to get married at sea, with your ship's captain or first officer officiating a ceremony that includes special nautical vows. There are three packages to choose from, including a small-scale ceremony option, though prices for the larger packages are on par with Disney Cruise Line. Also like Disney, a reception is not included in Royal Caribbean's wedding package prices.

Royal Caribbean weddings are great for multi-generational weddings, where kids, teens, adults and mature guests will all be attending. There is always a huge range of entertainment, dining, drinking and relaxing options on board even the smallest Royal Caribbean ship, making it easy to keep guests happy before and after the wedding itself.

Royal Caribbean Wedding Package Details:

The line offers three different ways to tie the knot on board. The most basic and intimate wedding option with Royal Caribbean is the Intimately Yours package, which allows the couple to get married onboard while the ship is sailing, with up to 10 guests. The package, starting at $1,950, features the services of a wedding planner and coordinator, onboard ceremony with a nondenominational officiant, a photographer (prints are extra), recorded music, a three-tier wedding cake, dinner for two at a specialty restaurant, chocolate-covered strawberries and a mimosa-accompanied breakfast-in-bed for the couple in their decorated stateroom, a bottle of Champagne and a keepsake wedding certificate

A Vows at Sea package starts at $3,850 includes up to 50 guests and use of a private onboard wedding venue while the ship is at sea. The Embark on Romance option, from $5,600, lets the couple get married onboard the ship while it's in port on embarkation day, allowing non-sailing guests to participate in the ceremony before the ship departs. This package includes the same services above and covers up to 50 people, but adds priority check-in and a pier-to-ship escort for the couple and their guests. Note that there is a $250 surcharge for every additional 25 guests as well as other related charges (see our caveat below).

There is also one wedding package available to get hitched ashore: the "Destination I Do" offering, starting at $4,650 (for up to 50 guests). Couples can choose from a destination in port (or opt to stay on the ship while it's docked there) in locations like Antigua, Bermuda and Florida; or at the line’s private island retreat -- appropriately named for a wedding venue -- Perfect Day at CocoCay. This Royal Caribbean wedding package includes local transportation for the bride and groom, a bouquet and boutonniere, and a cake for two. The services of an officiant, wedding planner and coordinator, a bottle of sparkling wine and keepsake wedding certificate are also included.

Note that the cost for in-port marriage licenses vary by destination, from $200 to $700; a shipboard marriage license costs $900. Additional services for floral arrangements, live music and photography can be arranged at an additional cost.

Receptions are not included in the price of the ceremonies, but several add-on options are available, ranging from open bars and hors d'oeuvre to sit-down lunch and buffet meal service.

Coolest Perk of a Royal Caribbean Wedding:

Royal Caribbean's shoreside ceremonies run the gamut from simply scenic (a beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico ) and bespoke (a winery in Santorini, Greece ) to bucket-list affairs (like a ceremony atop a glacier in Juneau, Alaska ).

Royal Caribbean Wedding Caveat:

Watch out for a la carte charges that can add up on Royal Caribbean. For instance, couples who want to plan a wedding less than 90 days from sailing pay a fee that varies based on the package chosen. Note, too, that wedding parties of more than 50 guests require an additional wedding coordinator for an additional fee. Beyond that, an additional surcharge applies to weddings and vow renewals scheduled in May, June, September and October. Holidays -- such as New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve -- are also subject to higher rates.

7. P&O Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose a P&O Cruise Wedding?

Planning a wedding on P&O Cruises means first selecting the right ship for your needs. Not all of P&O's ships cater to the same clientele and some don't allow children (which can be a plus for some couples). With that in mind, it's important to know your guest list (or at least the age restrictions of your wedding) before you book. Aurora and Arcadia are child-free (nobody younger than 18 is allowed onboard), while Azura , Brittania , and Ventura allow children.

P&O Cruise Wedding Package Details:

Wedding packages start around $2,100 for a ceremony without guests and go higher for up to 10 guests. The cost includes the venue, ceremony conducted by the ship's captain (a civil service legally recognized under Bermudian law), floral arrangements, music, a tiered cake, a commemorative certificate, Champagne, an onboard wedding coordinator, and breakfast in bed.

Coolest Perk of P&O Cruise Weddings:

Pressing of the couple’s attire and complementary hair and makeup for the bride are a nice addition to both packages on P&O cruises.

P&O Cruise Wedding Caveat:

A hefty marriage license fee is required for couples marrying onboard Azure, Ventura, Arcadia and Aurora. Additionally, the per-person costs of a wedding aboard P&O cruises is a bit steep compared to other entries on this list.

8. Holland America Line Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose a Holland America Cruise Wedding?

Holland America (HAL) weddings are available on a variety of ships and itineraries worldwide. Packages include extra amenities when a minimum number of staterooms are booked for guests and you'll find cool in-port wedding offerings, including glacier ceremonies in Juneau. The line caters to a mature clientele, making it attractive to older couples looking to wed. Almost all of Holland America's ships have dedicated chapels.

Holland America Wedding Package Details:

Weddings start at $1,800 for HAL's onboard At Sea Symbolic ceremony with up to eight guests on all sailings. That price includes an onsite wedding coordinator, a ship officer to perform the ceremony, flowers for the couple, a bottle of sparkling wine, a small wedding cake, a commemorative photo album, recorded music and a keepsake wedding certificate.

The line also has two additional wedding packages with increasingly stepped-up amenities for either legal or symbolic ceremonies at select ports in North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The Anchors Away Harborside package, starting at $2,000, adds priority check-in for the couple and their guests, and photography services.

The Ashore package comes in a wide range of price points depending on your destination of choice. At the lower end of the spectrum are weddings on HAL's private island, Half Moon Cay. Pricier options include Sydney and Santorini.

The Coolest Perk of a HAL Cruise Wedding:

Holland America offers special wedding extras when at least eight staterooms are booked for an At Sea Symbolic or Anchors Away Harborside wedding through its Group Advantage Program. The bride and groom get a free stateroom upgrade for 16 guests. The entire group receives lunch at Pinnacle Grill (Holland America's upscale alternative restaurant), a private wine tasting and chocolate-covered strawberries, plus a bottle of in-room Champagne.

Holland America Cruise Wedding Caveat:

Expect surcharges for the following dates: December 24 to January 4, February 11 to February 18 and all of May and June.

9. Cunard Line Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose a Cunard Cruise Wedding?

Cunard can offer you a Royal Ceremony at Sea on board the majority of its voyages and on any of its ships. Couples are drawn to the line's historic charm, formality and British influence, all of which make for a timeless experience. If it's classic romance you're after, a Cunard cruise wedding is probably the right choice for you.

Cunard Cruise Wedding Package Details;

The line's at-sea wedding package is one of the pricier base rates on this list, starting at $3,300. It includes a choice of ceremony venue, a ceremony officiated by the captain, priority check-in (and disembarkation for the bridal couple), an onboard wedding coordinator, two floral arrangements for the ceremony, traditional wedding music (recorded, although live music such as a pianist, harpist or string quartet is available for a fee), commemorative wedding certificate, a bottle of Champagne, couple’s breakfast in bed, and dinner for two in the ship’s steakhouse.

Reception packages for lunch or dinner service can be arranged at onboard dining venues like The Verandah, Todd English or Britannia, depending on the ship. There are additional possibilities for canapes and cocktail receptions, too.

Coolest Perk of a Cunard Cruise Wedding:

Wedding packages on Cunard include some above-and-beyond extras, like a White Star Bellman to escort the bride to the ceremonial room and pressing service for bridal outfits.

Cunard Cruise Wedding Caveat:

Weddings can only take place on sea days and on cruises lasting at least seven nights. There are only two time slots available for ceremonies daily (late morning and mid-afternoon). Wedding parties with more than 20 guests are limited to the morning slot. Additional cake, flowers and photography services are available for a fee. The marriage license is not included and the fee is one of the highest out there.

10. MSC Cruise Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Why Choose an MSC Cruise Wedding?

MSC weddings allow couples sailing in the Caribbean to legally tie the knot onboard or ashore with its wedding packages. Couples aren't required to be married before the sailing, nor do they have to worry about bringing legal documents onboard.

MSC Cruise Wedding Package Details:

There are four MSC wedding packages: Classic, Romantic, Deluxe, and an Ocean Cay Celebration. The Classic option includes a pre-cruise wedding consultant, recorded music, flowers for the couple, a symbolic certificate signed by the captain, cake and Champagne toasts for up to 6 guests, and stateroom decorations, as well as one hour of photography.

The Romantic and Deluxe packages add additional photography services, a larger cake, specialty dinner, and even pre-wedding salon services for the couple. An MSC wedding on Ocean Cay features a blend of the three onboard packages, with a ceremony taking place in the wedding pavilion adorned with flowers on the line’s private island.

Couples can customize either package by upgrading with photography and videography services, music, fresh flowers, food and beverages, specialty items such as favors and aisle runners, transportation for shoreside events, and personalized stationery for announcements and invitations.

Coolest Perk of an MSC Cruise Wedding:

For a wedding photo to remember, couples can opt to have their pictures snapped on MSC's dazzling Swarovski crystal-encrusted staircases.

MSC Cruise Wedding Caveat:

MSC's North America-based ships offer only symbolic onboard wedding ceremonies.

Planning A Disney Cruise Wedding in 2023

Related articles, 10 creative wedding decor ideas you can’t miss, the ultimate guide to choosing your perfect wedding venue.

Around 5,000 couples get married at Disney every year, including at the resorts in Florida and Hawaii, international theme parks, and aboard Disney cruise ships. A Disney wedding at sea is a truly special choice for your big day. By taking care to plan your cruise wedding carefully, you can ensure it goes off without a hitch.

Booking your cruise

Disney cruises are popular – so it’s crucial to book your dates well in advance, particularly if your wedding coincides with peak travel times. If you prefer to avoid crowds, don’t book during school breaks, summer, or holiday weekends – Disney cruises are most popular during these times. Disney Cruise Line offers a range of itineraries to choose from spanning anywhere from three days to two weeks. The Disney Dream, in particular, is a nice choice for weddings; it departs from PortMiami in Florida, and provides a mix of 3-, 4-, and 5-day sailings – therefore providing a convenient and affordable option for your guests. Alternatively, you may want to opt for a themed cruise to make your big day extra memorable. Marvel Day At Sea, Very Merrytime, Halloween On The High Seas, or New Year’s Eve are some of the amazing themed cruises on offer. Themed cruises are, however, especially popular and book-up fast, so you’ll need to get in early to avoid disappointment – booking is possible as early as roughly 18 months prior to the departure date.

Taking care of key wedding details

It’s natural you’ll want to look and feel your best on your big day. And, onboard salon services, including, manicures, pedicures, and hair styling are available to help make you photo ready. Keep in mind, however, makeup services aren’t provided, while you also won’t know if the beauty team can produce the exact look you have in mind until you meet them in person – so, as such, you should ideally bring your own glam squad onboard with you to avoid disappointment. Moreover, your wedding rings are, of course, another key consideration – be sure you don’t forget to pack them! If you and your fiance have similar tastes, matching couple’s rings are a nice choice . Matching rings not only look stylish, but also are a special way to symbolize your union.

Booking your photographer

You’ll also need to book your wedding photographer – ideally, not long after booking your wedding package. This way, you not only ensure your dream photographer is free on your cruise dates, but you’ll also help keep their travel fees down. Although Disney Cruise Line does offer photo packages, your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life – you don’t want to leave the photos up to chance. By arranging for your own photographer, you can rest assured your wedding photos turn out just as you hoped.

A Disney cruise is a truly special destination for your wedding. By booking the right cruise and photographer, along with taking care of key details, you can organize the wedding of your dreams.

  • Additionally, at a predetermined time prior to your wedding date, your full minimum expenditure is due (payable by money order or credit card).

Overall, Disney weddings average around $30,000 but can be done for $15,000 or lower with careful planning and guest limits. Peak times and popular venues raise costs, but Disney’s team helps couples maximize their budget.

Budget Tips

While Disney weddings are a major production, there are ways to cut costs for a more affordable fairy tale event.

  • Guest list: Limit your guests to your nearest and dearest. Disney weddings often charge per person for food and beverage, so fewer guests means lower costs.
  • Bridal party:  Skip the huge bridal party and attendants. Focus on you and your partner.
  • Weekday wedding:  Hold your wedding on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for lower ceremony fees and minimums.
  • Morning wedding:  Schedule your ceremony for the morning before parks open for lower pricing.
  • Venue:  Avoid the most iconic (and expensive) spots like Cinderella Castle and find a more affordable location.
  • Food:  Opt for brunch or lunch menus rather than a plated dinner, or choose food stations over a seated meal.
  • Extras:  Skip expensive add-ons like fireworks viewing parties and focus your budget on priorities like flowers and photography.

With strategic planning, you can have a gorgeous Disney wedding without breaking the bank. Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons team can help make your dream wedding a reality, no matter your budget.

If you’ve been searching for the perfect Disney-inspired wedding dress, the all-new 2023 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection is here! The collection just launched with a magical live fashion show at Disneyland Resort, giving brides-to-be a sneak peek of the designs they can shop at stores nationwide.

But that’s not all: Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons also unveiled some exciting news about changes and magical details coming throughout 2023. If you’re planning a wedding (or just can’t get enough wedding content!), discover all of the details right here.

Watch the 2023 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection Fashion Show

The 2023 Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection is now available, and it was unveiled in a spectacular way with a live fashion show featuring content creators like Karlie Place, Toni Bravo, Courtney Quinn, Allison Bickerstaff, and Janette Ok. If you didn’t tune in live, you can still see all of the gorgeous bridal designs as they premiere in front of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle below:

This collection, which was created with Allure Bridal, includes 21 brand-new wedding dresses. Each one is inspired by a different Disney princess, with gowns that evoke the style, stories, and spirit of Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Tiana.

If you spot the perfect wedding dress during the show, you can make plans to shop and see it in person! You can find the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection at bridal stores that sell Allure Bridal across the U.S. and online.

Exciting Changes Are Coming to Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons

If the glittering, gorgeous new collection of Disney-inspired wedding dresses wasn’t enough, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons also shared some big news about happenings planned for 2023 during the fashion show. Here’s a look at the most exciting updates.

A Collection of Bridesmaid Dresses Will Be Released This Year

For the first time, this year’s Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection will expand – and it’ll go beyond bridal gowns! A new bridesmaid collection is coming , featuring gowns that pair perfectly with the princess-inspired creations available for brides.

During the fashion show, viewers got their first glimpse of one of the new bridesmaid dresses in this collection, an Aurora-inspired dress in the iconic pink and blue color palette. In total, the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection for bridesmaids will feature nine different dresses. And each will be designed with inspiration pulled from the personalities, essence, and stories of Disney Princess characters. And of course, you’ll spot subtle design cues that complement each bridal gown!

This new bridesmaid line will be available in fall 2023. It will mark the very first highly-anticipated expansion beyond bridalwear for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.

A New Coach is Coming to Disneyland Resort

If there’s a symbol of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, it’s the iconic horse-drawn carriage. Brides can arrive at their wedding venues inside the carriage (or coach), just like Cinderella arrived at the ball. And this year, Disneyland Resort is getting a brand-new coach!

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings has revealed the design of a new horse-drawn carriage that’ll be available for weddings at Disneyland Resort starting in fall 2023. This new coach is directly inspired by Cinderella’s love story, with handcrafted platinum and gold detailing, a pumpkin canopy, and an interior covered in delicate vines.

This new coach will give couples three carriages to choose from, including the Cinderella Coach at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disney Fairy Tale Carriage at Disneyland Resort.

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Will Celebrate Disney100 with Over 100 Venues

A Guide to Renewing Your Vows with Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Whether you’ve been dreaming of a vow renewal with Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, you’re just starting to consider renewing your vows with Disney, or you don’t even know what a vow renewal is – we’re here to help! We’re sharing everything you need to know about planning a vow renewal with Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.

WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A VOW RENEWAL?

Every couple’s love story is unique, and they will have different reasons for wanting to reaffirm their love for one another - but our Disney Weddings team has definitely noticed some common themes.

Celebrate Love

Love is worth celebrating! Couples may choose to host a vow renewal simply because they want to honor their unique love story. Renewing your vows is a wonderful way for couples to commemorate the life they’ve shared and officially recommit to one another.

Missed Experiences

For some couples, it may be an opportunity recapture missed moments. Whether they’re looking to create an experience that more accurately reflects who they are as a couple, they have more resources now to celebrate bigger and bolder, or perhaps, like so many couples these past few years, they never had the chance to truly celebrate their love in the first place.

Bring the Family Together

Another great reason couples might choose to host a vow renewal is the chance to bring their children and family together. There is something extra special about celebrating your love with the extension of your love – your children (and even your grandchildren)!

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

WHEN SHOULD YOU RENEW YOUR VOWS?

Traditionally, vow renewals are thought of as taking place on milestone anniversaries - but now, vow renewals can happen whenever it feels right for you and your love story.

Traditional Milestone Anniversaries

Vow renewals have often been celebrated at intervals of 2, 5, 10, 25, or 50 years. This can help guide you along your vow renewal planning journey and give you and your family something to look forward to.

Recent Vow Renewal Trends

However, the past few years have been full of elopements and micro weddings, sparking a new trend where couples bring their family and friends together for a big celebration just a short amount of time after getting married – without needing a milestone year to do so.

Growing Families

A great time to host a vow renewal is after introducing new members to your family, like your children. It’s extra special to celebrate your love as a couple and your growth as a family with your kids.

Significant Life Transitions

Just as vow renewals are a great way to celebrate adding new members to the family, they can be great in celebration of other significant life transitions as well – like becoming grandparents, or in celebration of new careers and big moves.

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

WHAT IS A VOW RENEWAL WITH DISNEY’S FAIRY TALE WEDDINGS LIKE?

Celebrating a vow renewal with Disney Weddings can be whatever you envision it to be – whether that’s an intimate ceremony or a fun-filled, multi-day celebration. But, there’s a couple of reasons that make hosting a vow renewal at Disney extra special.

A destination with significant meaning for the entire family

Disney destinations are a place that hold significant meaning for many couples and their families. From fond family vacations, to movie nights at home, and playtime with the kids – Disney has been a part of their story and so celebrating with Disney Weddings holds a sense of nostalgia and familiarity that makes this event a little more magical.

Something for everyone

Whether it’s Disney park days with the entire family, a round of golf with the guys, Character dining experiences with the kids, or lounging by the resort pools – there’s so much to do during the week of your vow renewal. You can really make it a friends and family vacation!

A dedicated planning team

With Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, you have a dedicated planning team who are committed to providing an elevated, magical experience for you and your guests that feels authentic to your love story and the experience you want to create for your family and friends. The atrium miniature ship offers unique and enchanting settings to exchange your vows. They all have an elegant staircase as well as an awe-inspiring chandelier that makes the venue look magical, but you’re probably wondering what makes them all so different. Well, let’s break it down a bit further and take a look. If you look at the carpet design, you’ll notice that the magic incorporates a seashell while the wonder has water lilies. You’ll also notice that the staircase on these ships come around a site angle so if the bride does choose to walk down for an entrance, the crowd and girl won’t get a full view of her until she makes it all the way down which then This boat does not yet have sisters, but in the coming years she is expected to gain two, hopefully new sisters rather than two new stepsisters vying for a spotlight oh god fairy godmother please help us off we don’t want an anastasia and the druzella tremaine taking over the disney cruise my name is anastasia where have you been slacking off again mother our troubles are over a stick no no no what makes this atrium stand out from the rest is that the chandelier itself represents the shooting star which is known for wishes coming true and it is also symbolic to marriages in a way another cool thing about the disney wish is that the staircase that leads into the grand hall is actually two stories tall so this really makes for a unique entrance if the bride chooses to walk down it the bride will first come down at a side angle and is almost hidden away from the crowd when she enters the second floor she can stop for a moment and wave to the crowd as seen here by one of our most recent brides then the crowd can get a frontal view of her as she continues down the stairway i promise if you do choose to do this route walking down the stairs in a big ballroom dress isn’t as intimidating as it may seem the stairs aren’t as steep as you think and the railings are there for you to hold on to for guidance if you take it real slow i promise you’ll be a-okay if i can do it you can do it too plus the slower you go the longer your entrance song will play and hey that’s a bonus too anyway that’s it for this episode a lot of you have asked me about the atriums and the bridal entrances so i hope this was helpful we’ll go over other venue options onboard the disney cruise line in a future article remember my name is crystal and i’m here to get your wedding plans on cruise control we’ll see you real a simple you.

Disney Cruise Wedding Planning & Tips

❓ Can a captain lead a wedding ceremony on a Disney Cruise?

For example, Disney Cruise Line captains can lead wedding ceremonies onboard or at Castaway Cay. However, because senior officers can't perform legal ceremonies, the actual legal marriage (and paperwork signing) must occur in the cruise terminal before the ship leaves Port Canaveral -- not terribly romantic.

You can do some excellent pre-budgeting by viewing different stateroom options and figuring out which category will suit you best. For example, you can choose to have an inside room with an ocean view, a veranda, or a concierge. To sum it up, having the flexibility to look at different costs is a huge plus because then you’ll know up front there are no additional fees unless, of course, you decide to add on any other enhancements to your wedding. Disney gives you a set price per person. The planning is pretty straightforward, and there is minimal stress because they will walk you through every step of the way. Now on to the cons of having a destination wedding. The downside to this, as i’m sure it is with any other destination wedding, is that not everyone will be able to attend, and that is something really big to consider as the unfortunate truth, especially when it comes to getting an airline ticket, booking a hotel, finding transportation, taking time off from work, and committing to spending at least three or four nights away from home. Another con is that you’ll be limited to the amount of customization you can do for your wedding. For example, I couldn’t bring real candles, face backdrops, or hanging lights for my wedding What I could bring were guest books. small figurine pedals small billboards Some fun signs and light selling decor I’m sure there are more items you could bring just check with your specialists as they’ll know best so yes there are pros and cons to having a destination wedding so make sure you weigh out your options and figure out what’s best for you and your future husband because at the end of the day it’s about you too and only you too well that’s it for this article remember my name is Crystal and I’m here to help you get your wedding.

Disney Cruise Wedding Planning & Tips

Sail into “happily ever after” with a fairytale wedding, vow renewal, civil union or commitment ceremony during your Disney cruise—or experience the magic of a honeymoon at sea. Say “I Do”... At Sea or On Disney Castaway Cay.

❓ Is it hard to plan a Disney Cruise?

Planning a Disney Cruise doesn’t have to be hard. In fact, one of my favorite parts of taking a Disney Cruise is the ease of planning the vacation. (The hardest part will be picking where you want to sail!) But if you’re new to Disney Cruise Line or cruising in general, here’s your ultimate guide to planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation.

***** hey everyone, it’s krista lee, and in today’s article we’ll be talking about what I chose to have my very own fairy tail budding cruise when my husband and I were in the process of figuring out where he wanted to get married it was a very difficult decision for us to make, mainly because we both come from two different religious backgrounds, he is buddhist and I am catholic, and as a result we had many talks back and forth trying to figure out Besides that, Disney is shockingly affordable to get married through because when you look at the cost of what it is to have a traditional wedding, the balance between both is almost the same. As I have mentioned in previous articles, the Disney Cruise Line makes everything so easy for your wedding because everything comes as a package so you don’t have to worry about finding your own vendors besides the great perks Disney has to offer with the premade packages. Getting married on a cruise was a two-for-one deal for us and our guests because it was a vacation and wedding at the same time. On a big ship, there’s so much to do that I’m sure everyone will plan an activity to enjoy so I doubt anyone will get bored for more information on connecting with your guests and planning activities while on board, please watch episode 14. Having a travel agent help your guests plan their trip was another big bonus, especially since we were all from out of state for the crisis going out of Port Canaveral. They have an online website called GoPort.com where you and your guests can book a hotel next to the airport that includes transportation to and from the park. This is a huge stress relief because then everyone is together and accounted for the entire time throughout the transportation process from land to sea, which also helps eliminate any chance of any one of us getting lost. To sum it all up, Getting married on a cruise was perfect for us and it could work perfect for you as well. What I’m Trying to Say is that when planning a Disney wedding, you may feel like it’s really far out of reach at first, but when you start to break down the process, you too can make this dream a reality. Remember, my name is Crystal, and I’m here to get your wedding plans on cruise control. We’ll see you real soon, pal.

Cruise weddings ”

  • A great place to start is by checking out Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings to see what is currently offered in their Cruise Weddings collection across the Disney Cruise Line fleet. When we were deciding between a wedding on land or at sea I found it useful to learn from real couples on the Ever After Blog and the Disney Wedding Podcast to find out more about their experiences and what to expect, as well as following Disney Weddings on social media and DisBrides planning groups to share the latest updates on offerings and what they cost .
  • In my planning experience over the past few years you can expect everything from the wedding venues on board or on Disney Castaway Cay to be subject to availability with no guarantee; this may also be dependent on weather or sea conditions - not to mention whether the ship will be able to dock or make it to the private island itself. (We took this all into consideration when we managed our planning expectations.)
  • At the present time, couples looking to tie the knot on the open seas are required to first book their sailing before adding on their wedding celebration ; I highly recommend using a travel agent to help organize and reserve this - especially if you're looking to invite a number of friends and family as well as any additional vendors for photography, videography or styling that couples may bring on board as their guests. It's important to remember that depending on the length of your cruise and its itinerary, there are only a limited number of wedding slots available on each voyage competing for popular venues and times!
  • A few things that tend to come with Disney Cruise Line wedding packages include a dedicated onboard ceremony coordinator, personal fresh floral for the couple, an officiant (who is often a higher-ranking officer from various departments on board as the Captain typically does not perform these), a solo pianist and what is known as a Cake & Champagne Celebration  generally scheduled for an hour immediately following the ceremony. Currently these packages also include dinner for the couple at a speciality dining location such as Palo as well as complimentary steaming for ceremony attire to be collected at the beginning of the voyage and delivered by the big day!

How Much Does a Disney Wedding Cost?

There are many expenses involved in a magical wedding at Walt Disney World Resort, including the venue, catering, photographer, decorations, entertainment, and more. But how much does a Disney wedding cost when all is said and done? Here’s everything you need to know about Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and what you can expect to pay.

Before the Disney Wedding Cost, What are Disney Fairy Tale Weddings?

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons  is a program that offers wedding and honeymoon services at Walt Disney World Resort. Whatever your dream wedding venue is, they have it, from an outdoor wedding garden to waterside vistas to Castle backdrops. Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings will help you fulfill your dreams of getting married at Disney World.

You can contact them directly or connect with an experienced  Disney vacation planner  to help you plan and book every aspect of your Disney World wedding at  no cost . We recommend the Disney experts at The Vacationeer. Find out more about Disney weddings and get a free quote  HERE !

What is the Minimum Cost of a Walt Disney World Wedding?

If you’re planning on tying the knot at Disney World, you may wonder how much it will cost.

Disney World’s minimum wedding event fee starts at $7,500 and reaches $50,000, depending on the venue, day of the week, and event time.  For example, if you want to get married at Magic Kingdom on a Saturday evening, the minimum spend will be much higher than if you choose to get married at a Disney resort on a Wednesday morning.

The cost of a Disney dream destination wedding will also depend on how many guests you invite, taxes, gratuities, and other factors — but the  lowest  base price will cost at least $7,500.

Of course, there are ways to save money on your Disney wedding. You can opt for a less popular venue or time slot, invite fewer people, or choose to have your reception off-site. No matter your budget, there’s sure to be a Disney dream wedding perfect for you.

What is the Average Cost of a Disney World Wedding?

Walt Disney World Resort weddings range between $7,500 and $100,000, but the average cost of a Disney wedding is around $30,000.

The costs of Disney weddings depend on a variety of factors. For example, a comprehensive wedding package involving a premier venue, peak date and time, catering, flowers, music, entertainment, transportation, and many guests can cost more than twice as much as the average. On the other hand, an off-peak wedding without many extras can be considerably less expensive than the average.

What is the Cost Structure of a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding?

For Walt Disney World, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings has a unique pricing structure. Essentially, the team at Disney Weddings will set an event minimum expenditure limit that you must meet.  That event minimum is determined by the ceremony venue you want to use, the day of the week, and the time of day you want to get married.

Generally, lower minimums apply to weekdays, while higher minimums apply to holidays and weekends.

Besides the cost of your Disney wedding venue, Disney Wedding Services can help you meet your minimum event budget. Food and beverage, wedding photography, floral arrangement, decor, transportation, and entertainment are all Disney Wedding Services that you may use to satisfy your event minimum expenditure. Below we will discuss these topics in greater detail.

Event Minimums at Disney Wedding Venues

Different venues have different event minimums. The least expensive venues have event minimums between $7,500 and $10,000 (with ceremony venue fees of $3,500). These include Conch Key Marina and Crescent Cove.

The majority of Disney World’s wedding venues have an event minimum of between $10,000 and $20,000. Venues in this tier include locations throughout the park and in Epcot’s World Showcase.

At Disney’s Yacht Club Resort’s Shipwrecked Bay (along Crescent Lake), for example, there is an event minimum of $10,000 to $20,000, depending on the wedding date (which includes a $5,000 venue fee).

On the higher end, Disney’s Wedding Pavilion has a $6,000 wedding venue fee with an event minimum of $12,500 to $35,000.

Some theme park locations are available, such as Tower of Terror, Tree of Life, and Pandora, with minimums of between $15,000 and $25,000.

The three most expensive wedding venues are at Magic Kingdom, with ceremony fees ranging from $15,000 to $30,000 and event minimums ranging from $20,000 to $50,000.

It is crucial to remember that your event minimum can include many costs. For example, if you want to get married in the Magic Kingdom East Plaza, the event minimum would range between $20,000 and $50,000 depending on the time of day you get married, the date you want to get married, and other factors. In addition, the event minimum will include the $25,000 venue fee and any additional fees you decide to add, such as food, decorations, flowers, and entertainment options.

With that overview, let’s look at the wedding venue locations in more detail.

Locations and Costs of Disney World Wedding Venues

Walt Disney World Resort offers more than two dozen wedding venues. Below we list the locations you can choose from, the event minimum range, the ceremony fee, and a short description of the actual wedding location.

How Much Does Food Cost at a Disney Wedding?

The Food & Beverage Services wedding package can include any combination of pre-reception, reception, wedding cake, and bar service. A per-person minimum is required for this service.

Disney currently imposes per-person minimums for brunch, lunch, and dinner based on the event time. The base prices can increase as you add more features.

Disney wedding food and beverage minimum fees are as follows :

  • $140 per person for brunch
  • $175 per person for lunch
  • $210 per person for dinner

You’ll also need to account for the 6.5% sales tax and 25% labor/gratuity service charge.

Food and beverage options for Disney weddings include:

  • Plated Menus:  You can serve your wedding guests various delicious courses at their table with this traditional dining option.
  • Buffet and Food Station Menus:  Guests can enjoy various sumptuous flavors and tasty treats with buffets and food stations.
  • Beverage Service Options:  Various beverage service options are available for your event, including hosted bar packages, hosted bars, and cash bars.
  • Desserts:  You can enhance your event with specialty sweets or a dessert party featuring menus inspired by the magical setting.
  • Cakes:  Choose one of the specialty cakes or have a design created just for you to sweeten your celebration.

What does Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Include?

A Disney wedding requires a minimum expenditure amount. In addition, there are separate fees for every aspect of a Disney wedding. Still, you can combine these fees to reach your minimum spending requirement.

Because everything is paid separately, Disney fairy tale weddings technically do not include anything.  However, everything you add to your wedding package will count towards meeting your event cost minimum. Still, it’s not included and will cost you. In addition, it is necessary to pay a venue fee for the ceremony and a food minimum per guest. But Disney Wedding Services are added at your discretion.

It’s Disney, so you can arrange for Mickey and Minnie (or other Disney characters) to visit your wedding or arrange for Cinderella’s coach to arrive at your ceremony. Additionally, you can add themed decor for the ceremony and reception, arrange for a private fireworks display, hire entertainers, arrange special portrait sessions, etc.

Disney doesn’t list prices online for many of its special extras , so you’ll have to speak with a Disney specialist about them.  Contact The Vacationeer  to start planning your Disney wedding today.

What Elements Can You Add to a Disney Wedding?

A Disney wedding can include various features, depending on what you and your fiancé want. For example, you can add special touches to your wedding day with a horse-drawn carriage ride, a fireworks display, or even a visit from some of your favorite Disney characters.

As part of your Disney Weddings minimum expenditure, you can use the Ceremony Venue Fee as well as any or all of the following Disney Weddings Service elements:

Food & Beverage Services are subject to a minimum order per person based on the time of the event, which includes pre-reception, reception, cake, and bar service. A minimum of $140 per person is required for brunch, $175 for lunch, and $210 for dinner.

Photo and Video

Skilled photographers and videographers will capture every magical moment at your Disney wedding. Specialty portrait sessions are also available. Prices vary depending on the services provided.

Choose the bouquet and embellishments that will best reflect your wedding theme. Then, let Disney’s floral designers create boutonnieres, corsages, and bouquets for your bridesmaids. The price of wedding flowers and floral arrangements varies according to the package you select.

Entertainment

Whether you want classical music, lively bands, or a modern DJ, you will find the music to make your Disney wedding magical.

Also available are comedic and theatrical actors and fun enhancements like private fireworks and confetti cannons!

For an additional fee and extra Disney magic, you can invite Mickey, Minnie, and other Disney characters to your wedding reception, which is sure to delight guests of all ages.

Transportation

Live out the fairytale by arriving at your wedding in Cinderella’s coach, pulled by stately ponies. If you prefer, a Landau coach drawn by a quarter horse and chauffeured by a man in a formal morning coat can transport you to your wedding ceremony.

If you prefer something with an engine, you can rent a vintage Rolls-Royce, a Ford Model A, or a limousine for your wedding. For larger wedding parties, you can rent motorcoaches to shuttle guests between resorts and the wedding venue.

Costs vary based on the services provided.

Remember, the add-on costs listed above will count toward your Disney World wedding minimum fee. Whatever you choose, a Disney wedding will surely be unforgettable!

How Far Out Can You Book a Disney Wedding?

The answer to this question depends on several factors, including which Disney Wedding venue you select and whether or not you are booking a peak season date.

You can book your Disney World wedding ceremony and full reception up to one year in advance . It is possible to book other wedding events up to 10 months in advance.

Early booking will ensure you have the best choice of dates and venues.

This content aims to be informative and helpful in planning your dream Disney wedding. For more official Disney information about booking a wedding, don’t hesitate to contact  The Vacationeer . They will be able to provide you with tailored information and assistance based on your individual needs and preferences.

How Much Does It Cost to Get Married in Front of Cinderella Castle?

A wedding in front of Cinderella Castle is a Disney fan’s dream come true. You have several options if you want to get married near this iconic Walt Disney World location, but it will cost you a pretty penny. Event minimums range from $20,000 – $50,000 depending on the location, date, and time of day.

The three Magic Kingdom wedding venues for Disney Fairytale Weddings are:

Located in  Magic Kingdom East Plaza , this outdoor wedding venue features floral arrangements and chairs with the Castle as a backdrop. The Ceremony Venue Fee is $25,000.

At the Magic Kingdom Train Station , Cinderella Castle and the train station combine to create an idyllic fairytale wedding setting. The Ceremony Venue Fee is $15,000.

  • Weddings at Magic Kingdom After Hours are private and magical, with rows of chairs and flowers and, of course, the Castle as a background. The Ceremony Venue Fee is $30,000.

If your dream is to marry at the most magical place on earth, it may be worth the splurge.

Can You Secretly Get Married at Disney World?

While it might technically be  possible  to have a secret wedding at Disney World, it’s unlikely to be permitted, so we don’t recommend it. Anything that draws attention runs the risk of being shut down, and nobody wants their Disney wedding interrupted by Security! In addition, Disney World is considered private property, and blatant rule violations can result in ejection from Disney parks and even criminal trespass warnings.

Engagements, on the other hand, are fair game. They often happen all around Disney World, usually without any prior coordination with Disney. For example, several people spontaneously pop the question  daily  in front of Cinderella Castle. Of course, if you want to do something extra special, there are plenty of options, from organizing something ahead of time at restaurants to paying for “ enchanting extras .” Note that Disney characters will  not  participate in the “asking” portion of a marriage proposal, but for a price, they can undoubtedly help celebrate after the proposal is accepted.

How Much Is It to Rent Out Disney for a Day?

Guests cannot  rent out Walt Disney World Resort  in its entirety. There would be significant disruption to how travelers book and plan their trips if the resort was closed for a day.

How Can You Save Money on a Disney Wedding?

The cost of your Disney World wedding will depend on factors like the venue, the time of year you choose to get married, and how many guests you plan on inviting. If you’re looking to save money, opt for an off-season wedding or book your event mid-week when  crowds  are smaller and prices are lower.

You can also save money by DIYing some decorations and using cheaper alternatives to traditional wedding items. Check with Disney or The Vacationeer to confirm what you can and cannot bring into the Disney park.

Overall, it is possible to have a beautiful and magical Disney World wedding without breaking the bank. No matter what options and pricing you decide on, a Disney wedding will be an unforgettable experience for you and your guests!

The  cost of honeymoons at Disney  is significantly lower than weddings, so you may want to consider getting married somewhere else and then spending your first week as newlyweds at Walt Disney World. There are plenty of  romantic Disney resorts for couples  and  fun  and  free things  to do  for adults .

Are There Other Disney Wedding options besides Disney World?

Of course! You can get married at other Walt Disney Company destinations, such as having a wedding at Disneyland in California, Aulani in Hawaii, and even Disney Cruise line weddings. Reach out to your Disney travel provider for all the options and learn how to start your own fairy tale today!

Choosing the Perfect Disney Wedding Location

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

Alright, folks, it’s time for a magical whirlwind tour of your potential Disney wedding locations. After all, choosing the perfect spot to say “I do” is no small feat. But don’t worry – I’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about venues and pricing. So buckle up and let’s Goofy-foot our way through this!

Walt Disney World vs Disneyland

Ah, yes – the age-old dilemma of Walt Disney World in Florida versus Disneyland in California. While both parks offer unforgettable experiences, remember that the cost for your dream wedding will vary based on their different locations.

Walt Disney World tends to be more budget-flexible, with ceremonies starting at just $5,000. Meanwhile, those enchanted nuptials at Disneyland have a starting price of $15,000. So if you’re trying to keep your purse strings in check – like Cinderella after shopping for pumpkin carriages – consider opting for Florida’s sun-soaked park.

Venue options and pricing

Let’s talk all things venue-related! At both Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts, there are plenty of options that cater to a range of budgets and styles.

For minimalists who adore serene waterfront scenes, feast your eyes on the Conch Key Marina or Luau Pointe (starting around $5k!). Want something extravagantly regal? The Disney Wedding Pavilion ranges from $10k to $35k.

But wait – there’s more! If you truly crave an unparalleled fairy tale experience without a fairy godmother bankrolling it (we wish!), imagine exchanging vows with Cinderella Castle as your backdrop. Be warned though: this picturesque scene at Magic Kingdom can set you back between $20k and $50k.

By now, you’ve dipped your toes into the enchanting world of Disney wedding venues and pricing. As always with any dream-come-true affair: choose wisely and make it uniquely yours! After all, this is where your storybook romance begins.

Understanding Event Minimums and Ceremony Fees

Alright, my Disney-loving friends, now that we’ve explored wedding locations and venues, it’s time to discuss the finer details of event minimums and ceremony fees. Trust me – understanding these costs will help you gain a better grasp of your overall budget. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right into the magical world of moolah matters!

Factors affecting event minimums

You might be wondering: what on Earth is an event minimum? Simply put, it’s the lowest total cost for your wedding experience at Disney. Factors that affect this number include venue choice (we discussed that earlier!), day of the week (Mickey Mouse Mondays are typically cheaper than Snow White Saturdays), and even time of day.

Food and beverage selections also contribute to the magic number: opting for brunch might save you some money compared to a full-on dinner feast! The good news is that by mastering these variables, you can create a tailor-made experience within your budget.

How ceremony fees contribute to total cost

As if managing Mickey finance wasn’t enough, we mustn’t forget about the ceremony fees! These costs primarily depend on your chosen venue and whether it’s a prime or non-prime date – and they go towards meeting those crucial event minimums we chatted about earlier.

For example, imagine getting married in the enchanting Disney Wedding Pavilion with an average ceremony fee ranging from $4k to $6k. Just keep in mind that this only covers the use of your dream location – decor, food & beverage minimums as well as entertainment options still need factoring in.

Finding the Right Disney Wedding Package for You

Now that we’ve dipped our toes into the magic-infused pool of Disney wedding costs, from venues to ceremony fees, let’s embrace our inner Fairy Godmother as we transform mere dreams into reality with Disney wedding packages. With customizable options for budgets and styles alike, I promise something magical awaits around every corner!

Memories, Escape, and Wishes packages explained

Poof! Pumpkin carriages welcome you to three splendid package options: Memories, Escape, and Wishes. Let’s dive into what each one has to offer:

1) The Memories package is ideal for intimate affairs with a guest count of up to 4 (excluding the lovebirds) starts at $3,500.

2) An Escape package caters up to 18 guests (including the couple), featuring an average price range of $7k – $10k.

3) For the ultimate fairy tale festivity – enter the Wishes Package starting at approximately $12k (with no guest cap!).

Each package consists of various combos of services like photography, officiants, cake & beverages. Your task? Weighing each option’s charm against its price.

Customizing your package to fit your budget

Your Disney wedding should be a reflection of your unique love story – and that includes customization! The beauty of these enticing packages lies in their adaptability; imagine working closely with a stellar team of Disney wedding planners to achieve an unforgettable dream-styled day without leaving anyone bibbidi-bobbidi-broke.

From adding extra enchantment like Cinderella-worthy glass slippers on your cake or selecting affordable food alternatives (who doesn’t fancy finger sandwiches?), personalize your experience as creatively as you wish!

Disney weddings are all about transforming fantasies into once-in-a-lifetime celebrations. With these glittering guidelines on hand (and perhaps a spoonful of sugar!), you’ll have what it takes to craft the perfect magical melding of dreams and budgets.

Catering and Food Options: What’s Included and What’s Extra?

It’s time to take a scrumptious journey through the land of Disney wedding cuisine – where love and taste buds intertwine in fantastical harmony! We’ll discover how catering and food options can impact your big day’s bottom line, so grab your fork (or quill) and prepare for a flavorful experience!

The impact of time of day: brunch, lunch, or dinner

Did you know that the banquet hour at your Disney extravaganza can sway overall costs? Serving up an earlier meal like brunch could be friendlier to your budget compared to a traditional dinner.

For example, brunch meals come with prices ranging between $100-$150 per person, while evening feasts may easily double those numbers. Don’t forget that magical weekends will also bump up expenses! It’s crucial to weigh appetizing options wisely while keeping an eye on financial happily ever afters.

Food and beverage minimums

Now let’s talk about “foodtastic” fine print in more detail. You’ll need to meet specific food and beverage minimums depending on the venue, which are included in event minimums. Brunch typically hovers around $125 per person; meanwhile, lunch rings in at approximately $150 per person, and dinner sends those dollar signs climbing north of $175 per person.

However, don’t fret – as long as you’ve selected a package deal that accurately reflects your needs (remember our wonderful Memories, Escape, and Wishes?), navigating these costs should be smoother than Prince Charming moonwalking across Cinderella’s ballroom floor!

Aspiring Disney wedding planners: remember that customization is key – both regarding delicious delicacies served *and* their dollar impact! Flexibility mixed with culinary creativity will help you savor every moment without sacrificing flavor or enchantment.

Don’t Forget About Flowers, Music, and Entertainment!

Once upon a time, in a magical blog post just like this one, we encountered the enchanting realm of flowers, music, and entertainment options for a Disney wedding. So polish your tiara and don your dancing shoes – it’s time to uncover how these lovely extras can enhance your special day without summoning dragon-sized expenses!

Costs for different floral arrangements

Say it with me: every royal or fairy-tale-inspired shindig deserves spectacular blooms! Don’t forget that floral arrangements play their part in cost calculations. Expect to shell out anywhere from $500 for simpler bouquets to $3k (or more) for lavish centerpieces fit for Sleeping Beauty’s table.

Ultimately, it’s about striking that balance between “storybook blooming” dreams and financial reality to bring life to your unforgettable event.

Choosing music for the ceremony and reception

Will you be serenaded by starry-eyed singers? Perhaps having pianists tinkle away as your guests twirl? Or maybe hiring a DJ who makes the whole kingdom dance till dawn?

Musical delights consist of many flavors – and price tags! Live musicians could cost between $3k – $5k, while DJs may hover around the $1k – $2k range – so choose according to both ambiance preferences and budgetary constraints.

Add-on entertainment services

From photo booths filled with pixie-dusted props (averaging around $2k), quirky caricaturists at about $1k per four-hour session, to live performers like a roaming magician potentially costing you upwards of several thousand dollars – additional entertainment ‘spells’ can certainly add up!

Creating Your Fairy Tale Look: Attire and Photography

As we venture deeper into this Disney wedding planning realm, let’s not forget one crucial aspect: both you and your partner looking and feeling like true royalty! From dreamy dresses to capturing every precious moment, here’s how attire and photography come into play – with a splash of cost considerations sprinkled throughout.

Disney-inspired wedding dresses

Who hasn’t dreamed of walking down the aisle in a jaw-dropping gown? Waltzing into the world of Disney wedding fashion, prepare yourself for price tags that range from $1.2k to $10k (or more) for designer creations inspired by our beloved princesses .

While budget-conscious brides may need their Fairy Godmother’s assistance (aka wisdom) for these regal wears, remember that there are affordable alternatives out there that still exude enchantment!

Pricing for photography and videography packages

Those magical moments on your special day are priceless – but candidly capturing them often isn’t! Photography services usually fall between $3k-$5k+, while videography options can start at around $4k.

Be mindful of additional fees, such as extra hours or an engagement session , which might accompany these visual keepsake packages. But never fear! With careful planning and a hint of pixie dust, you’ll secure those memories in high-quality imagery without losing sight of budgetary bounds.

Transportation Options: Getting Around on Your Big Day

Let’s zoom into the wonderful world of Disney wedding transportation! In this part of our exciting cost journey, we’ll uncover how you and your guests can glide around with ease during your magical day. So fasten your seatbelts and soar through Disney skies as we discuss these helpful travel tidbits!

Options within park grounds

On your fairy tale wedding day, shuttling between venues is essential (and potentially dazzling!), but do consider the costs involved. From elegant horse-drawn carriages ($2.5k+) to whimsical monorail transport, you might need to wave your magic wand on various options – while staying in harmony with bank accounts, of course!

Keep in mind that not all locations offer specialty rides like Cinderella’s Carriage, but fear not – there are still plenty of customizable options for every magical style and budget.

Airport transportation services

Before anyone can start humming “Be Our Guest,” airport transfers should make it onto this enchanted itinerary – after all, that’s where most folks will arrive from lands far, far away!

Transporting a squad from Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) may involve hiring shuttle vans ($300-$600 each) or even booking a luxurious limo ($800+), depending on group size and preferences. But remember – practical alternatives like rideshare apps are also at your service when reigning in the realm of expenses.

Overall Strategies for Saving Money on a Disney Wedding

As we’ve discovered throughout this curated cost voyage, Disney weddings can comprise diverse elements with quite the range of expenses. So, let’s sprinkle a little pixie dust on smart financial strategies that can turn your happily-ever-after into reality – without leaving anyone feeling like they’re under Maleficent’s spell!

Deciding what’s essential vs non-priority items

The key to unlocking budget-friendly magic is prioritizing what truly matters to you and your lovebird. Start by listing everything you dream of incorporating and then categorize the need-to-haves, nice-to-haves, and those pesky “made-me-overspend” extras.

Remember, each couple has unique expectations for their fairy tale wedding – so always trust your instincts when conjuring up these wish lists.

Tips for making adjustments to reduce costs while keeping a magical experience

With priorities sorted like morning dew upon enchanted rose petals, it’s time for practicality! Here are some helpful tips:

  • Weekday Weddings and Off-Peak Seasons

Take a lesson from Cinderella – timing is everything! Opting for a weekday wedding can save you big, as Disney’s minimum expenditures are lower compared to weekends. Additionally, consider the off-peak seasons for cooler savings as well.

  • Choosing a Morning Ceremony

Look to Aurora for inspiration, and wake up early to exchange vows at sunrise! Mornings typically cost less than afternoons and evenings, letting your budget bask in the early sunlight.

  • Less Popular Venues & Time Slots

Think beyond Cinderella’s Castle – choosing a less popular venue or booking during non-prime hours could save you some royal treasure.

  • Trim the Guest List

Every Beauty needs her Beast – but not necessarily an entire kingdom of guests! Keep your guest list in check to reduce catering and reception costs without compromising your dream celebration.

  • Receptions Off-Site

Break free from the castle walls! Having your reception off site might not only be more affordable but also allows for unique celebrations that still ooze Disney magic!

  • DIY Floral & Decor Extravaganza

Channel your inner Rapunzel and get artsy with DIY floral arrangements and decorations. Personalize every nook of your wedding while preserving precious pennies!

  • Look Beyond Disney for Photo & Video Services

Fly farther than Neverland to find affordable photography and videography options outside of Disney’s offerings – after all, capturing those special moments shouldn’t break the bank!

  • Tap into Digital Discounts with Disney Gift Cards

Unleash your wedding Aladdin-style by purchasing discounted Disney gift cards ahead of time; they can help cover part of your overall cost without rubbing any genie lamp!

  • Prioritize Budget Items Wisely

Assemble important elements à la Snow White: start with must-haves then transition to desirable items, ending with things that may stretch your budget. Remember, it’s all about balance in happily ever after!

  • Consult Your Disney Wedding Planner

Your Fairy Godmother (aka Disney’s free wedding planner) is only a pumpkin ride away! Work with them to embrace cost-saving strategies while manifesting the magical experience you and your partner deserve.

Above all else? Stay true to yourselves as a couple while navigating financial decisions during these magical wedding journeys. With heart-to-heart chats about must-haves and unique bridal visions, that storybook celebration will indeed become an unforgettable reality!

And so, dear Disney dreamers, we’ve journeyed through a land of love, laughter, and sensible budgeting in the realm of fairy tale weddings. By embracing these budget-friendly adventures alongside your own creative spark, achieving that perfect “happily ever after” doesn’t have to involve raiding Scrooge McDuck’s vault!

Remember: like all great Disney stories, the magic lies within you – from choosing the right time slot and prioritizing essential elements to trusting your Fairy Godmother (or wedding planner) with their sage advice. So step forth and let your love story unfold in true Disney style while reigning over a kingdom of thriftiness! Happy planning, and may your magical day become a reality beyond your wildest dreams!

Lisa Plaitt

Hello, I’m Lisa Plaitt and I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost five years. We met almost a decade ago now and I love him more everyday. But on my wedding day - the day that was supposed to be about celebrating us - I was far too stressed to enjoy it. My husband proposed to me in spring and it was a very lowkey setting, in our backyard without anyone else around to see it. It was a perfect proposal. But then everything got real, and I was suddenly thrust into planning mode.

All About Disney Cruise Line Wedding Photography

Information and ideas about bringing your own Disney Cruise Line wedding photographer for a DCL Dream, Fantasy, Magic or Wonder celebration. Mikkel Paige Photography explains the pros and cons of each. | Disney Wedding Ideas | #mikkelpaige #disneycruiseline #disneybride #disneyweddingideas #DisneyWeddingPhotography #DisneyWedding

Bringing my own wedding photographer along for a Disney Cruise Line sailing to capture my wedding, instead of going with Disney Cruise Line Wedding Photography from Shutters, would be exactly what I would choose if I were getting married on DCL.

In fact, I don’t hide that I was once planning a wedding on a Disney cruise. I know firsthand why this type of wedding is especially appealing and unique. (The relationship didn’t work out the memories of booking a DCL wedding remain.)

Getting married on a Disney Cruise — whether on their private island, Castaway Cay (pronounced “key”), or aboard the ship, like in the Grand Hall on Disney Wish — is a singular destination idea that captures a Disney lover’s nostalgic heart.

Couple smiling during a rose petal toss at their wedding ceremony in the grand hall on Disney Wish. Photos by Mikkel Paige Photography.

The ships are impeccable . The staff is even nicer than any Cast Members at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, and there are very few variables to stay within budget. It’s a relatively economical option in the midst of surmounting wedding celebration costs these days that have a big memorable impact, thus making a Disney Dream wedding possible. (Literally and figuratively.)

Disney Wedding Planners Take Away a Lot of the Guesswork

Table of Contents

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings makes the “menu” for a wedding easy to understand and book; it takes away much of the guesswork for your budget.

Accordingly, it becomes increasingly appealing to raise your budget a little bit to bring along your own photographer.

If you are on any Disney Cruise Line bride or wedding forums you know it’s a topic often discussed. (I’m a part of a lot of those forums, so I see it all the time!)

Stick with me through this post because if you’re considering bringing along your own Disney Cruise Line wedding photographer, you’ll want to read all of this.

Mikkel Paige Photography for your Disney Cruise Line Photography Option

Also, please know this post includes what Mikkel Paige Photography offers, and it’s my opinion of the benefits of bringing me along to photograph your day.

I cannot speak for other photographers – if you reach out to a different vendor about what they can provide for your wedding, it may be different.

For example, I make useful photography timelines for all my couples, whether DCL or otherwise. I don’t know if all the photographers you contact do the same. So this post pertains to my services, in particular.

Be sure to check out more information about what you get with Mikkel Paige Photography that you don’t with other photographers.

Mikkel Paige Photography, Destination Wedding Photographer and located in Raleigh, North Carolina and NYC, explains the difference you get when you hire her!

Onboard Disney Cruise Line Wedding Photography

Disney Cruise Line offers photography services on their ships. It’s my understanding the photographers utilized for weddings are the same photographers onboard who capture family photos before dinner, group character photo ops, and such.

Here’s the problem with this in a professional photographer’s eyes: they’re not wedding photographers.

Photographing a wedding is much different than photographing the sorts of things the Shutters team is responsible for on a day-to-day basis. Sure, you may luck out and get a great photographer. But the opposite can happen too, and you may get someone awful whose style you don’t like.

If you don’t bring your own photographer along for your Disney Cruise Line wedding, you are taking a risk going with onboard photography .

Imagine booking a wedding and not knowing who your photographer will be until you’re either aboard the ship or the DAY OF ?! Who needs that stress?

Concerns a Bride or Groom May Have Choosing Disney Cruise Line Photography

Here’s what I would fear as the bride if I chose to go with a DCL onboard photographer:

  • What if I don’t like the assigned photographer’s style? Come to think of it, I won’t even know what his or her photography style is until I see the photos after it’s all done – and I can’t re-do the day if I’m unhappy with the images.
  • His or her personality won’t mesh with mine – and getting along with your photographer impacts your comfort level in front of the camera, which shows in pictures.
  • I can’t call them ahead of time to coordinate/
  • They don’t do things like “getting ready” candids or detail photos before the ceremony, and I love those images.
  • I don’t believe they edit the images at all and they certainly don’t Photoshop things. (What if you have a pimple the day of the wedding?!)
  • There’s an immediacy after the wedding if you go with a DCL photographer to pick photos before you leave the ship. I wouldn’t want to choose photo prints BEFORE disembarking when my family and friends are there to have fun with. It’s an inefficient use of precious time.
  • What if I want more than two hours of coverage? As far as I’m aware you can ONLY add one hour of additional coverage to the hour included with their three photography packages – you max out at two hours.

Wouldn’t you want to be enjoying your cruise and vacation instead of stuck inside deciding on photo prints for thirty minutes to hours before you disembark? There are already enough photos I need to select simply from days aboard the ship between dinners and character meets without the added pressure of choosing my wedding photos the day of or the day after.

What if your ceremony is even closer to the end of the cruise? That means you have an even bigger time crunch on your hands to select prints before you get off the ship. Sigh – I can feel the pressure as I write this, and it’s simply a theoretical scenario, albeit a real one if you select onboard photography.

Disney Cruise Line Photography Costs

DCL Photography is an add-on to the cruise you select, it’s not automatically part of the wedding or vow renewal package.

In addition to being able to add things onto your wedding cruise, like bouquets, boutonnieres, tiki torches and even edible wedding favors, you can add on photography.

They sell three packages with various costs (listed below, pricing as of spring 2019) and associated print packages. It is my understanding the add-on offering includes one hour of photography. Digital image files and additional hours of photography can be added to the collection for a cost.

  • Celebration Package: $349.95 ($85 will be added to a Castaway Cay Ceremony for added time required) – includes 25 photo prints of 5×7″ and 8×10″ sizes and one 8×10″ image folio
  • Wishes Package: $549.95 – includes 45 photo prints of 5×7″ and 8×10″ sizes
  • Magic Package: $999.95 – includes 60 photo prints of 5×7″ and 8×10″ sizes (evenly split), 25 wedding announcements and a jump drive of all wedding images

A jump drive (or flash drive) can be added to the Celebration or Wishes Packages for $399.95.

Here’s an example of what I would have to pay, as the bride, if I wanted the first three items below:

  • Celebration Package
  • Married at Castaway Cay
  • Add a jump drive
  • Total cost for above: $834.90
  • Let’s call it $835, just for photography alone, for ONE HOUR

In simpler terms, you’re getting:

  • One hour of photography
  • 25 to 60 prints, depending on package booked
  • Jump drive of digital images, also dependent on package booked or add-on
  • For a cost of approximately $1,000

Even if you book a Wishes Package and add on a jump drive, it’s about $950.00.

And if you book a Magic Package, with the jump drive included, it’s just under $1,000 with Shutters.

Mikkel Paige Photography explains the pros and cons of each. | Disney Wedding Ideas | #mikkelpaige #disneycruiseline #disneybride #disneyweddingideas #DisneyWeddingPhotography #DisneyWedding

You have to ask yourself if these packages make sense for your needs.

Personally, I would want prints of a few sizes – probably even an 11×14″ print which they don’t even offer in a package. The wedding announcements wouldn’t be important to me, but the flash drive would be.

But what if I LOSE the drive on my journey home?! Or what if I bend the images I’m taking from the ship?

8×10″ images are pretty easy to bend while traveling through ports, airports and car rides.

Bringing your own photographer is getting even more appealing now when you can just get prints online and have them safely shipped to your home.

Benefits of Bringing Along Mikkel Paige Photography to be Your DCL Wedding Photographer

Here’s what you get with Mikkel Paige Photography you don’t with the onboard DCL option and perhaps not even with other photographers:

Assurance Before Your DCL Wedding with Mikkel Paige Photography

  • The exact photographer you’re hiring includes my artistic eye, someone with over a decade of experience as a photographer who specializes in weddings, engagements, and proposals.
  • We communicate before, during, and after the wedding. Isn’t it nice to know you can still contact your photographer after your wedding when you leave the ship?
  • Customized wedding day photography timeline. (Regardless if you have two hours of coverage, five hours or more.)

During Your Disney Cruise Wedding

  • You get 3 to 5 hours of photography depending on your individualized needs, discussed beforehand as I learn more about the specifics of your wedding. This includes getting ready photos, detail pictures, like of your rings and dress, your ceremony and reception celebration, and photos around the ship. (Check out Brittany and Josh’s DCL wedding on the Disney Dream as an example of the complete coverage I provide.)
  • You’re able to add on coverage during the rest of the cruise, if you would like a rehearsal dinner or welcome party added, or even a beach/Castaway Cay session if you get married onboard.
  • Experience with various lighting situations. It’s not easy for an inexperienced photographer – or someone who doesn’t specialize in weddings, which are quick-moving and don’t allow for beach lighting setups – to capture weddings in full sun on the beach. I have a lot of experience capturing beach weddings throughout my decade in the wedding industry.
  • I’m truly an avid traveler. I travel between 20 to 30% of the year and have photographed various Destination Weddings from Norway , to Jamaica , Dominican Republic and of course on Disney Cruise Line. I run the website Sometimes Home as well as a cruise travel website , Sometimes Sailing. Check out our post about Proof Disney Cruise Line is for Adults Too or Things to do at Walt Disney World Besides the Parks . This means if problems arise during your sailing, I won’t panic or get flustered! I know how to manage problems that may arise when traveling.

After Your DCL Wedding Sailing

  • A password-protected, online gallery to share with family and friends. This means you can simply forward a gallery link and password to them after your cruise.
  • Digital files of the images, accessible through your online gallery. This means…no need to worry about where that jump drive went after you return home from your cruise!

Disney Cruise Line Wedding Photos, images by Disney Photographer, Mikkel Paige Photography.

  • Prints and assorted products can be purchased from your online wedding photography gallery for at least a year after the gallery is released. There’s no need ot stress about selecting prints when you could be enjoying the little time left of your cruise instead.
  • Do you know I was a professional retoucher? I worked at Rent the Runway for a few years as their sole full time, on staff photo retoucher. Rest assured if you have a pimple the day of your wedding I’ll edit that out. (I treat others how I want to be treated and I would want that done for me if I had a blemish on my face the day of the wedding!) Minimal retouching in included and I automatically edit things like that as I complete your wedding gallery.
  • I LOVE the wedding albums I offer. You’re able to order professional album(s) either by including it in your wedding photography services from the get-go for an additional savings, or any time after the wedding.

As a reminder, be sure to read more information about what you get with Mikkel Paige Photography that you don’t with other photographers if you haven’t already read it! It includes more crucial information I didn’t want to repeat above but is nonetheless significant.

What to Expect in Terms of Cost to have Mikkel Paige Photography as your Disney Cruise Line Wedding Photographer

Here’s the Catch 22 of the equation: you’re getting married with DCL because it’s affordable and uncommon. But you want to bring your own photographer, which increases costs. I completely understand.

Photography is not an area to cut-costs if you can afford it, however.

The cruise ends. Images last a lifetime.

Here’s what to expect in terms of cost to bring me along for to be your Disney Cruise Line wedding photographer:

  • Travel (including the cruise plus tips/gratuities, driving to the port and some additional costs of doing business that involve travel)
  • Investment for photography services, dependent upon the couple’s wedding needs

Money is a touchy subject. I get it. I love being creative but don’t love talking about money. Most people don’t enjoy it. It’s personal and usually not the “fun” part. But it’s necessary to address.

I admit I’m continuously surprised by the amount of DCL wedding inquiries I receive each year who expect me to photograph a wedding for free or simply in “exchange” for a cruise.

I find that people who are willing to do that either don’t do this full time (which creates its own issues should you should be hiring a full time wedding photographer) or are very inexperienced.

Why bringing along your own photographer means paying for photography in addition to the cost of the cruise

While a cruise may be appealing and exciting, I am a serious photographer who works in this career full time. I have been on Disney Cruise Line several times. (Which is great advantage because I’m familiar with the ships and Castaway Cay.)

For someone who travels professionally and personally as often as I do, the plain truth is a cruise vacation isn’t going to pay the very real cost of me doing business when I owe money to the IRS at the end of the year, as any legitimate business owner does. Or have to pay a mortgage every month.

Camera Insurance, for one example, is a real cost to professional photographers and cannot be paid in cruise bookings. And unfortunately, neither can I. I do, however, offer discounts to DCL couples that you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of on land because I love DCL so much.

The good news is you actually get more with me than DCL onboard photography.

Here’s a few things I need to keep in mind when discussing the investment a couple has to make to bring a photographer on their cruise. I elaborate on each point below in this section of the post:

  • Availability for multiple days, sometimes even two weekends
  • Travel costs to/from Florida, including port parking if need be
  • Cruise cost that does not go towards my services – it simply gets paid to Disney Cruise Line

Availability for Multiple Days , Sometimes Even Two Weekends

If your cruise spans a weekend, like the 3-Day sailings, please consider the side of the photographer. I have to reserve three days for your sailing, dedicated to one couple:

  • Saturday, the most popular day to get married
  • Sunday, the second most popular day for weddings
  • Friday, the third most popular days for weddings

It’s rare I book three weddings a weekend – I actually wouldn’t want to because wow, exhaustion! But it’s not so uncommon to be booked for what photographers call a “double header” for popular wedding weekends, which means two weddings in a row.

If I’m on a cruise I am not available to photograph anyone else’s wedding. This is a risk to me as a photographer who books a limited amount of weddings a year to give every couple the attention and focus they deserve. So it’s something I have to consider.

That being said, I love DCL weddings!

If a couple books a 7-Day or 14-Day cruise then I have to consider dedicating multiple weekends to them so I can be on their sailing.

This is part of why a photographer needs to be paid for her services in addition to the cruise and travel cost the couple covers. You’re not only booking the wedding day – it’s reserving dates a photographer can potentially book if working on land, so she can be on your 3-Day, 4-Day or 7-Day cruise, for example.

Travel Costs to/from Port Canaveral, Florida

I operate my business from three primary locations: south Florida, North Carolina and New York. This simply means I have to travel to/from Port Canaveral, Florida (if this is the port for your sailing) to sail on the cruise. This is quoted in your custom photography collection; costs vary based on time of year and may include mileage and/or parking at the port terminal.

Why I Prefer to Drive to/from the Port (Including Port Parking if needed)

It’s likely I’ll drive to the port on the east coast instead of flying. Why? I want to know my photography gear is safe and sound! And I don’t have to rely on air travel to get there, with all its uncertainties.

Driving myself to the port means I know  my camera gear is in my hands.

Port parking garage costs is already included in my travel estimation included in your photography quote. I can’t get on the ship if I’m not at the port.

Cruise Cost In Addition to Photography Services

I need to be on the cruise to photograph your wedding.

Any money a couple pays me for their DCL wedding – let’s say $5,000 – includes money I’m simply turning around to use to pay for travel, including to the cruise line and the port. Which means I am being paid a  portion of that amount for my services and expertise to document your day.

I’m a professional, which is why you contacted me, right? Professionals are paid for their services.

I totally get it: Disney Cruise Line is a cost effective way to get married and it’s often a couples’ way of making a wedding budget + vacation + memorable location work. To think photography could be equal to or more than the entire cost of the wedding (excluding the cost of the couple’s sailing too) is sometimes hard to wrap your head around.

But I can’t be there to photograph a wedding unless I’m on the ship…and I wouldn’t be able to do my job and have all these years of experience unless it was my full time career.

Comparison: DCL vs. Mikkel Paige Photography

Here is your investment for on board, DCL photography services using the example above under the Disney Cruise Line Photography Costs heading:

  • A photographer who you don’t know and have never spoken to
  • Photo prints you need to choose before you exit the ship
  • Approximate cost: $1,000

Here is your investment to have Mikkel Paige Photography photograph your wedding:

  • 3 to 5 hours of coverage
  • Mikkel, herself: a photographer you’ve communicated with multiple times and ways (including FaceTime or Skype sessions) before the big day and can contact afterward
  • A photography style you’ve already seen, love, and trust
  • Ability to book more photography coverage for events before/after the wedding day aboard the ship as needed (like a dinner or beach session)
  • Customized wedding day photography timeline
  • Ability to order professional products – including prints and albums – any time after the wedding
  • Approximate cost NOT including travel falls between $1,000 to $2,000 depending on hours of coverage, whether 3, 4 or 5 hours. This means I offer a savings of 50% off to DCL brides (because I’m a Disney fan and love DCL).

It’s a heck of a great investment for my photography services compared to Disney Cruise Line staff’s offering.

(Please note: I don’t bring a second photographer along for a DCL wedding – it’s absolutely unnecessary for a wedding which is almost always less than 50 people. I photograph about half of all my weddings solo, including luxury weddings on land, and destination weddings all over the world, with over 100 guests.)

Either you can pay them $1,000 for an hour of photography with minimal results in a number of ways or you can invest a little more for your photography, including more hours of coverage, and better results.

Am i available for your wedding date.

Cruise Wedding Packages: Everything You Need to Know

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

So you’re ready to say “I do”. That means it’s time to start thinking about planning your event, and the most part important step of that process (aside from locking down a date), is where you’re going to host it!

The venue plays a huge part in everything else that follows, from invitations and the guest list to food, beverages, and entertainment. Depending on the location, you’ll need to choose accordingly to make the most of the space you’re celebrating in. It’s one of the reasons cruise wedding packages are so popular. Not only is the metaphor for the location great—you’re setting sail on a new adventure and embarking on a beautiful life together—but practically speaking, getting married on a boat streamlines the process by reducing the guesswork of what is and isn’t possible. With the variety of options cruises provide, couples can select the perfect package for their big day without being overwhelmed by too many choices to consider. In fact, they can opt for all-inclusive cruise wedding packages where everything is provided for them; customizable cruise wedding packages where they can tailor the experience to accommodate their needs; as well as cost-effective wedding packages when a particular budget is in mind. You must be thinking now: Where do I begin? And that’s where we come in. This guide to cruise wedding packages will provide insights on what you need to know by covering the ins and outs of what they’re all about…

Cruise Wedding Packages from City Experiences

Whether it’s an all-inclusive, customizable, or cost-effective cruise wedding package, the options offered by City Experiences can encompass wedding-related events, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. Wedding Related Events can range from engagement or bachelor and bachelorette parties to bridal showers and luncheons, day-after brunches, and even vow renewals. They are the ideal way to celebrate a couple’s love on the water with a picture-perfect backdrop of whatever destination they decide on.

Meanwhile, Rehearsal Dinners offer all-inclusive packages that feature chef-designed menus and exceptional service intended to make the evening a memorable night for close family and friends within intimate, special, and exquisite surroundings complete with stunning skyline views. Of course, for Ceremonies & Receptions, what could be more unforgettable than the spectacular backdrop of your city coupled with dedicated wedding professionals to make everything a seamless experience and top-notch hospitality to elevate the event? Either indoors or on the outdoor decks, there’s plenty of space for dining and dancing, and packages can be created to fit any budget or style. For any and all of these occasions, you’ll begin by selecting your city, desired date, number of guests, and any other details about the event you care to include. The more specific you are about your needs and wants, the easier it will be to organize the event. Your best bet? Start by reviewing all of the intel you can find at Weddings on the Water .

Cruise Ship Wedding Packages—An Overview

Numerous cruise lines offer wedding packages too, and while many may float towards a higher price point and require a longer stay for both friends and family, it’s still good to know what you could expect. For example, major carriers like Carnival, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean provide opportunities to celebrate nuptials on the ship before leaving port, at sea, aboard the ship while docked at a specific destination, and even ashore on an island. The bride and groom can exchange vows administered by the captain of the ship, which makes for a unique nautical experience, and ceremonies and receptions can be held in a range of areas based on what the cruise lines offer as acceptable spaces. And just like City Experiences, couples can select pre-designed packages or customize their own for wedding-related events, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions—depending on budget, style, and number of guests. If there’s a particular theme you are partial to, there are also options like Disney Cruise Line Weddings.

Cost Benefits of Cruise Wedding Packages vs. Traditional Weddings

Let’s be honest—weddings can be expensive, and that’s why many couples choose a cruise wedding over something more traditional. Because not only is it more affordable (and often less stressful) than hiring a venue, but cruise wedding packages also often come with wedding planners. Also, the ability to be able to select from several options (including all-inclusive and customized) can be deemed priceless. The experience is like a mini vacation, or magical night out, for the couple—as well as everyone in attendance—and you are guaranteed to get some amazing wedding photos. What’s also great about cruise weddings is the fact that there’s already a party-like atmosphere in play. As you see people on the shore, or other boats passing by, well-wishers often extend warm greetings of bon voyage because it just feels right!

Best Time to Get Married on a Cruise

They say timing is everything, and that’s certainly true for weddings. Deciding where you want to get married is step one. Step two is when, and that depends on whether you are a morning or night person, and whether you want dynamic daytime photos or images that feature a fabulous evening setting. Taking into consideration how many guests will be in attendance and where they are traveling from will also help in determining the ideal time to get married—as will the season. If you want to share vows during the summer, think about the temperatures you can expect in your chosen city. For example, the heat and/or humidity may be too hot to handle for an August wedding on the water in New York City, so early autumn might be better for those sensitive to warmer weather. You know your preferences, and those of your guests, so make your decision by using that knowledge to your advantage.

Cruise Wedding Costs

disney cruise wedding cost 2023

While it’s not easy to calculate the exact cost of a wedding in one blog—there are after all a lot of things to consider—we can tell you about the things that will affect the price, and what would be a good idea to keep in mind. First off, beverages. If an open bar is where your heart is, it’s important to think about what you plan to serve. Whether it’s wine, spirits, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic options, calculate the amount you’ll think you’ll need based on your number of guests (and their drinking habits). The same goes for the food. Whether it’s small bites during a passed appetizer hour or a sit-down meal that features a few courses, calculate what you’ll need on a per-person basis. If a DJ or band is what you want for entertainment, determine how much you can spend based on the length of your event. The same goes for the photographer and/or videographer and any additional amenities that are not included in the package you have chosen for your cruise.

How to Select the Right Wedding Package

You’ve chosen the right partner for your life, so selecting the right wedding package should be a breeze—and it can be when you opt for a cruise wedding. There are just a few key factors to keep in mind: the guest list, the destination, and your budget. These three things will impact all aspects of the event. The guest list is a key factor for your budget. Depending on how many people you’d like in attendance, and how many of those people RSVP yes, you’ll be able to figure out what you can spend, and part of that spend is based on your destination. Prices may vary in each city depending on what you want to include, so if you have your heart set on San Francisco or Chicago, be sure to take that into consideration.

But no matter what package you choose, one thing is clear – a cruise wedding is a wonderful way for couples to start a new life. Because the skyline is the only limit for an event that’s bound to be filled with cherished memories and a lifetime of love from this day forward. 4 Expensive Disney Cruise Options That Are Worth the Cost (and One That Isn’t)

T aking a Disney  cruise  lets you be the prince or princess of a Disney story. Everything from your meals to onboard entertainment is taken care of, leaving you free to explore everything the ship offers.

Find Out:  How To Get $340 Per Year in Cash Back on Things You Already Buy

Understanding  what’s included  in your package can help you decide where it might be worth splashing out a bit more cash for an even more enchanting experience.

While every Disney cruise comes with its share of pixie dust, some experiences are so spectacular they justify the extra investment. From princess makeovers to adult-only fine dining, prioritizing the right upgrades can elevate your cruise from memorable to once-in-a-lifetime.

Magical Makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique/Pirate’s League

The  Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique  offers an opportunity for your children to transform into their favorite characters, whether that’s a prince, princess or pirate. Since you likely chose a Disney cruise for the unique Disney experience or because you or your children are fans of a character or two, it makes sense to take part in this one-of-a-kind makeover option.

Princess makeovers range from $100 to $450, with the basic “Deluxe Carriage Package” including hairstyling, shimmering makeup and face gem, princess sash and cinch sack, nail polish, and t-shirt. Pricier packages also include princess gowns, accessories, tiaras, and more. To give your princess a special experience at a lower cost, you could pack a princess dress rather than paying for the more expensive package that includes one.

For those who would like to become knights or captains, you can select a package that includes a costume, sack or backpack, hairstyling and gel, confetti, and either a sword and shield or a captain’s hat and an autograph book. These packages cost $100 for the knight and $120 for the captain. Pirate makeovers are available on special Pirate Party nights.

Beer Mug or Drink of the Day Savings Package

Although Disney Cruise Line doesn’t offer an all-inclusive alcohol drink package, they do have alternatives that could be a good value if you plan to drink on your cruise. You can purchase a $17 souvenir glass beer mug that allows you to buy 21 oz of draught beer or hard cider for the price of a 16 oz beer or hard cider. This will pay for itself if you have more than around a half-dozen drinks, and you get a nifty keepsake that you can use on future cruises.

There is also an option to purchase a Drink of the Day cocktail souvenir cup that you may refill at a discounted price (and drinks of the day are already discounted). You can use these cups for drink discounts at Disney Castaway Cay as well, so don’t forget to pack your cup when you go ashore. Speaking of going ashore…

Port Adventures

A big part of cruising is going ashore during the port stops along the way. You may want to upgrade your trip by opting for  port adventure packages . These packages can include equipment rentals like bicycles, snorkels, and water tubes. They may also include cultural experiences, sightseeing, or even nature experiences like swimming with dolphins.

Booking your port adventures through Disney also offers the convenience of pre-set pricing, saving you the hassle of haggling or currency exchange. Not all the experiences are super expensive, and even splurging on a mid-range adventure will be a memorable upgrade to your cruise that reduces stress during port days.

Adult-Exclusive Dining

Every Disney Cruise ship offers dining options for adults only, so you can have a peaceful date night with your spouse while sailing. These dining options are only available for people 18 and older. The restaurant options include (depending on your ship) Palo, Palo Steakhouse, Remy, and Enchante.

After recent price increases in 2023, brunch and dinner at Palo and Palo Steakhouse will cost $50 per person for a fixed menu. Base dinner prices at Remy and Enchante are $135 per person. A la carte options are available for an 18% charge on top of the price of each item. While these meals are fairly pricey, especially considering other meals in the Dining Room are included in your ticket cost, you can’t put a dollar amount on an amazing adult-only date night.

Skip This Upgrade: Royal Court Royal Tea

One upgrade option you may have heard about is the Royal Court Royal Tea. While it’s a charming idea, especially for fans of Disney princesses, the cost is steep at $220 per child and $69 per adult.

While the description makes the Royal Tea sound charming, attendees have found it an expensive disappointment. Although it’s a popular add-on, popularity isn’t always synonymous with value. Besides, there is a completely free Princess Gathering where you can meet and greet your favorite Disney Princesses.

How Much Does A Disney Wish Cruise Cost for 2023?

Sharing is caring!

Are you thinking of sailing on the Disney Wish but wondering how much it will cost?

The new Disney Wish is perhaps the most spectacular of all the Disney Cruise ships.

She is now sailing out of Port Canaveral Florida.

Here are the Disney Wish prices for 2023 – all the sailings have now been released and are available to book.

Disney Wish Cruise Costs – What You Must Know

disney-wish-concierge-one-bed-suite

When reading this guide about the price of the Disney Wish, make sure that you have these things in mind:

  • The cost of a Disney Cruise can vary a lot from day to day. Usually, the lowest cost available, is on the first day that the cruise is able to be booked.
  • Disney cruises rarely discount rates. It is true there are some last-minute bargains to be had, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
  • Also with the Disney Wish being the first new ship in over a decade it is unlikely we are going to see any discount prices on the Wish for some considerable time.
  • All prices shown are for 2 adults sharing a Disney Wish Stateroom.
  • Prices are correct at the time of writing this article which was last updated on 9 March 2023.
  • The prices shown are the lowest price available in that category. For example, it is likely that in the Disney Wish Concierge section it will be the verandah rooms shown. You aren’t going to get the Tower Suite for $5,000!

Many of these cruises have now sailed for 2023. I will keep the pricing in as a historical reminder of what the last known prices were for that sailing , but most show unavailable as they were sold out before they sailed.

Note that many sailings for the Wish for 2023 were completely sold out.
